Yangzhou

Yangzhou is a city in China's Jiangsu province, straddling the Grand Canal north of the Yangtze River. Once a major stop for the salt trade, it's now known for gardens, Islamic relics and ancient shrines. Daming Temple is a Buddhist complex named for the Daming reign (457–464) when it was built. Slender West Lake is framed by moon gates and classical bridges.

Very historic and beautiful temple. A must visit if you are in the area.

This temple has long history. You can know the history and story of Monk 鉴真. But there is treasure few people knows here. That's Stone Monument with beautiful Chinese writing and painting. You can try to search all rubbing and it's original Stone Monument in the temple. It's really funny and know the beautiful along the searching.

Lake
Sights & Landmarks
Shouxi Hu is a large park in Yangzhou that offers beautiful scenery and cultural significance. The entrance fee is relatively high, but many visitors find it worthwhile to spend a leisurely afternoon exploring the expansive grounds. The lake within the park is not very large, allowing for a pleasant 90-minute walk around its perimeter. It's recommended to bring your own refreshments as those sold within the park can be pricey.
Such a peaceful and scenic spot, perfect for a relaxing walk… The bridges and pavilions are really charming, and the whole place feels like a classic Chinese painting. It can get a little busy, but it's definitely worth checking out!
Derrick H — Google review
It is a large, beautiful and well-maintained park. However it gets insanely crowded on the weekend and on public holidays so try to go on a weekday. I'm sure it's serene and calming when not mobbed with people (including the infamous Chinese tour groups, complete with tour guides blasting their voices over loudspeakers). I really liked the bonsai garden. It costs 100 RMB.
M. V — Google review
We started from South Gate which is best option to take and exit from the North gate. The ticket fee is ¥100 but it's totally worth and you have to pay a bit for boat and electric car inside. The garden and lake are beautiful, the classic architecture are exceptional. The foods bit expensive but you can find more affordable choices around the white temple. However, the bracelet souvenirs are very expensive there.

Honestly, from a local, since every free public city park in this city is modelled after the slender west lake 瘦西湖, you won’t miss much by skipping this one and just go to any free park nearby instead. Well, supposedly there’s some bridge 五亭桥 with some bit of history, but it’s laughable in comparison with what history this city actually offers (but sadly doesn’t have too many sites to attest to due to wars and Chinese habit of building things in flammable wood) and it’s not historically important in anyway just relatively old(er).
Coco C — Google review
A beautiful complex of traditional Chinese architecture and gardening, it's obviously artificial but still worth a go. Soothing and refreshing to walk with family and friends.

I visited this place during the tsingming festival. It was filled with tourists and feeling very crowded. But the view is fantastic. The lake is not huge, even walking will onky take around 90 minutes. But there concentrates trenmendos of cultural stories, please do invite a guide accompany with the tour. Guided tour worth the cost.

Nestled in the heart of Yangzhou, Yechun Tea House is a cherished gem that has been delighting visitors since its establishment in 1885. (Translated by Google) Yangzhou's morning tea is most famous for its "three springs": Fuchun, Yechun and Gonghechun. They are all century-old shops with their own characteristics, "Fuchun's steamed buns, Yechun's thin noodles, Gonghechun's dumplings and noodles." Yechun bloomed at the imperial wharf when Emperor Qianlong came ashore in Yangzhou when he went to the south of the Yangtze River. Teahouses were built along the river. There were beautiful willows and flowers blooming along the river. It was indeed a beautiful thing to enjoy the scenery while eating. Personally, I think their pine nut siomai is really delicious. Gonghechun is a beloved eatery that truly embodies the essence of comfort food in Yangzhou. Known for its generous portions and wallet-friendly prices, this establishment specializes in dumpling noodles that are both delicious and satisfying. Gonghechun’s only dumpling noodles are delicious. The key is that they are cheap and big. The shrimp dumpling noodles are only 6 yuan a portion, which is quite generous. Other Weiyang dim sum cannot be said to be unpalatable, but they are really rough. It is really a state-owned old store, and the service cannot be exceeded. The Yangzhou Lion Pavilion Hotel, previously located near Salt Merchant Lu's Mansion, has now moved to No. 158 Hanjiang Middle Road and undergone an upgrade to the "HuaishiXishi Building." It is still a restaurant under the Lion House, and its founder is a disciple of Huaiyang cuisine master Zhou Xiaoyan. Lion's head is a famous dish in Huaiyang, so it's natural that you have some confidence to dare to name it after this. The signature top-quality lion head, in addition to the traditional "finely chopped" pork into pomegranate rice, also adds minced water chestnuts and whole salted egg yolks. Personally, I think the surprise is the crispy rice grains sprinkled on top, which makes the whole taste richer and more three-dimensional. The braised soup is rare and neither salty nor greasy. The improvement of the blanched dried shreds won my heart. The refined marinade is added with sesame oil, which is clear and fragrant. The traditional shrimp accompaniment is changed to braised beef shreds and mustard cubes, and the taste is even better! The service is also very good! Dining at the "卢氏古宅餐厅" is truly an experience that transports you to a different era, reminiscent of eating in a museum.
