Park
Nature & Parks
Papago Park, located about a 20-minute drive from downtown Phoenix between Scottsdale and Tempe, offers an expansive area for hiking and picnicking. The park is home to the Phoenix Zoo, Papago Golf Course, Desert Botanical Garden, and other museums and attractions.
A must-visit spot while you’re in town! I often travel solo for work and always look for places that are both fun and feel safe—this hike checks both boxes. It’s less than a mile, and once you park, it’s easy to find your way up by walking around the rock. If you’re into taking photos, I highly recommend going early in the morning—it’s peaceful and the lighting is perfect. I tried both morning and evening hikes, and while the evening had beautiful views, it was much busier with engagements, kids, and general crowds. Even if you don’t hike up, the base area is worth a visit—lush with palm trees and a serene pond, perfect for a relaxing walk.

My sister/best friend of 34 years set out on the journey today. It was definitely majestic even with all the chatter that was going. Word to the wise if you go for meditation be sure to find a spot away from folks. That was definitely the only downfall of the day.
Jauthenia W — Google review
This park is definitely always wonderful in nature and peace! It’s an easier park to travel through since your agility level may be beginner yet it’s fun and always memorable. It’s a clean park and a safe one as well. The sunset is my favorite, definitely have been here for 15+ times, and recommend this place to lots of people!
Edis — Google review
This was much needed stop and reflect location. Being out with nature when it was not too hot or cold. Such beautiful views and area. I loved that there were bikers and walkers on the same trails.
Shaunta S — Google review
This is a beautiful, picturesque park with a lot of different amenities! The walking trails on the mountain are easy to do and breathtaking, but even the more common features are in excellent shape! We have utilized the archery range many times, and it’s a neat addition to the area. You won’t be disappointed if you visit!
Stan C — Google review
Super chill with easy trails to walk around and get some nice desert views right next to the city. The Hole in the rock is a fun quick 2 min climb and perfect to catch a sunset or some photos. Stop by if you’re in Phoenix.
Ashwin I — Google review
Absolutely gorgeous park! Plenty of spots to sit and chill with breathtaking views of the mountains. The grounds are clean and well maintained. There are plenty of walking and biking paths, which is nice for a bit of solitude even when other people are there. There are picnic areas, water fountains, and restrooms as well. The famous hole in the rock formation overlooks the park, however it was slightly crowded when I went so I chose not to climb it. It was still pretty cool to see! Good place to kick back and enjoy some fresh air. Parking is easy and close by to everything.
Nicole H — Google review
This was magical, coming from Florida. Did a few of the small loop trails and climb to hole in the rock. First time coming out west can only imagine what larger parks would feel like.

