Sundial Bridge is a stunning architectural gem that gracefully spans the Sacramento River, designed by the renowned Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava. This pedestrian bridge not only serves as a vital link between Turtle Bay Exploration Park's museum and its beautiful Arboretum and Gardens but also acts as a gateway to Redding’s expansive Sacramento River National Recreation Trail.
This place was very cool! We've got to go back when we have more time. Parking is free, which is great and there is plenty of it. The park is huge... there are electric scooters and bikes you can rent to ride around. There were a lot of people just on leisurely evening strolls. My wife and I went by the lake and just sat for a few after taking our time across the bridge. It was an absolutely beautiful view on both sides. There were kayakers and tubers on the river. It was also doggy walking hour 🤭 Plenty of furry friends enjoying a stroll. Very peaceful place. There apparently is a restaurant on site as well but we went too late. 😣 next time !

Beautiful place to just sit and relax. The river flowing below has a wide bank and feels magical with the water stream resembling raindrops on the surface. It's pretty cool on a summer evening. Lots of people (not overcrowded) and friendly families around. The car park is extremely close, so it's not much of a hassle to walk it up.
Shripad K — Google review
Do visit this place if you visit Redding. The whole bridge is lit up at night making it a surreal experience. They also have bikes and scooters that you can rent. Bike rentals felt cheaper than the scooters. Many scenic trails besides the river. So take your time and have fun exploring the place. Sunday they had the farmers market setup.

This cool, architectural wonder in Redding is at Turtle Bay Exploration Park is super cool. Use the QR code at the beginning for an audio guided tour with lots of cool information as you walk across. On the other side is an Arboretum and Botanical garden. The audio tour says that the bridge is lit up at night... how cool is that!

The Sundial Bridge is a beautiful spot with a great view of the water. It’s a relaxing place to walk, and there’s plenty for kids to enjoy. The nearby museum and park make it even better, offering both fun and learning opportunities. A wonderful place for a family outing. After parking there is a nice river and picnic area as well but it’s not clean space while I visited, this area isn’t connected to the bridge so not to worry!

A must visit place in Redding CA. The city has done an amazing job if constructing a unique educational piece of marvel. Enjoy the gorgeous views of sunset over Sacramento river. The majestic size of sundial is a landmark if Redding.
Rajesh R — Google review
The Redding Sundial Bridge is a magnificent engineering masterpiece. It is the largest working sundial in the world that is most accurate during the solstices and its shadow accurately tracks time daily from approximately 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM. The Sundial Bridge was designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava. The walkway has stunning views of the Sacramento River with all its wildlife and spectacular scenic views of the mountains.
Simona V — Google review
Very beautiful bridge day and nite. The only down side was there isn't much other things to do around, which makes our driving distance of about 4 hours each way not really worth it. I'd say it's a great attraction if you live closer or if you are on the way to somewhere else on a road trip, or here for hiking or rafting. The hotel right next to it is not worth it's value. I would recommend to stay a little further and save some money. The only value of it was the walking distance to the bridge. (Star did not deduct for this cause the main review was for the attraction)

Visitors can explore interactive displays, admire local artworks, or even step inside a recreated Native American bark house. This place is a lot of fun for all ages. They have art like beautiful trash sculptures and a Lego model of the Sundial Bridge. They have animals like fish, ducks, frogs and more. The staff were friendly. There was a lot of historical facts and cool relics

Great animal show! We loved the butterfly exhibit and the parrots! Perfect place to bring children, or like us a day time date. I recommend going early to beat the heat.

