The Granbury Opera House, a historic venue located in the heart of Granbury's downtown square, has been meticulously restored to its former glory. Originally built in 1886, this iconic building features elegant twin curved staircases, imported chandeliers, and original limestone walls. The intimate seating arrangement ensures an exceptional view from every seat. Home to the Granbury Theatre Company, the Opera House hosts live musicals and comedies while also offering theater education programs.
Amazing place and the shows are always so good! We get season tickets because we never want to miss one. It is pretty chilly inside so I always take a little sweater so I can enjoy the show and not be cold.

Absolutely delighted! I am a nerd. But a nerd that will turn on my favorites getting poor renditions - this Pride and Prejudice play was done so well - I know so many of the lines by heart and the way they collapsed storylines without compromising the story - it was done so well. They did a great job and I don't have one thing to say bad about it.

just saw Young Frankenstein!! it was our first time watching a musical in person and it did not disappoint!! the performance was phenomenal. we fell in love with the characters and actors by the end. the absolute talent, staging and energy were outstanding and left us wanting more. thank you so much for an unforgettable performance!

We have been coming to the opera house since I was a child. They use amazing local talent to produce classic musicals and plays. We recently saw Singin’ in the Rain and Pride and Prejudice. There a great little candy store next door to grab a sweet treat before the play.
Sharla H — Google review
The show was so much fun! The one thing that wasn't great is when you're seated on the end, seats A 19 &20, there's a lot of times when part of the show is blocked by either props or actors. The place was really clean. My only complaint about the establishment is I wish they had a concessions type area, especially for drinks!
Cody B — Google review
Watched Elf, the musical. We loved the show, but the only reason we didn't give five stars is because to many very little kids that their parents wouldn't keep them quiet or take them out in the lobby. There should be an age limit. No babies. Update: My wife and I have been coming here for years. Besides Elf, everything else has been good. We just went to watch White Christmas, the play. It was very good. I liked the guy who walked really slow with a funny grin. My wife liked the lady in red who stayed behind the desk with a red dress. She was very funny and good at what she did. Update as of March 2, 2024: My wife and I just watched "My Fair Lady," and we loved it.

Gorgeous theater! Just saw Mary Poppins jr. I have to say, I was really impressed. The best money 💰 I have spent in a long time! I just moved to the area and this was my first experience here and I look forward to going again and again and again… Awesome job to everyone involved.
Sarah J — Google review
Fabulous and quaint place. The play we saw was “The Scrooge”. The actors were superb and the production itself couldn’t have been better. We loved it, the authenticity, the staff, the opera house itself. We will definitely go back.

Nature & Parks
Granbury City Beach Park is a picturesque public beach located on the shores of Lake Granbury, offering a range of activities for visitors. With its sandy shoreline and shimmering blue waters, it's an ideal spot to soak up the Texas sun. The park features sand volleyball courts, a splash pad for kids, picnic pavilions, and a boardwalk. Visitors can enjoy swimming in the lake or simply relax on the beach with a good book.
Nice place to bring the kids for the day. No grilling so bring food already made or sandwiches. Splash pad there but closed Mondays for cleaning. At least that's what the sign said. There are covered picnic tables spread out throughout the beach. And also a walkway over the water to enjoy a peaceful walk and enjoy the scenery because this place was beautiful! Water was pretty warm but what do ya expect it was August when we went. Needless to say we didn't stay for very long in the water. To warm . But we did enjoy the time we spent here

Very Nice public beach / swim area. Great location for families..kid friendly. Park is kept up and easy to get into with plenty of options for parking. Very close to downtown Granbury for food and snack options before or after beach time.

