Zoos & Aquariums
Caldwell Zoo, situated in Tyler, Texas, spans 85 acres and is home to over 2,000 animals from various parts of the world. The zoo features animals from North and South America as well as Africa, all housed in recreated natural habitats. It is committed to wildlife preservation through educational programs and conservation efforts. As an accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, Caldwell Zoo actively participates in breeding programs for endangered species.
We had the best day at this zoo! They’ve recently done a huge expansion, and everything looks incredible—so much space and thoughtful details everywhere. The animals all seem really well cared for, and the beautiful landscaping makes it such a peaceful place to explore. There are plenty of shady spots to sit and relax, plus easy access to snacks and drinks along the way. The interactive exhibits were a fun touch, and the staff was genuinely kind and helpful. Such a nice, easy place to spend the day!

Excellent day with grand baby! You can get up close to Pink Flamingos, turtles, eagles, giraffes, etc. take your walking shoes! There are hills and and the trail around is not short. Pack waters and snacks and make a day of it!
Christi B — Google review
We went to this zoo last Saturday (11.15.2025). This is such a nice zoo - it is spotless (so very clean), the animals all seemed happy in their habitats, and it is routed nicely. All in all, a very nice experience for our family. It is very open and wheelchair & walker friendly. However, there are hills. If you have a manual wheelchair (our son is in a manual wheelchair & we have to push him) it is do-able but challenging . A zoo is a lot of walking - that's understood - but we were just not prepared for the hills. Wear some really good shoes.

Great zoo with plenty of large and small animals. The grounds were kept nice with landscaping. I’ve brought my children here since they were young and took my grandbabies more recently. We will definitely be back!
Melissa H — Google review
Excellent smaller zoo. Well kept. Most animals were visible and not hiding - hand fed the giraffes - very cool! Would definitely visit again!!
Tony P — Google review
This zoo is incredible. We spent over 3 hours there just to see everything, and it was totally worth it. There’s plenty of shade, bathrooms, and spots to get hydrated, so you can bring kids, seniors, or disabled people without any worries. Ramps make everything accessible, but I’ll say, bring your walking shoes! The restaurant is a bit pricey, but it’s worth it to support the awesome Tyler Caldwell Zoo.

This zoo was so much fun! The animals, the environment and atmosphere, the family friendliness, everything. This is a great trip with a variety of different animals, went with some family and would return again!

Time and money well spent. Took the family to the Caldwell Zoo (have not been in years) and was pleasantly surprised! The place is beautiful, tree covered, well kept and the price is very reasonable. It was Boo at the Zoo! And they went all out!

