Southern Italian restaurant
Marina Grande is a renowned beachfront restaurant in Amalfi, offering traditional seafood dishes and a lounge bar with terrace seating. The area is the historic heart of the Amalfi Coast, attracting many visitors due to its central location and beautiful setting. During summer, Marina Grande beach becomes vibrant with colorful umbrellas and lively scenes. The pebbly beach offers stunning turquoise waters turning into deep blue hues.
Great location and views! Great service! And the restaurant is very clean! The staff is very friendly! The place is a bit pricey but worth the price, since everything was pomade to perfection! 95% of all the pasta dishes are with seafood, and they all taste delicious! I would recommend!

Loved all experience. I took chefs tasting menu and it lasted for 2 hours. Everything was great besides that server’s look when I tipped 10 euro. The total bill was 155$. If you expect for a guest to tip more, you just have to add it to the guest’s notice in menu or somewhere. Since in Italy all tips are not expected and are optional. How I suppose to know how much I had to tip? In the USA there is a certain percentage that a guest has to tip, because server’s salary there is 2-2.50$/hour, so it’s not like here and I’m sure not like at Michelin star restaurant pay. Good luck

What is a Michelin Guide restaurant? Is it a lifestyle? A sticker on the door? Or just an imaginary rating standard? If it’s the latter, do we automatically start with 3–4 out of 5 points, or, on the contrary, do we judge with extra attention to detail? Let’s try to be rational, fair, and most importantly, sometimes rely on our own feelings. To begin with—yes, I recommend this restaurant. There were three of us. Normally, you need a reservation here, but even though we didn’t have one, and even though we arrived almost at closing time, they still kindly found us a table. Every dish was delicious. Yes, yes, I know—a Michelin Guide restaurant that knows how to cook pasta. Shocking, right? You may ask—why come here? After all, you can get tasty pasta at a nearby place for two or even three times cheaper. So what’s the difference? Here, every dish is a carefully designed creation. A painted composition. Every ingredient and spice complements the dish and creates a swirl of flavors, turning into something new. Something unique. Food: 5/5 The restaurant sits right by the sea, with fresh flowers on each table and a warm, subtle glow of light that allows the sunset to take center stage. Atmosphere: 5/5 The service was flawless—elegant table settings, prompt serving, genuinely attentive staff, and above all, a feeling of effortless comfort. They even let us carefully choose from all the teas available. Overall service: 5/5 Of course, you can find elements of this elsewhere, but rarely brought to such perfection. If you still don’t understand what a Michelin Guide restaurant really is—come here and see for yourself. P.S. We came straight after swimming at the beach, so I left the cushion on my seat wet. Sorry for not mentioning it at the time!

Our group of 4 walked into Marina Grande around 2030, without a reservation expecting to get turned away. But they gladly sat us right away. The service was excellent and the decor/plating was beautiful. We all got the tasting menu and it was reasonably priced for the amount of plates we got. Food was presented beautifully, and tasted just as good. Our wait staff was prompt, caring, and spoke about each dish, and why they loved it. Gave hints on what to look for in the flavors, and recommended wine pairings. Great start to our trip along the Amalfi coast!

Phenomenal, by the Marina. Found this place on Michelin website. The food was outstanding from the lobster pasta, the calamari was also very good, the octopus, and down to the dessert. Plus, the location is also close to the centre where all the life in Amalfi is. This place is highly recommended. There’s also a good wine list to pair.

Marina Grande is an absolute gem in Naples! We dined here twice during our trip, and it was nothing short of spectacular each time. Our cooking experience chef highly recommended it as the place to eat, and we couldn’t agree more. Last night, we opted for a simple yet divine meal: the Tortello with beef shin and black truffles, paired perfectly with a crisp Ferrari Brut sparkling wine. Every bite was a delight, bursting with flavor and showcasing the finest ingredients. The service was equally impressive—attentive, warm, and professional, making us feel right at home. Marina Grande is a must-visit for anyone seeking an unforgettable dining experience in Naples. We’ll be back!