Botanical garden
Nature & Parks
The Desert Botanical Garden, located in Phoenix, Arizona, has been a conservation hub for Sonoran Desert plants and other desert flora worldwide for over 70 years. The garden spans 140 acres and features more than 50,000 plant displays. Visitors can explore various trails such as the Plants and People of the Desert Trail, which offers insights into the lives and culture of indigenous people who have inhabited the area for thousands of years.
This is one of our favorite "happy places"! Friendly staff, beautiful scenery, unique and fun events, educational support for our own plants, and so many more things are what keep us coming back. It has something for everyone. Some of our favorite things so far have been getting married here, enjoying the yearly Boo-tanical Garden with the kids, having regular date days/nights here, and attending their plant sales. The restaurant and cafe are delicious, and the gift shop always has something worth taking home. We absolutely love the Desert Botanical Garden and would recommend to anyone looking for a nice date night, family time, or even just some "me time".
Dakota B — Google review
I’d give this place 10 stars if I could! The Desert Botanical Garden is absolutely beautiful and so well maintained. Every trail and exhibit is thoughtfully designed, and you can really see the care that goes into keeping everything in top shape. The staff were attentive, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable; they were happy to answer questions and share insights about the plants and desert landscape. It’s such a peaceful and inspiring place to explore, whether you’re a local or just visiting. There’s also a restaurant on site that feels like fine dining without being stuffy. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was relaxing, and they cater to a wide range of dietary needs. Overall, it’s a must-visit spot in Phoenix.
Courtney G — Google review
The botanical garden is a must visit. The trails are no lesser than any state park/national park. The gathering tours were really informative. The staff is friendly. Gift store is so beautiful. There are water stations every now and there. Hydration is not all a problem. Loved watching butterflies and hummingbirds in the butterflies trail. Saguaros are unique.
Saisreemeenakshi V — Google review
I was not sure if I would like this, but I ended up loving it. It can be a bit of a walk, but I went in Nov and it was not overwhelmingly hot, but still warm. I enjoyed the cactus and plants so much, they bloom beautifully. Of course they have a lovely butterfly exhibit so worth going to. The shop and restaurant was not to bad, slightly pricey, still nice though. I had a refreshing margarita. I would recommending giving this place a visit, was most enjoyable.
Debbie V — Google review
The Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix is absolutely incredible! I was blown away by the breathtaking views—towering saguaros and colorful cacti create this surreal, almost magical desert landscape. There are so many cool cactuses, from spiky barrels to funky agaves, and I loved wandering the shaded trails snapping photos. It’s super peaceful, like a total escape from the city, with hummingbirds zipping around adding to the calm. The paths are easy to navigate, and the sunset glow on the red buttes was unreal. It’s about $40 to enter, but worth every penny for the curated beauty. I’d recommend it to anyone who loves nature or just wants a chill, inspiring outing. Bring water if it’s warm, and go early for fewer crowds. I’m already excited to come back!
Ellen S — Google review
I love this place! It makes me happy. It gives me time to reflect and regain focus on life. We all have a happy place we go to recharge. This is one of many places I go to feel a sense of peace. I love nature, so this is a great place to visit. It’s also a learning experience as well. Many different types of plants and cactuses. They also have special events. A lot of fun stuff. I enjoy going when it’s cooler out. I make it a me day. Enjoy! 😊
D Q — Google review
I’ve visited multiple botanical gardens around the country, and the Phoenix Desert Botanical Garden is easily in my top 5 best. The layout is stunning, with well-marked paths that guide you through a living museum of desert life. Every section tells its own story—from towering cacti and blooming succulents to rare plants you won’t see anywhere else. The garden is incredibly well-maintained, and the staff and volunteers are welcoming and knowledgeable. Whether you’re strolling at sunset, catching a special exhibit, or just relaxing in the shade of the desert trees, the experience is unforgettable. If you’re in Phoenix, this is an absolute must-visit.
Alessandro R — Google review
Desert Botanical Garden is a fantastic place to visit. There are so many varieties of desert plants, and the massive cactuses are especially impressive. The butterfly garden is also great, with lots of different species to see. If you’re visiting on a hot day, make sure to stay hydrated—thankfully, there are water stations throughout the grounds. The staff are friendly and there’s tons of helpful information about Arizona’s incredible cacti. The entry fee is a bit pricey, but for a one-time visit, it’s worth it.

Lake
Nature & Parks
Tempe Town Lake is a popular destination in Tempe, AZ, offering a blend of natural beauty and urban living. This two-mile long reservoir was created by damming a section of the Salt River and filling it with water from the Colorado River. Visitors can enjoy various activities such as kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, cycling, and fishing around the lake's five-mile circumference.
Beautiful lake, calm and peaceful, great place to walk around or ride the electric bikes. Took a walk and enjoyed seeing people sail, boat or kayak. It was a weekend so we did not rent anything but saw there was a person sitting there as if you could rent a kayak or some sort of water activity. Great place to bike, walk, sight see, or enjoy water activity.

• Review Tempe Town Lake – Endless Fun in the Sun! Tempe Town Lake is the ultimate outdoor playground! Whether you’re renting a scooter, biking, rollerblading, skating, running, or just taking a relaxing walk, there’s something for everyone. You can even rent a boat or a quirky little duck pontoon and spend the whole day out on the water. We always have a blast here and love that it feels clean, safe, and family-friendly. Highly recommend for a sunny day of adventure or a peaceful lakeside stroll. #TempeTownLake #ArizonaFun #Scooters #Siggy_E 💋

Tempe Town Lake is very safe for walkers and runners alike. Please be mindful of the bikers in the area, because there are plenty. The lake is spread out, so you can get your steps/miles in easily. It’s even safe in the evenings, but use proper discretion when alone. There’s also plenty of restaurants and shopping only .25 miles away. Lots of business and lodging.

