Restaurant
Located in the heart of Ios Chora, Lord Byron is a romantic restaurant offering a variety of Greek and Mediterranean dishes made with tasty ingredients brought back from the owners' travels. The warm and familiar ambiance makes it a convenient place to enjoy a good meal. Established in 1995, this restaurant offers modern dining experiences while serving huge portions of home-style food.
If you’re visiting Ios this has to be number one on your food list. Everything about this place is just wonderful. The staff are so welcoming and personable, going above and beyond - they never stop moving! And the food, wow. We had the pita and dip selection to start which was wonderful on its own, and then came the steak. The picture says enough. Everything is so reasonably priced considering what you get, pay in cash if you can and tip the hard-working servers! Thank you all so much!

Very fast service on drop-in on a Saturday, maybe I was lucky with visit. Pork chop is one of the best I have had. No strange saus they add for you like other places in Ios that destroys the taste completely, pure juicy pork chop. Very good salad and fries as well. Large portion. A bit pricey, but high quality.

Go, don’t skip this place, just go! The dipping the Taramasalata with Pita was to die for. Had the Salmon and Ricotta Ravioli special and it was delicious. Great spot, with great prices. The owner is lovely as well! Go enjoy a drink in the patio!

This place could be amazing if the owner was kinder. She’s so unwelcoming and unkind, it’s difficult to enjoy being here. The staff is AMAZING! And the kitchen crew is wonderful! The food is the best in Ios but the owner just so awful to her guests, we’ve seen many tables get up and leave upset. I keep trying to give them my business because the food is good but the awful, unkind woman who runs the place will genuinely ruin your holiday. We spent 300€ here and received terrible treatment. (Again waitresses are all amazing!!) I would advise going anywhere else on the island to eat

We had an amazing dinner here. The food was delicious and the portion sizes were great. Lots of their dishes are naturally gluten free and they have GF pitta too. As a coeliac this was great! The owner is coeliac too so I knew I was well catered for. Definitely recommend to anyone, including those with allergies or intolerances. We had the feta fondue, pork steak and pork kebab - all were incredible! The service was also excellent.

Interesting tapas place with great ambience inside, excellent yard for seating outside and impeccable service.

Update - two years later and still The best food in IOS! They really love to cook special tastes for the guests and for me it is still the ultimate must on the island! Don’t miss it! Old one - Always amazing! It is a real must in Ios island! Also the Waitress(Karema if I remember well) she is just a legend!!!!!! Don’t miss it

The Octopus Tree is a charming and distinctive eatery that showcases local wines and delicious tapas. This unique restaurant, which is operated by a family, offers both mezze and Greek cuisine that promotes relaxation. Situated on the port, The Octopus Tree provides not only delectable traditional dishes like fresh octopus and seafood but also an incredible waterfront view. Amongst all the mouthwatering options available here, the fried zucchini fritters stand out as an absolute delight.
We enjoyed our meal at The Octopus Tree so much we returned 2 days later! The food was delicious and the staff were so friendly, particularly towards our 10 month old baby who loved the attention. The sun sets over the harbour as you eat your dinner - wonderful!
Tessa B — Google review
Nice staff. Food was good. Unfortunately they only have marinated octopus option. Would be good to have grilled one. Good prices and good quality
Max M — Google review
Very disappointing experience. We were misled by the positive comments which are mostly from foreign tourists. The food was truly disappointing and bad even. We ordered the grilled shrimps which we not cooked enough as you can see in the picture and they were not cleaned at all (with the intestines inside), disgusting and tasteless. The Dakos salad was truly a horrible salad, with poor ingredients and a tomato that was not ripe enough..the garlic bread was also bad and truly not cooked by anyone that knows how to cook..only barely good plate was the fried calamari. As a Greek, the food served is a very bad example of Greek cuisine, and very pricey for the quality and portion sizes.

