Zoo
Zoos & Aquariums
Non-profit organization
Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo is a long-established zoo featuring hundreds of animals predominantly from North and South America. Its indoor South American rainforest exhibit is particularly impressive, showcasing multiple species. The zoo's accessible design accommodates visitors with disabilities or sensory sensitivities. Despite its age of 99 years old, the grounds are well-maintained and adorned with picturesque flowers. A loop around the zoo takes approximately an hour to complete, making for an enjoyable outing for all.
It's a great zoo with an interesting bunch of animals and a wonderful atmosphere. The staff is dedicated to make the experience worthwhile for everyone especially kids. They have different programs throughout the week ; be sure to check their website before going. We started the day early so that we could explore all . Recommend doing that if possible. Enjoyed the birds of prey by Skyhunters (Teddy & Brian)and informative puppet show by Chris Rowland very much.

Such a great little zoo. I feel the size is perfect. The otters, spider monkeys and the red panda was super cool! $20 for adults and they have a carousel. You could do a picnic there. They do offer foods there too. We didn’t buy tickets ahead of time. No issues buying it there.

We had a fantastic time today at Connecticut's Beardsley zoo. We took our 2 year old grandson and he had a ball. Lots and lots of animals to see. It was not that crowded and we brought lunch and had picnic at the zoo. We also went for a nice Carousel Ride which was very pleasant. Plenty of parking and lots of staff around, this was a great day and I highly recommend this trip.

I brought my kiddos and had a great time there were so many cool lanterns to see. Some animatronic and some still. All the Colors were vibrant and we had many favs. Was able to easily park and view all displays with no over crowding. I wish there were small bites to eat, if there was we missed it.
Dani M — Google review
We had such a nice time visiting this zoo! It’s on the smaller side, but they have a descent variety of animals — enough to keep everyone interested without feeling overwhelming. You can see everything in about 60-90 minutes, which makes it perfect for little ones with shorter attention spans. If you’re looking for a relaxed day out where kids can see some favorite animals up close without huge crowds or tons of walking, this zoo is a great choice. Definitely worth a visit!

I went to the Glow Wild Lantern Festival. The lanterns were great, and the music playing throughout was calming. Go close to sunset maybe 6:00 so you can park close. It is kid friendly.

I have been to this place many times with my son. This time was during the Glow Lantern Festival they have been doing. What a vibrant, magical display. It was a wonderful experience with some animal encounters that really made this visit more exciting.

I visited the Beardsley Zoo with my younger brother and sister in law in October 12th 2025. At about 2:30 pm my insulin pump started beeping, my sugar was starting to drop. My brother stayed behind at one of the exhibits while my sister and law and I walked to the cafe to get a snack and continue our visit. As we entered from the chilly rain I saw an ice cream cooler, and headed straight for it to choose an ice cream to get my sugar back up. As I was trying to decide what cold treat I would choose one of the employees said it was way too cold for ice cream and suggested their fresh made cookies. It didn’t take much convincing, and I chose the M&M cookies, but when we went to pay(also $1.50 for 2 homemade cookies is amazing!!) we realized we had forgotten the wallet with my brother. My sister in law began walking towards the door to go get her wallet and come back to pay, and the woman who had suggested the cookies said not to worry about it, that I needed the cookies for my sugar and to enjoy the rest of my day. After eating some of the best cookies ever, my sugar still wasn’t cooperating. We made our way back to the cafe, with my brother this time. I ordered a soda and my brother wanted a pretzel, but they didn’t have any. The same woman who gave me the cookies offered to have the ovens turned back on and fresh pretzels made just for him, and she made sure to check in with me to make sure I was feeling alright. I never did get this amazing ladies name, but I hope she sees this review, and she knows that her kindness and compassion will stay with me for the rest of my life. Thank you for being such a wonderful person in a (sorta) scary situation.

