Natural History Museums
Nevada State Museum, located in Carson City, is a must-visit for history enthusiasts. Housed in the historic Carson City Mint building, it offers a glimpse into the state's vibrant past. The museum features exhibits on Nevada's history and cultural heritage, including the renowned Carson City Mint exhibit. Visitors can also explore natural history displays and learn about the ethnic memoirs of native Indians at The Stewart Indian School Cultural Center & Museum.
Definite MUST SEE for Young & Old Alike🤗 As first-time visitors to the Lake Tahoe area, we were encouraged to check out the Nevada State Museum in Carson City—and we’re so glad we did! This museum exceeded our expectations with its rich variety of exhibits and insightful presentations of Nevada’s fascinating history. Housed in the original U.S. Mint building from the late 1800s, the museum features a remarkable underground mineshaft that gives visitors a glimpse into the state’s mining legacy. We especially enjoyed learning about the Comstock Lode and its role in Nevada’s path to statehood. The mineral displays were informative and well presented, showing not only the physical beauty of the specimens but also the process of excavation and their societal impact. One traveling exhibit that stood out included artistic side-by-side portraits of individuals in their everyday lives versus their ceremonial traditions—an incredibly powerful and moving visual experience. Other highlights included fossilized dinosaur bones, natural history specimens, and beautifully preserved birds and mammals. The museum does a fantastic job blending natural science with human history. This is truly a must-visit for anyone traveling near Carson City or Lake Tahoe—an engaging, educational, and enriching experience for all ages. We plan to come back again someday and bring our five year-old grandson❤️

Outstanding museum for all ages. Lots of dioramas, a full on mine simulationz and a full size mammoth skeleton. Tons of fascinating stuff to read from all eras, short films if you have time, and a couple of audio exhibits. One wing focuses on Native American history. Can spend an hour here and get lots out of it, or up to a half day for more. Welcoming staff, too, and a beautiful historic building with tasteful modern additions, entrance on the modern back side.

This place is an absolute gem! We were traveling through the area and decided to take in the mint demonstration of coin stamping. It was amazing! The two volunteers were so knowledgeable and it was incredible to see history like this take place again. Such a phenomenal demonstration! The rest of the museum was really enjoyable as well. They had a variety of different exhibits and something for everyone! Highly recommend!! Be sure to check out the line exhibit in the basement & also take in the historical movie in the theater room! Well worth it!
Cyndi H — Google review
This was one of the best museums to date we've been to. The mining exhibit was so cool, never seen anything like it before in a museum. They dug out a good portion of the basement and made it look like a working 1800s mine, it was definitely worth the visit! They still strike mint coins on Saturday and we'll be back for that in the future. Lots of geology, dinosaurs, mining, taxidermy and especially the history firearms exhibits were great for me.
Talius937 — Google review
Such a great experience when we stopped in Carson City. We loved every exhibition and the value per ticket is awesome! Definitely bring your family.
Gabriela M — Google review
I went during Nevada Day and I’ll have to come back when it’s less busy so I can take some time to read the different exhibits, but it was really cool what I did get to check out. The mine in the basement was pretty interesting, and the geology exhibit was informative. Only downside was that I couldn’t find a direction to the mint part but like I said I’ll definitely be back when it’s less busy.

A wonderful place to visit to learn about the history of Nevada. You will be thoroughly immersed in in learning here and surprised you were actually in a museum. Conveniently located off the main through drag. Price for admission was awesome for a large family. It's refreshing that museums such as these are affordable to families. Ultimately, the rewards is in the the children's positive experience learning something about something. The museum does a great job illustrating its role in the mining industry. Kids will love going in mine and walking through a mockup of a typical old west town. I am amazed at the amount of effort and time has been put in to create an immersive experience. The museum houses many artifacts, from guns to clothing of various time periods in Nevada. Another highlight was the coin mint press presentation. On our visit the mint press was not working. However, the presenter did a fantastic job explaining the role this coin mint press played in the Western United States. I learn much about the sheer size and mass of this press and the challenge to house the press in the museum. The grounds are kept fantastic. A nice gift shop is available for purchases that support the museum.