Tempe town lake is ok, they have rental paddle boats and you can also bring your own board. Swimming is not allowed. Seen a lot of people fishing but didn't see anyone catch anything. On the weekends the atmosphere changes and a lot of people, families, children etc walk around the park and enjoy the views by the water. Be aware that some shady business may be going on.

We went this evening for a doughnut boat ride and had a good time. It was hot but then it got a little cooler the sun went down some and we enjoyed the sunset. It was beautiful! The boat was quite slow but very pleasant. The cost was $140 for an hour. $160 after tax. It fits 10 people. We brought snacks and drinks but no alcohol is allowed.
Lorraine B — Google review
This is such a fun place to go. Especially during the pandemic. Being stuck in our homes for so long it's a nice place to go and get some excersie. Today was a perfect day to go walking. There were a ton of people riding bikes. Lots of families there with canopy's and having picnics. I love that you are able to rent scooters, the family peddle carts. Fair prices for paddle boats, all different kinds. I can't wait to go back and do more stuff there. Also there is A mountain that people hikes on in the same area. Lots of things to keep someone or a family busy.

Performing arts theater
Concerts & Shows
Theaters
ASU Gammage, a historic theater located on the Arizona State University campus, is renowned for hosting various arts performances. Designed by the famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright in the 1950s, it was originally intended to be an opera house for the King of Iraq but was repurposed as an auditorium for ASU after political events led to the cancellation of the original project.
I watched Suffs at ASU Gammage and had an amazing experience! The theatre is beautiful and full of history, and the show was absolutely powerful - great music, strong performances, and inspiring storytelling. The energy of the crowd and the atmosphere made it even more special. I was sitting on the balcony and the vocals and music were clear from my seat! Special mention to the staff at the will call, they were very helpful and kind in answering the queries regarding student discount and availability. The security and organizing team during the show were also extremely nice and helpful. A wonderful venue for Broadway shows in Arizona!

I'm going to go ahead and give this 5 stars, not necessarily because it's deserving, but because I want it to continue to stay the before that it is. Always great staff, wonderful ambience and architecture, parking has become a cluster, and the seats really are cramped. Been to a few productions here, lovely acoustics too.
Sean T — Google review
Incredible venue. Acoustics great & every seat has great view of stage. Volunteers extremely helpful. Catch any show you will not be disappointed. We have seen, Tina, Zagged Little Pill & now & Juilet. Have 2 more shows scheduled can't wait. Great Broadway performances ever time.
Archie S — Google review
I've seen several performances/shows at Gammage Auditorium, and I love this venue. One of my favorite shows that came to Gammage with a stellar performance was Hamilton. And if you're not a fan of traditional Broadway show...never fear...you'll discover a wide variety of shows and performances. We've also gone to Gammage to see The Blue Man Group, The Adams Family, Flashdance, Annie, Wicked, and so many more. Take a peek at what's coming and find something amazing to add to your calendar.
SarahBeth C — Google review
I’ve always love going to see shows at Gammage. It’s a nice venue. Great shows, nice staff, good drinks & snacks plus the seats have plenty of leg room. I’m tall plus wear heels and I have enough room to cross my legs and sit comfortably. We saw Moulin Rouge this time and it was fantastic. Life of Pi the last time, which was amazing.
Jennifer B — Google review
Loved the experience! The seats were comfortable, and I don’t think there is a bad seat in the house. Great refreshments and snacks before the show and during intermission.

A place that has everything! Escapology Escape Rooms, The Keg, Panera, Ice Cream, a splash pad... The list goes on and on. The mall is very well kept with waterfalls, fire pits and plenty of seating. Tempe Marketplace is the best center in the valley, come check it out!

