Beach
Corona Del Mar State Beach Park is a picturesque natural area and a popular spot for swimming and surfing. The sandy beach is surrounded by cliffs, offering a stunning backdrop for visitors. At the southern end of the beach, there are tide-pools and sea-stack formations that are particularly fascinating for children and nature enthusiasts. These tide-pools are home to various sea creatures like seahorses, sea-stars, urchins, and barnacles.
This is one of my favorite beaches in Orange County. It’s clean, safe, and has a relaxed vibe that makes it perfect whether you’re there to swim, sunbathe, or just take a walk and clear your head. The beach is wide with soft sand, and the water is usually calm because of the jetty ,great for kids or people who don’t like big waves. There are clean bathrooms and showers right on site, which is super convenient. The parking lot is right next to the beach, but it fills up fast on weekends, so go early if you don’t want to deal with that. You can also park in the neighborhoods nearby, but be prepared to walk down a hill. At low tide, there are tide pools to explore on the rocks, and you can sometimes spot little crabs or sea anemones. The sunsets here are amazing — definitely worth sticking around for. I’ve also seen rabbits around the edges of the beach, which was kind of random but cute. Overall, it’s a peaceful, scenic beach that feels a little tucked away even though it’s in the middle of Newport. Great spot for a quiet beach day without the party vibe of some other OC beaches.

One of the best and beautiful parts of Southern California. Corona del Mar is a beautiful and distinguished area. Wonderful estates and pristine beaches. A great family spot.

The only OC beach I know that has street parking without paying. Beautiful beach that the water is clean with some seaweed. Overall the sunset is nice and a place to go for a swim. Pay parking is available but I prefer street parking if available on the weekdays.
Broski R — Google review
Such a beautiful beach! Close parking was a great plus. The variety It has to offer. Is that it's right by the Newport Harbor, giant rocks to climb on, bathroom accessibility and such a clean Beach! It's also a very cool hangout for youth because it's somewhat secluded in its area.
Hollyann B — Google review
One of my favorite beaches that I’ve visited! Had a huge amount of parking, lots of beach’s space and the waves were awesome, definitely bigger than expected but still had a lot of people bogey boarding and swimming and restrooms on hand! Highly recommend this for a good beach visit if your in the area
Anthony G — Google review
beach is very beautiful. has space available for beach volleyball. has a good amount of bathrooms stalls but they dont have anything to dry your hands with, like air dryer or paper towels
Chelsea — Google review
Came on a weekend afternoon and was surprised to find plenty of parking — big plus! Maybe it’s just the off-season. The sunset was beautiful, but the beach feels more like a spot for family or friends to hang out than a quiet place to enjoy the ocean view.
Ziyan Z — Google review
This is our favorite place ever, we love to walk on the pier watch all the boats go by and walk in the sand from beginning to end and weighed in the water. It is gorgeous.

Botanical garden
Nature & Parks
Sherman Library & Gardens, located in Corona del Mar, spans 2.2 acres and offers a serene botanical escape with various themed gardens, conservatories, and walkways. The property also houses a research library focusing on the Pacific Southwest's historical materials. Visitors can enjoy rotating art exhibitions that blend seamlessly with the natural beauty of the gardens, creating an immersive sensory experience. One current exhibit showcases the history of the Brandt-Dike Summer School of Painting in California during the 1940s.
A must for any visit to Newport Beach, the Sherman Library & Gardens always delights. As seasons mature and change, so do the magnificent displays of floral and succulent plants, curated and designed to elevate California's outstanding environment for beautiful and unusual species. With one of the most wowing collections of cacti and succulents I've seen anywhere, a tour of only this area of the Sherman would be worth the price of admission; but there is so much more to see in these gardens, including a tropical conservatory with stunning orchids and gingers, and an alcove filled with many different varieties of fucshia and begonia. It is an absolute must for every trip we make to the Newport Beach area, and certainly more than worth the drive from anywhere in the OC. Because the visit is worth so much more than the admission cost, be sure to leave a generous donation on the way out for helping this Corona del Mar icon continue to delight visitors and locals since 1955.

This is a small garden area that has a library, small store and even a restaurant looking out at the garden. There’s blooming flowers full of color, green houses, koi fish pond, and welcoming staff. It was fun walking around and checking out all the trees, flowers and fish and turtles. They even have a small scavenger hunt that kids can participate in which was really fun as we walked around. The store was cute but the library was closed. There was a small patio that you can just sit and enjoy the area and the bathroom are next to the store. The restaurant seemed busy during the week around 1:00 pm. Think it would be nice to return to visit the restaurant to sit out in the patio area enjoying our meal.

Love this beautiful botanical garden and library! Each time the magical environment transfers me to heaven and back. Exotic plants and flowers, beautiful gift shop that you can always find a unique souvenir and Dahlia 608 restaurant at the garden is a must to experience. Go there! You won’t be disappointed.

