The Vischpoort, a city gate from the 14th century in Harderwijk, was utilized by fishing vessels and features an 18th-century lighthouse atop. Among the six city gates of that time in Harderwijk, the Vischpoort (formerly known as Lage Bruggepoort) is the sole remaining one. During the 13th century, Harderwijk experienced rapid growth as a trading hub.

Dolfinarium Harderwijk is a major marine animal park featuring dolphin, seal, and walrus shows as well as demonstrations. The park offers visitors the opportunity to watch dolphins perform tricks and shows, and even interact with them up close. It's a popular destination for families and individuals alike, with well-executed dolphin shows being a highlight. The village and walking path nearby add to the overall charm of the experience. Additionally, there are online discounts available for those looking to visit.
We actually really enjoyed it! We came with low expectations after reading some mixed reviews, but it turned out to be a fun day for the kids. We were a family of 6 (ages 4 to 16) visiting on a rainy day. Most of the park is outdoors, so we did get quite wet, but the animal shows still took place, and they were enjoyable. By the afternoon, the sun came out, and we were able to enjoy the park even more. The place is well-organized and clean, with plenty of seating areas and playgrounds for kids. There were also inflatables, and by the beach area we got to play in the sand and water once the rain stopped – it’s really a beautiful spot. They had a nice bubble and snow foam area too, which the kids loved. The animal shows are short but cute, and it’s great to see the animals up close and watch them interact. Of course, the highlight was the main dolphin show in the indoor auditorium – very impressive! Tip: Buy your tickets online or through discount websites – it makes the visit much more affordable. Also, bring your own umbrella or rain poncho, because prices for those inside the park are very high.

It is a good experience for a day at the weekend to spend here. I will not say this has the best aquatic ecosystem or animals here, but it is decent. The dolphin show is great among all the shows. The other shows are also decent. We had a good time here. You will find water slides here so it could be a good time to spend in hot summer. You have the beach access for bathing and other fun activities.

Park is smack in the middle of city center. It's much smaller than I remembered. Still a lovely vibe in the park. Loads of playgrounds for the kids. Dolphin show is absolutely amazing. Food is a bit overpriced for what is offered. When finished seeing the animals and playtime is over you can enjoy walking in town after.

We had such a great day here. For the price you pay this is such good value. There are shows with the sea lions and dolphins through the day. Plenty for the children to play on. The water park was loads of fun for my boys, with some great shoots. A member of staff took time to talk to us so we gain a good insight to looking after the dolphins. The virtual reality part was uber cool. The park, in true Dutch style, is very well run. Would seriously recommend for all.

It was really great, the dolphins looked amazing. The staff seems to take really good care of the animals. There where also other animals and we really enjoyed them to. The food was good but a little pricey! And bathroom looked so good either way al those pictures of dolphins!!! We’ll come back for sure!!!!!!

A wonderful place for children and not only. The shows are scheduled in such a way that you don't miss any of them. I recommend it for a relaxing day!

Amazing place... only one show was in English subtitles... where bad ...but the rest was very nice ...kids can also touch fish with their hands! There is also a small waterpark..in varm day for kids and also adults nice place for freshing. Near is also see...
Simona R — Google review
Waste of time and money. You go there to see dolphins and anyway you look at them on the screen!!!!!?? Shows were very short. I came here to see dolphins live and they forced us to look on them on the screen and turned off the lights to not see dolphins in the pool during that!!! Underground exposition was very poor and hard to see anything. Water transparency 0.5m... They sent us to the furthest parking lot even though there were free spaces near the dolphinarium. NOTHING SPECIAL...

Located in a historic building, Restaurant Ratatouille offers a charming guest accommodation above the restaurant. Accessible through a narrow alley, the spacious lodging ensures privacy and flexibility with no set breakfast times. The cozy atmosphere and attentive staff make guests feel at ease upon arrival. With an emphasis on organic, locally sourced ingredients, the restaurant's menu showcases a variety of dishes that skillfully combine vegetables with fish or meat.
Cozy French inspired restaurant. Dishes followed modern French main stream. Overall the food of the surprise menu was flavorful, offered a lot of variety and has been reasonable priced. Affordable upscale cuisine. Some components would have needed a bit more attention to necessary elevation. In one dish the offered soup lacked salt while the accompanying cornet with mango was perfectly matched and balanced. Decent wines for a fair price of 8€ per glass. Exceptional friendly and authentic service.

`Very disappointing. Very tasteless food and very oily. Waitress did not know how to handle our feedback. Poor selection of predominantly French wines ( I am not a fan of French wines so there was very little left to choose from). The only positives: nice ambiance and food presentation was good.

