Specialty Museums
The Toyota Kaikan Museum offers a fascinating look into the world of manufacturing and hybrid technology, featuring interactive displays and exhibitions showcasing the company's eco-friendly approach, safety innovations, production processes, and future technologies. Visitors can explore a collection of rally cars and experience a safety simulator. Located in the town of Toyota next to the company's headquarters, this museum also presents rotating exhibitions of Toyota's latest vehicles, concept models, and prototypes.
Great place to view and sit in the current line-up of Toyota and Lexus vehicles. While not exactly a museum (which I would recommend to visit the Toyota Automobile Museum or the Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology instead), it still has an area of seasonal special exhibits. There were interesting vehicles displayed when I visited, such as the Crown, GR Yaris, GR Corolla, Land Cruisers and even the LM500h! There is gift shop on the second floor which sells a wide variety of goods, and you can even find some souvenirs from the other Toyota museums as well. Worth a pop by if you are around the area! Visited in November 2024.
Paul C — Google review
The museum itself is nothing special. However, you can't complain, as admission is free and you get a glimpse into Toyota's production process. If you're a car enthusiast, or even Toyota enthusiast, a visit might be worthwhile.
Joris G — Google review
I spent a night in Nagoya specifically to visit the Toyota Kaikan Museum and soak in the full Toyota brand experience. The future exhibit, virtual factory tour, and showroom—featuring models from Toyota, Gazoo Racing, Crown, Lexus, and even the Century—were all highlights. I had hoped to see every current production model, though some areas appeared to be under renovation. My only suggestion for improvement would be to expand the gift shop selection—it felt a bit sparse. Overall, it was a rewarding visit. Toyota for life.
Desmond L — Google review
If you're a petrolhead and you like Toyotas, this place is well worth a visit. Parking and admission costs nothing. And there's no need to make an appointment. There's one big hall that displays the comprehensive range of passenger vehicles currently produced by Toyota in Japan. And the best part is, visitors can explore the interior of almost all the vehicles. So you could sit in a humble Yaris, and sample the luxurious interior of the Lexus LM. If you want to try something that moves, you can register to ride Toyota's personal mobility solution known as the C+Walk. And if you want a glimpse into Toyota's vision for future transport, there are a few funky looking concept vehicles too. Wifey tagged along on this visit. She isn't a petrolhead, and she's definitely not a fan of any particular car brand. But I could tell she wasn't bored out of her mind here.
Jpm — Google review
Free and interesting. If you're close, come do a quick visite.

It's good to know about the history of the company and when it started, good explanations and demonstrations by the staff.

It’s not that I enjoy going to museums. But I didn’t get to go one when I was a kid and whenever I see these children with their parents in every museum, I feel happy for them and kinda feel sad for myself at the same. Maybe I would have enjoyed more going to museums like this if I went here a little younger. But cheers tho! Cheers to life ✨

Toyota Stadium, designed by Kurokawa Kisho to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Toyota City, is a stunning architectural marvel. The stadium's retractable roof and impressive design make it a perfect venue for thrilling soccer matches and lively concerts. It also features local food stalls offering delicious snacks. Additionally, the facility includes a sports gym with a swimming pool equipped with flumes, sauna, and a lazy river for kids to enjoy.
Visited the Toyota Stadium for the WRC Rally Japan 2024 Special Super Stage event. The atmosphere for the weekend was fantastic! The event was well-organised and there were ushers guiding and controlling the crowds well. There were clear signages around the stadium for the event too. Most importantly, the stage set-up and light shows were simply splendid! I had a great time watching the SSS and the view from all sides of the stadium was great. This is one of the best mass crowd events I have been to too! Do note to bring along a good jacket as it can be very cold at night during November! Visited in November 2024.

Park
Kuragaike Park is a delightful escape nestled within the Aichi-Kogen Quasi-National Park, offering an expansive green space perfect for family outings. With its charming small zoo, beautifully landscaped gardens, and a serene boating lake, this park is designed for relaxation and recreation. Visitors can enjoy leisurely picnics under the shade of cherry blossom trees—around 1,500 of them bloom spectacularly in spring—making it an ideal spot for sakura viewing.
Went to the upper side, which is just beside the large park with a large shed, where people were relaxing, having picnics, and others were playing with their kids. Though not quite in full bloom, there are still some cherry blossoms. Had fun taking photos and videos.