Garden
Nature & Parks
The Tyler Rose Garden is a stunning, expansive public park spanning 14 acres. It boasts over 38,000 rose bushes as well as various other types of flowers and plants. The garden features fountains, gazebos, and walking paths that are perfect for enjoying the peaceful atmosphere while observing the butterflies and birds. Although entry to the garden is free, voluntary contributions are welcomed.
Walked through the gardens the last weekend in April, and there were still plenty of blooms showing their colors. This park is easily walkable with levels paths throughout for strollers and wheelchairs. There are many quiet spots for meditation and admiration, or a private conversation. I was disappointed that many of the rose signs were not displayed, as it does help to determine which varieties to plant in your home garden when coming here. It did not deter my enjoyment of the gardens.
Aqua — Google review
It definitely was an absolute delight at the Tyler Municipal Rose Garden! The sun was shining, and the roses were blooming beautifully. I spent the day capturing the vibrant colors and intricate details of the thousands of rose bushes and over 300 varieties of roses on camera. As I wandered through the 14-acre garden, I snapped photos of the Idea Garden, Heritage Garden, and the stunning camellia and day lily collections. The soft, natural light was perfect for photography, and I tried to make the most of it by experimenting with different angles and compositions. Some of my favorite shots were taken during the golden hour, when the warm light added a magical touch to the already breathtaking flowers. I also played around with backlighting, trying to capture the delicate petals and intricate details of the roses. The Tyler Municipal Rose Garden is truly a photographer's paradise, and I couldn't wait to share my photos with friends and family. If you're a rose enthusiast or photography buff, this garden is definitely worth visiting
Michael G — Google review
We visited late this summer, so the roses were no longer in full bloom but it was still beautiful! The museum was quaint but really cool! I was born and raised in Texas and knew the gardens existed but didn't know the history. Can't wait to go back next year when the roses start blooming!
Jessica T — Google review
This 14 acrose garden is stunning. I went at the end of April and all the flowers were in Bloom. They have areas where you can have wedding ceremonies very peaceful. Lots of trees for shade. Dog friendly green grass. Recommend visiting. the only thing that I would recommend to the center is more identification of the roses
Liza S — Google review
When I went, all of the roses were no longer in bloom, but there were still some. I would still recommend visiting, nice walk throughout the grounds. Other things to see that are in full-bloom, a lot of nature buzzing and flying around. Plenty of sitting spots to take it all in and just relax for a few. Before exiting would highly recommend a donation to keep up the grounds is probably quite expensive.
Barbara H — Google review
Lots, and lots of roses. The garden itself is free, just walk straight through doors to other side. There is a charge for museum inside. In the garden, there are walking trails, fountains, gazebos, a bridge, paragodas, and a pool of water. There are various benches to sit and enjoy the view. There are steps down to the garden, and I notice the handicap elevator was roped off for maintenance.
Rachel L — Google review
We stopped in about an hour before sundown. A spontaneous visit. We just visited near the Tyler sign but we enjoyed the bit we saw. Of course no crowd at that time. We saw a quinceanera having her pictures taken there. It was beautiful.
Laura O — Google review
The flowers had taken a beating due to rain storm. But overall beautiful. The bees and butterflies were out in force. The idea garden was inspiring. A couple was their having engagement photos taken!

Nestled in Tyler, Texas, the Discovery Science Place is a treasure trove of interactive learning and exploration for children of all ages. Since its establishment in 1993, this vibrant museum has been dedicated to sparking curiosity through hands-on experiences. Visitors can explore three expansive halls filled with captivating exhibits like a man-made cave featuring an earthquake simulator, a mock television station complete with working cameras, and even live animals such as iguanas.
100 ⭐'s There are not enough amazing things I can say about this place. It's been far too long since I have felt satisfied with the money spent on an activity with my children. The staff were absolutely amazing!!! The ones that I spoke to and the ones who disappeared into the background and we're hardly noticed. Coming back to an area my child wanted to visit again and having a fresh clean slate to play with was the most awesome thing ever. I look forward to returning again and again. Thank you for such an amazing day with my family. I love you guys!! My kids loved the TV studio and the restaurant.

I am visiting my mom in Gladewater so I decided to bring my two boys here. It a very fun filled museum! Lots of activities for all ages. Here are things you should know if your planning to visit 1. Time. There is SO much to do, I could have spent about 2 more hours here 2. Space. It’s not a lot of space. Don’t bring a stroller in if you can help it, parking is limited. 3. Beware. When I visited there were several “field trips” going on at once. It really overloaded the place. But it didn’t deter me from going back. My kids really enjoy it.

Pretty fun place! We havent been since my oldest was 2. Now ive got 3 kiddos and they had so much fun. We aren't from around here, but when we pass through its a great stop for family fun. Or educational activity to pass the time. They have made several improvements and updates in the past 5 years which was cool to see!

This place is great for kids from 3-10 I would say. My 4 and 8 year old had a blast! Good prices and a lot to do for the kids! Well worth it for this rainy Sunday!

I wouldn't even give e it 1 really. I walked in and because I don't have a kid with me get told to leave politely. I don't get to ask any kind of questions about museums or buy anything. If it is for the kids charge them at a rate, not adults.

This was a really nice small art museum!! I enjoyed looking at all the paintings. I believe the lady at the front desk said the exhibit changes every 30 days. It is worth the time to go visit!!

Good little museum on the TJC campus. We came bc of a college art requirement (kilgore). 2 different exhibits on, one for h.s. art and then Warhol and Liechtenstein.

They were charging full admission but only had one of the two rooms open for viewing. Not worth the admission. If both rooms were open then it would be fine.

