Plymouth

Plymouth is a coastal town in Massachusetts, south of Boston. It is the site of the first Pilgrim settlement, founded in 1620. Plymouth Rock, a boulder in Pilgrim Memorial State Park, marks the place where settlers are thought to have landed on shore. The Mayflower II, a full-scale replica of the ship that carried the Pilgrims across the Atlantic, is usually anchored at the park.

Mayflower II is a full-scale replica of the 17th-century Pilgrim ship, offering exhibits and tours led by costumed guides. Built in the 1950s in England as a gift to the United States, it meticulously resembles the original Mayflower. Visitors can tour the ship, learn about the Pilgrims' voyage and experiences aboard, and explore the founding of Plymouth Colony.
It was really cool to step aboard the ship and imagine what it must have been like to travel for 66 days across the ocean with 101 other passengers in such a small space. Those Puritans truly had incredible courage!

We visited the Mayflower II at the end of last month. Friends of ours that are members brought us along as guests for free, so I am unsure of the amount we would have paid for admission. The staff working that day were very knowledgeable and offered interesting information along with answering visitor questions. I particularly liked the "journey signs" that allowed you to imagine what your experience might have been like from start to finish. It was incredible to see the space you would have inhabited for the voyage, too. We were a group of all adults - highly recommend for similar visitors.

It was a rainy day when we went to Plymouth, but we really wanted to visit the Mayflower replica. We are very glad we went. Probably because of the rain, there weren’t a lot of people, and it was a good chance for us to look around. There were multiple staff members in different areas to answer questions and talk about the history of the Mayflower. Highly recommend visiting this to get an idea of the size and scope of the mayflower since it is to scale.

I went with a joint ticket to the Plymouth living history museum. The ship is cool but not the original. It’s a faithful replica. The price is pretty crazy to go to both this and the museum so 4 stars.
Jack V — Google review
Enjoyed this very much. A little pricey for what you get but the experience was informative and the local guides knowledgeable and friendly. I did like that there are specific activities and questions geared toward children. Mine are college aged but I thought this was particularly great.
Dana W — Google review
What a great place to visit! Good place to see history and appreciate the early settlers and their faith in God. It was especially neat this time because they were training people to sail the Mayflower again so we got to see some of the operations.
Joseph P — Google review
We were there on November 1, 2025 a Saturday. We paid full admission price and weren’t told they were filming around and on the Mayflower. We had to be very quiet and hide out of the way several times. This slowed us down more than we had planned! This was frustrating when we weren’t told at paying. I heard another person ask why was it on the weekend and not a week day. Crew on the ship had to talk softly so some were unable to hear what they said. We were from Western Canada thousand of miles away and were very unimpressed by this! Ask before you pay if there are interruptions you need to be aware of.

Cool experience with beautiful scenery. Nice look into history and there are a lot of restaurants and shops nearby. Paid parking is also very close.