Excellent place for a relaxation. Right from shopping to experiences, restaurants shows and simply walking strolling around. It offers a great sprawling and apple ground for window shopping. Great eateries like panera. First line, as you wish, many stores bed and bath body works. Barns and noble, I think this place is simply amazing. A visit when in Arizona to tempey marketplace is an excellent choice. They light up in the evening, live music and simply a very, very relaxed way to stroll around and let your hair down ample parking, great toilet facilities, grey seating areas. I think everything is only great

Tempe Marketplace is a cool spot right in the heart of Tempe. You’ll find everything from quick bites at fast food restaurants to sit-down fine dining. There’s plenty of entertainment too—Dave & Buster’s, axe throwing, a movie theater, and more. It’s an outdoor mall with great stores like Ross, Old Navy, Victoria’s Secret, H&M, and many others. Plus, there’s plenty of parking, which makes visiting super convenient.

Really walkable plaza with lots of outdoor seating . Great place to meet a friend or shoo solo . Many outdoor events are hosted here . I’d definitely come back . Parking was a breeze .

Nice place. I enjoyed some from yo while sitting in the shade. There are several nice restaurants to either grab a nosh or full meal and adult beverage. The splash pad was a hit for the kids. Loved to hear them laugh as they had fun chasing the water. Barnes and Noble has a nice selection. I loved the plants in the middle of the courtyards.

An enjoyable time walking and browsing the shops. Great places to eat. The misters are great for keeping you cool.
Lisa G — Google review
Love the layout of the vendor tables at the marketplace event last weekend. However, there should be no pets allowed by the vendors or customers. It's a tight space. The vendor who was doing tooth gems had two large mastiffs and could barely hold them. That's also unsanitary considering she is working inside of mouths. Just a thought. Back to it... Tempe Marketplace is lovely overall and has much you explore/do. I always have a great time when I go there.