Amazing, a must visit museum. What an incredible place. The exhibits are thoughtfully curated and beautifully presented, making it an absolute delight to explore. I could easily spend hours here immersing myself in the rich history and captivating displays. As someone who’s visited museums around the world, I can confidently say this one is truly world-class.

Museums
Nestled in Carson City, the Nevada State Railroad Museum serves as a captivating tribute to the rich history of railroads in Nevada. This museum is home to an impressive array of historic trains and cars that transport visitors back to the golden age of steam locomotives, which were once vital arteries for transportation across the nation. As you wander through its halls, you'll encounter meticulously restored locomotives and passenger cars that highlight both engineering brilliance and aesthetic design from their respective eras.
Wonderful experience, the volunteers that work here are full of amazing information and so happy to share stories with you. All of the displays are keep in great condition. This is a must see location when in town.

Hey everyone, it’s Nevada Lao Bai! Today we’re visiting the Nevada State Railroad Museum in Carson City, the state capital. This is a must-see spot filled with antique trains and cars from the late 1800s to early 1900s. It’s also family-friendly—kids will love learning about railroad history! Plus, it’s close to Lake Tahoe with amazing scenery. Highly recommended!
Fantasy ( — Google review
We had a blast here. We got to ride the train, explore the museum and because we were there late, got to watch them put up the trains for the night. The workers and volunteers are so knowledgeable and it seems like they truly enjoy what they do. My kids really enjoyed the gentlemen who was dressed in period clothing running the switch.
Dana M — Google review
This is an amazing self tour of the Navada railroad history. There is a lot of pictures and saved artifacts of the old railroad construction days. The old steam engines and cars on display are worth checking out. It was $10 a person.
Macroaquire — Google review
As usual, we had a perfect day here. It may be small but the heart of this railroad museum is felt within each and every individual who volunteers. They truly care about this place and restoring traincars/engines. Special thank you to Nancy for all the knowledge and an amazing train ride. And to Daniel for sharing his expertise with my husband during the cab ride. We'll be getting a membership and returning far more often!
Shelby H — Google review
Super cool place! Knowledgeable and friendly staff can answer any questions you have! Awesome old train cars fully restored and beautiful
Aaron S — Google review
Pretty good for what it was. We purchased train ride tickets while we were there. The train, which was absolutely amazing, only went around the museum three times really slowly. I kind of felt as though I was riding on an electric train set.

I enjoyed my visit and my experience was great. I learned many things and I left full of great thoughts. The entire staff is excellent, informative and friendly. This is a wonderful place to learn some local history. The restoritive work that they do is impressive. The gift shop is wonderful also. There are opportunities to volunteer too and as a volunteer you can learn good things.

