Gardens
The Hatcher Garden and Woodland Preserve is a tranquil public garden adorned with mature trees, conifers, butterflies, and a scenic walking trail. The park management has recently made significant improvements to the garden by adding new features and revamping its appearance. This has made it an ideal destination for nature lovers seeking to experience the beauty of wildlife in their natural habitat. Visitors can spot turtles, small fish and other fauna while taking a relaxing walk amongst the lush greenery of the gardens.
A serene park in the middle of the bustling surroundings. Walk the many pathways through the densely wood areas. From every location you can hear the sounds of the waterfalls and brook. There are many benches to sit and enjoy the experience. Informational signs provide great explanations about the trees, wildlife, plants and the environment. Work is continuing to enhance and expand the park.

This is a quaint little park that is quite lovely. It’s a great opportunity to walk through the little trails through nature and see a bunch of different flowers and plants. There’s a nice little waterfall and some water features. We stopped here as a stretch break from our long drive And the kids enjoyed the trails. Most of the trails are paved so you could bring a wheelchair if needed. Some trails are steep so if you have problems with steps or have to use a cane, you’ll just have to take your time or go on the less steep paths

One of the best gardens we've been to. It was really done well with good walking paths and neat bridges and arbors scattered here and there. There were surprises sprinkled in like Myrtle the Turtle and the interesting tile work in certain areas. The children's garden was still a work in progress, but looked like it was going to be done well also.

A beautiful woodland garden with paved trails. Great place to take small kids and enjoy nature. The loop is not long but enough to have a good experience.

Pretty place but not very large. Well kept, clean and shaded. Not very crowded but I did go at the hottest time of the day in the summer. Lots of memorials & spots to sit.

Beautiful and sooo peaceful. We visit every time we're close to Boiling Springs. Really miss the koi fish pond that use to be here. Great place to picnic, walk or even meditate if you come early when there's no kiddos.

What a beautiful oasis to come across! There are paved trails and also wooded trails and lots of beautiful plants and gardens! The staff were kind and helpful!

Absolutely breathtaking. I got away from the rat race of life. Breathe again, relax, sit quietly and listen to the babbling brooks, and stare up to the top of the 40' oak trees. I took my family there today. Play loved every moment of it. There is no admission and you may take your dog if they are on a leash.

I loved it such friendly people and so worth the trip it was so amazing seeing all the old train artifacts!!!!!

Great place to railfan the NS Charlotte Line. There is plenty of parking and cover in case it rains. I was there on National Train Day, and it was a great place for kids!
Mill R — Google review
Great railroad museum in a working depot building. We enjoyed the caboose in the front and then toured the main building. It was small, but full of mostly Norfolk-Southern/Southern Railway memorabilia. The dining car exhibit was interesting since I didn't realize they had offered that. It was cool to see the "SR" logo on chef's hats and coats as well as on the dining ware.
Michael M — Google review
Hub City Railroad Museum is a neat little museum staffed by very enthusiastic and knowledgeable railfans. It is situated inside the old Southern Railways depot, next to the very active tracks that route through Spartanburg. We actually got some great photos of a train coming through just as we arrived. Inside the depot is the memorabilia and history, plus a gift shop. There is artwork and vintage train magazines and schedules as well. The staff will make sure you don't forget to check out the caboose that has been refurbished and houses a nice model train setup, as well as a mini shop for model train supplies. It's a must see for railfans of all ages as a peek into the history of Spartanburg, the Hub City of South Carolina.

What a wonderful, cute little museum. It was our first time visiting, and Bruce walked us through the museum and shared his knowledge of trains and the history of trains in Spartanburg. It's a small museum, but packed with historical objects and lots of local history. If you've never been, it's worth a stop. Admission is free, but donations are welcome. There's also a small gift shop. Also, dont forget to check out the caboose out front!

Great experience, helpful employees/volunteers who were very knowledgeable. Highly recommend trying out this gem!

It is such a great way to spend the morning while learning about the railway. Our son loved it, and we enjoyed ourselves as well. Everyone was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. We will definitely be back.

Wonderful little Museum that is run by local people who love the city. It is free and definitely worth taking time to visit. There is a nice grass area with tables for picnic lunches. When we were there we saw three trains go by. It's a fun little place.

