Keyakidaira Station is the final stop on the Kurobe Gorge Railway, situated at an elevation of about 600 meters where the Babadani River meets the Kurobe River. The station boasts its own observation deck, souvenir shop, and information center. Visitors can explore various trails leading to nearby attractions and enjoy stunning panoramic views of the gorge's geological wonders, with the Kurobe River flowing below and towering mountain peaks.
After about 1 hrs in very chilled rainy day of mid November. What we found is first snow on top of mountains. Outstanding Scenery, Worth !!!

A must stop to visit the various scenic spots near this station. The orange trains here were eye catching. The station is spacious and well maintained. All the train timings are easily read and visible. Do spend a bit of time here to explore the surroundings. Well worth the time!!

Scenic railway up the mountains. Splendid views especially in autumn. Be sure to try the open air onsen a stone's throw away from the last station up at the Kurobe Gorges.

Beautiful view. Man eater is there haha. If you take a truck you can just drop off here. You will have a foot bath. If you wanna walk to the end it takes more than one hour so we haven’t gone there.

I found myself with an hour to kill here after I missed my train by less than ten seconds. The views from this location are amazing and there are a few shops to help while away some minutes though expect to pay a premium given the remoteness of the locations. The restrooms are large given the size of the station but they can be quite busy right after the train comes in (the ride up is about 90 minutes)

This place is amazing!!! I visited here during the autumn, so the colored leaves were beautiful. Even though the transportation fee for coming here and seeing the Kurobe gorge is expensive, it’s really worth the price. It’s a gorgeous and calm place. I recommended walking to the Babadani onsen. It takes around 1 hour, but it’s stunning.

A great area to stroll around with beautiful landscapes. There are several spots to visit, it's better to visit the visitor center to get the information of each places, they also includes the time require to walk from one place to another. The highlight here is the red bridge, the best spot to photograph it is from below the bridge, near the river.

Kuronagi Station is the initial stop on the Kurobe Gorge Railway, situated in a secluded area overlooking the confluence of Kuronagi River and Kurobe River. While trains make only brief stops here, visitors can enjoy views of the Atobiki Bridge from the station platform. The station also serves as a point of access for those heading to Kuronagi Onsen.
It's a small station along the Kurobe Dam tourist railroad. The ride is full of beautiful sights.

I just pass by on this station but I guess it’s a great area. It feature the blue and black bridge, I guess it’s represent the old and modern. There’s an onsen nearby to check in.

(Translated by Google) I got off the train midway to go to Kuronagi Onsen. The round trip to the hot springs was quite tiring, and I finally arrived at Kuronagi Station, drenched in sweat in the heat. The waiting room at the station was air-conditioned, so it was very cool and refreshing. 🤭 The station staff at Kuronagi Station encouraged me to rest in the waiting room, and even greeted and took photos with everyone on the platform. I left feeling incredibly warm and hospitable. For some reason, I felt like buying a drink from the vending machine to contribute to sales, which was a strange behavior. The Kurobe Gorge, situated in Chubu-Sangaku National Park, is a renowned V-shaped gorge in Japan and holds the distinction of being designated as a Special Place of Scenic Beauty and a Special Natural Monument. The area boasts primeval forests and crystal-clear streams that offer breathtaking views, transitioning from fresh greenery in early summer to deep green hues during the season and vibrant reds in autumn. Visitors can embark on an exploration of the steep gorge via a trolley train.
Actually awesome. The views were amazing and all the staff/workers were so lovely and enthusiastic. I've been mountain climbing in this region quite a lot, so it was nice seeing the mountains from the railway. It was also a lot less crowded than I expected (no queueing required for on-the-day tickets although it was a weekday). Totally worth the trip from Kanazawa.