Granbury Square, located in the heart of Granbury, Texas, is a charming historic destination bustling with activity. The square is surrounded by boutique shops, art galleries, and delightful restaurants. Visitors can take a leisurely stroll around the area to admire its unique architecture and immerse themselves in the city's past by visiting attractions like the Hood County Jail Museum and the Granbury Opera House.
Very nice place to wander, with lots to do: shopping, drinking, eating, etc. Do venture off the square though, as there is more to explore. My favorites, Bob's off the Square, Brewdrinkery, and a new crepe place with sweet and savory options.
Eric W — Google review
Very quaint town square with lots of cute little shops and restaurants. There is a free parking lot just a little off the square if you don’t want to fight traffic on a busy day.
Jaimie J — Google review
The Historic Granbury Square, located in Granbury, Texas, is a vibrant blend of rich history, charming architecture, and small-town hospitality. Established in the late 1800s, the square is anchored by the iconic Hood County Courthouse, a striking example of Second Empire-style architecture that remains the heart of the community. Surrounding the courthouse are beautifully restored 19th-century buildings, which now house a variety of unique boutiques, antique stores, cozy cafes, wine bars, and fine dining establishments. One of the standout attractions on the square is the Granbury Opera House, which dates back to 1886. Restored to reflect its original grandeur, the opera house hosts live performances year-round, adding to the town’s cultural appeal. Visitors can also explore the old Hood County Jail, now a museum that tells stories of the town’s colorful past, including legends of famous outlaws like Jesse James and even whispers that John Wilkes Booth once lived there under an alias. The square isn’t just about history—it’s also a hub for community life. Throughout the year, it comes alive with festivals, art shows, and live music events. Farmers markets and seasonal celebrations make it a lively place for both residents and tourists. With its picturesque setting, walkable layout and sit out outside

This is quaint little town where you can hang out, walk, dine, shop, and just enjoy the day. There are many shops to walk in and enjoy a glass of wine, an ice cream, or a meal.

Specialty Museums
The Hood County Museum is an 1885 historic town jail that showcases numerous artifacts and offers tours of both the cells and sheriff's quarters. The museum is a must-visit for history enthusiasts with its plethora of informative displays, while others will appreciate the unique architecture of the upstairs jail. Additionally, visitors can immerse themselves in ghost stories connected to the building's past.
Nice tour! This jail was used until 1979. Tone of memorabilia with lots of information on the inmates. Jail has a connection with the Franklin Tennessee battle. If history is your thing it's worth the visit.
Max W — Google review
Make sure they’re open beforehand. Tried going Saturday around 3, they were closed even though the sign said they closed at 4. Then tried to go today (10/19 Sunday) at 1:30 and they were still closed. We had a big family trip and we wanted to see this (and the Yeats-Duke (also closed w/ same hours btw) but nothing. Tried to call in the parking lot and got immediately sent to voicemail. Please change your hours or include holiday hours if there were events. Would’ve been really cool to see and explore.

I loved this place! Got to learn about the jail and the county around it. We also got to see and go inside the the jail cell. It was great! The lady was very nice and knew a lot about the area
Audrey U — Google review
This museum itself was great. The front desk staff were incredibly rude. We came as a group with two children and one of them was a little frustrated when we first entered. We paid our bail and wrote our names down excitedly. While his aunt was trying to tell him that he needed to calm down or he would not join the museum tour, the front desk staff was starting the beginning of the tour without any warning. Instead of waiting for the aunt to finish getting the child in order, the older lady turned her face into a very rude snear and actually yelled at the aunt “can you tell her to shut up!” I have never experienced such a rude worker at any museum I’ve been to. She tried to make it throughout the tour by making jokes and being kind to the child when he apologized but overall it ruined the mood as well as the experience. If the staff is unable to handle children being a little fussy then they should have it be an adults only museum vs yelling at paying customers.
Haley R — Google review
The Hood County Jail and Historical Museum was such a great find! It was surprisingly dog friendly, although we held our little terriers most of the tour. The docents there are very knowledgeable and passionate about the Jail history and the history of Hood County. Upstairs has the jail holding areas, and downstairs has the old sheriff's quarters. There is also a few rooms that are dedicated more to Hood County history and have a museum feel to it. Our docent was super friendly and also took us over to see the historical cabin a few doors down. Highly recommended for any history buff!

American restaurant
Situated in downtown Granbury, Eighteen Ninety Grille and Lounge is a popular rustic bi-level eatery known for its upmarket American cuisine and extensive wine selection. The restaurant is highly recommended by locals and offers a unique dining experience that combines local flavors with history. The menu features a variety of options including small plates, soups, salads, entrees, and desserts.
The food was simply incredible - a circus of flavors that all complimented each other. I had the best pork I've ever eaten in my lifetime! Truly amazing! The only thing better was our service! Martha was gracious, smart, personal, and made the night absolutely perfect!!!

