Sights & Landmarks
Nestled in the woods, Thorncrown Chapel is a stunning piece of architecture made of wood and glass with 425 windows. It serves as a non-denominational worship center and a popular wedding venue. Inspired by one of Frank Lloyd Wright's students, it has been recognized as one of the most beautiful churches in America. The chapel welcomes visitors to admire its design and offers a spiritual experience. Eureka Springs also boasts other attractions such as St.
Thorncrown Chapel is one of the most stunning and peaceful places I’ve ever visited. It’s gorgeous and ever so magical. Designed by E. Fay Jones, a student of Frank Lloyd Wright, the chapel is an architectural masterpiece that blends seamlessly into its natural surroundings. With over 6,000 square feet of crystal clear glass and a soaring wooden frame, it feels as if the forest is part of the structure itself. The way the light filters through the trees and into the chapel creates a calm, almost spiritual atmosphere. Whether you’re visiting for quiet reflection, appreciation of architecture, or just to enjoy the beauty of the Ozarks, it’s an unforgettable experience. Thoughtfully designed and beautifully maintained, Thorncrown Chapel is truly a must-see in Eureka Springs.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Absolute Masterpiece in the Woods We stopped at Thorncrown Chapel during our road trip from Texas to New York, and WOW - what an unexpected gem! This place is absolutely breathtaking. The chapel itself is a work of art - nestled right in the middle of the forest with floor-to-ceiling pristine glass walls that make you feel like you’re worshipping among the trees. The way the natural light filters through the towering windows and mingles with the surrounding Ozark forest is nothing short of magical. The architecture is stunning yet humble, and the peaceful atmosphere is exactly what we needed before our big European adventure. Whether you’re religious or not, this space has a way of making you pause and appreciate the beauty around you. It’s the perfect blend of human craftsmanship and nature. If you’re anywhere near Eureka Springs, this is an absolute MUST-SEE. We’re so glad we made the detour - it was hands down one of the most beautiful and serene places we’ve ever visited. Already recommending it to everyone we know!

Thorncrown Chapel is absolutely breathtaking! The architecture blends perfectly with the surrounding forest, creating such a peaceful and awe-inspiring atmosphere. Stepping inside feels almost magical, with the light streaming through the glass and the trees all around you. It’s an experience that’s hard to put into words but definitely worth it. A must-see if you’re anywhere near Eureka Springs!

Thorncrown Chapel! It was an absolutely amazing structure to see! It was designed by E. Fay Jones, who was an apprentice of Frank Lloyd Wright. It opened in 1980 and has over 6000 ft.² of glass covering 425 individual windows. From April to October they hold two church services every Sunday morning - unfortunately, we weren’t in town for that, but we decided it would be very hard to pay attention to the message – we would be looking around and out the windows the whole time! Ha! Note that Thorncrown is also very accessible to people with mobility issues. It’s a very short walk from a nice parking area to Thorncrown on a nice, stone paved pathway. It was definitely wot a visit if you’re in the area! Heck, what am I saying – we plan a whole road trip just to come see Thorncrown!
Dana M — Google review
A must see. It is free admission and is a beautiful work of art. The serenity of the inside makes you want to linger. The beautiful fall colors on display now is definitely an added bonus!
Donna M — Google review
As a destination wedding photographer based in Puerto Rico, I recently had the opportunity to photograph a wedding at Thorncrown Chapel, and I can genuinely say it’s one of the most breathtaking venues I’ve ever worked in. The chapel itself feels like a hidden gem tucked inside the Ozark woods—completely surrounded by trees, flooded with natural light, and built almost entirely of glass. It creates an atmosphere that is peaceful, intimate, and visually stunning from every angle. For couples planning a destination wedding, this venue is incredibly special: the architecture merges perfectly with nature, giving you a ceremony space that looks cinematic and timeless without needing extra décor. As a photographer, I was blown away by how beautifully the light moved through the space, creating soft, clean tones and symmetry that made every photo feel editorial. The surrounding forest, the walkway leading to the chapel, and the reflections on the exterior glass all offer endless opportunities for stunning portraits. Not only is the venue gorgeous, but the overall experience is serene, intentional, and perfect for couples who want something unique and unforgettable. If you're considering a destination wedding in the U.S., Thorncrown Chapel is absolutely worth traveling for, and I would be honored to capture more love stories in this magical place.