Sights & Landmarks
Plymouth Rock is a significant monument located in Pilgrim Memorial State Park in Plymouth Harbor. It symbolizes the arrival of the Mayflower Pilgrims to the New World in 1620 and represents their faith and courage. The rock, a glacial erratic boulder, is believed to be where the pilgrims first stepped ashore, although there is no historical evidence to support this claim.
My daughters and I visited Plymouth Rock in March. I definitely recommend reading about all what happened at Plymouth Rock before you go there. It will really help you understand the importance of this beautiful site. I also loved seeing the replica of the Mayflower. It gave me a greater appreciation for one of my ancestors who came to America on the Mayflower. Must see!!
Juleen E — Google review
Very nice relaxing Little village. Would be five stars if the Mayflower 2 was actually there to visit. We visited unknowing the ship would be at sail getting coast guard certified the same day. The Shop owners along the pier we're very nice. Once you park there are plenty of nice little restaurants in walking distance to grab a bite and drink. Parking is reasonable with I think a 4 hr max for like 6 dollars.
Mike C — Google review
While underwhelming in size, it is a monumental symbol in American history. The monument that the Plymouth Rock is in is beautiful and gives visitors a good view of this iconic symbol of the Pilgrims arriving in North America. Enjoy the other sights around including Mayflower II and the other monuments around town.
James R — Google review
It was worth seeing Plymouth Rock only because I was in the area. Ir is a small boulder that has been manipulated by man and has the date of 1620 carved into it. There is a structure surrounding the stone to enshrined it. There is the Mayflower II nearby to visit.
Larry J — Google review
Plymouth Rock is exactly what you’d expect — a rock engraved with “1620.” It’s an iconic piece of history, but a quick stop overall. The rock sits low on the beach behind metal bars, with a viewing platform above for easy viewing and photos. It’s conveniently located right by the water and in the center of town, making it easy to visit while exploring the area. There was a state park worker on-site to answer questions, though their knowledge was somewhat limited. Still, it’s worth a visit for the historical significance and the chance to see such a well-known American landmark in person.
Melissa J — Google review
I haven't visited the landmark in many years, but went to show someone up from Rhode Island who had never seen it. The Plaques of historical data were new to me, the statue of the Daughters of the American Revolution was as well. I am a true Daughter of the American Revolution myself, passed on through the generations of my father's Mother, so I was happy to send the picture of the statue to my 95 year old grandmother, who is in Florida still driving and playing bridge! The Mayflower II is still a beautiful site. We saw the three monuments and the Standish Monument in the distance, all in about 20 minutes. Of course there are wonderful restaurants, gift shops, and ice cream, etc. along the waterfront, by the famous rock, as well.
Ashley — Google review
Nice historic town with beautiful sightseeing. Walking is easy and protected. There are plenty of food choices and to stay for a weekend relaxing experience.
Dixon S — Google review
I walk by Plymouth Rock almost every single day. I know some people are "underwhelmed" by the size (or lack of it) but to me it is an awesome symbol and reminder of the history of this area. The location is gorgeous and is surrounded by wonderful stores, restaurants, historical sites/museums and monuments. Coe for the Rock and stay for everything else 10/10

Pilgrim Hall Museum, established in 1824, is the oldest continuously operating public museum in the U.S. It was built as a monumental hall to honor the Pilgrims and now houses a diverse collection of artifacts and documents from that era. The museum carefully includes the Wampanoag perspective, detailing their relationship with English settlers from their first interactions through King Philip's War. Visitors can see possessions brought over on the Mayflower and gain insight into this crucial period of American history.
Staff was very nice. Great exhibits and very informative. Took a few hours to read and really look at everything. Well worth the time especially when it’s your ancestors!!
S J — Google review
Very friendly staff, museum is very small but very informative and has some interesting exhibits. Two levels and both stairs and elevators available. Restrooms very clean and a gift shop on-site. Just a suggestion parking is limited to the street out front of museum ( 2 hours only parking) or down from the museum is a paid parking garage. Takes about hour and half to two hours to tour.
David I — Google review
Big disappointment in the staff. We wish we could have been able to experience the beautiful history but were denied access at 4:32pm because technically the last admission is at 4:30pm. We were so excited to learn about a special family tie to a Mayflower descendent & on our way through town made a point to stop. We thought we were lucky enough to get there just in time… sorely we were mistaken. After paying to park in the museum parking lot, walking up the hill & around to the front of the building (slowly as I’m almost 7 months pregnant) we were denied access because we were 2 minutes too late. The museum closes at 5 & all we were hoping for was a single picture with some family history. We explained that we are from out of town & just passing through. This wasn’t a planned stop but would have been a treasured memory had the staff been a little more compassionate. The amount of time the staff member spent hesitating at the door we could have been in & out with a picture of family history to remember forever. We would have happily paid full price for admission, but we’re not given the opportunity. I would have thought the museum would care more about the experience of their patrons & appreciate additional entry fees, especially as the museum was still open. While we cannot testify to the museum itself as we were denied admission, we can say the customer service was a definite disappointment. Sour way to wrap up our trip, we really have no desire to return.
Christina S — Google review
Call to be sure they are open, as they sometimes close early for private events, but the museum is typically open Wed-Sunday until 5pm (last admittance at 4:30). I really appreciated the original artifacts (pictures are for personal use only or I would share), but also all the stories!!! I was able to get an amazing visual for my classes form the gift shop too. There is a ramp and an elevator, so fully accessible, but it is also pretty remarkable that the museum turns 200 years old this year!
Kristy J — Google review
This is a nice museum with rich history of the first settlers. Well worth the visit if you're interested in the pilgrimage and history behind it. They have interesting artifacts and the staff was very informative and inviting. It's not a large museum by any means, but still offer a lot of informative posters and videos to showcase the pilgrimage and native Indians. One of the rooms is undergoing renovation so there was nothing in it.
Aaron C — Google review
Absolutely wonderful museum they have a really robust collection for such a small footprint and we came from accros the country to see some of the items. The knowledge that they share is important and meaningful. I would recommend this museum to all ages. It has an accessible entrance with an elevator inside to reach the second floor. The gift shop is small but has some real treasures in it! 10/10 recommend!
Abigail R — Google review
Really well done museum. Tells the story about the first pilgrims that no history books tell you about growing up. The exhibits were very well done and had a surprisingly large amount of age appropriate artifacts. The videos at the beginning of the museum are a great intro into explaining where the pilgrims came from, why they came, the timeline of their journey and their interaction with the native Americans (along with all of the common misconceptions associated with all of those topics). The museum itself isn't massive but is appropriately sized for the content available. I'm not sure if the place had its own parking but we parked on the street. Price wise it was a good deal ($35 family pass for 5 adults).

