Kathmandu

Kathmandu, Nepal's capital, is set in a valley surrounded by the Himalayan mountains. At the heart of the old city’s mazelike alleys is Durbar Square, which becomes frenetic during Indra Jatra, a religious festival featuring masked dances. Many of the city's historic sites were damaged or destroyed by a 2015 earthquake. Durbar Square's palace, Hanuman Dhoka, and Kasthamandap, a wooden Hindu temple, are being rebuilt.

Kathmandu Durbar Square is a captivating landmark nestled in the heart of old Kathmandu, specifically at Basantapur. This ancient royal complex showcases an impressive array of palaces, temples, and courtyards that date back to the Malla period. Visitors are greeted by iconic structures such as the Hanuman Dhoka Royal Palace, which served as the seat of royalty, and Kumari Ghar, home to the Living Goddess.
Basantapur Durbar Square is one of the most famous and must-visit places in Kathmandu. I went there last weekend, and honestly, it’s way more beautiful than I expected. The moment you enter, you can feel the old-time vibes — the palaces, temples, and carved wooden windows show off Nepal’s amazing history and culture. Walking around, you’ll notice every corner has something interesting, from small shrines to huge statues. The place is always full of life. There are tourists taking photos, locals hanging out, street performers doing small shows, and tiny shops selling handicrafts, jewelry, and souvenirs. I spent some time just sitting on the steps, sipping tea, and watching people go by — it was surprisingly relaxing. The sunset view is magical. The golden light hits the old buildings and makes the whole square look like a painting. I also tried some street food nearby — momo and chatpate — while exploring, which made the visit even better. The vibe is lively but not overwhelming, and you can easily spend 2–3 hours just walking, clicking photos, and enjoying the atmosphere. If you are in Kathmandu, you can’t miss Basantapur Durbar Square. It’s a perfect mix of history, culture, and fun, and every visit leaves you wanting to come back again!

Visiting Kathmandu Durbar Square was a truly unforgettable experience. The place is filled with history, culture, and stunning traditional architecture. Walking through the ancient temples, courtyards, and palaces made me feel connected to Nepal’s rich heritage. The atmosphere was lively, with locals, visitors, and street vendors adding to the charm. It’s a perfect spot to explore the beauty of old Kathmandu and appreciate the craftsmanship of the past.

Kathmandu Durbar Square is a living reminder of Nepal’s rich royal past. As you walk through the narrow, vibrant lanes to reach this square, you’ll be transported to a different era. You’ll feel the sense of antiquity as soon as you enter. The palaces, temples, and carved woodwork showcase Nepal’s amazing history and culture. The first thing that strikes you is the stunning architecture. The square is a collection of temples, shrines, courtyards, and palaces. At its core is the Hanuman Dhoka Palace, which was once the residence of the kings of Kathmandu. Although much of it is now used as a museum. Another attraction is the Kumari Ghar—the abode of the living goddess Kumari, where a young girl is worshipped as the embodiment of divine power. Another attraction is the Taleju Temple, the tallest structure in the square. Although only Hindus can enter. Nearby is a huge statue of Kalbhairav, a fearsome form of Lord Shiva. Even today, devotees come here to pray. Although several temples were damaged in the 2015 earthquake, craftsmen are still rebuilding the temples as perfectly as possible. If you are visiting Kathmandu, then Kathmandu Durbar Square should not be missed. It is a perfect blend of history and culture. Whether you are a history buff, a photographer, a culture lover, or just a curious traveler, Kathmandu Durbar Square has something for everyone.
Bhaskar M — Google review
A very beautiful place. It's rich in Nepal's modern and past history. I highly recommend hiring a guide; they'll tell you about each temple and statue. It'll take about an hour or a little more to see all the temples and listen to the history. I was accompanied by a guide named Uddab, who speaks excellent English and has a very engaging story.
Oleksandr M — Google review
Vibrant industry see when you are in Kathmandu even for a couple of hours! If you would like to enjoy the view of the entire square, just walk up to one of the many roop top cafés and restaurants overlooking Durbar Square!
Stamatios T — Google review
What a fascinating place. Went by night and again by day. Spent nearly 4 hours exploring the square. Recommend the museum albeit small. Several structures damaged by the 2015 earthquake are now open to the public but the scars are still very visible. Also recommend the small baoli/water catchment near by.

