Tulsa

Tulsa is a city on the Arkansas River, in the U.S. state of Oklahoma. It’s known for its art deco architecture, mostly in the central Deco District. Landmarks like the Philcade and Philtower buildings reflect a 20th-century construction boom fueled by the prosperous local oil industry. The Philbrook Museum of Art is housed in an Italianate villa that was once the home of a local oil magnate.

Garden
The Philbrook Museum of Art is housed in a stunning Italian Renaissance-style mansion surrounded by 25 acres of beautiful gardens, making it a unique and picturesque destination in Oklahoma. The museum boasts an extensive collection of over 16,000 American, Native American, and European art and objects. In addition to its main location, the museum also has a satellite facility called Philbrook Downtown, which opened in 2013 and focuses on Modern and contemporary art as well as Native American art.
Come to visit as I had been very intrigued in the art pieces. I had to come and take a look for myself. I was not disappointed from the inside the atmosphere was very inviting and everything was very well organized. The ambiance and timeless pieces were picturesque. I absolutely enjoyed looking at all the modern pieces. And let’s not talk about the outdoors wow. Absolutely magical. The scenery and the tranquility that exudes in this whimsical garden is something worth coming for. The lush and perfectly manicured gardens with the peaceful sound of the fountains I almost didn’t want to leave. The Gardens were a special treat to walk around and enjoy some peace and tranquility. I absolutely recommend visiting Phil brook art museum if you’re in the area.

This is a grand mansion art museum in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The grounds are inspiring! My favorite is the swing under the giant oak tree. The sun streaming in my face through the leaves was memorable. The art is interesting to view while having a relaxed visit. We bought some goodies in the gift shop. We ate before arriving, but there is a cute little cafe for lunch.
Roxann H — Google review
This was an absolutely beautiful museum and garden. I spent about 4 hours wandering around looking at all the paintings and gardens. There are many areas you can have a picnic or relax and there’s something for everyone.
Johannah C — Google review
The art and temporary exhibits are great. My favorites are the mansion and the amazing gardens. The gardens are beautiful in spring and summer, but are great in fall and winter too. The staff plants over 22,000 bulbs every year.
Lisa O — Google review
Absolutely stunning building, the museum alone is a stunning structure that houses a lot of different art styles and even their garden is a stunning exhibit of art and beauty. Absolutely worth coming and spending a couple of hours here, well worth the drive. Staff were super friendly and plenty of signage and very clean.

This place was so beautiful! From the art to the garden. They have something for all ages. Definitely will be coming back! It would be a great place to take wedding photos’

Philbrook is always an amazing day. The art is beautiful, they are kid friendly and the gardens are gorgeous. They always have fun holiday activities, their staff is kind and they also have discounts for entry for low income families.

The beautiful mansion and grounds, especially the children’s play area, were a highlight of our visit. The gardens were the most impressive feature.

Gilcrease Museum, located just 10 minutes from downtown Tulsa, is a renowned institution showcasing an extensive collection of art and artifacts from the American West and Native American cultures. The museum boasts over 10,000 works of art, including 18 original bronze sculptures by Frederic Remington. Visitors can explore large-scale masterpieces depicting the American landscape and delve into an unparalleled anthropology collection. Additionally, the museum features interactive exhibits that offer insight into the history of the Americas.
Absolutely incredible museum! I can’t wait for it to open soon.

We visited in late April 2024 and walked around the grounds. The museum was closed, and the northern part of the grounds are closed off for construction. But we were able to walk around the southeastern part of the gardens. It looks a bit neglected now since they aren't expecting many visitors, but they may be prettier when everything is open again.
K O — Google review
Definitely worth a visit at least once. The museum is great, but the gardens and park don't get their due. A must see, the pictures do them no justice. The only disappointment in the gardens are the pre-columbian and Pioneer gardens, they need some attention. As for the museum, they've got several play corners for kids and an entire kid-focused exhibit down stairs. The masterwork and permanent collection of western and Native American art was stunning and interesting. It was great to see the bronze sculptures and the gigantic paintings. Recommended.
Brian F — Google review
Some of the gardens were fantastic. It was so Peaceful there. The museum was great it had a large variety of paintings, photographs and sculpture. It's the best place to go to learn about art. Your kids will love it there. They have some activities today we made time capsule and it was soooooo fun. I would highly recommend this place.
Durgga M — Google review
Great museum filled with Native American relics. We spent about 2 hours inside and wandering around the gardens. My boyfriend actually learned quite a bit about his ancestors. I loved the landscaping and the different themed gardens from all the ages. Definitely a must see if you’re in Tulsa.
Kaylin B — Google review
Very nice museum and worth a visit. Artifact room on lower level has more artifacts than you could look at in a day with a wonderful interactive e-guided tour via a tablet you can carry with you as you go through this section. Upstairs has visiting exhibits and some wonderful bronze work by artists such as Remington. There are wonderful paintings and the gardens are beautiful and peaceful. Great place to spend a morning or afternoon. The current Pulitzer prize exihbit is very intense, you might not want to take small children through it. But do see it. It will move you.