Hamburger restaurant
The Chuckbox is a legendary cash-only burger joint in Tempe, known for its charcoal-broiled patties and rustic charm. For over 50 years, it has been a favorite among locals and students seeking affordable, flavorful burgers cooked over an open mesquite charcoal grill. The menu features classics like the Big One and the Tijuana Torpedo, as well as barbeque chicken sandwiches.
I’m glad I came to check this place out. This place has a pretty cool old vibe. Their hamburgers are pretty good. They have a “toppings bar” that you get your hamburger and then you go over there to pick whatever toppings you want. That’s kind of cool. I like the concept of this restaurant. All of the employees that I encountered are what I look for when going to a restaurant. This place is right by the campus of Arizona State University, so there is a lot of college student traffic. But, that doesn’t take away from this place. I definitely recommend this place.
Kyle R — Google review
We had a great lunch. Super simple spot with a limited menu that is all good. We tried a few items and I was pleased with everything. The condiments and all add ons are offered up in a salad bar setting letting you build your perfect burger. We live out of town but will definitely be coming back when we pass through the area again.
Chris E — Google review
My nail tech told me abt this place when I told her I was going to Tempe. OMG one of my top 5 burgers in life. The flavor from the wood is AMAZING. Burger isn't salty. It stays busy but the employees are efficient and have it down to a science. Mushrooms were amazing😋🤤 Going bk before I drive bk to Vegas. Make sure you have cash
Tammy U — Google review
I'm so glad I found this place. I came into town for a bjj competition and scoped out good food in Tempe area. Given the copious positive reviews, I decided to try it out. The wood fire smell is what immediately grabbed my attention outside and I knew I was in for a delicious meal. The packed interior also confirmed my decision. The menu is simple, straightforward. I ordered a hot and spicy chicken sandwich, double big burger, and fries. The food is cooked to order and very fresh. The chicken was perfectly cooked and flavorful. The burger was also juicy and had that amazing wood fired taste you can't get anywhere else, closest to a backyard bbq burger but way better. There is an assorment of toppings and condiments you can add. The only negative thing I can say is parking in front can be difficult, but you can find a surface lot a short walk away. Don't hesistate on trying The Chuckbox if you're looking for great burgers and sandwiches.
Charles C — Google review
I think I randomly found this place looking for 4.5 stars and up near the airport. Wow, it’s amazing! They yell toward the back of the line to take your order while you queue and then track all of it by memory and tooth picks, zero order tickets, computer kiosks! By the time you get your to the grill you are gifted with a few minutes to watch the grill, magic and take in the sights, sounds, and delicious smells - then it’s all ready to go. BOOM! Everyone was really nice, friendly staff and customers, and overall a total throwback to what I remember from my childhood in the 80’s. I’d give this place 9 stars if I could it was that delicious. Cash only, so come prepared. They have an ATM if you don’t plan ahead. Sofa king good!
Chris L — Google review
We just happen to find the Chuckbox online. It looked 😎 so we went. The place is GREAT, we loved it. It’s FUN! You stand in line to order which was cool. The guys behind us must have been regulars and they helped us order. They just call you in line and ask what you want. Best order system ever! The gent taking the order just yells to the cook beside him. No paper just a good memory. We each had a burger and shared onion rings. You add your own condiments (see picture). Also awesome. I guess I must I must have order a unique burger so they just added extra stuff. Just fine with me. All the staff were really nice and when they found out travelled 3000 kms they said that was great. Parking - the parking is ok and free! I suggest being there between 1:15 and 3:00 PM. It may not be as busy? We were there at 1:15 on a Thursday and the lunch crowd was just clearing out. We did get a parking spot. Also there was a parking attendant. Food - burgers were top notch and the onion rings, I would go for just the onion rings! My better half thought her burger was a bit over cooked. The decor is rustic. I really like this type of place because it feels homey. The place is very clean and unlike some places they actually come around and clean the tables. One of the fun things is you get to see the cook being the master of the grill. There is also some outside seating. All in all we really liked the place. VERY IMPORTANT: CASH ONLY no EXCEPTIONS. ATM on site.
Arthur L — Google review
The chuck box is a legend among those that know. The food is top notch and the atmosphere is special very laid back on Sundays. However your first time there on a week day can be overwhelming very fast paced . But still all out friendly and pretty fast. The hamburgers are among the best out there and the add on's are simply the best because every step of the way your guiding your food to be excatlly as you want not pre designed NO!!! THEY OFFER THE MEAT AND BREAD ONLY YOU CHOOSE EVERYTHING ELSE. If you have never been make it a point to try. You won't be disappointed. Ps they have onion rings, fries, mushrooms too.
Richard Y — Google review
I’m a burger snob, and I’m almost always disappointment by places that claim to have a great burger. But there was no disappointment here. I was skeptical because the inside feels a bit like a dive, but I think it gives the spot its particular feel. I ordered the basic burger and you get to dress the burger up yourself. I don’t go heavy with ingredients to not overwhelm the burger and bun taste or ratio. I’m telling you, it was perfection. The bun doesn’t fall apart like most places and was the right amount of soft but firm and fresh. The burger was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Can’t wait to come back.

Restaurant
Top of the Rock Restaurant is a New American cafe located in the Phoenix Marriott Tempe at The Buttes resort, offering stunning 360-degree views of Phoenix, Tempe, and Scottsdale. Since 1988, it has been a go-to spot known for its rustic decor and romantic ambiance.
Talk about a Great View! Our meal and service was great. Chris did a wonderful job taking care of us. We were there for my Wife's birthday and we are very glad that we did. We ordered the charcuterie board and the bone marrow to start. Both were well worth it. We also ordered the NY Strip and the Portobello Mushrooms, again these were a great option. Chris brought over a little dessert to celebrate my Wife's birthday, what a pleasant surprise that was. What a wonderful time we had. Great meal, great service and a wonderful view of the City. The only downside was a rowdy group that had a couple of loud individuals and even though there is a business casual dress code there were a few people in shorts, hoodies and graphic t shirts. Not really what you expect to see in an establishment like this. All in all, Top of the Rock has been added to our favorite places to dine.

Took my husband on a dinner date after a work conference we were attending. It was very nice. The food was amazing and the view was breathtaking! The lobster was so tender! And the service was very good too! I will definitely come back when in town. Very beautiful place to propose with the sunset. Or just come for a romantic dinner. Totally worth it and recommend it.

