Guruvayur

Guruvayur is a pilgrimage town in the southwest Indian state of Kerala. It’s known for centuries-old, red-roofed Guruvayur Temple, where Hindu devotees make offerings of fruit, spices or coins, often equivalent to their own weight. Nearby, Mammiyur Mahadeva Temple contains shrines to the deities Vishnu and Shiva. South of town, St. Thomas Church is believed to have been established by the apostle St. Thomas in 52 AD.

Vegetarian restaurant
Located near Kandanassery Police Station on Paris Road in Chowallurpady, Nandini Vegetarian Restaurant is a popular eatery in Guruvayur, India. Serving delectable North Indian dishes, this restaurant has received positive reviews from customers. With a variety of options available, including meals with boiled and white rice starting from noon, patrons can enjoy flavorful rice with sambhar and Rasam.
I had the chance to try both breakfast and lunch here, and both meals were genuinely satisfying. The flavors were on point, portion sizes were just right, and the pricing felt fair given the location. A thoughtful detail I appreciated was that they serve hot water for drinking—something health-conscious diners will definitely value.

🥦🥦🥕🫚🥭🌈🍍🌻🙏Nandini Vegetarian Restaurant, located at East Nada, Guruvayur, offers a decent dining experience for a rural area establishment. Despite arriving during the restaurant's last hours, the service team was fast and attentive, striving to meet the needs of all patrons.🥦🥦🥕🫚🥭🌈🍍🌻🙏 We tried a variety of dishes: Plain Dosa: Well-prepared and satisfying. Poori: Puffy but a bit oily. Chapathi: A bit hard in texture. Ghee Roast: Nicely done with a good amount of ghee and maintained shape. Overall, it's an okay option for those seeking vegetarian food near the temple.🥦🥦🥕🫚🥭🌈🍍🌻🙏🍊🥭

One of the worst hotel in terms of cleanliness and food. There were cockroaches. Bathroom and wash area was unhygienic. Don't know how come such a unclean hotel is running near a temple. Food quality cannot be justified for the amount charged.

Tried lunch at this veg restaurant in East Nada of Guruvayur Sri Krishna Temple. The meal was served in a traditional vazhayila, which was a nice touch, but overall it was just average. For ₹120, it didn’t feel like good value for money. The service was okay, but nothing exceptional.

Nandini Veg Restaurant is on Main Road while going to Temple. Good spacious restaurant with attentive staff. In the evening they had only Dosa and Puri Bhanu. So we had Ghee Roast Dosa. It was tasty. Umashankar took care of us. He is polite and courteous. The only issue is that fewer fans. No Ac

Nandini Veg Restaurant, situated on the Eastern side of the temple, offers a good vegetarian dining experience. We had a meal comprising rice, sambar, pickle, upperi, avial, masala curry, curd, pappadam, and a delectable payasam. The option between "ponni" and "matta" rice added a nice touch, allowing for personalized preferences. Overall, the food was satisfying.. While some staff members exhibited excellent service and hospitality, others seemed a bit careless. This could be improved to ensure a consistent dining experience for all patrons. One downside was the lack of parking space, which could pose a challenge for visitors. It's unclear if they have designated parking, but it's something to consider when planning a visit....

Took 15 min to serve just a Tea. Ok taste, bit strong.

A pure vegetarian spot tucked away in the streets near Guruvayur Temple, making it a convenient choice for devotees and visitors. The staff here are polite and attentive, and the service is quick enough to keep you from waiting too long, even during busy hours. I’ve tried both breakfast and lunch, and both were satisfying — the taste was good, portions were adequate, and pricing was quite decent for the location. They also serve hot water for drinking, which is a thoughtful touch, especially for those who prefer it for health reasons. Cleanliness is clearly a priority — the dining space was neat, and they maintain clean toilet facilities, which is a big plus when traveling with family. Overall, it’s a reliable choice for a wholesome vegetarian meal in Guruvayur without burning a hole in your pocket.

