Lake
Upper Lake, also known as Bhojtal Lake, is a stunning 31 square kilometer artificial lake in Bhopal. Created over eleven centuries ago by Raja Bhoja, it offers breathtaking views and opportunities to observe wildlife. Visitors can enjoy boat clubs and tours on the pristine blue expanse with tiny islands. The lake is surrounded by hiking trails and the Van Vihar National Park, home to a rich variety of birds and animals.
Very beautiful place in Bhopal, we can say it's a identity of Bhopal, You can walk peacefully arround lake in the evening and also enjoy beautiful sunset from boat.

Upper Lake is the most serene place in Bhopal. Perfect for peaceful moments and fun activities like boating. A must-visit for nature lovers!

This is the most iconic place of Bhopal for tourists and locals both. The lake offers breathtaking views and is a beautiful place for leisure walks. Recently, I discovered a nice area developed by MP Tourism for morning and evening stroll. There are nice shaded shelters and benches along with landscaped and well maintained garden. Lot of bird watching can also be done here. The sunrise and sunset look serene and scenic from this spot. Some films and web series have also been shot at this location recently. A place I return to often as my heart still yearns for the peace and tranquility it offers.

Bhopal is a city of lots of human made lakes and this one is the biggest of all. It's a perfect place to chill in the evening and there are lots of snacking and street food options available over here. You can also do the boating if you're keenly interested or can just skip. There is beautiful art present over here which is made out of e-waste don't forget to check that out as well.

They could have provide more facilities but govt is not properly taking care of this. Outside a police chowki means security is good. But the committee have purchase so many shikara boat with roof but not operating. No proper control of govt on private boats. Also bargaining is there.

Mosque
Sights & Landmarks
Taj-ul-Masajid, also known as the "Crown of Mosques," is a massive 19th-century red-stone mosque located in Bhopal, India. It boasts imposing minarets, white domes, and intricate carved arches that showcase the city's elegant architectural style. Despite facing construction setbacks throughout history, it was finally completed in 1985 through public donations.
A Sikh's Perspective: A Soulful Experience at Taj-ul-Masajid, Bhopal As a Sikh and someone who deeply values spiritual architecture and interfaith harmony, visiting Taj-ul-Masajid in Bhopal was a moving and memorable experience. The name itself — meaning "Crown of Mosques" — is a fitting tribute to this majestic structure that stands tall not just in scale, but in grace, serenity, and historical importance. The first thing that struck me was its grandeur and tranquility. One of the largest mosques in India, it rises proudly with its pink façade, massive domes, and soaring minarets — a reminder of India's rich Islamic architectural heritage. The mosque isn't just a place of worship, it's a living monument that carries centuries of devotion, resilience, and artistry. What stood out most to me was the warmth and openness of the people. I was greeted with respect and curiosity. There was no barrier of faith — only shared reverence. It reminded me of the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, who emphasized "Na koi Hindu, na Musalman" — that at the root of all spiritual paths is one universal truth and Creator. Whether you're spiritual, a lover of history, or simply someone seeking peace — I wholeheartedly recommend a visit to Taj-ul-Masajid. It's not just a mosque — it's a celebration of faith, culture, and the diversity that defines India.
AstroSarvam S — Google review
This mosque is a very beautiful mosque. After going here you will feel as if you have gone there many years ago. People go to the mosque here to offer prayers. There are very good people living here with whom I have talked. They gave me a lot of information about the mosque. They told me how this mosque was built, who built it, when it was built, so after coming here I felt very good going inside this mosque.
Lakshmi R — Google review
When I stepped inside Taj-ul-Masajid in Bhopal, it honestly felt like time slowed down. The calmness of the place hits you first — that soft echo of azaan, the faint scent of ittar in the air, and the reflection of its grand pink domes on the still water of the courtyard. The mosque is massive — one of the largest in India — but what truly amazed me wasn’t just its size, it was its soul. Every arch, every marble corridor tells a story of faith, patience, and the artistry of Mughal architecture. Standing there, watching the sunlight filter through the arches, I could almost feel the centuries of devotion that built this masterpiece. And when the evening azaan begins, the entire atmosphere transforms — golden sky, gentle breeze, and the sound of prayers rising together. It’s not just a monument… it’s an emotion. Taj-ul-Masajid isn’t a place you just visit; it’s a place you feel. ---
Saiyad A — Google review
That's wonderful! Visiting Taj-ul-Masajid on Eid-ul-Adha for Namaz is truly special. The atmosphere there during Eid is incredibly serene and spiritually uplifting. Thousands gather in its vast courtyard, the pink sandstone glowing beautifully in the morning light, and the sense of unity and devotion is overwhelming in the best way.
Akbar A — Google review
Architecturally stunning and spiritually uplifting. The masjid’s interiors are simple yet elegant, and the environment is filled with tranquility. You truly feel connected to Allah here.