We went to another birthday dinner and ordered the chef’s tasting menu. The food was interesting — by the third course I was already full, and after that we just tasted the dishes, which maybe upset the staff 😁 but we simply couldn’t eat more. I can’t say I experienced any “wow” flavors, but it was still interesting to visit a place that so many celebrities have been to. The staff seemed a bit dismissive — kind of like in a luxury boutique. Maybe it’s part of the image. Overall, solid 4 out of 5.
Shukran H — Google review
The prices don’t match the quality of the food. A supposed to be Michelin restaurant where the prices are certainly up to the Michelin standard, but i don’t understand how did they get the star for the food. Although the food was fresh & of high quality there was no unique taste, texture nor creativity. It was not bad food, but an average food that doesn’t not match its price and especially not the Michelin standard. On top of that one of the Servers asked us for tips, which ket us think they do the nice service for the tips and not the experience, then we said that the food wasn’t as expected so we didn’t feel like leaving tips for it, yet nobody came to ask why weren’t we satisfied. Something that a Michelin restaurant should do. UPDATE: Dear Marina Grande Team, thanks for your reply. As i said nobody asked us how is the food, and my review is not a 1 star review, but an honest 3 star review to what my experience was, you can change a dish but you can’t change the way you cook, so for my experience this was not up to the value. We were 2 individuals and therefore 2 separate reviews, we do not share 1 account but each of us felt to give an honest review of what should people like us expect. I still rate the Service with 4 stars and asking for tips did not affect the review that much, it was just the cherry on the cake, but i gave 4 stars for the Service because nobody asked how is the food, which in a Michelin restaurant is expected in 1-2 minutes after the food is served or after the first few bites.

Monastero Santa Rosa Hotel & Spa is a luxurious hotel set in a 17th-century monastery, offering elegant dining, an outdoor pool, and breathtaking sea views. The hotel's restaurant features a terrace with stunning vistas of the garden, pool, and sea. Chef Alfonso Crescenzo showcases traditional Campanian cuisine with his own creative twist, offering vibrant dishes such as mozzarella in carrozza and millefoglie di melanzana.
From the outside, this hotel whispers simplicity—but step through its doors and into the gardens beyond, and you're swept into a world that feels like Heaven itself. It's a place that doesn't just take your breath away—it fills your soul. Giuseppie welcomed me at the entrance with a warmth and grace that felt like an old friend returning home. He offered a gentle tour on the way to the spa, his kindness and professionalism shining through every word before he left me to wander freely, lost in the quiet magic of the gardens. There’s history here—deep, sacred history that reaches back to the 1600s, when this serene sanctuary was once a monastery. You feel it in every stone, every echo of the past that lingers in the air. At the spa, Natalie greeted me with such radiant warmth it lingered long after. And the massage—though I wish I could recall her name—was unforgettable, the best I’ve experienced since my time in Naples, Florida at a five-star retreat. Dinner at the Michelin-starred restaurant was nothing short of a dream. Each course was a delicate masterpiece, and the atmosphere shimmered with beauty and quiet elegance. The staff, like everyone here, carried a graciousness that felt rare and deeply genuine. I visited only three times—for the spa, dinner, and a quiet stroll—and yet, I can’t stop thinking about it. This place doesn’t just pamper the body—it renews the spirit. A stay here is a love letter to the soul.

A 5-star review doesn’t even do this experience justice. Monastero advertises relaxation and luxury and it delivers. Every single detail (from the supplied pool bag in the closet to the “confession” style room service order) feels curated to the experience. They offer a complimentary shuttle into Amalfi (about a 10 minute drive), the service is top notch, the rooms were exceptionally clean… I could go on. You CANNOT visit Amalfi and not stay here. Thank you for such a wonderful honeymoon experience- we can’t wait to hopefully be back ❤️

Had a lovely birthday dinner out on the terrace. The staff were very attentive without it feeling stuffy. They made a special cake for me to celebrate. Highly recommend.

I cannot say enough good things about the Monastero. From the impressive location, the beautiful property, the amazing gardens, to the infinity pool, the impeccable service, the kindness and warmth of the smiley personnel accompanied by a myriad of personalized touches: everything contributes to making the stay at this hotel perfection!

I write this as I am still a guest at this most magical property. It has to be the best hotel in the world - how grateful I am that I was able to experience her. The rooms, the hotel grounds, the food, the spa, the staff, the amenities - this is a 7⭐️ experience. It is situated between Positano & Amalfi- you get the best of everything- secluded luxury and shuttle service upon request to and from Amalfi where you can stay or catch a ferry to Positano or wherever. We couldn’t bear to leave so we canceled our hotel in Naples and the MSR accommodated us by adding an extra night with such ease when I know it had to have caused disruption for them. They scheduled all of our private transfers and our amazing Capri boat day - I would have to list every staff member because they were all the best of the best. You must stay here if your plans include the Amalfi Coast. I didn’t even discuss the Michelin star restaurant or the spa (so you can unwrap their grandeur when you stay) This hotel and all of her magnificence has left an indelible mark that we will talk about for the rest of our lives-much love & many thanks for what you have created MSR staff🩷