An Unesco world heritage site, and must visit in Kathmandu. It's not far from the Thamel area. Very lively place, full with locals and tourist.

Kathmandu Durbar Square is a beautiful place full of history and traditional architecture. It’s definitely worth a visit. If you go after 5 PM, there’s no ticket required, which makes the experience even better. A great spot to explore and take photos!

Garden
Nestled on the edge of the bustling Thamel district, the Garden of Dreams is a serene escape that transports you back to 1920. Originally designed for field marshal Kaiser Shumsher in an elegant English Edwardian style, this enchanting garden features six charming pavilions, tranquil fountains, and beautifully landscaped grounds adorned with urns and birdhouses. After falling into disrepair post-1964, it underwent a stunning restoration between 2000 and 2007 with support from Austria.
f you’re in Kathmandu and looking for a little break from the hustle and bustle, the Garden of Dreams is basically the city’s answer to a mini paradise. It’s a beautifully maintained garden with lush greenery, charming fountains, and enough tranquility to make you forget you're in the middle of a vibrant city. Seriously, it's like stepping into a different world where the sound of traffic is replaced by the gentle rustling of leaves. Yes, you do have to pay an entrance fee, but trust me, it’s totally worth it. For what you get – a serene escape, clean spaces, and a well-maintained garden – it's a small price to pay. Plus, the extra fee is totally justified by the delightful experience of being able to kick back and enjoy the surroundings without the usual Kathmandu chaos. The garden also has a café where you can grab a drink or bite to eat. Now, fair warning, it's on the pricier side (for Kathmandu standards), but I guess you’re paying for the peaceful vibes and the fact that you're sitting in the only place that feels this calm and relaxed in the city. Still, it’s a lovely spot to sip on something cool or enjoy a snack. For those looking for a productive escape, this could be the perfect place to study or read a book – it's quiet enough to concentrate, and the surrounding beauty might just inspire you. It’s a good spot for both relaxing and getting some serious work done. All in all, a hidden gem in Kathmandu that’s definitely worth checking out!
Niels D — Google review
Gardens of Dreams is a beautiful and peaceful place with lovely gardens and a relaxing atmosphere. The greenery and fountains make it a perfect spot for photography and unwinding. However, I found the staff to be quite rude, which was disappointing. Despite that, the garden itself is well-maintained and definitely worth a visit for anyone who loves nature and tranquility.
Celta C — Google review
“Gardens of Dream” is a beautifully crafted experience that blends atmosphere, imagination, and serenity. Whether you’re exploring its lush landscapes or following its gentle narrative, the world feels immersive and thoughtfully designed. The visuals are rich and calming, and the overall tone encourages reflection and curiosity. While its pace may feel slow for those seeking action, it excels at delivering a soothing, dream-like escape. A lovely choice for anyone who enjoys tranquil, aesthetically driven winderful experiences.

The Garden of Dreams Its beauty is unmatched, offering a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of urban life. it's a convenient retreat for anyone seeking solace amidst nature's splendor. The tranquil ambiance, coupled with its fascinating historic background, adds depth to the experience, making it not just a garden but a journey through time. this garden caters to all. Highly recommended for couples, families, and solo travelers . Don't miss dreams of garden ♥️❤️😍😃

