Nanda Devi Mandir is a revered pilgrimage site in Almora, attracting devotees from around the world. The temple complex, nestled within the bustling Almora Bazar, offers a serene and tranquil environment despite its lively surroundings. Dedicated to Maa Durga, Saraswati, and Maa Kali, this ancient temple also houses old Shiv temples. Visitors can experience a sense of calm amidst the market's hustle and bustle.
Maa Nanda Devi Temple in Almora is a beautiful and spiritually uplifting place. The temple holds immense cultural and religious significance, especially during the Nanda Devi fair, which is a grand celebration. The architecture is traditional and adds to the charm of the temple. Located in the heart of Almora, it's easy to reach and offers a peaceful space for worship and reflection. The views from the temple premises are stunning, and the overall ambiance is calm and welcoming. A must-visit for anyone seeking spiritual solace and a glimpse into the rich heritage of the region.

I got to experience the Aarti with dholak and baja at 7pm. The temple is surreal with aipan art all around. Reaching here is possible only by road. Parking is arranged before the market. Due to being situated on the hill, the road routes are quite limited. Jai maa nanda devi Nanda Devi Temple is the most important temple of the region. Mata Nanda Devi is the patron goddess here of the common people and to the rulers of the earlier times. The temple of Nanda Devi is very old, attractive and the major attraction of the town of Almora. The sculptures here are extravagant and the view is breathtaking.
Vandana N — Google review
Nanda Devi Temple is a truly peaceful and divine place. The atmosphere is calm, and you can feel positive energy all around. The temple architecture is beautiful, and the surroundings are clean and well-maintained. Visiting here gives a deep sense of spiritual connection and peace. A must-visit place for anyone coming to this area. 🙏

I don't know how many people know about this place and how often people add this temple to their itinerary while visiting Kasar. But if you are someone planning to visit Kasar Devi please do not miss this place. It's a beautiful experience to be here and get the blessings of Maa Nanda Devi. You can park your vehicle on the roads and ask any local for the way, since you cannot take vehicles near the temple. There is no entry ticket.

Nanda Devi Temple is one of the important temples in the region due to its cultural and religious significance. Located near the main Almora market, it attracts many visitors and pilgrims. The temple is dedicated to the goddess Nanda Devi, believed to be a protector of the area.

Nanda Devi Temple is a famous temple located in the center of Almora, which is famous for the worship of Mother Nanda i.e. Parvati and Shiva. This temple was built by the rulers of the Chand dynasty. The Shikhara structure is different from Nagara style and stones have been used in the entire structure. Apart from mythological stories, erotic images have also been engraved on the outer surfaces of this temple, which seems inspired by the temples of Khajuraho. Every year a fair is organized here, which makes the atmosphere devotional. Reaching here is possible only by road. Parking is arranged before the market. Due to being situated on the hill, the road routes are quite limited.
Rizwan U — Google review
A beautiful temple of Maa Nanda Sunanda with beautiful surroundings. This temple is believed to be almost 1,000 years old and was dedicated to Goddess Nanda by the kings of the Chand dynasty. Situated in the premises of a Shiva temple, the Nanda Devi Temple features a magnificent monument decorated with a stone amalaka or crown.

The Govind Ballabh Pant Museum, situated on the mall road in Almora, pays tribute to the legacy of Govind Ballabh Pant, a prominent freedom fighter. The museum is a treasure trove for those interested in Kumaoni culture, showcasing a remarkable assortment of ancient Kumaoni paintings known as Aipan and an array of antiques from the Katyuri and Chand dynasties.
This museum was earlier the ancestral residence of Govind Vallabh Pant. At present, the cultural heritage of Kumaon can be seen in this museum. There are also some ancient statues excavated in Almora. Here you will also get to see glimpses related to the life of Govind Vallabh Pant. There are no tickets to the museum. And the museum is situated on Main Road. Travelers interested in Kumaoni culture and history must visit once.

Museum is on road side,so very easy access. Good for students visit. Some old things related to our past are there. Kumauni apan are center of attraction. If someone is interested in achitecture and heritage side seeing, then it's a right place.

Sheltering some of the legacies of the Katyuri and Chand dynasties, the museum on Mall Road also has beautiful collections of folk style painting known as Aspen and Kumaoni antiquities.
Anshul G — Google review
It is a good place. I'm happy that such a museum exists in the first place. I visited it. The problem is that it is in great need of renovation and promotion. Definitely a great start but there is great scope for expansion because Kumaon has a lot of heritage. Online presence and advertisement inviting local people to donate antique Kumaoni artifacts could be a great initiative! As of yet the place is somewhat smaller and the collection is lesser than it should be! But the staff were good and they've tried their best to make it worth the visit. Entry is free so drop in!

Perched at the highest point of Almora bazaar, Almora Fort offers a stunning 360-degree view of the town and its surrounding mountains. Once belonging to the Chand Dynasty, this fort has been repurposed as the District Collectors Office. Also known as Malla Mahal, it served as the seat of Almora's king until British rule. Nice option for Lunch/ dinner or to have a quick snack. You get a wide range of dishes on the menu here. The taste is good but affordability is moderate for the local public and visitors.

Very bad experience, packed shai-panner with tandoori roti and tawa roti... Shai paneer was without salt and too much oil, and tandoori roti was made of maida (that too not cooked properly)... Complete waste and have to throw it... Either cook is changed or owner has no interest left.. what a sad state of restaurant...

Very very bad experience. Ordered kali mirch chicken and they served "totally kali mirch " with full kasturi methi or something like that, whole mood get spoiled & left dinner in between and then moved to another restaurant near there (Joshi ju restaurant) to have dinner complete. Worst experience with Glory. Though I myself resident of Almora but now Glory had only it's name no good food. Not against glory but it hurts as once it was my favourite restaurant.

If you're ever in Almora, Uttarakhand, I highly recommend visiting this , I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience. The food was excellent, reasonably priced, and portions were generous. The staff exhibited great behavior, making the overall atmosphere enjoyable.

My husband and I ate here last night. We ordered half plate mutton , half plate chicken curry and shami kebabs. Shami kebabs were fried like pakoras. Mutton and chicken dishes had the same gravy. None of the dishes were delicious or even averagely tasty. The only decent things were the chutney and fresh tawa rotis. Worth giving a miss as there are far better nonveg places in Almora.

Not a clean place. Table, plates, glasses had stains and dust and left over food particles. Service was sad, had to explain order of "Thali" 3 times! Even for water had to ask for 4-5 times. Food - Roti was half cooked. Rice was uncooked, mixture of white, off-white,brown and black things. The owner lady is nice, polite and helpful, but they are majorly under staffed. All in all though the rates are reasonable, location is convenient, the place is best avoided.

quality of the room was just average, nothing to say more as compared to price of that hotel. But, the main thing is that the FOOD quality was very very poor(worse-est) quality, they serve in a very dirty dishes/plates, we cant even finish that food served as the quality was just vogues.another thing is that we order one type of item but they serve another type i.e we orderd matar paneer but they serve panner curry.very pathetic in terms of fooding department of that hotel.(dear owner-please try to improve the fooding section of that hotel.)