A Magical Night at Glowing Wild – Redding’s Radiant Hidden Gem If you’re looking for a night of wonder, beauty, and unforgettable memories in Redding, look no further than Glowing Wild. This lantern festival is unlike anything else in Northern California—an awe-inspiring blend of art, nature, and light that feels straight out of a fairytale. From the moment you step through the entrance, you're transported into a dreamlike world filled with giant illuminated sculptures. Towering tigers, graceful dolphins, luminous butterflies, and glowing floral arches line the walking paths, each more breathtaking than the last. The colors are vivid, the craftsmanship is exquisite, and the atmosphere is pure magic. What makes Glowing Wild truly special is how it transforms the familiar landscape of Turtle Bay and the McConnell Botanical Gardens into something otherworldly. The lanterns are perfectly placed to complement the natural surroundings, and as the sun sets, the entire area begins to glow with warmth and wonder. The iconic Sundial Bridge lit up in the background only adds to the surreal beauty.

We enjoyed our visit inside with several exhibits from fish to Legos to a steam punk special. Small but fresh and well curated. The outside was even more special with playgrounds, reptile house, and our favorite the buddies! 😍

What a fun family trip!! We are from southern Oregon and decided to check out Redding for the first time, with this being our first stop… and it did NOT disappoint!!! Everybody had an amazing time, my daughter is 12 and my son is 5 and both of them said that it was the best day. Beautiful well maintained landscaping and animal enclosures, extremely friendly staff. Tons of free giveaway stuff, perfect entertainment for the little ones! You can feed parrots - so fun! And during season you can go inside the butterfly house. It was extremely hot and humid when we went, it would have been nice if they had misters along the walkway/benches but other than that, such a fun memorable experience and we will definitely be back!!! Highly recommend
Kels — Google review
The park is 5 stars easy, very beautiful area, the museum I would give 3.5. It's interesting, not too big but I liked the birds and was there was a Steam Punk exhibit which was nice. The remaining areas were nice but somewhat limited. Some of the animals are in rather small enclosures. It's a bit expensive for a family visiting and maybe getting a souvenir or two. Older kids may get bored after an hour and for $22 each it would not be worth it. I recommend going to the park, hiking, enjoying the bridge, nature, and the many wild animals you can find in the park. I saw deer and a skunk among other things.
Remey R — Google review
This experience was amazing. There are so many things to do included in the admission fee. Our favorites were the dinosaur exhibit, butterfly house, and the bird house. Aside from the favorites everything else was great also. Something fun is that most of the exhibits have things for kids to touch. Hands on learning is when my daughter has the most fun so I appreciated this experience.
Carmen C — Google review
This place was amazing! Outdoor play areas and shows teaching kids about the wildlife in the park and within the area. The highlight for my kids were the butterfly conservatory and the parrot house - the kids got to look at both close up and really enjoyed identifying the different types. The train was also fun, and takes you over the Sundial bridge, which is beautiful! There's plenty of parking and the staff were really friendly and helpful. All in all, a good full day of fun with the kids :)

The Cascade Theatre, a beloved community venue since 1935 and now listed on the National Register of Historic Places, offers a diverse array of regional and national performances in music, theater, comedy, and film. The preserved 1930s Art Deco interior design provides a stunning backdrop for these events. Additionally, it serves as an event space with 3,000 square feet of beautiful area featuring a full kitchen and ample parking. The friendly staff ensures that guests have an enjoyable experience.
What a beautifully restored piece of history! Every seat is a great seat. The bathrooms were large and clean. The lines moved quickly and efficiently. Easy to get to and parking was a breeze. I have purchased tickets for future events as this was my first event. Very nice and I recommend the Cascade.

All of our family has so much fun all the time I love that outfit is so nice. They’re really nice. I love them and it’s so fun. They give you a break between hours and stuff to go get my popcorn.

I am new to this area but have attended two events at this beautiful theater. I have seen "The Temptations " and recently, the " Summer City Nights" which is a tribute group to ABBA. Both performances were very good. The theater is well organized, opened on time, and the performances started on time. The seating is good and the sound system is very good. For evening events, there is plenty of free parking with a block. I highly recommend the theater.
Robert L — Google review
Pretty cool venue, pretty much not a bad seat in the house. Bethel Music had two nights of worship at this venue and it was a fun evening. Parking is easy and the seats are comfortable. The only drawback was the higher the seats the harder it was to see the words of the worship music, in order, to join in the singing. Also, depending on where someone sat, the lights that were being used that night on the stage, were a tad blinding only because of their strobe light flashing effect.
Pam — Google review
This was my first time attending a production here and I was WOW'ed! Absolutely incredible actors, amazing production and incredibly beautiful theater! The staff that scanned our tickets were super helpful and kind. Security was friendly and helpful as well. A++++experience! Can't wait to return!