This place is absolutely stunning and breathtaking. The atmosphere is so lively and fun! The gift shop has a great selection of items. Make sure to take some time to visit this incredible garden! 🪏🪴

Lovely gardens! The best gift shop too! I’ll stop here for gifts in the future. Well curated. Nice variety. I don’t love succulents but their succulent garden is just gorgeous. Quirky, vintage, unique library featuring local city books and archives.

Sherman Gardens is a charming and relaxing spot with vibrant flowers and well-maintained greenery. It’s a wonderful place for a quiet visit or to enjoy some creative time painting. A few areas are being renovated, but overall, it’s a delightful experience.
L R — Google review
A great afternoon escape in Newport Beach. Perfect size to appreciate natural beauty of the gardens without having to do miles of walking.
Shin K — Google review
I've loved visiting here many times in the past and would normally give the Gardens between 4 and a half and 5 stars. But on our most recent visit a few days ago. the Gardens looked to have somewhere between 25 and 30 percent of their space closed or removed. The gift shop (where I've bought Christmas presents) became a gift "table", several restrooms were closed (and apparently the restaurant space is closed too?) and a few benches where we loved to sit are now gone. I know there's a SUBSTANTIAL renovation project either in progress or about to happen. I just wish the greeters would have been a bit more transparent or honest about what we were going to see. I for one would rather return when the whole space has been restored to glory.

Shopping mall
Shopping
Fashion Island is an open-air shopping center featuring water elements, a variety of popular stores, dining options, and a cinema. It's more than just a shopping destination; it's also known for its culinary offerings. The area boasts Brasserie Pascal, Rustica, and True Food Kitchen among its notable dining establishments. Additionally, the nearby South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa offers equally impressive dining and retail experiences.
I went to simply walk around and enjoy an outdoor lunch. I left with 5 wonderful bags, and I had a fabulous lunch on a patio next to a rain wall. Who doesn't love shopping when you can see the ocean, feel the breeze, and feel the sun shining on you.
PATRICIA W — Google review
Architecturally stunning and impeccably clean. Fashion Island has every department store you need and a large selection of very good restaurants. Even though it was busy on black friday, it didn't seem overly crowded.
Brandon D — Google review
Condensed high-end fashion. A lot of high-end stores like Apple Store, Macy’s, Nordstrom‘s Lululemon, etc., and many small boutique stores I’ve never heard of. Restaurants and fast food for different price levels. Like five guys Chick-fil-A, panda express, etc.. Was there on a Saturday afternoon. Found parking but It took a little time. A nice food court area and some nice restaurants spread around shopping area. Check the Google site to see the list of great restaurants.
Greg P — Google review
Nice views, some cool architecture, and the koi pond is very pretty and peaceful. Good place for people watching and strolling. I mostly get in some good walking/move goals - more so than actually buying anything.
Tiffany E — Google review
Fashion Island is a lovely outdoor shopping destination! The stunning fountain displays are a real highlight, creating a beautiful and relaxing centerpiece. Adding to the charm are the adorable koi fish swimming in the surrounding ponds – they're delightful to watch. Plus, with its wide selection of great brand shops, it offers a truly enjoyable and stylish shopping experience
Momo Z — Google review
Not only a normal mall 🥹 first time seeing the architecture like this. Visited outdoor mall before Irvine spectrum but I think this place is 💯💯💯 love walking and sitting around here. Other people in the store also nice and helpful too. It's close to the beach if anyone want to combine short trip here
Nancy T — Google review
Such a nice mall! Great to hang out with friends and family. They have a cute little Koi pond to hang out around. I saw a lot of kids enjoying their time watching the fishes swim.
Brenda D — Google review
Fashion Island Mall has many of the big names in fashion along with two large department stores. Aside from a very pretty koi pond, the place doesn't have any character. The worst part is that the ladies' facilities have only 2 stalls. There was a line of 15 women waiting. For a mall that presents itself as upscale, it really didn't make me feel like coming back or to recommend it to visitors.

Scenic spot
Sights & Landmarks
Inspiration Point is a charming observation spot along California's Pacific Coast Highway, offering stunning panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean. It's a popular place to catch the sunrise or sunset, with benches and a grassy area for picnics. The lookout provides an ideal setting for a romantic date or simply enjoying the scenic beauty with someone special.
Really good experience at Inspiration Point, California. The view is stunning, and it was a peaceful spot to relax and take in the scenery. We walked down to the beach, which was a nice, easy path. Parking was convenient and hassle-free, and best of all — it wasn’t crowded at all. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a calm, scenic escape!
Vipin K — Google review
If you have the time, take the trip. The views are stunning. The dogs can walk down the trails and hunt for lizards. Once you get to the beach, you'll need to hike back up the hill. The trail is something that a wheelchair could handle.

I love inspiration point! There is always street parking available and it’s a gorgeous view. I recommend going to the Corona Del Mar farmers market on Saturday, pick yourself up a little treat and enjoy the view. The farmers market is about 2 blocks from inspiration point!