The Nevada State Capitol Building is a must-see destination in Carson City. It's located in the West Side Historic District, where visitors can also explore the Kit Carson Trail and Brewery Arts Center. Outdoor enthusiasts will love the recreational activities available, from hiking and biking to water and winter sports. The city also hosts the lively Carson City Triathlon and an annual parade celebrating Nevada's statehood.
We had the opportunity/honor to visit the Nevada State Capitol in JUN_FY2024 and it was an amazing experience, a great opportunity to learn more about Nevada's history and legacy. We did a plant tour and for sure it's a remarkable building. Definitely, it's a place that deserves my respect. It was a privilege.
Robertson S — Google review
This was our first time every visiting a State Capitol building, and it was a rather enjoyable experience for us. The outside grounds are beautiful, and they're not even in full season yet nor done with some of the memorials, but really great space to sit outside and take in the beauty around ones self. Once inside the security desk attendant was helpful and glad we were there, pointed us in the right directions and gave a bit of info about what was where. Beautiful place. Informatory. Educational. Historical. Insightful. Anytime you visit something like this, you're going to learn things! The whole visit, with reading many facts in each room and outside as well, took maybe 45mins? It's free to visit the grounds and the first and second floors of the Capitol building. I think Nevada did a good job on this site, decades ago and into today.
Lea B — Google review
This is a small Capitol building compared to most. Makes sense due to the small population of the state and the fact that they are a part time legislature. It is a nice facility in a very clean community. This Capitol is clean and not in need of renovation but it is not ornate like many Capitols.
Chris E — Google review
Cool building I’ve wanted to check out since I moved here and checked out the different areas. Pretty busy for Nevada day, and I saw some different areas that I don’t think were open usually.
Hutch K — Google review
I love popping into the Capital Buildings of the states I visit. They are doing renovations on the outside and there is scaffolding covering the entire building. It isn't an eyesore as much of the building is hidden by trees. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. While the capital building is on the smaller and less opulent side compared to others, I was impressed by their interactive and thorough museum. There's no gift shop. Staff was pleasant and helpful.
Jeanette — Google review
We were visiting Carson City, and had been told the capital building could be walked through, even if for the architecture alone. Pretty neat, and we were visiting from NY! I don't think we could get in our state capital building, but the NV state capital was very inviting. There's a museum on site as well that mentions the history of how the state was founded, it's original peoples, along with display pieces as well.
Mike S — Google review
Not that famous as Las Vegas or Reno, Carson city, Nevada's capital left a very pleasant impression on us. It's a cute, very clean and well organized town. We've visited its Capitol which is set in a park on the main street. Went on a self tour and found it very informative because of a small museum on the second floor
Dejan B — Google review
The 1871 Neoclassical building has been the office for many of the Presidents men and First Ladies. It has been a vaulted time capsule which houses the Nevada Proclamation. Along the walls with Nevadas respectable virtues and state statutes. With hallways of spiritual shadows and hand carved statues. During the after hours the courtyard transcends into a elaborate light festival. A seasonally decorated walk through park called the Carson Complex. Perhaps the most unique feature about lighted decorations is that it brings out the best shadows among ordinary figures. Should you peek through the front of the State Building. You will find a shadowy statue in the corridor. A tribute to our nations original front person, before governors and secretaries. The Native American.

Nestled in the Sierra Nevada, Lake Tahoe is the largest alpine lake in North America and a beloved vacation spot. Its crystal-clear waters are surrounded by majestic mountains, offering a serene and rejuvenating experience for visitors. The area provides a plethora of activities such as kayaking, paddleboarding, and boating, allowing guests to explore the sparkling blue waters and hidden gems of the lake.
One of the finest and most beautiful place is Lake Tahoe. Went with huge expectations and extremely satisfied with the views and nature. Water is very neat and pure. Must visit place if you’re visiting California or Nevada. Lake is very beautiful and it is better if you’re visiting in the early hours so that you can able to visit all the points. Sunset is very beautiful and promising visiting place. Must try to do any water activities, I have done Jet Ski and it is excellent.

Absolutely beautiful and very relaxing. The scenarios are amazing with a variety of hiking trails and beaches in short driving distance. In addition, it’s very convenient to go shopping for food, eating out, grabbing a cup of coffee, and renting snow gear for skiing. Definitely worth the trip.

I think this is the most beautiful lake I have ever seen in my life!! I come from Illinois where you can maybe see two feet into the water, so this was a completely new experience for me to see this clear of a lake! Pictures absolutely don’t do justice to how beautiful this place is. You need to come check out this corner of Gods beautiful creation for yourself!

Wonderful and a huge lake at a height of approximately 6000 feet from sea level. Lot of trekking places around the lake. Boating and ferry services are available but due to lack of time, I could not make it.