This is such a nice park in Toyota city! Forest Adventure ropes course and zip line (only ¥2800), lake, indoor playground for kids under 12, Starbucks, free Toyota museum, petting zoo. Plenty of parking (some free, some paid). Definitely worth spending a few hours here with the family!

Sanshu Asuke Yashiki is a living open-air museum located in the picturesque Korankei Valley, offering a glimpse into traditional Japanese handicrafts and rural life from the Meiji Period. The museum features thatched farmhouses, livestock, and crops, where local artisans demonstrate traditional crafts like paper umbrella making, bamboo handicrafts, and weaving. Visitors can interact with the artisans as they create these timeless pieces.
Fantastic living museum. Artisans on site crafting everything from footwear to wooden baskets. Only some of the signs had English translations, but we used Google translate and that worked well. Staff have limited English but are very friendly and helpful. Signs state to ask permission before taking photos. Souvenirs crafted on site for sale. We all had a great time.

Great place to visit while in the area viewing the fall leaves. Before the pandemic the little village square area transforms into a little fair grounds with beer and sake stands, yatai and sweets for sale as well as the living museum buildings and exhibits. The cool night air along with the celebration like atmosphere is really nice.

Thai restaurant
The staff at Thanisara Thai restaurant is extremely polite, the food presentation is splendid, and the overall dining experience is delightful. The limited space within the restaurant doesn't negatively impact the ambiance, as the delicious food makes up for it. Being close to the train station allows for convenient accessibility. It's worth mentioning that there may be a blend of genuine Thai cuisine with some Japanese influence, which could be explored further by contemplating it while enjoying a meal here.
Highly courteous staff, wonderful presentation of the food and and an overall pleasant experience. The space was not very much within the restaurant which didn't hurt the ambience much, but the food compensated nicely for it. Proximity to the train station helps with easy access. Whether the food was authentic Thai or whether there was a Japanese influence, to be thought about. Thinking while having a meal here would be the best way to find it out😅.

Japanese restaurant
Nestled in the heart of culinary delights, Manmaru is a must-visit restaurant that specializes in the exquisite flavors of mountain yam and eel sourced from Mikawa Isshiki. The aroma of charcoal-grilled eel, enhanced by Manmaru's signature sauce, is simply irresistible. Diners rave about the perfectly cooked mountain yams served with a special dashi stock, making it an ideal choice for those seeking authentic Japanese cuisine.
(Translated by Google) Forgetting that there was a Grampus game at Toyota Stadium, I went to Nokonoko Toyota to eat and got stuck in a huge traffic jam. As I veered off to a side street and wandered back and forth, I noticed the words ``live eel purchased from Sansuitei'' on the electronic bulletin board, and entered the shop like an insect attracted by a moth lamp. When you enter the store, you will see a school of live eels swimming in the aquarium. This is proof that the belly has been cut open, skewered, and grilled. As soon as I sat down, I ordered the eel bowl without hesitation. ◆Eel bowl (special) with head, 6 pieces, liver soup, pickled vegetables, etc. ¥3,480 When you order, you will be asked how you want it cooked. Is it well grilled or omakase (which seems to be the standard)? Since it is live eel from Isshiki in Mikawa, it is well-grilled with crispy skin and plump meat. After all, it was split, skewered, and grilled on the ground, so it took about 20 minutes to prepare the bowl. Of course. Waiting is part of the taste. The sauce uses Kokonoe mirin, and has a smooth, elegant sweet and spicy taste that is not too spicy. Even when well-cooked, the skin is not very crispy, but the firmness of the Yumepirika makes up for it. Even though they say free rice refills, unless you're a big eater, I think the balance with the eel is just right without refills. I would like to try the wild yam, also known as mountain eel, and beef tongue next time. It's a reasonable price and taste. The menu is extensive.

