Domaine Romanée Conti is a dream destination for wine enthusiasts, located north of Nuits-Saint-Georges in the renowned Burgundy region. The area boasts a long string of red grand crus, including Romanee-Conti and Chambertin. Visitors can enjoy the picturesque vineyards and may even have the chance to meet local experts and experience the charming atmosphere.
Yes, you will just see their vineyard, and that's it... but as a wine lover, that's no way to miss this opportunity.
Douglas C — Google review
It was a wonderful experience to once walk along the vineyards to this destination, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti.
Montakarn K — Google review
"Those people are mean. I asked for 50 bottles of Romanée-Conti out of the 450 they had, and they refused to sell it, saying someone had reserved it—it turned out to be some rich guy. I had no choice but to hang my head low and cry in silence. It's just not fair, especially considering how expensive it is at auction."
Emma M — Google review
Here the legend starts. I have always wanted to visit these places.

As a wine fan, this is a place you must visit
Po-Chao S — Google review
Despite its longstanding fame, the vineyard is reserved and unassuming. The contrast between the seeming humility of the land and the spectacular pomp surrounding its wine adds a layer of depth and complexity to the natural beauty of the landscape.
John C — Google review
Beautiful sweet smells and great atmosphere with great wine very expensive great wine under the 3k a bottle I pay in America though... France is beautiful in August suggest it to anyone and especially Domaine Romanée-Conti wonderful time, wonderful people, beautiful women, cool guys... Visiting is worth the cost of you got it do it if you don't get it for real

History Museums
The Musée de Nuits-Saint-Georges, located in a former wine cellar, offers free admission as part of the town's commitment to making history and museums accessible to everyone. The museum showcases a wide range of artifacts, including Roman objects and medieval items, providing insights into the town's past and the broader Burgundy region. Additionally, it houses archaeological collections from discoveries at the Bolards site and features remarkable Merovingian furniture found during excavations in the Nuits area.
(Translated by Google) The Nuits-Saint-Georges Museum, housed in a former private mansion, is a place where local history is revealed with simplicity. Its rooms bring together archaeological remains, sacred art objects, paintings, and testimonies of daily life. Each room tells the story of a part of the region, from its Gallo-Roman roots to its winemaking tradition. We wander through it as if in a shared memory, between ancient stones and discreet lights, and we leave with the impression of having touched the soul of Burgundy. Castle
Sights & Landmarks
The Chateau du Clos de Vougeot is a castle that was constructed by Cistercian monks in the 12th century, and although it wasn't completed until the Renaissance, it still provides a glimpse into that time period. Wine cellars, original wine presses and vat houses are just some of the historical features on display at this museum-like attraction. The famous "clos" produced wine for these monks centuries ago and now has been divided into smaller parcels for modern production.
Working as a wedding & events photographer, I have had the chance to photograph in the most prestigious castle in Burgundy "The Clos Vougeot" a building full of history & traditions, guarded by the brotherhood of "The Knights of the Tastevin" The receptionist do a great job, specially the young man. It can be visited over the day and also the venue can host events on weddings. Great place to host the cocktail and dinner for your wedding, not far from the church local churches and city town halls if you get married locally. The most beautiful & prestigious vineyard in Burgundy & the world!

An incredible area, the testimony of a heritage, that of the Burgundian monastic orders. A real embassy for Burgundy around the world, dedicated to fantastic wines and gastronomy. You can eat there at La Table de Leonce, discovering the talent of the Chef Alexandra Bouvret. Currently and until next April, there is an exhibition celebrating Brillat-Savarin, a fine gastronome and renowned culinary author. You need to go and Visit this particular castle if you search to understand the burgundy and French history and soul ! You will be delighted !

I booked a tour and tasting. It was great. Very informative. The gentleman answered all of my many questions and took his time with both myself and my wife. It was quite something to tour the chateau.