After being sick and stuck in the house for 2 weeks, I was beyond ready to get outside. This leisurely 1.5 hour walking tour was a nice getaway. I was under the impression that there was a blue line delineating the way, but this has clearly been eradicated. From not being in the area, I found myself constantly looking up and down between the pamphlet directions and street signs. I still missed some marker stops. It would have been so much easier if there was an app to guide you in real time. Maybe even an integrated one with Google maps - just a suggestion. Anyways, it was a beautiful day and I appreciated learning about the area and seeing the architecture.

This was so cool. All the homes built in 1864 with a self guided tour. Google Kit Carson trail and walking audio tour. Made it even better

I personally really like to walk around here to see what small ships are open and it is usually not a busy area. I use to play Ingress, which is the precursor of Pokemon Go, where there is a lot of spots that is walking distance to play on.

Established in 1993, the Kit Carson Trail is designated by a painted BLUE LINE and the “Talking Houses” share their ninety-second narratives that provided insight and tales about the capital city and some of its more colorful personalities. You can listen to sound effects such as horse-drawn carriages, train whistles, and John Wayne’s voice at the Krebs-Peterson house where he made his last movie, “The Shootist,” in 1976. The route also passed the home of Orion Clemens, where his brother Samuel Clemens aka Mark Twain would stay when he was in town. The tour features 60 landmarks along the trail including the former U.S. Post Office, U.S. Mint, Governor’s Mansion, and the Carson Brewing Company, home of Tahoe Beer for more than 100 Years. For a nostalgic walk down the largest historic district in Nevada make tracks for the vivid BLUE LINE that will guide your way along the 2.5-mile path of Carson City’s legacy to discover the Wild West!

Asian restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Carson City, Nevada, The Basil Restaurant is a culinary gem that offers an authentic Thai dining experience. With its vibrant and tropical ambiance, this restaurant serves creative Thai cuisine made with fresh ingredients and exquisite flavors. The diverse menu features traditional Thai dishes with modern twists, reflecting the styles and flavors of its six owners.
We finally had the chance to visit The Basil, Creative Thai Cuisine, and I’m so glad we did! The food was absolutely delicious—authentic flavors, fresh ingredients, and beautifully prepared. Every dish we ordered was full of flavor, and judging by our empty plates, we clearly loved every bite 😋. I also got to meet my cousin’s wife and their little one here (though he wasn’t exactly thrilled about photos 😅). The restaurant was pretty busy during our visit, but the staff were still attentive and kind, and the food came out hot and flavorful.

Very similar feel compared to other Thai restaurants I enjoy. Ordered a spicy beef salad which met my expectations, but a bit smallish for the price- a common theme at almost every restaurant I visit. Service was polite. Food arrived promptly. Facility was very clean although a bit stale on the atmosphere. I will return

Absolutely loved this Thai restaurant! My favorite dish was the Thai beef salad, full of authentic flavors and beautifully presented. Every dish we tried was fresh and well-seasoned. The staff were exceptionally friendly and made us feel very welcome. An amazing experience from start to finish, highly recommended!

Delicious food, the Bangkok fried rice reminded us of the Thai fried rice we had in Thailand months back. Lots of flavor! The mango sticky rice was also very delicious, a bit on the pricier side, but worth every penny! The decor was very pretty as well. The staff were very friendly, even though we unknowingly got there 30min before closing, we did not feel rushed, plus we eat quickly normally anyways lol. Overall 10/10 would recommend eating here for some quality flavorful food! :)