I was working out at planet fitness and I have forgot that there was a art exhibition of African American heritage! I rode my bike here and I witness something very special and personal! I forgot that Tyler had a museum of art and I am glad I came I will be coming in member very soon but this is on the campus of TJC c and it is close to wagstaff gymnasium right across the street. You can access the museum of art via the green line and yellow line. It is a very little gym hidden away here in Tyler!. They have varying programs and showcases of different art from around the world!

The Goodman-LeGrand House & Museum, located at 624 North Broadway, is a historic landmark Civil War-era estate that has been transformed into a museum. Originally known as Bonnie Castle, this Greek Revival-style house spans nine acres and played a significant role during the Civil War. It was once a refuge for families fleeing the Union Army in 1862. Preserved in its classic style, the house contains original furnishings and offers visitors an intriguing glimpse into the lives of Tyler's early residents.
Was so nice. The ladies were helpful and knowledgeable; even about random questions. I love the items being 90% authentic. Will probably help out there on a volunteer basis if I'm able.

My daughter & I visited this museum on a short trip to Tyler. The museum docent, Sheila, was so very charming, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable about the family, the home, its contents, and the history. We really enjoyed this quaint little museum and the treasures it contains, many over 150 years old!
Kelli M — Google review
Sheila is the person who greeted us at the door. She had a vast knowledge of the house and family. My wife and I stayed there a couple of hours, and let me tell ya, it was well worth the time! The house was beautifully done, and all of the artifacts are absolutely stunning!
Ray-Shane C — Google review
Wow! The ladies who worked there were so sweet and knowledgeable. They allowed us to tour to the house and take our time. The history was so amazing. I posted a few pictures but there is so much history in that house you have to go see it for yourself. So much stuff to see. Admission is free but I encourage everyone to donate!

I don't usually tour historical houses but this was worth it. The folks were helpful and told me the history of the house. The house, I believe, is almost all original, as are the artifacts. Donations are accepted rather than an entrance fee. Worth the time? Absolutely. The town of Tyler? I was too early (March 3rd) for the roses and azaleas so didn't see anything else.

While my wife and I were visiting Tyler we went to see the Goodman - LeGrand Museum. The Lady that gave us the tour of the Museum was very nice, at that moment we were the only ones. The house was built in 1859 and everything in the house including Furniture, Clothes, Pictures, Painting and even the Wallpaper is original. Once she finished giving us the history of the Family and the House then on our own we would look at 1st and 2nd floor. She even told us that this House was the first house to have Electricity in the City of Tyler. The City of Tyler is a very nice place to visit. We are planning to go again soon.
George R — Google review
This was an incredible experience. The house and all of its things are very well kept. Both of the ladies that worked that day, were inviting and nice. My tour guide gave me a wealth of information about the history of the house and those that lived in it and I loved it! I am stoked to pass on all that I learned and to recommend this place to friends and family!