I went to Top of the Rock a couple of days ago to celebrate my mother in law’s birthday, and it was such a wonderful evening! The atmosphere was warm and relaxing, with beautiful views that made it feel extra special. The staff was so kind and attentive, and they really helped make the night go smoothly. The food was amazing everything we ordered was delicious and perfectly cooked. My mother in law was so happy, which meant a lot to us. It truly felt like the perfect spot for a special occasion.

We loved EVERYTHING about this restaurant. We are from Chicago and have very high standards for food & service. We were visiting friends & I found this place while doing research on places to eat as I have a gluten allergy. This. Place. Is. Perfect. The ambiance is beautiful, the staff was very friendly & efficient. I booked our reservations for outdoors as the weather was 83°. And would still be nice into the evening. I wanted to book the time frame so we'd have sunshine, then see the sunset & the lights displayed in the evening all around the restaurant. THE VIEWS ARE STUNNING!!! The staff were attentive and helpful with recommendations. Our food was absolutely delicious! I ordered Seabass with mashed potatoes & asparagus. My hubby had roasted chicken. Our friends ordered lamb chops & the charcuterie board. We throughly enjoyed our evening!! I will return every time I come to AZ. If you visit AZ and it's not too far away you MUST book your resey here.

Incredible restaurant with decadent dining and breathtaking views of the city lights. Definitely a splurge but the food is delicious and plated to perfection. P.S. they served us a complimentary focaccia that was quite literally the BEST I have ever had. Stellar service, a total 5 ⭐️ dining experience.

Nice views, and a good option if you’re in the area. Otherwise, head to the patio on Sanctuary for better views and service. Wait staff was great, but it took the hostess 10-15 minutes to check us into an empty restaurant shortly after it opened for the evening. Also, the teak patio furniture needs refinishing and makes the restaurant look dated. If you’re looking to impress someone on a date, recommend Sanctuary or Wrigley Mansion as alternatives. If it’s convenient and you’re in the area, it’s a nice stop.
Melissa H — Google review
Overall I think the restaurant was immaculately designed with incredibly high vaulted ceilings and lovely interior. The view is subpar at best as most of it just of a high way. Maybe we came on subpar day, but it was Sunday evening and you’d imagine they’d be better staffed and supplied for the meal. Service - the wait staff seemed a bit stretched thin given the large crowd. The gap in between appetizer and our entrees was more than 30mins and thought the staff would accommodate with something, but I guess that’s not the establishment they were. They were sold out of a few items and certain entrees were running short, but the seafood pasta ordered was directly said that it would come with one less scallop and compensated with extra clams and muscles. Food - we ordered oysters Rockefeller, NY Strip, seafood laced fettuccine, and side order of Mac cheese. The highlight was probably the appetizer and oysters which had a nice briney bite with a lovely crispy top. NY strip - was bone dry and not ordered to hope we wanted it cooked. We asked for medium rare it came out well done at best. The amount of chews per bite were quite a bit. Given how long we waited to get our entrees, we didn’t want to risk returning and waiting longer for the potential of a steak cooked we wanted. Seafood pasta - the seafood was cooked well and shrimp was well done. The one scallop was fine and muscles and clams were lovely. The pasta wasn’t salted and the sauce had no seasoning away from a lemon forward taste. It felt just like butter and lemon with just no seasoning. Mac and Cheese - was just super dry. Had some bacon bits in between that provided some texture, but it felt like just a cream cheese and noodles combined with some bacon.

Cafe Lalibela Ethiopian Cuisine is a laid-back eatery that serves up traditional Ethiopian dishes along with wine and beer, including gluten-free injera. The restaurant prides itself on its finger-licking good food, which is traditionally enjoyed by hand using the spongy injera bread. Established in 1996, it was Arizona's first Ethiopian restaurant and remains popular among locals, students, and professors alike.
We recently had the pleasure of dining at this fantastic restaurant with a group of friends and their families, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment we stepped in, the ambiance was warm and inviting, setting the perfect backdrop for an evening filled with laughter and delicious food. We explored the menu, which was a treasure trove of culinary delights. In fact, there wasn’t a single dish that didn’t pique our interest! We decided to try a variety of about 12 different dishes, each more incredible than the last. From savory appetizers to mouthwatering mains, every bite was a burst of flavor. It was clear that each plate was crafted with care and expertise, making it difficult to pick a favorite. The staff at the restaurant were absolutely exceptional. They were attentive without being intrusive, always ready with a smile and a recommendation. Their knowledge of the menu was impressive, and their suggestions truly elevated our dining experience. It felt like we were being guided through a delightful culinary journey, and we appreciated their enthusiasm for the food they served. Another bonus was the parking situation. The restaurant boasts a spacious parking lot, making it convenient for our group to gather without any hassle. All in all, our evening was filled with great company, delectable dishes, and outstanding service. I can’t wait to go back and explore more of the menu; it’s a place I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone looking for a remarkable dining experience!