Monument
Sights & Landmarks
The National Monument to the Forefathers, erected in 1889, stands at a towering 81 feet and is dedicated to commemorating the Pilgrims who founded the Plymouth Colony. This colossal granite monument was originally intended to be even taller and is considered one of the largest solid granite monuments globally. The inscription on the monument pays tribute to the Pilgrims' efforts for civil and religious liberty.
Cool place heard about it on YouTube never realized it was there. Beautiful statue with a lot of cool old world gods and symbolism. It’s HUGE and on a big hill over looking the bay very pretty cool place to sit and eat or hang out. Last time I was there I noticed some Osprey made a nest on the statues head that looks like a crown. Pretty cool
Nick D — Google review
Wow - there are no words to describe just how massive this statue is! We opted to drive to it when we were finished in Plymouth. There is ample free parking nearby. Photos honestly don't do this justice. Even with the equipment nearby for maintenance, the experience was amazing. Highly recommend seeing it for yourself.
Jackie A — Google review
Hidden gem. We arrived at 9:00 on a Monday morning and had the place to ourselves. It is a very significant structure with a poignant message. The pilgrims clearly had noble goals for their new society. The symbolism is extensive but interpretive signs are nowhere to be found. Look online for explanations.

Big monument near Edgar Town of Martha ‘s Vineyard celebrated the logic of the beginning of American Values, there are statues on four directions with value. There was a best of osprey bird on top of the monument. Interesting that it looked like Jesus crown of thorns.
Somkietr R — Google review
National Monument to the Forefathers was being power washed when we were in the area. Despite the equipment and barriers, it was absolutely beautiful. Take the time to walk all around and take in the incredible details. One may drive to the site or walk there from downtown.
Carol J — Google review
This is a newer monument and is not as well known as some others known to history buffs. This monument does a wonderful job not just honoring America’s great colonial founders, but honoring the core values they brought from England and that are the foundation of what makes America so great! The monument inspires awe and motivates you to pursue those core values, and it is well worth your time. The monument is on a large plot of land with a road that circles the entire monument and provides plenty of parking. It is tucked back a bit from Plymouth’s historical areas by the water, but it’s a short drive (less than 3 mins) and its a good way to top off a full day touring Plymouth. Be sure to review the entire monument t and pay attention to the details in the statue.

Every American citizen or potential citizen should visit. Looks as though it is undergoing some restoration currently. Wonderful reminder of the values which inspired the forming of our democratic Republic. Such a gem! There is parking all around the site. Free to visit. We went on a Friday, about 11 am. No crowd.

Plimoth Patuxet Museums, formerly known as Plimoth Plantation, encompasses several historic sites, with the 17th-century English Village being the largest. This village is a faithful recreation of the Pilgrims' original settlement, complete with costumed actors and activities. The carefully chosen ground reflects the original topography and street layout. Visitors can explore replicas of key structures like the fort and houses of prominent figures from that era.
If you’re on the east coast you definitely should make this a required stop!!! Recommended to me by a friend. Well worth the visit. The workers /actors are very knowledgeable and stay in character as they work about the original pilgrim village sharing stories of hardship and hope and friendships with the native Indian tribes. They worked together. Helped one another. Amazing how they survived and had the courage to come to this land and courage to stay. Great gift should as well. The grounds are beautiful.