Loved this little museum. Was lucky to have visited when they had free admission and an outdoor concert. Definitely a must on any Tulsa visit bucket list
Mark T — Google review
The Gilcrease has a jewel of a collection I try to bring to the attention of non-Oklahomans. The Remington and Russell sculptures are a great set. There's a lot more range to the art, as a whole, than one expects. Many of the American West paintings are great postcards of the period, forerunners of the action art/illustration of modern times. Visit the awesome landscapes. Stand in front of Moran's massive Shoshone Falls, just close enough for it to fill your sight, and feel the vertigo and splendour. There's a good interactive exhibit downstairs, a great glass-walled hall, and lots of things going on.

Zoo
Zoos & Aquariums
Tulsa Zoo is a vast and educational park that offers a wide variety of animals, including African lions, Australian kangaroos, South American jaguars, and Malayan tigers across 84 acres of wild exhibits. Visitors can enjoy attractions such as the Safari Train, carousel, Giraffe Experience, Chimpanzee Connection, African penguin exhibit, Lost Kingdom, and Helmerich Sea Lion Cove.
Cute zoo. Nice flow walking through the park. It’s not overly big. I liked that there was many inside options for hot weather. We were able to walk through zoo in a few hours. Zoo was clean. Had a pleasant day visiting even in the 90 degree weather. Enjoyed feeding the giraffe too!
Mandy W — Google review
We are members at the zoo. Currently they are remodeling a large area of the Africa exhibit. It's still a good time and lots of fun. We loved the dinosaur exhibit this year! The playground is lovely as well. They have multiple play areas for all ages and abilities.
Megan D — Google review
Even though I don't like to support animals in captivity, we wanted to bring our son to the zoo for the first time! We arrived at 11:00am. They stopped taking admissions at 12:00 for hallZOOeen. So we had to be out by 1:00pm. We did go through some of the exhibits rather quickly to ensure that we would get to see it all before we had to go. But honestly, we were ready to leave around that time anyways, so it worked out perfectly. From what I could see most of the animals were very well cared for. Some of the inside enclosures looked like they needed some care..... There was a tiger pacing a foot bridge above us and that was a little alarming & I was sad for the bear. It just seemed a little sad but maybe it was just nap time after it had its lunch. My favorite was the monkeys (inside) but it was hard to find space to squeeze in and see them. There were lots of families posted up there, staying for awhile. So we weren't able to get pics with monkeys but that's ok! We got to see them feed the big turtles! My son absolutely loved the giraffes! We all did! And there was plenty of space to hang out and watch them awhile, even though there were lots of families. It was a good day & the weather was perfect. We will definitely come back and spend some more time. Or maybe even come to hallZOOeen! They had it decorated really cute for Halloween so I can only imagine it was much better to experience at night and with all the kids in their costumes!
Jennifer V — Google review
This was fantastic! The zoo is nicely laid out, the staff is helpful and kind (most of the animals are too). We had a great time, there is a big area to cover but with benches and rest stops everywhere it's easy to do it all.
Kaldaus B — Google review
The zoo is always a nice place to take a day trip too. If you are in the area for any reason you should go and spend the day there. They have a train ride. Dinosaur exhibit. Children’s playground and petting zoo. There is something for everyone to see. They are currently doing some construction on some of the exhibits. I’m still excited to go back when everything is completed.
Amy G — Google review
Love this place. Great Family fun . Right now they have a dinosaur exhibit. It looks pretty awesome. The employees are friendly and knowledgeable. Besides all the awesome animals there. We have a cool playground in the middle of the zoo. . The kids absolutely loved it. And so did I.

Had a fantastic time at the Tulsa Zoo! The upgrades and the new Elephant Barn is amazing! We spent 4+ hours walking around. We went on a Monday and it was not busy at all! Double stroller is cheap to rent, $10. We brought our own food and drinks so I’m not sure about prices of food and drinks. There is a lot of construction going on but didn’t hinder our time there at all! Will be back!
Karly A — Google review
Maybe it was the weather or maybe it was all the trees but this Zoo is fantastic. Animals we saw out. Snow leopard Jaguar Tigers Arctic fox This was really a treat and we got a nice morning walk in. Perfect for kids as well.