A walled garden on a busy street, very lovely with fountains and ponds flower beds and even a maze. For me a perfect spot to enjoy a quite morning on a rainy day .. coffee shop was a bonus
Vanessa S — Google review
Ambiance is nice, but it’s quite small for a park / garden for me. And it’s surrounded with buildings, so air isn’t really fresh but understood given that Kathmandu is really populated and polluted. Air is not too refreshing here. Wanted to get out to get some fresh air cause I felt suffocated in the room with no windows. They have a cafe and restaurant. Foods were not too good too, can’t taste the cheese in the pizza, so I asked for more grated cheese but still the same, it seems like the cheese has no taste at all. Their ceasar salad is good, but the carrot soup is kinda sweet. Would have been nicer if it’s pure carrot. I asked if we can ask for a food delivery but they did not allow it. Service is good but they could have served better.
Beverly V — Google review
The location is nice to spend some time with friends. There are coffee shops inside and it's alright, but I thought the garden itself would be much bigger.
Arian A — Google review
It’s was calm and peaceful garden, one cafe inside, but no activity. You can seat and relax. 400 NPR seems pretty high for this. Do not expect toilet paper in the washrooms 😜

Nestled along the serene banks of the Bagmati River, Pashupatinath Temple stands as a revered symbol of Hindu spirituality and culture. This iconic temple, rebuilt in the 15th century, is dedicated to Lord Shiva and features stunning pagoda-style architecture adorned with gilt roofing and intricately carved silver doors. As one of the holiest sites for Hindus worldwide, it attracts countless pilgrims, especially during significant festivals like Shivaratri.
A Sacred and Soulful Place – Pashupatinath Temple Pashupatinath Temple is truly a holy and spiritual place, especially for us Nepalese. As a devoted follower of Lord Shiva, this temple holds a very special place in my heart. I make it a point to visit every year, whenever I get the chance. The atmosphere is peaceful yet powerful, and it carries deep meaning for every Hindu who visits. The ancient architecture, the sacred river, the chants, and the overall energy make this temple not just a religious site, but a place where you feel spiritually connected. It’s a blessing to have such a divine place in Nepal.

Pashupatinath Temple is one of Kathmandu’s most sacred and serene places. The moment you step inside the temple complex, you feel a deep sense of spirituality. The golden-roofed temple, traditional wood carvings, and the holy Bagmati River create a powerful and peaceful atmosphere. The temple area is well-maintained, and despite the crowd, the energy of devotion feels uplifting. The evening Bagmati Aarati is the highlight — calming, divine, and a must-experience for every visitor. Overall, Pashupatinath Temple offers a perfect blend of culture, history, and spirituality. A highly recommended place for anyone looking for peace and blessings.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I recently visited Pashupatinath Temple with my wife and child, and it was a truly divine experience. The temple’s spiritual energy is beyond words — peaceful, powerful, and full of devotion. Watching the evening aarti together by the Bagmati River filled our hearts with calm and gratitude. The chants, incense, and sacred atmosphere made us feel deeply connected to Lord Shiva. A place everyone should visit at least once in their lifetime. 🙏🕉️

Very nice temple of lord shiva. Vibe is also very positive. Temple area is very vast and clean. From main gate to temple you will have to walk more. There is also time for temple to open so please see to it before reaching there or you will have to wait. At the backside of the temple, there is a river where dead peoples rituals is done.
Sandeep B — Google review
This is a must do in Kathmandu. A large temple complex on the banks of the river. What is incredible is that you get to see locals cremating family members on the banks of the river in traditional Hindu style; both moving and fascinating. You are allowed to take photos and this is a daily event. It costs 1000 NRP to enter the temple for foreigners. You will probably be approached by a guide, which I would recommend, but agree a price up front. We paid 20 USD, but you can pay in NPR.

Pashupatinath Temple is a really special place with a strong spiritual vibe. The architecture and the whole atmosphere feel calm and meaningful. Yes, it gets very crowded, but that also shows how important the place is for people. Even with the rush, the experience feels unique and worth it. A must-visit spot if you're in Nepal.

