The cuisine at Da Nello is highly enjoyable. However, one slight drawback is that despite being advertised as a pizza and pasta restaurant, they seem to dismiss any inquiries about pizza. While personally this did not bother me, it was disappointing for my 4-year-old who loves pizza. Fortunately, he ended up enjoying a plate of pasta instead. This could have been a deal breaker for another family or on a different night.
I’m very picky about food and service. But this place checked all the boxes for me — the food was wonderful: pasta, pizza, risotto. In fact, we came here more than once! The service was excellent, and our waitress was a lovely, cheerful woman who spoke pretty good English. I highly recommend this place if you want to truly enjoy Italian cuisine.

Ive never felt the need to go to the same restaurant twice while on vacation, you want to experience new things always right? Not here, the bolognese was NUMBER 1, the reason i went back. the swordfish,, pizza, the seafood in general, FANTASTIC. the lady who was taking care of us and our limited italian, was such a gem. the man who i believe was the owner/chef was a personality greeted us and making sure we were good. the town is also beautiful but please remember we are not in rome, try your best to speak some italian and they will do the same. Thanks again!

Wonderful restaurant located just off the main street in Santa Maria! We had a large family dinner here with a variety of dishes. Loved the food, service was wonderful, owner was very attentive. Spaghetti con le vongole was great. My favorite dish was the polipo e carciofi all'insalata antipasto! Definitely try it, great flavor combination. Overall a wonderful experience!

Wonderful people, delicious food! We ate homemade ravioli with incredible, rich, ragú sauce. The waitress was so warm and accommodating and explained everything in English. The chef also came out to check on us and was also warm and friendly. It was a really lovely atmosphere and experience and for a very reasonable price. Highly recommend!

A hidden gem in a tucked-away alley. Amazing, authentic cuisine – clearly popular with locals. It helps if you speak some Italian, but the staff are welcoming and the food speaks for itself. The place gets crowded in the early evening, so making a reservation is a good idea unless you come early or later at night. The kitchen team is warm and funny, the wines are good, prices are fair, and everything we tried was absolutely delicious.

We went there based on Google reviews. Very welcoming, starters were courgette flowers filled ricotta etc and a Calamari & courgette, both very good. A spaghetti vongole " it was gorgeous" and fried calamari and prawns, also v good and a salad to share. We were stuffed so didn't have a sweet. This was the best meal we had in the 5 night's in SM d C, lots of locals in so it must be good!

Delightful! We found it almost by mistake, at the very end of the lunch hour, then were assured by a young Italian couple who were leaving as we came in that the food was excellent. We were the only people there but they treated us so well! Food was wonderful: squash blossoms, fried fish, potato gnocchi. Highly highly recommend

It was absolutely wonderful we went there multiple times because the food was so delicious and local you could taste how much love they put into it. It’s a family business and you just now that love what they are doing and always put the customer first. The kid on the table asked for apple juice which they didn’t have so the owner sent her son to get some. That’s just one example on how friendly they were.

Nestled in a picturesque village, Cantina Belvedere Restaurant is an upscale dining destination that promises not only exquisite seafood but also breathtaking sunset views from its terrace overlooking the stunning Northern Cilento gulf. The ambiance is stylish and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a memorable meal. Guests rave about the fish dishes, particularly recommending the starter selection of raw fish and the standout tuna steak.
In 2017 I tasted the best pasta I’ve ever had in my life. It had pistachios, anchovies, and tomatoes. I haven’t stopped thinking about it since. It was simply sensational. Thank you for giving me this experience.

Phenomenal and very reasonable . Unbelievable wine collection a must in the area and sunsets are amazing!

We had dinner here, but honestly, it was a letdown. The fish tasted like it came straight from the freezer, not fresh, no real flavor. The rice was way too hard, almost undercooked. Overall, the food was bland and lacked depth. The wine was actually good, and the water too. But the atmosphere was off. Our waitress was rushing around the whole time, bringing this tense, frantic energy that made it hard to relax and enjoy the meal. Not a place we’ll return to.

This place is simply unforgettable! The view is breathtaking words don’t do it justice, you really need to experience it yourself. The service was outstanding. Our waiter was professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate. We originally came just for a drink, but after a few more we decided to stay for dinner and it turned out to be the best decision of the night. The food was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. I’m not a chef, so I won’t pretend to judge the technical details, but every bite was a pleasure. The dessert was the perfect finishing touch to an evening that was relaxing, enjoyable, and truly memorable. Highly recommended.

I would love to give it 4.5 stars but will have to go with 5! Great food and beautiful presentation. Very professional and attentive service. HUGE and varied wine list with lots of local wines. But tbh it’s the view that is the showstopper. We split an appetiser and then had a primo and a secundo each, and it was far too much to leave room for dessert. We should have skipped the primo. The tuna was the star of the show. The eponymous secundo was ok but not as good as the other dishes. The meatball melanzanne appetizer was one of our favourites. With two beers one negroni and three glasses of wine (total) our bill came to 175 €. The town is charming to explore before or after your meal.

