Puerto de Mazarrón is a charming coastal town in the Murcia region of Spain, offering sun-soaked beaches, clear waters, and a laid-back Mediterranean atmosphere. The marina provides magnificent views of boats and the sea, with numerous dining options offering sea views. The town has ample parking and is a must-see destination. It's known for squid fishing and offers a clean, active yet peaceful environment without being dull.
Superb!

Nice coastal town, has improved ten fold over the years. Plenty of bars and restaurants. Still reasonably priced compared with other towns on the costas.

(Translated by Google) Very beautiful sandy beach with gently sloping sea. Perfect for playing in the sand or swimming with small children. Larger waves build up in the afternoon between the rocks on the far right, providing plenty of fun for older children and adults in the water. There are foot showers at the beach exit, which is also very useful. No loungers or umbrellas for rent. There is a viewing point between the two bays where you have a beautiful panoramic view of the open sea. We spent a few wonderful days there by the sea. The region is not overrun by mass tourism but seems to be more popular with local tourists. Nevertheless, the town offers a good infrastructure with several shops and restaurants on the outskirts of town.

Playa de Nares is a laid-back beach retreat with a rocky shoreline, making it popular for sunbathing and swimming. It's recommended for diving, bodyboarding, and kayaking. The beach offers a mixture of sand and small pebbles, with clear waters and rocks to explore and snorkel around. Additionally, the area provides ideal conditions for beach lovers and those who enjoy long walks along the seashore.
Great beach for families with children. The beach is sandy and the water is generally shallow. There are shops nearby and you can get a drink and snack at the hotel next to the beach. Parking can be a bit tricky so probably avoid this beach on a weekend or bank holiday.

Visited January 2023. The beach is a mixture of sand and small pebbles. However, some of the sand seems to be industrial sand. That aside, the sea is nice and clear, and there are some rocks to explore and snorkel round. There is water to rinse your feet and plenty of bins. Also there are toilets but they were closed when we visited. It is a great place to relax in the winter sun.

Playa de Bahía, located in the province of Murcia in Spain, is a popular beach known for its fine golden sand and calm waters. It has been awarded the Blue Flag certification for its clear waters and excellent amenities including lifeguard services and facilities for individuals with special needs. The beach is family-friendly with a designated area for children to play safely. Additionally, there are efforts to discourage smoking on the premises.
Best beach ever. - Perfect sand. - Water excellent. - Lot of free space. - Super bathing waves. Overall super conditions.

Fantastic beach. Beach bar only there from Easter onward. Nice gentle slopping beach. Good sandy beach not stoney like others near by.

We went in February and it wasn't busy at all. The temperature was a good 19 degrees, so not too cold and not too warm. There weren't many shops open as it was out of season, but it was still nice to chill and make sandcastles on the beach with my son. If you want a relaxing day with not many people, then this is a perfect time to go in Feb. We spent a week around the area and there was a lot to see on foot. Easy to get from the airport and didn't take too much time to get there. It would be interesting to see what it would be like in the peak periods of the year, but I can imagine that the beaches would be packed and the temperature would be really hot. Of course you may like that. We did think about getting a couple of bikes as there is a bike shop nearby (walking distance) but we didn't have time to do this as we had planned other things. There were no public toilets about so be warned, but the cafe/restaurant nearby did allow us to use it for our little one. We did end up eating there in the end.

Restaurant
Concierto Sentido in Puerto de Mazarrón is highly praised for its excellent variety of dishes, with every plate being outstanding. The owner and staff are known for their warm hospitality, making guests feel truly welcome. The restaurant offers a unique experience where patrons can personally select fresh fish from the counter to be expertly prepared. Visitors rave about the exceptional service and delectable meals, such as the grilled octopus with cream of baby potatoes and the exquisite John Dory fish.
Javi is an absolute legend! One of the best meals I’ve had in a very long time. My family and I came here for lunch and were treated to the most incredible service, meal and aperitifs. I had the fresh octopus which is grilled on the barbecue and served with cream of baby potatoes. My mother had John Dory fish - which was absolutely fantastic in both taste and presentation. My father had the T-Bone steak and that was phenomenal too. We finished with two beautiful liqueurs - a boozy, beautiful lunch! Can’t wait to come back and try the rest of the menu. Thank you to Javi and the team - the most generous and amazing staff I’ve ever encountered working at a restaurant.