(Translated by Google) I ordered the lunch set, but the rice for the eel bowl was definitely microwaved. The bowl was extremely hot, and the temperature of the rice was uneven. I'm not sure if they were using cold rice or if it was other customers' leftover rice, but if they were going to microwave it, they should have done something in a way that wouldn't be noticed, and microwaving the whole bowl was out of the question. I also ordered a salad with eel, but it hadn't been drained properly, so the eel was mushy and awful. It was really bad. The eel was also incredibly crispy, making me wonder if it had been reheated. The mochi buns (rice cakes) for dessert were also rock hard. The quality was so bad I wondered if they had just served leftover souvenirs. It was really disappointing to spend 2,000-3,000 yen per person at lunchtime and get this kind of quality. McDonald's is a renowned and enduring fast-food establishment recognized for its hamburgers and French fries. The staff members providing customer service are pleasant and amiable. They offer an assortment of burgers that change periodically in Japan, which customers appreciate. The quality of the core menu items matches that of the United States, but with exceptional preparation and service. (Translated by Google) It has the feel of a traditional udon restaurant, and seems to be popular with a wide range of people, from the elderly to young people. It was delicious with soft noodles and clear soup. You can make large portions of udon, so I was able to eat my fill of udon. Many other people ordered miso stew with rice. Is the soup stock based on dried sardines? It's delicious for this region, but it's better than the udon restaurants in western Japan...I'd give it a 4 star if it's in the prefecture, or a 3 star if I compare it to other places. In addition, it seems that you can use the parking lot in the tenant common parking lot behind the store.

(Translated by Google) I had plans to come here, so I searched for places to eat lunch and found this place. I realized it was a popular restaurant as there was a line even before it opened. Listening to customers' orders, it seems that the most popular dish is the Kakiage Zaru Udon. I had my eye on the Miso Niku Udon from the start, so I ordered that. The price was reasonable and it was delicious👍️ One thing I noticed was that I lined up before it opened, but because it has a strong local feel, it was noticeable that people who knew each other were cutting in line! Maybe first-time customers from the countryside should be careful!

Deluxe miso stewed udon 1100 yen is too cheap. Thank you for your delicious meal. (Original)

(Translated by Google) I've been to this restaurant several times because the slightly thinner udon noodles and soup stock are delicious, but it's a popular restaurant that I often end up giving up on because there's always a line before it opens. It's really delicious, but if you sit at the counter, you'll notice how dirty the kitchen is. I'm always keenly aware that restaurants with clean kitchens taste better, but this restaurant is an exception and I can't hide my confusion because the food is delicious even though it's dirty.

(Translated by Google) It's delicious♪ The noodles are a little thin and soft. The soup stock is so rich that the flavor of this time's tamagoji is as if you're eating chawan mushi, and you can't stop using your chopsticks (^^) I ordered the tempura platter separately, and this one had a novel texture that resembled crispy rice crackers. There is no parking lot, so please use the nearest one. Even though the store is busy with customers waiting from the moment it opens, I am impressed by the staff's sincere response.

(Translated by Google) This restaurant serves exquisite udon noodles in a refined broth. Their miso stew and hot pot dishes are both reasonably priced and delicious. Their tempura is also excellent, with both the ingredients and the batter being excellent.

Italian restaurant
Restaurant
Louisiana Mama is a restaurant with American-themed decor that serves Italian cuisine. Their menu mainly consists of typical Japanese Italian dishes such as pasta and pizza. Additionally, they offer a buffet-style selection of side dishes which are enjoyable. The desserts at Louisiana Mama are particularly delicious, and the staff bring a variety of options to your table for you to choose from. Overall, it provides a great dining experience. They also have course menus available as well as a salad buffet featuring fresh giant crab and gelato.
All you can eat appetizers are just great... Some of them very similar to traditional Italian food which is difficult to find in Japan... I've been many times and it's been always very good and tasty

The pizza was one of the best I've had in Japan, the cake set is really interesting since you can choose 3 different kind of dessert plus many different kind of juices.

Very delicious. They have course menu, salad buffet with fresh giant crab, and gelato. But, I would decrease 1 star because in the restaurant back parking lot have a deep pothole that make me fall from bicycle. (also small car could be suffer)