Vegetarian restaurant
Saravana Bhavan is a well-established international restaurant chain renowned for its South Indian vegetarian cuisine, especially dosas. Located in East Nada, it's a budget-friendly eatery offering aromatic spices and an authentic vegetarian experience. Whether you're craving piping hot idlis, crispy dosas, uttapam, or flavorful sambhar, this famous food chain provides a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy these traditional dishes.
Food Quality was above average.. Ambiance was not that good.. It was really very difficult to find the seat (Understadable).. Servie can be made bit more professional.. Hospitality point of view, it was not upto the mark.. Especially the person who handling the cash.

As I had not tasted the food this time I can not review the same, because the behaviour of the staff was sufficient enough for me to just leave.. we went to have breakfast and we were near a table which was not clean.. so I asked the cleaning staff who had just cleaned the table near me, he acted as if he didn't hear me and tried to go past me, I again asked them but they didn't give a heed to my requests and left, then I asked another staff he also acted as if he is deaf. I went to complain at the billing counter and there were two ladies who on listening to my complaints just made faces, giving odd expression and laughing.. Been to so many Eateries but this was the worst one can go. . Not at all clean.. filthy.. Rude staff to top it all

Visited this hotel near Guruvayoor and tried their Poori Masala, Vada, and tea. The food—Poori masala and vada—was just okay, nothing special. Unfortunately, the tea was really disappointing and didn’t taste good at all. The cleanliness of the place was decent, but nothing to write home about. One major issue was parking; it was difficult to find a spot because taxis were constantly parked right in front of the hotel, making it inconvenient for guests. Overall, would say it’s average—might work if you need a quick bite, but don’t expect anything great, especially with the tea and parking situation.
Girish K — Google review
Average vegetarian hotel near guruvayoor east Nada. Customer service is not bad but the quality of food is just average, and cleanliness is not up to top notch. During our visit there is no water in the hand wash area this will be a little disappointing.
Johnson K — Google review
Worst experience, no manners, misleading with duplication of Saravana bhavan. Food quality terrible. Using artificial colors which legally banned. No quality at all.
Sreenath G — Google review
Visited there on September, they have a huge price difference in their Ac section and other section. Different menu with very huge price difference is given. Felt overpriced. Service and cleanliness is good on the Ac section. When it comes to the cleanliness, service and everything to the normal section. There is a drastic change. Staffs having two different manner to people in their Ac and non Ac sections
Krishnendu M — Google review
The potato masala component of the masala dosa is being prepared with MAIDA. If you care even a little bit about your health, then definitely not. I would advise against visiting this restaurant, after the blessings from Guruvayoorappan.

Good restaurant in guruvayur near guruvayur temple. They keep the place hygene and neat. Staffs behaves so nice are also helpful to customers. We had masala dosa and ghee roast with coffee. Not bad really comparing to other hotels nearby. Vast parking space available. This restaurant is a part of elite hotel building. Good interior and there is a facility to conduct small programs in the restaurant with small stage.

We traveled all the way from Mumbai .Once we had a seat at the restaurant, a banana leaf was put at our table without being asked what was needed. We (myslef along with my mom) assumed it was Sadya. The guy randomly started putting the condiments to which we asked if mangacurry(mango pickle) will be served or not and then, the staff behaved super rudely stating mango curry is only for sadya and you are being served MEALS. We never requested for MEALS in the first place and they assumed so.. This spoiled the whole experience of sadya(which was not served anyway) Food was not top notch as well.. Sambhar and pineapple pachadi was better compared to other dishes, parippu being a nightmare.

I was a regular visitor in this restaurant when i used to visit Guruvayur. At that time the food was delicious and the staffs were too good. Best place for lunch meals in Guruvayoor for more than 10 years. Can't vouch for dosa as some years this place was good, but some other years bad.

