Nature & Parks
Nestled in the enchanting Maremma countryside of Southern Tuscany, The Tarot Garden is a captivating blend of art and nature that invites visitors to explore its whimsical charm. This unique park features 22 monumental sculptures inspired by tarot cards, each representing the greater Mysteries. As you wander along cobblestone paths lined with oaks and olive trees, you'll be mesmerized by vibrant colors and intricate designs made from mirrors, glass, ceramics, and Venetian murrine.
The most amazing and inspiring place. The park is well kept and the artworks are amazing. You can easily get lost in the details of the tiles as everything is so intricate. There are so many different sculptures to see, including sound works and interactive areas you can go into. There is no bus from capalbio station and we weren’t able to get a taxi so call ahead to book if you plan on taking the train.

It was a singular place, very different from all the castles and renaissance art you may have been seeing in Italy . The garden is the creation of one artist and her vivid imagination. The sculptures are fantastic. It is a small-ish place, so you can go relax and have a good visit among these sculptures or take a 1 hour passegiatta to see them all… we had a good time walking about and taking pictures! Enjoy!

I have waited so long to visit this place and it was so worth it! Such an amazing and inspiring place. At the entrance there are some maps where there are the names of the sculptures. My children enjoyed finding them all and they loved it.

(Translated by Google) We went tonight for the wild boar festival event, which was amazing. Very well organized and equally managed. I didn't know that this festival has been around for 58 years and I apologize to the inhabitants of Capalbio. However, dishes served absolutely hot and uniquely delicious, wild boar hunter style as Christ commands. Excellent wild boar liver sausages. Polenta, beans with pork rinds, we practically even ate the legs of the table 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Thank you for hosting us in your country. Until the next edition. 👍🏻💯💯💯 P. S. Important: you can only pay in cash and not with a debit card due to an obvious logistical problem. 👍🏻💯💯💯 P. S. In the heart of Capalbio's historic center lies Palazzo Collacchioni e Rocca Aldobrandesca, surrounded by narrow streets and historic buildings that narrate the village's rich trading history. The ancient fortress, Rocca Aldobrandesca, once belonging to Abbazia delle Tre Fontane in Rome, now stands as a testament to the Aldobranschi family's influence in southern Tuscany.
A must to do to anyone who visits the Borgo. Sightseeing is exceptional with a blue sea on almost a half of the horizon.

(Translated by Google) I was fortunate enough to visit Capalbio, a medieval village that enchanted me with its timeless atmosphere. The walk along the walls offered spectacular views of the Maremma and the sea, allowing me to appreciate how well-preserved the historic center is. The village is small and intimate, and I was able to explore all its alleys, stairways, and squares in a short time. My experience at Palazzo Collacchioni The most fascinating part of the visit was at Palazzo Collacchioni, located inside the Rocca Aldobrandesca. Upon entering, I was struck by the frescoes and period furniture that tell a distant story. In particular, I saw the 1823 Conrad Graf fortepiano, which I was told was once played by Giacomo Puccini. It was moving to find myself in a room with such an important piece of history. I had no problem finding information, as the tourist office is conveniently located on the ground floor of the building. Climbing the Rocca tower, accessible for a small €3.00 ticket, is absolutely worth it. The 360-degree view from the top is indescribable and made me fall in love with this place even more.