The Woody Guthrie Center, located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is a museum dedicated to the life and legacy of the renowned folk singer Woody Guthrie. It houses original handwritten lyrics of his famous song 'This Land is Your Land' and features the Woody Guthrie Archives containing his writings, art, and songs. The center also provides information about the Dust Bowl era and regional history displays. Visitors can engage with interactive exhibits such as a lyric-writing station and a listening station.
⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ We had an amazing experience at the Woody Guthrie Center today, thanks to a phenomenal tour led by Sam Flowers. He brought the stories of Woody Guthrie and Bob Dylan to life with such charisma, passion, and depth. His knowledge about their relationship, musical legacy, and contributions to the film The Complete Unknown was incredible. Sam is a gifted storyteller and a powerful speaker—we were completely captivated from start to finish. If you have the chance to take a tour with him, do it. This was one of the highlights of our visit!
Jessi B — Google review
Sam is absolutely the best! The monolog he delivered prior to the Woody Guthrie movie was exceptional! He was so friendly and full of history and resources. The Center has so much to engage with. Interactive stations, poetry, sketches. Brother Guthrie would definitely not be happy with the choices and treatment of humanity that is occurring in our nation. We were also blessed to catch the Hip Hop America-The Mix-Tape Exhibit. When I tell you!!!!! This one is for the culture. A beautiful beautiful space to celebrate fashion, music icons and Black women! Also, so nostalgic listening to beats and bopping my head! The history and stories in the lyrics of rap music. Seeing our icons; Tupac's & Biggie's clothing and Lil Wayne's writings. Such a special addition to the center.
Jessica W — Google review
I had first learned about Woody while watching A Complete Unknown and expected to have a good time here! But it ended up being even more incredible than I imagined. Woody’s legacy is one worthy of preserving and is well preserved here. I loved how they used his drawings and the inclusion of the hip-hop exhibit. Very friendly staff and beautiful exhibits! Adored the movie props, too.

Must go to in Tulsa!!!! This museum was one of the most engaging, interactive and educational that I have been to. Sam greets you at the front with a smile and welcome. You definitely need 2 hours to get through everything, even though it does not look large, it is packed with great content about Guthrie’s life and era. Highly recommend.
Hannah R — Google review
We went here to check out the Hip Hop exhibit which I liked but if you are interested in Woody Guthrie you will love it! The information on the dust bowl was educational especially the VR part. It is right down town so tons of stuff to do in walking distance. We had to pay to park in the bank for$10 but it's close. Parking is limited downtown
Sharina P — Google review
It was great to learn more about Woody Guthrie. The Dust Bowl VR was awesome! He lived thru so much and wrote & sang all about it! A must do when in the area!
Irene E — Google review
Really enjoyed the museum! The staff were super enthusiastic and informative. Several interactive portions, including a VR recreation of the dust bowl. Gift shop was a little pricey, but it’s going to a good cause.
Amelia H — Google review
The Woody Guthrie Center was the highlight of our visit to Tulsa. The Center covers the life and work of Mr. Guthrie along with the history of the Oklahoma Dust Bowl and plight of those who went to California during the Great Depression. The museum features Mr. Guthrie's music (of course) as well as his writings and art. But the best part of our visit was Sam. Sam greeted us at the door, started the introductory movie for us, then met with us periodically during our visit to highlight certain exhibits. Without Sam, we would not have fully appreciated the meaning behind the works of Mr. Guthrie. Make sure to put on the virtual reality goggles and watch Black Sunday unfold before your eyes. Mr. Guthrie wrote "So Long, It's Been Good to Know Ya" about the Black Sunday dust storm. The Woody Guthrie Center is next door to the Bob Dillon Center, in the heart of Tulsa's Art District. Very highly recommend!

