We recently had the pleasure of visiting the Dopff where Jonathan was our host, and I cannot recommend him highly enough. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the wines and the winemaking process, sharing fascinating stories and insights that enriched our tasting experience. His passion for wine and commitment to providing an exceptional experience was evident throughout our visit. Thanks to him, we left with a greater appreciation for wine.

It was not only an excellent wine tasting session, but also a delightful human experience. We had a wonderful tasting. The wines were excellent, and Jonathan was perfect: as well as being extremely competent and skilled, he added a personal and human touch that is rare to find in commercial settings!

We arrived close to closing time, but we’re still welcomed in a very hospitable way. Johnathan really took the time to educate us about the family business of Dopff and the different vintages. Amazing Cremant, wines and above all an amazing guy! Thank you Johnathan :)

We had an amazing tour with our guide Joris — his explanations were clear, engaging, and full of knowledge both during the visit and the tasting. The wines were excellent and the whole experience felt authentic and welcoming. Highly recommended!

Good wine ... but the staff was very bad. No explanation for us but only for French people .... just put the wine on the glasses , no bottle on the table to see , no description I m sommelier so I like one description about vigneron , wine and terroir... The customer experience is important when you speak about wine ... Just my opinion ... that's no good for our brand in your main shop

One of my favorite wineries in this region. Very old with long traditions. Dry wines are very good, but sweet and semi-sweet are totally the best. No tours around winery. Maximum the short presentation inside the shop, and tasting. But for me it was enough. The staff was still very helpful, and tried to give as much as possible information.

We enjoyed the wine tastings very much! Luey was informative and patient, very nice and professional. we liked the grand cru Riesling 2015 the most although we use to drink red wines. Every wine we tasted was lovely! The muskat was surprising (not sweet!), and pino noir was very good. The service is excellent. We bought some bottles to take home as much as we could. I wish we could buy more :) We will be back some day!

Good wines but surprisingly, the price online was lower (which I discovered after the purchase). That was a bit disappointing, even though I understand it is a tourist spot in the middle of Riquewihr. The lady who served us did not seem to have much idea about wines but it was nice that that the tasting was for free.

If you can only choose one place for wine-tasting in Riquewhir, then Famille HUGEL à Riquewihr is the place for you. More than 100 years of family history written all over the place; upon you walk into the shop, the wooden interior design gives you the feeling of authenticity. There's a whole-wall of important years' collections in the basement, which can trace all the way back to 1904. Make sure you taste the 2000 Pinot Gris, the sweetness is over 170, but you'll have the never-before smoothness in your mouth, basically it'll be the most delicious "liquid" raisin you'd ever appreciated.

Amazing range of wines, their practice of giving a three flight from Classic to SGN for each grape varietal really helps you see the differences between grapes and the make for each grape. They were the most generous in terms of number of wines sampled, among the winemakers we visited in Alsace. The SGNs are fantastic. In terms of experience though, service was average. While prompt and pleasant, the lady hosting us didn't go very much into the family history or brand. Guidance for each course of wine was also cursory, comparable to your typical commercial vineyard tour. Nonetheless, would still recommend visiting this iconic winemaker in Alsace.

Staff were rude and dismissive of our group. Perhaps they had a long day? Maybe they don't like tourists? We had a small group of 6 wine loving friends who came to the region for the very purpose of tasting and buying in multiple places. This was our one and ONLY stop in this town for wine, and we were treated poorly and with contempt. While we did end up with a tasting, and we did buy some wine. Not as much as we could have or would have, because the staff were so rude!!! The experience was ruined by poor staff service and rudeness. We're an easy group to appease. In fact, many of us have lived in Europe collectively over 30 years. We know wine, we know customs, we have manners, and we know when we've been treated poorly versus misunderstandings. I'm sad because I've had to write this out and give a poor review. It's a tourist town, it's a wine tasting room, be sure to hire good people! We took home cases of wine from other places. We live close enough to recommend people and travel back. We will not be recommending this place or revisiting.

This was a wonderful dinner. Very imaginative and unique dishes. They have their own farm and serve things freshly picked that day.

It's an absolutely stunning restaurant! I haven't had an experience like that before. It's an almost 5 hours experience in one of the most beautiful towns in Europe. Make a reservation and dress nicely.

Excellent experience. Starting with the interior design, it's striking and energizing. Each dish has a strong accent, which might at times be overwhelming, however it doesn't take away from the adventure of dining at a place like this. Surprise and the unexpected are to the benefit of that. The dishes are well presented, the ingredients are locally sourced, including from the restaurant's garden and the quality is top.

Had a stunning lunch here! A red decorated restaurant. That is why the pictures are a bit reddish. Food quality is good. A lot of sweet desserts at the end. Price for menu was 100 euro and with all the amuse with it we thing worth the money. We recommend this place !

Been there for the first time tonight. Nice & beautiful restaurant, very good Service! Food: very pure, authentic & tasty, truely haute cousine. Compared to other Star Restaurants in Alsace absolutely in the TOP range. Only critics: wines far to expensive !

Outstanding experience. Every single dish was absolutely excellent. In our opinion (and with enough starred restaurants to compare), this place certainly deserves more than one Michelin star. Also, the service was absolutely professional. Wholeheartedly recommended!

Honestly not impressed, especially after experiencing the tasting menu at a 3 Michelin star restaurant in paris. The red everywhere gives the place a sinister vibe. I didn’t like a single dish. The cranberry on the cookie was wayyy too tart and had no components to calm that down. The service was also subpar; there were many times I had to wait a long time for a wine refill. Definitely not worth the money.