We had the chance to visit Château du Clos Vougeot, a historic landmark in France’s Burgundy region, renowned worldwide as a symbol of Grand Cru wines from the Côte de Nuits. With its long, rich history and cultural significance, it is truly a must-visit destination when traveling in this area.
Montakarn K — Google review
I had a really wonderful experience attending an event here. It is lovely and charming place for special events. The staff were wonderfully pleasant. Highly recommended.
Donna — Google review
We did the guided tour, I loved our guide ! She talked with so much passion about the life of the castle and it was interesting throughout the whole tour.
Maryal C — Google review
We paid €12 per person to enter... a quite small exhibition. There were 10-15 points of interest, but only the gigantic medieval grape presses were actually worth seeing (I include a picture in this review so you don't have to go yourself). English information was lacking throughout, the leaflet seemed to number the exhibits out of order with the reality. We would not go again. The castle itself is situated in a beautiful area and the drive there was really nice! We should have gone for a walk around on the outside instead.

Le Cassissium, located in Nuits-Saint-Georges's eastern outskirts, is a must-visit for black currant enthusiasts. The area is home to two artisanal cassis makers, offering workshops and tastings. Visitors can also explore the Romanesque church of Saint Symphorium and the Le Cassissium Museum, as well as learn about wine production at L'Imaginarium.
Be sure to try tasting the currant liqueur. And be sure to try tasting a fifteen percent liqueur and a twenty percent liqueur to understand how much better the 20% tastes and is richer. The price difference is small. If you've ever been to a winery and taken a tour, then a tour is not necessary. Only if you really want it. We love excursions so we visited here. The production of currant liqueur in such quantity and quality is definitely one of a kind. So if you are in the region, be sure to visit. I liked the service.

Did a cocktail making class with them during the off season. They were very nice to accommodate us even though nothing was scheduled. A 'must see' attraction for the family. Plenty of free parking, and wheel chair friendly entrance at La Cassissium. The wonderful smells of fruit fill the factory. Huge fruit pressed, mega barrels, bigger than a swimming pool with special fruity drinks maturing. Fun for kids too with lots of drawers to open, test-tubes of fruit syrups, bugs that live on fruit. The fun was trying the different flavours in the bar guided by Auroare, who knew everything about fruity drinks!
Stuart B — Google review
Excellent museum about the history of cassis and black currant production. Exquisite design, helpful employees and the opportunity to taste-test sirups after the tour. Well-sorted shop with all 49 produced sirups besides the cassis, some of them difficult to find elsewhere. Recommended!

Lots of drinks to try and they’re all good! The personnel were knowledgeable of their products and there is a wide selection of those as well.

Our family of 5 had an enjoyable time at Le Cassissium. Although we missed out on the tour, we had a splendid Cassis liquor tasting experience thanks to our host, Jules. Jules was fluent in English and knowledgeable as he answered our many questions. He was also very friendly and enthusiastically introduced us to different combinations of blackcurrant/ cassis liquours. Thanks very much Jules!

Le Relais Du Grepissot is a charming countryside restaurant located in the cote above Vosne-Romanee. It offers authentic and delicious regional dishes served with love and consideration. The menu, priced at 27 or 32 euros, provides very good food choices, slightly on the rustic side, in a stunning location surrounded by vineyards. The friendly hosts ensure a pleasant dining experience with their nice service and local feel.

La Cabotte is an excellent restaurant located in Nuits-Saint-Georges, offering typical dishes of Burgundy such as eggs meurettes and Burgundy beef. The service is fast and efficient, and the cozy room upstairs provides a pleasant dining atmosphere. However, it's not ideal for those on a small budget. The menu offers two options without an entry, including a glass of wine, two dishes, a cheese plate, and gourmet coffee.
La Cabotte’s extremely competent food menu is a perfect match for a thoroughly rich wine list. The place only has a handful of tables and a cosy dining room on the first floor and is buzzy with wine lovers, especially this last weekend for the diner du Chapitre, celebrating its 90th anniversary in grand pomp at Chateau de Clos Vougeot. The filet mignon was remarkable, as was the porc main course, and the jamon iberico to start with, together with other delicious classics. Our wine selection certainly didn’t pale either, beginning with Agrapart champagne brut 7 crus, followed by Les Saint George by T. Liger Belair and Bourgogne by Leroy. All in all, a wonderful lunch preceding the evening festivities!
R P — Google review
In early April we spent 2 nights in the area, we were looking for a lunch place and had our sight set on another restaurant in town that was very highly rated, but they turned us down because we had our dogs with us. Alas we stopped into La Cabotte and had the best meal imaginable with attentive and pleasant service and a warm atmosphere. The wine choices were perfect for my wife and I while she had the trout, I enjoyed the delicious Iberian pork. We ended up staying longer (and drinking more) than we planned but it was well worth it. Welcoming, clean, cozy, excellent presentation and high quality food and drink. After spending more than 2 months in France, I can say this was one of the best meals we had, highly recommended!

