Sights & Landmarks
Landmark
The Brooklyn Bridge, a beloved landmark dating back to 1883, is a unique stone-and-steel structure that connects Manhattan and Brooklyn. It offers an iconic walk across its elevated promenade, providing breathtaking views of the East River and the city skyline. The bridge's location allows for easy access to both Lower Manhattan and the charming neighborhood of Brooklyn Heights with its stunning brownstones and row houses. Additionally, visitors can enjoy picturesque walks through Park Slope, another desirable residential area in Brooklyn.
What a lovely bridge to walk across. It takes about 30 minutes from end to end. You can see in the distance the Statue of Liberty and on the other side the Manhattan Bridge. At the end of this bridge, if you go to Dumbo, that's a really good place to also spend some time afterwards. Have some pizza, experience the market, and take some great shots of Manhattan Bridge and down under Brooklyn Bridge.

Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge is an experience that stays with you long after the journey ends. From the moment you step onto its iconic walkway, you feel a connection to history, to the countless souls who have crossed before, and to the city itself — alive, vibrant, and full of possibility. Every view is breathtaking: the skyline stretching endlessly, the river shimmering beneath, and the bridge’s architectural beauty standing as a testament to human vision and perseverance. There’s a rhythm to walking here, a pulse that invites reflection, inspiration, and awe. Whether you’re taking photos, pausing to soak it all in, or simply strolling, the bridge feels like more than a path from one borough to another — it’s a bridge between the past and present, between dreams and reality. Walking here reminded me to pause, to appreciate, and to carry a little piece of this city’s energy with me. A truly unforgettable experience.

Visiting the Brooklyn Bridge was an unforgettable experience. The weather was a perfect mix of sunny and cloudy, creating amazing light for photos and giving the entire walk a cinematic feel. I was able to grab a few photographers on the spot, negotiate a great deal, and they captured some truly beautiful memories that I’ll cherish forever. The views of Manhattan and the river were absolutely breathtaking, and the energy on the bridge was vibrant yet peaceful. Highly recommend visiting—whether you’re sightseeing, taking pictures, or just enjoying the moment, the Brooklyn Bridge never disappoints.

A Must-Do New York Experience! Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge with family and friends was absolutely unforgettable. The views are phenomenal—Manhattan’s skyline, the Statue of Liberty in the distance, and endless photo opportunities at every step. My seven-year-old loved it too! It can get windy, so if you’re visiting in winter, dress warmly or bring a windbreaker. The walk is free, fun, and great exercise. Once you reach Brooklyn, you can explore cute shops and fabulous restaurants nearby. It’s the best of all worlds—beautiful views, quality time with loved ones, and a true New York adventure.

Must do in NYC! The view is just breathtaking! You can see the Statue of Liberty from there! And all of the city it’s just so cool! Definitely an amazing spot to walk or run across. It’s free!! And super fun!!

Brooklyn Bridge – A Must-Do in New York! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge is an experience you simply cannot miss when visiting New York City! The moment you step onto the wooden walkway, you’re greeted with stunning views of Manhattan’s skyline, the East River, and even a glimpse of the Statue of Liberty in the distance. The bridge itself is a masterpiece of architecture with its towering stone arches and intricate cables — it’s as beautiful up close as it is from afar. It’s incredible to think it has been standing strong since 1883, carrying not only cars and bicycles but also thousands of people every day. The walk takes about 20–30 minutes at a relaxed pace, but you’ll want to stop often for photos. My advice: go early in the morning or just before sunset to avoid heavy crowds and capture the best light for pictures. At night, the city lights make the bridge feel even more magical. On the Brooklyn side, you can relax at Brooklyn Bridge Park, grab a slice of famous New York pizza, or just sit by the waterfront and take in the views. From the Manhattan side, you’re only steps away from City Hall, Chinatown, and the Financial District. Tip: Wear comfortable shoes, stay in the pedestrian lane (cyclists zoom by fast!), and bring your camera — every angle offers a postcard-worthy shot. 🌟 Overall: An unforgettable walk and one of the best free things to do in New York. It’s not just a bridge, it’s a true New York experience!

Iconic walk with stunning skyline views The Brooklyn Bridge is a must-visit for breathtaking views of Manhattan. A great way to experience it is to take the ferry from Pier 11 to DUMBO and then walk back across the bridge toward Manhattan, which provides an amazing perspective of the skyline. The bridge is very close to downtown Manhattan, easily accessible, and the walkway offers plenty of photo opportunities. Crowds can be moderate, but the views more than make up for it. It's iconic, scenic, and perfect for a leisurely stroll with unbeatable city views.

During our previous visit to NYC in 2015 to celebrate my wife's 50th birthday we only walked 1/2 way across the Brooklyn Bridge from Manhattan and never went all the way over to explore Brooklyn, so on our return visit in Sep 2025 to celebrate her 60th birthday we decided to walk all the way across. Our journey started with a 15 min walk from our hotel on Lexington Ave down to Grand Central Station where we took the 6 subway train to the Brooklyn Bridge City Hall station. After exiting the subway we walked to the main entrance of the bridge on the East Side of City Hall Park to begin the 1.1 mile walk across to the DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) area of Brooklyn. When we arrived at the bridge at around 11:30am on a Friday morning there were many tourists on the Bridge taking pictures and walking up to the mid point of the bridge with fantastic views of the Statute of Liberty to the right, the Manhattan Bridge on the left and the Manhatten skyline behind. The pedestrian walkway on the bridge is built above the road crossing so we were walking above a steady stream of cars they were passed slowly underneath us due the heavy volume of traffic. Subway trains don't go across the Brooklyn Bridge, however, they do go across the nearby Manhattan Bridge, below the road crossing. We saw a number of locks attached to the metal frame of the bridge, which are left as "love locks", as symbols of romantic commitment. Apparently this practice started around 2009, whereby couples inscribed their names on padlocks, attached them to the bridge, and often threw the keys into the water to signify their love was "unbreakable". However, this tradition has led to safety concerns and damage to the bridge, causing the city to remove thousands of locks and fine people for adding them. Many people only walked up to the mid point of the bridge before walking back to Manhattan, however, we continued walking across to Brooklyn where there was noticeably less people on the bridge in this latter section. It was a beautiful sunny day during our walk, which we enjoyed very much, stopping often to take photos and admire the fantastic views from the bridge