Unfortunately, I need to provide you with this complaint regarding Mauro, who worked the night shift on September 19, 2025. At approximately 4:30am, I went to the hotel lobby and told Mauro I was in the lobby because my roommate was very sick and I was unable to sleep. I was also concerned that I too would be sick. I was hoping to get a little more sleep in the lobby and asked if I could sit in the other room since it was dark. He said the room was closed so I arranged my luggage and sat in the hotel lobby and turned on a movie on my phone. Your employee, instead of being kind and understanding, at approximately 5:00am, purposely turned on all the lobby lights and kept the front door wide open to disturb me. Why would he go out of his way to disturb me? I’m assuming he had no concern that I was a hotel guest having a hard time. I will have occasion to visit your hotel again but will not do so since this is the guest treatment that exists here. All of the other hotel employees that I have encountered have been terrific during my stay. When I asked Mauro’s name, he said “not to write bullshit”. Now I’m really wondering why he is working here in care of your guests. At this moment (6:11am), Mauro is outside smoking a cigarette as the smoke has entered the lobby, along with the smell from passing cars. I’m hoping you agree that this is improper guest treatment. If so, please consider advising Mauro so other hotel guests are not exposed to his behavior. Thank you. P.s. I was reconsidering sending this complaint but decided to send it after Mauro’s “not to write bullshit” comment. Thank you for your attention.

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at the Belvedere for 10 days celebrating our 50th Anniversary and it was spectacular. We were greeted with Champagne from the friendly staff, who went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. Thank you for our beautiful balcony room with an amazing view of the coast. The shuttle bus was a godsend as taxis were very expensive the bus service was also good a bit confusing but on the plus the stop was outside the Hotel, ideal for people who don’t want to walk a distance. We especially appreciated the service and we cannot recommend the Belvedere Hotel enough for anyone seeking a romantic getaway or special occasion. The stunning location, incredible staff especially Thomass love you 😍 who made our Anniversary trip to the Amalfi Coast a dream come true. Thank you so much.

Beautiful location. Excellent pool with amazing view of the coast. Vibe is very low key. Quiet. Rooms are a step back in time but clean and functional. Small but functional bathrooms. We had a beautiful patio with an amazing view.

A true hidden gem. Amazing value for money. Breathtaking views, the smell of the sea and pines, retro interiors that add to the character and vibe kf rhis classic Amalfi coast hotel. I hope they wont renovate it and keep up the classic 60s style interior. Great service, cuisine and own beach which os never crowded and feels private and prestigious. There is a very nice restaurant nearby that offers a free shuttle service. The hotel can arrange a booking for you. I hope the rates don't go up by too much, cause we will definitely be back!

Pros - beautiful views everywhere, nice clean large room, great cheesy eggs at breakfast, pizza by the pool as well as the two gentlemen servers were very friendly and attentive. Cons - poor communication relating to transportation (ex: depending on who you’re talking to, and whether you pay cash or card, also they were late picking us up from the port), dinner menu options and excursion details, dining room servers were not very friendly and only really enjoyed a few of the dinner menu entrees, limited options on food in the late afternoon, and our room was very warm most of the time making it hard to sleep and both the TV & safe were very confusing

This hotel was our choice of stay for 4 days visit to Amalfi coast and we already miss this place ( haven’t checked out yet lol ). Not to mention everywhere in the hotel has jaw dropping view of ocean, we felt all the staff was very caring and welcoming. We had a diner on the first night at the hotel, we were seated where we can see Amalfi town as well as the full front ocean view. We couldn’t be happier to have amazingly scrumptious foods with fantastic view and service. Breakfast was great and the room was spacious, clean and quiet with soothing sounds of ocean waves. If I get to visit Amalfi coast again, I will def come back to stay here !

The Hotel Belvedere is located minutes away from the Town of Amalfi, Italy. Completely surprised with the amazing view of the coast, pleasant & helpful staff, comfortable quiet rooms, and quality of their restaurant. Clean & warm salt water pool that included pool side drinks and food service with a life guard. Easy access to the sea that included water taxi pick up and a beach. Food at the restaurant was outstanding for breakfast and supper. The biggest surprise at the Hotel Belvedere was their entire staff. Helpful with checking in, organizing day trips, transportation, laundry service, and on site parking. Restaurant manager Pepe treated us like family and warmly greeted us every day. Outstanding food and view of the Amalfi coast meant we rarely left the hotel to eat. The reception desk staff spoke English and was always available and extremely helpful. Francesco gave us honest & helpful advice which eased our travels throughout our day trips up and down the coast (car, boat, and their shuttle service). Everyone at the front desk did everything they could to make our stay fabulous. I cannot say enough about our experience and highly recommend staying at Hotel Belvedere. Complete 5 star rating.