On our last night, we decided to go to Saint George for dinner. It was quite late yet, there was a table outside for five and a big dog. One of us didn’t want dinner, just went straight to dessert. Food was delicious. No veg meal on the menu, but they worked something out. It was tasty, albeit, lacked complete protein (as usual in the area). Service was friendly and accommodating, although the waitress was a little bit too aggressive at times. The sommelier was on spot in his recommendation.
Jessica V — Google review
Cold and damp so entire table had Boeuf Bourguignon and simple salad made with delicious local lettuces and a subtle vinegarette. Beef was succulent and not overly salty. Mashed potatoes light and airy, full of potato flavor. Extensive wine list. Some hard to find, expensive bottles from Rousseau, Dujac, etc. We found a well-priced 2016 Jean Tardy Nuits Saint George's 1er Cru Aux Argillas. Finished with excellent and hot Caffè Gourmand.
Zach S — Google review
Charlie and Amelie were amazing. Tell Charlie what you like in a Bougogne Blanc oo Rouge and he will bring you an over the top wine for a great price. Plus, every course/food selection may have been the best we have had in Burgundy! We'll be back!

Happened upon this restaurant while staying in Nuits-Saint-Georges during our road trip to south of France. Our hotel's manager recommended the place to us and we're glad she did. Wonderful food and ambiance at a reasonable price point. Our waitress's English was a little rusty, but she tried her best and was very warm and welcoming. Would recommend to anyone traveling in the area.

Le Grenier a Sel is a gastronomic restaurant located in Chambolle-Musigny, a village known for its vineyards. Visitors have praised the poached eggs with epoisse sauce and mushrooms as a delightful starter, while also enjoying the snails and main courses like chicken supreme and beef bourguignon. The ambiance offers ample space between tables, and the service has been described as friendly.
My husband and I ordered from opposite ends of the menu—he chose the hearty roasted pork, while I opted for a light, summery dish—and both turned out to be perfect choices. Lunch was beautifully prepared, the service flawless, and the wine absolutely delicious.

The food is OK, i especially liked the eggs with the epoisse sauce. the boeuf bourguignon and the porc cheek where nothing special I actually preferred the one I do my self. The service is super nice, the lady is very friendly. The atmosphere is nice, lots of space between the tables.

We had booked to eat at the restaurant via The Fork and had confirmation that the booking had been made back in May. When we arrived the restaurant said that they had cancelled the booking because they did not use the Fork anymore. Nobody had the courtesy to let us know that the booking had been cancelled - this is the responsibility of the restaurant and we felt very disappointed by the attitude of the staff. Shrug of the shoulders and no attempt to offer us a table. No idea if the food is good as we had to find an alternative place to eat.

Service very friendly but slow. Wine competency low, the varaiaty of open wines very small. All in all very pricey and the food looks amazing but the taste was very disappointing (braised beef was hard).

Café de la Gare is a delightful gem that perfectly captures the essence of a traditional French dining experience. Nestled just a short stroll from the town center, this charming café welcomes guests with its retro ambiance and warm hospitality. Whether you're stopping by for lunch on your way to the Alps or enjoying a leisurely meal, you'll be treated to an array of delicious dishes that feel like home-cooked meals.
A pleasant surprise 15 minutes walk from the the center of town. The day we visited, two 15€ fix price specials were on offer, the first was Veal Marengo, the second a sausage dish. We both had the veal, with a buffet of potato salad, ham salad, ham, shredded carrots to fill out your plat. The veal shoulder was very tender, served with rice and overall excellent. Portions were ample. Well worth the visit.

