Wat Rong Khun, also known as the White Temple, is a contemporary Buddhist temple located in Chiang Rai, Thailand. Designed by artist Chalermchai Kositpipat, it features a unique white exterior with intricate designs and unconventional architecture. Inside, visitors can explore unusual murals and decorations along with odd sculptures. The temple aims to provide a space for learning and meditation to promote the teachings of Buddhism.
The White Temple (Wat Rong Khun) in Chiang Rai is one of Thailand’s most surreal sights — pure white, shimmering with mirrored glass under the sun. The details feel almost otherworldly, blending Buddhist symbolism with modern art. Photos are allowed outside but not inside, where the murals surprise you with unexpected imagery. Visit early morning to avoid glare and crowds. It’s both art and reflection in one unforgettable stop.

Absolutely stunning place! The White Temple is unlike anything I’ve ever seen — so detailed and creative. The mix of traditional and modern art makes it really unique. It can get busy, but it’s totally worth visiting. A must-see when you’re in Chiang Rai.
Marco T — Google review
The famous white temple was crafted intricately, and the facade structures were meticulously designed and built. The founder-cum-artist, Charlermcha Kositpipat, has a modern way of preaching the Buddhist teachings. It amazes me how one could have such a creative mind, effort and energy to craft and build such a majestic temple. Entrance is chargeable to foreigners only. Local Thai gets to enjoy free entry.

View @ Wat Rong Khun / White Temple. . Remarkable for its dazzling white design, a symbol of purity and wisdom, the temple was designed and self-funded by artist Chalermchai Kositpipat since 1997. . Crossing the Bridge Of The Cycle Of Rebirth, beneath which hundreds of sculptured outstretched hands of desire and suffering, is a depiction of overcoming temptation to reach enlightenment. . The juxtaposition of the Golden Toilet is meant to represent purity transcending wealth.

This temple is definitely a work of art. Very detailed. For 100 baht this is a great value. I guarantee you will have so many beautiful photos. 100% worth it. It is really popular so you can expect it to be crowded.
Filip — Google review
The temple is simply mind-blowing. You could spend hours examining every detail—it's truly breathtaking and left us speechless. Probably the most original and unique temple in Thailand. If there’s one downside, it’s that it’s always packed with tourists, so it isn’t easy to appreciate the details up close, especially on the entrance bridge.
Azahara D — Google review
The White Temple in Chiang Rai is one of the most beautiful places I’ve seen. I really loved the bright white colour, it looks so clean and striking, especially when the sun hits it. The details of the design are incredible. You can really see the effort and creativity that went into building it. Such an amazing place to visit if you love art, culture, and architecture.
Arvin O — Google review
Very detailed Temple with some great features. 100TBH entry per person. Plenty of other things to look at on the grounds which are free. Recommend once you've entered the main Temple to turn around and look at the walls behind the doors. Some very odd characters being displayed.

