Took bus tour. Was great got to see the beach towns vs the inland area. See how that homes change. Being a peninsula, there is soot in town where it appears as an island with water in all 4 sides. Also went to the Carlos Paez Vilaro studio and museum. Excellent highly recommend. Some loca interestingl sites were pointed out and the food was really good.

This is a wonderful place. Not only you can enjoy the amazing views of punta del este, have a delicious fresh bite in one of the many restaurants next to the water or take a boat to one of the close by islands (isla gorriti and isla de lobos) but also you can see a beautiful display of sea agles and sea lions being fed by the fishermans who along the day clean their fresh catch (you can also buy fresh sea food) and throw the remains into the water creating a dinamic and amazing "dance" of these beautiful wild animals flying and swimming around the bay to eat.. This is a perfect example of harmony and beauty between the economical interests of a city and the wild animals that inhabit the surrinding areas. It is a perfect win-win ecosystem! And an amazing spectacle!!

Museo Ralli Punta del Este is a must see if you like the statues of Dali. The museum has quite a few of them. The rest of the collection is also really good. If you like art I can only recommend it!

I had come once and it seemed closed, I left a photo of the visiting periods of the year in my review, which varies a little during the year. I came in June, I emailed to find out the dates of groups coming to the museum and to join a scheduled visitor group. Plan to be there at least 2h, you'll be delighted with the art. Just visit! The Ralli museum was a real find! Open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., it is a place that without a doubt you have to visit during your day in Punta del Este. Admission is free, and offers a large number and variety of paintings and sculptures by Latin American and world artists, including Salvador Dalí. I recommend visiting the place in daylight to better appreciate the outdoor areas. The museum has a protocol for covid and bathrooms in good condition. Totally recommendable!

Neat experience, love that it’s free! Some paintings are beautifullll, and the optical illusion metal stuff was pretty neat too. Loved the old paintings from several hundred years ago as well. Lots of nude statues outside though, the only drawback here :(

Its a must go place when you are in Punta Del este , it is a private museum but they don't charge you any fees. I had been here on 17th Dec 2017 and it was a hot day, they had given us hand fans since it was hot. The staff speaks English, Spanish and I am not sure one more language and the collection here is really good. The artwork is so tasteful

First of five Ralli museums (the others are in Chile, Israel - 2 and Spain.) Awesome collection of Dali works on display: it's hard to believe that the admission is free. You can also see beautiful tributes to Marc Chagall, Alphonse Mucha, Bruegel the Elder and others. Don't take a trip to the museum as a part of a tour as you might not have enough time. Plan to spend at least 2 hours there.

Lo de Tere is a cozy, charming spot in Punta del Este that completely won us over. We went in the winter, and the warm, intimate ocean vibe was exactly what we needed. A quick tip: dinner in Uruguay starts late—if you show up at 8 PM like we did, you’ll have the place to yourself for a bit. By 9 PM on the dot, the room is packed and alive. We shared the plancha de langostinos salvajes—fresh, simple, and perfectly prepared. I had the lamb chops, cooked beautifully, and Elliott went for the grilled fish, which was light and flavorful. It’s a place that feels genuinely cared for—unpretentious, inviting, and delicious. We’d go back in a heartbeat.

Pros: The meal was a solid 10/10—perfectly cooked and delicious. Service: Just okay. Nothing special, but it did the job. Cons: One tiny air conditioner for the whole massive space? Looks like they’re cutting costs by turning the place into a sauna. Maybe in 2025 they’ll invest in comfort instead of making us sweat through our meal!

The meal went from a positively unremarkable first course to somewhat disappointing main course and desert. I felt that the culinary skills and the ingredients did not justify the lavish pricing. While service was very attentive the place is in great need of refurbishement.

We stopped in for lunch, got a great table overlooking the sidewalk and marina. The steaks were fantastic along with the deserts . Great place to relax , eat, and people watch .

Fancy restaurant with a varied menu. Not cheap but very good food. I had the rack of lamb that was delicious. Cooked just right. The stuffed potatoes could be more spiced and in a larger amount to better balance the meat and the side. Extensive wine list. Reservation is a must.

La Bourgogne is Michelin-worthy, no question about it. I’ve dined at Central in Lima, and honestly? La Bourgogne holds its own—or even surpasses it. If you’re in Punta del Este, skipping this place would be a crime against your taste buds!