Mexican restaurant
Restaurant
Nestled on a hilltop near Tylers Headache Springs Natural Park, Villa Montez is housed in a stunning mansion dating back to 1935. The restaurant specializes in contemporary Latin American cuisine, offering a variety of seafood and meat dishes alongside classic comfort food.
Villa Montez is one of those places I’ve always wanted to try and for some reason, I’ve never made my way around to actually trying it. I’m very guilty of doing this with many restaurants. I called yesterday and made a reservation for 5:30pm today for my wife and I. I spent the good part of last night thinking about it as well haha. When you first walk up to this establishment, you’ll probably find that you’re instantly taken back by the sheer beauty of everything. From the exquisite gardens and sculptures, to the stunning architecture. Everything just seems like it’s where it’s meant to be. When we walked in, we were politely greeted by the hostess and a very kind gentleman by the name of Eli. We informed him of our reservation and he took us right to a table that sat inside a room with massive windows, overlooking the patio. Our waitress came by shortly after and took our drink order. I believe her name was Rosa and she was the absolute best. A minute or 2 went by and she brought our drinks out with some chips and salsa. She also took our food and appetizer order. I ordered the tequila lime chicken pasta as my main dish and my wife wanted the queso fundido as hers. We also got the spinach and artichoke dip. The chips and salsa were incredible. The chips seemed very fresh and still warm and the salsa had a very good flavor. Slight kick, but nothing too much. The spinach and artichoke dip was honestly the best I’ve ever had and I’m not even exaggerating. The roasted jalapeno and garlic was such a nice touch. My wife’s queso had the perfect consistency and flavor and it also came with 3 homemade tortillas. To say that I enjoyed my pasta would be an understatement. The chicken was cooked to perfection, as well as the noodles. The fresh herb pesto cream had such a unique flavor to it in the best way possible. To wrap things up, we ordered a slice of tres leches. We had no idea it would end up being almost 4 inches tall!!! It was so incredibly moist, not soggy. The homemade whipped cream was spectacular. Overall it was an amazing dessert. I hate that I’ve waited so long to try this place. If you’re reading this and you’ve yet to try it out, go now!!!
Nicholas B — Google review
This place was such a surprise and so phenomenal. The service was amazing. I cannot remember her name but it was the younger sister of another server (the older sister also came by and was delightful). The recommendations were perfect. The drinks were delicious. The meals were HUGE and so so incredibly good and unique. Flavors were deep. Chimichuri they put on the meat was top notch. And the chocolate cake… could easily feed 4. It was nuts. Really really great evening. Thank you!
Lesley S — Google review
This restaurant is beautiful, and we had super high expectations since we rented a room for $300 to celebrate a friend's birthday. We had a party of 14. Everyone's food came out and was perfect....except mine and my husband's. I ordered the Chilean sea bass, and it was burnt on the bottom. My husband ordered the Matador special, which was a NY strip, medium rare. 2 others ordered the exact same thing. While they received their plates, my husband was told his was on the way. 30 minutes later, after everyone was done eating, he still didn't have his. All we got was 'sorry about that'. Needless to say, we won't be back.
Brittney B — Google review
We’re visiting from Houston and just knew we had to try the Villa Montez! As you pull in it’s a beautiful view, inside has a nice romantic vibe and don’t let me get started on the food and drinks!! Our server Makenzie was amazing and so kind! Gave us recommendations on what yo try and she didn’t fail us! Definitely a must try when you’re in Tyler!
Braided J — Google review
My husband and I dined at Villa Montez on Sat,10/4/25. 1836 Texas Kitchen is one of our favorite restaurants and we became interested in Villa Montez when we learned it is a sister restaurant. After researching this beautiful mansion, we decided to celebrate our anniversary there. We arrived early for a 6:30 reservation, and we were surprised to be taken downstairs and seated in what appeared to be a basement. There was a party of 6 or 8 around the corner from us that left shortly after we were seated. So there we were for our special anniversary dinner in a beautiful mansion, but we didn’t enjoy the beautiful mansion because we were seated in a dreary, unattractive basement with no ambiance and no energy, and were completely by ourselves except when our server popped in. By the time we received our food, we were feeling super disappointed about our dining choice. In hindsight, we should have been asked to be moved, but really didn’t want to be those people. We did mention our disappointment to our server after the appetizer arrived. He was a very good server, but did not offer to improve our experience. We enjoyed the Chino Latino rolls. Our entrees were the sea bass and shrimp enchiladas, which we thought were average. After our meal, our server let us know there was an external exit to the parking lot and we didn’t have to go up the stairs to exit. We opted to go up the stairs to get a peek at what could have been.

My husband and I took my parents to Villa Montez for their 61st anniversary in August (yes, I'm slow about posting this review!). We decided upon Villa Montez due to recommendations from friends. We got there right at opening time, so parking and seating were not an issue. I had the Pollo Durango, my husband had the Shrimp Enchiladas, Daddy had the Seafood Enchiladas, and Momma had the Margarita Shrimp. All the food arrive quickly, was piping hot and delicious. The jalapeno mojito was tasty. Portion sizes were great, prices reasonable for the quality of food and the server was attentive. The atmosphere was nice, chairs could use a little padding, but overall pretty comfortable. They even brought my parents Tres Leches Cake to celebrate their anniversary.