Museums
Baan Dam Museum, also known as the Black House, is a unique collection of wood buildings showcasing the artworks of Thawan Duchanee and other contemporary Thai artists. Situated in Chiang Rai, it is part of a day tour that includes visits to prominent temples such as the White Temple (Wat Rong Khun) and the Blue Temple (Wat Rong Sueur Ten). The museum offers an intriguing experience with its dark-themed architecture and displays.
Great place for people looking for something different! I first came here ten plus years ago and the artist's work made a deep impression on me. His paintings exude strong strokes, and seeing paintings was worth the trip alone. Original paintings can be seen in the galleries next to the parking lot. The main structure on the museum grounds contains prints. One thing that stands out is the artist's prolific collection of things. Some interesting buildings on the grounds, one of which is reminiscent of a traditional house in Sulawesi (also some statues that looked Balinese in origin). Everything is visually engaging, definitely not a typical Thai attraction. There are artisans in the back building wood working, which was great to see as well. One staff said before COVID the museum would receive two to three thousand guests per day, but now visitors number around 500 per day. There are plenty of tourists here but it doesn't feel overcrowded. Well worth the visit.
Brian J — Google review
Another must do. Very unique contemporary art museum. This place will keep you entertained and interested for quite a while, there are lots of very unique and different displays both housed in indoor and outdoor areas over quite a large complex. Lots to see and quite memorable.
Jason ( — Google review
I like Thai traditional painting and wood carving art. So this place is amazing for me. Peace but deliver to strong message about real life and greedy in human spirit. Love this place.
Tanadchai A — Google review
The Black House (Baan Dam Museum) in Chiang Rai is haunting and unforgettable — a mix of art, philosophy, and raw symbolism. Created by national artist Thawan Duchanee over 30 years, the complex features more than 40 black teak buildings filled with animal bones, horns, and surreal sculptures. Each structure reflects themes of life, death, and rebirth drawn from Buddhist and animist beliefs. It’s not a temple but an artist’s dark reflection on human nature. Come early for a quieter visit — the stillness makes it even more powerful.
Noel M — Google review
Not particularly my cup of tea but might prove fascinating to some. Not really a museum as much as an art gallery/instillation. Quirky enough to be worth a quick stop for 80 bhat and a large garden with many extra small buildings to walk around and into too. Our favourite part was banging on the very large gong and TomTom drum ;)
Gillian H — Google review
It was an interesting museum — more of a walkthrough with random dead animals and art throughout the space. It’s a large piece of land so there’s definitely a lot to look at! There’s also a homeless cat shelter with all the cats - adorable 🐱 There were three cows in the middle of the museum which was interesting. Definitely a different vibe than the usual Buddha temples around, a little creepy but iNtErEsTiNg 🤨
Sarah P — Google review
Baan Dam Museum aka Black Museum was created by Thai artist Thawan Duchanee. It is basically a private art museum/gallery made up of around 40 various sizes and designes buildings almost are of them are painted in black. Building materials are dark wood, terracotta, glass, black coloured brick etc. The inside displays are mostly made of animal bones, animal structures, animal skins and horns etc. Sometimes it gives a very eery feel. Entrance fee is 80 Thai Baht per person.

The Chiang Rai Clock Tower is a stunning architectural masterpiece located in the heart of a traffic circle. Designed by renowned artist and architect Chalermchai Kositpipat, it bears resemblance to the iconic White Temple with its distinctive style. At night, the tower comes alive with colorful lights, creating a surreal environment.
It’s a golden clock that has a light show every hour on the hour starting at 8pm. No tickets, it’s just in the middle of the street. The birds make the experience more dramatic. They are like paid actors moving to the rhythm. However, it’s nothing crazy and can be missed if no time.
Rasha M — Google review
Best time to view the light show is 8pm, where it is dark enough. It runs for approximately 10-15 minutes. Only thing that ruins it is the constant flow of traffic on the round about. But still worth viewing.
Shane H — Google review
The Chiang Rai Clock Tower is one of the city’s most photogenic landmarks, designed by the same artist behind the White Temple. Its golden structure gleams by day, but the real highlight is the evening light show, when it glows in shifting colors set to gentle music (around 7, 8, and 9 p.m.). Located in the city center, it’s easy to stop by after dinner or while exploring nearby cafés. A short but memorable sight that perfectly captures Chiang Rai’s artistic flair.
Noel M — Google review
The clock tower was beautiful and I visited during the light show which goes on twice a night. It was pretty, but not what I was expecting. There is a song that plays and the tower changes colors. If you are already at the Chiang Rai Night Bazaar, you could walk the couple of minutes to check it out.
Korah K — Google review
Located at the cross road of the town. Very nice. Must wait for the clock to chime at the hour. The lights changes colours.

beautiful and have bars, good restaurant around. it have sound when time changes like 8 o’clock and it plays music, the lights change but a lot of birds and kinda smell bird poop
Papassarin R — Google review
Amazing experience at night time. The birds are all flying around the clock and on the electric cables. Do not miss this place at night time! Every hours the clock goes off makes a noise and changes colours which is a really good show!
Bedri — Google review
During one of the tour we took, the tour guide ( Poppy) from the Black Dragon Tours told us about the colour of the clock changes at 7pm then 1 hour between. It was free. The clock tower is walking distance from our hotel ( Sann hotel)

