Caverns & Caves
Mirror Stone Cave, also known as Gua Batu Cermin, is a captivating destination in Labuan Bajo. The entrance has been modernized, offering a pleasant walk and excellent guide service. It's recommended to visit in the morning to avoid crowds and high humidity levels. Visitors should bring their own flashlight for exploring the cave, and guides are available for those who want assistance navigating through narrow passages.
Lovely Tour! **Bring your own torch if you can** We visited this Cave through a tour organised by 'Seek Sophie'. Once there we were met by a lovely local guide who took us through the greenery (with the occasional monkeys) to the Cave and explained all the fossils and history behind this area. He kindly gave us some helmets that came with torches, but they weren't very bright, so luckily we had our own. Once equipped you'll duck crawl through some right spots to see an ancient fossilized turtle, beautiful caves and what are the most humongous crickets I've ever seen! It was great to experience the non-aquatic sights of Komodo. We enjoyed it!
Cynthia R — Google review
Not too bad for a cave visit. Won't take more than an hour to complete. We had a guide along which he brought along a LED torchlight. A certain part of the cave where you need to wear helmet. You need to squat and crawl into it for a part of the cave. We had the sun ray shining into the cave at a point. The guide was superb where he took many photos and videos for us without complaining. The mushroom rock is just a pitstop for photo.
Lee K — Google review
I went there in the afternoon before my flight to the airport. For only IDR 70k, I got an entrance ticket and a guide for the cave. They said that outside the cave, there’s a snake habitat, and some locals have formed a community that hunts them at night. The cave itself is dry and easy to explore for visitors. It's best to come around midday when the sunlight reflects beautifully inside the cave
Ossy S — Google review
Beautiful place, not overly big bit makes for a great day out. Bring a flashlight or use your phone. If you have trouble walking or knee issues you may want to skip this. There are snakes. Just saying.
Zsolt Z — Google review
Nice place. I recommend this place. Just be sure to visit at midday or a little bit later when it's sunny to be able to see the beauty of the cave inside with the reflection of the sun. The guys who works there as guides were friendly 💯
Skander C — Google review
An easily accessible and interesting cave with a cool fossilized turtle inside. Entrance for foreingers was Rp 50k. It's definitely worth visiting while you're in Labuan Bajo.
Grant C — Google review
Surprisingly fun!! I actually considered not going here because the pictures looked quite average, but definitely worth a trip! It's quite a short tour (30-45m). I most enjoyed entering the cave with a helmet (which was essential as there were many spots to knock your head). It was quite the mini adventure.
Bryan L — Google review
The cave it self is okay and good to see (but nothing special) for 30 - 60 minutes depending on how long you want to be there taking pictures. The guide is not needed, it is easy to find the cave as there is a clear road to it. Guides are lying and making a story about a fossil of the turtle, which is more a mimic of it, but not real. They can’t not name an approximate age of it, and you can clearly see the same structure of the rocks around a pseudo-fossil (a geological formation done by water and orange colour bacteria). Plus they could not show a scientific proof of it being a fossil:) so getting a guide is a scam.