Enjoyed the most fantastic seafood lunch here on our 30th Wedding Anniversary. Arrived 40 minutes before restaurant was due to close, without a reservation and nothing was too much trouble. Amazing views only surpassed by the excellent food and service 👌

After living in Italy for over 11years I've never been to a more over priced restaurant until this. The food quality was good, but no where near the quality that the prices would suggest. €29 for a plate of "normal" pasta with fish is theivery. Yes it's presented very well, but you can find tastier dishes for less than half the price in the village in other establishments. The view is outstanding, if they let you sit outside as they don't seem to take many bookings. If you want to over pay for some standard dishes (presented really well) with a view then this is your place. That being said, the staff were excellent and the service was top notch and there are many wines from all over Italy to choose from. The place is a really nice restaurant but the food quality is nowhere near as the prices and atmosphere would suggest. We left disappointed with the food more than anything.

Just th view on its own will make your visit worth while. Located on the most scenic corner of this beautiful village, this restaurant is the quintessential example of a dinner with a view. Food is all fish based, so there is little to choose from for vegetarians and meat lovers. Highly recommended the starter selection of raw fish and the tuna steak. Service is very good and the wine selection impressive. Prices are high for the area, but any londoner will find it extremely cheap for what you get

Ristorante Cuopperia Lo Sparviero is a relaxed eatery situated by the beach, offering a variety of seafood, sushi, pasta, and pizza. The outdoor seating allows patrons to enjoy scenic views while indulging in delectable dishes. This establishment has the ability to enhance any holiday experience with its quality service and ambiance. In addition to the gourmet restaurant, there is also a street food take-away that matches the same level of excellence in terms of food quality and customer service.
Staffs are very kind and amazing view. Their calamari and mixed fry were excellent! Very crunch and fresh. I highly recommend!

If you don't speak Italian don't go! Also don't go with a baby as they are rude! In all my years of travel never experienced such horrible service or lack of it! We arrived 10 minutes before opening time with a hungry baby and asked for 1 piece of bread as we understood we arrived early! If they didn't want to accommodate us why sit us As we never would of entered the restaurant!

It was nice! Fresh and good quality, big portions, I liked it a lot!!

Don't be fooled by the mediocre reviews. This is an OG place if you don't sit down at the touristy-terrace but instead order the fried seafood from the touchscreen inside the restaurant. All as it should be, fresh ingredients, great experience.

It’s a very nice Resturant we right by the sea. The staff was very polite and the food also ok. We choose the wrong options as the portions were quite small compared to the price we paid. We didn’t enjoy the rana pescatrice, the taste of the pork fat was covering all of the other ingredients. It’s worth the experience if you are in sabato maria.

Nice place in a nice location but that's it. Very slow, we took the Riccio un.. for 25 euro, not good at all with spikes of urchin inside. I nory the waiters but they just took the platr away without saying anything. I paid the whole things after waiting for an additional 20 minutes. Do not go if you don't want a bad experience.

Places like this restaurant have the ability to upgrade a holiday-location so much, it adds quality-time to your holiday and you want to spend more days there next time you're in Santa Maria! Besides the gourmet-restaurant, there is a street food take-away, which in terms of quality and friendliness is on the same level as the gourment-restaurant, because the entire staff does everything to comfort the guests. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Giuseppe and his brother Simone for the "Triglia-Box" :-) and look forward to seeing you again very soon! From the overall rating (service, price, performance, portions, etc.) certainly one of the best restaurants I've ever been ...

This was the biggest food scam I ve ever come across. 37 min waiting they mistook the sauce and there was almost no vegetables and chicken in my dish. Totally different look from the pictures.

We didn’t know they were closing at 3 but they still let us sit and have lunch at 14:50. The food was amazing, especially the tuna with zucchini, tiramisù and the fragola cheesecake.

Fantastic food, beautifully presented, and very inexpensive. Highly recommend. Don't miss the Spaghetti al Nerano!
David R — Google review
Came first at 7 pm when they open for dinner and asked them politely if they can prepare food for us as quickly as possible as our 2 year old was very hungry. Still sitting and waiting for our food 90 minutes… I counted at least 10 tables that ordered after us having their food served and already left. It appears to me that foreigners are not so welcome judging by their attitude but it could be that we were not appealing enough.

Nestled in a charming small piazza within the historic village of Castalabatte, Divino Ristorante Vineria offers an unforgettable dining experience. This delightful trattoria boasts a casual atmosphere and is perfect for enjoying local cuisine while soaking in stunning views of the Tyrrhenian Sea. Guests rave about the top-notch service and delectable dishes, including fresh seafood pasta and unique offerings like a ceviche-style dish featuring four different types of fish.
Food was excellent. Ravioli with a glass of house white hit the spot. Menu 30€
Kirsten P — Google review
As many reviewers have stated before, the fixed price menu is a joke. Meaning, it is very expensive considering what you get. €30 for an appetizer and a primo is steep. The food was not bad but not great either. The service was decent. The atmosphere at the main piazza is beautiful. So, if you go for the ambiance, expect the food to be just so/so, and are okay with paying a premium, then this is a decent restaurant.

Great afternoon at Divino Ristorante. Service was excellent as was the food. We had wine, beer and appetizers. Our lunch was also great. In a quaint small piazza in the middle of an ancient town. Castalabatte is a historical village high above Santa Maria on theTyrrhenian Sea

Slunk in here unplanned for a spot of nosh and weren’t disappointed. Bruschetta and ravioli share - a lovely light lunch. Top quality food and service, also a top quality view from the bog. Well worth a visit.

Casual Trattoria vibe located in a little square. Very friendly staff. Food was delicious . House white wine was off the charts. Very kid friendly staff was great

Has an interesting selection of dishes that are local (I think?). For example a cerviche like dish of four different fishes. Pasta dishes were nice. It’s all quite enjoyable eating on the square there.