The Brooklyn Heights Promenade is a picturesque tree-lined walkway that offers stunning views of the Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge, and the iconic Manhattan skyline. This hidden gem provides ample walking space and benches for visitors to relax and take in the breathtaking scenery. The promenade also features historic mansions on one side, adding to its charm. From this vantage point, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of Lower Manhattan, including the World Trade Center.
Incredible pedestrian walking path over the Brooklyn Bridge. Unbeatable views of the city. Bring some water with you on hot days. There are people in the bridge selling hats and other small souvenirs. We also saw a couple people who will take your photo and print it out or airdrop it to you for a small fee. We took advantage of this and got some cool pics for just $15. There’s some history of the bridge in the middle at one of the arches. There’s also an area where people have tied hair ties to this bridge as a safer alternative to the love locks. There’s also bridge is a little over a mile long so wear good walking shoes and have a great time! There is a slight incline at entrance and exit and then it’s pretty even once you reach the highest elevation.

One of the stunning places overlooking the East River offering panoramic views of NYC skyline, Brooklyn Bridge and Statue of Liberty. Visit in the evening to enjoy the view at sunset. This pedestrian walkway stretches from west end of Remsen street to the west end of Orange street with access points at Montague street and Pierrepoint place, Clark street and Pineapple street. There is a park for kids called Pierrepont playground for kids at the entrance of Pierrepoint place. The promenade has wheel-chair accessible entrances. It seems to be a favorite destination for walkers, joggers and for people to capture their special moments like engagements and weddings.

ABSOLUTELY Gorgeous view of the sunset! Captivating view of the NYC skyline! One of my fav spots to sit and watch God’s creation 🤩😍🥰 🌇

Incredible view from high ground overlooking Manhattan skyline, East River, Brooklyn Bridge, all the piers. The Brooklyn Heights Promenade, also called the Esplanade,[1] is a 1,826-foot (557 m)-long platform and pedestrian walkway cantilevered over the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway (Interstate 278) in Brooklyn Heights, Brooklyn, New York City, United States. With views of Lower Manhattan's skyline and the New York Harbor, it came about as the byproduct of competing proposals for the highway's route that were resolved in the midst of World War II. Actual construction came after the war. As a structure built over a roadway, the Promenade is owned by the NYCDOT and is not considered a park; however, NYC Parks maintains the entire Promenade. The Promenade runs from the west end of Remsen Street to the west end of Orange Street and can additionally be accessed from Montague Street and Pierrepont Place and the west ends of Pierrepont Street, Clark Street and Pineapple Street.

Right above the BQE, overlooking Brooklyn Bridge Park is the Brooklyn Heights Promenade. It is an elevated walkway with some excellent views of the Manhattan skyline and the park below. There are plenty of park benches along the walkway. No bike riding allowed.

Great place to catch the sunset inbetween the city skyline and statue of liberty! Also a great view of the Brooklyn Bridge. Nice walking path and lots of benches.

Brooklyn Bridge Park is a must-visit urban oasis in New York City. It offers shaded picnic tables, hibachi-style BBQ grills, and stunning views of the river. The park is part of the iconic Brooklyn Bridge walk, which provides some of the best views and photo spots in the city. Walking through Brooklyn Bridge Park and DUMBO allows visitors to enjoy unobstructed views of the skyline and both the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges.
Brooklyn Bridge Park is one of those places that makes you stop and appreciate the city from a whole new angle. The views are incredible—looking out at the skyline, the Statue of Liberty, and of course the Brooklyn Bridge itself feels almost surreal. The park is beautifully designed, with plenty of spots to relax, walk, or just take it all in. It’s also easy to get around, with clear paths and different sections that each have their own charm. Whether you’re there for a stroll, photos, or just to sit and watch the world go by, it never disappoints. More than just a park, it feels like a front-row seat to New York’s magic. Definitely a must-visit.

If you are in Downtown Brooklyn visit DUMBO. You will enjoy the beautiful cobblestone and Brooklyn Bridge picturesque view. The water view is gorgeous. There are eateries and food trucks that are pretty good. Merry go around for children there is a fee. Diverse and eclectic neighborhood. Great place for romantic walks, family, and friends. Ideal place to take awesome pictures 📸 Parking is scare best to take train or bus. Pet friendly

Adorable spot to watch a sunset and let your kids play in the park. You are close to everything but feel removed from the hustle and bustle. It's beautifully landscaped too.

Perfect view of the Manhattan skyline. Perfect for photographers, lovers and tourists. On a clear day, anyone can take great photos of the river, the skyline and the bridge itself. There is seating and a few food vendors. And you get an up-close view of the ferry as it launches and lands right next door.

Brooklyn Bridge Park is truly a hidden gem in the city. It’s very easy to reach, with multiple subway stations within walking distance, making it super accessible. Once you’re there, you’ll find it surprisingly quiet and offering fantastic views of the entire bridge, the opposite side of the river, and even the Statue of Liberty. It’s just a wonderful park, and I’ll definitely be visiting again.