Extreamly beautifull view. But you have to be prepare that for the half of the ride you will be in tunels. If you sit on the wrong part of the train you won't have the best view. Sit on the right part when you departure and on the left when going back to base station. At the last stop you have about 20 minutes but there ist nothing to do and no good view so you can go to the toilet and sit in the train. There are station along the way but if you get off there is no garantee you will get in on the next train so its a bit risky. All in all its a great expirience and i recomend you going there.

20251107 gorgeous views of the autumn leaves! I like the open car way more, although we booked the close window ("relax car"). To feel the breeze and the smell of the forests. Beware of stinky bugs and loud noise thou (my friend is afraid of the bugs, but they fly away soon if you keep on moving, taking pictures).
E. L — Google review
We went for fall foliage. It was beautiful. We didn't reserve the tickets. In order to reserve tickets, you should do at least 2 days in advance. We chose to ride the open-air car since we want to take pictures without the glare of glass on windows in the enclosed cars. Everything was well organized and ran smoothly. Remember to bring a jacket, it's cold. Because there is no reserve seats, if you want to have the view fully, choose seat on the right side. Because of the damage caused by the earthquake in 2024, the railway only runs between Unazukionsen Station and Nekomata Station. It stops at Nekomata Station for 20 minutes. There is not much to do in Nekomata Station though. I just wish the train ran at a bit slower speed at major attractions. It wasn't fast, but I wanted to be able to "feel" rather than just passing by.

Great views, very brisk for fall, so bring a coat. I would recommend concert ear plugs if riding in the open seat cars as the rails can be piercingly loud.

Scenic Train Ride Weather Note: Be prepared for the elements. The day we rode was 12^\circ\text{C} and cloudy, and the standard cabin is completely open-air (zero back support, plus wind and bugs). Pro Tip: Upgrade to the closed cabin for an extra ¥600. It has backrests and protection from the weather, making the two-hour round trip much more comfortable. Photography Warning: While the views are scenic, be aware that getting a "picture-perfect" shot is not guaranteed. The view is frequently obstructed by poles, wiring, and cabin structures, making it challenging to capture clean, unobstructed photos. Schedule: Boarded at 1:11 PM. The journey included one quick stop for passengers and a dedicated 20-minute break for photos/restrooms. Total duration: \approx 2 hours. Parking: Very convenient. The lot is < 5 minutes from the station. Payment is tracked by your license plate number; you simply enter it into the machine upon exit.

Majestic bridge which is just next to Keyakidaira train station. Was quiet when we were there, so had the time to look closely around. Though the bridge was the main attraction, but the Kurobe river that flows underneath it is the real gem. If you have a good camera, try taking long exposure of the river. You will be amazed.

The height difference from the valley is very large. Looking down, the scenery is very spectacular. , but the river valley scenery is still a common problem in the Kurobe Gorge. It has been greatly transformed by humans and turned into an artificial river valley. The value is not high, but it is still worth visiting. There is a long trail to walk after crossing the bridge. Unazuki Beer Hall is a craft beer brewery located just an eight-minute drive from the Hokuriku Expressway's Kurobe Interchange. The attached restaurant offers a lunch buffet from April to November, featuring local ingredients and Unazuki Beer. Visitors can enjoy three kinds of beer brewed with water from the Kurobe River and locally harvested barley. The facility also includes shops selling local specialties and unique souvenirs.
A great place for some delicious craft beers and good food. The restaurant is quite large and spacious - it has a beer hall vibe to it. Plenty of seating. Perfect for large gatherings. The staff were super nice and friendly. They were knowledgeable about the beers they served and were very helpful. The small supermarket across from the brewery/restaurant is also great. Lots of local produce and other local stuff. You can also buy various craft beers here. I really enjoyed coming here - I’ll definitely be back. Please enjoy 😊

河鹿(かじか) is a popular kamameshi and oden shop that offers a touch panel ordering system. The kamameshi, made to order, takes about 20 minutes and is known for its delicious gomoku rice and firefly squid. Additionally, the grilled fish is topped with kelp. Oden is available as an assortment of items or as single servings, featuring Toyama specialties such as firefly squid pickled offshore and kelp tightening.
I enjoyed the dishes I ordered at this family run restaurant - it is one of the 3 restaurants open in town on a Monday. Service is great - the staff is patient with me when I have to use a translator app to read and communicate in Japanese. Food is served at reasonable speed. The restaurant accepts credit cards.