Labuan Bajo fish market is a popular spot for tourists, offering a variety of warungs serving fresh seafood like fish, crab, lobster, and shellfish. Visitors can select their choice of seafood to be grilled and prepared. The market provides an opportunity to savor some of the best seafood in Indonesia at reasonable prices. It's a charming place where locals and tourists mingle, offering super fresh fish cooked on the grill at affordable prices.
Great sunsets but eating experience was not so good. Prices r hiked for tourists though wud be cheaper depending on where u r from. Most stalls wud quote similar pricing. 1st dinner, we had two fish but one was totally tough - loco! Paid abt 1.3 mil for dinner of 11 pax. Coconut was overpriced - 30k IDR 2nd dinner at a diff stall (warung) fish was ok. XXL crabs were not that fleshy even though we paid a premium price for them ( 300k/kg). We paid 1.8m for a dinner for 7pax. Svs was nothing to shout about. Both places charged 10% tax, which we refused to pay at d second warung. They accepted it when we challenged d invoice, hand-written on a blank paper. I think this is a tourist scam as they were just operating out of warungs (stall) n don't pay taxes. So beware!
Yeo's S — Google review
I had the freshest fish, cooked homestyle at Kedai Banerasa, along with delicious vegetables and a coconut. But many of the other stalls also looked very good. The price was very fair and I definitely look like a tourist, so I'm not sure what other people experienced to make them complain so much. I would definitely eat here again. There are also lovely views of the harbour here.
Elena S — Google review
Fresh seafood available, you can pick and weight then bargain with them. Good selection of fishes and good deal for the kind of seldom available in our country. Coconut is huge and sweet, service is ok, but if you want to eat there dont bother to wash your hair before that. Tiny roaches crawling around the floor sometimes up the table. Well, they sells food right? So... Its kind of normal, plus its by the sea.. cooking are more or less the same as we tried 2 different stalls. Sambal is different also depends on your preference.
Christina C — Google review
Even the China folks are smart to say the food here is expensive. We ordered 2 crabs, a fish and vegetables. The dishonest stall had swopped the crab to a smaller one with lesser meat. The cooking took almost an hour. They use coconut shell to cook but blew the smoke to the dining area. We ate once and was enough. Compare to Semporna, this is not worth it.
Lee K — Google review
Pick your fresh seafood and enquire the prices before you order how it’s to be cooked and side dishes. The seafood was super fresh and delicious yet affordable. You’ll be directed to sit at one of the benches at the back, be prepared to eat in smoke because there are so many stalls grilling bbqing the wind blows the smoke towards the seating area. I guess it adds to the local vibe! It’s really fun to eat here and the seafood was the highlight. Highly recommend everyone to try it out.
Michelle L — Google review
The seafoods are freshest at it gets. Very very large crabs. Service a bit slow. Expected. And very reasonable price. Just make sure you weigh and ask how much before agree to cook. And the area can be very smoky.
Goh R — Google review
You can try for the experience, but expect overpriced food priced like a tourist trap. Food wasn't particularly great either, lobster was super dry and hard, not succulent at all. Prices are inconsistent, better to just walk up the hill to Taman Laut.
Sherman O — Google review
If you are staying at Labuan Bajo, you have to spend an evening here to taste fresh fish and squid 🦑 cooked in the Indonesian style. The challenge is choosing the best shack. The shack we choose was very late to serve the food. Yet the taste was good.

Bar
When in Labuan Bajo, a visit to Paradise Bar is a must. This reggae-themed bar offers stunning views of the bay and ocean, making it the perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring. The lively atmosphere includes live music and a party vibe most nights, with Saturdays featuring a small cover charge. While some visitors find the drinks pricey, many appreciate the comfortable setting and friendly staff.
Great vibes, good music, and the best sunset view in Labuan Bajo. 🌅 Paradise Bar truly lives up to its name — it’s the kind of place where you can just relax with a drink, listen to live music, and watch the sky turn orange over the sea. The crowd is friendly, the staff are chill, and the atmosphere feels like a little island party. Perfect spot to end the night after a day of exploring or sailing.
Wani — Google review
Great views for the sunset but we were the only guests at 5pm. I ordered a mojito and banana milkshake, but they didn't have fruits. Also from the beers they only had Bintang, although in the menu there were many options. Also the menu that was given to us had plenty of missing pages and the waiter never came to our table, we had to look for him around the premise. Maybe it's better at night.
Danny P — Google review
Great location for watching the sunset, but the service left a lot to be desired. We rocked up right as they opened (5pm) and asked about a happy hour. The guy behind the counter said he could do us a happy hour (5pm-7pm) with a special gin-based drink. When we went to pay at the end, he told us it'd be the same price as normal, no reduced rate. What's the point of calling it a happy hour then? Go there and enjoy the drinks + sunset, but don't believe them if they say there are special deals on.
Rakhesh M — Google review
Great place to have a drink and enjoy sunset view. During night time they habe live music. Hope we can enjoy it during our next stay when we have more time.

Came for drinks. At 9 pm very empty, but filling up later. Fantastic view. Live band played, ok, nothing exciting. Airy space, friendly service

Literally the worst “nachos” and French fries I’ve ever had. Nachos tasted like decades old, stale Fritos and the salsa was some cousin of mayonnaise. The French fries were fried in butter? Idk still trying to figure that one out. Drinks were okay- not amazing but not nearly as offensive as the food. Great view though 🤌

Pizza restaurant
La Cucina in Labuan Bajo is a beloved family-owned Italian restaurant known for its inviting ambiance and authentic cuisine. The charming trattoria-style setting exudes a cozy Mediterranean atmosphere with maritime-inspired decor in blue and white. The focus on simplicity and elegance is reflected in the carefully prepared dishes, reminiscent of homemade Italian meals. This restaurant offers genuine Italian flavors that transport diners to the heart of Italy, making it a must-visit dining destination in Labuan Bajo.
We visited La Cucina Labuan Bajo, which is under the same management as Alma, and really enjoyed our time there. A big plus is that they provide a free shuttle from the hotel, which makes it super convenient. The food was delicious, portions were generous, and the prices very affordable — perfect for sharing and enjoying with friends and family. We had a lot of food and a great time. The owner is very friendly and welcoming, which added to the warm atmosphere. I would definitely come back next time I’m in Labuan Bajo.