Had some time to kill and wanted to drive around since the weather was so nice! Stopped here and then continued up to “the viewpoint” on the Newport Coast road. This is an easy 1hr round trip to kill some time and see the most beautiful views of the ocean I have seen yet. Absolutely stunning and the homes are nuts!!! After the viewpoint I went to “Top of the World” in Laguna beach and drove back to the airport via the canyons. Even during rush hour this was an easy trip to make and was a highlight of my trip!
Ben D — Google review
One of the best places to enjoy the southern California sunset and the boats into or out of Newport. Plenty of street parkings with walk ways going down to the beach.
Kuansan W — Google review
It's absolutely beautiful! There were a lot of people. At the entrance there was more seaweed than I preferred to touched so I shyed away from getting in the water. However, when I took the walk to the otherside that stopped me with a wall... there was much less stuff in the water. I stepped on a carpenter bee and a nice gentleman caught out help from a life guard. He also helped me get the stinger out of my toe after I used my fingers to pull the bee off of my foot. The lifeguard was as helpful as he could be. I appreciate the kindness from them both.

Every time I find myself in the enchanting Newport Beach area, I make it a point to visit and take in the breathtaking views of the Pacific Coast. Although today was blanketed in a soft, mysterious fog, the charm of the shoreline remained captivating. The muted colors of the ocean and the gentle sound of the waves created a serene atmosphere that made my visit truly enjoyable.

Love this viewpoint. The neighborhood is beautiful, the houses too! I love coming here and just walk around, enjoy the views and the peaceful atmosphere.

The Bungalow Restaurant is a beloved dining spot in Corona del Mar, offering a cozy lodge-like ambiance and serving as a staple for the community since 1996. The Craftsman-style restaurant features warm woods, comfortable booths, and outdoor patio seating, creating a welcoming atmosphere for both locals and visitors. Chef Alfonso has been crafting delectable dishes at The Bungalow for 15 years, specializing in prime steaks and fresh seafood.
Bungalow restaurants located in Newport Beach right on the PCH. Great spot to people watch. FOOD was AMAZING, Very clean!! Extremely nice to be in a restaurant where there’s pride in ownership. Also was waited on by lovely lady who is here for over six years.
Jennifer L — Google review
The food and service are consistently excellent here. Parking: there is some street parking behind the restaurant, and public parking next to the park one street down from PCH. Otherwise valet right behind the restaurant. Food: what you would expect from a high end steak and seafood place. Everything is well prepared technically, with some interesting twists. For example the calamari is prepared sweet and sour style (think chicken). Service: excellent! At a time when service seems to be in decline in many places, this place maintains its high standard. Our server (Bobby it I recall) had great timing, great suggestions, and was friendly, making the pacing of the meal pleasant. When we came in recently, they had a lobster fest event (not sure if it was regular or recurring). You got a 5oz lobster tail with select entrees for free, which was a nice bonus.

Love this place. We eat here every time in SoCal. Had the filet tonight, others had the halibut - all most excellent. Highly recommend for a cool, old school restaurant. Server Derek was great!

9/14/2024 What a fantastic dining experience this evening at The Bungalow in Corona Del Mar. The hostesses were very friendly and professional as was the Valet attendant. We were seated at a lovely booth in the dining room. Derrick was our server extraordinare. What an amazing person, professional and kind. We started with drinks and my wife had her favorite, Don Julio Blanco with Topo Chico and three limes muddled with mint and I had bottled water and a soft drink. We both started with salads and my wife had the Cesar salad and I had the wedge. Both salads were presented well and very tasty. Oscar, another fine individual came by and brought us fresh bread and also attended to our table. We so enjoyed the evening with great conversation and fantastic food. Derrick took our entree order as well and my wife had the seabass entree, butterfield and I had the filet mignon entree with melted blue cheese and a side of sautéed spinach. The meals came out beautifully prepared and presented and the taste of both meals were excellent. I finished with an Americano and some additional conversation and then Kevin, one of the managers, stopped by to thank us for coming in while asking how everything was. We thanked Kevin and praised the staff, food and overall experience. Highly recommended 👌 7/21/2024 What an amazing dining experience at the Bungalow in Corona Del Mar this evening. We had reservations and were seated promptly upon arrival at a wonderful booth near the front window in the dining room. The restaurant has several dining areas with your choice of the front or rear patios, the bar area and the dining room. All of the staff members were welcoming and friendly as well as professional. Sarah our amazing server was nothing short of spectacular and her assistant Sammy was stellar as well. We started with drinks and my wife had the Don Julio Blanco with pelligrino and three limes muddled with mint and I had The Prisoner red blend. For appetizers my wife had the grilled artichoke and I had a wonderful romaine salad. Everything was stellar and the service is top shelf. Great people, the ambiance is so pleasant and peaceful as well as romantic. Sarah too our entree orders and my wife had the Sea Bass dish and I had the Filet mignon with mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach. Everything was 5 star plus. To cap off the evening I had an Americano which was perfect. The Bungalow is clearly at the top of our list when it comes to local dining. Thanks for a wonderful evening. Previous visit What an amazing dining experience tonight at the Bungalow in Newport Beach. We had reservations for 5pm and arrived a bit early, and the hostess was so kind and took us to a cozy booth near the window. Bob was our amazing server and introduced himself while taking our drink and appetizer order. We started with the grilled artichoke and the short rib ravioli appetizers. My wife ordered a Don Julio Blanco with pelligrino and three limes muddled with mint, and I had a few glasses of "The Prisoner" blend by Prisoner Wine Co. The drinks and appetizers were amazing. Ashley, Linda, Oscar, Rogelio, and Sammy made the evening special with their amazing customer service. It's an amazing team! For our entrees, my wife ordered the fresh seabass, and I had the filet mignon with blue cheese crumbles, prawns, and mashed potatoes. Both entrees were heavenly, and the presentation, taste, and temperature superb. The conversation and ambiance were simply Devine. This restaurant establishment is top shelf, and we will certainly be back as this was our first visit. We capped off the evening with an Americano coffee and the Tollhouse Pie dessert with added berries. The overall experience was nothing short of fantastic, and I commend all of the staff for making it such a memorable visit. Highly recommended.