Nestled in the heart of Carson City, Red's Old 395 Grill is a cherished dining destination that has been delighting locals and visitors alike for over two decades. Must go if you’re in Canson City!! Check my videos and photos, it’s a unique restaurant with an amazing decoration and wall paintings, so cool! 🚂🐎🦌🐻 Great atmosphere. Unbeatable prices with big portions of foods. Friendly and good service. Definitely will come back!
Carey — Google review
Disappointed with my meal at red's old 395 grill. I ordered the jiffy burger. I love peanut butter on my hamburgers. But this one failed to make the grade. The bun was stale. Even though it was toasted, you could still taste that stale quality. The bun was so dry that it fell apart while I was eating. It didn't smash down like a brioche bun normally does it actually broke apart because it was so dry. Additionally, my hamburger patty was way overcooked. I ordered it medium and it came to me over well. It was extremely dry. Did not add any juiciness to the burger. Since my burger bun fell apart while I was eating it, I had to use a knife and fork to finish it the hamburger. Patty was pretty tough. All the other components were delicious. The bacon well-cooked and tasty. The cheese, nice and creamy. The peanut butter and barbecue sauce absolutely delicious and the fried onions were fantastic. The lettuce and tomato nice and fresh. Everything went together well except for those two big pieces that just did not do it for me. I ordered my burger with the side of coleslaw. The coleslaw was good. It came in a little red corn bowl. Kind of like a taco salad but about 4 in in diameter. Interesting presentation. I liked it. Tasted good too. I liked how the coleslaw dressing soaked into the taco shell and kind of softened it a bit. Gave it a good flavor too. The restaurant vibe is really nice. I love the decorations and the log cab and feel to it. It's a really cool place to hang out. They have a nice indoor area and also a nice outdoor area.
Stewart S — Google review
I want to say I like this place but it just wasn't for me, it's 4 stars because of the staff. For the price you do get a good amount of food and it comes out hot and ready The style of the place is very unique and has an interesting aesthetic to it which is very appealing to a lot of people. I will say the seating can be tricky if you aren't taller or if you have kids in certain sections of the restaurant so make sure you get the spot you need. The waiter did an amazing job for us being patient and helping us out when one of our party couldn't eat some of the food.
Sean K — Google review
Service was excellent. The place was fun and packed full of really cool old carriages and Americana. The food was good and a solid portion for the price. Unfortunately, the ribs were on a bed of chilled fried onions and next to fries too cooled to eat. The shepherd's pie was unevenly heated through, with some hotter spots and other bites less warm. It was a great dish, especially with the flaky crust. It just had a poor execution by the kitchen. The server made it right with a quick warm-up. Not the best experience, but hopefully it was just an off day.

Reds 395 Grill – Carson City, Nevada What a fun place! We happened to stumble upon Reds 395 Grill, and it turned out to be quite a treat. The atmosphere is very cool—amazing décor and a definite wow ambience that makes it stand out. The food was good, and the portions are definitely generous, so come hungry! Service was friendly and attentive, adding to the overall great experience. It’s a lively and enjoyable spot to visit if you’re in Carson City. We’d happily return.

This was a fantastic restaurant, with excellent food. I ordered the brisket grilled cheese, and also got to try the shepard's pie, which one of my party members ordered. Both were quite good. The atmosphere was nice, and there was a bar and tvs with several different sports games on. The waiters and waitresses were very nice, and Andrew, our waiter, was quick and very respectful. We had a 30 minute wait, as we did not put in a reservation, but once we were seated we didn't have to wait long to order or receive our food. Prices were reasonable, totalling around $20 per person. I would definitely come back.

This cozy spot offers a variety of homestyle favorites, including pancakes and fresh fruit. Families will appreciate the kid-friendly atmosphere, with special menu items like Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse pancakes. The quality is 10/10! This place is a favorite spot of mine to eat! I have been gladly giving Jerry my money for years, and plan to keep doing so as long as I live here. Also Kenny is the coolest most awesome cook there! Love this place!