It is usually great. But the AC was out last Saturday and we had to leave early. If they know the AC is out, plug in some fans.

I love this place! I thoroughly enjoy going to their spring musicals and Cascade Christmas musicals every year for the past 3 years. Top quality singing and acting for the most part. And of course I can't not talk about the building. It's such a fun experience visiting a place from the art deco era. They've done a great job with restoring. Everywhere you look something beautiful.

A great place for a walk year around!! But the light show is always a fantastic time!! They do a very good job of changing it up and making it new every year!! Worth all the memories! I've attached picture from the Christmas lights of '23 and '24 and their new spring addition in 2023!!

I wanted to come back at night, but it was the night they were closed. We came back through on our way home, and the storm came through. I guess I'll enjoy the fact that I got to see it at all, and the white rabbit happened to be there. I wanted to follow him, but alas, responsibilities

I’ve been enjoying this park, the light festivals, Sundial Bridge and its activities, and Turtle Bay for many years. The river trails are peaceful and easy to walk (with more challenging trails for those who like a bit more of a hike). It’s one of my favorite places to go, and a great place for me to take photos. There’s a little something for everyone in and around Turtle Bay and the Sundial Bridge. (If you do go at night pleeease be careful and never go alone!) *(any and all photos posted are the intellectual property of account owner 😊 They may not be used, altered, and/or copied, etc under copyright laws).

We saw dear very close to us. It was a beautiful experience. Can't wait to come back and explore more here.

More like a park than a Botanical Garden or Arboretum. We visited during a light show event period so there were decorations along the main walkway of the gardens. The gardens we came to see were roped off. We didn't find any plant markers along the main walkway. We did a loop walk along what I believe was the Arboretum but we didn't see any markers there either so we didn't know what we were looking at.

Restaurant
Jack's Grill is a long-standing dining establishment in Redding, offering a sophisticated menu of prime steaks, fresh seafood, salads, and signature cocktails. The restaurant features 1930s decor with dim lighting and old-style booths and tables. It has been a favorite among families for generations. The full-service bar provides a selection of fine wines and classic cocktails. While the cozy atmosphere adds to its charm, some guests find the space cramped during busy times.
Stopped by on Saturday night around 9pm and there were a couple of tables left. Ordered the top sirloin rare which came out perfectly. The fries were delicious as well and the martini was great. Would love to return.
Alice C — Google review
The menu is good - very classic steakhouse. The homemade salad dressings are great - but the edge goes to Thousand Island! NY Steak was seasoned impeccably and served well. However, inexplicably the baked potato was not thoroughly cooked, and neither were the French fries with the fried chicken. The seasoning for the fried chicken was AWOL. Using lots of salt and pepper with the table shakers weren't enough to salvage it. Dark meat was cooked well, but wow was the white meat cooked to death and dry as the Mojave. Staff was pleasant and attentive. Probably wouldn't return but it does have a classic Redding vibe from the 1930's: was pretty classic.
Mark P — Google review
The vibe, the aura of this place, it’s all incredible. The steak was out of this world. We stumbled upon jacks from out of town on a roadtrip and couldn’t stop thinking about it after. This should be a pilgrimage for men who like steak