1890 is a true hole-in-the-wall gem, and it’s almost unbelievable that it’s in Granbury—it could easily hold its own in Dallas and absolutely thrive. The food is outstanding and consistently excellent, and the service is top-notch. They have a small shop where you can buy dressings and spice rubs. It’s set in a charming, old-fashioned atmosphere, it’s a perfect spot for a date night, family dinner, or special occasion, as it’s guaranteed to meet expectations. I highly recommend the duck. We gladly make the hour-and-a-half drive whenever we get the chance—it’s just that good.

This place is a must try. This may be the first time I’ve ever given a 10/10 rating to a restaurant on my first visit. The food was delicious, the restaurant has a wonderful decor and the service was exceptional!! Maezie our server and Meagan our server in training were just terrific. They treated us as if we were the only ones in the restaurant. The manager whose name I believe is Martha is the absolute best!! We will definitely be back.

Came here for my dads birthday and so glad we did. The food was incredible and the service and atmosphere were top notch! Can’t wait to come back!

We booked this restaurant as our first meal in Texas after a long drive and it could not have been better. Everyone was so welcoming and the service was attentive throughout our meal. The wine list was impressive and I enjoyed my cocktail which was well-made. You have to start with the Texas Trilogy as an appetizer. All 3 were mouth watering. While my companion's steak was cooked to his specifications and delicious, I did not regret getting the pan seared duck. It paired perfectly with the grits and the portion was exactly what I wanted after the appetizers. Definitely visit here for a special occasion or date night if you're in Granbury!

If you’re looking for that hidden gem where the food, service, and atmosphere all hit just right... this is it. I'm up in DFW just about everyday and this place reminds you why small-town spots are unbeatable. Great food and the service is always on point. Been there at least a half dozen times and will be back soon!

10 out of 10! I wish I would have thought to take pictures of the beautiful plated food we ordered. The appetizers, entrees, and dessert we had were all fantastic. And our waiter, Anthony, went above and beyond! Excellent service. When we go back, we will be asking for him for sure! Definitely making another visit soon.

Bistro
Christina's American Table is a locally owned bistro located in Granbury, offering an intimate dining experience on the square. The restaurant serves a variety of dishes including gourmet sandwiches, succulent meat and seafood entrees, along with brunch, lunch, and dinner options. They also have a wine list and bar menu featuring handcrafted mimosas and cocktails. The establishment prides itself on providing quality dishes found in fine dining within a casual setting.
This is a high spirited, classy restaurant. The staff is very friendly, engaging, and, most importantly, happy. We came on a Saturday morning for brunch. I had the prime-rib hash and Sheila had Gary's sandwich. McKenzie was very attentive without being overbearing. I highly recommend this great restaurant on the square.