The Mayflower II was a very cool experience! We did that first before going over to see Plymouth Rock. The Patuxet Museum is interesting. It is not at the original site. Instead it was built on an estate that was donated by a family. The history is there and the employees do a great job of fulfilling their roles by acting and speaking like the pilgrims and Native Americans did during that time. It is a pretty good hike to get around to the different areas of what used to be known as Plymouth plantation. What made it really work is the golf cart and the driver. He was excellent! He really went out of his way to be prompt and not only show us things but also tell us about them as we moved from site to site. I did think it was absolutely amazing that in the Native American area they are actually making canoes the way that they were made back in the day. And I loved the gardening and processing of the food that was occurring. Overall an excellent experience and you get the history of what it was like for the pilgrims to come. But really and truly the area just kind of throws it off. We had purchased a pass for all three events but at the end of the day we’re too tired to go to the grist Mill. We were hoping we would get to a point where we could just see it but it is very well hidden at the top of a hill.We did not end up making it there. Definitely hard to do this in an afternoon. You would likely need a day to get through all three or break it up into two separate 3-4 hour events.

We brought a group here to take in the displays and enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner. It did not disappoint. We found the “docents” in the Patuxet and English villages to be very knowledgable and interesting. The interior displays were also well designed and easy to explore. Our group hired Plentiful Catering to provide our traditional Thanksgiving meal and it was magnificent. Special thanks to Janet and Erin for helping to arrange a most enjoyable visit.

If you like history, even in the slightest bit, this is the stop for you. The facilities have been upgraded quite a bit over the years and are outstanding. Once you get out into the colony, it is immersive with the actors taking on the roles of each of the pilgrims. Absolutely cannot recommend this place enough!
S J — Google review
This is an absolute must-do in Plymouth — especially if you’re a history buff! 📜 Even with the cold rain, we had a wonderful time. The reenactments were incredible — spot on — and the actors never once broke character. You truly feel like you’ve stepped back in time. I learned so much about both the Pilgrims and the Indigenous people who originally inhabited the area. The experience completely changed my perspective — I had always seen the Pilgrims in a certain light, but hearing the detailed, balanced stories from the staff and reenactors gave me a much deeper understanding of the history and culture on both sides. The site itself is interactive — everything, even the wooden structures, can be touched, and they encourage you to do so. That hands-on element made the visit even more immersive and enjoyable. Highly recommend: get the Heritage Pass, which includes admission to three local museums in the Plymouth area. It’s 100% worth every penny and gives you a full picture of this historic region. Rain or shine, this is an unforgettable experience that brings history to life! 🌧️🏡✨

Love going to these museums and seeing the town of Plymouth. The main campus was beautiful. We had helpful staff at every point in our trip. These people love their jobs and are good at it!! The Native American area is neat to see the day ti day tasks and how people lived. The setting is amazing and the smell of smoke adds to the scene. The staff is very knowledgeable about everything. I loved the English area as well. It was so immersive and every detail was thought out. The staff are actually working there to keep the village running. It is quite impressive. But 10/10 to the staff for being friendly and helpful. I learned a lot. I bought the package that included Grist Mill and Mayflower II. Highly recommend. It was a great way to spend most of the day around Plymouth.

The protection Museum was well done and I thoroughly enjoyed the interaction with the actors and actresses. This is my ninth great grandfather John Holland, and the reconstructed house that he lived in. In town also there is that Holland house the last house standing in Plymouth, where pilgrims lived! The mayflower ship was amazing and we brought our bikes through the town and enjoyed our visit immensely!
Janine B — Google review
staff and actors are all very helpful and friendly. I have ancestors who came over on the mayflower and actors were able to talk some about them. I got bit by a flying insect in the native American area and the staff were very helpful and willing to get first aid if I had needed it. (thankfully I didn't need it).

Rye Tavern is housed in a charming 1770's building, exuding a romantic and rustic ambiance. The menu changes every seven weeks to incorporate fresh produce from its half-acre farm, infusing traditional American dishes with seasonal ingredients. With a farmer on staff and the Rye Garden just steps away, the restaurant prides itself on its farm-to-table concept, using freshly harvested produce and local ingredients in their creative menu and handcrafted cocktails.
A friend recommended this restaurant and it did not disappoint. I visited on the weekend, and since I was by myself, I decided to sit out in the bar area outside. The bartender was amazing. Service was excellent, the atmosphere is cozy, and the food is excellent. I had a mocktail (Garden Spritz), and it was amazing. Definitely recommend. And for brunch, I had the B.E.C. it was amazing and so fresh. I will definitely be back.