I ate dinner here twice and both times I was very satisfied. The pizzas are delicious and a good size (if you get the largest size). The prices overall are pretty reasonable (bit more on the expensive side). Nevertheless I really enjoyed eating here with my friends and the staff was great!

la cucina is so popular among tourist. one of the best italian restaurant in bajo. ordered pizza, gnocchi, and spaghetti. they have large portion for just two of us. taste was good, cozy place. everything was nice :)
Jessica R — Google review
La Cucina is one of the most reliable spots in Labuan Bajo for authentic Italian comfort food. The pasta is always cooked perfectly, the sauces are rich and balanced, and their pizzas come out with that classic thin, crispy base that’s hard to find elsewhere. The ingredients taste fresh, the portions are generous, and the flavors stay consistent every visit. The atmosphere is cozy with a nice seaside vibe, making it great for a relaxed lunch or a slow dinner with friends. If you’re craving proper Italian food in Labuan Bajo, La Cucina is definitely a solid choice.

La Cucina is such a charming little gem! The cozy, inviting vibe makes you feel right at home. The food is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The staff are genuinely friendly and attentive, always making sure you have everything you need. A lovely spot worth coming back again!

I felt this place was over rated. It is super crowded in the evenings so be prepared for a long wait. Food was average, nothing to write home about. They have gluten free pizzas and pastas, though the staff didn't seem properly educated on what gluten free actually means. But if you have gluten allergy and miss pizza or pasta, here's an option for you. I ordered a mixed vegetable pizza and it was just ok. The tuna I ordered was very... passable. Their tiramisu was disappointing, pannacotta was great.
Ashwita G — Google review
Restaurant with a pretty interior. They offer a variety of Italian dishes, even freshly made pasta. The gnocchi I had tastes great, although the sauce could use a little bit more seasoning in my opinion. On the other hand, the oreo milkshake I had was great.
Charlie S — Google review
A group of happy, smiling, very polite young staff serve you really fast with food that loudly tells you to come back. Truly good and tasty lunch big enough if you are hungry. Not expensive. Real pizza, delicious spaghetti, amazing tiramisu and fresh juices that you remember long after. Recommend!

Japanese restaurant
Happy Banana Komodo, a Japanese fusion restaurant located in Labuan Bajo, is renowned for its delectable sushi and has earned a spot among the top five restaurants in the area on Tripadvisor. Visitors rave about the divine food, particularly the sushi and udon noodles. The menu offers many vegan options and unique variations of Buddha bowls such as the sea goddess' or geisha' bowls.
For whatever reason, there seems to be a lot of Japanese food on this island, and the Happy Banana does it super well. I was very happy to find a large selection of vegan items, including vegan katsu!! Not a common item to find. The food was wonderful, the service was quick and super nice, and some of the comfiest chairs I’ve sat in at a restaurant. For westerners looking for a break from the humidity- they had the AC blasting and was nice and cool after trekking back and forth with our bags and scuba gear. Would go again in a heartbeat.
Jason T — Google review
After several days eating Indonesian foods, it’s good to have a different cuisine. Salmon rolls was tasty but came with thin salmon. Noodle was topped with cooked tuna cube. The restaurant only serves tuna and salmon. I think that tuna is the best to be eaten raw not well done. As there is no pork on the island, therefore the noodles were quite limited for Japanese cuisine.
Sunyawit S — Google review
Please make yourself a favour and visit this place, not only they have tons of vegan options, they have a sustainable caught fish and eggs from free range. Additionally it’s led by all female team. The service is incredible and super nice, stuff speaks good English and are very friendly (I ordered cappuccino with oat milk, they gave me accidentally a cow milk instead and when I pointed it out they were super professional and solved the situation with zero stress and were very apologetic - exactly what you want in this scenario ❤️). Thank you so much and hopefully I will have a pleasure to visit again. Ahh and the tofu katsu wrap was incredible 🤤.

We ate here twice! Absolutely loved Happy Banana Komodo! Great vibes, friendly staff, and super fresh sushi and seafood. 🍣 The ramen is hands down the best in town — rich, flavorful, and so comforting after a long day exploring.

Very good food and lovely atmosphere and service. Great selection inc lots of veggie and vegan options, all day breakfast etc. Vegan poke bowl and veggie katsu bowl were amazing, smoothies all very good and fresh and coffee great too. Prices are decent for the quality and freshness. Good healthy food.