It’s a truly wonderful place – with décor that reflects the owner’s taste, a buffet of appetizers, and delicious main dishes. I was very satisfied with the whole experience.

We stopped here for lunch on our way to the Alps, it’s about 2 minutes off the A31. Lovely friendly owners, they even translated and wrote down the Plat du Jour in English for us. Food was tasty, buffet starter with different salads and, our main was a grilled pork steak with a generous helping of green beans, and a homemade crème caramel to finish. This felt like a typical “French” lunch spot, with great food and a friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend.
Andrew D — Google review
We stopped by for a quick breakfast and coffee. The place is cozy and nicely decorated. It is close to the railway lines and not situated in the middle of the town. There are hardly any tourists but plenty of locals, which is always a good sign. The breakfast was (typical for france) sweet and small, but you get to choose the kind of juice and coffee that you like. We didn’t try the food, but there are always two dishes of the day to choose from for just 13€ and when we left there was a large group of construction workers settling in for lunch. So I’d expect the portions to be generous. All in all a recommendation. Especially if you‘d like to mix with the locals.

Hotel
The ibis Nuits-Saint-Georges is a casual property conveniently located near the A6 highway, just 500 meters from the SNCF train station and 200 meters from the town center. The hotel offers 56 rooms, including options for guests with reduced mobility and families. All rooms are equipped with air conditioning, heating, and Canal+ TV. While some guests found the rooms to be small and overly heated, others appreciated the cleanliness and comfort.
The receptionist that checked us in was very helpful and even made some "Tosti's" (Crox monsignor (?)) even while the kitchen was closed on Sunday. But the bed was very hard too sleep on. But I will stay there again, because the town itself has very nice restaurants.
Erik K — Google review
It is no frills, but most everything you need. Good water pressure, crisp clean sheets, decent breakfast (limited gluten free options) and friendly hosts. Its a good hotel for stopping over on your way up or down France.
AJ G — Google review
I’m giving this ibis a low score because it said pet friendly, I then had to pay €10 for my dog who is a retired guide dog and very calm, And I don’t know what that €10 was for because we weren’t allowed to have a meal with him in the restaurant and we weren’t allowed to have breakfast with him in the morning although I paid for that. Very poor I strongly advise you not to visit this ibis with a dog. I have stayed in hotels all over France where dogs are welcome in the restaurant and and are rarely charged for staying at a hotel.
Ron L — Google review
We were here for the third time but the reception and service (especially seeing the customer) was very bad with this gentleman at the counter/restaurant. We initially wanted to order a pizza but after waiting 30 minutes we went somewhere else to eat. The lady who provided breakfast in the morning was great and deserves all the praise!!!
Maris A — Google review
We stayed two nights as a family of four in a family room at the ibis Nuits-Saint-Georges. The room was spacious and, most importantly, clean – which we really appreciated. However, the furnishings were a bit basic. The hotel has a great location between Beaune and Dijon and even offers EV charging, which was very convenient. The breakfast buffet was tasty, though the staff seemed overwhelmed – items were often missing and there were long wait times to get things restocked. Overall: a clean and well-located hotel with good potential, but improvements in service and organization would make a big difference.
Daniel ( — Google review
Great location : Very easy to get to from the highway then walk to the heart of the village in a few minutes. Room and bath were perfectly clean. Food is cafeteria grade, not that great. Management is that cheap they don't honor the All Member welcome drink: sodas or coffee allowed, while you're staying in Pinot Noir and Chardonnay heaven. How sad.

Expierence was good. Room had a modern style and was clean. While booking the site mentioned a bathtub present, but at location the reception mentioned none of the rooms have that after renovations.

The hotel is close to the motorway so perfect for the UK-south of France drive. It has free parking & fast wifi. It is also walking distance to Nuits St. George which has numerous restaurants and wine cellars. Our only comment is that the rooms are very small but we had a very comfortable night. It was excellent value for money.