Gathering Place is a sprawling 66-acre riverfront park located along the Arkansas River in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Opened in 2018, it offers a wide range of attractions for both locals and tourists. The park features sports courts, a skate park, pedestrian and bicycle paths, various gardens, a beach area, and a pond where visitors can rent paddleboats, kayaks or canoes.
Can we talk about a PARK?! I have NEVER been to such a well-planned, beautiful, extensive, interactive park. There is so much to do for families, from water play, to sand, to engineering play, but it is not only done well from an experience level, but it is beautiful. The paths, the textures, the different levels, and the variations in the plants all show the time and dedication that was put into making this space so amazing. Restrooms are clean, many water fountains in each of the different spaces, and multiple opportunities for children to climb, slide, and run. Parking is ample, and close to the different spaces. Definitely would suggest bringing water bottles and quarters for the fish food dispensers, and sunblock. The splash pad suggests water shoes, we didn't have them, but if we went back I would bring them. Love this park!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nastassja W — Google review
Probably one of the best parks i have had the pleasure of going to. My husband and I have been meaning to go here for a while and decided to go this weekend. There was so many people but honestly the park is huge enough that it was still beautifully peaceful and you can find quiet areas to enjoy and see nature. There is so much to see and do at the gathering place and I love that you can kayak or paddleboat as well. I love the attention to detail in the seating areas and that you are encouraged to feed the fish with feed sites. We will absolutely be going again. Thank you for such a beautiful park I highly recommend it.
Bunnay B — Google review
We drove 5 hours to come spend some time with our kids at this amazing park and we loved it! The heat is brutal during the summer but they have a cooling area so you can continue your journey throughout the park. I recommend bringing lots of water and some snacks. There's so much to discover!
Nely R — Google review
I heard lots about this park when visiting the city, so I finally stopped by and wow, this place beat all expectations. By far one of the most impressive city parks with amazing design and tons recreation options. Definitely worth a visit, something for everyone here!
Tony I — Google review
This place is fantastic. The fact that it us men made blows my mind. You can easily spent 4 hours here, kids will have a blast exploring, lots of space for picnic or walk your dog. They have a little cafe, kayak and boat rides. If this place is on your way- do yourself a favor and stop by.
Maria S — Google review
We visited Gathering Place for the first time this past weekend and it was fantastic! The grounds are beautiful, the playground was exciting and unique, and everyone was really friendly. We were there on a Monday, so it wasn’t too busy, but a Saturday might be a little bit overwhelming. It’s clearly a popular place.
Christina B — Google review
The Gathering Place is a well-maintained and welcoming park. I enjoy bringing my niece here, as well as going for runs along the river and around the Zinc Pond. The staff does an excellent job keeping the park clean and safe, making it a comfortable environment for both families and solo visitors. It’s a beautiful and peaceful place to spend time outdoors.
Mallory F — Google review
The Gathering Place is truly a gem — an incredible park designed with all ages and abilities in mind. From sandy playgrounds to unique swings and towering slides, every inch of this space is thoughtfully created to spark joy, imagination, and adventure. It’s the kind of place where you can easily spend an entire day and still not see everything. We brought a toddler, a wagon, plenty of snacks, and drinks — and we’re so glad we did! The park is massive and full of surprises around every corner. It was incredibly hot when we visited, so we’re already planning to come back in the fall to explore the areas we didn’t get to this time. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, make sure the Gathering Place is on your list. It’s a must-see destination for families, nature lovers, and anyone who enjoys beautiful outdoor spaces.

Bull In The Alley is a speakeasy-style steakhouse located in the Arts District, offering an elevated American dining experience. Unlike traditional steakhouses, this hidden gem has no signage or social media presence, adding to its mysterious allure. Once inside through the discreet entrance, guests are greeted by a sophisticated and intimate setting with a central bar and elegant booths. Additionally, nearby The Tavern offers delectable brunch options and indulgent tasting menus at the Chef's Table.
Wow wow wow! What a TREAT! My husband and I celebrated our 9 year wedding anniversary here this weekend and it was incredible. David, our waiter, along with the bar staff were so kind, professional, attentive, and overall had us leaving absolutely cared for! Everything we ate was seasoned and cooked to perfection; we had no problem choosing our entire meal thanks to David’s thorough introduction! What you see- Lemon Drop (I had two) shaken to perfection, of course the hand cut bacon, caesar salad that was incredibly light and refreshing- not a cream base here! A vinegar based dressing that was Devine!, followed by the 8oz filet, Brussels loaded with fixings, potatoes Egan and creamed spinach. Not pictured was a giant slice (not sure Alice is the correct word- perhaps quarter!) of their chocolate cake that was so rich and a wonderful way to end our evening. Truly and evening to remember!
Ashley M — Google review
I RARELY give out 5 start and some establishments are very close but not quite. Bull in the Alley isn't near a 5 star. Good but overpriced. Being a hardcore foodie, I will pay good money for a good meal. This place has been a local hype for a while so we finally broke down and tried it. Service was decent, hovering at points while we were talking (2 couples) but I would rather have that than someone non existent. My wife and I shared a wedge, oysters Rockafeller, Brussel Sprouts, and the tomahawk. The steaks are very tender. Portions are large so sharing as a couple or table is easy. Oysters were small but good, no disappointment there. They also do cut up the portion for two, bringing out the order on two separate plates so that was a plus. Great detail on this as sharing portions can be a pain sometimes. Overall, the meal was good but did not match the price point. The steak alone was $210. With a tip we were just over $400 for the two of us. Again, very tender and a good cut but not what I would consider a $210 steak, definately not a $400 meal. I have favorite steak houses and restaurants from Coast to Coast. Unfortunately, Bull in the Alley wouldnt make the top ten. Good food but you're paying for the ambiance and the speak easy reputation. If you want something romantic, something niche, worth a try.... Too many other options for this to be a go-to or first choice for me.
Jeramie O — Google review
Amazing atmosphere here! Strange to me that they don’t have a cocktail menu- they do have an extensive wine list though. Live music was very nice. Great for a special occasion as the menu is small and pricey. Food was very good but we were hoping for more creative options beyond steak and fish.
Emily H — Google review
So. We went for our anniversary, not the best place for something like that. Definitely prefer Flemings or somewhere like that for that occasion but I’m glad we tried it! i love the entrance, it feels very discreet and mysterious at first, i love the inside as well. The service, we had a great waiter. He had great recommendations and conversation, he made our night very enjoyable. 10/10 Now last but not least, the food! Personally for us, we were NOT impressed with the crab cakes. Also wasn’t impressed by the tomahawk, howeverrrrr, That lobster bisque 😳😳😳😳 PHENOMENAL! That bacon also!!!! For me I just wanted to try the place, but for the lobster bisque and bacon appetizer, I’d go back just for that!!!!!! Best lobster bisque in town I’d say.

