The Musée des Arts du Sucre et du Chocolat is a small but delightful museum located in front of the big covered market. It showcases various sugar and chocolate art pieces, spanning from the middle ages to modern technologies. Visitors can enjoy short films about preparation and indulge in a small tasting session after the tour. The staff is known for being friendly and informative, adding to the overall enjoyable experience.
Very interesting. Amazing chocolate pieces.

One of the best ice-cream shops I have ever been to, could easily compete with the best Italian ice-cream parlours. Highly recommend salted caramel (perfect creamy texture), chocolate, alphonso mango and pink grapefruit (very refreshing and not too sweet). Great that all ice creams are made in-house.
Rodolfo A — Google review
Small but nice museum with friendly staff, some wonderful pieces of sugar- and chocolate art on display plus some short films playing about preparation. Small degustation afterwards is awesome and on itself already worth the entrance fee
Michel V — Google review
A fine and substantial collection of spun sugar art, mainly statuettes of real and imagined figures, master Thuries probably best of kind. Not much interpretation or results of chocolate making though there are plenty to buy. Sometimes there are confectionery demonstrations and free samples though if busy you can wait a while for your turn. Is it worth the money? Not for me but my wife liked it and the granddaughters loved the figures. Takes about half an hour.

The Musée Charles Portal in Cordes is a historical museum that puts a strong emphasis on the city's past, particularly its embroiderers and weavers. While it can be explored independently, taking a guided tour is highly recommended as it offers more insights and depth to the exhibits. The enthusiastic receptionist adds an extra layer of excitement to the visit.

(Translated by Google) At the back of the Charles Portal Museum, you can admire an impressive medieval freight elevator. This ingenious device used a large wooden wheel powered by human power: by walking inside, a rope was wound to hoist heavy loads to the top of the ramparts. A beautiful reconstruction that recalls the know-how of yesteryear and the daily life of the city's builders. Porte de l'Horloge is a charming old town gate that marks the fourth fortification line of Cordes-sur-Ciel. The gate offers a lovely view over the Bouteillerie neighborhood and leads to cobbled streets lined with colorful buildings. This 13th to 18th-century walled city is beautifully preserved, making it one of the most beautiful villages in France.
Lovely place to visit. Cordes sur Ciel the charming old town. Local artists show their crafts. Good restaurants invite you to sit down and enjoy the atmosphere.

Beyond this gate is a wonderful village Cordes-sur-ciel (upon sky!) was built at the beginning of the 13th century by Raymond VII Count of Toulouse. As every “Bastide”, Cordes was located and designed to be easy to defend in these troubled times. This gate was a way to enter the outside walls. It’s lovely to see but the best stands inside and uphill. Do not forget to wear confortable shoes as the slope is stiff.

Manufacture Gourmande is a charming spot where locals can always find new surprises on the menu. Whether you're craving homemade pastries, delightful sandwiches, or a peaceful atmosphere, this place has got you covered. It's located near other French cuisine restaurants like L'epicentre and offers a variety of delectable dishes. Visitors praise the homemade offerings and friendly service, recommending it as a great place to enjoy simple yet well-prepared meals with a lovely view of Occitanie.
I popped in by chance on my second day in Cordes Sur Ciel while out exploring and on the hunt for a light late lunch of some kind. Most places seem to close for a few hours in the afternoons so given it was 4.20pm I was hungry and loosing hope after trying a few other places. I ordered a slice of vegetarian quiche and they asked if I’d like a salad with it. The staff were so kind and joyous, seeming happy to be practicing some English, which is a pleasant change from many other establishments which seem to have a bit of distance towards tourists. Anyway they were so kind and funny, happy to help and served up a stunningly delicious quiche! They have a lovely little terrace around the corner that I sat at and watched the scenery. After reading other reviews I decided to pop back and buy some of the biscuits and confirm they are amazing! I’ll be buying more to take home with me. Well worth a visit while in Cordes!!! Thank you 😊

Here you can find gluten free crêpes made from chestnut flour (suitable for celiacs)! All the crêpes they offer are made from that flour so there’s no chance for cross-contamination. There are four options: sugar, jam, Nutella or chestnut crème. We tried the Nutella one and it was very good!