Night market

Flea & Street Markets
Chiang Rai Night Bazaar is a bustling and compact night market that offers a variety of experiences. Visitors can explore street food stalls, shop for apparel, jewelry, and gifts, and enjoy live entertainment. The market is located near the ancient temple in Mueang Chiang Rai district, which holds historical significance in the province. It features the prominent Emerald Buddha and other magnificent Buddha statues. Additionally, the area around Jedyod road offers backpacker bars and affordable dining options.
The food centre at the Chiang Rai Night Bazaar has a wide variety of local Thai food stalls. There’s a stage for live music, which usually adds a lively vibe—but during our visit, it was raining and the low season, so there were plenty of empty seats. Still, we had a great time! We ordered a hotpot that came with a generous basket of vegetables and a large plate of meat, prawns, and cuttlefish—all for just 200 baht. It sounded too good to be true, so we asked three times to confirm the price—and yes, it really was that affordable! We also got vegetarian gyoza from another stall and finished our meal with a tasty box of mango sticky rice for 50 baht. There are many stalls offering a good range of local dishes, so it’s easy to find something you’ll enjoy. Highly recommend this place for a casual and budget-friendly dinner. By the way, we had a fabulous massage just a 3-minute walk away at Chiang Rai Nice Massage. Definitely worth checking out while you're in the area!

The Saturday Night Market in Chiang Rai is one of the most impressive and lively markets I’ve ever visited. Stretching for what feels like kilometers, the walk through the market is long and seemingly endless, filled with a vibrant mix of food, culture, and shopping. It’s a true sensory experience that captures the spirit of northern Thailand. The food selection is absolutely massive. You’ll find everything from Lanna-style rice dishes, fried pork and chicken, pad Thai, braised pork rice, to sweet treats like Thai pancakes, fruit desserts, and colorful cakes. I personally tried the fried omelette rice and fried pork—both were cooked perfectly, full of flavor and very satisfying. The tom yum soup I had was also rich and delightfully spicy, a perfect example of authentic Thai cuisine. Beyond food, the market offers rows of clothing stalls, handmade souvenirs, and traditional crafts. While most items are reasonably priced, it's good to stay aware of tourist mark-ups. A little bargaining goes a long way here. Adding to the festive atmosphere is live cultural entertainment, including traditional Thai dance performances right in the middle of the street. Locals and tourists alike are encouraged to join in and enjoy the rhythm, adding a wholesome community feel to the market. Whether you're there to shop, eat, or just soak in the atmosphere, the Saturday Night Market in Chiang Rai is an unforgettable experience. It's a must-visit for anyone looking to explore the local culture in an authentic and exciting way.
Alex C — Google review
Must do in Chiang Rai, this little Thailand town is most alive at night. Most of the vendors are sweet and no pressure. But some of the best deals we found on zipperless luggage, and clothes souvenirs were at this market. For example, I purchased a brand new crocodile skin wallet (2 tone), high quality for 950 TB ($29 USD). Crazy! The Thai food is always amazing and please interact with the Thai people, they are the best. Tip - take the Tuk Tuk taxi’s every you can, they are unforgettable! We got the “wild ride of Mr. Toad” more than once! Highly recommend the night bazaar!
Steven N — Google review
Very different from the night markets in the South. Quiet and spread over a couple of streets, it has 2 central venues with a stage, one offering western music and another Thai music, both live. There are eateries surrounding the stage and has a party atmosphere about it. Kids running around and and parents doing their own things. Did so clothes shopping. The bust stand is the landmark if you have to Google maps it.
Christopher P — Google review
Lots of souvenirs and standard tourist clothes on offer. A few unique art stalls. A small food court area offering various Thai, hotpot and western food. More expensive than other local markets but some stalls have reasonable prices 60 baht+ for cheapest dishes. Chairs and tables get taken quickly, seating in the middle is not covered so was wet when we arrived.
Alex M — Google review
This night market of Chiang Rai is located right near the bus stop. The food here is very tasty and there are many options to eat here. The seating arrangement and lighting are very good, but the crowd here was very less.