When you arrive, you'll immediately find unattended parking outside, also separated for campers and motorcycles. The official shop is located at the entrance, and is very interesting. To reach the artworks, there's a short climb that you have to climb on foot, as is the entire route. The entire garden has numerous benches and fountains, perfect for cooling off and relaxing. We recommend picking up the map, which includes a map of almost all the works you'll find along the way (we don't remember exactly how many there are). Moving from work to work, you'll complete the entire itinerary, and you'll have fun finding them all by following the map. In every corner, in every single space, you'll find extraordinary architectural and artistic elements. (Translated by Google) As soon as we arrived we immediately had a nice impression, the restaurant is truly a gem, the decor is tasteful. We started with a truly excellent entrée, and then continued with phenomenal appetizers, the tartare with panzanella was truly amazing. The first courses are no less: the tomato in the tortelli made me travel. Finally, we ordered a Florentine... the cooking was not as we had asked for. We wanted it rare but it arrived medium. Still good but not excellent. The wines we drank were the icing on the cake. The downside was the long wait between one course and another. The bill is definitely high but it's worth it. I live in Rome and would gladly travel 100km to dine here. Clean, comfortable, good service, nice beach, and good food. Showers and toilets available. Parking is expensive unless you park along the street and walk far. 500m of maintained public beach with wooden sidewalk. What a luxury! The VIP part is much more expensive, reservation recommended. Trattoria La Selva, established in 2004, is a popular spot known for its delectable local seafood and traditional Italian dishes. The menu features renowned items like the fried fish, Risotto Alla Pescatora, and daily fresh catch prepared in various styles by the chef. The restaurant offers a refined dining experience with a charming outdoor seating area. While prices are relatively high, patrons attest to receiving value for their money.
Warm Welcome and Delicious Lunch I stopped by for a solo lunch and was warmly welcomed right away. The service was genuinely kind and attentive, which made me feel very comfortable dining alone. Really REALLY disappointing evening - the food, the service, the lack of care! We were really looking forward to it because of reviews and yes the place inside is gorgeous, however, the food was the worst we have had in the last 10 days of staying in Tuscany! It was twice as much and half as good. (The chef still seems to use too much olive oil in the cooking as one reviewer said previously). Also the waiter who served us spoke quickly and we could sense a frustration that we didn't really speak Italian (and definitely weren't local). After we ordered our first course he completely ignored us and the junior waiters were sent over to clear our plates/deal with us. We gave up and just wanted out. We hadn't ordered wine as we had to drive back to our residence at night so that felt another "fault". What a complete disaster. Do they only like their locals?? (Who BTW bring their dogs which sit up on chairs?!) I have travelled the circumference of the world at least twice and never have I felt this disregard from another culture. We had booked the reservation on Fork.com to ensure we had a reservation, arrived on time, the maitre checked us off when we got there and then refused to grant the discount stated on the website, (while we have 3 confirmations to prove it but Management refused to accept it or even say they used the app). So even if we inaccurately booked, they seemed to be expecting us. With 12 € of service charges including the cover (and some other service) it's just SO disappointing from the other experiences we have had the past 2+weeks. Yeah, can you tell it really pissed me off?!

Wonderful fish and seafood restaurant. Friendly service too, including a great wine recommendation for a local Fiano.

Excellent restaurant. Fresh seafood. Best mussels I've ever had. They were small but all ideal. In other places some mussels are broken and you find pieces of shells. Not here. Frittura mista was ok but not great. Very sizable portion but too much flour or dough to my liking. There are places where you can find better. Monk fish was great although much smaller portion.

Even though the approach of the staff wasn't so gentle at the beginning I have to admit that I ate pretty well in this place. The sea salad was very good and the fish was fresh. I absolutely recommend it.

La Selva was such a brilliant find. Exceptional seafood, huge portions and very close to the main road! This was chosen as near our accommodation, and I wish we had time to go back. Some of the finest tuna tartare I’ve ever eaten. We were made to feel so welcome by staff and other guests. Sitting on the covered terrace was perfect!

Simply excellent! Food fresh, genuine and cooked with superb ability; service at level of a 3 stars restaurant; wine list more unique than rare...... Atmosphere elegant, but 'familiar' at the same time. In a few words: the place to go!!!!!

Very good food, prices are rather high but you get your money's worth! During high tourist season you will have to deal with a very full place due to the quality of the food and the amount of people that want to enjoy it. Just go there out of season and you will have a relaxed and tasty meal. 10/10 would recommend and go again!

Ice cream shop
If you're in the mood for some delightful gelato, make sure to visit Gusto Capalbio Gelateria, located just 3 kilometers away from Terre di Sacra. This charming ice-cream shop has garnered numerous positive reviews on Tripadvisor and is a favorite among locals and tourists alike. While the fruit flavors vary with the seasons, you can always count on finding classic flavors available. In addition to gelato, they also offer granita and crepes.
Real Gelato - was so much better than other pretentious places. Also very affordable, with a nice, large seating area outside. As a chocolate enthusiast I can only speak for their chocolaty selection and it was great! Will definitely come back next summer.

Exquisite ice cream of excellent quality. This shop is in my top three for Italian gelato. The service is super friendly and professional, and the place is very nice and clean. If you're in Capalbio, go!