Rye Tavern is a cozy spot! They have incredible drinks & food. The service is great as well - the staff are very welcoming & friendly. It's a small spot, so I'd suggest making a reservation ahead of time. They have a really nice outdoor patio & bar as well. Highly recommend!

A hidden gem 💎 located off a dirt road near the Pine Hills. I was amazed by the flowered landscape, cabana covered tables, tables with umbrellas, inside dining, outside ambiance or the large outdoor open air bar with plenty of seating. The food was delicious and the presentation was superb. Definitely returning again.

Lovely historical tavern recommended to us by our host. Didn’t disappoint. BYOB which was good to have as we had been wine tasting in the Hudson area prior to our visit. Corkage a little steep but probably on par with others in the area.

Really wanted to love this place, we grew up in the area for over 4 decades, were excited to spend the money on a great meals, a treat...staff,in its entirety, rude, dismissive and unprofessional. Gossiping and chatting about other staff members, while offering dirty looks around the place. Very cold dispositions, uncomfortable vibe amongst all the toxic banter in front of guests. No smiles, straight up rude as if we were doing them a favor to patron the establishment. Food, all of it laden with salt, couldn't taste the "farm on the table" No inquiry on liquor for mixed drink, got well, small portions and boring. All OF IT was salt laden. Do better,RT, your in the hospitality industry, smile whether you want to or not. Charming rustic atmosphere was amazing but not worth the loot, sadly. Try out scarlet oak or sun tavern for the local rustic haunted tavern vibe.

Great historical tavern, it was nice to be a part of this history. We didn’t eat, but every person that walked out the door talked about how delicious their food was. The Barmaid was very friendly and attentive. The cocktail menu was extensive and again the Barmaid said that if it wasn’t on the menu, she could probably make it if we asked. Very cute cottage like facility. We’d go back and recommend this tavern 100%.. cheers! ……Follow me and my travels on instagram if you like at #mylifemyterms55

Tavern On The Wharf is a laid-back restaurant nestled in Plymouth, MA, USA, offering a seafood-centric menu that showcases the finest and freshest local seafood. With its harbor views and patio seating, it provides a delightful dining experience for seafood enthusiasts. In addition to its delectable cuisine, the restaurant is also known for its craft cocktails and fast foods.
Tavern On The Wharf was a great stop! We were seated right away, no wait at all, and our server Mia was fantastic—super friendly and helpful. The buffalo chicken dip was hot, cheesy, and packed with flavor. The burger was tasty, and I appreciated the gluten-free bun option. The kids’ cheese pizza was unexpectedly large—basically a full pizza, which was a great surprise. The margarita flight was colorful and tropical, with watermelon, guava, and strawberry flavors. The oysters were smaller than expected for $3 apiece, but still fresh and enjoyable. Overall, we left full and satisfied—for about $80 total. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!

Today, I decided to grab some takeout from Tavern on the Wharf. I’ve been here a few times before with no issues.. until today. I ordered the California Chicken Sandwich and I emphasize sandwich because nowhere on the menu does it indicate it’s served open-faced. When I opened my meal (thankfully not far from the restaurant), I found half of the sandwich, the melted cheese and chicken completely stuck to the inside the to-go box lid. When I tried to remove it, the paper lining from the box came off with the cheese. Obviously, I wasn’t about to eat a sandwich with paper melted into it, so I returned to the restaurant. I spoke with the same hostess I had just seen, and she told me a new sandwich would be made. That seemed like a reasonable solution.. or so I thought. When I got back to my car and took a look before leaving, I was extremely disappointed to find that the sandwich had not been remade. Instead, the original sandwich, the same one with the melted cheese and paper had simply been transferred into a new box, with the cheese shifted and re-melted (along with an extra slice), and the top bun placed on as if it were fresh. At that point, I went back in a third and final time, now clearly frustrated. I spoke with a different hostess, explained the entire situation again, and was asked if I wanted another sandwich. At that point, I declined. After being served the same **contaminated food** twice, I no longer had any trust that the kitchen would correct the issue. I requested and received a refund. I’m sharing this so others are aware and make sure to double-check their takeout orders. This happened on a Saturday around 3 PM. Honest mistakes happen, but serving food with packaging stuck in it, then trying to pass off the exact same food as “new,” is unacceptable, unprofessional, and disappointing.