Nestled in the charming old town of Harderwijk, 't Nonnetje is a delightful and intimate restaurant that boasts two Michelin stars. This culinary gem, located at the historic Vischmarkt, offers guests an unforgettable dining experience where each dish tells its own unique story. Under the expert guidance of owner Robert-Jan Nijland and SVH master chef Michel van der Kroft, diners are treated to a creative journey through original flavors crafted from pure organic seasonal ingredients.
Fantastic fine dining restaurant, 2 Michelin stars, with a very warm service. Very kind and attentive staff and chef/owner. Worth every penny and some more. Looking forward to my next visits 😊🙏🏻

I had the delightful opportunity to dine at this establishment late last year, and it stands out as one of the most enjoyable Michelin Star restaurant experiences I've ever had. The ambiance exuded coziness and charm, nestled in a beautiful town that I specifically visited for this culinary gem. The service was attentive and informative, striking the perfect balance. Remarkably, every single dish exceeded expectations – a rarity at Michelin restaurants. Each dish was thoughtfully created with the freshest and finest ingredients, and it was evident that meticulous care went into crafting the menu. The menu items were expertly paired to create a purposeful and delightful dining experience. The Eel Pate and Foie gras left an indelible impression, truly mind-blowing.

Cozy, high-quality Michelin restaurant in a cute town. 4 to 6 courses instead of 10 to 15, but each one has more filling than typical Michelin. Excellent wine pairing and very good service.

Great food in this two star Michelin restaurant in the picturesque town of Harderwijk. Pronounced and experimental flavors, mostly amazing, sometimes a little bit off (but that's the risk of experimenting). Passionate chef, very kind personnel. The 4 courses menu was a lot, perhaps a bit too much, but we just kept eating because most of it was delicious. We sat outside on the patio with a pretty view over the square. Great restaurant, certainly worthy of a Michelin star. Perhaps in the future they could focus a bit more on vegetarian food and non-alcoholic drinks, since options were limited in that regard. Highly recommended.

Excellent service, owner and main chef would greet and had a little chitchat with us, other stuffs are well trained and polite too. Some dishes are astonishing, e.g. the elderflower ijs oysters are very special and refreshing for summer. There are only two dishes, the Iberico pork dim sum and the coconut dessert, that i shall recommend to further improve or replace with something else. We had a six courses lunch plus oysters and wine, very full by the end and also one of the most expensive lunches we had, but we did enjoy. Its location is also a nice little town that worth walking around.

For me/for us, its gonna be 5 stars. It’s our first time to experience this place and we can say that we loved the experience. From the beginning till end, staff were attentive and nice. The food combination with wine arrangement was superb! He had a nice pre-birthday experience as they also gave him a congratulatory dessert 😉

Stunning experience! [Welcoming bite] soft fried fish, juicy and sweet from the natural ingredients [Homemade bread with salted butter from Leiden] simple but yummy 😋 [DIY sandwich with beef and duck liver] Fun! The mustard/pickle are made into sorbet, spread on the muffin-like bread to create your own “sandwich” [Chicken “family combo”] including different parts of chicken: leg/ chest/ stomach/ liver etc with savory sauce. Mamamia!! [Tangerine dessert] start with the ball on the spoon which exploded in your mouth with overwhelming orange flower aroma! Amazing! The service is really friendly and the wine pairing recommendations are professional 🤝

Restaurant Caert is a delightful gem nestled in the heart of Harderwijk, adding a fresh twist to the local dining scene. This charming eatery is run by an enthusiastic team of young chefs who are dedicated to crafting innovative dishes using seasonal ingredients. The ambiance strikes a balance between chic and cozy, making it perfect for an intimate evening out. During my visit, I indulged in an exquisite six-course menu paired with carefully selected wines that complemented each dish beautifully.
Absolutely delicious food, a great staff and very fair priced. We visited for lunch, but we'll definitely be back for dinner.

If I could, I would give them 10 stars. Ive been to many fine dining restaurants, and the food and overall experience beats most, even the ones with Michelin stars. Tasty food, good wine, great inner decor. What I liked the most was the young team & open kitchen; I would estimate the average age at 27, which gives a nice youthful touch.

(Translated by Google) This is not really a nice place for outdoor dining. You have a bit of a view of the entrance to the Action, Vomar and Xenos and on a Friday evening shopping evening it is quite busy and noisy. A large group came next to us, which made it even busier. Personally, I would have chosen to place the 2 tables on the other side of the bench and create some space between the large group and the two of them and the rest of the terrace. Furthermore, for longer tables, I think there could be a cushion on the chairs for more comfort. And then some nicer plants or flowers instead of the branches that were now there and were also in the way of the service. I think it looks nice inside. So for the winter months I don't think you realize anything about the location. The food is like a high segment experience. I like that. You get great service. Nice welcome and all wines and dishes are nicely explained. I like that a normal conversation can also be had. This makes it accessible again. The food is good. Some dishes could use a little more balance. Like the entree with the broad beans, it was a fairly large portion. And the main course was just a bit on the small side with few filling elements. I like that you get a Michelin experience for an affordable price. The wines are nicely chosen and the attention at the table is good. The team works together like a well-oiled machine. Everyone helps each other and easily picks up things from a colleague. Even the kitchen walks along with a dish and gives the same explanation. Everyone is well informed and they know how to work in the catering industry. Great team! I couldn't fit my bag and I asked for a chair or stool. This was immediately purchased at Xenos. This already says enough about the service! And then such a location is of course useful :). So definitely a place to go. You can easily park in the garage at the Vomar and you will be there in no time. Vegetarian food is possible here and allergies are also taken into account.