Wander down an alley right in down town Tulsa and you may just stumble upon this lovely gem. Never thought a speakeasy steak house would exist but I am far from disappointed. The drinks were lovely but the star of the show was the porterhouse steak. Cooked to a perfect medium rare the flavors melted in your mouth. An honorable mention for the brussel sprouts that were perfectly seasoned and crispy. Along with the lovely food and drinks, the staff were attentive ensuring everything was to your liking. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a good steak house right in the city or even just drinks!
Eleanora D — Google review
We an and amazing and enjoyable evening. The food was cooked perfectly, and service was exceptional. We will definitely be returning often.

What an absolute hidden gem! David was our waiter and he literally took their menu and described the items in a way that brought them to life! The menu is one page, but the items they have are off the chain. We will go here again for sure!

Wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary here. Everything from the food to atmosphere to the service are like nothing we have ever experienced. Event venue
Nestled in a historic building with retro decor, The Vault Restaurant is a casual bar and eatery offering American dishes and craft cocktails. Housed in a former bank with striking features like huge panes of glass and a unique zig-zag roof, the restaurant exudes an atmosphere reminiscent of classic American dining. With a focus on playful comfort food, The Vault presents an extensive menu that includes vegetarian and vegan options for both lunch and dinner.
One of my favorite meals in a long time!!! Spinach and heart of palm dip is a must, with touch of spice and creaminess out of this world. The macaroni and cheese is to die for and would be amazing one a cold winter day. The tomato bisque is also delightful with a hint of spice and the auto bank salad is light but flavorful. We finished our meal with 24 karat cake, which is a simplified version of carrot cake without the raisins. More like a spice cake.

The Vault Restaurant was a great experience. My family and I were here for brunch. Great Mimosas and a great meal! I had the salmon with the poached eggs on a bed of spinach and ciabatta bread and some cooked potatoes. It was really good. Very delicious. The patio is very nice!, overall just a really great place to take a date or your family or whatever the occasion is. Thank you so much for the great service and the great atmosphere. We will see you again!

Wow, what a fun little place! We were just in town for the night and walked in without reservations, they graciously accomodated us at a cozy little side table, (read really close together). Appetizer of spinach dip was very good with both chips and bread slices. Dear husband got a Cobb salad with fried chicken on it that had beautiful pink eggs! Loved that touch. My Steak Frittes were perfectly cooked and delicious! The prices are very reasonable for what you get. I was mesmerized by the waiters carrying food up this amazing spiral staircase. Seems like they have 2 rooms and a patio they serve on. Enjoyable!

First of all, Jesse and Katie, our waiters, deserve special commendation. But the food is impeccable here: I had the clipper chicken (pictured) and my friend had the potato-crusted salmon (pictured). And the cocktails — my god, the cocktails — are amazing. A-mazing. The space is also gorgeous.

We stopped here before going to the Paul McCartney at BOK arena. I think everyone there was also going and they were very busy but still managed to get us our food and drinks in time. The waitress had so many tables but did her best to make sure we had good service. The food was great, good cocktails in vintage glasses. The whole 60’s /70s vibe is fun and our table was even the old counter that you use to fill out deposits at the bank. We really enjoyed it!

I cane across this restaurant by chance. Fun fact, it used to be a bank and it was converted into this little eatery. The vibe is bright and welcoming despite the name being The Vault. Very mid-century themed and the staff was great. My server Talice, it was her first day working alone and she was a absolute gem of a human being. The food was fantastic, and I'm really grateful to have stumbled upon this place. The next time I find myself in Tulsa I am coming back.
Ronnie L — Google review
The Vault in Tulsa is such a fun spot! The vibe makes you want to linger, sip, and soak it all in. We ordered the Bank Teller Pasta, and it was comforting and flavorful, though I’d personally add a bit more sauce and salt the noodles to really elevate it. The presentation was charming, the service genuinely friendly, and the atmosphere lively without being overwhelming. I definitely want to come back to try the brunch menu, it sounds just as tempting as the dinner offerings. Overall, a solid meal and a great experience, I’ll happily return to see what other hits I can discover!