Shrimp and grits were something special. Cheesy, creamy goodness with generous, well-seasoned grilled shrimp. Braised short rib tacos were awesome as well. Service was just the right amount of friendly and attentive. Bright, airy atmosphere in the historic hotel building. The dining areas are filled with local artist paintings, which were really pleasant to look at. First timers here and we will definitely be back!
Mike S — Google review
Went here for an anniversary dinner, very cute establishment, friendly staff, great environment. The food, while creative, lacked any real depth of flavor. I don't add salt to anything usually but had to put salt and pepper on just about everything. The crab cakes had decent flavor but were very soft so if you dont like a mushy texture you may want to avoid. The birria egg rolls were ok, the meat was dry and again not very flavorful - consume was ok to help this. Do not recommend the shrimp and grits at all, its not grits its polenta so again, texture is off. Its also supposed to be jalapeno sauce, ZERO jalapeño flavor. Shrimp was well cooked. Ribeye pork was cooked ok, maybe slightly overcooked, and by itself had an ok glaze but I have no idea where the name hot honey came from, it was just a light honey mustard. The potatoes had no flavor at all, the little zucchini was actually very good. We tried 2 desserts, cheesecake and chocolate chip bread pudding. Cheesecake was well done, definitely baked, would recommend. Bread pudding had good flavor but was dry. Server was friendly and prompt for managing the area alone. Maybe give it a shot, they could have had an off night for the food, the atmosphere is nice enough and the granbury square is always good for a stroll. I don't think I'll be back, the food just wasn't good enough.
Valerie T — Google review
Very excited they moved to a bigger location. I was seated immediately. Food is amazing. Steak and eggs. Loaded Bloody Mary on point. Waitress was sweet and knowledgeable. Great service!! I absolutely recommend!!!
LaTonya W — Google review
We made a phone reservation, but when we arrived, the hostess couldn’t find it. No big deal — we were seated within five minutes! The service was excellent — Luca, our waiter, checked on us often and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was amazing — probably one of the best shrimp and grits I’ve ever had. My husband ordered the prime rib dip and loved it. It was our first time in town for a day trip, and this restaurant made it a memorable visit. Highly recommend!
Helma — Google review
We recently celebrated a dear friend’s birthday at Christina's American Table in Granbury, and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the customer service was warm, attentive, and genuinely caring—the kind of hospitality that makes you feel like family. The meal itself was wonderful, with every dish thoughtfully prepared and filled with flavor. But what truly set the evening apart were the two incredible cakes, including a custom-made reproduction of an old family recipe. This personal touch meant the world to us and showcased the restaurant’s commitment to going above and beyond for their guests. Whether you're in Granbury or anywhere in the DFW area, I highly recommend Christina's American Table for any special occasion—or simply a great meal. It’s a place where food, service, and heart come together beautifully.

Classy, upscale restaurant located on the bottom floor of the Nutt House Hotel in Granbury's Historic Town Square. I had the Salmon and Tuna Tartare along with a Strawberry Spinach Pecan Salad. By far the best meal I had while visiting Granbury. It was phenomenal! Highly recommend this restaurant.
Becca M — Google review
Christina’s American Table is one of those places that just never misses. The food’s always incredible, the service is even better, and you can tell everyone there genuinely cares about their guests. Their brunch menu is full of great options, but the chicken avocado melt on their jalapeño bread is hard to beat. The tomato basil soup is amazing, and the chicken salad sandwich is another solid go-to (the half-and-half combo is a great way to go). And if you haven’t tried the quiche from the à la carte menu, you’re missing out. We’re just so glad to have a place this good right here in Granbury with great food, friendly people, and a team that clearly takes pride in what they do. It’s the kind of spot you can’t help but keep coming back to.

German restaurant
Ketzler's Schnitzel Haus And Biergarten is a traditional German restaurant located in the Historic Granbury Square. The family-owned establishment offers authentic German dishes, with favorites including giant pretzels and schnitzel. Guests can enjoy their meals in the dining room or outdoor beer garden while being entertained by live music from local performers. The restaurant also serves morning breakfast at the Blue Heron B&B, featuring a multi-course feast made with fresh farm produce and local products.
First time visit for myself. Family loves the wonderful German theme restaurant. Greeting by Ms Elizabeth as our server. Fantastic customer service, friendly and fun server for our family of eight. Had some wonderful / tasty appetizers. Huge pretzel, Bratwurst sampler, and potato pancakes....each very yummy. Dinner we each had the various Schnitzel plates offered...variety to chose from. Everyone enjoyed the generous portions. Then Ms Angelika stopped by the table to ask how our dinners were and did we enjoy. Very friendly & great conversation about the restaurant, foods & families. We truly enjoyed and will highly recommend to friends and family. Took some pictures on the way out to share the wonderful ambiance of this fun restaurant. Enjoy...