Museums
Nestled not far from the vibrant streets of Thamel, the Narayanhiti Royal Palace stands as a testament to Nepal's regal history. Once the residence of monarchs, this stunning palace has transformed into a museum following a significant political upheaval. Visitors can marvel at its impressive architecture and explore an array of exquisite royal artifacts, including ornate furniture and captivating paintings that narrate tales of yesteryears.
Narayanhiti Palace Palace is a must-visit for anyone traveling to Kathmandu and interested in Nepal’s rich history. Once the royal palace of the Shah dynasty, it was turned into a public museum after the monarchy ended in 2008. The complex is well-preserved, giving a real glimpse into royal life. Inside, the lavish halls, elegant throne room, and preserved artifacts showcase the luxury and power of Nepal’s former kings. The audio guide (available for a small extra fee) is very informative and well worth it. Photography is not allowed inside, which can be disappointing for some, but it helps maintain the palace’s sanctity and historical value. The grounds outside are clean and peaceful with beautiful gardens and fountains — a great place to stroll and take pictures. Located in the heart of Kathmandu, it’s easy to reach by taxi or even on foot from Thamel. Entry fees are affordable for Nepali visitors, though a bit higher for foreigners. Plan at least 1-2 hours to explore properly. Overall, Narayanhiti Palace Museum is a fascinating stop for travelers looking to understand Nepal’s royal heritage and political transformation.
Reezon S — Google review
Have you seen these parts of the former royal palace? Of course, everyone says, "Wow, nice place." But no one sees these integral parts of the museum. Let's have a look at some of the pictures that remind us of an abandoned place of MAHARAJAS. This is an underrated or hidden truth in the heart of Kathmandu City. We need to talk about this side as well. That's why it's three stars only.
Ramesh B — Google review
I recently visited the Narayan Hiti Museum and was absolutely fascinated by the rich history and grandeur preserved within these palace walls. The museum beautifully showcases the legacy of Nepal’s monarchy, offering a rare and intimate look into the royal lifestyle. From royal reception halls to the King’s private chambers, every room tells a story. What truly struck me was the solemn atmosphere around the tragic Royal Massacre site—preserved exactly as it was. It felt surreal and emotional. I’ve also shared some photos, opening hours, and ticket fees info to help fellow travelers plan better. Highlights: • Intricate architecture & vintage interiors • Detailed exhibits about the monarchy • Well-maintained and peaceful • Great place for history lovers and curious explorers Highly recommend setting aside at least 1.5 to 2 hours for the full experience. This place is not just a museum—it’s a journey through Nepal’s modern history.
Nabin P — Google review
It is very fascinating place to visit. It has very hidden history of royal family and their history. We must visit. Only problem is there is nothing accessible for wheelchair in side the museum but out side gardens are very nice. There is not allowed to take the photo. I recommend you to visit once.
Moti — Google review
A beautiful palace left as it was under the royal family. The pictures of visiting Heads of State are very interesting. Very poignant when you go through the personal residence and garden of King Birendra, Queen Aishwarya, and their three children. No mobiles allowed in the Palace, and obviously, no pictures can be taken.

Narayanhiti Palace Museum is one of Kathmandu’s most fascinating historical sites. Once the royal residence of Nepal’s kings, it now stands as a museum that offers a deep insight into the country’s monarchy and political transformation. The palace’s architecture beautifully blends traditional Nepali design with modern elements, and visitors can explore lavish halls, reception rooms, and personal quarters preserved from the royal era. The museum also presents detailed exhibits about Nepal’s royal history, including the tragic 2001 royal massacre. Though photography is restricted inside, the experience feels authentic and reflective. Located near Thamel, it’s easy to reach and well worth a couple of hours for anyone interested in Nepal’s rich past. ⭐ Rating: 4.5/5 — A must-visit for history lovers and anyone curious about Nepal’s royal heritage.
Parneel S — Google review
The Narayanhiti Palace Museum in Kathmandu is a fascinating place that offers a unique glimpse into Nepal’s royal past and political history. Once the residence of Nepal’s Shah monarchy, the palace was converted into a museum after the monarchy was abolished in 2008. The palace’s architecture beautifully blends Western and traditional Nepali styles, with spacious courtyards, elegant gardens, and intricate woodwork. Inside, the museum houses 52 rooms, each named after a district of Nepal, showcasing royal chambers, meeting rooms, and ceremonial halls. The exhibits include portraits, royal artifacts, gifts from foreign dignitaries, and detailed accounts of significant events, including the tragic 2001 royal massacre. Visitors appreciate the well-maintained exhibits and the informative guided tours, which provide deep insights into the country’s transition from monarchy to republic. However, photography is not allowed inside to protect the artifacts, and all personal items must be left at the entrance. The museum is conveniently located in central Kathmandu and is accessible to tourists interested in history and culture. It is open most days except Wednesdays, and it’s advisable to allocate 1.5 to 2 hours for a thorough visit. Overall, the Narayanhiti Palace Museum is a must-visit for those wanting to understand Nepal’s rich history and royal heritage. It offers an educational and moving experience that connects visitors to Nepal’s past in a meaningful way.