Sights & Landmarks
Glendale Shoals Preserve & Waterfalls is a 13-acre natural area located on the grounds of the former Glendale Mill. This historic site, dating back to the 1800s, offers visitors a glimpse into its past with ruins of the mill and a bridge from 1928. The preserve features hiking trails, a dam, and picturesque waterfalls along Lawsons Fork Creek. It's a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts seeking scenic views, wildlife sightings, and opportunities for photography.
A great to explore. We enjoyed walking on the bridge around the structures and on the trails. We splashed in the water. There are picnic tables and plenty of spaces to just sit and enjoy the views. There wasn't a public restroom that we knew of. We would definitely come back.
Lo O — Google review
Took the kids to explore, this was a perfect place for a stroll, so pretty and the trails were clean. We stayed for a good 2 hours walking around to see all the things. I'd recommend it for all age groups, there's something for everyone.

Glad to see the grounds of the factory are now cleaned up and open to walk about the ruins. I was here a few years ago and it was all closed off. It would be nice to see the city or donor put some more effort into cleaning up the area and expanding that great resource.

Such a little gem! Loved the hike too. Super cool to see the old mill. Such a great area to have picnics, do for a walk or just sit and be.

A very nice, peaceful place to walk, picnic, and explore. The community garden and picnic area is great for kids, and there’s plenty of variety in the trails and scenery for everyone. Parking can be an issue if you come on a nice day, as the parking lot isn’t very big. I’ve heard other people park at the post office, but I always come at weird times of day to avoid the crowds.
Winter W — Google review
What a beautiful place ooozzzing with history. I wish the graffiti was cleaned up, although I find it neat to see...the curse words with young children around I dont like. Alot of trash laying around. But again beautiful place to visit.
Nina M — Google review
Yes siR! This place is cool I wish I'd have come earlier when it was so hot outside and gotten in the water and relaxed. Definitely a really cool spot to let go of the hum drum of every day life and get grounded in Nature.
Shawn Y — Google review
Wonderful area for an early morning stroll. Beautiful scenery and well-preserved history. You can bring a lock and put it on the bridge. (I saw this at another bridge in Georgia.) There are stairs that will take you down to the rocks. You can swim in the water and climb on the rocks, but there is signage that it's at your own risk. There is not much parking space, but not an issue as we were the only ones there.

Families will find plenty to enjoy with playgrounds, picnic spots, and scenic walking trails that encourage exploration and outdoor fun.
This park is beautiful and a thoughtfully designed space that offers a perfect blend of recreation, relaxation, and natural beauty. Kids can enjoy a wide range of playground equipment, including a large climbing wall that keeps them active and engaged.
Lindley — Google review
huge and absolutely beautiful! There’s plenty of space to explore and the playground is awesome for little ones... lots to climb, slide, and play on. The only downside is the lack of shade around the play area, which made most of the equipment way too hot to touch during the day. Still a great spot, just best enjoyed early in the morning or later in the evening when it cools down!

Been here several times! Love it! Even had a wedding at this venue! June 2025 And a grill out event at one of the shelters. Great staff: very helpful. Lovely park shaded ...gazebo...bridge...swings..trail .playground (closes at 8:30) I believe.
Talitha C — Google review
Probably the best park for children/adults in the area. My baby doesn’t like the other ones we have explored as much as this one ! They have a big kid and toddler section ( swings Included) so that’s cool. They have 2 vending machines for drinks( not sure if they work) there as well as restrooms. Bring your own drinks (cold water or water with ice ) in some kind of insulated cup to keep cool if necessary because you will need them it gets hot cause the material for the ground instead of using mulch at the playground definitely absorbs heat. They do have a sideline sit down fanned area. I suggest misting fans lol but yea a nice big body of water where lots of ducks are. No fishing allowed but I’ve seen some break the rules. You can rent out the gazebo since when we went , going over the bridge was blocked off due to a wedding which I think was crazy to have in this heat! They also have some event centers in the park so another cool thing for people looking to have an event. They have walking trails that go to a baseball field that is actually called “berry field” we were disappointed that it wasn’t a field of berries… they have a little creek next to the playground not like a swimming in creek but a splash your feet in creek with rocks They also have a big rock fountain. It just has water coming off of it all around in a nice shaded circle so you can sit or I saw one person lay to cool off. However I minused a star due to the odor of marijuana in the parking lot. A cop was there parked so I guess they were made aware. If you are going to smoke please be considerate of children & do that before getting to the park. Thx.

What a lovely park! We came on Saturday afternoon. There was plenty of parking. Even though there was a lot of people at the park. Beautiful walkways. Nice lake with geese and ducks swimming in it. Although beware of duck poop. Our vehicle got bombarded with geese feces.
Google U — Google review
Beautiful park and awesome playground! Swings, slides, musical instruments and a space for littles. Whole playground is fenced in for safety. Great nearby pavilion in the shade with picnic tables & fans and restrooms. We stopped to have lunch on a long drive. Glad we did!
Alyssa A — Google review
Awesome park! Definitely visit if you haven't. There's something for everyone no matter what age. You'll find baby & toddler play area, bigger kid play area, even has a tire swing, & rock climbing wall, pond, walking trails, covered sitting areas, geese & ducks, baseball field. Also have areas for rent not sure of price or if any for birthdays, etc. The only down side is the actual playground is directly in the sun & it gets hot! Bring plenty of water.

