The Grace Hudson Museum & Sun House is a must-visit attraction in Ukiah, offering a glimpse into the artistic history of the area and the lives of renowned residents Grace Carpenter Hudson and Dr. John W. Hudson. The museum showcases an impressive collection of art, including works by Grace Carpenter Hudson and other local Native American artists. Visitors can also enjoy live musical performances and rotating exhibitions, such as the current showcase of Ray Strong's Northern California landscapes.
I visited the Museum on Wednesday, January 29th. Almost didn't get a tour of the Sun House, but through kindness of Alyssa had a chance to get immersed in the atmosphere where Grace lived and created.
The grounds are well kept and very spiritual, and the gallery has the most amazing art piece, the central of which is, of course, The Nattional Thorn.
I highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in learning about the native people of Northern California through the eyes of a compassionate to their plight individual.

I visited this on a Sunday and there were just 4 visitors including me. As I used to paint in oils three decades ago and also an acolyte of Native American Art by Grace Carpenter Hudson, it was a day well spent. All original art exists in this small space, but you can also check out her 2,400 sq ft house that has her studio. Her father A O was a famous photographer and the entry to the museum begins with the family tree followed by A O's photos and then you enter the paradise. The curator is a friendly woman who is honest about what she knows. There is also a space showcasing Pomo baskets. I did not visit the garden where plants used by natives are grown as it was getting late. There is also a shop selling souvenirs, books connected to Grace's art. This is strictly for serious people who love history or art. Bringing in kids will not work as there are no restaurants or stands.
Incredible museum! Never heard of Grace before entering and left with chills feeling amazed at her life and legacy. Extremely talented artist with a beautiful heart. Used her talents to do good and leave this world better than she found it.
Not central to the experience but found attached special exhibition photo interesting from the mix of galaxy and female form introduced - If a visit to the interior of the Grace Hudson House itself suggest calling in advance to check for docent availability (limited by volunteer)
Beautiful Craftsman home with a docent to explain everything and lots of local art in the museum as well as Grace Hudson's art. She left her estate to her nephew who later left get to the city. It's a celebration of a life not someone who is famous really an ordinary person just living her life and trying to do the best she could do. She was a lovely artist but during the Depression it was hard to sell art. Definitely worth a visit
This is one of Ukiah must see destinations, and one of the greatest tourist attractions the town has to offer. I highly recommend scheduling in advance a tour of Grace Hudson's house/ studio. It is not only one of the best preserved piece of History Ukiah has to offer, but something we can all be proud of that call Ukiah home.🏡

The museum was a pleasant surprise break in Ukiah,the Sun house did not have a curator available at the time to explore inside,but the back to the land exhibit in the museum was trippy and the Grace Hudson collection was exquisite. How she was able to catch the energy of the subjects,mostly Pomo People was mesmerizing.
The gift shop sold amazing craft works from current local artists,some of which were featured in the traveling back to the land exhibit.

Todd Grove Park is a beloved green space in Ukiah, situated on the western edge of the city. The park features various play areas for children, including a towering rocket ship that kids can climb to the top. Visitors reminisce about annual Easter egg hunts and family reunions at the picnic area. Some express concern about safety due to falling tree branches and lack of smooth pathways for strolling with young children.

Awesome park!! HUGE grass area so it'd be great for dogs or running or any outdoor grass play! The playground is AWESOME!! HUGE slides, and awesome play equipment you won't find other places including a spinny ride, a standing teeter totter, and a giant 4 story rocket ship to climb with a slide!!
We have a new favorite park in Ukiah. Todd Grove Park is excellent for all ages toddler through eight years old easily! The girls (4 & 5) climbed the top of every slide and had a great time. I highly recommend you check it out.
This is a beautiful spacious park with a public pool, playground, restrooms and a stage for live music 🎶
We stopped here for a picnic lunch after Vichy Springs. Very nice park. The swimming pool was closed for the summer in September. Apparently high school swim team access only.
A local grandma told how she climbed the rocket ship feature as a child, but could not fit into it now as an adult.
Peaceful. There's a really great tree for climbing. You'll know it when you see it. Ate some sushi with Michela on a bench and walked to get ice cream. She got spunch bob and I got spidey. We heard an alarm coming from the pool area? I joked that someone pooped in the pool but who knows what it was for.
Awesome playground for the kids. They had a pool but it was not open at the time l was there.
Lovely park, The Trees are simply amazing, the park is well maintained and there is free swimming and a movie once a month in the summer months, food trucks are there during the concert in the park and during the free swim movie nights! Low Gap Park, located in the west hills of Ukiah, spans 80 acres and has a rich history as it was previously used as a dump, lumber mill, and millworkers housing development. The park features remnants of its past uses. Visitors can enjoy off-leash dog areas, playgrounds, a skate park, disc golf course, picnic spots, hiking trails of varying difficulty levels suitable for all ages and abilities.
Was staying in Ukiah the Sunday night of Labor Day weekend, on my way from Redwood State Park to Sacramento. Went for the City View trail Monday morning. Tried getting to the U via the U Access Trail, but it was getting too steep and long, and needed to be back at the hotel to checkout by 11, so didn't go to the summit. Some people later told me that it was quite far, so good decision. Still a good trail run - 4 miles total with 900 ft elevation gain.