Cozy place to spend the evening at. You’ll find stands for food and local entertainment, which includes local music and dancing. Almost felt part of the Chiang Rai community thanks to the lovely vibes that this place has at night. Strongly recommended

Sights & Landmarks
Wat Rong Suea Ten, also known as the Blue Temple, is a modern Buddhist temple in Chiang Rai. It stands out with its striking sapphire blue exterior and intricate golden detailing. Visitors can explore this monumental temple as part of a day tour that includes other prominent temples such as the White Temple (Wat Rong Khun) and the Black House (Baandam Museum).
Wat Rong Suea Ten, also known as the Blue Temple, is one of Chiang Rai’s most stunning and modern temples. Designed by a student of Chalermchai Kositpipat, the creator of the White Temple (Wat Rong Khun), it beautifully combines traditional Thai Buddhist architecture with striking contemporary design. The temple’s vivid blue and gold tones immediately catch your eye, creating an atmosphere that feels both mystical and serene. Once you enter the main hall, you’ll be amazed by the enormous white Buddha statue sitting gracefully in the center. The surrounding interior glows with intricate paintings in deep shades of blue and turquoise, symbolizing wisdom and purity. Every corner of the temple showcases fine craftsmanship — from the naga serpents at the entrance to the detailed wall murals that tell Buddhist stories. Wat Rong Suea Ten is not only a visual masterpiece but also a place of peaceful energy. The temple isn’t as crowded as the White Temple, making it easier to enjoy quietly and reflect spiritually. Outside, small vendors sell souvenirs, snacks, and local desserts, adding a lively touch without disturbing the temple’s calmness. The service from the local caretakers and housekeeping team deserves praise. The area is kept spotless, the walkways are well-maintained, and even during busy hours, the atmosphere remains clean and inviting. They are friendly and polite, always greeting visitors with a smile and offering help when needed. Overall, Wat Rong Suea Ten is a must-visit destination in Chiang Rai — a perfect blend of creativity, spirituality, and Thai artistry that leaves every visitor in awe.
Bonkerp — Google review
Beautiful temple to understand thai architecture mixed with modern and contemporary art. Very detailed work. It is a stunning modern temple known for its vibrant blue and gold design. Built on the site of an old temple once abandoned for a century, it was completed in 2016 by a student of Chalermchai Kositpipat, the artist behind the White Temple. The temple blends traditional Thai art with modern creativity, making it a mesmerizing symbol of spiritual beauty and contemporary artistry. The naga (serpent guardians) at the entrance protect the temple and symbolize power, water, and transformation. You can see these different types of guardians protecting the temples in buddhist culture.
Prabhani L — Google review
The temple is awesome, highly recommended !! Try to be there before 10 am to be able to make pictures without other tourists. Make sure to walk all the way around the main building, there are two additional fancy statues (with skulls) at the back entrance. (See my pictures.) Also at the back entrance there is a museum about the history and creating of the temple. (See my pictures.) Beware, entrance fee is 50 Baht, which is rather high as the museum is not too big. (15 - 20 mins are enough.)
BBQ — Google review
In all honesty this beats the white temple hands down for sheer visitability. Same creative flair but more compact and with way less visitors. Also actually in use as a Buddhist temple, just with added Disneyland vibes in the most Thai way imaginable. Just take a taxi and spend 30 minutes here, you won't regret it unless you have an aversion to the color blue or fun
Maarten D — Google review
View @ Wat Rong Suea Ten / Blue Temple. . Opened in 2016, the striking sapphire blue of this temple symbolises purity and wisdom, designed by artist Phuttha Kabkaew. . Tigers once roamed freely here, and sculptures of tigers pay homage, hence the name Temple Of The Dancing Tiger. . Guardian elephant statues, in blue and gold, carries an aura of resilience and fortitude.
Ivan T — Google review
The Blue Temple work of the student of the Maestro who conceived the White Temple. Blue and White are inward looking colours. And the Blue Temple has giant White Buddha on the end side of the longitudinal Temple! Here the artistic imagination resurged in aesthetics. How can you with everything in Blue feel the Grand serene purity without a contrast colour so Tathagata is sculpted in White. Aesthetically by making all imaginary Beings like birds, lions, angels in Blue the contrast is lost! All is Blue! Eyes see not distinct Beings but all blue! This I say as an artist but the Temple is a marvel of imagination and creativity. And the philosophy of Éphémère of Buddha is well depicted in the heap of skulls and heads to fuel disenchantment with greed Ego,, Self and permanence nothing but illusion and transitory. The gold with blue becomes a mystic divine aura! Kudos to artist! Buddha is an Eternal philosophy of Being. From North India where he moved till 80 years of his life he Realized Eternal Truth and shared it with all.. The 4 Truths and gave his Dhamma chukka parvittana or Deer Park Sermon in Sarnath. South East Asia is the biggest home to his thoughts and philosophy though Indians have suffered with amnesia about his landmark contribution to humanity!??