It's a hip place on the water, I guess. I came to the patio bar first bc I like being outside and asked if I could order a meal out there and she said yes but she couldn't serve drinks because she didnt have any out there yet. So I decided to go in and wait for a table. Both hostesses were aloof and unfriendly, so I just asked if I could get a seat at the bar, and they said yes, so I went and found one (there were several open). Waited almost 10 minutes to even get a menu and ask for a drink order, and in that time, I saw two other parties leave from the bar out of frustration without being served. So when I finally did get a menu, I decided not to get any drinks and just o my order to go. It took another 20 minutes for a grilled chicken sandwich and side salad. The guy next to me noticed how many people weren't being served, and he told me he decided he wasn't going to order a meal like several others. I did get my takeout sandwich finally, and while it was packaged nicely, there were no utensils in it, and I had to ask for them. As for the food, the salad had tons of wilted greens in it, but the greens that were fresh were pretty tasty. The sandwich was cold, which is weird because I went to eat it only about 4 minutes after she brought it to me (and that's including the couple minutes waiting for the silverware. Also, it was supposed to have a Chipotle ranch on it, and there was ZERO trace of Chipotle, let alone any other trace of a condiment. I would try them again because I never judge on just one visit, and if so, I will amend or post a new review, however, for the time being, I wasnt too impressed with the food or service. One positive note, though, I specifically chose this place after looking at several menus in the area. The prices were a few $ cheaper for some of the same items at other places, so I will give them that.

Worst of dining ever…I wish the manager would have felt properly so that I did not have to say anything. This is a photo of our nachos that we waited an hour an a half for. they were not even properly cooked raw cheese all over the chips but we were so hungry after waiting an hour for an appetizer we had to eat it. The manager did nothing to remedy the situation. We put our whole order in at 6 and did not get food until 7:30. The waiter said the kitchen lost our ticket about 45 minutes after we sat and asked where our food was and we had to repeat the whole order over again. The waiter was clearly confused and under the influence. We had to go get our own utensils and because the waiter was confused we ordered our own drinks at the bar instead. It was not even a busy night. Really sad and disappointing experience. More to write but I’m sure my party will also be complaining.

A hot buttered roll for $40 was under meat and a little soggy so if you’re thinking of a lobster roll, I would pass the oysters were great. The fried pickles were wonderful and the fried calamari was delicious great atmosphere right downtown they had cornhole in the back. They have enough seating. The Waite staff was overworked so we could not complain, but she was very accommodating.

Gotta love seaside dining in Plymouth! We wanted to try someplace new, so the first reason to go to TOTW is location, location, location! We sat on the patio outside facing the ocean, just like we wanted. I was happy to try a margarita flight, which I discovered thanks to another Google review/picture. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get my first choice, seafood Alfredo, but the Sole Picatta was great with roasted fingerling potatoes, garlicy green beans, capers and lemon wheel. The kids fish and chips was reasonably priced and she ate all of the fish, which is great because the kid is a very picky eater! TOTW may not be a safe bet if time is a factor, but if you're in no rush, I would say it's worth the wait! There was some miscommunication initially but our server Kayla(?) was very nice and I'm a proactive guest so it all worked out. We intend to return and hopefully I will be able to try the seafood Alfredo. I used to order that from The Fours in Quincy years ago. I hope it's as good as I remember🤞 *I almost forgot to mention the live music! That was a very nice way to end the meal.

The food overall was quite good, with the raw bar being a standout highlight—both the tuna and oysters were incredibly fresh and flavorful, showcasing the restaurant’s attention to quality seafood. However, I was slightly disappointed with the cod risotto. While the presentation was appealing, the dish didn’t quite meet my expectations in terms of flavor balance or texture. It felt like it could have used a bit more seasoning or a touch of creativity to match the excellence of the other menu items That said, the ambience and service were outstanding. The restaurant has a warm, welcoming vibe, perfect for a relaxed evening by the water. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely seemed to care about the dining experience. Overall, I’d happily recommend Tavern on the Wharf, especially for seafood lovers. I’d return for the raw bar and the great atmosphere, but might explore other main courses next time

Sat at the bar and ordered a dozen oysters and a Quahog Stuffy. It took 45 minutes for it all to come out. The oysters were good, but not shucked properly for easy removal of the meat. Also, the size to price ratio is sad ($3 per oyster). The stuffy came out and, while it was good, was a little bit above lukewarm. Our bartender was friendly and apologized for the delay. FOH was on top of everything where it seemed like BOH was severely lacking in manpower and efficiency. Will not be returning.