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! We are new to the area, and The Kennedy was recommended. Our server, Chelsea, is amazing, and made our evening memorable. The cocktails were perfect alongside the crafty food. Everything was so good, and we had a GREAT night. The Kennedy will be our regular spot for date nights going forward. Highly recommended!

You know when a meal just hits right -- this was the experience we had at The Kennedy today. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was nice and comfortable -- it was just perfect. Erin, our server, was absolutely amazing. She really set the tone for a great meal and was super attentive- helping us with what we needed before we even had to ask. I had the Brussels sprouts and chicken Parmesan sandwich - both 10/10!! Thank you Erin and the rest of the awesome staff at The Kennedy!

Came here for our first time Saturday night and can’t believe we’ve been sleeping on this gem! We had an incredible experience from the bar, and then in then again in the dining room. The food was *chef’s kiss* and the service from Erin was top notch! The Caesar salad is a must! As well as their rainbow carrots! If you’re a wine drinker like myself It was so refreshing to see the out of the norm line up. I was actually excited for each glass I tried! We talked the entire way home and then again this morning about what we’re planning to try next time! Cannot wait to come back!

We went for a special dinner and were not disappointed. Our server, Rachel, was great, very attentive, very very nice, and was a pleasure to have around. We had the Shrimp and Grits and the Pork Shank. Also had the fries with a sprinkle of parmesan and the sticky cake. We will go back and I highly recommend if you are in town to stop in.

Fun Sunday brunch at Spartanburg local favourite. Arrived early before the Sunday church crowd. When we left, people were waiting in line out the door. The food was very tasty and hot. Give a wide variety and large portions. Thank you, Teneya, for such great service. You're a pro. Thank uou Cribbs for honouring Veterans. A must location for Sunday mornings brunch and dates.

We stopped in for lunch after my daughter’s dance competition. We had Cribb Style Burgers, the Philly Cribbsteak & drinks. One of the adult beverages that was served to my SIL (sister in law) had a bug in it that looked like a baby cockroach!!!! They replaced her drink but didn’t comp it or anything else off of the bill. The burgers and Philly Cribbsteak were good. We ate outside on their patio because we had our two small dogs with us. The waitress was kind and accommodating. It was a cute little place to grab some lunch.

It was an amazing experience today. I ordered my first drink from the bar. After being seated my waitress came and noticed that my drink was low and asked, “ would you like another strawberry lemonade?” I thought that was absolutely amazing that she already knew the drink I had considering that I did not order the first drink with her. (The drink was very good!) Throughout my entire experience, she was very attentive, she was able to remember the order without writing anything down (and I “modified” a menu item) and she got everything correct. Then, the food came out, and the food was presented very well and it actually tasted amazing! But I have to acknowledge Emily! She was absolutely amazing and knew her stuff! Thank you Emily for your awesome service! Thank you Cribb’s for hiring her and thank you for providing an establishing an environment that provides great food with a great atmosphere.

I was traveling to through NC and SC visiting customers. Stayed in Spartanburg for the evening before flying out the next morning. I am adamant about visiting local places as much as I can, so a coworker and I picked Cribb’s Kitchen! All I can say, is… “We chose wisely!” Everything was perfect… good pours on our drinks, friendly environment, wide variety on the menu and I even got a little gift for finishing their bottle of Blantons! Jesse was our bartender and waiter. Great guy and he really took good care of us. Service was prompt and he checked in several times to make sure we were happy! I got a specialty burger called the Berry Poppin Smash and my colleague got the Buffalo Chicken Wrap. We both thought our food was fantastic! I will definitely be back when in town again. Thanks

I had the opportunity to visit Cribbs Kitchen today with some friends, and we had a pleasant experience. It was surprisingly not busy on this 4th of July as we were seated at a corner table upon walking in. We started off with some deviled eggs that were near perfection. For my entree I chose the Hot Honey fried chicken sandwich with parmesan fries. I enjoyed both but, I would like to offer some constructive criticism. I could have used some more hot honey on the sandwich, and I didn't taste any Tabasco sauce on it. The chicken needed some salt and pepper in the batter. Overall, it was still a good sandwich. The fries were slightly overcooked and could also use some salt or garlic truffle oil. Oh, the dessert special of Carolina pie was a delicious blend of chocolate brownie, cheesecake, and strawberries, and was to die for. The burgers and wraps that my friends had all looked really good, and they praised there deliciousness. I look forward to my next visit, and you should plan a visit for yourself.