Better restaurant near guruvayoor than others . Basically it's part of elite hotel
Sujisha K — Google review
THE WORST RESTAURANT IN GURUVAYOOR IS THE SURABHI RESTURANT OF ELITE. YEARS BACK IT WAS GOOD. TODAY I HAVE VISTED THERE AND THE FOOD WAS HORRIBLE. 1) CHAPPATTI/ KURUMA ORDERED. CHAPPATTI IS COLD LIKE ANYTHING. SEEMS TO BE MADE IN THE MORNING AND SERVED AT NIGHT.ITS JUST LIKE A PAPER. 2) COFFE HAS GOT A SOUR TASTE, WAS THERE. 3 ) Unhygienic CONDITION with lots of HOUSE FLIES. WHEN I TOLD ALL THESE TO THE MANAGER, HE STOOD INFRONT OF ME LIKE A CRIMINAL. DON'T GO THERE. WORST AND WASTE
Jayakumar M — Google review
Food is good and tasty. But slightly over priced. Needs to improve the hygiene part. Last year when I visited saw a rat running under the table. This time when we went, hygiene improved a lot. Still needs some more improvement, especially in the wash area. Food quality and quantity is good.

Ok ok kind of place. We went for dinner around 8 and only available option was masala dosa and ghee roast. Taste was ok but the service can be improved. Made me run around several times for card payment!

Indian restaurant
Indian Coffee House, a branch of the renowned Kerala-based coffee chain, is known for its delectable dishes available at reasonable prices. This establishment specializes in aromatic coffee and traditional South Indian cuisine, but also offers an array of other delightful options on their menu that exude a homely essence. Each dish prepared here possesses an authentic touch that will undoubtedly entice you to revisit this eatery repeatedly.
Good hotel. 🌟 The food served is tasty, and the quantity is sufficient 🍽️. The staff are polite and calm 😊. Food is usually served in less than 10 minutes ⏱️ after ordering. There are enough tables 🪑 to sit and dine. Even though it is a small hotel, the food tastes very good 👍🏻. Washrooms 🚻 are available, but parking 🅿️ space is a bit difficult.

Tried Cutlet. Really wonderful. Must try. Great Quality.
Aneesh P — Google review
Food is nice. Service is not too quick. Its not the preperation or the serving that takes time. Its the time taken to get the attention of staff to come to our table. I dont think there is a down time at this place. Always crowded. Very near the temple and a good place for a break. Do tey out their cutlet. This branch of ICH is pure Veg..
Vipin V — Google review
The word pathetic doesn't even do justice to the kind of services they provide here. It is that BAD! We went to have a simple lunch here as Indian Coffee House generally is a popular eating point, we were served a bland, substandrd meal in the name of a South Indian meal. Can you imagine Sambar without the most important ingredient vegetables in it? That is what they served! The waiters/ serving staff also looked bored and not interested in customer service. I would not recommend this place to anyone visiting the Guruvayur Temple.

Apart from average tasting food. The staffs were extremely rude for no reason. Surprised and disappointed by such unprofessional behaviour tbh.

The food was ok, but not exceptional. The property has a old feeling, in need of some maintenance. On a Monday afternoon, we were the customers. The Biryani we ordered was ok, quantity was good. Pricing decent, and preferred for non-veg options. They also have a poolside bar. Plenty of parking available.

I had the Sadhya food and what an awesome experience. You name it and the flavour was there on my plate. All items were cooked perfectly. 16 to 18 items, two different payasam were icing on the cake just too good. Only thing I was disappointed was they refused to carry me out straight to a comfortable place... Was too full to move from my seat. But they offered me a better solution, gave me a glass of mouru to drink, it just settled/balanced my tummy. Just Awesome

It's located inside the Sopanam hotel. I walked there expecting pool side seating for food, but pool side seating is for bar customers only. Serving decent food.
Jaseem M — Google review
Not happy with the service here. We went for dinner and were asked to wait for 45 mins for a simple dinner order. Apparently the kitchen is shared with it's bar and hence their priorities seemed clear on the service foe the simple veg dinner at the restaurant
Kushal K — Google review
It's situated inside the Sopanam Hotel. I went there hoping for poolside seating while dining, but it turns out that's reserved for bar patrons only. The food is decent, though.