Great frisbee golf course! One of the best! Also hiking trails of varying degrees of difficulty suited for anyone... Creeks with salamanders and frogs, mushrooms, ferns and small redwoods. Safe fenced in dog park and a skateboard park out front. Barbecues picnic tables and two children playgrounds also available.
Love this park. It has everything: Tennis courts, skate park, archery range, disk golf, playgrounds, a dog park, and more. Great place for a BBQ picnic. Could probably use better security, though. You might encounter some people who are on drugs, or high schoolers smoking pot on the playground. Not always super family friendly.
Sooooo happy we found this place. Ukiah is a great stopping place on our travels and finding somewhere our dog can run around safely while keeping our kid entertained is invaluable. Not only do they have two large areas where dogs can run off leash, there's great playgrounds, a skate park, disc golf course, a picnic area, and hiking trails. We will definitely be back.
Beautiful park and separate dog parks for small and big dogs. There’s so many trails. The scenic trail is very long and definitely worth it when you get to the top and it still continues along the west mountains. Some of the trails have redwood trees. One redwood on the water trail, the closest one to the park.
We go here a lot. Wonderful dog park, kids park, and hiking trails. Nice picnic area for family gatherings. Our family enjoys this park for the abundance of opportunities in one location.
Nice park, we were traveling thru town and stopped for the disk golf. There are a lot of things to do at this park. It does not allow camping but if it did that would be a destination as well. The dog park is large and uncrowded.
Good hiking! Has a great trail that has a view of the valley. Nice sized dog park, tennis courts, skate park, playgrounds, discgolf, multiple picnic areas.

What truly sets Patrona apart is its dynamic menu, which evolves with the seasons and highlights fresh ingredients sourced from local markets.
We had an amazing dinner in a wonderful setting. The food was Delicious, the cocktail was well balanced, and yummy. (we ordered a second round) There were three different desserts on the table. It was hard to choose a favorite! We look forward to our next dinner at Patrona’s