OR2K is a popular restaurant in the heart of Kathmandu's Thamel district, known for its consistently good Middle Eastern cuisine. The menu features must-try dishes like Hummus, Dal Bhat, Shakshouka, fluffy pancakes, and a superb Falafel platter. The restaurant offers an intimate and artsy atmosphere with low wooden tables and soft cushions for seating.
Super delicious food and great decor! Me and my friends fully enjoyed it. The toilet was very clean as well. Appreciate the design. Every dish was really nice, surprised by the good Turkish dishes especially!

Loved the decor here!! Sit down arrangement, shoes off, very comfy, clean and chill vibes!! Tried the small combo platter (585) with 3 extra falafels (150) and banana lassi (275) for 1010 Rs = $12 AUD. Tasted quite good!! Would return and try their other items :)

It's cozy in here and at this point it's an institution. But it's old school vegetarian more than it's vegan. I came in here with a group of 7 and while you always expect to wait a while for your grub in Nepal, two of us didn't get our food until after everyone else was finished. For the relatively high prices, it's not really worth it.
Ahimsa K — Google review
This place truly deserves all the positive reviews it has. It has a very nice atmosphere, comfortable seating, fast service, and the food was delicious. I’m the kind of person who writes recommendations to help others avoid disappointment and make sure not a single moment of their stay in Kathmandu is ruined by a bad experience. Definitely visit this place

We visited OR2K a couple of times because we liked the food and the relaxed atmosphere. The clientele is mainly in their 20s but we didn't at all feel unwelcome even though we are in our 60s. They have a good range of food including Mediterranean/Middle Eastern, paninis, pasta etc. Homemade lemonade highly recommended.

Restaurant
Bhojan Griha is a unique dining experience in Kathmandu, housed in a 150-year-old building that was once home to royals. Despite its somewhat eerie interior, the restaurant comes alive with a vibrant atmosphere and offers a delightful 5-course traditional Newari feast. Guests are treated to faultless service and entertained by traditional dancing while savoring dishes like vegetable thali and Raksi (home brew).
The atmosphere was warm.. The tables were set low with the seats. It was a different experience but enjoyable. Food was served along side with the cultural performance. It's a wonderful experience. Thankful to our host who brought us here.
Andria A — Google review
Honestly - a tourist trap but a good one. Priced at usd30 for dinner including a rice wine. Lots of dances from different areas, which is fun, and the diners joined in. Food was fine, not the best, but given the atmosphere, it was worth it.
T S — Google review
This review may only be applicable to foreigners. There is an excellent and varied menu on the website. It is not available to foreigners. We asked about it and we were told we could only have one menu, quoted in US dollars which is always strange, attached here. Interesting, the locals at the table next to us had a totally different menu and food than we did. Foreigners are not allowed to order what they were ordering. Apparently. The meat was much tougher than expected, service was fairly flat. There are no signs so you have to walk through the building and somebody was holding a speech or religious service and you have to walk through it. For a price that is extremely high in Nepal, especially given the lack of choice available to foreigners relative to what is advertised on the site, it was a very bad deal (Note we were here for lunch, I understand there may be some evening music and entertainment and this review only applies to lunch)

Worst experience🥱 Food was okay Cultural dance 👍 Service 👎 Do visit to experience the vibrant Nepali cultural dances — a wonderful showcase of diverse traditions and rhythms. You’ll truly enjoy the performances, though the long wait for service might make the experience feel a bit less exciting.