Ristorante L'Abside is a charming trattoria located in Piazza dei Dogi, offering a seafood-focused menu alongside antipasti, pasta, and mains. The family-run establishment provides an authentic Italian dining experience with its rustic decor featuring vaulted ceilings and white stucco walls adorned with framed artwork and wine bottle shelves. The restaurant's location allows guests to immerse themselves in the lively atmosphere of Amalfi while savoring regional cuisine.
We loved our lunch here today. The welcome was excellent & explanation of daily specials was great. The menu is not so big which we like but we still found numerous things we wanted to eat. We settled on a selection of meats & cheeses to share as a starter. I had the daily special of prawn & ricotta ravioli in lemon sauce - delicious! My husband had the daily special of white fish & linguini also delicious. He had the pannacotta with berries & he said it was one of the best he’d had. The staff were so welcoming & caring. The setting is lovely, a small square slightly off the busy area. We would thoroughly recommend this restaurant, it was the highlight of our day trip.

I went here for lunch during my trip to the Amalfi Coast, and it was truly one of the best and freshest Italian meals I’ve ever had. I ordered the seafood pasta with handmade noodles and a variety of local seafood, the grilled fish, and the grilled octopus salad – everything was top-notch, incredibly fresh, and perfectly balanced in flavour. I also loved the charming courtyard vibe. It was such a memorable and perfect experience.
Seulki C — Google review
Only a few minor flaws, but otherwise amazing. The food was delicious, the staff attentive, but not pushy at all. The portion sizes were on the smaller side (see fotos) but they likely expect diners to order multiple courses. I had the octopus which was very tasty and the pasta with clams. The pasta was dried not fresh and about 1.5-2 minutes under cooked, but not worth complaining about. I was raised by my Italian grandmother and make fresh pasta at home for decades. I know what I am saying. Considering that I arrived before the evening rush, I think it is worth mentioning. Two other minor points- I asked for crushed red pepper and cheese - a sin I know - the waitress complied, but asked if I was sure. (Funny!) They charged me for a 3rd glass of wine that I never ordered. So check your bill! When I brought that to their attention, they offered to correct the bill. I instead had them bring the glass of wine. When they brought my change, they rounded down the bill by $2 There is also a $4 service charge, which is common. So a fine meal prepared by humans whom are not perfect. They are worthy of your patronage.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant in Italy, and overall, I was quite impressed with the food and the service—though there were a few areas that could be improved. Food: I ordered the mussels and clams, the risotto, and a salad. The mussels and clams were very tasty—simple yet delicious, even if they didn’t offer any new flavors I hadn’t tried before. The risotto was also good, nicely prepared and satisfying. Service: The restaurant was quite crowded when we arrived. We wanted a table for five and were told we’d have to wait about 30 minutes to sit outside. However, I felt the seating arrangement was poorly organized. Even though we were there first, the staff kept seating groups of two as tables became available, rather than rearranging them to accommodate our larger group. This resulted in us waiting longer than expected. The hostess was a bit dry in her communication, but the waiter who took our order was extremely friendly, spoke excellent English, and made sure we felt welcome. All the staff were polite overall, and the food was served promptly once we were seated. Atmosphere: The place is popular and busy, so be prepared to wait if you’re looking for an outdoor table. Despite the crowd, the atmosphere was lively and authentic, which added to the Italian dining experience. Overall: If you’re looking for authentic, well-prepared Italian seafood and risotto, I’d recommend this restaurant for the food alone. However, I do think the staff could improve the seating arrangements to make the experience smoother for larger groups.

On our last night in Italy, we couldn’t have chosen a better place to dine in Amalfi. The restaurant offered a wonderful balance of vegetarian dishes and outstanding seafood options, each prepared with so much care and flavor. Every course felt authentic and memorable, but the desserts truly stood out — the panna cotta, in particular, was absolutely to die for. A perfect ending to our Italian journey!