Step back in time and experience the nostalgia of locomotive transportation with a visit to the Eureka Springs & North Arkansas Railway. This historic 1940s-era diesel locomotive offers various excursion options, including the Excursion Train and Dining Car. Witness operational diesel and stationary steam locomotives, as well as an authentic turntable in action.
Dinner train was spectacular. The views, the service, the food. Miss Pat and her crew know how to make you feel special. Prime Rib meal was on point. THIS is a MUST DO if you're visiting Eureka Springs.
Mobileshare — Google review
What's to say? It's a train.🚂 We love trains! 😍 It's not a locomotive. It's not a scenic railway. It doesn't really go anywhere, and where it goes - it's really slow lol 🫢 But hey, you don't get a meal like this on the fast train! 😯 It's a train! And we love trains! 🙌🏻They are tremendously expensive to operate and maintain!👨🏻‍🔧 Anybody who can do it successfully deserves far more credit than they get! I chose the dinner train. It's an excellent dinner.😋 The price is reasonable. The dining car is a magnificent refurbishment! The service is four Star. The decor is rich and very period type. The music is nice. The food is good. The air conditioning is fantastic. What else is there to say? It's a train, and we love trains. Even though this is a slow ride to nowhere... 🫣 About 15 minutes at 5 mph. And a faster ride on the way back 😆 at twice the speed. 🤫 Here's a fun fact. I was here 4 years ago in April. At that time it was only running on Saturday and I wasn't going to be in Eureka Springs on Saturday. So here I am, I came back 4 years later. That's the second time I returned somewhere for a dinner train ride!! 🤠
Michael S — Google review
Such a fun experience for our family! We did the excursion ride (my husband and I with our 4 and almost 2 year old). The conductor Greg was very knowledgeable, funny, and kind! The trip was very organized and we really enjoyed our time. The ride is short and slow, but allows you to take in the greenery that you pass and hear the history behind the railroad line. It was a wonderful way for us to spend our Saturday morning!
Katelyn O — Google review
Amazing train ride very very awesome. Don’t worry the train doesn’t go fast nor does it go far. The food is very good. Very delicious. The weight staff were very very friendly. You can purchase wine on board. It’s $30 a glass. It’s not the most wine you’ve ever had, but it’s delicious. We ordered the prime rib and pasta dish. Very delicious. It was really really good. It was however, exceedingly cold first two weeks of October so I would say if you’re riding after October, you’re gonna absolutely absolutely need a jacket I also needed a jacket and I just never get cold like ever ever ever but it was amazing. There’s a sign seating on the train you don’t have to worry about picking a seat. You don’t have to worry about where you’re gonna be in line. They’re gonna put you exactly where they’re gonna put you and it’s gonna be great. I would tell you, however that the bathroom is exceedingly tiny so if you’re a big person, make sure you do all the stuff you need to do before you get on the train. There’s also only a single bathroom so make sure that if you’re a party of 17 you’ll do what you need to do before you get on the Train. All in all, it was really really great. The dessert was fantastic. Love the dessert love the little show that they make the people do. It was great dress up. Have fun. Spend your money there.
Dani B — Google review
I did the dinner train with my mother and it was a pretty cool experience. The only things I was disappointed in was that the train stopped for around 30 minutes and the prime rib was dry and chewy. I got the pasta which was good. The meals were surprisingly nutritionally balanced. It was 4 courses. It was about what you would expect for the price. The staff was attentive and kind. The cake at the end being train shaped was a cool addition. The views were beautiful and we ate over a creek. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience.
Abigail G — Google review
What a refreshing escape from the everyday! This scenic journey offered more than just views—it came with a full-course lunch that truly impressed. I highly recommend the beef stroganoff—it was rich, savory, and absolutely delicious. To top it all off, the coffee paired with the whimsical “chew chew” dessert was the perfect sweet finale. Whether you're traveling with kids or just looking for a unique outing, this experience is a delightful treat for all ages.
Allyson S — Google review
The staff is wonderful, the food is amazing but it truly needs some updates on the train car we were in. I think the other train car is the nice one you see in all the pictures on Google. I think it would be very cool if some of the trees on the path of the ride had some solar lights. A haunted train ride would be a lot of fun also. All in all we had a very nice time and would like to go again. Hopefully the next one is in the nicer train car.
Elizabeth M — Google review
I did not think it was worth it, in my opinion. We went on a Saturday night and our train was pretty full. My husband got prime rib, which was so so and I got the chicken and it was not good. Overcooked and very little flavor. Came with vegetables that tasted frozen with zero seasoning. The train also only moves for 10-15 minutes and then just sits and parks, then goes backwards back. I was expecting an actual scenic ride the whole time. Just not worth the money we paid.