So far... this has been the best French Onion Soup I have had in the area including San Diego. If I see it on the menu I usually have to give it a shot, and this one was great! I sat out in the covered area in the back, it wasn't too busy and the service was spot on, friendly and checked in with water and the food. My Salmon was cooked perfectly. At first I thought there wasn't enough potatoes, however it was just the right amount of portion for potatoes that when I was done with my meal I was satisfied and full, but not uncomfortably full.

We've passed this place many times & finally made reservations for dinner. My husband had the Spring Special which was a salad, 8 oz. Filet, and dessert (he picked creme brulee). Everything was delicious. I tried his steak and it was melt in your mouth tasty! I had the warm goat cheese salad which was also delicious. And the service was very friendly & attentive. We thought parking would ne an issue but they have a valet in a rear lot. What a great ending to our week in Newport!!
Pat T — Google review
My wife and I went here for our Valentine's Day dinner and had an overall great experience. The Mhai Thai's were delicious, the appetizers were awesome. They give you a ton of calamari and it's very tasty. Both of our entrees were good. I got the ribeye and my wife got the venison. I do wish it had come with more sides, I didn't order any because it has them on the menu but the portions were very small. A nitpick at most. All in all, we had a great time and would come back to celebrate something here.

Amazing first-time experience, the ravioli was cooked well, the burrata needed some salt, the bread was great, scallops were perfect. Every night has a chef's special dessert. Tonight was strawberry shortcake with ice cream. Edit: Got the 2 person Chateaubriand. Worth it!

Five Crowns is an upscale restaurant that offers classic cuisine in a cozy setting inspired by England's oldest country inns. The establishment is known for its award-winning dishes, such as roast prime rib of beef, served in charming surroundings. Additionally, the restaurant has expanded its services to include outdoor dining on the patio, creating an ambiance reminiscent of an English country garden. Guests can enjoy a special "patio menu" featuring a variety of delectable options.
Angie, the supervisor, is simply the best! She is so welcoming, thoughtful and helpful. Also thanks to our server Evan to clarify a few questions and being so attentive. We came to enjoy a dinner and taste some appetizers/desserts for an upcoming wedding reception. The 10oz Prime Rib is such a bit portion, and so many great options for appetizers, lobster bisque, crab cake, onion soup, shrimp cocktail, etc. hard to just pick one. In terms of dessert, I personally love the dark chocolate soufflé the most, but this won’t be served for private party with 20+. Don’t forget to join the Lawry’s VIP, which can redeem the spending points to cash rewards.

This steakhouse in beautiful Corona del Mar truly stands out. I loved the classic British vibe, elegant yet cozy. The staff was incredibly polite and helpful. The menu was interesting with plenty of tempting options. We started with the onion soup, which was rich and flavorful ; a perfect beginning. The steak was juicy and cooked to perfection, and the chocolate souffle at the end was absolutely amazing. They also offer a rewards program, which is a nice bonus. I’ll definitely be coming back.