The Taj-ul-Masajid stands as the magnificent epitome of beauty and legacy in Bhopal. While the city's deep history encompasses centuries—from General Bhupal and Rani Kamlapati to Dost Mohammad Khan—this mosque is the crowning jewel of its more recent past. Its dramatic construction story, marked by halting periods and a phenomenal resumption, only adds to its legendary status. Today, the Taj-ul-Masajid is the enduring identity of Bhopal, radiating peace, beauty, and harmony for all who visit.

The Darul Mazid (Darul Uloom Taj-ul-Masajid) in Bhopal — a perfect blend of spirituality, history, and architectural grandeur. Known as the “Crown of Mosques”, this magnificent structure is one of India’s largest and most breathtaking mosques, radiating timeless beauty and divine grace. The moment I entered, I was greeted by the sight of vast courtyards, tall minarets touching the sky, and three majestic white domes glistening in sunlight — a view that truly leaves you in awe. The serene reflection of the mosque in the central ablution pond creates a picture-perfect moment that speaks of peace and devotion. Every corner of Darul Mazid tells a story through its intricate Mughal-style carvings, finely detailed arches, and elegant marble flooring. The tranquil prayer hall fills the soul with calmness as the soft recitation of prayers echoes through the air. Adding to its charm, the attached Darul Uloom (Islamic seminary) continues to enlighten young minds with both religious and modern education, keeping alive a legacy of knowledge and harmony. Clean, peaceful, and beautifully maintained, this place welcomes every visitor with warmth and respect. Visiting during sunrise or sunset is pure magic — the golden light dancing over red sandstone walls makes it a photographer’s paradise. Whether you’re drawn by faith, architecture, or simply the charm of Bhopal’s heritage, Darul Mazid is a must-visit destination that captures the heart and soul of India’s rich cultural tapestry. Lake
Lower Lake, also known as Chhota Talab, is a serene and picturesque destination in Bhopal. It is adjacent to the Upper Lake and together they form the Bhoj Wetlands. The lake is surrounded by lush greenery and islands, offering couples a romantic setting for activities such as boating, birdwatching, and picnicking.
The Lower Lake is located to the east of the Upper Lake. An earthen dam separates the two lakes. The two lakes are built in a terraced manner, the lowest level of the Upper Lake is just below the highest level of the Lower Lake. The Lower Lake has an area (water spread) of 1.29 , and its catchment area is 9.6 km2. The lake receives subsurface seepage from the Upper Lake. In the 1850s, the maximum and minimum depths of the lake were 11.7 m and 6.16 m respectively. As of 2011, the maximum depth was 10.7m. The Lower Lake does not have any fresh water source; it receives seepage water from the Upper Lake and drainage from 28 sewage-filled nullahs. It drains into the Patra rivulet, which joins Halali River, a small tributary of the Betwa River. The lake was built by creating in 1794 to beautify the city. The construction was commissioned by Chote Khan, a minister of Nawab Hayat Muhammad Khan Bahadur.A number of earlier wells were merged in this lake. The lower lake is beside a bridge named 'Pul Pukhta'. The lower lake has also been mentioned as "Pukhta-Pul Talao" in literature. The Lower Lake suffers from pollution due to drainage from sewage-filled nullahs, lack of fresh water source and commercial washing of clothes. The entire lake is eutrophic, and its water is not suitable for drinking. Had a good and peaceful mindset.

Moti Masjid, often referred to as the Pearl Mosque, is a stunning 19th-century architectural gem located in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. This mosque boasts an exquisite white facade that beautifully contrasts with its striking red towers. Constructed in 1860 under the visionary leadership of Sikander Jehan Begum, a progressive ruler known for her contributions to the city's development, Moti Masjid reflects both her legacy and the rich history of female leadership in Bhopal.
I had the pleasure of visiting Moti Masjid in Bhopal, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience! The mosque is a beautiful example of Mughal architecture, with its intricate details and stunning marble work that truly leaves you in awe. The peaceful ambiance inside made it a perfect spot for reflection and tranquility. The surroundings are well-maintained, and the mosque itself stands as a testament to the rich cultural and historical heritage of Bhopal. Moti Masjid is a very beautifully built mosque. After going here, I felt that this is a very old mosque. People were offering Namaaz here. At that time, a lot of people were also coming here, so I could not click pictures properly. But this mosque is very beautiful. If you are here, then you must go here to visit. But you go here and the architecture here is very beautifully designed.