The menu isn’t suitable for kids, and there’s no wheelchair access. The fixed menu offered no choices, and the water quality wasn’t great. There were no options to purchase bottled mineral water, and when we brought our own, the manager was rude and dismissive of our feedback. While the cultural show was a nice effort, more variety and options for kids and international guests would enhance the experience specially for the price paid

Tibetan restaurant
Yangling Tibetan Restaurant is a popular dining spot in Kathmandu known for its delicious momos, traditional Nepalese dumplings filled with meat, cheese, or vegetables and served steamed or fried. This family-run restaurant also offers other traditional dishes such as thukpa, a hot noodle soup with meat and vegetables, and Tibetan butter tea. Despite its unassuming exterior, the restaurant's menu is filled with Tibetan classics that are sure to delight diners.
Incredibly tasty food at low prices! Their veg chili momos are zesty and flavorful, and their veg chow mein tastes wonderful with the chutney! I think this might be my favorite place in Kathmandu.

Yangling is the place in KTM for great Momos, and amazing Thukpas / Thenthuk. My personal recommendation are the steam buff momos, and the fried chicken momos. For Thenthuk, I would go for the mixed, with nice chicken, egg, veggies, and tasty noodles. Particularly amazing is the broth, which tastes rich in flavor, and has a nice texture. Service is really friendly, prices fair, and the vibe in the place in the first or second floor is amazing!

If you’re in Kathmandu and you haven't tried the chili momos at Yangling Tibetan Restaurant, what are you even doing with your life? These bad boys are spicy—and I mean spicy—but in the best possible way. As someone who enjoys a good kick in the mouth, these chili momos quickly became my favorite dish during my stay. Seriously, if you like your food to bring a little (or a lot) of heat, you'll be in heaven. And the best part? They won’t break the bank. The prices here are ridiculously low for the quality and flavor you get. But it’s not just the food that makes this place special. The people here are super friendly and welcoming, always ready to share a smile or have a chat. It’s the kind of place where you feel like a regular, even if it’s your first time. I ended up eating here multiple times during my stay in Kathmandu (who can resist those momos?), and every visit felt like a mini celebration of food, flavor, and hospitality. So, if you’re craving something flavorful, spicy, and affordable, Yangling is the place to be. Just remember: don’t underestimate the chili—but hey, if you can handle the heat, you’ll be rewarded with one of the best food experiences in Kathmandu.

After a lot of research for the best momos in Kathmandu, we settled for this hidden gem. Loved the vegetable chow mein!! The momos were also some of the best we’ve had in Nepal. Great location too!

Barahsinghe – craft beer, a pilsner that tastes surprisingly like Czech Pilsner. Really good! I was shocked to find out it's imported from Germany – smells amazing and tastes even better, served in chilled glass. They also have vodka, whiskey and other hard alcohol, if you like. Also buffalo meat, chicken – finally, life is full of flavors again! After being ovo-fish-veg diet in Rishikesh, where things were pretty bland, I need to pace myself. That said, I definitely don’t miss hard alcohol. The vegetarian noodle soup Thukpa smells divine – garlic, red/spring onion, carrot, cabbage thinly sliced, yumm, and either butter or ghee. Too bad I’m only here for one day, and on the first day, my stomach isn’t ready for the meat Thukpa, which seems to be very popular here. It’s quite spicy though – red chili! Also serve condiments: pickled green chilies and a red chili paste – definitely skipping those. The noodles themselves are nothing special most probably made of wheat, but the broth is amazing. I can only imagine how delicious the meat broth must be! Definitely worth of try.