Very beautiful temple. Wat Rong Suea Ten, commonly known as the Blue Temple, is a contemporary Buddhist temple in Chiang Rai, Thailand, celebrated for its vivid blue and gold design. The name Wat Rong Suea Ten translates to “House of Dancing Tigers.” Distinguished by its brilliant sapphire-blue exterior—a rare choice for Thai temples—it combines traditional Thai architectural elements with modern artistic flair. The result is a visually striking and spiritually meaningful landmark

It’s smaller than White Temple but similar style - just very blue. They have a museum (50 THB) and one main temple! I found it more beautiful/interesting than White Temple as the ceilings are intricate and beautiful - one to visit if you’re already in Chiang Rai :)

Chivit Thamma Da Coffee House, Bistro & Bar is a charming family-owned establishment situated along the picturesque Kok River in Chiang Rai, Thailand. This cozy spot offers a delectable array of dishes crafted from locally sourced ingredients, providing a delightful taste of northern Thai cuisine while also supporting the local community. The menu boasts an enticing mix of traditional Thai and European fare, catering to diverse palates. Additionally, visitors can indulge in an assortment of delectable cakes from the bakery.
I visited Chivit Thamma Da Coffee House several times during my stay in Chiang Rai. It’s a beautiful riverside spot with vintage charm and a peaceful ambience, perfect for relaxing with coffee or a meal. The drinks and desserts are well-prepared, and though service can be a bit slow during peak hours, it’s still a wonderful place to unwind and enjoy the view. Truly, it's one of the best cafés l've ever visited.

Very awesome restaurant that has a beautiful setting on the river with a very relaxed welcoming colonial atmosphere. The food and drinks are high standard and reasonably priced. The service is efficient and friendly. This is definitely somewhere you should at least visit once during you stay in Chiangrai

We came here for a relaxed Sunday lunch and sat outside in the garden, which has a lovely, peaceful atmosphere with lots of greenery and a charming old house setting. It felt very chilled and a great spot to linger over a meal. The menu is extensive, with plenty of Thai and Western choices. I went for a burger, which was tasty and well presented with crispy fries, while my friend tried the stew, which was enjoyable but a little on the watery side. The smoothies are also worth trying — there’s a wide selection and mine was refreshing. Service was friendly and unhurried, and it felt like the kind of place you could easily spend a couple of hours. Prices are fair considering the setting and portion sizes. Overall, it’s a beautiful café-restaurant with great ambience, a wide menu, and a nice balance between Western comfort food and local dishes. Would recommend for a laid-back lunch or to simply enjoy the gardens with a drink.

⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ On my most recent visit to Chivit Thamma Da I had a magnificent dining experience! The food as usual was superb and the ambiance was warm and welcoming. All of the staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. What stood out the most on my last visit was the exceptional, attentive, professional and top notch service that we received from the waitress Sai. She was very thoughtful and gave us first class service that made the special occasion an unforgettable evening. Chivit Thamma Da is highly recommended! The food is amazing, the riverside view is spectacular and the service is first class. I look forward to my next visit.

Chivit Thamma Da Coffee House, Bistro & Bar is an absolute gem in Chiang Rai and an essential stop for anyone visiting the area. From the stunning, relaxed riverside setting to the exceptional service, everything about this place is top-notch. The food, in particular, was sensational! We were completely blown away by several dishes. The chicken wings were simply delightful—perfectly cooked and seasoned. The fish salad was an absolute highlight; light, fresh, and bursting with amazing flavour. And let me tell you, the slow cooked beef stew is an absolute must order—rich, tender, and deeply satisfying. I will absolutely and whole-heartedly recommend this place to all my friends. A must if you are in Chiang Rai!

I am happy to be here 🩷lovely place, delicious food, and good service. We order fire rice with fermented pork, salad (so fresh), tomato based soup noodles, fire chicken. "Driving into Chiang Rai with my wife, we didn’t really know the city and just picked this place because it was nearby and highly rated on Google Maps. It turned out to be a great choice. We shared a Northern Thai appetizer platter, a Pork Chop with pan‑fried potatoes, a spicy Anchovies, Garlic, Dry Chili and Olive spaghetti, and a brunch plate with croissant, smoked salmon and poached eggs – everything was fresh, well seasoned and nicely presented. The staff speak very good English and are genuinely friendly, which makes ordering and asking questions very easy. The drinks are also excellent and not overly sweet. For anyone driving through Chiang Rai and looking for tasty food, good drinks and a relaxed atmosphere, this restaurant is well worth a stop."