Awesome place, cool vibe, not sure if it was our table's distance from the kitchen, but my food was delivered cold. We still ate it, we had a play to get to at the PAC. It was good food, just not very warm at all. Cool place though.

Nestled in the vibrant Brady Arts District, The Tavern is a charming neighborhood pub that perfectly blends a relaxed atmosphere with an upscale dining experience. This inviting spot specializes in New American cuisine, showcasing locally-sourced ingredients and innovative flavor pairings. Diners can indulge in elevated comfort food classics like mac and cheese or fried chicken, alongside more refined dishes such as seared salmon and cauliflower Bolognese.
This feels like a very high-end restaurant, and some of the meals are, but there are also reasonable ones. It was about $30 per person, but it could be $50+ no problem. The food was awesome, and I found Double Shot Coffee because of this place. I would've never expected such great tasting coffee at a tavern. The service was great, and the waiter had my same name! I highly suggest going for a laid-back nice restaurant.

It was just okay. I wouldn't spend the money or make reservations again for the food. It was good, my partner didn't like the food. The server was nice but couldn't hear us and spoke softly. Then halfway through the meal, they dimmed the lights but it was so dark one table had to use the lights on their phones just to read the menu and decided to leave. We finished only because we had already ordered. The spicy bloody mary was delicious!

Really awesome spot to relax and be cozy! Loved everything about the vibe, service etc. just felt like the quality of the fries/sides should have been better. Burger was great but for the type of place it was we were expecting a little more. Not saying it was bad at all! The food was delicious. The fries tasted normal though.

We enjoyed our meal and drinks at The Tavern in downtown Tulsa. Strip steak and fries for two was cooked perfectly. We were welcomed right before closing and not rushed at all. I did tell our host that we eat fast and tip well. I’m glad we stopped for dinner at the Tavern. Great experience.

The Pork Chop was tender and well seasoned, though I thought the portion of the dish could have been bigger. The Korean BBQ sauce lacked the Korean taste (rice wine vinegar and prominent Korean chili paste). The creme brulee was good though not a personal favorite. I love ordering pork chops when I dine out; this was a good dish but I think I'll request a different starch to fill me up the next time I visit The Tavern. I sat at the bar on a Saturday evening where I was greeted immediately and had good service.

So, I’ve eaten a lotta crème brûlées in my life. When I see one I’ve never had, I do my best to eat it. So today The Tavern’s Biscoff Crème Brûlée showed up on my instagram feed, and I knew I had to go try it. Deadass this might be the best crème brûlée I’ve ever had. I mean, it’s good enough I immediately said “I’ve gotta leave a review, this is THAT good.” So yeah, come to The Tavern and eat the Biscoff Crème Brûlée with the ridiculously delicious cookie butter whipped cream topping.

I’ve always considered this place a Tulsa staple, but hadn’t been in a few years. My food was delicious. I had the deviled eggs and the tavern burger. My burger was cooked well done instead of medium, but it was so good that I didn’t mind. My partner felt that they could use a change of fryer oil, but otherwise enjoyed his meal. The atmosphere and presentation were great. It’s a little pricey, but we expected that since it’s a nice environment with quality ingredients. I took a few points off of service because I felt that the servers were giving better service to the obvious rich people in the room, like we weren’t as good as them. The manager did not treat us that way. Overall I enjoyed my experience because the food and atmosphere were so great.

Very comfortable, relaxing restaurant with excellent food and service. In an old building, with a classy decor inside that makes for a great dining atmosphere. We were there right after the lunch crowd had cleared. Food and service were excellent. The turkey sandwich and the fish and chips were delicious. The turkey sandwich was enormous. The shoestring fries (their signature side) were perfect. When I walked out I was full, happy and relaxed. I was really surprised; I didn't expect such great food and service from a place called "The Tavern."

Steak house
Nestled in Tulsa's vibrant Arts District, PRHYME: Downtown Steakhouse is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates the art of fine dining. This chic establishment redefines the classic steakhouse experience with its modern decor and an impressive selection of prime-grade steaks that are cooked to perfection. The ambiance is both sophisticated and intimate, making it ideal for special occasions or a romantic dinner.
It's one of the best Steaks, I've eaten out. I stopped ordering steak because most are disappointing, but the Prhyme Ribeye was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious! The Stuffed Chicken Breast is fantastic bursting with herded goat's cheese and crispy skin. Crab cakes were very good & topped with a very tasty Jicama Slaw. The Orange Bread Pudding was good but not as good as my bread pudding. The French press coffee was the perfect finish and quite delicious. Our waiter was very helpful, and he offered helpful suggestions. He was perfectly attentive without being a pretentious helicopter. Service overall was what should be expected when the dinner for two can quickly reach into the $200-$300 range with alcohol. Our overall experience was very positive and very enjoyable. I highly recommend!