Monuments & Statues
Christ of the Ozarks is a 67-foot statue located on Magnetic Mountain in Eureka Springs. It was built in 1966 and has become one of the most iconic landmarks in the area, offering stunning views of the surrounding Ozark Mountains. The statue provides a serene spot for reflection and is easily accessible by car. Nearby attractions include The Great Passion Play Amphitheater, making it a convenient location for visitors to explore the historical district.
Came to see the Christ of the Ozarks. It was beautiful. You could freely walk around the statue and there were trails you could hike as well. Wonderful place to be, experience and feel.
David I — Google review
Located in the scenic town of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, the Christ of the Ozarks statue is a striking and serene monument that’s worth a stop if you’re visiting the area. Standing 67 feet tall with outstretched arms, the statue is both impressive in scale and surprisingly simple in design. It’s perched on a hilltop and offers a beautiful panoramic view of the Ozark Mountains. The site is free to visit, with ample parking and peaceful walking areas around the statue. It’s especially beautiful during sunrise or sunset when the light hits the white figure in a particularly dramatic way. We can sense of calm and reflection while walking around the grounds. The surrounding area includes attractions tied to the religious theme, like The Great Passion Play and a Bible museum, making it a nice stop for those interested in Christian history or cultural landmarks. Pros: • Free admission • Peaceful setting and great views • Historical and spiritual significance Cons: • Limited amenities on-site • Design may feel underwhelming to some A worthwhile stop, especially if you’re already exploring Eureka Springs or on a scenic drive through the Ozarks.
Juliya P — Google review
It was a humbling time to reflect and pray about life circumstances and for others. We were a day early and missed the opportunity to see the passion play. A lot of the other attractions were not open or staffed, possibly because of it being a week day. There was plenty for us to explore, reflect on, and appreciate in the area despite the limitations.
Elizabeth P — Google review
Amazing sight to see - I loved that you can see it with or without tickets to the Great Passion Play. If you don’t have tickets to the play, you can just pull up to the checkpoint and tell them you’d like to go see the statue and they will wave you on through. There’s lots of information about the statue and how it was built as well. It was very interesting to read.
Dana M — Google review
Nice. Worth the trip. I'm a Believer and Jesus is my #1 - but I find the statue kinda creepy in the same way I find all Christ figurines. One of my favorite things there was the Bible museum. I loved seeing that collection of old Bibles.
Becky R — Google review
Breathtaking! The scenery is so beautiful you can walk right up to the cross and take pictures. There are beautiful flowers, landscape, birds chirping. There was a bench to sit and pray and enjoy the atmosphere. We loved our visit.

Very awesome! 67 feet high, over looking the valley and mountains. There is a prayer garden to one side, a baptismal being constructed now.

Specialty Museums
The Eureka Springs Historical Museum is a must-visit attraction in the town of Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Housed in a well-preserved Victorian-era home, this museum offers a fascinating exploration of the town's history from its Native American origins to its present-day vibrancy. Visitors can immerse themselves in photographs and art depicting the discovery of healing waters that put Eureka Springs on the map. The museum showcases numerous artifacts and provides insight into the cultural development of the area.
Seriously amazing. It's very well thought out, considerate, and incredibly well curated museum. The museum's exhibits are well organized and many have interactive components that teleports you into the early days of Eureka springs. Our favorite were the refurbished steam box, as well as the audio recordings ( a collaboration with local thespians) of old letters and records of how life was in the old days. Upstairs is super cool as well showing the swedish influences, and how the folk art scene flourished in the town!
Jackie N — Google review
Building is beautiful. Not much to look at inside. Should be free with donations appreciated. Been to at least a dozen of these small town museums and have seen a lot more in smaller towns. The museum could offer some nice events that monetarily benefit them instead of asking five dollars for an entry. Nice that the town at least has something though.
Julie H — Google review
For the size of the town, this is a 5-star review. There are 2 floors filled with artifacts, history, and stories of before the town was founded, the founding, the peak years, and the status through to today. The first floor (3 connected rooms) covers that. The top floor has interesting artifacts like a permanent hair wave machine, a scary looking life-sized doll, artwork, and a bedroom set up as if it were 1890. Took us about an hour and 15 minutes. There was a gentleman when we came it (don't know his name) with a beard that was very helpful. He left 45 minutes later when someone came in to take over.