I was looking for a place to have lunch in Ukiah, somewhere that wasn’t a chain restaurant with the usual frozen until fried to order menu options. Found Patrona and immediately fell in love. It’s an absolute gem with wonderful staff, welcoming atmosphere and the food is FRESH and thoughtfully prepared. It was honestly the best dining experience I’ve had in a long time outside of my own home. Special thanks to Heather, she was a very informative and delightful host. The ingredients are sourced locally so the menu may vary depending on supply and season but you can’t go wrong with anything you choose to order, including the signature cocktails. I personally won’t miss this spot anytime I am in Ukiah!
Had oysters, feta salad, steak tartare. Everything was excellent. The cocktails were strong and flavorful. The oysters were fresh. I enjoyed my shrub cocktail. The steak that we received was much larger than described on the menu. Had a really nice experience with Credence as our server. My only observation is that the menu seemed kind of plain, but if they can make simple things well I guess that's not bad. It just seemed uninspired
I always enjoy the atmosphere here, especially the outdoor seating. The food is sometimes great and sometimes not. Same with the service. It’s a bit pricey for small town Ukiah, but has always been one of my go to restaurants when I’m in town.
The waiter was very good . We really enjoyed his appreciation for his job. And the food soooooo good it makes you want to slap your mamma. Lol. Absolutely worth coming back... I had to come back to add to this review. After trying the 3 sampler plate dessert . CREMEBRULEE, LAVA CAKE WITH COFFEE ICE-CREAM ON TOP,AND PEAR TART and it was sinful.
We ordered from the lunch special menu. The food tasted great, but the portions were on the small side. The restaurant itself is nice. There were two parties going on - happy birthday songs here and there; the world can be very happy!
After a wonderful 10 hour day of driving north on Highway 1 and navigating our way across Mountain View Road (Hwy 253), we landed in Ukiah for the night and were in search of a decent meal. Imagine our surprise when we happened upon Patrona!
From the moment we walked in the door, we were welcomed with true hospitality by our waiter, Nicolás. We sat on the patio and quickly ordered cocktails. Not only was it the best Manhattan we've ever sipped, each was crafted to perfection and the first personally delivered to our table by Creedance. What a great bartender! Between the service we received, the drinks we sipped, the deliciously unique Wedge salad we devoured, and the ambiance we enjoyed, it was a perfect ending to a perfect day.
A great restaurant is hard to find. Great service, even harder. And we aren't easy to impress on both fronts. The team at Patrona exceeded our hopeful expectations for the evening and we can't wait for our travels to bring us back for many repeated experiences. We hope you enjoy yours as much as we enjoyed ours!
We traveled from Sorthern California to see family. I am very happy they suggested Patrona's in Ukiah. The food was absolutely AMAZING, service was top notch professional and friendly. We will be back on our next trip to Northern California.

The Ukiah Farmers Market has been a beloved tradition since 1977, offering a wide array of locally grown produce every Saturday morning at Alex R. Thomas Plaza. Despite being one of the largest markets in the county, it maintains a strong sense of community and family. The fertile valley surrounding Ukiah provides an abundance of fresh agricultural products, attracting visitors from near and far. In addition to fresh vegetables and organic goods, visitors can also find vegan Thai food and gluten-free options.
Love going to the farmers market, has lots of local produce. Very friendly people. People seem to visit from far away and its worth it if you're in town.There's a woman selling all vegan thai food which is my favorite. Anyone with EBT gets double the money when purchasing with chips.

Ukiah is one of my favorite farmers markets in California. They have great local produce from superb farmers. I enjoy the New Gluten-free bread that has some great vegan options. Oh and one of the local farmers has amazing sprouts. Tasty and delicious!

Great food, friendly servers, and fun atmosphere. Driving from the Redwoods to San Jose, we stopped in Ukiah for dinner and searched for "best places to eat in Ukiah". We chose La Cocina and it was a great decision. It was packed on a Thursday night. We saw a table with what looked like a hot fajitas served in a bowl and asked what that was. Molcajete! We split that with an extra side of rice and beans. We also asked for a sweet and spicy drink and he recommended the mango margarita. We got the non-alcoholic version and it was delicious. We enjoyed our experience and highly recommend La Cocina! Enjoy!
Got here at 9:30am and there were already 4-5 big tables having margaritas and beer. Well, then I will join too! Joanna was our server, and she was awesome. She and her counterparts were very attention. If I just glanced their way for a second, one of them would come over to ask if I needed anything.
Food is really good, reasonably priced and good fresh quality.
Parking looked easy, although we walked over from a nearby hotel. I think I had a mango or peach margarita, and it was GOOD.

The food was delicious. I had the chilaquiles poblanos. The staff was super friendly and attentive. We stopped to have brunchbat about 11.30am and it was very calm and peaceful.

I spent almost $18 on a burrito that was supposed to be stripsteak, beans, rice and cheese. Unfortunately I got almost no cheese even though I paid for two kinds. Almost no steak and almost all rice. I would not go here again unfortunately. Just overall very disappointing The server was super nice but other than that just overall extremely disappointed. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this place
This was a great meal for the price, we both got Chimichangas a chicken which had so much flavor as well fried pork belly. For the price and quickness of serves, La Cocina was a great choice for dinner. It is like 40 feet from our hotel and couldn’t be happier by eating there. I highly recommend stopping by for dinner or a meal.

What a fun, funky spot. Fabulous wait staff! Loved the stage area and wished we were here during a live show. The decor and lighting make this a great spot for a date or fun outing with friends. Really enjoyed trying a flight of on-tap selections. Nice that there are 4 and 8 flight options for UBC and other producers. Don't sleep on the in-house desserts!