We liked the seating of the table but are not impressed by the food. Might be because we are not japanese, but everything seems to be mainly cooked in broth. If this is your thing go for it, but not for us. Also barely any meat (other than seafood) and vegetarian options. Sorry

We were a bit wary of what was written earlier about customer service here but it went well as we got there early to study the menu and ask questions. My husband speaks adequate Japanese and we managed to order a delicious meal of crab kamameshi, firefly squid, braised pork and sashimi wrapped in sea kelp. The food is very tasty. The drunk guest at the counter made the staff smile & laugh. Know that water & tea is self-service and there's a kamameshi vending machine outside if it's too crowded or you're pressed for time.

Did not want to eat hotel food, which tend to be too filling. Oden or precooked vegetables and fish cakes in soup stock is very good here. BUT the maid or server behind the counter pretended not hear us. We screamed, shouted and somehow got some food, but if you are in a hurry or not likely to be loved by the woman, seek other eating place. Be aware of the unsophisticated country bumpkin.

Nice Sushi Restaurant. You can order on a tablet or take sushi from the moving belt, carefull as there is no actual sushi on the belt, when there are few visitors. Me and my family came here multiple times, even driving over an hour from our home because it’s the best sushi in our vicinity.

Although the quality is pretty good for the price(which isn't low), the wait times at Kito Kito can be pretty long, as there isn't that much space. The shinkansen kaiten is fun for the area, and I like the old-fashioned style of the interior. My friend however was chastised a few years ago when she wanted to put ponzu sauce on her tempura, which one of the sushi chefs came out to tell her not to do that, which was pretty rude. Other than that, it's a decent place.

More than anything, I am deeply grateful for the precious experience of being able to eat raw fish in such a remote location in the mountains.

(Translated by Google) We had lunch at a restaurant on the second floor of Keyakidaira, the arrival station for the trolley train in Kurobe City, Toyama Prefecture. The menu mainly consists of simple items such as soba, udon, ramen, and curry. With limited time, it becomes a speed menu to judge. When you buy a meal ticket, your order is automatically placed in the kitchen. I ordered Toyama's specialty black ramen. It looks dark, but it's not particularly strong or spicy, it feels like slightly burnt soy sauce ramen, and it costs 900 yen. Other menus are also around 1000 yen. Local menu items such as white shrimp kakiage udon seem to be popular. Soba noodle shop
Japanese restaurant
If you find yourself in Unazukionsen, make sure to stop by わらびや for an unforgettable dining experience. This charming eatery specializes in soba noodles that are simply out of this world—some of the best you'll ever taste! The freshness of their tempura prawns is remarkable, bringing a delightful ocean essence to each bite.
Incredibly delicious soba. The quality of the noodles was something I've not really had before and the tempura prawn was very fresh - the ocean flavours came through. I regret not having a proper look at the seasonal menu items which included hida beef, and for not ordering more tempura.

That was the best soba noodles I've ever had in my life. We visited in August and they only had cold dishes available. They did have an English menu. Don't miss this if you come to Unazukionsen. It's half a block from the Yamanoha resort.

Had tempura soba and cold soba. Prawn was very fresh. It was quite nice in this area.

Although language is a problem but there is google translate and the lady serving is kind. Need to be patient as noodles is cook one by one.

Language is a barrier but the food is really good, it looks like a humble place but they are big on taste.

Very friendly staff. Was able to very easily get a vegetarian meal. Just had to ask and they made changes to the tempura.

Dont even try if you're not japanese. We were turned away from a mostly empty restaraunt. Straight up disrespectful.