It’s a cool little museum with a lot of interesting facts and history of Eureka Springs. The exhibits and displays are well done and informative. The gentleman that runs the museum is very knowledgeable also. He was able to answer any questions we had. I had been to Eureka hundreds of times and I am sorry I have waited so many years to experience the museum.

Performing arts theater
The Great Passion Play is a large-scale dramatic production that depicts the last week of Jesus Christ in an amphitheater setting. Located near downtown Eureka Springs, AR, it is part of a 700-acre complex that offers various recreational activities such as zip lines and wildlife refuge visits. The play attracts many visitors to the area and is considered a must-see for family vacations. Additionally, the location provides easy access to other attractions in the area, making it a popular choice for tourists.
The new show is Amazing and updated with staging advancements - doesn’t look so dated! Havent been here in many years. Remember our church youth group went here as a teen but this isn’t your mother’s passion play anymore! :-) Be sure to view the impressive Bible collection and sacred arts collection (both free) - seeing the Word of God in person in various translations and art from the 1400s and before is truly inspiring. I remember about 15 yrs ago this ministry was in a lot of debt- glad to see they aren’t just surviving but are thriving….

The Tour and the play were amazing. We absolutely loved the museum. The staff were friendly and food was good! loved to see a depiction of Jesus rising and walking on water. After the tour, we went to the big Jesus statue, and my then Fiancée proposed to me! this is a place I will never forget and great place to have a fun filled, Jesus filled day!

From website: The Great Passion Play in Eureka Springs, Arkansas is "America's #1 Attended Outdoor Drama" according to the Institute of Outdoor Theatre. Eureka Springs is just the place to relive The Greatest Story Ever Told! The Play is not the only thing to see and do though. The Christ of the Ozarks, the Holy Land Tour, Moses Tabernacle in the Wilderness, a section of the Berlin Wall, the Church in the Grove, the Bible Museum, the History Museum, and the Sacred Arts Museum, Noah's Ark Park Petting Zoo, Hiking Trails, and Mountain Bike Trails are also on the grounds and many attractions are open ALL YEAR LONG!
Paul F — Google review
First time to go. Play was done well. David was funny and interactive with his along throwing demonstration. The Story from the Potter was amazing and very thought provoking. Buffet was surprisingly good. Pineapple dressing was delicious. Petting zoo wasn’t all that. Biggest disappointment was the Holy Land tour. The stop at the tabernacle was very thought provoking, the rest needed some help.
Robin T — Google review
We attended the great passion play about a month ago on a Friday night. We ate at the great passion play buffet ahead of time and the food was wonderful, then we drove out to the Christ of the Ozarks statue to check it out. We went in as soon as the gates opened and sat near the top of the theater. I will say that if you try to walk very far down, remember you have to turn around and come back up and it’s pretty steep. I’m in pretty good physical condition, and I was huffing and puffing by the time I got back up to the top after walking all the way to the bottom for pictures. It started exactly on time, ran for exactly 2 hours and ended exactly on time. The sound was great. The message was true to the Bible and it was a very special event.
Dana M — Google review
This was FAR more than I expected. I expected a road side attraction. Instead, I found a well designed and organized historical depiction of Christ's life. The play,,,,, left me speechless. The buffet, well, let's just say it's better than driving someplace else to find food.
James I — Google review
Absolutely must see. They did a spectacular job and all of my children aged 10-17 really enjoyed it. Warning they show a hanging death of Judas and crucifixion of Jesus that may be more intense for younger kids.

The warm and rustic setting, complete with an outdoor patio, provides the perfect ambiance for enjoying their New American fare alongside wine and cocktails. Great experience here. The vibe was a family owned cafe. The atmosphere was relaxing clean. We went on a Thursday for lunch. The food was delicious and prices were comparable for what we got. Wouldn’t hesitate to stop by again when in town.