The Octopus Tree is another of the many great authentic restaurants that exist in Ios. The setting and atmosphere is unique and really cool being on the waters edge with a nice simple rustic charm about it. The menu is simple but has more than enough options to choose from and is great for sharing dishes. Every dish we have eaten there has also been delicious (and we have tried quite a few!) The staff are really friendly and welcoming- and also efficient. I just can’t fault the place in any way whatsoever and would highly recommend- it’s one of our regular ‘go to’ places whenever we visit.

This restaurant is one of the best on Ios. The food is exceptional while maintaining its authenticity. The service is friendly and professional; everything tastes amazing, including the house wine!

Amazing food. Simple and authentic. Family owned business, ran now by third generation. We went twice during our stay in Ios. The restaurant is small and located by the sea/port. Highly recommend it.

This is the most genuine restaurant in the port of Chora. Honest owners, very good dishes, and fresh, high-quality products. It was full every night. We came back twice!

Nestled in the heart of Ios Town, The Mills is a charming traditional restaurant that has been delighting diners since 1969. Located near the picturesque Mills Square, this eatery boasts a rich history and an inviting atmosphere that captures the essence of Greek hospitality. Visitors can expect to savor authentic flavors crafted with care, even when faced with unexpected challenges—like when Kyriakos whipped up a delightful meal on short notice!
Nice atmosphere and great Greek food. The sausages on fire (flambé) were excellent! 🙂The Mills salad is an unconventional dish with boiled potatoes, cheese and quite sweet sauce - you were warned! 🫢

We had a great dinner here. The veggie moussaka was delicious and the lamb on spit was 10/10. We also got a nice ice cream at the end of the meal. Water main meals and Tzatziki with bread all came to around €40.
Nicole A — Google review
I came here for dinner with a group and shared the fish platter between 3. It was excellent, especially the swordfish. It came with chips and salad but these arrived 20 minutes before our fish so the chips were cold by the time we had everything. Otherwise it was great. They have a gorgeous French bulldog called Diesel ❤️🐾
Grace G — Google review
Mills offers a wonderful dining experience with a nice view and delicious Greek food and Greek vibes. We tried the traditional moussaka and Ios local salad and their local creamy cheese, and it was amazing—rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The service was excellent, with great hospitality that made us feel welcome throughout our meal. As a lovely touch, we received complimentary ice cream at the end, which was a delightful way to finish. Highly recommended!

Lovely staff, nice foods. Recommended.

Pork & chicken gyros were extremely salty - to the point where it was borderline inedible. Service was really poor, waitress was quite unfriendly and took 45+ minutes to get food at 10 pm. Did have a very lovely ice cream after we finished dinner which was much appreciated!
Amy — Google review
This restaurant, along with the Octopus Tree and Polydoros, is one of the best on Ios. It boasts a beautiful, cozy, and romantic location just behind the windmills. The food is excellent, with authentic flavors. Be sure to try the Saganaki, which is prepared in a unique way here, flambéed with Ouzo! The service is also very good.
Pino A — Google review
Really bad. Frozen supermarket moussaka would have been better than the stodgy tasteless clay pot we got. Lamb on a spit, house specialty, was tough tasteless inedible mutton that only a goat could have chewed, maybe. Don't let the nice terrace by the windmills fool you, this is inexcusably bad.

It's a popular hotspot known for its cozy ambiance, friendly staff, and delectable food that offers a modern twist on traditional Greek cuisine. The restaurant's trendy decor and variety of creative decorations add to the overall experience.
The Food here is absolutely amazing most definitely the best restaurant I’ve eaten at in my whole trip so far it was so so good we came a second time. The owner is so sweet and lovely and the place is such a great vibe overall. definitely coming back next time!

The best restaurant of the island!!! Recommended by locals and we just know why: the dishes are absolutely delicious, typical grec food with an original touch that makes all the difference. The ambiance and decoration are amazing. Staff’s very attentive, professional and good vibes that makes you feel comfortable even if you need to wait a little to get a table. Just pay attention when you come by car: google maps makes you go to a narrow street witch you need to have luck to park closer. Then you can be lost on the little walk streets before to found the restaurant. Even this is nice. It’s really the best restaurant of the island. Go for it and you’ll never regret it and you’ll wish to come back to live the experience again

Amazing Greek tapas place, different, good vibes, colourful, tasteful, unique with people that love what they do! We went without booking and we wait around 1h for a table, what for us was no problem. We wait in the bar, drinker nice cocktails and enjoyed the lively atmosphere! The restaurant is spread between some rooms and a patio. The food was worth the wait and super delicious!! Highly recommended! You can call and book a table between certain hours. Loved it!