It is awesome they allow dogs. The place is cute and the fresh roses are a nice touch. The burger is excellent. The fish and chips not so much. The batter was a bit raw/under cooked on the inside. The fries were nice and crisp. The server was nice enough, not helpful with the menu for suggestions. It is downtown so great to walk around and check out the shops
My wife had a bison burger and loved it. It was served exactly how she asked, very rare and my margarita pizza was awesome. Wasn’t busy but steady. Not an advocate but they are flying gay pride flag. My wife didn’t like the Pilsner beer but thoroughly enjoyed the porter which honestly should be on nitro. I loved the west coast IPA but no surprise there. For dessert we split a pumpkin date ice cream and we loved it! The service here was amazing and we couldn’t speak better of our server Brice.
All I had was a Pint of the Palace Porter. No food for me. I sat at the bar and chatted it up with the locals. Real friendly people and the staff was great. A great micro brew atmosphere. The bar was full when I arrived on a Wednesday at 7:30 with only 2 seats empty.

This is a cozy brewery restaurant with good beer selection and food. It also has a well stocked bar, especially stocked with many additive free Tequilas like Fortaleza, which are hard to find in many bars.
Tried the Tuna Poke and the Taco. Food was good, not the traditional recipes, though. The West Coast IPA I tried was balanced and well hoped.
I recommend this place for the town visitors who like local brews and seafood.
Tasty lunch, great service, and delicious beers! I especially enjoyed the grilled rock fish tacos. Hope to come back for live music sometime. Pleasant experience. We sat inside, although they also had some nice sidewalk tables for al fresco dining. 🍻
Ukiah Brewing Company is such a great spot downtown! I love the relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, and wide selection of beers on tap. Their food menu has something for everyone—whether I’m grabbing a casual lunch, enjoying a night out with friends, or bringing the family along. It’s the perfect mix of good food, great drinks, and local charm that makes Ukiah feel like home.
My favorites are: Ahi tartar, ceaser with prawns of course, a margarita pizza and add pepperoni, and of course their delicious deep fried green beans and fried pickles are a must!!

My wife opted for the French Onion Soup, which was equally extraordinary. The rich, savory broth was layered with caramelized onions and topped with a perfectly golden, bubbly layer of cheese. Absolutely incredible! The food was beyond phenomenal. Service impeccable. We had the Brussels sprouts that had an amazing sauce, the French onion soup was so good and the mushroom pizza was to die for. They also cater. Highly recommend. We will return.
This place used to be great! We went tonight for my wife’s birthday and it was a real disappointment. The food has definitely gone downhill. We ordered the ceviche and bastones for appetizers. The bastones have definitely shrunk quite a bit. The sauces are nice though. The ceviche came with 3 corn chips. When we asked for a few more we were given only 3 more. We ordered 3 pizzas two were great and one that I’ve ordered before just wasnt as good as I remember it being. The service was slow and not at all friendly. Honestly I felt like the waitress just didn’t like us. Maybe she was having an off day. It happens to everyone. Either way I guess we have to drive to Santa Rosa for decent food.
We had Cultivo cater our wedding and they were incredible! The food was excellent, with lots of locally sourced options, and all our guests loved it. The staff were also really great - not only were they very professional, showing up early and helping with setup, but they were very friendly and easy to work with as well! They even went above and beyond what we asked them to do and helped with the bar and cake. We already knew Cultivo was good from trying the restaurant, but were still pleasantly surprised by how great they were at catering as well. Would highly recommend them for an event!
I guess if you just wanna post photos of food it's alright as it is presented well but the food just wasn't good. My appetizer was flavorless fried bits and then I got a beet salad to go and there was seriously maybe 5 pieces of lettuce in there and it was dark, slimy, and wilted...plus the salad dressing was already mixed in with the salad even tho I ordered it to go(i order to go salads from all across ans have never had it not come with the dressing on the side). Idk, it seemed like a decent place to grab a drink and the food was presented well but the quality of food and the preparation was very subpar.
I was passing through Ukiah and this place was recommended to me. The fried cheese curds were amazing, and the honey mustard dipping sauce was delicious. We had a happy hour wedge salad that was a good size, only lacking bacon. The pizza was fantastic. The wood-fired crust was really flavorful. I wish I could have tried all the pizzas! The ingredients were really fresh. Our server was friendly and attentive. I'd definitely go back.