Still the Best Steak in the World – 40 Years Later at Jack’s In 1988, fresh out of training and suited up for my very first day on the job, I found myself sweating through a worsted wool suit in Redding, California—on what turned out to be one of the hottest days on record at a sweltering 118 degrees. A young African American kid from the inner city of Flint, Michigan, I felt completely out of place. My boss gave me one piece of advice before I called it a night: “Promise me you’ll grab a steak at Jack’s.” So I did. I walked into a packed Jack’s Grill, and the first thing I saw behind the bar wasn’t a wine list or a maître d’—it was bull riding on TV. Bull riding! I nearly turned right around. But a promise is a promise. The host told me the wait would be 45 minutes to an hour—a perfect excuse to retreat to the comfort of my hotel and order room service. But something made me stay. When my name was called, I discovered Jack’s had a policy I’d never heard of before: if you were a party of one or two, they seated you with other solo diners to fill a table. Yet again, I almost bailed. But everyone had been surprisingly friendly, so I stuck it out. And thank God I did. That night I ordered the filet mignon—and it wasn’t just good, it was life-changing. Perfectly cooked, seasoned with something magical, and melt-in-your-mouth tender. It was hands down the best steak I’d ever had. That night marked the beginning of a love affair. For over a decade, every time work took me to Redding, Jack’s was my non-negotiable dinner stop. And when I no longer traveled there for work? I’d still occasionally make the 2-hour drive from Sacramento just for that steak. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of dining at some of the most renowned steakhouses in the world: New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle, Miami, Hong Kong, Tokyo (even Kobe), Montreal, Vancouver, Rome, Paris, Saint-Tropez, you name it. The only place that even came close was a little gem in Rome’s Jewish Ghetto—but even that couldn’t quite top Jack’s. Fast forward nearly 40 years later. I took my father to the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene, Oregon, and mid-track meet, a wild idea hit me: “If we head out right after this ends, we can make it to Jack’s before they close at 10 PM.” Five hours later, we pulled into Redding. Jack’s looked almost exactly the same. And the steak? Still flawless. Still the best I’ve had anywhere on the planet. Funny thing is—I can’t recall what happened on that first day of my now long and successful career. But I remember every single detail about that first steak at Jack’s. So here’s my advice: if you’re ever within 100 miles of Redding and love a great steak, don’t miss Jack’s. Trust me, it’s not just a meal—it’s a memory waiting to happen. Jack’s isn’t just the best steakhouse in Redding—it’s the best steakhouse in the world.
Cloyce D — Google review
Haven't been here in almost 30 years, but if it's anything like I remember, it's a must-visit steakhouse if you want the best pan-fried steak you've ever eaten! The atmosphere is amazing, too. I live near Seattle, but during my childhood, my family would spend a week at Shasta Lake, and we ALWAYS went into Redding just for Jack's Grill! ,
Larsbupp L — Google review
We love Jack's. Their food is pretty good-steaks are for sure the best thing in the menu, fried chicken was okay. Service is almost perfect and atmosphere is great. They would have received a 5 in the service department but we were highly disappointed with our most recent trip. This was the first time we went with a group, not just my husband and I. My husband, sister and I ordered 2 meals for the 3 of us to share . We did not ask for ANYTHING to be split by the kitchen. We never even told the waitress we were splitting anything. For all she knew, one of us could have been eating the appetizer we ordered. She took it upon herself to bring 2 extra plates and then charge us $8 for it!!!! Seriously ridiculous. That would have been over the top if they HAD split it for us in the kitchen but they didn't. I disputed the charge and the waitress said that is just policy when someone doesn't order a meal! I'm sorry, what!? Definitely changed my mind about how much they actually care about the customer and how much they are just greedy for free money. They literally got $8 extra dollars out of us for plates we did not ask for and did not use. Outrageous Jack's. Do better.

Best ground steak I've ever eaten - delicious- cooked to perfection.

3 generations of my family have been eating at Jacks. Cocktails are mixed well and it’s the only place to get a steak in Redding in my opinion. It’s usually an older normal crowd which I like personally. Great bartender, service, food and small delicious menu. What else could you ask for.

The food is fresh and hearty, with artisanal pizzas being one of their standout offerings. What sets Mosaic apart is its Doggy Menu, complete with dog-friendly ice cream.
The food was really good. Salmon cakes were well cooked and delicious, the sauce with the cakes was great. Burger was cooked to perfection as well. It took a bit of time to arrive though. Service was great, didn't hurry us(I was eating pretty slow) and got the check when we said we were ready.