First timer here! It was a very pleasant experience overall. I had a 6:30p reservation on a Friday night- I got there about 20 minutes early and they sat my table early :) The service was great. Everyone was super friendly. The food was good as well. The French onion soup was delicious! The table side bread was baked to perfection 👌 The prime rib was insanely tender - my only qualm is that it felt the meat could have used more seasoning / flavor. But after adding the seasoning salt, it helped. The parking is Valet ONLY and it is directly next door to the restaurant. Overall, I enjoyed my experience. I would recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a nice place to have a special dinner :)

Five Crowns is a Scottish restaurant located in an area where you wouldn't think it'd quite match the neighborhood. Fitting more into the themed design of their sister restaurant, Tam O' Shanter, than Lawry's the atmosphere takes you to another country and another world. The design is less colorful than the Tam but still holds the influence of Scotland on their walls. You can see tartans, coat of arms, and a pub like feel everywhere. Old world design is integrated from the walls to the booths. The service is very welcoming, with each server having a warm and gentle aura. There was a genuine kindness to the words our server spoke and we were happy to have her on a dinner we were celebrating a birthday. She was the example of excellent service that elevated the dinner service and we happily left a generous tip to show our gratitude. But how is the food? After all, any restaurant affiliated with Lawry's should be known for quality when it comes to steaks and prime rib and Five Crowns is no exception. Having pretty much the same menu as those restaurants you can't go wrong with the prime rib. In fact, unless you are getting steak this should be your de facto order. Cut and cooked the way you want it, all prime ribs are served with a Yorkshire pudding and your choice of either creamed corn, creamed spinach, or mashed potatoes. I recommend asking for extra au jus and gravy to help smothering all bites. The prime rib is done like it's been mastered for decades. Pretty hard to find flaws and if you want to be decadent, you can always add extra items like the lobster tail. When it comes to appetizers we tried a few. The beef carpaccio was exquisite. A clean, rich flavor it was presented beautifully and has flavors that showcase how well this restaurant understands beef. The fried calamari was crispy and not too heavily fried, served with a creamy sauce on the side that goes well with anything. The crab cake is chonky and filled with crab meat. Very little filler to create this tasty morsel of the sea, it is fresh and easy to come back to over and over. For the dessert, we ordered the dark chocolate soufflé. I love a place that serves soufflés as they are difficult to make so not many places make them. Deep in flavors, the cream served on the side made the tastes smooth but decadent. One order is enough to share between three people unless you don't want to share. Than perhaps two instead. Coming down to Five Crowns felt very much like eating at the Tam O' Shanter but with a seaside flair. It felt familiar and comfortable and the food was the same. For special occasions Five Crowns checks all the boxes and makes you feel posh. I recommend for those looking for something unique in south OC to try.

Tucked into Corona del Mar like a secret passage to old England, Five Crowns doesn’t just serve dinner—it stages a royal feast. The moment you step inside, you’re greeted by Tudor-style charm and a fireplace glow that whispers, “You’re about to eat like a monarch.” But let’s talk about the real crown jewel: the prime rib. Whether you go for the California Cut (modest and refined), the Crown Cut (a noble middle ground), or the King Henry VIII Cut (a 23-ounce slab of unapologetic indulgence), each bite is a masterclass in dry-aged decadence. The crust is seasoned like it’s been knighted, the interior blushes with perfect pink, and the jus is so rich it should probably be taxed. Pair it with Yorkshire pudding—golden, airy, and ready to soak up every drop of flavor—and you’ve got a plate that could silence even the most jaded steak snob. Add a side of creamed spinach or lobster bisque if you're feeling extra regal. Service? Impeccable. The staff treats you like you’ve just returned from battle and deserve a feast. And the ambiance? Think Downton Abbey meets California cool.

It has been a while since I was last here , this visit was with friends, and I just hope they enjoyed themselves. I was expecting a little bit more out of this visit, I thought the food lacked a little flavor. Other than that the decor was the same, service was good and my company was the best.

The Goddess and I have driven past Five Crowns countless times, so we finally decided to try it. We started with cocktails and both enjoyed our choice. Their cocktail menu has some unique selections, but I unfortunately do not remember the names of our drinks. For dinner, the Goddess had a chicken pot pie and I had prime rib, which is what they are known for. The prime rib was tasty and done to order. The accompanying Horseradish sauce was excellent. Many places make it either too strong or too weak, but the Five Crowns does it right. We both thought the pastry on the pot pie was excellent. I really likes the filling, but the Goddess felt it was a bit bland. Our server Carley was on point..she was always there when needed but not at the table too much. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. Will we go again? Without question. The restaurant has two sides. Five Crowns is a proper restaurant, and if you want more of a British pub feel, go to the Side Door portion of the place. The pub was very lively on our way out and we will probably go there next time, if we want a more casual setting.

We came to Five Crowns to celebrate a very special 62nd birthday, and our server Christina made it one of the best birthdays he's ever had. From the start, she was super friendly, thoughtful, and just an all-around amazing server. One of us has a serious seafood allergy (carries an epipen around), and Christina went above and beyond to walk us through the menu and explain everything clearly. She made sure we felt totally safe and comfortable, which made a huge difference in the night. She also recommended the Neptune upgrade for my filet, and WOW I’ll be getting that every time from now on. It was unreal. I don't always write reviews but I felt compelled to after this experience because the service was really just that good. Can’t wait to come back!