Italian restaurant
Pizza restaurant
Located in the heart of Thamel, Kathmandu, Fire and Ice Pizzeria has been a beloved destination for both locals and travelers since its establishment in 1995. The restaurant was initiated by Italian chefs from Naples at the Sanchaya Kosh Bhawan and quickly gained popularity for its authentic Italian cuisine, especially its specialty pizzas like Insalata Mista, Ettore pizza, Rompipalle pizza, Calzones, and the signature Fire and Ice pizza.
So it’s our last night in Kathmandu and I’m am specifically looking for some ice cream, just fancied something different in a town dominated with spicy food. We eventually found Fire & Ice a pizza and ice cream parlour. The place was buzzing the pizzas looked amazing and on the large size we just ordered Ice Cream and Brownie & Ice Cream and Apple Pie. The staff were really attentive and friendly our orders arrived and they were awesome. My Apple Pie has got to be one of the very best I have had with just a gentle covering of cinnamon wow you have to go here to try it.

The ambience of fire and ice is classic. It’s one of a kind in Nepal. Now lets talk about the food: I was utterly disappointed by the level of food that was served. The whole purpose of my visit as a vegetarian critique to this place was the taste the elegance of pizza that Nepal has to offer. But no, my expectations was shattered by how plain the food was. Pizza: The crust was fine but it seemed as though the crust was just an elevated version of ‘Roti— a classic nepali staple’. No, it doesn’t go with the taste of pizza. Second, it was very bland. Where is the pizza sauce? Blended tomato is not pizza sauce. It was almost non-existent. Now, I ordered the classic ‘Fire and Ice’ pizza. And what did I get? An elevated version of roti with tomato sauce topped with cheese, and potato, and two drops of pesto. Potato? Seriously? In a pizza? As a staple? No. I have had Fire and Ice before, it was sublime. I still remember the incredible taste they had to offer a decade ago. And now to think that the quality has degraded as such, it’s a shame. Chips: What? I have never tasted anything so bland. I couldn’t even finish it. And the sauce it came with— abysmal. You got to realize that you can’t simply pair two things and call it a dish. Cost is reasonable. As international standard kitchen, paying ~$7 for a full portion of chips is entirely reasonable. But come on, at least make a little effort in making the dish a little better. I would never recommend the fancy french name hidden bland potato chips to anyone. Overall, the ambience of the place and server is good. But I’m sorry, going here for food, especially in today’s standard is not worth it at all. In one word: Disappointed.

I love ice fire. Pizza quite good. In my opinion the dough should be perfected to get a real crispy pizza. It is a real pity that the white wine served is not chilly as it MUST be. We always have to ask for ice and it s a pity for the wine ! The restaurant was founded by ab italian lady from Neapel.. so this should nor happen !! But it s a MUST GO restaurant.

This is the pizzeria I would recommend anyone visiting thamel to go and have their pizza at. The food was incredibly tasty and the ambience just added to it. Really loved the experience and would highly recommend it.

Some of the best pizza you will find in Nepal. Probably the best pizza you will find 2000km from Kathmandu. Great atmosphere, amazing toppings, and the crust is thin, firm, and droopy when it needs to be. It is almost like Annapurna herself has blessed this pizzaria. This is the spot I go to after a long weeks work in the Himalayas because it feels like home.

Hadn't been here in 35 years. Bright and clean ambience; a sense of happiness in the air. Very attentive, polite, and helpful staff. The pizza menu was diverse and the outcome was tasty. The pizza was wetter than ideal (for my taste); and issue I have experienced with Road House, as well. Nepal really needs to add ginger beer (not just ginger ale) to the menu; this would be a game changer to any pizza joint and restaurant. The Italian salad was very fresh and tasty. The potato chips were so-so.

One of the best Italian restaurants in Nepal ! I was pleasantly surprised by the crust and dough of the pizza (authentic and light). The pizzas were excellent, while the vegetarian lasagna was just okay. The atmosphere doesn’t feel like you are in Nepal, although it was a bit noisy for my taste. Prices are a little high by Nepal standards, but the quality makes it worth it. A great spot for Italian food in Kathmandu