Loved this vibe! Lots of unique options. Dog friendly patio! Delicious food and Spicy Bloody Mary. I very much so enjoyed the delectable Sesame Encrusted Goat Cheese salad. Thought it was maybe going to be a little too much arugula, but the flavors together were divine! Grilled salmon with a salad was good!
Shannel M — Google review
The food was excellent! I give it a score of 10. I ordered a "Mocktail, Crabcakes for an appetizer, The Grilled Eggplant Napoleon, Black Beans with Jasmine Rice and veggies. A delicious Caesar salad came with it.

Best meal in Eureka Springs yet. Unpretentious, friendly spot for weekend brunch. Excellent service and good-sized portions of food for the price. Nice patio dining overlooking Main Street. Did not attempt reservations but arrived early and beat the crowd.

Today’s lunch was light, fresh, and full of good energy. We enjoyed grilled rainbow trout and salmon with Caesar salad, paired with two “Butterfly Effect” drinks that lived up to the name. 🦋💫 Our waiter Ken was incredibly kind and helpful—he made the whole experience feel relaxed and easy. There’s something about sitting outside, sharing a meal, and letting the day slow down for a moment. Must have the goat cheese salad every damn time - the panko breaded goat cheese is nearly as big as a hockey puck and definitely a Hat Trick! Tonight I tried the Shrimp Diablo with grits- ridiculous amount of flavor. I went on and on about it so long, drooling, until our server blushed. Huge shrimp, outstanding red sauce and cheesy grits, the whole thing was too freaking good. The lady at the table next to ours ordered it too but she said that compared to Louisiana, those weren't grits. But we decided she can eat whatever Louisiana calls grits in Louisiana because Northwest Arkansas Local Flavor style grits are the stinking bomb. My new favorite. I couldn't handle eating the whole thing. And since I'm bringing that home, I might as well bring home the chocolate lavender creme brulee too.
Shawn F — Google review
My husband and I had an all around fantastic experience at Local Flavor. It was our first dinner in Eureka Springs. We had the gorgonzola cream pasta and goat cheese olive tapenade chicken. We agreed that both meals were wonderful. We also enjoyed a wine flight and two desserts (bread pudding and flour less chocolate cake). We will absolutely return during future visits to Eureka Springs!

Steak house
American restaurant
Gaskins Cabin Steakhouse is a charming restaurant located in a restored log cabin, offering a selection of steak and seafood dishes along with an impressive wine and spirits menu. The establishment has received several accolades, including Best Overall Restaurant in Eureka Springs and Best Steak Around Arkansas. Their menu features house specialties like Prime Rib and hand-cut filets, as well as delectable made-from-scratch desserts.
We called in a late order and they were able to get our order taken care of. Thank you “pregnant bar tender lady”. Sorry we didn’t get your name. She suggested the soup with our prime rib dinner and the soup was amazing. Our order taker was very sweet. Food was amazing and they could have told us they were closed so we really appreciated the consideration. We will return next visit down to eureka springs!

The food here was extremely good. From the filet mignon to the prime rib to the mushroom soup, it was all high quality and we were all satisfied. I really liked that it was seemingly someone house that was converted into a restaurant. The only downside is that service was extremely slow. They were fairly busy but other tables seemed to get far more attention than ours. All in all, I would definitely come back for a steak 🥩.
Perdido N — Google review
It was almost perfect. Steak was so tender it would melt in your mouth and the mushroom soup we got with our meal was amazing but we have a few complaints. First off, we were seated and got our drinks and were being served great until a group was seated in our area. We had no problem with this but it seemed to us that our waiter was favoring them. They got their appetizers and starters first despite us being the first to be seated. Even when our entres were served they got their food before we did. It was definitely frustrating especially because we had made reservations. Now the food. We got the escargot and mac n cheese for starters. This was our first time having escargot and I will say I didn’t like it but I don’t blame that on the cooks, just me. The mac n cheese was also good. My husband ordered the New Orleans steak and potatoes and I ordered the Shrimp Scampi. His food was amazing, like I said at the beginning. Mine was disappointing. The shrimp came with the shell on so I had to peel off the tails myself just for the shrimp to not even be good. It was definitely cooked too long because it had a chewy texture. The noodles were fine. In short, service was meh, despite the favoritism our service was nice and the host was also nice. My food was okay but I wouldn’t eat it again for how much I paid. Husband enjoyed his food though.