Amazing food. Service started slow, but ended up good overall. The atmosphere could be better, construction of an addition is underway, and the outdoor experience wasn't great. (Also noticed it was very loud indoors when we moved due to rain.)

Ross M — Google review
When we were looking for a place to celebrate our anniversary, Bernards came highly recommended. Unfortunately, I think they have passed their prime. Instead of the fine dining establishment they were advertised to be, it looks more like a place that time has forgotten. Service is completely inconsistent, with our server being extremely hesitant, and not quite as helpful as I would have hoped, while other servers around us going above and beyond with their tables. When our waitress approached us when we were seated, she asked if we were celebrating anything and we let her know it was our 25th anniversary. Literally nothing else happened about that. Nothing was said, nothing was done, nothing else was brought up about it. I have no problem with that, but why ask if you’re not going to do something about it? It just seemed quite odd. The theme of the food can best be described as “Rushed”. We were there with reservations at 7 o’clock on a Tuesday night and the restaurant was not even half full. We ordered three appetizers because why not. The calamari and the stuffed mushrooms came out within five minutes of ordering, even beating the bread service. The calamari had most definitely been previously cooked as it was soggy and flavorless. The stuffed mushrooms were some of the most odd I have ever had. The stuffing and sauce were fine, but they were put in uncooked mushroom caps, which made for a huge textural issue for us. When I brought this to the waitresses attention asking if that’s the way it was meant to be served, she did not know and just walked away. The baked brie came out after the salad course and had not been properly prepared before wrapping in crust and had a very offputting flavor. This is another one that had been cooked ahead of time because the crust was so soggy. It was past falling apart. The salad course itself was nothing but a small iceberg salad that had been premade a considerable amount of time before. It was watery and chewy. We both went with veal dishes, both of which was undercooked. I had the veal marsala which looked beautiful, but they did not cook the dish long enough to allow the sauce to turn into what makes a marsala sauce magical. It was just uncooked wine. My wife ordered the stuffed veal which was so tough that it shook the table when trying to be cut. They did not braise it enough to allow it to soften. The mashed potatoes were so watery that they had the consistency of library paste. The vegetables that came with the dish were completely undercooked and almost raw as well. To be fair, the bread service with the olive tapenade was really good. I hate to be so negative, but when a restaurant portrays itself as a fine dining establishment, there is some level of expectation from the customer. In my opinion, we were overcharged for a very subpar product. Had the food been decent quality, I think the price would’ve been very fair and would not have complained about the pricing at all. My best advice, avoid Bernard‘s Mediterranean Restaurant in Tyler Texas.

Bernard's is one of the best restaurants in Tyler. I love the ambiance as well as the food. Krystal makes some really good drinks, and I really like the chicken viennoise from off the lunch menu. The Mexican martini is also amazing from here. Highly recommended restaurant for date nights or even date lunches!

The Grove Kitchen + Gardens is a must try for Brunch while in Tyler, TX! The staff were good, the atmosphere was good, and the food was great. The Brunch setting included young, old, family + couple - friendly guests. There was a live band and optional outdoor seating with perfectly not so scorching weather. The food was prepared with freshly made (tortilla chips), and hot menu items. The portion sizes were very reasonable, and pricing was comparable to other brunch spots in the area. Service was pleasant and seating was available even without reservations. There’s a cool bar area that is also available away from the general dining and live performance areas.l if interested.

5 Stars – Exceptional Service, Delicious Food and Great Atmosphere! 06/08/2025 We were visiting from DTX and made a quick pit stop here for lunch, and we are so glad we did! Even though we didn’t have a reservation, the hostess kindly got us seated quickly during a very busy lunch rush. The food was absolutely delicious, the atmosphere was welcoming and lively, but the real star of our visit was our waitress, Lauren. Lauren was phenomenal from start to finish. The moment we sat down, she noticed our table was slightly wobbly and immediately fixed it with a towel without us even saying a word. That small gesture set the tone for what turned out to be the best service we've ever received in our lives. We've dined at high-end, top-tier restaurants from coast to coast, and Lauren’s attention to detail, professionalism, and genuine care blew every single one of them out of the water. She truly went above and beyond. In our opinion, she’s the kind of talent that belongs in a management/GM position. If you're looking for a spot with fantastic food and next-level service, this place is a must and if you're lucky enough to be seated in Lauren’s section, you’re in for a real treat! Thank you again, Lauren! (Hopefully, her name is not misspelled by me, like Loren or other variation)