Billyssimo Pizzeria is a charming restaurant known for its excellent food and friendly service. Despite its unassuming appearance, the hospitable staff and delicious dishes make it a delightful dining spot. Whether visiting as a couple or with a group, patrons can expect quick and amiable service. The pizzeria's location near Cordes sur Ciel makes it convenient for visitors to enjoy tasty Italian cuisine at reasonable prices.
A lovely place! We thought perhaps a little unprepossessing at first glance, but after a friendly greeting and a really tasty main dish (Spag Carbonara) we warmed to it. The dessert was out of this world (poivre belle Hélène) ...so we'd come again!
Graham H — Google review
Very blah place--pizza without taste, service without a spark, location without any charm. I've had better pizza made from the packages sold at my local supermarket. Apparently, good food in France is harder to come by than one might imagine--so book places in advance... and, seriously, avoid pizza... France is not the place to eat it.
Konstantine S — Google review
not sure what the standards are for pizzas in France, but was frankly dissapointed. My shop frozen pizza tastes better. I mean, I'm no Italian, but I can make a better dough at home. Maybe it was just my luck, but I'm definitely not coming back. Friendly service! I'd say it's more of a "canteen" than pizzaria.

Restaurant
Le Bistrot Cordais is perceived as overpriced, with a frozen entrecote and fries priced at 23 euros and a burger deemed less valuable than its 20 euro cost. The ambiance resembles a cafeteria, contrary to the enticing photos. However, the place offers an authentic local experience with a lively atmosphere, attentive service, and reasonable prices. It is ideal for casual lunches featuring a choice between the daily special or pizza.
Place was absolutely perfect. Read a bunch of one star reviews and was hesitant. Once I arrived, I realized that the place was the local spot in town, rather than the overpriced tourist cantinas at the top of the hill. Instead of entitled English voices enjoying a whinging complaint fest, we got locals, proper atmosphere and great service. And good prices. Love it.
Matt G — Google review
We only had a drink here and as the only customers it was hard to say it had a good atmosphere. The frontage doesn't give much away, but there is a nice terrace with great views at the back and plenty of tables set out for dinner. Worth a try in my opinion.
Paul M — Google review
Really disappointed with this place. It has the most amazing view in town but the staff are incredibly rude. Although there were more than 20 tables empty; when the waitress realised that we only wanted a drink and were not eating; she practically spat at us, stating it’s food only and we shouldn’t have come here for drinks. This came across very aggressively and made us feel uncomfortable for being there. We were going to come back for a pizza another evening but definitely won’t be now.
Katie B — Google review
Small little place where you can take a lunch. Nice staff, the menu is a classic plate of the day or pizza. Very good food anyway.
Alex J — Google review
The food here is ok, the price is fine. The view is really nice. It's pretty busy which has a negative impact on the service, if you're not careful you can be forgotten. They seem to have an extended service so if you're running late and have missed the other restaurants it's worth a go. .... Eight hours later I'm sitting on the toilet and revising this review..,. Not good!
Gene H — Google review
At 13.30 pm, an aggressive waitress refused to allow us eating She told us “ chef est mort” which translates in chef is dead but then corrected and said, he will no longer cook Never had such an experience I insisted for getting a salad- so no cooking- it was just as bad
Cristina S — Google review
Don't be fooled by the rather unprepossessing exterior. The food was excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful to our big group. Everything is home made, the confit was not overly fatty and was very flavorful, the profiteroles the lightest I've ever eaten and all the other food looked equally good. Added bonus - huge baby change table in the toilets.
Claire N — Google review
Don’t go there, it’s a silly place. Best ingredient was the view ( which is quite spectacular). I’ve left them with a pizza dough recipe, as the dough they use clearly comes from a roll bought at the local E. Leclerc. One can only try. Oh yes, and did I tell you not to go there? It’s a silly place.

A delightful Plat de Jour in a most wonderful setting. Service was excellent!
Andrew M — Google review
The menu outside misleadingly said all coffees were 2.5€. I got a cappuccino and they charged me 5€ (only expresso are 2.5€…)!!!! When I explained the confusion, they did nothing about it. On top of it, the cappuccino was really bad: burnt coffee with tiny bit of milk foam on top.
Anne V — Google review
No menu, only on the sign outside. We asked about charcuterie which they were not able to understand (but have on the menu), and the owner or whoever came over and barked at us that they have four things, because we apparently did not decide fast enough for them, pointed at us and assigned us what we would eat, said OK and walked off. We immediately left the restaurant, I am disappointed that we had already ordered a glass of wine and had to pay for it. Tourist trap and they treat you like cattle.
Katelyn N — Google review
I should've looked at the reviews beforehand. We came for simple crepes and they were just really really bad. They tasted old and warmed up. The framboise one had a tiny drop of some sort of marmalade from the supermarket. Just another classic tourist trap that's still there because they were lucky enough to get a good spot, but will never bother to offer any sort of good food. To avoid.
Guillermo L — Google review
The food is disgusting and inedible. Service is nonexistent. Also very overpriced. It's a shame because the town is beautiful, restaurant is a disgrace to the beaux village. Definitely avoid!