Celebrating a wedding anniversary and enjoyed our time there. My filet was cooked well and melted in my mouth. The side salad and garlic parmesean pasta were tasty as well. My husband's ribeye was good, not the best, but good. His loaded baked potato was delicious. The bread served with the meal was perfect! The ambiance was nice and quaint. Pretty dark where we were seated, but I know some people like that. Would definitely recommend!!!

Wonderful little place just outside of town. You'll want to make a reservation, and you won't be disappointed. We were visiting from across the country and wanted to find a good steak in town. One of the local shop owners recommended Gaskins. He said it was the best steak house around. He was right! Everything about this restaurant was wonderful. The staff, the food, the service, the atmosphere, it was all great. The pricing was reasonable also. If you're looking for a great place to eat, hang out, and relax, you found it!

Food was wonderful and we had great service. We were visiting the area from out of town and my husband surprised me with a reservation for us for my birthday!

Excellent food. Cozy atmosphere. Yet you must judge a place by their restrooms.Disappointing to see the toilet dusty and the paper towel roll doesn't work. I dusted myself lol. Spent $55 on a steak, must say a high end steak restaurant should invest a little more. Lowers the class a bit. Simple up keep makes a difference. Still a must check out place!

Talk about home cooked Italian food!!! This restaurant is actually in a house!! Bar and waiting area in the upstairs. The bread and salad starters were fantastic. And the entrees came out. The wife had some chicken Alfredo and I had some sort of veal. The food was amazing!!! Pair that with the service and this place is absolutely amazing!!!

Ermilio’s Italian Home Cooking is hands-down one of the best dining experiences in Eureka Springs. The moment you walk into the old Victorian home, you’re greeted with a warm, cozy atmosphere that feels like having dinner at a friend’s house—if your friend also happened to be an incredible Italian chef. The food is phenomenal—fresh, handmade pastas, rich sauces, and classics done with real care. Every dish tastes like it was crafted with love, and the portions are generous without sacrificing quality. Service is consistently friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. It’s easy to see why this place is so highly recommended. If you’re visiting Eureka Springs, Ermilio’s is an absolute must.

My wife and I have been coming to Eureka Springs for 6 years, and eating at Ermilio’s is always at the top of our list. In fact, it’s usually the first thing we do once we arrive! The food is authentic Italian, and is delicious as much as it as beautiful. The restaurant is in a residence, which really gives that family meal feel. So much so, that it is common for patrons at different tables have conversations with each other. Unlike most restaurants, there is no real urgency to turn over tables. This promotes the Italian tradition of enjoying your meal and conversation. Like any place, I have had great service and mediocre service, can’t knock the restaurant for that. This is a very special place and one of our favorites!

Bring cash for upstairs bar! If you end up waiting you can go upstairs and get a drink (cash only), but the wait time goes quickly as you make friends, play board games (Uno in our case), and sip on your beverages before you are called to your table. We ended up playing Uno with two couples which was absolutely a blast. The service was very responsive and we were immediately served with new drinks, and warm homemade bread. Their bread is incredibly fresh and comes with a roasted garlic spread and butter (which I had to get two baskets). The house salad served with blue cheese was amazing! We got the gnocchi with cheese sauce and chicken, and the spinach Alfredo Alfredo sauce and shrimp which were amazing! I do wish the shrimp were bigger, or the plate came with more of them which is my only gripe! For dessert we got the Italian wedding cake which was so fresh and warm that my significant other had to complete the dish even though we were so incredibly full. If this isn’t one of the stops you’re making when you come to Eureka Springs then you are doing it wrong!

Such great food and service here! We are from Fort Worth but visit this restaurant every time we’re in Eureka Springs! The chicken Parmesan is my favorite but everything is delicious! Be prepared to wait awhile for a table because it’s quite popular and they do not take reservations. Definitely worth the wait though!!