🍺🇩🇪 Step into Germany without leaving Granbury! We stopped in at What’s Serve Restaurant on the Square, and the authentic German atmosphere was incredible. From the traditional décor to the hearty flavors, everything made you feel like you were sitting in a Bavarian beer hall. And this guy right here? Absolute phenomenal. He brought the energy, the culture, and the warm hospitality that made the whole experience unforgettable. If you’re looking for a unique dining experience that’s full of character, tradition, and flavor—you need to check this place out! Prost! 🍻

OMG! Loved the food and the service! Heatherton made us feel at home and her recommendations were superb. We had the Pretzel and the Chicken Schnitzel with Jäger topping. This German food has been thus far the best German food we’ve had stateside. The German Mimosa had the perfect blend of juice and alcohol. It was so massive! One was enough for me. Needless to say I’m glad we decided to stop here.
Veronica L — Google review
Very good schnitzel here, a lot of place will overfry their meat and have it end up a little dry, but here it's perfectly done and retains all it's juiciness. Same with the brats and side dishes here, all are excellently done, I was surprised to find a german comfort food restaurant of this caliber in a small town.
Liyuan C — Google review
This was the second time in my life I've had a German sausage meal. The Bratwurst Sampler at this restaurant was delicious, not too salty. I also ordered a German beer, and afterwards, we had an apple strudel with ice cream. The service was excellent, and the restaurant had a romantic atmosphere. The waitress were very friendly; local people also very nice , they nodded and smiled at us. I really liked this town and this restaurant

My boyfriend and I went on our first date and it was absolutely AMAZING! We got our food so fast and it was delicious, however, we did go pretty close to close(sorry about that) so that probably played a heavy part lol but it was still great. I got a chicken salad, and he got this really good dish with mashed potatoes topped with meatballs and gravy, I can't for the like of me remember the name lol.
Victoria M — Google review
Get the pretzel!! I've never really had German food before and I am a picky eater so I was hesitant to come in here, but we were in Granbury to see a show and this was too conveniently located to not stop in. Seeing the wait staff dressed up really made the whole vibe feel right. They have decal clings on the windows to make you feel like you aren't in Texas anymore. And the food was wonderful. First time ever trying schnitzel! We got the pretzel appetizer, meatballs, and the chicken schnitzel. The pretzel was so fresh warm and fluffy (possibly best pretzel I ever had!) and I loved the schnitzel! Lovely time had and our waitress was so attentive and helped answer all my questions about the food (since I wasn't sure what any of it was!). Will go back if ever in the area

Update: Got to try this officially and this place is wonderful. Heather was an excellent waitress, very knowledgeable about the menu and determined to make sure we were comfortable and liked what we ordered. I loved the chicken apples sausage, and their battered fries are out of this world. Original review: Excellent food! Some of the best I've had in Granbury; full of flavor and the portions are huge. Nestled in the heart of Granbury's main square, Farina's Winery & Cafe is a delightful culinary destination that transports you to a bygone era. With an extensive menu featuring everything from artisan cheeses and hearty sandwiches to delectable pizzas and steaks, there's something for every palate. The ambiance is enhanced by a stunning bar that has its roots in Chicago, adding a touch of history with tales of legendary figures like Al Capone.
My husband and I were visiting Granbury for the first time. We went to Farina’s for dinner and received great customer service as soon as we walked in. Our waitress was Payton! She was amazing and soo sweet! Payton recommended a delicious wine and took care of us the whole time. We ordered spaghetti and baked chicken Alfredo! Everything was delicious! We will definitely be back again!

This was my wife and I first time coming here. I've seen alot of people on Google maps say high remarks about the baked lasagna. My lasagna didn't taste very well. It taste like it was spoiled or had some kind of alcohol in it. My wife tried a bite of my lasagna and she said the same thing. My wife had the chicken alfredo and it was good. Both our salads was very good. We'll cone back to give them another chance, but will not order the lasagna.
David W — Google review
It’s just ok and pricey. I love bruschetta and some how it was less than mediocre here. The pizza was fresh out the oven which was nice but it burnt us and had no flavor. Our server was fantastic though. As others have commented please use seasoning!
Jacqueline H — Google review
I have to be honest, our food (pasta dishes) were good, but not fabulous. Both my girlfriend and I love to cook, so we were a little disappointed. We both agree more basil, garlic and oregano would really enhance both dishes. I will say it was a big community celebration weekend, and they were busy. The ambience was fabulous. It’s a fun place. The best part of the evening was our server Heather. She was delightful. She was extremely busy, serving the bar, where we sat. In spite of how busy she was, we never wanted for anything, nor had to wait. She’s bubbly, obviously enjoys what she does, and provides top notch service. We’d go back and hope that Heather was there! Thank you Heather for making our first Granbury Farina’s experience so fun.