We stopped in for lunch while out of town for a wedding. We wanted to try something different than the normal chain restaurants. They fries, we're great, both sweet potato and the parmesan original fries. However, the rat was not one of my favorites. The waitress was attentive and checked on us often. I'm very pleased with the services. We'll definitely visit again whenever I'm back in the area.

Stopped in yesterday for dinner before the Cole Swindell concert at the baseball stadium. The wedge salad was delicious! Plenty to split between 2-3 people. I got the double patty melt and she got the crab rangoon burger with sweet potato fries. The patty melt was good and really liked the bbq sauce on it. Fries were hot and good. Her burger just wasnt all that great. She didnt care for it either as it had way too much going on. The sweet potato fries were just different and not in a good way. Definitely recommend the wedge though. Service was great.

Very cool outside bar/restaurant with a ball game concession feel. Staff super friendly everything clean and well kept. The food is the same that you would find at a sports venue. Hotdogs, hamburgers, pretzels, etc.. parking was easy and they even have putt-putt golf in the back of the establishment. Patrons ages ranged from toddlers to older adult adults. Definitely family, friendly and a great place to go watch the game.

Nestled in the heart of Spartanburg, The Peddler Steak House is a charming destination for those who appreciate fine dining. This elegant establishment specializes in hand-cut charcoal-grilled steaks, fresh seafood, and an impressive selection of wines. With its warm wooden decor and intimate corners, it creates a cozy atmosphere perfect for romantic dinners or special gatherings. As the city's only traditional steakhouse, The Peddler has become synonymous with memorable occasions among locals.
Tonight my family had an exquisite dining experience here. Superb cuisine, top notch service, and a warm inviting atmosphere provides a five star experience. The total ambiance is outstanding in every way. I want to personally thank the entire staff for all of your hard work. As a former food critic in Boca Raton Florida, I would rate this as the best place for fine dining in our area. Congratulations on a job well done.

A lovely fine dining experience, with some uniqueness that I will remember. The menu is verbal, which is interesting! They cut the steaks in front of you, which also a nice touch. Our steak was very well cooked, even if the ribeye was a touch less tender than expected. We will absolutely be back — and you have to get the Mac & cheese!

Much different from the greenville peddler... it's alive and bright. Nonetheless, both are charming in their own ways. Alex was such a polite and kind server. He was very attentive and knew his menu very well. He made excellent suggestions. The food was wonderful. I love my cowboy ribeye. Perfectly cooked with the steak fries that were served hot!

Our experience was on 05/21/25 and we went around 5pm on a Wednesday to celebrate our 3 year wedding anniversary! From the moment we walked in the hostess greeted us with a smile. This was our first time at the spartanburg location and it was a better experience than Halls. Don't get me wrong Halls is great but they’re always so busy that it’s the normal hustle bustle of a busy restaurant. However peddlers was more intimate and the staff treated you like family. Our waiter was brandon and he was phenomenal, he made a wine recommendation as pictures below and it had to be the most delicious wine i’ve ever tasted! Notes of black cherry, raspberry and even some blackberry. He also made some really good recommendations for food! I had the cowboy ribeye which melted in your mouth and my husband has the house cut ribeye! we both had salads and brandon had recommended the dill salad sauce which was amazing! He did amazing at answering any questions we had and was so friendly. We will definitely be back for further occasions!

Ate here a few days ago. Unfortunately it was my first and last time. Nothing was explained on how things work here until I asked. It was over an hour in and had basically what looked like old salad. We were outside and guy that comes out with the meat still hadn’t come out. Ended up ordering something else on menu. The steak was burned and no seasoning, potatoes were blah. Felt bad for our waiter because we weren’t the only ones dissatisfied. Guy behind us had to send his steak back twice because it was undercooked…this is a steakhouse and can’t seem to cook steak properly.
Stephanie B — Google review
Went to the peddler steakhouse on September 25 with local friends that had been wanting to try the steakhouse. First a young lady ask us I what we wanted to drink and if we wanted appetizers, then someone else brought us the water then we ordered the salad and someone else brought us a salad then personal person showed us the steak of the night, which was ribeye and showed us the size that it was gonna be cut, which we are great, but salad was good but what happened to the steak? I had never seen a ribeye flat then no salt no pepper not even the shape of a ribeye. We didn’t complain and it was Chuey. Also just ate what we could and pay our big bill. We were four of us. As a Texan, we know our cuts of meat, felt that the cook should be ashamed of himself for sending us that piece of meat
Yolanda S — Google review
Rotten meat. We’ve been coming here for years for special occasions but will never be back. My steak was rotten and my husband’s steak was completely different than it usually is. They must of changed cooking methods. Price does not reflect quality. I can cook just as good at home for 1/4 of the price. Service was good but that was about all.