Deeply disappointing evening at Ermilio’s Italian Home Cooking in Eureka Springs. I’ve always known that Ermilio’s serves the best food in Arkansas, and after finally sitting down to dinner last night, I can say the food is excellent. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. As a paraplegic and someone who uses a wheelchair, my experience before even being seated was humiliating and deeply disappointing. The restaurant’s waiting area is upstairs in the bar—accessible only by a flight of stairs. When I arrived, I was told that everyone waiting upstairs would be seated before me, even if they arrived after I did, because I’m specifically disabled and that’s “the policy.” The host explained that this was a rule from the owner and that he couldn’t approach them about it, even though he acknowledged how unfair it was. So, despite arriving early, I had to wait until other parties were seated before being given a table—all because I physically couldn’t climb the steps. It wasn’t just inconvenient; it was discriminatory. My disability shouldn’t determine when I get to eat dinner. When I was finally seated, the food truly was wonderful. But no meal can make up for being told that your disability means you’re less of a priority. I left feeling singled out and disrespected. I understand that losing one customer won’t impact a restaurant as popular as Ermilio’s. People will continue to come for the excellent pasta and warm atmosphere. But if you’re disabled—or care about fair and equal treatment—be warned: Ermilio’s will throw your disability in your face. I can’t in good conscience ever go back.

Cafe
Nestled in the heart of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, Mud Street Cafe is a charming and cozy eatery that offers breakfast and lunch in an old-fashioned room below street level. The cafe exudes a quaint and inviting atmosphere, drawing both locals and tourists with its freshly brewed coffee and delectable menu featuring sandwiches, salads, and baked goods.
What a great little spot. Kinda give a you the feeling of a speak-easy. You go in and downstairs. As you turn the corner, there is a beautiful wooden bar. The food was amazing. I had the Cajun chicken salad and my wife had the classic chicken wrap. YUMMY!! My wife had some kind of bougie ice cafe something or other.

Mud St. Cafe - Eureka Springs Great food surrounded by great staff!!! If you’re looking for a place with generous food portions, you’ve arrived! Let’s start from the beginning. When you are looking to park to eat here, you have option to pay cash or through mobile app, “Passport Parking.” Mobile App parking has clearly designated spaces. App is easy to use. It cost me $3.15 for 3 hours. Once you enter through the doors, you will go downstairs to the cafe. To my knowledge, this would not be a good eating place for people in wheelchairs. I didn’t see alternative options. If someone knows something different, please comment on here and correct me. Once I entered the cafe, a friendly young lady greeted me and asked, “How are you? Where would you like to sit?” Once at my table, she mentioned, “Coffee is self-serve and unlimited refills.” You can choose from; “Mud Street Blend,” “Dang Good Decaf,” “Ethiopia,” and “Guatemala.” I tried the bold and dark flavors of, “Mud Street Blend,” and it tasted very good. Offering Dark cherry, Smoky Overtone and Bakers Chocolate Notes. The menu selection is vast and offers so many good options. After spending some time, I finally settled on, “Grilled Tuna Sandwich.” - $16.25 (Grilled 8oz Yellow Fin Tuna Steak on sourdough toast, with lettuce, tomatoes and red onions.) The sandwich was so big that I couldn’t even finish my entire plate. But it had great flavors. Tuna was cooked to order and in the shape of a heart. Jennifer was my waitress. She also happens to own this wonderful, multi-year, Award Winning Restaurant. Just like the staff, Jennifer was very approachable and easygoing. She was very helpful in helping me with some questions I had about the area. Thank you Jennifer for your help and advice. The atmosphere was cozy with plenty of seating options. You have a good sized bar with lots of drinks to choose from. They offer Breakfast and Lunch. Next time I come, I’ve gotta try their breakfast. I’ve heard great things about it from the locals and the staff. Yes, absolutely recommend it.

TLDR: Go if they are open. Food: The signature sandwiches were good. All sauce seems to come on the side as standard. The coffee was good. Mochas (iced & hot) were veryuch more dessert style. Service: Was quick and efficient. None of the items took long to get to the table. Super plus. Server was nice. Atmosphere: Its in the basement with its own flare. Works for the spot.

Sweet little spot for super fresh food & the world’s greatest cup of coffee. We had the biscuits & gravy (really enough to share), Mexican quiche & the lightest croissant Ive ever had! The Mud street Blend coffee is unlike any other and very tasty black or with cream & sugar. It’s cozy atmosphere is just right. Room to move around and have a conversation. Mud Street is one of our local favorites. We usually make at least 1 meal there when we’re in ES.

One of the most interesting experiences in dining in Eureka Springs! This is a welcome and warming place to mingle with the community and enjoy some of the most fun you can have in the center of it all! The wife and I usually order a couple of dishes and split them between us, because it is what you’re looking for if you found yourself seeking where to go! Thank you so much for your efforts Mud Street.