*Review for bar side only* I arrived on a Monday for their happy hour, which you have to because it fills up early. There was already a line when I got there 10 min prior to opening and they filled up within 10 minutes afterwards. Thank goodness they have seating at the bar top and bar tables. It was only me and I sat at the bar top. They have certain drinks and food on special prices for happy hour. It did take a minute for the bartender to attend to me because of the high volume of people that just came in but they did at least acknowledge me. I started with a strawberry kiss cocktail & it was very good. I went with the beef medallions with arugula. (Which on Monday happy hour is half off) I asked for Pittsburgh medium rare style & they said they’d tried. It did not come out that way but they still were able have the correct cooking temp. Nonetheless, it was very delicious. The arugula & mushrooms also cooked perfectly & was a complimented the medallions wonderfully. I then finished it off with another drink, basic gin gimlet, which was done well. Food and service was great. My only issue with my visit was, while I was finishing up my dining experience. The manger came to ask if would move over to one of the empty seats that was on either side of me. Which I did so that I didn’t seem like a jerk but I do like some space between myself and other guest. Their policy is that you have to wait in the waiting area for seats to open up in bar area. Well I understand the business aspect of it but also the guest visit should be more of a priority. Especially since I don’t to get out often because I’m usually at my job in a restaurant; and to ask a guest to move is very inconsiderate. Even when I worked at a fine dining restaurant, we never asked or even allowed to ask a guest to move even in the bar area. Where I’m at now it is a very last resort and even so I’d get a round of drinks or something for the inconvenience. But other than this, I would recommend & would return.

First time here and it was overall a good experience. Our waiter was really attentive without being overbearing, he was knowledgeable about food and wines. The food itself was good, my wife’s steak wasn’t cooked as requested but still tasted good. The charcuterie board was large but overall a let down and no one told us what was what so you’re kinda just guessing items and the bread was stale. The dessert was really tasty and the wines were delicious. The worst part is the atmosphere in my opinion, my wife said it seemed like a hotel restaurant without knowing it’s connected to a hotel which we found out later on haha. We would definitely go back but for $300 for 2 people it wasn’t quite as expected.

We had a lovely dinner at Phryme for our last night in Tulsa. The service was great from the moment we walked in til we left. The ambiance was nice and intimate. We ordered a variety of appetizers to start. With most of the items being seafood, I opted for the tenderloin beef with mushrooms. Wow, it was amazing and the mushrooms were so delicious. When it came time to order our steaks, I wanted the same mushrooms they served from the tenderloin appetizer but, instead, they served large portabella slices with a deep red wine base. It was fine but I really wanted the other mushrooms. Overall, everyone seemed to enjoy their dishes and drinks. I ordered a refreshing mocktail since it was super hot outside. It was great! Definitely one the best eats I had in Tulsa.

My wife and I ate here for our anniversary and it was spectacular. The service was great,we had reservations and were seated promptly. The waiter recommended a wine that is now the only wine my wife will drink (sour gal) it’s a very sweet wine almost like a Riesling. I ordered the lamb and it was absolutely perfect,my wife ordered the chicken and she enjoyed it very much. It was a wonderful night,a very fine dinning experience.

My husband and I recently hosted a celebration of life dinner at Prhyme in one of the private dining rooms. Everything about the experience was fabulous! The food was great, and the service was professional and attentive without being intrusive on our dinner party. The pre-planning staff could not have been more accommodating and friendly. Our whole family loved the experience!

While waiting for our luggage the other day, Olivia spotted an advertisement for Prhyme Steakhouse…it stood out for its spelling then we saw the images and it looked tasty so we called and made a reservation…we thought we’d be underdressed but when they called to confirm the reservation they assured me we would be welcome no problem…Again, Olivia surprised me with her palette by choosing fried escargot! I think the live octopus she ate over the weekend was the catalyst for all these new food adventures! Food was delicious, service was great! Our server got into the weeds a bit with a couple of big tables but his peers stepped in and made sure we were taken care of…when our server came back and apologized I told him we wanted for nothing and his team had his back…if you’re in the area, check them out! Olivia had the 6pm filet with potatoes au gratin and asparagus while I had the wedge and French onion soup…

Lowood is a vibrant restaurant located in the East End Village of Downtown, offering a relaxed atmosphere and specializing in wood-fired dishes made with locally sourced ingredients. The rustic-chic space features exposed brick, polished wood, and a large open kitchen connected to a bar. The menu includes flame-kissed seasonal fare, fresh pasta, and an extensive wine selection curated by sommeliers.
What an incredible dining experience! They have a Chefs counter looking into the single line kitchen. The menu is unique while still approachable. The staff was welcoming and we even got to speak with the Chef. Do not pass up this restaurant, such a gem for foodies living in Tulsa!