An impressive menu with an extensive range of foods, drinks and desserts. Excellent food, very attentive and efficient service, and a lovely serene and upmarket setting. We had the Australian beef stew, which was outstanding, the beef khao soi, which was absolutely delicious, bangers and mash (simple but delicious) and an egg white omelette with garlic bread (very tasty). Our server asked about allergies and made a spot-on recommendation about our son’s drink. Definitely worth a visit!

Larb Sanam Keela is a well-known restaurant in Chiang Rai, popular among locals and visitors alike. Located on the east side of town near Le Meridien Hotel, it offers traditional Northern Thai cuisine with a focus on meat dishes. The no-frills outdoor cafe provides an English menu for easy ordering and is renowned for its flavorful Laap menu, including the must-try Gaeng Hung Lay.
We tried Lanna cuisine here, and the staff was incredibly friendly—they even taught us the proper way to eat it. The food has a unique blend of herbs and flavors that really stand out. Definitely recommend giving it a try if you’re visiting Chiang Rai!

The Northern-style dishes here are delicious! The service is excellent, with staff checking in regularly. Prices are reasonable and not overly expensive. The portions of vegetables and larb are very generous—so much so that we had to pack some to take home. We ordered quite a few dishes, and the total came to 900 THB, which is great value. If you’re looking for a Northern Thai restaurant with a nice atmosphere, I recommend this place. It can get a bit crowded during lunchtime, but the wait for food isn’t long at all.
Pang T — Google review
The local cuisine of Northern Thailand is served at this restaurant, which is popular among locals. It’s likely to be less crowded during lunchtime compared to the evening, as the location is not in a tourist area. It’s best suited for those with private vehicles. The food is bold and flavorful, and you can specify your preferred level of spiciness. The crying tiger beef (grilled marinated beef with dipping sauce) is delicious, and the spicy beef tendon soup offers a very authentic local taste. There are also many unique dishes on the menu.

Had an absolutely stellar pork laab here. And I loved the mixed pork platter, as well. One of the best meals I’ve had in Thailand, hands down! Staff is friendly, and the outdoor seating is nice. Great place.

Obviously a truly local restaurant as most guests were Thai. That is a good thing. Tourist restaurants are geared toward customers who "don't know any better" Food was great. We had the garlic fried whole fish, cabbage in oyster sauce and fried rice. All very good. Outdoor seating (most with cover), no A/C but it was a rainy day so quite comfortable. Service very good.

A very happening place. Filled with locals on a Sunday night, but I could easily get a seat (in July). This place is better suited for a group than for a solo. I think it’s best to try and share a few dishes (like the recommended fish or fried pork). I got a northern style Heng Ley curry. It was good, but not too flavourful. It looked spicy but wasn’t. Very oily (in a yummy way). Decently sweet. The pork inside was delicious. It was 130 baht (although prices aren’t listed on their recommended menu for some reason). Rice was another 10 baht. They were able to pack it up for me to take my leftovers home, which was so so kind! The servings are big.

Halal restaurant
Roti Pa Yai is a popular halal Muslim restaurant located just outside the city center of Chiang Rai. The dining area has a pleasant countryside style and offers a range of delicious curries to accompany their fabulous stuffed rotis. One must-try dish is the Roti mataba gai, a chicken-stuffed roti perfect for dipping in the chunky sauce.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant for roti lovers. Experience the authentic flavors of the traditional chicken/beef and bean curry, a beloved dish that I enjoyed with the best iconic bean curry. Yummy.

One of the best halal restaurants in Chiang Rai. The Roti is flaky and the curries are flavorful especially the Green Curry. If you are tired of northern food then this place will hit your spot. Their milk based drink is also good. Parking is available next to the store.

Probably my new favourite place on earth. The cheese roti with condensed milk was SO delicious. It’s a great dessert. I’m not sure if it’s supposed to come with condensed milk, but I asked for it sweet because I’ve seen it that way in Bangkok. So so delicious. The people there are lovely. My roti was ready in just a few minutes. It’s pretty big. Either get ready for a large dessert, or it’s perfect for sharing. 50 baht for most of the dessert rotis. They have sweet and savoury. Their curries look delicious. Open late and on Grab. They have a bathroom too.