Very informal and nice dinner. We stopped by last night, I booked a table the same day (just few hrs before) also asking if they had some vegetarian options as on the menu there were only 2 and with my big surprise all the waiters and staff were very friendly and open to find other solutions for us. Eventually we managed to eat various different dishes. We had the onion soup, onion Tarte and then they proposed to us a terrine vegetarian. Thank you so much!

Au Dolder offers a lovely dining experience with fresh ingredients and truly tasty French dishes. The flavors felt authentic and well-prepared, making each plate a pleasure. Service from the young lady with dark hair who attended our table was impeccable—warm, attentive, and professional. A great spot for a satisfying French meal. We did't stay at the hotel so I can't judge that. Nevertheles the location and interiors are beautiful.

The atmosphere, the service was good. We had big portions, liked the menu and the tastes in general. Wine selection and the menu is ok too. We could find a table for 13 around lunchtime, so were lucky, but the place can get crowded as it's right in the centre of Riquewihr. The toilet is awful though, that surely needs improvement.

Our family have a great meal in this restaurant. They can’t speak or fully understand English and their menu mostly also not in English. We order by just guess the words that similar to English and surprise, their food is superb. We also tried Pinot Gris which recommended by tour guide. It was perfect. May be less tourist here, I guess. The phone line inside is weak and wifi is not available too.

Great starter of the day - white asparagus. Onion soup was ok. Cheese was on side instead of grilled, low amount of onions. Bread very stale. Two of us had the coq au vin Riesling, which was great! Beouf dishes were solid. Nice and good service.

We had lunch here july 21st. We arrived at 13:45, just in time to order food because the kitchen closes at 14:00. The waitress was very, very kind and helpfull with the English she knows, we didn't understand everything on the menu. I had the cheeseplatter, 5 tasty and different cheeses. My partner had the onion pie , which tasted also very good.

The place has the worst waiter ever, she wasn't interested in trying to talk to me, she was super angry and almost threw the plate on the table, avoid eating there

Good food, nice, warm atmosphere, efficient and friendly service. The Baeckeoffe and vegetable soup were probably my favourites. The meat pie was ok. I think one thing that can be improved is many dishes having the exact same salad as a side. E.g. we had a quiche as an entree and it came with a big salad, then both our entrées came with more of it, which was a bit too much salad in the end :)

This restaurant is located in the center of the old town, with a traditional atmosphere. The staff were very friendly, and there’s even a 15th-century underground wine cellar next door — very impressive. The dishes are slightly more expensive than in non-touristy areas. The flammenkuchen we ordered had a burnt crust and tasted a bit bitter, not well made. The other dish, a stew, was pretty good.

So the food was really bland, didn't have really interesting flavor. I'll just be nice and make it simple. Nothing I tasted there make me want to come back again to the restaurant.

We got to share food in the wonderful outside terrace. We had good food (best flamkuchen) Good wine locally made and the place had such a good authentic vibe. Would definitely come again! The staff was also very kind.

Busy place - but wait a little and you will get a table. We had great local food and sparkling local wine - whats not to like :-)

This hidden gem in Riquewihr is a must, they do not have reservations but trust me you won’t regret. We got earlier at 18:00, when they just opened, the wine, the starters and the main course are just awesome, everything is delicious. They offer 3 different menus, this is a good option in case you want starter, main dish and dessert! The staff is awesome, definitely a place to go back more than once!

We particularly enjoyed the prawn cocktail and duck breast - best duck breast through our entire trip to Alsace! The escargots is okay only...Super busy place during Christmas and we're glad to secure a seat from the day before.

Great service with flavoursome regional food that is well executed. It's certainly not a fine dining restaurant, tables are a little too close for comfort but service is great, food is tasty and well matched for the delicious local wine. A recommended local eatery, booking is essential. We only know of one better eatery in the town. Booking is essential.

On our visit to Riquewihr, we stumbled upon this place for lunch. The food was phenomenal. Very high quality with beautiful presentation. Highly recommend!

This was the best meal that I have had in Riquewihr. It was such a pleasure to be able to experience an excellent vegan meal in Riquewihr. The desserts were excellent too.The wine list was excellent. The dining experience would have been enhanced with a wine paring menu. Excellent value too.

Amazing food, everything we tasted was super nice and it felt original! Definitely recommend. Nice atmosphere as well and friendly staff!

I started with a cauliflower soup topped with croutons and almonds. Then as main dish followed deer ragout with carrots and semolina slices. The semolina slices reminded me of my grandmother cooking, real nice. The wine was a Gewürztraminer, rather fruity and not dry. Should have ordered 2 glasses it was sooo good.

A nice restaurant tucked away in the beautiful town of Riquiwhir in the Alsace. Each dish served us was excellent in taste, balance, presentation and amount. We had a most memorable gastronomic experience. It’s above others in price but well worth it!

The one of only vegan and vegetarian restaurants around! It tasted amazing, and for 30€ you got a whole amazing menu. From the entrée to the dessert all where fantastic. I recommend highly. And you get setved with a big smile

We were fortunate enough to have the almost undivided attention of chef Phillipe Aubron, the Wagu King, and his incredible Wagu beef and imaginative seafood dishes. Not for the unadventurous but certainly one of those experiences we'll never forget. It's hard not to be impressed by a chef with such passion for their craft, such pride in their creations and someone who experiences such joy in the enjoyment of others. From start to end we savoured every flavour, every crumb and drop. We can't recommend this restaurant strongly enough, or the recommended wine pairing.