Great food, lovely service and nice vibes. The waitresses were all so friendly and quick- and the food was truly delicious. I had a tuna poke bowl which was bustling with flavour and colour! The tuna was clearly very fresh and delicious. Really would recommend this as a choice.

Artomoro Restaurant and Grill may not offer extravagant dishes, but it provides reasonably priced meals. It's a popular choice among local tourists seeking a step up from the night market. The Flores-style sambal, made with tomatoes and chilies, resembles a flavorful Mexican salsa with a spicy kick. This restaurant is located in Soekarno-Hatta, Labuan Bajo, Flores and offers Asian cuisine including barbecue and seafood for lunch and dinner.
I had an unforgettable dining experience at Artomoro Restaurant! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. The vibe of the place is cozy yet elegant, perfect for a relaxed lunch or a romantic dinner. But let’s talk about the food. absolutely delicious! Every dish was packed with rich, authentic flavors and beautifully presented. You can really taste the love and passion that goes into the cooking. Definitely one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time! And big shoutout to the waiters — super friendly, professional, and always attentive without being intrusive. They made the whole experience feel even more special. If you're in the area and looking for a place that serves great food with a great atmosphere, Artomoro is a must-visit! Can’t wait to come back again. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Overall experience from this place is amazing, great atmosphere, beautiful flowers everywhere, very clean environment and friendly waitress. The only disappointment was food 🫣 dry meat with sauce that tasted like tomatoes from canned sardines, and eggplant so oily you could squeeze it to the cup 🤦‍♂️ first time in few months in Indonesia where I really didn’t enjoy the food I was served.. but it could be just my taste 🤷‍♂️

It located just a few steps from our hotel. Just located in the heart of bustling city. The ambience was elegant, menu has a lot ot varieties. Seafood was so fresh. The price is ok for a local restaurants. Not so cheap but not so expensive. People are very kind.

Good view from the upper floor and good design interior as well. But I think they have to improve the menu variety. Indonesian/Asian menu is not available. They don't even have pasta on their menus. And yes please add light meals because some people doesn't comes here for a heavy one.

Nice location, great food, ambient music.. but the drink prices with added tax at 16% is extortionate even for a water. Everything else even the service provided was top notch. Taman Laut Handayani Seafood Restaurant in Labuan Bajo is a great choice for seafood enthusiasts looking for a delightful dining experience with a view. While the seafood may not be the absolute best in town, it is still of good quality and reasonably priced, especially when considering the breathtaking scenery from their terrace. We had dinner here on our last night in Labuan Bajo. The restaurant was spacious and has fine dining vibes. We were lucky got seat with view overlooking the city below. It was beautiful. The waitress were friendly and accommodating. Really impressed with their top notch service. Food were delicious and fresh with affordble price and enough portions. It even cheaper than you eat at fish market. They also have clean toilet, which I found plus point.

Had the best solo Birthday dinner here. Ordered a little way to much for myself but who cares. I only turn 44 once. Service was great. The waiter even told me if i ordered too much. The view of the sunset was the highlight of the evening. During peak season, better make a reservation for your spot viewing the sunset.

Great food, no joke best fried cuttlefish I had! so tender inside crispy outside and I could finish a whole plate by myself. Came on two days and the fish is really good too, first time having fish bbq and the fish with lychee sauce is also good. Chicken satay was a bit dry since they didn't use chicken thigh/leg I suspect its breast meat. The soup was really good tastes like thai curry! The sunset view here is also gorgeous highly recommended!

Great food with awesome views of the bay. We had the chilli squid, garlic shrimp and a banana flower & papaya flower veg combo. The squid was a little bit tough and fiery, but the shrimp was excellent. The veg is a bit of an acquired taste, a little bitter but not bad. We washed down the meal with an avocado chocolate drink whilst enjoying the superb view and ocean breeze. Prices are reasonable for a seafood restaurant.

I ordered 4 main dishes: cumi bakar madu (honey-grilled squid), udang saus mentega (prawns in butter sauce), tumis kangkung bunga pepaya (stir-fried kangkung with papaya flowers), and ikan bakar dua rasa (grilled fish with two flavors— rica and parape). And of course, as any Indonesian would, I had to get sambal pencit to go with the grilled fish. Every dish was tasty and flavorful. My personal favorites were the prawns in butter sauce and the parape-style grilled fish—perfectly seasoned! Overall, I’d definitely recommend dining here. Plus, the view is absolutely beautiful 🌊✨