I was a little disappointed in our food. I ordered the Mud Bowl with sausage gravy. The biscuits were very dry and there were SO MANY potatoes, which really just lacked flavor. The restaurant was cute and self serve coffee was very good. If we went back, I would order something else besides the mud bowl.

Oh the coffee was perfection! We had a wonderfully prepared cheese burger and the Greek chicken sandwich. The side dip served with it was a deal breaker it was so good.

I got the hash brown scramble. It didn't taste like it was seasoned at all. The potatos were grainy like they had been cooked then refrigerated and they weren't crispy. The veggies on top were well cooked but like I mentioned there was no seasoning so it was just unseasoned squash and carrots. My husband did not care for his food and didn't finish it which is surprising as he will eat about anything. I will say the pancake was one of the best I've ever had. My husband also liked the biscuits and gravy but the main courses could use some work. The decor inside was amazing.

American restaurant
Grotto Wood-Fired Grill and Wine Cave is a unique dining destination located in a historic building with a cavelike setting and a natural spring. The restaurant offers modern American cuisine cooked on a wood-fired grill, creating enticing aromas that greet visitors upon arrival. Chef Slane's innovative menu includes unexpected dishes like mushroom brie bisque and roasted bone marrow served with grilled bread.
Maybe the Grotto isn’t supposed to be a secret but it sure seems like a speakeasy to me. Located in a cave like area under buildings on the Eureka Springs main but off of an alley behind them we found it. A friend of our daughter said it was a don’t miss item. Too late for reservations there pretty one sweet talked the host into a couple spots at the really small bar area. Great professional staff, atmosphere, top notch food! We had crispy Brussels sprouts for our app, so good!! The pretty one had a grilled portobello top that was so good we didn’t miss the meat. I had smoked duck breast and we both had the Mac n cheese! Do not miss the Mac n cheese!! For cocktails we each had rosemary smoked old fashions Def will go back when we’re in town, absolutely agree that it is a don’t miss dining experience!!

Hands down a 5 star experience! The Filet was AMAZING (the garlic chive butter is a must!) my fiance got the pork chop and says it’s the best he has ever had. It’s expensive but the whole vibe, atmosphere, and food is worth it! The bartender was great. Be sure to make a reservation a day in advance if possible because it books up! Also for sides - the wine soaked mushrooms were fabulous. Asparagus was really good, and the white cheddar Mac was delicious! Great drinks as well.

Absolutely gorgeous. Made a reservation and requested a table by the cave, which we received! Server was Sara, so attentive, friendly, and made great recommendations. Had the quail poppers for an appetizer (don’t skip these, first time trying quail and I’m hooked!!!), the cedar plank salmon with pan Asian glaze and acorn squash, and hubby had the pork chop grotto style and baked potato. We will absolutely be back. This place is amazing!!!

Highly recommend making a reservation a few days or a week in advance. The staff was so accommodating when we called the night before to see if they did walk-ins. We were able to get a reservation at 5pm when they opened the next day. The atmosphere was amazing. Our waitress was so kind and was very informative of the menu. We both got ribeyes - they were cooked to perfection and almost couldn’t finish them. We LOVED the white cheddar Mac n cheese! 10/10 worth the hype.

My husband and I made reservations to have dinner at the Grotto for our 10 year wedding anniversary. Hands down one of the best meals we have ever had. The staff was so kind and the service was seemingly flawless. I would recommend dining here, especially for a special occasion.

I've been twice to the Grotto and have absolutely adored it each time. We love the interior, especially the shallow cave wall and the lighting, and the food is delicious and top quality! My favorite part has been the honeysuckle creme brulee each time, which is probably the best dessert I've ever had. Definitely recommend giving it a try, but remember to make a reservation as they book up quick!

We ordered the ribeye (16 oz) with the Grotto sauce( crab meat cream sauce). The steak was about 1 inch thick & very tender. We had the grilled shrimp appetizer. The flavor was very good. The dessert was honeysuckle crème brûlée. I would say the most disappointing part of the meal, very bland, very little sweetness. Presentation was nice. We shared the entire meal between my husband and I. No charge for sharing. The service was excellent.

Great ambiance and company. Came here while in town visiting friends. While we indulged in more appetizers and wine than we did than opting in for main courses I’m happy to say it was delicious!