Beautiful park with chill city views of Lower Manhattan! The breezy and calming nature paths make it perfect for a relaxing walk. Enjoy street vendors and local stores for a quick bite, and take a break in one of the many quiet seating areas throughout the rehabilitated piers. Pro tip: get yourself a hot coffee or cold brew at the nearby 0% Arabica

Brooklyn Bridge Park is a stunning stretch of waterfront that blends sweeping skyline views with green spaces and lively energy. From its piers, you can take in the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges, wander along landscaped paths, or just sit by the East River watching the ferries go by. Whether you’re here for a stroll, a picnic, or sunset photos, it’s one of the city’s most scenic and refreshing escapes

Watching the 4th of July fireworks from the park was truly an unforgettable experience! 🇺🇸✨ The atmosphere was filled with excitement and joy as families, friends, and strangers all gathered to celebrate together. I arrived early to find a good spot, and it was totally worth it — the view was perfect, with a clear line of sight to the stunning fireworks display. The park itself added so much to the experience — it was spacious, clean, and full of positive energy. People were picnicking, playing music, and enjoying the warm summer evening while waiting for the show to begin. Once the fireworks started, the entire sky lit up with vibrant colors and synchronized bursts that were absolutely breathtaking. There’s something magical about watching fireworks under the open sky, surrounded by a crowd that’s just as amazed as you are. It felt like the perfect way to celebrate Independence Day. I’m already looking forward to doing it again next year!

Nestled on the outskirts of Brooklyn's expansive Prospect Park, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden is a 52-acre haven boasting over 14,000 plant species from diverse climates. Visitors can explore a Japanese garden featuring serene waterfalls and tea houses, vibrant rose gardens, and an interactive children's garden. The annual cherry blossom festival is a hit with families. With weekly events and educational programs for adults, there's always something new to discover in this urban paradise.
Beautiful place, lots to see. We enjoyed perfect weather and walked through most of this large garden. A lake with Japanese garden, roses, rock garden and many other beautiful flowers and trees. Bonsai collection is nice. Good small cafe to eat lunch. Highly recommend to visit!

Beautiful botanical garden. After missing a layover at JFK and getting trapped in NY for a day, this was a wonderful place to visit. The "100 Years of Bonsai" exhibit was superb and all the garden is wonderfully well kept. I will definitely visit again next time I miss a flight.
Andres M — Google review
I love the garden. Even though I’ve visited a few gardens over the years, this one (luckily my local one) is the best. There are lots of hidden treasures, quiet paths, and lawns to relax on, plus flowers, trees, and bushes from all over the world. You can easily spend a few hours or the whole day here. There are plenty of birds, animals, and beautiful statues scattered throughout. Nature heals. Make sure to stop by the “gift shop.” It was updated a few years ago and now looks state-of-the-art.
Jane K — Google review
One of the most beautiful gardens in NYC. You can spend hours here. It is very large and has a lot of different sections and exhibits. There are specific sections that closes earlier than the botanical garden itself, so you want to do your research on what you want to see. This is just one of the things you should see if you are in NYC.
Erik Z — Google review
You ever have a friend who got a little too into plants. Give them half a Billion dollar endowment and this is what you'd end up with. It's educational, sure, but it's breathtakingly beautiful at the same time. Great way to spend an afternoon in Brooklyn.
Brian L — Google review
Great anytime of the year if you enjoy nature or plants. The light show is also beautiful but definitely try to see the Botanic Gardens in the day. If it weren’t for the constant sirens of NYC, you could almost forget that you’re in the middle of Brooklyn as it’s such a serene and well maintained space. Bonus points because I can use Culture Pass with my Bk Library card to visit for free!

First off, they have amazing customer service. Everyone I talked to was helpful and kind. Even in the colder fall weather, there was still a lot to see and enjoy. My highlights were the Shakespeare Garden and the Bonsai room. As an educator, I appreciate all they have for students.

Over the weekend I visited the botanical garden in Brooklyn. From the start the city fades away: it’s quiet, well kept, and full of greenery with neat walking paths. The routes are easy to follow—take a short loop or wander longer and pause in the calmer corners. I loved the mix of open areas and wilder-feeling spots; it feels outside the city even though you’re still in it. Overall it felt clean, intentional, and relaxing. I left feeling inspired and refreshed—a great weekend escape without the hassle.

Prospect Park, Brooklyn's answer to Central Park, was designed by the same architects and boasts similar attractions. The park features lakes, boathouses, zoos, and a picturesque trail called the Ravine with its own waterfalls. Inspired by the Adirondack Mountain range in Upstate New York, this area of the park offers a serene escape within the city. Visitors can explore a 3.
Prospect Park is a true escape from the hustle and bustle of New York City, nestled right in the center of Brooklyn. Often overshadowed by its more famous counterpart, Central Park, Prospect Park offers a similarly stunning natural retreat—but with a fraction of the crowds. That’s what makes it so special. The park is immaculately clean, filled with expansive green spaces, shaded areas that offer a break from the summer heat, and beautifully maintained walking paths. Whether you’re looking for a peaceful solo walk, a family picnic, or a fun day with children, this park has something for everyone. There are several playgrounds scattered throughout the park, making it an ideal destination for families with young kids. One of the highlights is the Prospect Park Zoo, a charming, small zoo with a surprisingly wide variety of animals. Tickets are reasonably priced—around $11 for adults—and the experience is well worth it. Another favorite among children is the carousel, which brings old-school joy and nostalgia. A ride costs only $3, and the smiles on the children’s faces are priceless. What truly sets Prospect Park apart is its peaceful atmosphere. You won’t find the overwhelming crowds or endless streams of tourists here. Instead, you’ll find space to breathe, relax, and enjoy nature at your own pace. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, I highly recommend setting aside a few hours to explore this Brooklyn treasure. You’ll leave feeling refreshed, inspired, and maybe even a little more in love with New York City.