Southwestern restaurant (US)
Bandera, located in Corona Del Mar, is a beloved institution known for its hearty Southwestern-American cuisine. The restaurant offers a vibrant upscale bar scene and a romantic outdoor patio with a fireplace. One of their signature dishes is the Bandera-style roasted chicken, which is cooked all day in a custom stone oven and served with an apricot glaze and cucumber salad. Another must-try is the Char-Grilled Ribeye, perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection.
Had an incredible dinner at Bandera in Corona Del Mar! From start to finish, everything was spot-on. I ordered the Hawaiian Rib Eye and took our server Tony’s recommendation to pair it with the Potatoes Colcannon. The steak was cooked to perfection, and the potatoes were creamy, and rich with flavor. My husband had the chicken and rib combo and couldn’t stop raving about it. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender, and both the chicken and ribs were packed with flavor. To top it all off, Tony also suggested the Pot de Crème for dessert, and it was the perfect ending smooth, rich, and not overly sweet. Beyond the delicious food, what really elevated the experience was the outstanding service. Tony was attentive, friendly, and clearly knew the menu well. Next time we come back, we’ll definitely be asking to sit in his section again!

I used to drive by Bandera in Corona Del Mar every day on my way to work, always curious about the buzz and lively atmosphere. One day, I finally decided to stop in, and I’m so glad I did. Since that first visit, it’s become a regular spot for me. The food here is consistently excellent. I highly recommend starting with their appetizers, especially the Oreo dessert and banana pie, both of which are indulgent and delicious. One standout dish for me is their grilled artichoke, seasoned to perfection and incredibly flavorful. And don’t skip the cornbread, it’s rich, slightly sweet, and a must-try. My only constructive feedback is about the parking situation. After 6pm, especially during peak dinner hours, it can be a bit of a challenge to find a spot nearby. It’s worth planning ahead or considering a rideshare if you’re coming in the evening. Overall, Bandera offers a great dining experience, and I’ll definitely keep coming back.

Have gone to Bandera since the early 2000's, starting when the restaurant had a location in Scottsdale. Made reservations on a Wednesday. A 20 plus minute wait after the reservation before we were seated. Then the restaurant was out of signature rotisserie chicken and pork chop before 8 pm. Wait staff was excellent. My 4th choice of main course, as they were out of 3 other menu items, was way below my expectation. The beef ribs were more like burnt ends. Artichoke was delicious as usual. Still very disappointing with so many choices in the area. All atmosphere and make-up service for lack of quality.

I loved my experience here! My server, Grace, and my bartender, Briana, were amazing! They were super attentive and went above and beyond to make sure I enjoyed my time in the restaurant. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed. We even got complimentary starters from Cal because we waited a bit longer than our scheduled reservation. Which by the way it didn’t feel like it because we stood at the bar and the atmosphere was so great. Thank you so much Bandera for such a wonderful experience!

I’d give this place an average of four stars. Many many years ago, I embarked on the macho salad. It was so good.!! so good that I thought about it for years and look forward to the day I went back. The other day, I finally went back and of course, ordered the macho salad. It was definitely not the same as I remember- portion was much smaller flavor was also lacking so that was disappointing. We also ordered the combo plate with the ribs and ribs were the best fries were great . Best part of the meal was the kale salad.

Dark Wood lends itself to the jazzy feel of the restaurant. Everything was excellent (macho salad, sweet potato and cheese enchilada with a fried egg on top, cornbread bites, and artichoke to start.). Martinis were $18 but they were good and food prices were in the mid $20s range. The artichokes are as good as ever which has always been very good at Bandera. The cornbread bites for $4 were reasonable and tasty. I would definitely be back.

Our Home Away from Home – Thank You, Ben and the Banderas Newport Beach Team We travel constantly and are longtime fans of Hillstone restaurants—we make a point to seek them out wherever we go. But nothing compares to the experience we have at Banderas in Newport Beach, and that is entirely because of Ben and his extraordinary team. From day one, Ben has made us feel like family. His attention to detail, thoughtful questions, and the way he remembers the little things about our lives make every visit feel personal and warm. No matter what’s going on in the restaurant, Ben remains calm, gracious, and present. He’s a true professional, but beyond that, he leads with a kind of care and heart that’s rare to find. While our home was under renovation for nearly a year, we found ourselves visiting Banderas often—not just for the consistently phenomenal food and flawless service, but because it became our anchor, our constant. A place that felt comforting and familiar, even when everything else felt upside down. Now that our renovation is complete and we’re back to cooking at home, we still find ourselves coming in all the time. Because being greeted and cared for by Ben and his team brings us a deep sense of home—a place to land, to unwind after a long week, and to feel truly welcomed. We’ve been to Hillstones across the country, but there’s simply nothing like Banderas Newport. Ben has created something incredibly special here, and we are endlessly grateful for the heart, consistency, and warmth that he and his team bring to every experience.