The mosque can be visited between 6 AM and 7 PM, and a typical visit lasts around an hour. Best Time to Visit: Early morning hours for a peaceful experience. The architecture of the Moti Masjid in Bhopal has a striking resemblance to the architecture of the Jama Masjid in Delhi, except for the size. The Moti Masjid features a white marble facade with two small cupolas on the top. The two dark red towers on either side of the primary structure of the mosque are equally beautiful and fascinating." - Moti Masjid, Bhopal Nice place

Bhopal is home to a number of mosques, including the Moti Masjid. The Moti Masjid may be smaller than some of the other magnificent and historically significant structures in the ‘city of mosques,’ but its significance cannot be understated. It was constructed in 1860 by Sikander Jehan Begum, a descendant of Qudusiya Begum of Bhopal, and is one of India’s best-known historical landmarks. This mosque in Bhopal looks a lot like Delhi’s Jama Masjid, except for one thing: it’s smaller. Two modest cupolas adorn the Moti Masjid’s white marble exterior. On each side of the main building are two stunning and interesting dark-red tower.
P K — Google review
Moti Masjid is a prominent landmark place of worship and famous for its architectural magnificence. It was built in 1860 AD, by Sikandar Jahan Begum who was the daughter of first lady ruler of Bhopal and mother of the great patron of architecture Nawab Shah Jahan Begum. As Bhopal is my Home Town and we are having absolutely diverse cultures. This mosque is built on a raised platform, courtyard is surrounded from north and south by verandas, having eye catching red stone archways and hangouts outside. Main Prayer hall is further elevated where in the central part white marble is used. all the corners with cenotaphs with domes tops are pointed. Can be accessed via three gates and eastern gate is unique. Top two tall minarets with domes which are pointed and three main domes with Gold Kalash. In this mosque the unique combination of red stone and white marble is quite spectacular. Northeast and Southeast corners are having ablution Hauzes with fountains. In this mosques all community get together are also held. Mostly prayers are lead by the Revered Muslim community Judge and later detail teaching of Quran how to be a perfect human. Let the Quran be the sound ethics. In this mosque mostly Nikahs (Process of Muslim Weddings) are conducted. Indeed, offering prayers here I used to feel grateful, and I find relief from the substantial pain. Friday prayer is held at 01:15 PM. Visitors will love to visit this spiritual place of worship and they can enjoy the various traditional cuisines and shopping as it is surrounded by many restaurants and commercial areas. It can not be accessed by wheel chair. It's a popular Itinerary through the heritage as mostly heritage are connected via heritage walk.

La Kuchina is a luxurious Italian and Mediterranean restaurant located in Jehan Numa Palace, Bhopal. It's an ideal spot for a lavish birthday celebration, offering a royal touch to your special day. The cafe features an open kitchen concept, traditional Sicilian decor, and warm hospitality that reflects the coastal charm of Italy.
Beautiful Italian restaurant inside the premises of Jehan numa palace hotel. Simple ambience, not too jazy yet cozy. The service was excellent. Nothing too unique or different but a simple, fine Italian restaurant where you can have a good time with good food. You should try their ice creams which was rich and tasty, especially the Belgian Chocolate (if you are a chocolate lover).

La kuchina is a lovely dining experience. One of my favourite dishes at La Kuchina is Tortellini Parmesan. Pizzas, garlic bread, sangria are great too. The staff is warm and attentive, like what you’d expect at Jehnuma. It’s a good idea to pre-book your table by calling at Jehnuma in case you are going on a weekend eve. I would definitely recommend trying it out once, for a good dining experience of Italian food in Bhopal. Also, try an appetiser other than fritters, they aren’t good. I went against the advice of the person waiting and regretted :p

One of the best Italian food I've ever had. All the food was absolutely delicious. We had ordered the minestrone soup and sundried tomato and pesto gnocchi. Both were excellent. The house bread was very good too. Ambience is wonderful. The staff and service are commendable

The soup and pizza are great. Pasta was served cold and tasteless. Service is below average, they tend to attend only big groups and totally ignore if you are a small band of friends or a couple. Not expected from a premium restaurant in Palace premises.

La Kutchina in Bhopal offers a delightful dining experience with its exquisite food and great ambience. It may be on the pricier side, but if you're looking to indulge in a luxurious meal and enjoy a memorable evening, this restaurant is worth considering. Just be prepared to spend a little extra for the quality and ambiance that La Kutchina provides.

I had a great time here at La Kuchina, very authentic Italian food with thin crust wood fired pizzas available. There were some pretty decent vegetarian options. Complimentary bun and butter were offered in the beginning which was a nice gesture I thought. We had some cheese balls as starters, extremely mouth watering and a pretty awesome Margherita pizza. Overall the food was amazing, ridiculously overpriced but considering the fact that you're near Jeha numa palace, that's expected and anywhere you try to go for a meal nearby, you'll be heavily charged for the experience.

I absolutely loved the taste of their chole bhature—I tried both the classic chole bhature and the paneer version. The raj khachori was also incredibly mouth-watering. For sweets, I highly recommend trying their rose milk—it’s a must when visiting Manohar!