Came to see the movies in the Park, Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Weather was amazing! They give you these like lawn chairs but it’s on the ground, you can keep them, easy to carry. Free popcorn, seltzer water and T-Shirts. Very nice for the kids to run around while getting some fresh air. Sound was good to the speaker tower placement and no bad seats. Movie stared around 7:40, waiting for the sun to go down. Everyone was peaceful and cleaned up behind themselves after the movie was over. Did I mention, it was free? Can’t go wrong. Movie ended about 9:45 and walking back through the park, good lighting. No worries but again, I wasn’t alone. Good evening.

Absolutely love prospect park! It’s so beautiful and large. It has many pleasant areas to sit and watch people and animals. It’s super peaceful and serene. Wonderful bike and hiking trails. A must for natives and tourists alike:)
Christine E — Google review
This park is very spacious, clean and perfect for walks or other family and friends activities or just looking to detach yourself from the busyness of city life. Its proximity to the train station and nearby cafes and restaurants make it attractive too. So if you’re visiting Brooklyn or looking for another alternative park other than Central Park, this is the place to be.
Francesandfrancis — Google review
Very nice escape located centrally in Brooklyn. Walking through it you can experience peaceful rural areas, or see Brooklyn’s diversity in the more crooked areas. It’s a bit dirty in spots, and difficult to keep up with cleaning due to the amount of people that visit the park. Great for a run, bike ride, or simply to relax at. The restrooms are very limited, and only the one on the large building is somewhat passable. The other one on the west side near the playground is less cared for, as is the other two in the center and East side.
Rollinover — Google review
A great place to enjoy nature and the outdoors, with expansive, beautifully landscaped green spaces and paths ideal for walking or cycling. The atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing, making it an enjoyable experience for all ages.
Ammar H — Google review
I visited a couple of weeks ago, right as fall color peaked. I grabbed a coffee and wandered the winding paths in Brooklyn: leaves crunching under my shoes, trees shifting from gold to deep red, and that crisp, clean air. There’s room for everyone—you can stroll by the water, sit on a bench, and watch the foliage reflect on the surface. What I liked most is how the city noise fades into the background, leaving just the wind and a few quiet conversations. There are big open lawns for relaxing and tucked-away corners if you want solitude. I spent a few hours there and left clear-headed—a perfect spot to soak up autumn.

Really beautiful park but the area around on the Q train side (prospect park/Parkside stops) can be a bit rough and homophobic Cute cafe open at the boathouse by purslane but they do often have private events so it can be hit or miss. Other new cafe is open at the lefrak center

Italian restaurant
Restaurant
Lilia is a converted auto-body shop in Williamsburg, owned by the renowned chef Missy Robbins. The restaurant offers wood-fired Italian cuisine and housemade pastas, along with a selection of cocktails. The menu showcases a variety of dishes inspired by different regions of Italy, such as sheep's milk cheese filled agnolotti with saffron and dried tomato, and black bass with salsa verde and coal roasted potatoes.
Lilia is an outstanding modern italian restaurant. I would rate it 4.5 stars, and rounding up to 5 this time because we ordered one of the dishes a second time. The agnolotti is to die for. Perfectly balanced and very rich and complex. We also enjoyed the focaccia and the little gem salad as appetizers. The prosciutto was okay, and the arancini were also only okay. Mafaldini pasta was good. The italian job dessert was good but we expected better from all the hype. Would come back, lovely place, and great setting.
Bianca R — Google review
I usually hear people going before they open to get a table, and was so excited that I was able to reserve online! The staff were nice and helpful with deciding our orders, and we were glad that we did not skip on the focaccia! I was way too full afterwards, so I think the 2 of us could’ve just gotten one pasta instead of 2 (or just one appetizer)!
Vicki — Google review
The Rigatoni was solid. But the Mafaldini lacked flavor. The Agnolotti was the star of the show. The fettucini ragù was flavorful but it was a lot of noodles and not enough sauce. We also ordered a rib eye steak that came out cold and rare, which had to be sent back. Overall this place is average, but overhyped. It’s a 3/5 stars and that’s an honest review. And I’ve eaten at hundreds of Italian restaurants.
Gaetano D — Google review
Such a friendly staff and a beautiful space—busy but not overly loud, which made for a comfortable dining experience. We didn’t realize both the ramp butter and chicken liver dishes came with huge pieces of bread. It would’ve been helpful if our server had mentioned that so we could’ve balanced our order a bit better. I usually love chicken liver, but the plating here—with a greenish-brown piping—was visually unappetizing and made it hard to enjoy. The pastas were nicely cooked, but I didn’t love the texture of the mafaldine with peppercorns—it had a gritty bite that was distracting. That said, the Italian Job gelato was absolutely life-changing. I came in with low expectations because, well, it’s just gelato—but it completely blew me away. Easily one of the best bites I’ve had all year. I’d come back just for that and to explore more of the menu. Definitely worth trying if you’re curious about the hype.

A delightful place to spend an evening. It was packed on a Tuesday. Turnover of tables was brisk. The quality of the ingredients and the cooking was excellent. As ridiculous as this might sound, one of the truly outstanding dishes we had was Roasted Ramp Focaccia with Ramp Butter. Yes, the bread. Sensational. The prawns were as fresh as can be & the chicken cooked to perfection. Service was excellent - you get what you pay for. Highly recommend.
Chris P — Google review
Great food and service in a very casual but eclectic setting. There were a couple misses for us but overall absolutely delicious fresh food and we will definitely return. Mozz and bread is a large portion but absolutely worth trying. Cheese was soft and flavorful and bread was thick and crusty. Little gem salad as pretty to look at as it was to eat. Grilled artichoke, I probably could have eaten 5. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. Bagna Cauda was a miss for us. The anchovy dip was overpowering and I think I just didn’t understand the dish. We tried the agnolotti based on our server’s recommendation and so glad we did. Soft creamy pillows of deliciousness. Spaghetti also delicious, pasta was al dente with texture from the nuts. Escarole was another recommended dish and it was very good and a nice side. The lamb steak was our other miss. It was cooked well but if I didn’t know I was eating lamb I would have thought it was a bland steak. It had no gamey lamb flavor. We didn’t know but will try next time that there is an off the menu steak and potato dish you can order. It looked and smelled amazing. This restaurant serves unpretentious delicious food, can’t wait to return and try more options.