Seafood restaurant
Bar
East Bay Grille is an elegant waterfront eatery located in Plymouth, Massachusetts. It offers a fine dining experience with traditional New England seafood and steak options. The restaurant features a variety of dishes including lobster salad rolls, fish and chips, shrimp cocktail, lobster pie, Seafood Kristopher, seared ahi tuna, and their unique take on the classic lobster and crab Rangoon.
The oysters were incredibly fresh and the risotto balls were absolutely delicious — crispy on the outside and perfectly creamy inside. The seafood risotto was rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The service was attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience even better. Beautiful waterfront setting and great atmosphere — a wonderful spot to enjoy seafood and relax by the harbor.

East Bay Grill is a prime spot on Plymouth’s main waterfront street, perfectly situated for anyone looking to enjoy the charm of the harbor. The back patio they have, offers a stunning ocean view, where you can watch incoming boats, fishermen at work, and even spot some local sea life—it’s the perfect setting for celebrating special events, enjoying a casual meal with friends, or just dining with a view. it’s a really big hangout spot for locals at night too so if you plan on a low-key evening, this is probably not the spot for you. Service is always kind, quick, and reliable—they’ve never messed up an order in all the times I’ve dined with them. The food is fresh and showcases some of the best New England seafood around, though portion sizes can vary at times, like with their clam chowder shown. My only downside is that the indoor AC is often cranked up, making dining inside uncomfortably cold, but the overall experience—especially outside—can be hard to be in downtown Plymouth

I’m not a fan of the East Bay Grill because I had a couple of horrific food experiences. But we were in the area, it was a holiday and my favorite restaurant, The blue eyed crab was closed, so I figured I would give the Bay another chance and I’m so happy I did.!! We sat outside at the patio: it was just so beautiful and relaxing! We started off with the calamari, it was very good, cooked perfectly, not chewy and a perfect crunch! A pet peeve with calamari is when they give you half squid and half fried peppers, I didn’t order fried peppers. I ordered calamari.!! There was a few peppers, but not half the order( totally acceptable)🌶️🌶️👍 I ordered the lobster roll at market price. It was $39 totally worth it.! the lobster had the perfect amount of mayo and celery, and they didn’t fill the roll up with lettuce. The french fries were soft inside and crunchy outside and were very well seasoned. My husband got the swordfish BLT and he said it was delicious. The swordfish was tender and fresh and they didn’t lather it in sauce! Be warned though, it is messy! Service was just okay, she did her job, but her customer service skills need improvement. Overall I had a great time, food fabulous, atmosphere exceptional, service okay.

A nice spot for seafood on the waterfront. We overall enjoyed our food and drinks, but the experience on a whole didn’t really meet our expectations. The broiled seafood dishes were good, as was the lobster. The seafood risotto was tasty, but seemed like way too much risotto and not enough seafood for the price. The salad was wilted and overdressed. Desserts were also a little hit or miss, but we enjoyed the massive slice of carrot cake. It was incredibly busy (as expected for a weekend during the summer) but it still took a really long time for food to come out. At the end of our meal the place seemed to be turning more into a bar, and there was a huge line waiting to get in when we left. It’s definitely worth a try, but it wasn’t our vibe and was too expensive for the amount of seafood you actually got.

Had a great meal at East Bay Grille! We tried the lobster roll, kids’ chicken fingers, pasta primavera, the chicken sandwich and the seafood risotto — and everything was delicious. The pasta primavera was especially good, loaded with fresh vegetables and cooked perfectly. Portions were generous across the board, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality and amount of food. Service was friendly and attentive. We sat out on the patio, which was lively, sunny, and a perfect spot to enjoy a summer day. Drinks were great too — a solid all-around experience. We’ll definitely be back!

We had our rehearsal dinner and welcome party at East Bay Grille & we can’t say enough about it! The food was absolutely delicious and the portions were huge! We had so much fun and the Alcove room was perfect for 35 guests. Gelany was super professional and responsive during the booking process and everything ran smoothly day of!