This little cafe is AMAZING! The staff is so friendly and the food is super yummy & affordable. My husband had a salad and fettuccine Alfredo. I had a pasta salad and turkey sandwich. All of the food was unique, delicious, and filling. 100% recommend!

Heather the bartender is the best! She makes a great old fashioned! The creme brulee is awesome! However there are no Stakes available on the menu and the pasta is seriously lacking in a flavor. Don't get me wrong I love Granbury and I hope the best for all of our really great restaurants but we should really try harder!

Farina's Winery & Cafe is a true Granbury gem, a cozy and intimate spot that feels like a European escape without the jet lag. It's the kind of place you'll want to linger in, sipping wine and savoring every bite. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with exposed brick, soft lighting, and a charming courtyard that's perfect for a romantic evening or a relaxed get-together with friends. The food is the star of the show. The menu offers a delicious mix of Italian-inspired dishes and American classics, all executed with a touch of elegance. The Caprese sandwich is a standout, with its fresh mozzarella, juicy tomatoes, and vibrant pesto. Another must-try is the Farina's Famous Lasagna, a rich and comforting dish that's a testament to traditional Italian cooking. The generous wine list features a fantastic selection of Texas wines alongside notable international labels, with knowledgeable staff ready to help you find the perfect pairing for your meal. Beyond the food and wine, the service is impeccable—attentive but never intrusive, and genuinely welcoming. Whether you're a local or just passing through, Farina's is a culinary experience you won't forget. It's more than just a restaurant; it's a destination. If you're looking for a place that combines great food, a relaxed ambiance, and excellent service, Farina's Winery & Cafe is an absolute must-visit.

We had our wedding and reception at Farina's and it was lovely! Mel did a great job preparing us and asking all the right questions. The food was delicious and so many of our guests said they would be back to eat there. The patio and castle room was perfect for our party of about 65. This is a great place to have a wedding! We are so thankful for this place! Vernon and Janene Gray

The Fillin' Station, situated at 100 North Crockett St in Granbury, offers a delightful dining experience with its fun and historic atmosphere. The restaurant features a relaxed outdoor setting where patrons can savor a variety of delectable options such as salads, burgers, soups, and sandwiches. One of the highlights is their homemade peach cobbler from the dessert menu.
We had the best experience at The Fillin' Station in Granbury, TX last weekend! The vibe is relaxed, the decor is fun, the food is fabulous, and the service is friendly! Sheri was amazing! It was our first visit, so she provided her insights into the menu options! The burgers were fresh and perfectly cooked! The fries are crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and seasoned to perfection. The cobbler tastes like it was made in a grandmother's kitchen! 10 out of 10 recommend and will definitely be going back!

Pretty good place to get a burger or sandwich. Fairly varied menu. Nice staff. Outside seating if you want. Located in the Granbury square so lots of other shops to see as well.

I ordered the spark plugs. Needless to say they had no spark. The lack luster of flavor was disappointing. The house made ranch and salad saved the dish. I did try and chicken tenders. Those hit spot(dip in some ranch) The model A burger with pepper jack cheese and jalapeño bun. Was the star of the show. Our waitress was amazing. The host staff was so/so at best.

Interesting little American restaurant on the edge of the Grandbury square. Most of the seating is on an outdoor patio which unfortunately is at one of the main stops through the square. The traffic noise can be very loud. Service and food was good. Menu selection is adequate. Prices are fair. No complaints.

Went here for lunch on a Wednesday. Sat on the patio, it was NOT very busy. We ordered a bacon burger and butterfly fried shrimp. Also had a funnel cake to go. The food was good, but the service was slow and was lacking.

Food was good. Annoying that they refuse to put condiments on the burgers. Service started out great... Then, after we got our food, the waitress disappeared. So, we never got refills on drinks. :( Patio seats were nice. Wish they were not so close to each other, though.

Good was great as always, service was spot on! Our waitress Nicole, was very intuitive and helpful with the menu. My grandsons had the tailpipes and loved them! Food is always good and fresh! Will be coming back!