Delicious food and really cute decor. Just be aware- no menus! Everything is verbal so add ons/ up charges can add up! And don’t forget Spartanburg city tax is a whopping 9%! Food and service were spot on. We will be back for sure

Mexican restaurant
Willy Taco Hub City is a vibrant and lively Mexican restaurant located in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The original Willy Taco offers a hip and upbeat cantina atmosphere with Day-of-the-Dead decor, creating a fun and colorful dining experience.
Well seasoned food, usually taco spots are bland and colorless, but this place adds contrast and saturated to the food. Great waiter, and atmosphere ( Dog friendly) fast service, small but still spacious. PATAGONIA STEAK TACO / KOREAN BBQ / FRIES-SPICY RANCH

I took my kids here and we split brisket nachos for appetizer. I ordered a shrimp taco and a mahi taco. The shrimp taco was absolutely delicious and I would definitely order that again. The mahi taco was a bit dry and I probably would not do that again for that reason. The brisket nachos were good as well. I do wish there was a little bit more brisket, but overall it was good. My kids ordered Nashville Hot, bacon cheeseburger, Patagonia steak, mother clucker with the fries on the side. Both kids finished all their tacos and said they'd order them again. The fries were good too, but I think they were too full to finish. Wed probably skip the fries next time. I wish I could give 3.5 stars for service. Not terrible, but she wasn't quite as attentive from the get go. A table that was seated after us was served first, and we sat waiting after we finished the appetizer before she came to take our taco order. The tables are tight and I was slightly uncomfortable in my seat because the person behind me sat so far away from their table. Lighting was also off - I essentially ate dinner in my own shadow. The weather was nice but we weren't given the option to sit outside even though there were available tables. All said and done, I'd go back but specifically request to sit outside.

I have loved Willy Taco ever since they opened. Everything on their menu is delicious!! It's an Out Of The Box Mexican restaurant. You will find no other like it. The tacos are all gourmet. I have had all of their salads and one is not better than the other. Great service and unique atmosphere.

i dont like to leave reviews but this is the first time in 10 years of pretty regular visits that i havent enjoyed a meal from willy taco so i feel like i should. :( first i want to say our server maddie was absolutely lovely!! she gave us great service and was super sweet the whole time. i got a mother clucker and some birria tacos, the new grilled chicken in the mother clucker is terrible. they stopped putting the pulled chicken in all of the tacos and replaced it with this rubbery grilled chicken, the texture reminds me of chicken from a really cheap buffet. it also tasted completely different from how the pulled chicken did, but they’re labeling it with the same “chipotle” seasoning. the birria was really bad. it was VERY sweet, to the point i think there may have been sugar in the consommé? im not sure but it wasn’t appetizing. it was also very dry, and i know you’re meant to dip them, but i’ve never had birria that was bone dry without the consommé. if you’re interested in birria id suggest going to a local authentic mexican place instead!! i have had much better for much cheaper elsewhere. my partner got the chicken chimichanga which is his favorite dish from WT, and while they left the pulled chicken in, he said it tasted completely different and it wasn’t very good. we asked our waitress what had changed and she said that they no longer use seasoned rice and now it’s plain white basmati rice. this is a strange choice as it got rid of a lot of flavor :/ neither of us finished our food and we didn’t bother with the leftovers. the salsa and queso were good at least! im not sure if they’re trying to save money by using lower quality ingredients and raising prices or if they actually think these changes are good, but keep that in mind if you haven’t been recently. ive been going every few months for a long time, but that might change for me. its disheartening to see, especially considering all of their new business ventures. :(

These guys are the best restaurateurs in the entire Upstate! The food is delicious, the atmosphere is hip and modern, and our family loves it! A community is largely based around the local food scene. Willy Taco enhances the vibe and experience of the neighborhood. Another job well done!

We love this Willy Taco location! We ordered food to be delivered for our family after they had a baby and it was the perfect way to love on them from afar. Can't wait to eat here again next time we are in Spartanburg.

Love the creative fun menu and casual atmosphere- a great local hangout. We come here often and the service is always good. Tonight our server Marianna A. was very attentive and friendly and raised the service bar even higher ! :-)