The food was tasty, and the atmosphere was really friendly. I loved the overall vibe, and they even had some unique, almost utopian items available for purchase. The portion sizes were generous, which made the experience even more satisfying.

Cafe Laibela is an absolute gem for anyone craving authentic Ethiopian cuisine. From the moment you walk in, the warm and inviting atmosphere sets the tone for a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience. The restaurant has a cozy, family-style feel with welcoming staff. The food is nothing short of amazing. Each dish is rich in flavor, perfectly spiced, and beautifully presented on traditional bread. Whether you’re a longtime fan of Ethiopian food or trying it for the first time, Cafe Laibela delivers an unforgettable experience with both its cuisine and atmosphere.

Been going to this place for years and recently visited again. They serve a delicious cuisine of Ethiopian food. The dishes are flavorful, abundant, and the quality is spectacular. You can get individual dishes or shareable dishes. They serve their dishes with injera which serves as your utensils and what you use to grab your food. It's so delicious 😋. The atmosphere is very relaxed. The restaurant is very cozy and friendly. The service was great and the staff is very attentive and courteous. The dishes were plentiful and extremely affordable. You get a lot of food for the cost. I certainly recommend this place for the dishes, ambience, friendly staff, and bang for your buck!

If you are in the area and love Ethiopian food, look no further! There is a reason Cafe Lailibela has been around for 30 years and has won multiple awards. The Doro Wat, Asa Wat, Tiramisu, and Misir Wat are excellent choices along with Kerem Shai and Jebena. The food here is excellent and won't disappoint you whether you are a local or a weary traveler looking for a hot meal and a cup of Jebena.

The food was delicious! My favorite is the Fasolia (green bean, tomatoes, and carrots). We got the Vegan platter for 2. There were 3 of us and we were full with leftovers. The service is not very friendly. The space was comfortable and very clean.

I went to this restaurant after my Atana head spa treatment. I saw this restaurant going in and was curious about the food they served. After I searched them up online I realized they had Ethiopian food. I’ve never had it prior so I decided to check out the menu and pick out a couple items. I walked into the restaurant and met with a less than enthusiastic woman. She did not smile and she was not gracious. I ordered the Doro wat and Gomen. I drive home with the food and ate it at home. The Doro wat/stew was not packaged well. It spilled into the bag. I was told the bread or Tef was supposed to be delicious. I thought it was flimsy and sour. The Doro wat did not look appetizing the flavor was ok, a bit bitter. Gomen was basically just collard greens and it was mediocre. The next day my stomach was hurting terribly. After this experience I’ve written off Ethiopian food completely. I will never eat it again.

Wow wow wow, I always wish I live closer to this place, because all of the dishes look amazing! The last time I was here was 8 years ago! There are so many options and I finally decided on the Beef Tibs. It was so flavorful and tender. The onions were not overpowering. I loved that the server gave me an extra side of injera too! Look forward to the next visit already!

Four Peaks Brewing Company, named after the famous mountain peaks in Greater Phoenix, is a well-known brewery in Arizona. Their classic Kilt Lifter Scottish Ale has been a favorite since 1996 and is considered the top beer in the state. The main brewery in Tempe has been a popular spot for over 20 years, attracting students, sports fans, and locals. The brewery's acquisition by Anheuser-Busch in 2015 expanded its reach across the country.
Girls’ night approved! Stopped by Four Peaks Brewing Company in Tempe just for drinks and dessert with the girls, and it did not disappoint. We sat at the first bar and I ordered the Pink Pony Club (vodka + peach schnapps = dreamy), and it was the perfect summer cocktail — light, fruity, and dangerously easy to drink. For dessert, we shared the summer lemon bars with coconut ice cream, and wow. The lemon bars were tart and buttery, and that coconut ice cream was next-level — creamy, refreshing, and not too sweet. Vibes were chill, service was fast, and the whole spot had a great local Tempe energy. Will definitely be back — maybe next time for the full dinner menu!