I really loved thud place. We came in on a fluke. They had a wait but hot us in pretty quickly. Our server was great. They added some stuff in our food we didn't want and fixed it immediately. As well as, when we asked for something it came out all at one time so they didn't have to go back and forth. I recommend this place for breakfast.
Keri C — Google review
Food was lacking flavor and was dissatisfied with the price and how little we enjoyed it. Pancakes lacked flavor as well. Coffee was great. Service was amazing.
Gabriela M — Google review
Great breakfast spot. The omelets and potatoes are my favorite. I do not reccomend their club, but everything else I've had is wonderful. The service is great and other than my club being non edible , everything else was great.
Raven R — Google review
Definitely one of the tastiest breakfast spots in Carson City but you do need to be aware that it is a CASH ONLY establishment. They do have an ATM but of course, there is a fee to use it. Seating is limited and so it really isn't a good option for a group of more than 4 people. That said, my wife and I always include the Cracker Box in our rotation of eateries we like to frequent and mainly because the food really is that good. Really tastes like good home cooking with big portions and with a nice old school diner style atmosphere. I personally love the enchilada omelette whenever it's available and my wife loves their linguica, scallion and cheese omelette but there's a host of other good dishes that we enjoy as well. My only reason for pulling back from a full 5 stars is because of the service. Most of the time, it's excellent but there have been more than a few occasions where it's been just okay. On our most recent visit, our waitress was very polite and nice but just not very attentive. We got seated quickly, got coffee fast but then, she was gone. After we got our order, she was just nowhere to be found. And, I would have been understanding of this if they were super busy like they typically are on a weekend but, this was a Tuesday morning and there were plenty of empty tables. That said, I wouldn't discourage you from dining here - just be aware there are times when the service is less than stellar.
Eddie — Google review
Headed there on a Saturday morning while visiting the area with my dad. We walked in and immediately fell in love with old diner ambiance. We got there just before the big rush, but the business didn't phase the staff. They kicked it in a higher gear like a well oiled machine. I ordered the Joe Moore and dad ordered Adam's Special. Personal opinion? This place should be featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives.
Jarrod L — Google review
Cute little diner with a great view of the mountains. Service was great. Servers are very attentive. Food had so much flavor. Very large portions, I was only able to finish half of my omelet. The potatoes are fresh with veggies. Orange juice is a must, get the huge size. Overall food is very fresh. Get there early. It gets packed.
Rocky A — Google review
My omelette came in a pool of uncooked egg. They remade it right away, but by then I had kind of lost my appetite! The potatoes and orange juice were great. My son’s pancakes were a little burned. Our server was very nice. With tip I paid $44 for 2 people. Overall did not meet my expectations and not likely to return.

Was looking for a good place to have breakfast on Good Friday. Not sure I could have chosen a better place than SQUEEZE IN for a few reasons... First of all, it's like the restaurant has 2 personalities... OUTSIDE: has a very nice clean patio like area with 3 or 4 tables. This area is elevated above the street level and faces east and the rising morning sun. INSIDE: is very colourful & kitchy with plenty of room and interesting decor. But, my focus here is on the food. As it should be... This place does things absolutely right when it comes to food. From stuffing my omelette packed full of fried mushrooms, crispy bacon, shredded American cheese, with a fresh pico as well as perfectly sliced & ripened avocado on top to the savoury mushroom sauce that could have been used as a dressing for my pan fried potatoes or a topping for the sourdough toast. I saw some other amazing looking items on the menu so it took me awhile to decide which is unusual for me when choosing a breakfast. The service here was also top notch and each of the staff members on shift was diligently taking care of business. The one drawback was a lack of coffee items. Otherwise, everything else was hard to beat as far as breakfast businesses go... Bottom Line: 9.4 out of 10

Loved our late breakfast here. Apreal was very friendly, super excited office t and great. The Juevos Montana was tasty and the menu has GF items clearly marked. Grapefruit Mimosa also note worthy. They don't fry their french fries and things in a fryer so there is no cross contamination!!

Food was excellent as always! The staff wasn't friendly and I didn't offer a coffee refill until I had almost finished my food and my partner didn't get one at all. The hostage wasn't welcoming and the servicer didn't welcome us. As poor as the service was, I would still eat here again as the food is excellent.

So glad we found this gem. Food was delicious and drinks were spot on. Our son loved writing his name on the wall. Dawn our server was the BEST! She made us feel welcome, and treated us like locals (not the tourists we were ). The decor was fun and unique as well. Everyone working there is truly amazing. Definitely will always make it a point to come here for good vibes, and delicious food.