Headed to East Bay to share this waterfront favorite with my boyfriend. Although outdoor seating was not available due to the cool weather, we were thrilled to get a table right away anyway. Things worked out for the best. We had incredible service right off the bat from our server, Maleek. He was friendly, warm, and fun, and made sure that we had a great night. When there was a mix up with my order, Maleek apologized and remedied the issue immediately, even going the extra mile to treat us to a second round of drinks ( my blueberry vojito was delicious!) The appetizers (calamari and crab & lobster rangoons ). were amazing, as well as our entrees (steak tips and pistachio salmon). Maleek even sent us home with a tiramisu I am still dreaming about. Hospitality and authenticity like Maleek’s are rare, so we wanted to thank him for an entertaining and great date night. We’ll be back in his section soon!

This place is more upscale. It is right on the water. We did not realize they had free valet parking, and we struggled to find a place to park and then had to locate the little box to pay for our spot. Oh my gosh, the good here was so good. The prices were very reasonable and it was a lot of food. They also serve bread prior to your meal. Everything was so fresh and tasted good. The lobster mac and cheese is the way to go! Loaded with lobster and so creamy. The lobster was easy to crack and eat and comes with 2 sides (a lot of food for $35). Wowza, the chicken salad was enough for 3 people. The clam chowder was a full bowl and hot. It has a delicious roux and comes with oyster crackers.

What a fantastic restaurant located in the heart of Plymouth, Massachusetts. We ordered a number of different dishes for the table tonight, and each one was great. The service was excellent as well. Salt is definitely one of the best restaurants in town. We would highly recommend it here!

Came for date night - wish we came here sooner! Everything was absolutely delicious. Went on a Sunday night so it wasn't super busy, definitely think that contributed to a positive atmosphere. The waygu tataki was my favorite of our "appetizers". I think the udon was a special, but it was fantastic. The smashburger absolutely crushed my craving for a burger it was perfect. The fries were great too, salty and crisp. Highly recommend, don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu!

Absolutely phenomenal experience at Salt Raw Bar — a true gem! From the moment we arrived, the location set the tone: coastal charm meets elevated elegance. Now, the food — incredible. Every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with fresh, bold flavors. The oysters were pristine and the creative small plates left us wanting more (in the best way). This place is a standout — the kind of spot you can’t wait to come back to and bring friends. Five stars all around!

Stopped by Salt for some dinner. Wow... it was great. Sat at the bar and started with a Vitamin Sea Elusive on draft. Nice Hazy beer. Moved onto the Shrimp Tempura appetizer, and it was absolutely fantastic. Finally had Johnny's smash burger and it was great as well. Comes with thin fries. Very good overall experience.

I dined at Salt Raw Bar in Plymouth this past Saturday evening and had an incredible experience — truly above and beyond! I always enjoy my visits to Salt, but this one was exceptional. My waitress, Bailey, was absolutely amazing. She went out of her way to accommodate all of my dietary needs (and trust me, I have quite a few!). She was so knowledgeable about the menu, taking the time to explain what dishes I could safely enjoy, and her friendly, patient attitude made the experience even better. A huge shoutout as well to the kitchen staff for being so accommodating and flexible. It’s rare to find a restaurant that goes the extra mile to make guests with dietary restrictions feel so cared for. Thank you, Salt, for another outstanding meal — I can’t wait to come back!

We had an absolutely great meal here to celebrate my birthday last week. Great cocktails - try the hibiscus margarita 😊😊Interesting menu with something for everyone - enough sharing type appetisers to allow you to try many things. The tuna was particularly good!

Atmosphere was a little loud (we were in the covered area so maybe that's why) but the staff was very nice. The food and drinks were wonderful!!! We were 9 and split a bunch of plates which worked out great and was actually relatively affordable for the quality and deliciousness of the food. I would happily go back again!

Great food, ambience and staff.. We had the most delicious lobster ravioli pasta with lots of lobster and a wonder sauce and perfect pasta. Also the linquine and clams were fresh and the again the homemade pasta was terrific. Also the chicken saltimbocca was prepared with a very nice sauce and not to salty which can happen with this dish. They also have a great wine selection by the glass and the prices are quite reasonable for the quality. For sure our go to Italian whenever we stop in Plymouth.

It's great. Get there on time though... limited bar options mostly wine. Bread is amazing. Little deviating from menu but don'treally need to. If you don't like cozy you won't like this place. Food was awesome though.

This is my new favorite Italian spot in Plymouth. It is like going to the north end. The chicken parmigiana was lights out. Soup was delicious. Service was on point. This place is very small “ like 8 tables” so expect to hear your neighbor talk. But like I said before Food is amazing