Overall a great dinner! The food was very tasty...the pasta was perfectly al dente and the wine was amazing. Service was timely and kind. Ethiopian restaurant
Bunna Cafe is a lively Ethiopian restaurant located in Bushwick, offering a unique experience with its vegan menu and vibrant atmosphere. The cafe provides an affordable dining option with their generous feast meals, featuring a variety of flavorful dishes such as gomen, shiro, and butecha selata. Originally starting as a pop-up and Smorgasburg vendor, Bunna Cafe draws inspiration from Ethiopian culture and its love for coffee.
I had some business in the area and want something to eat and thought about Bunna! I had no reservations and had about a 20-30 minute wait on a Saturday night. I am now convinced this is the BEST Ethiopian place for great vegetarian food! The place was packed even as late as I arrived. Very warm and accommodating staff. The food was so on point! We ordered drinks as well and just as amazing as the food! It is a little out of my normal area but I will surely go out of my way to get back here again.

This was my first Ethiopian cuisine experience and I loved that they don't give you utensils for the full effect! The food isnt really a looker if you're not into pureed food, but the taste was delightful! Highly recommend and for any vegans or vegetarians craving some hearty food. I have gone 2 times now and they are just as good! The interaction (bread) they have is tangy and slightly sour.

First time trying Ethiopian food and I’m glad it was at Bunna Cafe because this place was stellar! Absolutely loved the ambiance, service, and most importantly the food. They start you off with a free plate of popcorn to snack on while you wait for your food which was so fun. Also, I happened to be in during their weekend Bunna Coffee Ceremony so I had a complimentary cup of the Bunna. It was very strong, spiced, and rich, with a prominent ginger undertone. Adding in the brown sugar cubes opened up the flavor so much. Delicious! I tried the Lentil Sambusas which were super crispy. The filling inside was fine but adding on that cilantro lime sauce really tied it all together! There was a subtle spice too that I enjoyed. For my main I went with the Beyaynetu Meal which was the 5 scoop option. I kinda wanted to go for the 7 scoop Feast to try more things but I’m glad I didn’t because the 5 scoop was very sizable for one person! I tried the Enguday Tibs, Shiro, Misis Wot, Yater Kik Alicha, and the seasonal option which was an Eggplant and Walnut Deberjan. WOW!!! Everything was so insanely flavorful and worked well with each other. I think my two favorites were the Shiro and the Yater Kik Alicha. Soooooo so so good I could eat a whole bowl of just those.

Unfortunate that I finally found a go-to/favorite Ethiopian place in the city a few weeks before going home for the summer. It took some time to get here but I was very committed to procrastinating my homework, and if you're an ethiopian restaurant offering me a vegetarian combo there's really no limit to how far I'll travel for that. I got the feast for two (though I am only one. Next night dinner. It's called being smart) and apparently they offer this to go in a pizza box which is very smart and fun however I worried it would be clunky for the subway so instead I got a million containers of greatness. My photographs as always are of dubious quality, but rest assured the food was not. The injera, thank god again, was sour, I hate when it's bland but this was far from it, the perfect vessel for all of everything. I don't know all the names of the dishes but I loved everything I ate. The mushrooms stood out, I love gomen, the split peas and red lentils were doing their thing, something was spicy and idk what it was but it was ASTOUNDING I say really the whole meal I was just thrilled with so I had it again that weekend and loved it just as much. When I picked up my orders both times! The person working was friendly and warm and unbelievably kind, I'll have to dine in next time because I imagine the service is top notch. I'm going to enjoy my summer away from the easy coast but I will say, this spot will be on my mind and I'm looking forward to being reunited with the greatness that is Bunna Cafe.

The food is good, but the portions are too small. I paid $21 for this. Is literally like sample sizes and the worst part is you’re not going to get full because the portions are very small. I feel like I could’ve went to chipotle or any other vegan place in New York that gives you a nice portion for like $12 or $15.

I have gone here occasionally over the past several years and the food is always wonderful. I went today for lunch because it's Sigd and I wanted vegan food. The kale was amazing. The others really tasty too.

From the moment I stepped into Bunna Cafe, I was completely charmed. Tucked away in Brooklyn, this all-vegan Ethiopian spot radiates warmth and culture, and an inviting, communal vibe. They even host an authentic Ethiopian coffee ceremony in the evenings, which adds to the immersive feel. The staff was wonderful, warm, welcoming, and happy to answer questions about the menu and traditions. We kicked off our meal with Kategna, a crispy, toasty injera snack paired with Daata, a spicy side sauce that delivered just the right amount of heat. Simple, but incredibly satisfying. Next came the highlight: the Feast. It’s a platter of injera topped with vibrant scoops of various stews and vegetables. Each one was distinct, bursting with flavors. The crimini mushrooms were earthy and umami-rich, the lentils hearty and beautifully spiced, and the collard greens brought a fresh, slightly tangy contrast. The Shiro, a spiced chickpea stew, was deeply comforting and packed with flavors. Honestly, it was impossible to pick a favorite. Every bite felt thoughtful, nourishing, and made to be shared. I sipped on refreshing Hibiscus tea throughout the meal, which was the perfect complement to the bold, warming flavors. Bunna Cafe is a celebration of Ethiopian cuisine and culture. Fun, flavorful, communal, and deeply satisfying. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Come here for brunch!!! The food was absolutely bonkers! Portions were also great for the price, two of us split three dishes and both had leftovers to take. Both of us really enjoyed our teas as well. The service was quick and kind and the vibes were wonderful with the music in the background. Highly recommend!