I'm so glad I came here today. I'm a huge pumpkin beer fan, and I just had the best one! I enjoyed the Double Pumpkin Barrel Aged Porter. Had a very deep porter flavor, with slight sweetness of pumpkin and whiskey. I also had the fish and sweet potato fries. They were excellent. My server Delaney was fantastic. Very good attitude and just wonderful service. I'm so glad that I stopped by here.

A fantastic spot to kick back and chill with friends, offering a lively atmosphere and lovely hospitality. The service is top-notch, making you feel right at home. Their pepperoni pizza is an absolute standout—bursting with flavor! With a solid selection of brews, there’s something for every beer lover. Plenty of street parking and indoor seating make it super convenient, and with screens everywhere, it’s a prime spot to catch the game. Highly recommend!

We came here at 7:55pm to learn they have happy hour at 8:00! Great! I had the Bad Birdie ( too sweet for me) and the Wow. We had nachos, crab cakes, and AZ chicken roll. Skip the chicken roll it was boring. The nachos were great and salmon cakes good. Good sauce with crab cakes. We sat outside which was nice. They have fun Halloween decorations. Lots of parking.

Absolutely love this place!!! Been coming here for years now. The drinks AND food are both tremendous (can't say the same about other breweries in the valley). Love the atmosphere and the staff is always so friendly, if you're in the area try this place! (Try a peach beer) 10/10!

Great place to catch a Vikings game, but be ready to wait for service on a busy day. Holy wow! Love the mimosa bucket - can't beat the deal. Food is equally yummy.

We are visiting Phoenix from the UK and thoroughly enjoyed our evening at the restaurant. All the staff were so friendly, especially our waitress who was brilliant. The atmosphere is really good fun and there is a gift shop too. The food arrived really quickly and was of fantastic quality.

Haji-Baba is a Middle Eastern restaurant and grocery store that offers budget-friendly ethnic cuisine. The unpretentious eatery features a walk-up counter for grabbing kabob pitas and hummus to go, as well as a dining room for those who prefer table service. The menu includes a variety of dishes such as kebabs, shawarma, gyros, falafel, babaganoush, and more.
Legit! Been a while since I had legit Gyro meat...this was quite flavorful. Amazing Falafel and the Tabouli was delicious, like top notch. The Spanakopita was good, but might try something else next time. The pickles in the Gyro were a nice addition and flavor profile. Not pictured but a MUST is getting Baklava, they so many to try, I would save room to try multiple next time. This place is a GeM!

Haji-Baba is without a doubt some of the highest quality shawarma I’ve ever had the pleasure of tasting. The chicken shawarma platter is immaculately flavorful, and make sure to have the garlic sauce. The built in market creates an authentic atmosphere that amplifies the dining experience.

I’ve been coming here for 20+ years and absolutely love it! I love that the menu hasn’t changed and the food flavors remain consistent. The servers are always friendly and the food comes out quickly. Don’t forget to get some delicious baklava on your way out!

The best restaurant in Tempe. Food is incredible, perfectly seasoned, and very affordable. The staff are incredibly kind and hardworking. The vibes in there are lowkey and super relaxed. I love this place so much. If I could give them more stars I would in a heartbeat.

Great place for chicken shwarma. Its in a sketchy area, even walking in the place it has a warehouse feeling. But food is great!

I love Haji Baba. Always have. You cannot find better chicken Shawarma sandwiches anywhere. You cannot find better hummus anywhere! They are located conveniently off Apache in Tempe. This is a must visit. It’s also a grocery store. Very authentic. Not your average chain like pita jungle Not even close. This is a rare gem in Tempe. I have been coming here for years. The same people are always working! You know what you’re gonna get every time prices are incredible.