Been to this place many times. Always a fun experience and great service Prices have really gone menu has changed and the food was not that good My breakfast seemed overcooked or old. The potatoes were leftovers. The bacon was hard and dried up, not much flavor, but the fruit cup looked like the fruit was old and rotting didn’t touch it. Good bloody Mary We’re not coming back. It’s too expensive for what you get.

Brought my family there for a Saturday brunch. Food was over priced and mediocre/bland. Service was also lackluster. The environment was eccentric, but not much to offer beyond that. Nearly $100 for a brunch for 4 (including 2 kids) left us feeling underwhelmed. Dirty silverware, inattentive wait staff, unseasoned food, & high prices compared to portion sizes ensure that we likely won't be going back any time soon.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sassafras in Carson City, NV, and I am compelled to share my delightful experience. The food was absolutely amazing, showcasing a mastery of flavors that left a lasting impression. As a Southern enthusiast, I was particularly excited about their thick bologna sandwich, which was smoked to perfection—each bite was a beautifully balanced experience of savory richness. Additionally, the fish served that evening was nothing short of sublime; it truly melted in my mouth with every delectable morsel. Furthermore, I would be remiss not to mention our waiter, who exemplified exceptional service. His attentiveness and recommendations greatly enhanced our dining experience, making us feel both welcomed and valued. In a town rich with culinary options, Sassafras stands out as a premier choice for anyone seeking a memorable meal. I highly recommend visiting this wonderful establishment for a truly remarkable dining experience. Recently visited on our way through the state. Service and atmosphere were amazing! Our waitress mama Coco was a delight and a pleasure to talk to. The food was delicious! Everything on the menu was very close to comfort food with just a little twist to spin things up in a good way! If we ever visit Carson city again Sasafrás is at the top of our list!!

This was my second visit to Sassafras and I definitely had the same experience. I was here 3 years ago and remembered so made a point to come back as I was back in the area. There is definitely a strong local following- employees were greeting regulars by name as they entered. The food is fantastic- I ordered a chicken sandwich not realizing it was a HOT sauce and our server quickly saw and had a new sandwich made for me. My friend ordered a fantastic salad. Definitely give this restaurant a try - it’s great! Our server was so friendly and helpful! We felt welcomed!

Sassafras is located in a great spot. With Shoe Tree Brewery and Carson Hot Springs all in the same parking lot, we call it doing the trifecta. I had the Okonomyaki. Extremely flavourful flank steak cooked mid rare served a top a pan-fried veggie pancake. The pancake was thick, crispy on the outside, and soft on the in. The Asian drizzle was sweet and savory, followed by spicy serano accents to cut through the richness. Delicious. Beer prices are high, but plenty to choose from. The service was excellent. We'll be back to try another delicious entree in the near future.

Absolutely loved my experience here! I ordered the burger, fresh garden salad, and churro dessert. The 1/2 pound burger was packed with fresh, organic ingredients that you could really taste in every bite—flavorful, juicy, and guilt-free. The menu is full of delicious, organic, and wholesome options that make it hard to choose just one. Big shoutout to my waitress, Lulu, for the amazing customer service—friendly, attentive, and made the visit even better. Can’t wait to come back!

I love this wonderful local place! Such good food and a nice place to eat, drink, celebrate and hang. Our waiter was really informed and organized but the demeanor and delivery was pretty overwhelming. I love a take charge attitude and some theatrics, but I say dial it back 20 percent. It would be perfect. I know a large group requires wrangling but making everything at our table known to the whole dining area is a bit much

First time here with my husband. Amazing staff and food. We are definitely pretty good at eating all on the plate but the burgers and fries hit the spot about half way through! Samantha, you were an amazing server. Recommended the drinks we DELICIOUS! Hoping to come back soon with more family!