We had the experience to stumble upon this wonderful place frozen in time in this magical town. The food was beyond amazing and we don’t understand why it’s so utterly poorly reviewed considering that everything we had was absolutely flawless, my wife and I shared a really wonderful meal, the service was quick and attentive and everything surpassed our expectations in an esplendid manner.
Marco A — Google review
The food was extremely overpriced for what it was. I would suggest one of the other restaurants in the area

We came for lunch and I was quite apprehensive seeing the reviews, but we still ate here anyway as there weren't many options around. Not sure of the bad ratings but maybe we came on a good day.

Nestled in the charming town of Cordes-sur-Ciel, "Sur les pavés" is a delightful vegetarian restaurant that has quickly become a favorite among locals and visitors alike. Established by a group of seven culinary enthusiasts, this eatery offers a set menu that showcases an array of delicious dishes crafted with fresh ingredients. The cozy atmosphere makes it an inviting spot to enjoy your meal, and the owner’s warm hospitality adds to the experience.
This place is a hidden gem. Both in location and taste. It is a 100% vegetarian restaurant but don't let that turn you away. The food is amazing. The cook is able to combine so many different flavours and elements into a balanced and delicious meal. The price is more than affordable. 2 meals + desserts and drinks was 43 euros. I can't wait to come back and try a different menu!

The type of restaurant that one might pass by but, that would be a mistake. There is only the one main plate on offer each day, and no other menu choices. That is not a bad thing as the food served is wonderful, full of a variety of flavors and expertly prepared. Choice of local organic wines and artisan beers and locally produced ice creams and sorbets. Even the coffee is good.

Glad we walked in here - simple, but sweet. It has a set menu, so you get what is offered, but it has some diversity and everything was delicious, great place for us considering it can be difficult to find vegetarian dishes throughout France - the owner/manager was awesome and it had a cozy atmosphere and also was reasonably priced. But you gotta do cash, no credit card, ATM is just down the road though. Overall, awesome.

Sarl les Arcades Isabelle is a restaurant that offers a variety of dishes such as crepes, omelettes, salads, galettes, duck leg, and sausage. Despite some concerns from bad reviews, many customers were pleasantly surprised by the fast and polite service, large food portions, and overall pleasant experience. The setting of the restaurant was also described as lovely.
Homemade local food, duck was delicious 👌🏻 Center location. Even we do not know French commutation was very nice and we tried to understand each other. Our dog was also very welcomed ❤️

Absolutely awful food. How people are giving good reviews is beyond me. I had grilled sausage - it was anaemic. Clearly just microwaved. My wife had the special - black duck. Veg was minimal and soggy, salad mainly the cabbage part of lettuce. The only reasonable part was the Dauphinoise potato. The bread was stale. House wine was like drinking vinegar. Never left most of a bottle before. Service was quicker than McDonald's! Unfortunately nowhere else was open, it being a Monday so they had a monopoly. Do not eat here! Quite the worst meal we've ever had in France!

We had a crepe and crudités salad. Was worried because of all the bad reviews, but happily surprised! Service was fast and polite, food portions big, and overall a very pleasant experience. Definitely a great place to try. PS only niggle is that it is a cash only place...
Gyve S — Google review
Awful! Tourist trap! Avoid! Menu looks ok and food edible, but they kill you on the things you don't check; like drinks. Getting you on exaggerated drinks prices is so sneaky, as no one checks. A coke for €4.50? Really? Service was appalling and slow. So slow that we asked to settle the bill rather than wait any longer for the desert. The request to remove the desert was firstly declined, then in miraculous fashion, this long-awaited desert suddenly appeared. So, if you are unfortunate enough to eat here, and you also can't tolerate the slow service, I'd recommend repeatedly asking for the bill throughout the meal if you want the meal speed up (and you will definitely not want to loiter to savour the cuisine). €82 for 3 people (no alcohol). Just a joke