Amazing tasting menu at the chefs counter made for a great solo dinner. Wonderful, friendly service staff and fun to watch the wood fire grill be maintained throughout the night to spit out all the incredible dishes. For a solo experience, come hungry if you’re to do the tasting menu, probably the perfect amount of food for 2. The best dinner experience I’ve had in Tulsa. Will return next time I’m in town.

If you are looking for the best dining experience in Tulsa Lowood is your place! Chef Bobby is a culinary genius for sure. Each dish is well balanced and has an almost unexpected explosion of flavor. Seemingly simple dishes like potatoes and okra are elevated to a complex layering of flavors that keep you wanting more. Whether you are celebrating something special or simply looking for a great date night, Lowood must be experienced.

Amazing, delicious, superb service!!! We tried and shared several items and drinks and I only have good things to say. The atmosphere & decor are phenomenally cozy & trendy. If I lived in Tulsa I'd eat here as often as I could. I highly recommend seats at the chef's bar to watch the amazing items being concocted.

The staff was the most amazing I have EVER experienced anywhere. We ordered our dinner and it was just delicious! The chef introduced himself to us and complimented us with 3 more of his favorite dishes. Each dish he served up equally as good but completely different from the last. I highly recommend anything on the menu even if you don't know what it is. You won't be sorry you did it! WE WILL BE BACK OVER AND OVER AGAIN.

This restaurant has great curb appeal, as it is located in a charming part of town. Inside, there is a pretty sizable bar which doubles as the perimeter for the chef's kitchen area, two interior dining sections, and a large outdoor dining experience out back. The staff was professional, attentive and knowledgeable. Our waitress was delightful and I observed the rest of the crew being amiable and helpful with the rest of the guests. The food was well prepared and quite tasty. We left satisfied and happy. My only critique would be about the interior lighting. It should be adjusted for a more cozy ambiance, in my opinion. It felt a bit like a diner in the front area-- which certainly does not meet the level of quality this place offers. All in all, Lowood is a true treasure of a place. I will return to sample more of their menu and to enjoy the backyard patio.

Not only does Lowood craft some of the best food you will find in Tulsa, but also it offers one of the most awesome dining experiences you might have in any city. The kitchen sits in the middle of the restaurant, semi-encircled by a shiny gold metal table top and bar seats, referred to as “The Chef’s Counter.” You generally must plan in advance with a reservation but trust me, it will be worth it. We’ve ordered the watermelon salad (spicy but incredible!), Brussels sprouts, mushrooms, burrata, rigatoni, scallop panzanella, and filet with a lobster tail. Every single dish knocked it out of the park and we relished every bite. My only regrets of the entire experience were not ordering everything on the menu and the fact that I do not live close enough to Tulsa to regularly enjoy the Chef’s Counter. I will say with confidence that anytime I make my way back, my agenda will certainly include a meal at Lowood. Bravo!

Phenomenal. Shared a chefs tasting menu with the wife, I added the wine pairing to the experience. Making reservations online is simple, and they seated us immediately as we came in. The waitress was on point all night, with impeccable timing and overall service. Being able to see the kitchen at work, and the team preparing food for the entire room, was a sight to behold. The bucatini was absurdly tasty, strongly recommend that dish. The roasted beets & whipped ricotta was, simply put, the best way I’ve ever eaten one of my least favorite foods. There were loads of complex flavors to help balance everything out, but beets and I are just not friends. Next, the crispy pork belly, could arguably be the star of the show. The accompanying salad was a bit too reminiscent of the previous dish (minus the beets), but that maple chili glaze hit the spot. Getting to the main entree, the Churrasco flat iron steak, was worth every penny. The chef preparing the steaks all night was like a detail-driven machine. Exceptionally cooked to a perfect medium-rare with chimichurri on top: the whole plate made us crave the 38 ounce tomahawk we saw resting on the counter. Lastly, the VSOP Gouda dessert plate was unexpectedly wonderful. Breads that morphed into sweet desserts as you added the butterscotch caramel topping (loved the smoked scent of the wood fired focaccia). We also tried the chocolate tort, but favored the cheese plate more (first time for everything). All the while, Pablo poured my wine pairing while giving an overview of each varietal. The bucatini and flat iron steak pairings were really satisfying, so much so that even my wife prefer a glass of the Senorio Pecina to also pair with her steak. He answered all my questions with enthusiasm. The Madeira paired with the dessert dish easily, with huge butterscotch notes tying it all together. Absolutely going back. Prob this time to try the vegetarian chefs tasting menu. The chef in front of us was in charge of preparing those dishes all night, and she got a lot of questions too. Worth every penny. One of the best culinary experiences we’ve ever had together.