It's a lovely place, I really like their, coffee drink. 😅 I forgot the name of it. It's delicious. If they would have more entertainment later in the evening when most people just get out of the house. I would have given it five stars. My flesh servant and I truly enjoyed being able to get on the stage while it was empty and danced. It's a very pretty place, safe clean environment. 👍🏽🫰🏽🥳 Winter for my 49th birthday 💃🏻🕺🏼

Excellent delicious food; relaxing casual/ classy ambiance with live music. We celebrated our daughter’s birthday and Madison provided us with excellent service. Our daughter is vegan, & we made reservations ahead of time, the chef is top notch. Thank you

So excited my go-to place has reopened. Of course we ordered our favorite beef Wellington which was cooked perfectly. Unfortunately, the replaced the clams with linguine with Calabrian shrimp with linguine. Although it was tasty, it was a little heavy handed with the Calabrian. I’m used to Calabrian to be smoky, and slightly sweet with some heat but this was over the top. I’ll still come to the Grover and try their other dishes. Love the atmosphere.

I had the pleasure of eating at The Grove Kitchen & Gardens yesterday evening. It was my first time going in over 2 years. The place looks just as nice as I remember. It has a certain ambiance that isn’t matched by any other restaurant in Tyler. I ordered the Steak & Cake. It’s a 4oz Filet, 4oz Maryland Style Crab Cake, 1oz Lump Crab Meat topped with "The Money Sauce", Yukon Gold Mash, and Asparagus. I asked for some chimichurri on the side as well, seeing as theirs is really good. The filet was incredibly tender. I was even able to cut it with a fork. The crab was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Everything just went together so well, especially with the various sauces. I highly recommend this dish to anyone who hasn’t tried it. If you haven’t been to The Grove yet, you’re missing out.

The FOOD was absolutely amazing…. From the main course to the dessert!! The service was so good that our waiter knew what we needed and brought it to our table without a request!!! The atmosphere/ambiance is top tier. There is a room for everyone. If you want music, there is a room that has a bar, couches and tables to enjoy the entertainment. If you want a quiet nice evening, there is a very spacious area for that. If you want privacy, there are private rooms. This is by far one of the best restaurants I have eaten at in a very long time. 10 out of 10 on everything!!

Boutique
The Potpourri House is a charming garden-style bistro and boutique in East Texas, offering a unique dining and shopping experience. Established in the 1980s, this family-owned destination serves eclectic American fare such as Thai egg rolls and Louisiana-style stuffed tilapia. The menu features an array of dishes including salads, burgers, seafood, pasta, and chicken prepared in various ways.
Potpourri, aptly named. A great array of scents and tastes for most any palate. Service was EXCELLENT, friendly, knowledgeable, and definitely on their game in a polite and authentic manner. Well maintained interiors and clean as a whistle. The restaurant is also well run and managed, from what I could see. Menu is thoughtfully crafted and the kitchen serves it up! GREAT salad/soup bar with a fantastic array of choice salads to choose from. Loved the hydroponic herb garden, as well as the art and furnishings. Nice meeting rooms, should one have a special event. I witnessed two VERY large tables amidst a brisk Saturday afternoon business, and all hands on deck had the two large groups and everyone else taken care of promptly w little wait on anything. If you're in Tyler, treat yourself to a super dining experience. I would be shocked if Potpourri didn't knock your socks off. UPDATE: I have been to this restaurant several times after posting this... The Potpourri House continues to impress, no matter what I order!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Potpourri House in Tyler is a true gem! From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is warm and inviting. The salad bar is fresh and full of great options, and the main dishes are always flavorful and beautifully presented. The staff is kind, attentive, and quick to serve. I especially love browsing the boutique after a great meal—it’s full of unique gifts, clothing, and decor. Whether you're having lunch with friends or celebrating a special occasion, this place never disappoints. It’s one of my favorite spots in Tyler and I highly recommend it to anyone in the area! I particularly love the salad bar

I really really enjoyed my service and food here! Everything on that salad bar looked so good as well. My sandwich was perfect.