Restaurant
Olmsted is an American restaurant located near Prospect Park, offering a unique dining experience with its backyard garden where chef Greg Baxtrom grows fresh produce and herbs for the menu. The New American cuisine features inventive dishes that change with the seasons, utilizing in-season produce like heirloom tomatoes and English peas. Olmsted was one of the best meals I’ve had all year. From the super unique Carrot crepe, to the *incredible* Grilled NY Chicken. Every menu item from the snacks to the entrees/dessert, was incredibly delicious and unique. Our server was incredible and gave the best recommendations. 10/10 experience, can’t wait to return!

Olmsted has always been one of my most favorite spots in Brooklyn - the food is always inventive, delicious and nourishing. Was so sad to hear it’s closing so came back one last time to enjoy the seasonal menu. Absolutely loved the food and can’t go wrong with: grilled scallops with blueberry and corn, grilled chicken, carrot crepe, and the squash rings. And omg will be thinking about that garlic leek sauce and the sourdough bread for ages to come :) Seriously going to miss this spot around the neighborhood

Today was our first time at this restaurant. My husband and I walked in by chance and found it to be a gem! I can't believe how authentic they are. Thank you so much for everything. The food was incredible, as was the service and atmosphere. We will definitely be back.

An Exceptional Dining Experience! I had the pleasure of dining at Olmsted recently, and it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere set the tone for a truly enjoyable meal. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, striking the perfect balance between professionalism and friendliness. The food was absolutely outstanding. Every dish we ordered was beautifully presented and packed with flavor. The grilled NY chicken was cooked to perfection, and the heirloom tomato schnitzel was the highlight of the evening. You can really tell that they use fresh, high-quality ingredients. What stood out most was the attention to detail—from the thoughtfully curated menu to the elegant plating and prompt service. It’s clear that the team at Olmsted takes pride in what they do. Whether you’re looking for a romantic night out, a family gathering, or a casual dinner with friends, this place delivers on all fronts. I’ll definitely be returning soon!

What a great service and cocktails. We got Carrot and Mint, see menu photo. First drink had crunchy tri color carrot cubes on a stick it was delicious. Second drink was topped with dots of olive oil and strong but yummy. As a non drinker I was happily buzzed:) Single bathroom with vacant/occupied mechanism lock on door yay. Crab rangoon with kale wasn't mindblowing our batch did not have much kale flavor But the crab flavor was umami especially at the end of the crunching. My favorite was probably the scallops with the corn. Sweet corn with blueberry sauce and i forgot the other sauce the server described, but it was great. The scallops had topping shaved serrano pepper added a heat I LOVED :) Grilled chicken was 3 way: pulled, grilled, fried. We didn't love this dish the pulled was too salty, grilled was tender but bland in our opinion, fried was just crunchy and that's it. We did love the grilled broccoli rabe on top that was our fav from this dish. There's also white cran raisin on the bottom as well it was interesting, but THE CHOCOLATE MOUSSE WITH VANILLA WHIP WAS HELLO YUM O CLOCK.

You had me at "S'mores" --Talk about nostalgia! Ok, let's start from the beginning! From the moment we arrived at Olmsted, we knew we would be in good hands. The railroad-style intimate restaurant boasts a lively ambiance in a yet intimate setting. We were seated right in front of the action, where the modest yet mighty kitchen quickly sent out some of the tastiest, innovative, and well-crafted dishes, along with refreshing cocktails to match. We got to meet the chef/owner, who was on site himself, bringing his creations to life along with his team of chefs -- it reminded me a bit of the show "The Bear," which, if you haven't yet seen, is worth checking out! For cocktails, we had the Snap Pee—a gin-based drink that was creamy, velvety, and refreshing, making it the perfect summer drink to indulge in on a hot summer day. We had the Rhubarb — a vodka and bourbon fusion cocktail, and the Carrot — a mezcal, carrot, and lime blend — that prepared us for the dishes to come. All the cocktails were delicious and refreshing, so you can't go wrong here! They also have a fantastic wine menu. I loved how the food menu was divided into three sections: Snacks, Appetizers, and Mains. We tried a few dishes from each section. For snacks, we had Sourdough Bread accompanied by a green garlic hollandaise sauce. The sauce was rich and creamy, with tangy flavors that lingered in your taste buds —my favorite! We also tried the Chicken Liver Mousse, which, to my surprise, came with a side of pickled green strawberries. I had never had pickled strawberries before, so this was an unexpected and surprising treat! The strawberries tasted like pickles, and the mousse was light and airy. The combo provided just enough acidity and balance to the dish. From the appetizer section, we had the Kale and Crab Rangoon and the Summer Squash Som Tom. Both appetizers were delicious in very different ways. The Kale and Crab Rangoon was crunchy yet fluffy, and the crab melted in your mouth in a dream-like, savory way, while the Summer Squash Som Tom felt very light and refreshing, featuring shaved zucchini, herbs, and a fantastic Thai vinaigrette. The Cauliflower Okonomiyaki is also worth a try! The warm dish reminded me of the Spanish tortas my mother used to make on Sunday mornings. We had an amazing dinner, but my favorite part was dessert! We opted for the S'mores, and to our surprise, we were led to a lovely patio area at the back of the restaurant, where we sat alfresco with a mini roasting pit, a bar of Hershey's chocolate, and marshmallows. The setting was the perfect way to end our Brooklyn adventures as we DIY'ed our S'mores under a canopy of Brooklyn stars.