Chipotle Mexican Grill is a quick-service restaurant that specializes in Mexican cuisine. They provide a variety of options such as customizable burritos, tacos, and bowls. Recently, during Valentine's Day, the restaurant experienced technical difficulties with their ordering machines and as a result, they decided to offer complimentary meals to their customers. Not only did they provide free food, but the staff also demonstrated exceptional friendliness and customer service. This incident further solidified the positive reputation that Chipotle employees have consistently upheld.
This was the best tasting, cleanest at most comfortable to be in chipotle that I ever visited. Also, the staff was so incredibly friendly that they really made my day. If I’m ever back, I sure will visit again.

My first time at a Chipotle anywhere. I think of it now as the Subway of Mexican food. A line of freshly made selections. You decide which type of meat(s), which style of wrap (burrito, taco, bowl, salad) and what you want in it all (rice, beans, tofu, guac, sour cream, cheese, salsa, queso, etc). Then you decide on a drink. Offers some healthier alternatives to soda for those who want that. I appreciate that. Can definitely taste the freshness of the ingredients. Staff are super friendly. Pleasantly surprised at the quality.
We eat there once or twice a month. The food is really good. I always get a bowl. My husband gets a bowl!

I eat here occasionally and the food is often quite good, but pricey for what it is. This last time I ordered a burrito as I often do and the amount the employee put on it was barely enough to fill a small child’s stomach; let alone a 6’2” man…
Bye bye $15. Had to go to a second restaurant to get me through the night.
I literally got a burrito bowl and I cut my throat and choked on a leaf later to find 2 leafs. One huge one. And they aren't bay leafs they are from a tree. Absolutely pissed. And they're lame chat bot didn't help anything.
What can you say? It's Chipotle. A chain. The same exact experience, no matter where you find it. Bland fast food, uninterested staff. If you're a white bread person, this is for you. If you want real Mexican food, you'll take 5 minutes out of your treadmill life, remove the blinders from your eyes, and find something great to eat elsewhere.
The food is so yummy! I enjoy the veggie bowl I get or bean burrito. Always their food and service is tops!

The taco salad is large and delicious. Included are chips and salsa - both awesome. The cashier was very nice. Two of us shared this and still had half to take home.

Fast service… but that’s the only positive point of this place. Came here and placed an easy order, 2 bean and cheese burritos. They came out in about 3 minutes. However the chips left a lot to be desired for, and the small amount of salsa was just not enough. The burritos were good… but the cheese wasn’t melted, and my sons was cold in the last half.
Great location, and friendly service. Just would have been nice if the food was a bit more on point.
Depressing area. Heard them talk about me and they didnt know i understood the language. I am latina and was dissapointed with the area, ambiance, food and service. I asked for tortillas and paid so much extra (10$). Food was horrible and barely a meal. It tasted bad and i know, ive cooked it before but i was tired that day. Bad service they forgot my drink until i proved i had payed.
Just go to taco bell at least they will give you what you paid for.
Super Taco is always reliable. The food is fresh, portions are generous, and everything I’ve tried has been very good. The staff is friendly and quick, even during busy hours. It’s an easy choice when I want something filling and well-made. A place I keep coming back to.
Good service, nice people. Food lacks. Burritos packed with rice or beans, nearly no meat. Tried a breakfast burrito, hardly any egg & potatoe, have to pay extra for sausage or bacon in a breakfast burrito?
It was stuffed full of beans. Asked several times for extra guacamole, sour cream & jalapenos, never happens!

With a name like "Super Taco" I knew I had to confirm if this was indeed the truth.
While I cant comment on other dishes served at this restaurant I can attest to the delicious tacos de tripas, lengua, and Buche.
Simply put, I really enjoyed the texture of meat from the melt in your mouth sensation to the crispy chew of the fried meat. Topped with fresh veggies and a spicy salsa estaba Muy rico!
I ordered a carnitas plate. Carnitas were so dry as if they were left out under the sun for days. I called the restaurant to advise of my experience and the response from the smarty pants was, "I didn't serve it". No sweety you didn't serve it, but you represent this socalled restaurant. NEVER AGAIN!!! How this place has stayed in business so long is beyond me. TRASH!!!!
Best mexican place I ever tried in California, everything tastes authentic and fresh.