Walking distance to the sundial bridge. Friendly staff on a busy evening. The Mexican corn soup was delicious. The blue berry drinks were refreshing on a hot day. The steak was tasty. Wings were a bit soggy but tasted great. Overall a solid spot for dinner.

Conveniently located next door to Redding Sheridan hotel, this is a casual suburban restaurant with pleasant decor and large screens in the bar area. Comfortable seating in a number of areas inside and out, and a nice busy buzz that allows for pleasant conversation. My husband ordered Redwood IPA and a burger he scored 7 out of his all time favorite 10. He reported it delicious and plentiful but wished for a few slices of bacon and more cheese. His heart is grateful for what he was served- ha! I enjoyed the beet salad with a grilled chicken tender. The fresh crisp greens were undressed which makes them less tasty. The blended beet dressing swirled into the bowl was dull. Dining room staff people were fantastic. Very attentive and friendly. Clearly they are making an effort to provide a good experience for diners.

The food was decent, average. I got the Lamb Smash Burger and I don’t think the description of the ‘Sando’ matched that I got. The description said two 3oz patties but the meat was very thin and flat. I liked the taste of the olives on the burger but I wish it had more flavor and weight. It was very light and the brioche bun was pretty dry. Rosemary Fries were cooked perfectly to my preference but again I wish it had more seasoning, as I didn’t taste the rosemary or enough salt. Cute restaurant overall.

I have been to Mosaic 4-5 times and the last 3 times have been great but this last visit was spectacular. It started with quick seating outdoors under trees and shade. Comfortable scenery and open to well behaved doggies. We went during happy hour so they had some amazing deals going on. Our waiter approached our table and quickly I thought is he old enough to work here? Well YES HE WAS! Do not question this server ability to take care of a customer. I asked him about the happy hour drinks and he was able to recommend and provide his personal input on the lemon drop. So glad I wet my whistle with this one. It was sweet but just the right amount and then the citrus le On hits your pallet and sings. I was a bit toasty after half a glass. So delicious and happy hour menu item. Then comes the snacky snacks! Fried pickles! Probably hands down the best, freshest and crunchiest pickles I have had. Spot on! Next the delicious wood fired 1000 peaks pizza. If you like pineapple on pizza this is a must try. JP checked and interacted with us the perfect amount of time, accommodated us and did not forget a single detail. Definitely will be back. Quality food and great drinks, upscale without out a hefty price tag. Go now!

I recommend the food, the portions are a bit small for the price but the food is tasty. I got the blackberry smash and beet salad with chicken.

I really wanted to give 4 stars but the Asparagus really disappointed me. They were about 6 to 7 but not tender and very much like chewing fiber! Avocado toast was good. Pizza was decent with thin crust which is good. Sadly, fries weren’t great. There was no hint of rosemary or garlic as mentioned in the menu, and they had some funny taste. Ice cream sandwich was superb! Kids loved it. My family tried vegetarian options and I wanted vegan and didn’t have any beverages so can’t comment on them. But glad to see so many choices for vegetarians. Will really appreciate if you add vegan burgers (use some beans vegetable patties, not just soy though). Service was very friendly and staff was great. It has good ambience too.

Absolutely fantastic service, food, and environment! Deja vu is of my #1 places to go for breakfast!! It is always relaxing, and I never feel rushed regardless of how busy they are. I'm also not a person who camps out at a table, either. (Former server) The food and service are always spot on! It is affordable, and the portions are huge! It is spotless and very clean too. On Sunday, they had the patio open. We sat inside the restaurant it was still too warm for the people I was with for breakfast. It was very busy, but we were seated within 10 minutes at the most. Definitely, will be back again. Forgot to get pictures because I was hungry. Ha ha !