We came for the 9 year anniversary, the food was good but the service was horrific. We had a 7pm reservation and didn’t get a drink until 7:34pm. Our table was never cleared. Entrees arrived and we didn’t have share plates or silverware. The carrot crepe was cold and must have been sitting at the pass for awhile. The fluke crudo was room temperature :( I’ve loved this place for so long and left incredibly disappointed for how much we spent for a very subpar meal at an old favorite. Maybe some things are meant to be left in the past.

Wow! I had such an incredible time having dinner at Olmsted. I was sat at the bar where I could watch the kitchen prepare our foods and it was such a nice touch to my friend and I experience. We tried a variety of dishes and loved all of them. Some standouts were the Fava bean falafel (I need the whipped calabrian honey in a jar), the carrot crepe and the rutabaga tagliatelle. Sooooo gooood!! The service was incredible Alex was very knowledgeable about the wines and helped us choose our cocktails which we loved!

Steak house
Takeout Restaurant
Peter Luger Steak House is a renowned cash-only steakhouse located in Brooklyn, known for its old-school charm and top-quality USDA prime beef cuts that are dry-aged in-house. Since opening nearly 40 years ago, it has earned a reputation as one of the best steakhouses in New York. While famous for its porterhouse steaks, the menu also features options like lamb chops, grilled Atlantic salmon, and prime beef rib steaks.
Lunch at Peter Luger in Brooklyn was nothing short of phenomenal. I ordered the steak for one, accompanied by the creamed spinach and the legendary apple pie, and every bite was perfection. The steak was beautifully charred on the outside, tender and flavorful inside, truly the kind of cut that reminds you why this place has been an institution for over a century. The creamed spinach was rich and perfectly balanced, and the apple pie… simply unforgettable! comforting, crisp, and decadent all at once. A special mention must go to Denise, who made the experience exceptional. His warmth, attentiveness, and effortless professionalism elevated the entire meal. He struck that perfect balance between friendly and polished, making me feel genuinely welcomed and cared for.

We shared one steak and also got their sundae which was huge! We got our steak medium and it was pretty good. We made sure to drizzle the meat juices on the meat as well. The server served us each a slice of the steak in the beginning which I thought was pretty cool. It also explained why most of the google review photos didn’t have a fully intact steak lol. The sundae was a must-try for us- they’re known for their whipped cream. However, the ice cream itself didn’t taste like anything special. There was just a LOT of hot fudge and whipped cream. It was good but also got sweet/heavy fast. It could definitely feed four. The server showed us how to eat it which is to stick the entire long spoon into the sundae and pull up lol but it was so big. Surprisingly the milk chocolate coins were really good imo. Oh and I don’t think they take credit card (it’s written on the menu) so make sure you bring a debit card or cash. If you are celebrating a birthday or something, we did see them sing happy birthday to a couple tables.

Brilliant! Love the crazy busy vibe, the old school charm and the fantastic food. Started with the awesome bacon and a cedar salad, both perfect. We hit steak for 3 between the 3 of us and it tasted wonderful but was easily enough for 5! The PL fried potato was nice and tasty. Cheesecake and Holy Cow fudge sundae were both fantastic and massive and the side of cream was enough for days and days!!!!

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Peter Luger Steak House in Williamsburg, and it was incredible! The rustic old-time charm adds such a warm touch. Eric, our server, was amazing, attentive, kind, and even surprised us with an anniversary treat. We had the Steak for Two with baked potato and fries, perfect portions and absolutely delicious. Finished with the chocolate mousse cake and homemade whipped cream, which was the perfect ending. A true New York classic worth every bite! 10/10 recommend and can’t wait to return!

Everything was absolutely perfect at Peter Luger. The steaks were flawlessly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The meat was beautifully seared on the outside while perfectly juicy and tender on the inside. The house beer was top quality and complemented the meal wonderfully. Overall, it was an excellent dining experience that I would highly recommend. Ps.. cash only is a little bit down side as I dont like to travel with to much cash in my pocket.

This was a bucket item place for me. I didn’t know if I would ever have a chance to eat here. Reservations were easy through their website but plan ahead the time slots are taken up and it can be difficult to get in here. The staff are very welcoming and knowledgeable about their food. We did arrive about 30 minutes early for our reservation and the staff were gracious enough to fit us in with under a 10 minute wait. We ordered the Sizzling Bacon and tomato and onion appetizer. Both were phenomenal. Side note, the bacon slices are very big. We ordered 1 a piece and that was 1 too many. We started with a Cesar salad that was great. Then for our entree we had steak for two. We have different preferences for our doneness and the restaurant was able to accommodate that without difficulty. For dessert she had the chocolate mousse cake and she was impressed. Peter Leugers is a world class steakhouse and is on many people’s list to try. It’s worth it if you’re given the chance. Very important-they only accept cash or a Peter Leugers card.

Even with a reservation, we waited about 30 minutes standing in a crowded corridor before being seated — and our table ended up being right next to the restroom. The hygiene standards were disappointing: staff handled cash and then served food without washing hands, and several aprons looked noticeably dirty. The food itself was good, but the overall experience did not match the expectations.

We visited as a group of three — two women (Two women who usually have small appetites) and one man — and ordered the steak for two, baked potato, tomato and onion, and spinach. The portions were generous, and we left feeling very full and satisfied. Our reservation was for 5:45 PM on a Tuesday evening. Although getting to the restaurant during rush hour from Manhattan was a bit challenging and the location was somewhat unusual, it was absolutely worth it. It was the best steak I’ve ever had, and the high price felt completely justified. Everything we ordered was delicious, and the place was quite busy. I would definitely visit again.