Absolutely fantastic for real food lovers! For those who know Mazarron, the food is often good, but repeatable. Javi’s food is certainly a step above the rest in presentation and taste. We found the prices to be good value for such a high quality meal and experience. All staff were very friendly and professional. The octopus was absolutely sensational. See you again soon , Señor Corbata Jr

Although a cold January evening, the outside heaters and protective awning worked well, and we sat outside. From the moment we arrived the very helpful friendly staff were brilliant, menu choices were very good, clearly from the open display cabinets and tanks the food was fresh, showing the catch of the day! Service and cuisine were amazing. I loved having a hot plate to get my steak to how i like it. The prices are what is expected from such quality and experienced restaurant, the service was very good indeed. If you have a special occasion to celebrate, this is the place to come! Easy free parking, easy access, sea views. What is stopping you? 🤩

Stopped for lunch by chance. What a lovely restaurant, service and food . I had the marinated sardines followed by monkfish , vegetables and potatoes, chocolate cake and coffee. It all tasted delicious. Hubby had the grilled sardines and the marinated chicken with potatoes and veg, mango ice-cream and coffee. Wine, cola and water. I couldn’t fault it. The owner offered us two , I think they were liqueurs, one for digestion and a lemon one, I liked the digestion one…. Very full, very lovely. They have inside and outside seating with comfortable chairs and linen tablecloths and napkins. Would go again for a special treat. They also played really nice music. What’s not to like.

Had a selection of delicious starters between 4 had about 6 plates and some chips. Food was wonderful and service excellent the owner is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Finished with chocolate volcano pudding which should be banned for how delicious it was. The restaurant is in a lovely position with parking just across the road. Had a great time.

We had lunch 2 times in this restaurant. It has a big choice in fresh fish , like monkfish, turbot, lobster, oysters, clams. Also nice vegetables and good wines. Very friendly chef that helped us with translation from the Spanish menu to English ( still not our native language but helpful ! ) All food was delicious. The first time scallops, razor fish, turbot and black tagliatelle full with seefood. This time oysters, scallops, artichoke with foie, thereafter monkfish. Great !

La Perra Chica Tapas Restaurant is a relaxed and popular spot that offers classic bites and drinks in a beachside location with stunning sea views. Known for its tasty and traditional tapas, this restaurant has received high praise from visitors. Every dish we had (tapas) was delicious. Don't miss out squid ink croquettes and special desert of the region. The waiter was very friendly and helpful and his recommendations were prefect. Our first dish came very quickly and we never waited long between the others. We got one of last walk-in tables so would recommend reserving to avoid disappointment! They are only able to accept cash tips so take some cash with you.

Palenque Brasas offers delectable and reasonably priced meals, ranging from classic dishes like spaghetti bolognese and pizza to more gourmet options such as grilled salmon and steak. They also serve mixed grilled meat dishes for two at a reasonable price. This restaurant provides relief from the high temperatures of August with fans and a roof hose system that periodically sprays refreshing mist over diners. The ambiance is friendly and welcoming, making it an enjoyable place to dine.
We had a very good experience. We didn’t have high expectations, but we were pleasantly surprised. We ordered the Parrillada Argentina for two – it was really good and actually too much food for just two people! We also had fries and grilled vegetables. The wine was delicious. The Asiatic coffee and tarta de la casa were top-notch. A lovely surprise at the end – complimentary chupitos. The ladies - camareras did their best to serve us in English, while we did our best to order in Spanish. Estamos muy contentos and we’ll definitely come back!

Terrible, terrible food. Aberdeen Angus Empanada starter was not freshly made at all, it tasted days old. Reheated, dry filling, it tasted 'off'. Really poor 'chimichurri' sauce... Just oil with a few herbs. I'm English and I make better chimmichurri and steak at home! Steaks were tough, my partner couldn't eat much of his steak as was cooked way too rare, in fact it was raw. Then came back RAW a second time. Frozen chips served with the steak are criminal and no good chef would allow this. Extra portions of 'Fries' were soggy potato fritters. '3 sauces' was 2 portions of garlic mayo and a portion of bbq sauce. 'Cheesecake' dessert was a hybrid between a cheese soufflé, a Yorkshire pudding and a cheese scone. Not at all as described. Just a terrible experience... would never return. Managers/ owners... You should be ashamed

We chose to go for our Christmas 🎄 dinner at the Palenque. We weren't disappointed. A glass 🥂 on arrival plus five delicious courses. We tried almost every option and we shared. Went with a group of 12 guests for a Steak's evening. The Steaks were great, and good value for money. The following evening my wife and I went for a Pizza, unfortunately it was a huge disappointment. Lessons learned. Great place for Steaks, but if you aim for a delicious Pizza, find another place.