Been here twice, both for work lunches, and each time has been wonderful! I get the salad bar due to dietary needs, but everything my coworkers have ordered looks good and they say is wonderful! A little hard to find the entrance. Looks as if you are walking into a store not a restaurant m, but as soon as you walk in you will see the restaurant.

Service was poor. Waitress was new, we know because she told us several times. Salads came out with meals, that was odd. CFS steak was more breading than steak. Rolls werent served with meals, included per menu. First time for us to try it and we won’t be back. Also the tables are very small. Our experience didn’t come close to the high overall ratings.

Rarely do I give a 5 star review because in reality is anything actually perfect? Well The Potpourri House is. The food was absolutely delicious. I had a chicken fried steak that the menu claimed was the best in East Texas, it was correct. The green beans reminded me of my Meemaws and the sweet tea was fantastic. My wife had chicken almond crepes (I think) that she loved and ate so quickly I wasn't able to get a picture. The server was great and very attentive. The atmosphere was surprisingly nice for a restaurant stuck in the middle of a boutique store. We will be back for sure, there was a salmon meal that I want to try!

Never eaten here so I can't speak for the food...BUT.....the strawberry salad dressing....OMG!! it's worth driving from Lufkin to buy a quart or two. 7-25-2024 Stopped by to get some more dressing and ate lunch there. Ended up getting the all you call eat salad bar. Salad was good but I should have just had the two soups. One was a portobello mushroom and the other a green chile with sweet bell peppers. Dang talking about good. 10-18-24… stopped in to get some of that amazing strawberry salad dressing. Got home and it tasted a little different. Several nights later we had some more, still a little odd tasting. Prior to putting the dressing on I stirred it up. Taste still not right. After maybe 15 minutes of eating I looked at the dressing it had already separated back to what it looked liked when it came out of the fridge Think I wasted my money on this batch. Look at the picture and see what you think

Diner
The Diner is a spacious and modern eatery that offers both classic American dishes and Mexican-inspired options. Many customers have visited this breakfast spot multiple times and generally find the morning meals to be satisfying. However, some have noted inconsistencies with the food when it's delivered, especially with the sausage biscuit. Sometimes, the cheese is missing or the biscuit is overcooked and too hard.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️The Diner is hands down one of the best breakfast spots in Tyler! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy atmosphere. The food is fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Whether you’re craving classic pancakes, a hearty omelet, or their famous chicken and waffles, every dish is absolutely delicious. The service is top-notch, and you can tell they truly care about their customers. If you're looking for a 5/5 breakfast experience, The Diner is the place to be! Highly recommend!

Visiting Tyler and stopped by for breakfast. It was amazing! Food was delicious! The chicken and waffles, avacado tostada with eggs was so good. My kids enjoyed their meal as well. We'll definitely be back.

It was okay we ordered the patty melt and the chicken and waffles. The patty melt was better than the chicken and waffles which is a little disappointing considering it’s a breakfast place. The chicken seems crispy and perfect on the outside unfortunately it ended up being a bit slimy textured on the inside I finished majority of it because I was hungry but again it was disappointing. The waffles was great and they have some great fries that came with the patty melt as well. Service was great and the restaurant was clean.

Service was awesome and the food was amazing! Pictured is the Meat Lover's Omlette and a substituted side of Cinnamon Roll Pancakes. The only thing was there was a hair on that tomato so kitchen staff may need to wear nets. I just tossed the tomato aside. Still 5 out of 5 overall!

We visited Tyler for the weekend. Dropped into the Diner on our way out of town. Wow the food was great! Loved the avocado toast. Hubby got an omelette.

Great breakfast and lunch food. Ana was our waitress and she was friendly and attentive. My husband had a chicken fried steak and I had the cinnamon roll pancakes. Both were awesome! Will definitely go back.