Wine bar
The Four Horsemen is a trendy wine bar and restaurant in Brooklyn, co-owned by James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem. Since its opening in 2015, it has become a favorite spot for natural-wine enthusiasts. The bar offers a laidback yet elegant atmosphere with a diverse selection of 250 natural and biodynamic wines. Guests can enjoy small plates created by an experienced chef while listening to a genre-blurring soundtrack curated by the former LCD Soundsystem frontman.
One of my favorite meals in NYC this year. Every dish was a dream. We ordered the oeuf, green tomatoes, fennel salad, tartare, mushroom toast and rainbow trout. Latter two were our favorites. The passion fruit tart dessert was magical. The best part? The wildly inventive wine list that paired perfectly with every bite. Service was great and homey, intimate setting was wonderful. Expensive but worth it for a special occasion.

This restaurant is overrated, and I honestly don’t understand how it has held a Michelin star for several years. It’s definitely not worth the price. The portions are tiny, the flavors were either far too salty or overly acidic. Despite spending over $200 for just five dishes for 3 people , none of us left feeling satisfied. On top of that, getting a reservation here is unnecessarily difficult. For the same price, we had a much better experience at Theodora, which doesn’t even have a Michelin star but served food that was both delicious and filling. Save your time and money—skip this place and go somewhere else.

I enjoyed Four Horsemen, but it didn't blow my mind for the price. If I went again, I'd stick to the small plates so I could try more things. The chicken was good, but not great and it was huge. Their menu changes on a regular basis, so you can't be sure what you're going to get. Nothing I had was bad. Wagyu crostini and harimasa (not pictured) were my favorites. I arrived at 10:45am, and waited for them to open at 11. A line formed quickly, and it's a slow process for them to seat everyone in their tiny space. If you can't get a reservation, show up as early as you can.

This spot delivers thoughtful cooking with moments of brilliance, even if consistency is not perfect. The bread is excellent, and the crudo was bright and well executed. The oeuf mayonnaise with squid ink and caviar felt disjointed rather than inventive. The fennel salad refreshed the palate nicely. The little gem salad lacked creativity. The beet dish stood out, made richer and more layered by brown butter. Meat courses were handled with care. The tartare had bold yet balanced flavor. The sirloin came perfectly cooked with a flavorful sauce, though the anchovy butter felt unnecessary. Seafood ranged from forgettable to impressive. The halibut did not stand out, while the Boston mackerel was full of character with a great fry. The uni risotto was the most refined dish of the night. The mushroom crostini had depth, although the bread was too firm. Desserts were excellent. Worth a visit, especially for those who like to explore a variety of plates.

An excellent operation with a chill vibe and a creative menu, taking amazing meals up a notch in unique ways. The Tartare Crostini is well formed and very flavorful, the salad’s cream and seasonings took some mixing up to get used to but that was good. Brown butter Crab with bread was great, and my two favorite starters the Grilled Octopus and the Seafood Rice. The octopus had perfect char and a sweet delicious taste paired great with the egg. The Seafood Rice was a great blend of fish stocked rice and cold fish as a topping. Then the Pork Collar, I loved this it’s a perfect preparation. Great portion with a beautiful seasoned top layer and a wonderful fatty center. We didn’t care much for the side, which for a dish this pricey you’d like solid side as a base but this gets a pass. Lastly to finish off the Panna Cotta was straight up great, safest dessert option.

Michelin star wine bar? Yes pls! But people come here for the food. Impossible to snag a resy but worth waiting for a walk in spot at lunch or before dinner service. Vibe cozy and cute. Food was amazing! Small menu but basically every dish was a hit. Also the wine selection was well curated. Verdict: recommend and will return!!

The Four Horsemen - finally 😊 My husband and I have been devoted LCD Soundsystem fans for years, so the fact that James Murphy co-founded this place has always made it feel like a small dream waiting to happen. We’d been postponing it for weeks, as life has a way of reshuffling plans, but this time my husband said, 'This is your birthday and that’s it. We’re going.' I agreed ;) The restaurant itself is small, understated, and effortlessly elegant. The interior has that kind of simple chic that feels authentic: warm wood, soft light, no pretense. We didn’t have a reservation but decided to take a chance, and after waiting about thirty minutes, we got a table right after 5:20 pm The menu is tiny, almost minimalist, but every dish feels deeply considered. We weren’t too hungry, so we ordered a few small plates and a bottle of wine, saving room for dessert and hoping for a candle later. And the food… oh, the food. I’m not sure words can do it justice. Every bite was a perfect balance of acid, sweetness, and texture. I’m from wine and vinegar country, so I truly appreciate the taste of acidity and here, I finally found a place in New York that speaks to my palate. Their flavors don’t fade the moment you swallow; they linger, evolve, and make you think. I couldn’t help but notice almost everyone around us was ordering their famous warm bread, it looked absolutely divine. But since I bake my own bread at home and had already had a fresh loaf that morning, we decided to skip it this time. Still, it clearly seemed to be the must of the evening, and I’ll definitely try it on our next visit. The wine list is impressive. We chose a French white that was absolutely balanced, bright, and beautifully alive (and no headache after!). And the desserts… I’m still dreaming about the passionfruit cake, so light, tangy, and joyful. I was especially happy that nobody from the staff sang 'Happy Birthday.' ❤️ As for the staff, 'perfect' doesn’t even begin to describe their service. They have that rare ability to make you feel both taken care of and completely at ease. The atmosphere, the music, the people, the vibe: 10 out of 10, or maybe 100 out of 100. To Be Continued :))

Not a single miss. Everything was standout, flavors are thought provoking. For 2 people we shared the mushroom toast, fennel salad, bread, hiramasa, pork collar, and halibut. Toffee pudding for dessert. Portions are smaller but with this order we left full. Service was excellent especially for recommending wine.
