Trasiego is a renowned restaurant located in Barbastro, known for its traditional yet elegant menu. It has been highly recommended by the Michelin Guide for its exceptional value and quality. The establishment offers modern cuisine and is listed on the Michelin guide. Additionally, it provides a midweek menu that includes three courses and wine at an affordable price. This makes Trasiego a must-visit dining spot for those looking to experience high-quality gastronomy in Barbastro.
Trasiego will never disappoint. We love coming here as a family, to celebrate or just to make a casual dinner special. My favourites are tuna tartar, oysters Gillardeau N2, paletilla, risotto with mushrooms. I am also a big advocate for the local Somontano D.O. wines. On a summer day I order flirty Blum, a fizzy, limited edition rose wine from bodega Laus.

The food overall was great, service good. Steak tartar was amazing, best bacalao we have tried so far. Entrecôte and paletilla de ternasco on the other hand was a little too dry and overcooked. Very pleasant ambience and in general good value for money.

After a beautiful morning in Alquézar, exploring the route along the canyon of the Vera River - with spectacular views and the possibility of swimming in turquoise waters - we went to dine at this restaurant, located in the central offices of the Regulatory Council of the Somontano Designation of Origin wine. It was an excellent choice: their gastronomic proposal, embodied in a menu rooted in traditional Aragonese cuisine, is incredibly appealing in its entirety. We opted for the truffled potato croquette, stuffed peppers, and tomato salad as starters; followed by the grilled matured national beef ribeye, and finished with the torrija dessert accompanied by ice cream, toffee, and walnuts. We left very satisfied with the food, service, and ambiance of the place. Highly recommended!

Cathedral
The Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption, located in the charming city of Barbastro, is a remarkable testament to the city's rich history. Once home to eight mosques during Muslim rule, this cathedral stands out as the most significant among them. While its exterior may appear understated and unassuming, stepping inside reveals an awe-inspiring interior that exudes majesty and elegance. Visitors are often captivated by features such as the Christ of Miracles, beautifully sheltered under a striking black marble canopy.

(Translated by Google) Our Lady of the Assumption. In the city of Barbastro (Huesca), Spain, stands this magnificent cathedral dedicated to Our Lady of the Assumption. It was built between 1517 and 1533 in the late Gothic and early Renaissance periods. It has a hall plan with three naves of equal height and star-shaped ribbed vaults supported by six slender columns resembling palm trees. Of particular note is the magnificent main altarpiece, whose base is the work of Damián Forment, the greatest master sculptor of his time in the Crown of Aragon, made of alabaster. The rest of the altarpiece is made of polychrome wood. On the exterior, the slender, free-standing tower stands out, topped by a pointed spire.

The Antigua iglesia de San Julián is a remarkable historical site that reflects the rich heritage of Barbastro. This ancient church, with its stunning architecture and serene ambiance, invites visitors to explore its storied past. As you make your way back to the cathedral tower, take a leisurely stroll through the charming narrow streets of Esperanza and La Pena. Here, at the intersection of these quaint lanes, you'll find the historic synagogue of Barbastro. This site holds a poignant story; after being compelled to convert by royal decree, the local Jewish community transformed their beloved synagogue into a shrine known as San Salvador. It's a fascinating glimpse into the rich tapestry of history that defines this area.

Mediterranean restaurant
Restaurante El Rincón is a charming find in the area, offering a wide daily menu with no à la carte or children's menu options. Despite initial hesitation due to its popularity and waiting list, giving it a chance proved worthwhile. The elaborate and generous starters such as truffle and parmesan chicken cannelloni and Iberian ham crepe delighted both adults and kids.
Very nice place , great workers , great food and service. Well done. It was worth a visit. I would highly recommend coming here for lunch.
Karolis G — Google review
Despite the restaurant being busy, the service was efficient and the food came out quickly. But the brisk and condescending manner of the waitress who served us put a dampener on our experience this afternoon. I was clearly struggling with my Spanish (which is my 6th language) and she made absolutely no effort to accommodate me such as by slowing down her speech, miming or asking if I spoke another language, and instead treated me as if I were an idiot. She must have disliked her job as I did not see her smile once at us or any other guests. However, we were cheered up by the friendly gentleman who came out from the kitchen and chatted with the couple next to us, then greeted us with a friendly “buenas”. I assume he was either the chef or owner, as he wore a white shirt that said “El Rincón”. As for the food, the menú del día was great value at 22€ which included a three course meal, bread with olives and wine. For the starters we had the tomato salad and eggplant millefeuille, for the mains we had salmon and tuna, and for dessert we had fruit salad and carrot cake. Most of the food was too heavy, salty and oily for my liking and the carrot cake was a tad on the dry side, but the lemon curd and yoghurt mousse were delicious and added enough moisture to balance the dessert.

Nestled in the charming town of Barbastro, El Placer is a delightful restaurant that promises an unforgettable dining experience. With a menu that showcases the finest local ingredients, this eatery offers a variety of dishes that cater to all tastes. On weekends, guests can indulge in an exquisite tasting menu that highlights the culinary creativity without veering into overly complex territory. The ambiance exudes warmth and elegance, making it feel both luxurious and inviting.
Last week we ate at a restaurant called El Placer, situated in Barbastro, Aragón. It is a small restaurant, but it was very cozy. The whole family enjoyed the food and the atmosphere we found. We ate a very complete tasting menu at an accessible price. The variety of food was spectacular, we had several appetizers and two main dishes. The restaurant was clean and the decoration was pretty. They have vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options to choose, which was quite helpful since a family member had celiac disease. The waiters and cooks were very nice to us and helped us choose the best options. They recommended a pretty good wine from Somontano. It is advisable to book in advance, as weekends are usually quite crowded and there may not be space on the same day. As for the price, it was eaten at an affordable price compared to the quality of the food. I recommend this restaurant for all types of audiences, whether it is a family meal, friends, dinner or business lunch... We also have combined dishes for children, like meat with chips, soup, paste... I would give the restaurant 5 stars, since they are only meals and I would like to be able to go to dinner one day to enjoy it more. In addition, it is centrally located and after eating you can visit the city center.

(Translated by Google) A varied daily menu with a touch of culinary delicacy. Even the fries that accompany the main courses are perfectly fried and crispy. The bread could be improved. The red wine is very good. Among the desserts, I would highlight the mango yogurt. The excessive noise of voices greatly reduces the aforementioned pleasure some of us seek when enjoying food. Is it crazy to ask not to speak loudly in restaurants? Decorating with blinds, fabrics, or cork sometimes improves the acoustics.

La Nueva Barrica is a delightful dining spot that offers a tempting daily menu at an affordable price, with tropical-inspired sauces and high-quality ingredients. While the food shines—like the refreshing goat cheese salad with mango dressing and tender artichokes paired with crispy ham—the service could use some speed improvements.