The food was just phenomenal!! I had the smoked chicken gryos then a deconstructed baklava with ice cream. A half litre house white for €9! Note to self must drink less... The food is definitely made for sharing so go with at least one other if you can. I saw sat near the kitchen and many dishes come out and suffered from food envy each and every time. The cocktail with a rubber duck sent me into giggles and childhood memories...Wasn't mine so can't name it. Service was friendly and unassuming. Feels like eating in the wonderfully quirky home of a close relative. I'll definitely be back at least once before I leave Ios. If you didn't notice, I more than highly recommend this gem of a place.

Great food. Amazing taste. Specially the tapas and octopus. The fries with mushrooms 10/10 We were waiting too long to seat but it was worth it.

“Absolutely amazing experience! The restaurant has such a welcoming atmosphere, and the owners make you feel like part of the family from the moment you walk in. Their positive energy and passion for what they do can be felt in every detail – from the delicious, homemade food to the cozy setting. They took the time to chat with us, share stories about the dishes, and made sure everything was perfect. This is the kind of place you want to keep coming back to – not just for the food, but for the genuine hospitality and good vibes!” Thank you Theodora and your amazing team!!

A must-visit Greek tapas bar in Ios. Katogi has a cool, stylish vibe that feels different from the traditional tavernas — refreshing and fun after days of classic Greek meals. The food was delicious, the drinks were great, and the service was fast and friendly. We got seats at the bar (the only ones left) and honestly didn’t mind — it made the whole experience even more lively. The place was packed, which says it all. The staff handle waves of tourists every night, so a little kindness goes a long way. Be patient, be nice, and you’ll get great service. If you’re in Chora and want something fun, tasty, and a little different, Katogi is the spot. Book ahead if you can — or get lucky like us at the bar.
Efri D — Google review
We had to wait about 45 minutes to get inside, and after being seated it took another 20 minutes before someone came to take our order. After ordering, it took 40 minutes for our drinks to arrive. We tried the Wasabi and Cucumber Gin — the taste was amazing — and the Köfteki, which was acceptable. I recommend reserving a table between 11:00 and 14:00, as the atmosphere can be very loud and crowded

Love Thai Me Up. One of the best coffee’s and Smoothies I’ve had in Greece. Great healthy options just before heading on to the ferry. I also enjoyed the Thai food as they cater to my gluten free dietary requirements.

Thai Me Up is a regular go to of mine. I love the avocado toast and poached egg for breakfast, and the smoothies are delicious! My favourite is the Cheeky Monkey🐒. I went there last night to celebrate a friend's Birthday, and we all loved our meals, and wonderful cocktails. I had the Sizzling Hot Plate....wow! The service was great...very friendly and polite staff. It's always nice to enjoy a lovely meal looking at the beautiful yachts moored on the quayside. If you're in Ios, I highly recommend you come and have breakfast or dinner here ❤️

The absolute best place to hang in the port....morning, noon and night! We started everyday of our holidays with a health busting smoothie and a hearty feed....late lunch of Lillie's fab Thai food and ending the day with Jo's amazing cocktails!!!! No better place to while away the hours!!!

Stumbled upon this Thai restaurant in the port of Ios and were so delighted with the range of options! Best pad Thai and green curry, the tempura shrimps also got us good! Everything was great, good spot to enjoy a cocktail at sunset! Thank you for your great service, will definitely be back!

We ate a Thai meal here the other night which was outstanding. Authentic flavours, carefully prepared and good serving size. Our waiter, Antoni, was super helpful and attentive, the location was lively, great music and protected from the wind too! Highly recommended 👌