We called 4 hours ahead and they told us we did not need to make a reservation. "We will get your right in." However, when we got there. Not one, not two, but three groups the same size as ours that arrived after us, by a good 20mins, were seated before us. What's up with that? Am I wrong to be bothered by that? I guess they were smart and insisted on a reservation? Really not happy with all the info from the host, seems inconsistent and not very well organized from when we first called telling us we'd be seated right away to arriving and waiting 50mins. It was a Wed night for a group of 4. When we arrived we were the only ones in the waiting area. I'm still so confused. I wasn't even even rude to the host even though I really wanted to be after 30mins of sitting. 😆 Hostess seating us asked my guest I was taking to dinner to remove their hat. What?! You guys are not that fancy....it's like a bar with a rotisserie pit and exposed kitchen. So just be aware of that gem. There was another table with some adult dressed as a cheerleader but my buddies hat was against policy?🤷 The food: My ribeye was like chewing rubber. The filet my wife got was melt in your mouth and great though. Cornbread was worth it but nothing to write home about. The banana pie was underwhelming. Not very sweet at all. Bonus ⭐ our server was fantastic. So you should thank her. Because of the wait and weird policy's of this place I would not recommend it. Can't imagine what a zoo it would be on a weekend. Food was way over priced, per the quality, in my opinion.

Live music bar
The Quiet Woman is a cozy and warm restaurant and bar in Corona del Mar that offers American fare and handcrafted drinks. It has been dedicated to celebrating local musicians for decades, providing a vibrant live music scene for its loyal patrons. The ambiance of the restaurant is reminiscent of dining at a favorite relative's countryside cottage, offering a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. With contemporary cocktails, sophisticated comfort food, and an award-winning wine list, The Quiet Woman provides an enjoyable dining experience that never goes out of style.
We had a fabulous fun time at The Quiet Woman. If you watch Real Housewives OC, you know The Quiet Woman is an iconic spot on the show. My friend Jake and I were visiting Newport Beach and made reservations to specifically sit in the iconic booth as well. The service was great, Julius the host was super friendly as well as the waitstaff! Our drinks were strong and delicious, just how we like them! The cheese garlic bread was so tasty. We ordered the crab legs & lamb, both were amazing! The crab legs were meaty and delicious! There was also a live band playing which was super fun! 10/10 recommend!

10/10 time! Our friend group came to Newport for one our friend’s birthday and we had such a great time here! The martinis are great and our server was so amazing! She took a group photo for us in the booth and even had someone come pull the dangling light in the middle away. The martinis are big bc they come with more to pour on the side. The calamari was some of the best calamari I have ever had! Around 9:00 live music did start, but we enjoyed singing along 🙂

I've always wanted to come here after seeing it on The Real Housewives of OC. The food was delicious and the drinks were great. The location is smaller than I thought but I love the intimacy. A reservation is highly recommended. The surrounding area offers many other places to stop by after enjoying a wonderful dinner.

DELICIOUS. Definitely will go back when it town again. The atmosphere was great. The hostess (manager I believe) noticed the table she had planned to sit us at had a rowdy group so she asked if we'd prefer to sit away from them. Just for her to notice that is top service. I had lamb chops...amazing & my husband had "the best steak of his entire life" (his words). The chef even noticed my husband interested in the kitchen and invited him back there to look at the oven and how they operate in such a small space. WONDERFUL TIME. GOOOOO!!!

It's hard to believe that a place so small can check all the boxes . The intimacy of it allows you to feel as if you're all invited to the same party. The food is spectacular and the drinks creative.

I went to The Quiet Woman with my friend on Sunday evening, August 17, 2025. We got there about 8:40 PM. 2 tables were occupied and there were a few people at the bar. We waited to be seated. While waiting, we looked around and enjoyed looking at the art. There was a male server busy cleaning a table so we patiently waited for him. He finished cleaning the table then went to the back, didn’t acknowledge us. Then my friend made eye contact with the bar tender and he also didn’t acknowledge us. Then I noticed a female server in the far back next to the male server, she looked in our direction, I waved to get her attention, she saw me then looked away. After about 7 minutes of waiting and being ignored, we left. I realize now that they were closing soon and maybe that’s why they didn’t want to seat us but why not let us know?? The servers were actually just plain rude and unprofessional, just basically ignoring us. I’ve really never been treated like this before. Also sidenote, I didn’t see their hours posted on the door which would have been helpful. What they DID have near here door was a notice saying “treat people the way you want to be treated”…. Which is just hilarious because they treated us terribly.

Bustling busy full of late night bar goers on weekend, great food. Had Nantucket scallops, husband and friends had ribeye. the Thai coconut mussels were delicious app, as well as calamari. Husband had smoke on the beach mezcal drink, we had sugar dog which was like a greyhound with ruby grapefruit. Fun night. Music was fine, like 90s covers. Band could have been little better but still enjoyable. Fun night it gets quite loud. lots of people watching.

Coolest spot but bartender is shady. A beer got spilt when I was handing her my card and she charged me for it. Strange customer service.