The entree, a small desert and a plate of pastries were provided by the restaurant and had an excellent level of craftsmanship. Both main courses (three pepper steak and couscous) were incredible. The somelier gave us the perfect wine combination and we had an assortment of cheeses with marmalade that were the perfect ending for the night. Service was excellent and the place is like a hidden secluded garden ideal for a great night out. It is an upscale restaurant but it provided a wonderful experience that goes in line with the price range.

Place to avoid! Good for French food if you have never been to France. However, great foie gras! Never order fish here. Desserts are too expensive for what they are. Wines at high prices with very little curation work. 250€ for a mediocre dinner and drinks it is too much for me. It is kind of a tourist trap for high end foreign visitors.

Refined food in a chic but comfortable setting. Staff was top notch and chef was terrific and couteous in conversation and greeting us. You could see the dedication in each course of the meal. We orderef the chefs non traditional menu and couldnt be happier. The price is the most we have paid for a meal in Uruguay

A couple of years ago, I went to this restaurant with a friend. It is a rather high class, expensive restaurant. The staff were friendly, but the owner seemed to be extremely shy and didn't even bother to say hello despite the fact that I speak fluent French and know French cuisine quite well. The big problem came when it was time to pay. They said that my credit card did not work (a Swiss Visa card), but this card has never ever failed anywhere. In the end they demanded cash, which was a problem because I didn't have enough to pay the bill (expensive). Finally, I paid in several currencies, but it wiped out all my cash which is not very convenient when you are travelling. I ate an equally good (less elegant setting) meal quite close by at 1/10th the cost the next night. Needless to say, I would never go back to that restaurant. For food I would rate it 3 stars, but overall (service, ...), I would rate it zero -- thus the one star rating. After a bit of surfing, I suspect that the other reviewers are friends of the owner.

Great food and service. A nice option for tourists who need a break from eating steak for every meal. Got the seafood risotto and it was amazing. My only suggestion would be to have the menu be already in both English and Spanish. We didn’t need the English translation but it would be convenient for other visitors.

This is one of my favorite experiences on my recent trip to Punta del Este. It was a local recommendation and my wife and I loved it in every aspect. Warm setting. Very cozy and intimate. We had the octopus and the paella. Everything cooked to perfection. The service was incredibly helpful and attentive. I was really impressed with the wine list and the recommendations. They even had one of my local favorites, Garzon Tannat. The manager took the time to show us their small wine cellar in the back. What an amazing experience. It is one of the best sea food restaurants in Punta Del este , the food is little expensive but its good . Their staff is very helpful and they have a good knowledge of the food they are serving. They guide you with the kind of food you would want to eat.

Fondue was decent but one star is because I ordered a fish and it was dry and tasteless. Service was terrible and it took them forever to bring anything. Only eat the fondue stay away from everything else and make sure to be prepared for extremely slow service. Food was also the most expensive I’ve eaten in punta del este. High end restaurant. Expect prices to be as high as they get. Service is really attentive and nice. The potato rosti dish is a must have! Fondue was only ok. For the price we payed, we expected it to be better. The menu is also confusing, as you can switch everything up but it’s not clarified. We had a lovely evening but probably won’t come back as it is so expensive. It’s more of a one off experience.

We had beef bourgonon. Generous portions. One chunk was unchewable. Rest were perfect. 5 stars is perfection. Same for service. When it got very busy we had to refill our own plates. That never happens on normal nights. It's a very nice restaurant. Expect to pay USS100 a person. Came back May 13. CLOSED. No idea why. Went to El Palenque. It was open.

The food is average and relies more on the fondue experience than on taste. This would be fine if the service was decent, unfortunately tonight it was non existent. We had an early reservation at 20:30 and the place was empty yet the waitresses just stood talking to each other without bothering to look our way and see if we were ready to order. When the place filled up, they were running as if they were lost and not looking at the customers. We had to ask three times for a bottle of water and wait 20 min for it to be delivered. This seemed like the average waiting time for everything. Reheat the oil: 20 min. Get a waitress attention to get the bill: 20 min. Get the bill: 20 min. Charge to cc and get the receipt: 20 min. It's just not worth it. And that's not taking into account the prices that are on par with much better restaurants.

It is a traditional place in Punta del Este. Makes you feel you travelled to Switerland and cheese starts to flow in the form of fondue or raclette. Unmissable: papas rostí!!!!! Service is great.

My family and I are visiting from the Unites States and we made the execellent choice to visit Late Resto for dinner. The food, atmosphere, and staff were fantastic.