Best pancakes I've ever had, speaking as a person that doesn't care for pancakes. Fluffy and tasty. And the Carmel mocha whatever iced coffee drink I had was amazing! 11/14/24 Another breakfast knocked out of the park! Deja Vu is consistently over the top. There is a wait in the mornings but it is well worth it. Servers are so amazing, friendly, and take care of anything you need. Food is fantastic, I just can't say enough about them. From excellent service, to delicious food, large portions, everything is perfect! We had the awesome Adela for our server today. This lady is one of the best I've ever experienced. What a sweetheart! Best breakfast in Redding hands down! 08/03/24 We've forgotten how amazing breakfast at Deja Vu is! My son and granddaughter invited us for breakfast and we were quickly reminded how awesome it is. The food was perfectly prepared, and delivered in abundance! I'll share photos but in no way can you see the deliciousness in these pics. And Asley absolutely killed it as our server. What a sweetheart! That girl can carry 20 plates at once! Lol! Fantastic breakfast! 02/26/2024 First visit to the new location. Same great food and excellent service! Debbie was our server and she is always amazing! Today is my wife's birthday and she could have gone anywhere, and she chose Deja Vu! Sometimes the wait is long but the food is so worth it! Everytime we have been here, the food, whether breakfast or lunch has been amazing! The wait staff is always great but this time we had Heather. She is the best waitress we have ever had in our many years of dining out. Heather went the extra mile to make our visit more than a meal, it was a dining experience! If there were more than 5 stars we would give them more!

Our 1st time visiting here and we had an amazing time! Food and drinks were delicious! The turtle cheesecake was perfect! Great service, and we did not feel rushed while the group of us chatted and caught up visiting.

I was traveling through town with my pups and saw they were dog friendly. I called ahead and they were very nice. When I got there (was just me and my 2 small pups in a stroller), They were very nice.. Service was great too.. I received the bill and of course left a nice tip. Upon leaving, I had to go through the restaurant to exit and was trying to open the door and get my dogs stroller through, and my waitress was right there walking towards us, and didn't offer to get the door or help us at all Upon leaving. I was very nice to her when I was there and said I appreciated her service. I was having a tough time and just needed some caring service..and didn't feel it otherwise the food was great

Great dinner spot! The food was all very good, my only complaint is that my steak was very expensive and it was pretty thin. Drinks were good and service was awesome. I'd definitely come again!

Vintage Public House hosted our dinner for 35 guests, and everything was exceptional. Star was our server and did a phenomenal job. She handled our group’s special requests with grace, efficiency, and enthusiasm. Planning the event was easy, and communication with the Vintage team was consistently responsive and friendly. If you’re looking to host a corporate dinner in the Redding area, I highly recommend this venue. Thanks to their excellent service, our event was a rousing success!

We were excited to try Vintage since it's touted as being among the best in Redding but it fell flat. It was super loud, they ran out of rice by 7:00, my cucumber jalapeño margarita and my chicken were bland, they forgot to put dressing on my husband's steak salad and the service was slow. Next time I'll eat somewhere else for $120.

thank you for a wonderful evening of good food and great drinks! Ahi tuna to start, lavender lemon drop, I ordered the chicken saltimbocca, husband got the ny strip, and ended with a FRESH, delicious margarita, best I’ve had in this town. Karline was our server and she was absolutely wonderful. Will definitely be back 😃