Italian restaurant
Rothschild's Restaurant has been a beloved fixture in Corona Del Mar for over 30 years, offering a classic and refined dining experience. The restaurant exudes an old-world charm with its stately setting and cozy ambiance, making it an ideal choice for a romantic dinner or casual gathering with friends. Specializing in Northern Italian and Continental classics, the menu features expertly prepared dishes that showcase the best of Italian cuisine, including traditional pasta dishes and delectable desserts.
Amazing staff and ambience! It definitely gives New York City steakhouse martini vibes. The espresso light was so delicious and creamy. It had the perfect balance of espresso and sweetness. The Ceaser salad was my favorite dish of the night

This is, overall, a great little Italian spot in CDM. Excellent menu options with great food and beverages and friendly service. The only thing hindering it is the location. It is not easy to find parking and wherever you sit, there is a great deal of street noise especially if you sit outside as your only a few feet from the PCH, we twice had fire trucks blaring sirens right next to us during our meal. Nevertheless, this won't stop us from coming back, as the food was very good, I tried the pork milanese and it was crispy and delicious. The charcuterie was a great selection as well.

Rothschild’s is a classic in Corona del Mar—an Italian staple that’s been around for years, and for good reason. My wife and I went for a date night and really enjoyed the experience. The ambiance was cozy and welcoming, and the food was delicious. Service was friendly and fast. They actually forgot to bring out one of the dishes we ordered, but as soon as they realized it, they brought it out promptly and even removed it from the bill, which we really appreciated. That kind of professionalism goes a long way. Parking on the street was a bit tough, but there’s valet available in the back if you’re okay with the extra cost. Overall, a great spot for a casual yet refined dinner. We had a lovely evening and look forward to coming back—next time maybe with friends!

This place was good, but the best part was towards the end of the night where they started playing really good music inside the main bar area. We had a private party in the private room of about 15 people . The room was very beautiful, but hard to take photos because of the lighting. It was a great spot, but there were a few things that they added. It would’ve been better for example, a speaker in the private room would’ve made the vibe much better for a party. I ordered the penne pasta with the artichoke. It was very good, but it was lacking salt and also sauce. The sausage was olive oil base, but I couldn’t really taste it so I had to bring a side of the pink sauce which was unfortunately also lacking flavor. We also had a round of espresso martinis. Everyone else looked good, but mine didn’t and it was quite bitter. I wish I would’ve tried a different drink to make a good review on that. Great spot for a party tho if you’re sitting in the main area

Rothchild in Corona Del Mar has officially earned its place as one of our family staples. The cozy, welcoming vibe makes it an easy weeknight pick—but it’s the food (and desserts!) that keep us coming back. The kids are completely hooked on the Cacio e Pepe—perfectly creamy, peppery, and always made even better with a side of grilled chicken. I usually go for their Caesar salad—you can’t go wrong with either grilled chicken or salmon on top; both are fresh, flavorful, and just the right portion. This time, we started with the truffle fries and garlic bread—and wow. The fries were crisp and golden with just the right hit of truffle and shaved Parm, while the garlic bread was pillowy, buttery, and loaded with flavor. Total table-pleasers. And then… the Oreo pie. Honestly? It’s the real reason we keep coming back. Cold, creamy, chocolatey, and ridiculously good. One slice is never enough. Shoutout to Debi, who always makes the experience next-level by custom ordering everything just how the kids (and I) like it. She’s kind, patient, and truly makes you feel at home. Oh—and I tried a Last Word cocktail this time. Bright, herbal, and beautifully balanced. Clearly, their bar program knows what it’s doing. Rothchild delivers every time—with flavor, warmth, and that neighborhood charm you can’t fake.

Off-the-rails-good. Why, WHY does this place only have 300 reviews?!?! Douchy folks of "The Californians" frequent here? Well step aside and let a real person give their option: this place is amazing you're welcome period. Super friendly and very accommodating staff, heavy poured drinks, and just stupid delicious food. The Pistachio Basil Pesto pasta is one of the top 5 most delicious things I've ever put in my mouth. And to top it all off, on a great Autumn evening, to open all of the huge dining area windows and let the cool coastal breeze in? Simply, magical. I hope, I REALLY hope to come back to Rothschild's soon.

What a great spot! Rothschild's has been there since 1977, I've driven past it many times but as my neighbor now works there I finally made a reservation. Great food, excellent service and many lovely seating options. And yes they have valet parking. This family owed restaurant was a treasure to finally experience. I will definitely be back!!

Absolutely delicious!!! We made a last minute reservation on a Friday and we're accommodated marvelously despite having a stroller with us. Everything we ordered was impecable and tasty, but of favorites were the veal & ricotta meatballs, escargot (could eat just multiple orders) and the chocolate mousse. The vongole pasta and pork milanese we also spectacular. Not only did we love the food, but the restaurant itself is beautiful, great ambiance and classic decor.