Visited Manohar Dairy with good expectations, but overall experience was mixed. The noodles, dosa, and chole chature were genuinely good — fresh and flavorful. However, the rest of the food items were quite bland and lacked taste. For a place with such a big name, the flavors didn’t live up to the hype. Service and ambiance were fine, but the overall food quality was below average, especially in terms of seasoning and taste. Could be much better with some improvement in flavor consistency.

Enjoyed the service and peaceful ambience. Had heard a lot about this place for its food. But I didnt find anything exceptional in the food. Non veg platter was decent. Mutton Rogan was well cooked and soft, but the gravy was a bit salty. I tried Khameeri Roti for the first time and liked it. Service was very nice. Staff is well trained. I am not sure whether I would visit once again for the food, but yes it is a good place to host your guests.

I love this place so much with its beautiful interiors, peaceful ambience, amazing service and the most polite staff. But this one lady who is always singing during lunch buffets really ruins the experience there for me. I wish they'd hire a better singer or just play classical music/ gazals.

Very nice place for Buffet, although limited options for veg in starters as well as main course. But 10 on 10 to Mr Ramesh, who has been there for quite some time now, kudos to him for courtesy. Last i visited here was 4 years back, wherein the interior and ambience was a big no. But this time it was surprisingly upgraded for good. They offer any kind of bread/ chapaties as per your wish. Will definitely recommend and revisit. No prior booking required for weekdays. Open till 2300hr.

Went for Buffet Lunch with family. In my opinion, they have the best buffet in Bhopal, specially for non-veg lovers, it is a paradise. Positives - 1) Taste and flavour.. very authentic and delicious. 2) variety 3) at 2000/- , it is always a bargin with unlimited drinks. (₹1600/- without alcohol) 4) awesome deserts ..you can't get enough of their deserts.. Negative - Their cutlery definitely needs replacement. (As visible in attached photograph)

Great royal ambiance with live music, best for non-vegetarian. Service was excellent. The staff was very friendly and kind. There was option of Buffet Dinner as well as A la carte.

Although the buffet spread was amazing.. however the taste and the quality of food not upto the mark. To star with: 1. Paya shorba taste more like Knorr flavoured soup. 2. Murgh tikka too dry 3. Grilled fish.. seasoning was missing 4. Chicken Rizala taste more like Chicken Saagwala 5. Junglee Maas lacked basic seasoning. 6. Baked yoghurt.. what they dote about too much baked and highly unpalatable 7. Cremé bruleé to overcooked 8. Staff, no doubt courteous, however, smothering too much around the table.. not allowing to converse. All in all I won't recommend Jehan Numa Palace.. I wonder why people speak volumes about this place

Nestled in the heart of Bhopal, Under The Jamun Tree is a luxurious outdoor dining experience that transports you to a realm of royal indulgence. Surrounded by lush Jamun trees and bathed in soft lighting, this enchanting restaurant specializes in Indian BBQ while also offering an array of vegetarian delights inspired by traditional recipes once reserved for royalty.
It’s like a dreamy dinner destination. Overall setup is just perfect for a romantic dinner. Lush greenery and soothing vibes. Tried their special thali and every bite was worth it. Loved the rose petal dessert. Also tried their Greek salad and this place had so far the best salad in the city. Overall must visit for food lovers!

We ordered soup and starters. They were good and the quantity was sufficient. The main course was champaran mutton, the meat was tender and presentation nice but the curry was bland. The veg methi kofta was spicy.

A great restaurant with great ambience, great food and great vibe❤️ If you want to enjoy outdoor dining with delicious food, come to this place. Soothing and calm environment, with good food. Although on weekends the service is slow, but you need to have patience. The deserts need to have plenty of options.

The ambience is good but it starts to heat up in the afternoon. In summer time it will be hot for sure. The vegetarian options were not very tasty and well prepared.. non veg is fine.. visited there with family and there are a lot of places to click pics but food was a let down so

I had a wonderful experience at this fine dining restaurant. The ambiance was calm and refined, creating the perfect setting for a relaxing meal. The food was not only beautifully presented but also fresh, flavorful, halal, and truly refreshing — every dish was crafted with care and balance. What stood out just as much was the staff. They were exceptionally well-behaved, courteous, and attentive without being intrusive. Their professionalism and warm hospitality enhanced the overall dining experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a sophisticated meal paired with excellent service. A true gem for fine dining lovers.

Under the Jamun Tree is a deplorable dining disaster. The front desk staff’s rudeness is matched only by their absurd obsession with confiscating personal cameras—without any clear policy. Their hostile attitude ruins any chance of enjoying the food or ambiance. It’s as if they’re trained to make customers feel like intruders. Save your time, money, and self-respect; this place is an overrated nightmare. Avoid it at all costs unless you enjoy being treated like garbage while trying to eat.