First time visiting Vintage Public House. We walked through the door and were immediately greeted by the hostess and taken to a table. The decor of the restaurant was warm and inviting. Menus, including a drink menu, were provided. It didn't take long for our server to arrive and drinks were ordered. After drinks arrived we ordered our food. We did not have to wait long for our food to arrive. Large plates, with large portions, well presented, in my opinion. The food tasted good, with good flavors and was served at an appropriate temperature. We had ordered the Cab Burger with Garlic Fries, Tofu bowl and Black Berry habañero street tacos. We enjoyed the drinks and the food. Now the not so great part. We arrived shortly after 5. So, as we drank and ate, the restaurant got busier. Unfortunately, our server had to attend to several other tables, including a group of ten. We also had 3 friends join us. Due to the busyness of the restaurant, we noticed there wasn't enough servers for the full restaurant. We waited well past 20 minutes to get one glass of water for our three additional friends. Then another 20 for two more glasses of water to arrive. By this time, we had decided that it was not going to be enjoyable to continue our visit, so we asked for our check. Seems things could have gone better. I wasn't able to try their great looking dessert, as I didn't want to wait the already unacceptable time to order it. I don't blame our server. It should be the Manager's responsibility to ensure customers are being taken care of in a timely manner. That didn't happen. I understand the limits of the current condition of personnel shortages. Seems a Saturday night should have a full staff. If not, there should be limits on the available tables to allow proper service for the customers. I haven't decided if I will give Vintage another opportunity for my patronage.

American restaurant
C.R. Gibbs American Grille is a relaxed restaurant and bar located in Redding, CA, attached to the Best Western hotel. The menu offers a variety of classic American dishes such as burgers, sandwiches, and salads. The restaurant features indoor and outdoor seating with an inviting atmosphere. While some patrons found the prices to be typical for this type of dining experience, others felt that certain items were on the pricier side.
We’re passing through town and our hotel was adjacent to the restaurant. I had the bbq pulled pork pizza and I really enjoyed it. The combination of the bbq sauce and the smoky pulled pork with the rest of the ingredients were spot on. Our dining experience was great, waitstaff were attentive and pleasant. Prices were a bit high for me but feel the food quality was worth it.

C.R. Gibbs is a very clean and comfortable place with modern aesthetics. The food is pricier, but you should expect that with a more refined menu that uses whole food ingredients as well as the more upscale ambiance. We had the poke nachos and fried grean beans. The nachos were pretty good, but I think it needs a sweeter, sesame sauce to really compliment the fish and other ingredients better. I only say this because I've had the far superior poke nachos from The Yardhouse. These were still very good nachos. This is just my own personal opinion, ofcourse. The fried green beans come with a ginger jalapeno aioli and it did not disappoint. This aioli was very good with the poke nachos. The green beans were crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside, and paired wonderfully with creamy and flavorful the aioli. We were treated well and cared for by the staff as well as you would expect. Good, not great, not bad, just good. 😃 No complaints.

I went to C.R. Gibbs to celebrate my 30th birthday with a party of 10, and it was such a great experience! We only had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated on a busy Friday night, and our server was quick to get waters for the table right away. The indoor atmosphere was perfect—warm but not too hot, with inviting lighting that made it feel like the kind of restaurant where you’d want to celebrate a milestone. Most of our group ordered the famous fish and chips, and they did not disappoint! The batter was perfectly crisp, the fish was light and flaky with delicious flavor, and the fries were cooked to perfection. My husband ordered the steak, and it cut like butter with amazing flavor. To top it off, the staff surprised me with ice cream and a candle to blow out while singing happy birthday, which made me feel so special. We were the last table to leave that night, but the team never rushed us—they were kind and gracious until the end. I’ll definitely be coming back!

I had the chicken Masala with mashed potatoes and asparagus and a pina colada. The waitress was great and provided excellent service. The restaurant was clean and not crowded.

Met our family in Redding for Thanksgiving dinner at a usually good restaurant. Maybe I should start with what was good. The bar tender fixed us up with some pre-dinner drinks. The hostess staff was top end and our server was efficient and friendly. I was a little worried before dinner that two men seated next to us at the bar did not eat their pumpkin pie. Once we were seated and our food arrived I noticed that we were served turkey loaf, raw string beans, powdered mashed potatoes, boxed stuffing and cranberry sauce that I am sure came from a can. As I suggested this restaurant I was embarrassed and disappointed that we chose CR Gibbs. Not sure if I will go back for any meals in the future.

Great bourbon and dinner event with C.R. Gibbs. They have a special private room for these events and the food was incredible. I highly recommend you try this place for your next event. I’ll be back again when I’m in the area.
