One of the best ice-cream shops I have ever been to, could easily compete with the best Italian ice-cream parlours. Highly recommend salted caramel (perfect creamy texture), chocolate, alphonso mango and pink grapefruit (very refreshing and not too sweet). Great that all ice creams are made in-house.
Small but nice museum with friendly staff, some wonderful pieces of sugar- and chocolate art on display plus some short films playing about preparation. Small degustation afterwards is awesome and on itself already worth the entrance fee
A fine and substantial collection of spun sugar art, mainly statuettes of real and imagined figures, master Thuries probably best of kind. Not much interpretation or results of chocolate making though there are plenty to buy. Sometimes there are confectionery demonstrations and free samples though if busy you can wait a while for your turn. Is it worth the money? Not for me but my wife liked it and the granddaughters loved the figures. Takes about half an hour.

As every “Bastide”, Cordes was located and designed to be easy to defend in these troubled times. This gate was a way to enter the outside walls. It’s lovely to see but the best stands inside and uphill. Do not forget to wear confortable shoes as the slope is stiff.

I popped in by chance on my second day in Cordes Sur Ciel while out exploring and on the hunt for a light late lunch of some kind. Most places seem to close for a few hours in the afternoons so given it was 4.20pm I was hungry and loosing hope after trying a few other places. I ordered a slice of vegetarian quiche and they asked if I’d like a salad with it. The staff were so kind and joyous, seeming happy to be practicing some English, which is a pleasant change from many other establishments which seem to have a bit of distance towards tourists. Anyway they were so kind and funny, happy to help and served up a stunningly delicious quiche! They have a lovely little terrace around the corner that I sat at and watched the scenery. After reading other reviews I decided to pop back and buy some of the biscuits and confirm they are amazing! I’ll be buying more to take home with me.

Here you can find gluten free crêpes made from chestnut flour (suitable for celiacs)! All the crêpes they offer are made from that flour so there’s no chance for cross-contamination.

Apparently, good food in France is harder to come by than one might imagine--so book places in advance... and, seriously, avoid pizza... France is not the place to eat it.

We only had a drink here and as the only customers it was hard to say it had a good atmosphere. The frontage doesn't give much away, but there is a nice terrace with great views at the back and plenty of tables set out for dinner. Worth a try in my opinion.
Really disappointed with this place. It has the most amazing view in town but the staff are incredibly rude. Although there were more than 20 tables empty; when the waitress realised that we only wanted a drink and were not eating; she practically spat at us, stating it’s food only and we shouldn’t have come here for drinks. This came across very aggressively and made us feel uncomfortable for being there. We were going to come back for a pizza another evening but definitely won’t be now.

The menu outside misleadingly said all coffees were 2.5€. I got a cappuccino and they charged me 5€ (only expresso are 2.5€…)!!!! When I explained the confusion, they did nothing about it. On top of it, the cappuccino was really bad: burnt coffee with tiny bit of milk foam on top.

We asked about charcuterie which they were not able to understand (but have on the menu), and the owner or whoever came over and barked at us that they have four things, because we apparently did not decide fast enough for them, pointed at us and assigned us what we would eat, said OK and walked off. We had the experience to stumble upon this wonderful place frozen in time in this magical town. The food was beyond amazing and we don’t understand why it’s so utterly poorly reviewed considering that everything we had was absolutely flawless, my wife and I shared a really wonderful meal, the service was quick and attentive and everything surpassed our expectations in an esplendid manner.

The type of restaurant that one might pass by but, that would be a mistake. There is only the one main plate on offer each day, and no other menu choices. That is not a bad thing as the food served is wonderful, full of a variety of flavors and expertly prepared. I had grilled sausage - it was anaemic. Clearly just microwaved.My wife had the special - black duck. Veg was minimal and soggy, salad mainly the cabbage part of lettuce. The only reasonable part was the Dauphinoise potato.
The bread was stale. House wine was like drinking vinegar. Never left most of a bottle before.
Service was quicker than McDonald's!
Unfortunately nowhere else was open, it being a Monday so they had a monopoly.

Service was appalling and slow. So slow that we asked to settle the bill rather than wait any longer for the desert. The request to remove the desert was firstly declined, then in miraculous fashion, this long-awaited desert suddenly appeared.
So, if you are unfortunate enough to eat here, and you also can't tolerate the slow service, I'd recommend repeatedly asking for the bill throughout the meal if you want the meal speed up (and you will definitely not want to loiter to savour the cuisine).