The food was alright. If you wanna have a break from Thai dish and would like to try another cuisine in cheap price you can come and try. I got a set of roti with 3 different curries for 100THB. The only problem for me is that the place was hot (non air-con).

I was really excited to come hear because of all the amazing reviews, so maybe my hopes were too high or I didn’t order the right things. Chicken Murtabak was disappointing, with no chicken pieces (I literally didn’t see any and went to ask, maybe they had mixed up the order - they hadn’t). I would call it potato murtabak, rather. It’s wasn’t bad, but just not with chicken. The accompaning small spicy salad was the best part of the whole experience. It was awesome! Northern Thai sausage was very tasty, maybe little bit too dry. I’ve had juicer in other palaces. Hot milky tea was very good. That’s sth I wouldn’t miss. All in all the food was pleasant. I would come back another time to try sth else, as the prices are really affordable.

Best shop we visited during our trip. We almost decided not to enter due to the shop's proximity in a remote area with no other shops around. But, finally we went in and got a chance to enjoy the best indian roti and milk. They offer various options of roti and dishes. You can also eat the dishes with rice. Roti and a glass of warm milk was our favorite. The staff are also very friendly and helpful while we tried to decide what to order.

This is my happy place! After spending months in Thailand it's refreshing to take a break from typical Thai food. Roti Pa Yai is that break you are looking for. The flavors are all there and the service matches the greatness of the food! The place is clean and very reasonablely priced. Tasted like I was back in Dubai! The staff were attentive and the food came out pretty quickly. In Chiang Rai for a few more days and will definitely be stopping back for more!

Roti was very good and made to order. I ordered the chicken curry, beef dal and chicken Murtabak. The chicken curry had a very good flavor but too watery for my taste. I really like the beef dal. And was disappointed at the chicken Murtabak as it was filled with egg and vegetables and did not see the chicken in it. Overall food was good, i would come back. Prices are affordable. They do have an English menu. I only took pictures of the Roti section but they also offer thai food.

Restaurant
Give Green Farm House is a charming family-run restaurant in Chiang Rai that offers a unique farm-to-fork experience. The restaurant boasts clean and safe organic vegetable gardens, allowing guests to handpick their own ingredients and customize the seasoning of their dishes. With a focus on using fresh, locally sourced ingredients, the menu caters to various dietary preferences including gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, and meat lovers.
We dropped by for lunch after visiting the Baan Dam Museum. The restaurant is open-air with a pond view, the farm is next to it, which gives it a really laid-back, countryside vibe. All the food we ordered was tasty, with good portion sizes and fair prices. One of the best things is that you can customise your meal—choose your preferred meat, adjust the spiciness or sweetness, however you like. The owner is super friendly too, which made the whole experience even better.

I went to eat at the restaurant and also joined the cooking class with Lanna — both experiences were amazing! Lanna is a wonderful person. Her cuisine is natural, fresh, and absolutely delicious. During the cooking class, she was attentive to everyone, answering all our questions and explaining everything perfectly. You can really see how much effort and passion she puts into her work — the whole experience was truly unforgettable! If you’re in Chiang Rai, I totally recommend it!

Quality food spot right near the Baan Dam Museum. Breezy open-air restaurant overlooking a serene man made pond. The owners were incredibly nice and informative, helping us reach a decision. Everything including the meat was farm fresh and tasted excellent! Thoroughly enjoyed my beef Pad See Ew. Perfect location if you're hungry after exploring the museum!

Very big menu with lots of options including northern Thai dishes and vegetarian food. Food was cheap considering it was near a big tourist attraction. Staff were lovely too. Would highly recommend coming here if you are visiting the Baan Dam museum (black temple).

This is such a cute restaurant! Koi fish and water feature made for a lovely atmosphere. Service was great, thank you ladies! - Didn’t have to wait long for food and the drinks were so tasty! 🥰 We had the watermelon shake (1 sweetness) Thai tea and milk (1 sweetness) Super refreshing and one of the best mixes we’ve had so far. Prawn pad Thai and the crispy pork skin were absolutely 10/10 🥰🙏🏼 would highly recommend!!