We were eating early and prebooked a table. We arrived and were the only customers at first. We were shown to our table which was unstable so we informed the waitress who put a wedge under one leg. We placed our orders for steaks and starters. The starters arrived but we had to ask for cutlery. The starters were quite tasty but obviously pre-prepared and reheated. The Rib eye steak was very nice, as expected of a Steak house style restaurant, however the other, Argentinian specialty steak was inedible. The waitress tried her best. I am not one who likes to make a fuss but did quietly raise the issue. My wife was offered any other replacement meal, but this meant eating separately so we just shared mine. We were still charged for all but my wife's chocolate cake dessert. We will not be going back.

Seafood restaurant
Restaurante la Barraca is a popular seafood restaurant known for its fabulous fresh food and quick, friendly service. The place offers a convivial experience with equally superb quality tapas at the bar. It's advisable to make a reservation due to its popularity, but dining at the bar is also an enjoyable option. The seafood paella is particularly spectacular, and there's a good selection of reasonably priced wines. While it can be busy and somewhat loud, the overall food quality is excellent.
Simple but fabulous fresh food, perfectly cooked, served quickly and always with a smile. This is the best Fish and Seafood restaurant I know..... but it's evident that hundreds of others feel the same, so a reservation is a must, unless you just want to eat Tapas at the Bar - which, by the way, are of equally superb quality and it's a very convivial experience. Thank you to the proprietor and staff for making our visits so enjoyable.

Asian restaurant
RESTAURANTE GRAN MUNDO WOK BUFFET LIBRE offers a wide variety of Chinese cuisine at a reasonable price. The buffet includes a great selection of fresh seafood and the option to have your meal cooked fresh by the chef. While some visitors have experienced issues with overcrowding and food temperature, many find it to be good value for money. The restaurant's popularity is evident from its consistent busyness, making it a must-visit spot for those craving Chinese food in Spain.
We had an unforgettable dinner for five people! The seafood cioppino was a highlight – we loaded up our plate with fresh meat, seafood (clams, shrimps, and peeled shrimp), and added ginger from the sushi section. Don’t forget to ask for grilling master to add garlic, soy sauce, and spicy sauce, and finished it off with garlic herbs. The combination was absolute perfection! The variety of dishes was impressive, with a vast selection of Chinese, Thai, and Japanese options. We also had 2 bottles of wine, 2 bottles of water and coffee, as well as the gift bottle of wine when we left. Total paid around 115 euros. The service was excellent, and the attention to detail was impressive. We highly recommend this restaurant for a delicious and memorable dining experience if many members of your family craving different types of asian cuisine.

We had heard so many good things about this place we just had to try it. We were seated right away and they went and got a high chair for our 17 month old daughter without us having to ask however the rest was so disappointing. We were seated to the right of the restaurant then we noticed every other guest that entered after us where taken to the left of the restaurant and looked after very well (away from the baby I imagine) it was so uncomfortable to sit in an empty space trying to gain the attention of a member of staff. Not one waitress attended to us from the moment we went in to when we left. We were still sitting with our starter and mains plates when we were eating our dessert. The drinks we ordered when we entered were taken up so much space we had to put them on our daughters high chair and take her out, one got spilled. The food was so dry and had no labelling at the buffet counters to help you decide what to eat. We won't be returning, the only positive I have for this place is the bill. It is so reasonable and they don't charge for the baby eating.
Jilian M — Google review
This place was just awesome. You can pick which foods you'd like to eat by choosing from a range of meat, fish and vegetables and then take it to the Chef who would stir fry it for you so it's nice and hot. Also you get a choice of sauces in which your food is cooked. Presentation of foods was delightful to see with everything looking so lovely and fresh and such a wide choice to choose from, which meant something for everyone. I couldn't see plain boiled rice so asked a waitress if there was any to which she went off and returned with a portion of hot boiled rice. The staff were very polite and made sure all of our needs were met. This is the best buffet I have ever been to and will go again.