(Translated by Google) I believe they have a complete team of architects, inventors, and artists at this restaurant, but I'd rather call it a studio, just for food. And when serving, someone comes to the table, a combination of educators and guides, to talk about the journey, origins, composition, preparation, styling, interior, colors, the fusion, and the taste experience of ingredients and products. And even then, I'm not sure this summary covers it all. What an experience it was, how surprised we were, and how much we enjoyed it!

(Translated by Google) **An unforgettable dining experience** My visit to the Caert restaurant was a real highlight. The service was first class - the staff were not only friendly and attentive, but also made you feel completely comfortable. What was particularly impressive was that every time you got up, the table was immediately set up again. Another plus point was the consideration of personal intolerances. The team addressed my needs individually, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The non-alcoholic drink accompaniment was excellent. Each combination was well thought out and perfectly complemented the flavors of the dishes. In addition, the price-performance ratio is right in every respect. Overall, I felt very well looked after at Restaurant Caert. I will definitely come back and highly recommend this restaurant. Enjoyed this very much, the place is extraordinary and the building is very historical. Decor is very peaceful and vibes are relaxed. The food is exceptional, as you dive into new forms of combinations, textures and tastes. The Chef is present and will gladly talk to you. Overall it is a good experience. One small inconvenience, and it does not necessarily involve only this restaurant but all the Michelin restaurants I visited, is the small portions that can be some times disappointing.

We booked a table for the 3rd of August 2025 and when we reached the location the restaurant was closed! We tried to call them 4 times before arriving there as their staff tried to reach out to us at 8am on Sunday (come on, it's Sunday, drop an SMS if there is an issue or whatever may be the reason) Additionally, we have received the reservation confirmation via email and they have never canceled it, so we assumed all was good as per confirmation receipt. This is pretty ridiculous as we traveled around 1h for this special occasion. Untrastable restaurant!

I really don’t know were I should start. My mother and I had an wonderful evening. It begins with the very nice young man who welcomed us at the front door and brought us to our table. I think we’ve got the best table at the restaurant, right near the kitchen. I’m a chef by myself and it was very interesting to have a little look into the kitchen and watch these young chefs who cooks with joy and passion our dishes. We recognized that every single member of the stuff was so friendly and you could feel the passion for what they are doing. And we were very impressed by the fact that the owner by herself worked as a part of her stuff, by serving dishes, drinks or takes the orders. She and her team was an perfectly well-rehearsed team. We’ve had a four course menu and every single course was a little explosion of different tastes. You can feel the love and the passion behind every dish. My mother told me later that this restaurant is know one of her favorite in years. (Since 4 years we go every year on vacation and try Michelin star restaurants in different cities / countries) I could write much more but you all have to try it by yourself. So all I can say is THANK YOU for one of our best dinner nights in years. We would love to come back and hopefully we have the pleasure to meet the head chef in person. (We were there at 7/20/2019)

Place and environment is okay. No accessible toilets for wheelchair. Food is quite average and quite pricy. I ordered burrito pulled chicken and it was big pieces of chicken, not much taste. They added pumpkin, which make the whole burrito very sweet. Staff is kind.

Quite expensive for the quality I ordered a grilled meat spies. It costed 11 euro's for only 4 small pieces of meat... The Chicken was dry And the "steak" Might as well been the same as eatin a shoe. And worst of all it was COLD. Then after I recieved a new one after complaining. It was still cold still dry and this time it didn't even come with a piece of steak. But then i was tired too ask for another one. The staff was decently nice tho.

While the food was okay, it wasn't worth the prices. The service was so in abundance that it was off-putting. My last drink the waiter brought the same drink as my friends ignoring what I had been drinking and requested. Not even tap water with our meal. There was no English menu (we both speak Dutch too) and it just felt from the moment we got there that service was so in our face that it was tip begging. Everything in moderation right?

The restaurant was highly understaffed on the day of our visit. The sole server also was quite rude at times. The food was bland and only loosely resembled Mexican food. The churros were undercooked and doughy. The fried chicken burger was barely edible. Most egregiously, they refused to serve tap water for the table. I would strongly recommend avoiding this restaurant.

The ribs were some of the best we have had in NL and the Pulled chicken Burger was a monster. Would have been nice to see some more mex items on the menu, Tacos and Quesadilla on the dinner menu. Buritos are nice. But a "wet" burito would be amazing. Overall very impressed and super drinks menu.

As an American I wasn't too impressed with the Latin style of the food. It was tasty but not really correct.