This restaurant sits in the middle of a plaza which created for such a good atmosphere! The wine and food were delicious and came out so well plated! Good value for the great quality. And they accommodated my gluten allergy very well, and even brought out warm/toasted gluten free bread for me! Would eat here again

We enjoyed an unforgettable meal in the charming piazza at L’Abside, and it truly exceeded every expectation. I had the lobster linguine—quite possibly the best pasta I’ve ever tasted. Every bite was heavenly; if my husband hadn’t insisted, I would’ve ordered it a second time. He chose the seafood risotto, and it was just as outstanding—rich, perfectly cooked, and full of fresh, vibrant flavor. We paired our meal with a fantastic bottle of wine. Though I don’t recall the name, the sommelier was outstanding in guiding us to the perfect choice—one of the true highlights. The staff at L’Abside were equally impressive: warm, friendly, and attentive from start to finish. We were fortunate to have been seated in a prime spot at the front, soaking up the charming atmosphere of Piazza dei Dogi.

Taverna Buonvicino is a charming restaurant located in the heart of Amalfi's historic center. The cozy interior of this beautiful historic building provides an inviting setting for enjoying a meal. The chefs draw on traditional Neapolitan and Mediterranean influences, using local seasonal ingredients to create unforgettable dishes. This mid-priced restaurant near the Duomo offers stylishly presented fish and seafood dishes in an intimate space with a romantic courtyard.
Very tasty seafood. Fresh and exquisite flavor, just enough sourness of tomato. Home made bread and pasta! Even bread was fresh and tasty. Staff was friendly, patient and attentive. It is in a small alley so it was not touristic and I could enjoy the meal in quietness. I recommend seating outside where you can smell some flower on the tree. If I have to pick one thing out is that the wet cleaning tissue‘s smell is taking over the food’s aroma.

So full disclosure, I was so impressed by the whole experience, from service to the general knowledge of ingredients to wine selections and the quality of the plates. I ate here three nights in a row and will do it all again if and when I come back. The house specialty, the pasta in an anchovy and lemon sauce with roasted hazelnuts was phenomenal. It have never had anything like it and I doubt I will ever again. It’s that special. The lobster linguine was a bit fussy since you have to dig for the lobster meat out of the legs and joint, but that was on me. The seared tuna, delicious. The steak that they had on special, even better. Pasta scialatielli with seafood was loaded with mussels, clams, shrimp, and squid. The stuffed squash flowers, best bite that I’ve had in Italy. Also, THE AMBIANCE WAS CRAZY. Last night there was a service in the tiny church and you could hear the congregation singing. Just amazing.

This is a great little gem tucked away next to our hotel. Salvatore was our waiter and he was a delight, recommended an excellent wine and the food was delicious. I had their house specialty which was linguine in a clam sauce with hazlenuts, very unique and different. Mom had the ravioli which was amazing. The eggplant Parmesan was so good also. For dessert we also got their house specialty which was an almond sponge cake in a marscapone nougat, topped with caramelized hazlenuts and it was so good - even more special that they use a saffron liquor! If there hadn't been a chance for rain we would have sat outside in the courtyard but inside was cozy and intimate.

Great spot that’s tucked away from the craziness of the town square. It does still get busy so a reservation is recommended, but we were able to grab a table in the courtyard without a wait. The server was super lovely, making wine recommendations and cracking jokes. They give you complimentary bread to start, but it was cold /not fresh and delivered to the table in a paper bag. We went with the specials of the day - lobster linguine (Half lobster on pasta), seared tuna and pumpkin flower starter. Food was good, but not drool worthy. The waiter was the highlight of the night.

The today’s recommended Lobster Linguine is the freshest lobster we have ever had. Their signature lemon pasta (sorry I didn’t memo the Italian name) is very tasty. I’m glad that I have it tried in Amalfi. White wine was great and the cocktails is with high portion of Vodka. Staffs are very nice and English speaking too. Our reservation went smooth. Everything is great and I recommend anyone who visit Amalfi can consider having one of their meals here.

Good food served in a quiet little romantic piazza away from the main square. Prices are reasonable and service was friendly, but I was a little put off by the request to add a tip if I wanted to and the table next to me was not. Grilled octopus was the best I've ever had.

We had dinner here, it is wise to book, we saw several turned away . It’s off the main squares so quieter and you don’t have people trooping past your table. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced, aubergine starter, lobster linguine and sea bass mains, all delicious.

Such a wow-moment. We went here by chance and were lucky to get a table without a reservation. The food was amazing, service was great and I'm so happy I trusted the waiters choice for desert. It was the best dinner during our stay in the Amalfi region.