Marina
Captain's Cove Seaport is a charming waterfront destination located near the expansive boardwalk of Captain's Cove Marina. It features a variety of fish fry restaurants, shops, and lively bars, offering casual meals and drinks for visitors to enjoy while exploring the 350-boat slips surrounding the complex. Throughout the year, live music and special events are hosted at this maritime location, making it a popular tourist attraction in Bridgeport.
It’s a casual eatery with great food and reasonable Menu that offers plenty from burgers, sandwiches, appetizers and Seafood including shellfish. Atmosphere is great with scenic views of Oceanfront. It’s a nice place for the family to spend a day outside with plenty of seating. Highly recommend.
Khalid A — Google review
I visited Captain’s Cove Seaport recently and honestly, I didn’t expect it to be this beautiful and relaxing. It’s not just a marina—it’s a full experience. The place has a warm, small-town coastal vibe with an amazing view of the boats docked along the harbor, people enjoying fresh seafood, and live music playing softly in the background. Walking along the wooden boardwalk feels like stepping into a postcard. The area is clean, well-maintained, and has that calming scent of the sea. It’s family-friendly, yet also perfect for a chill solo trip or even a romantic evening stroll. There are little souvenir shops, casual restaurants, and spots where you can just sit, breathe, and watch the boats. I went around sunset and the lighting over the water was just magical. I highly recommend timing your visit during the golden hour—it completely transforms the place. If you’re into photography, you’ll love it here. The only thing I found slightly disappointing was the price—some of the food and drinks felt a bit overpriced for what you get. But overall, the atmosphere and experience made up for it. What stood out most to me was how peaceful and safe the place felt, even with other visitors around. It’s the kind of hidden gem that makes you want to come back again. Don’t skip it if you’re anywhere near Fairfield

Quick visit on way home. Nice views. Order your food, receive a number and pick up your food. Typical fast food - seafood and land food as well.

I really enjoyed visiting Captain’s Cove Seaport! 🌊 It’s a beautiful waterfront spot with restaurants serving delicious American food, small local shops with handmade items, and a relaxing vibe. 🎶 The live music adds a fun touch, and the place is family-friendly—perfect for spending a nice day by the water.

Unfortunately, my experience at this restaurant was very disappointing. The food did not meet expectations—bland flavors, careless presentation, and dishes that arrived cold to the table. To make matters worse, the service was unfriendly and very slow, making the visit uncomfortable from start to finish. I understand every place can have a bad day, but in this case, everything fell short—food, service, and atmosphere. I cannot recommend it, and I believe there is a lot of work to be done to improve in all areas. Besides the food not meeting expectations, the service left a lot to be desired. In particular, the lady with glasses who attended our table was unfriendly and inattentive, which made the visit even more uncomfortable.

Stopped here for lunch driving from Newport to Philly on a Sunday. I think we got lucky and caught their last day of the season? Driving their from 95, we had our doubts, but great find. We enjoyed the burger and the fish & chips. Beautiful late summer day, enjoyed on their top deck in the shade.

This is a well kept secret, for those of you who do not know, you are missing out. They had "Eight to the Bar" last night which is one of my favorite bands. They had a lot of dancers come to the event. So there was lots of great dancing. The food is terrific. The temperature is perfect this time of year and the price points are reasonable. This is a fun venue for either a date going single or bringing the entire family.I highly recommended it. It is a treasured diamond in our community.

Adventure sports center
Nestled just outside the Discovery Museum and Planetarium in Bridgeport, Connecticut, The Adventure Park at the Discovery Museum is a sprawling 5-acre aerial forest park. With over 100 platforms interconnected by bridges and zip lines, it offers an exhilarating experience for families. Visitors can choose from 13 treetop trails and 180 challenges of varying difficulty levels, featuring ladders, bridges, and moving steps.
What a great hidden gem! I took a 13yr, 15yr, and 2 17yr boys. They enjoyed it. There were courses for every age and skill level. I recommend bringing or purchasing gloves. They were tired at the end. They challenged themselves, and I didn't have to hear "I'm bored". Ziplining for the win! I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they have a Planetarium in the Museum. They will be my next Discovery purchase if we don't revisit the Adventure Park first! Thank you, Groupon, for the suggestion! The only disappointment was the restroom situation. The Museum would not allow the Adventure Park patrons to use the facilities. The Adventure Park had port-a-potties and that's a HARD NO for me. It was a great experience overall.

My family and I absolutely loved the experience. My kids are 8 and 11 and they enjoy going from the basic course to the intermediate one with ease. Specially, it gave my 8 yo daughter more confidence in herself. It was a full workout for me and I only lasted 2 hours. We will definitely be going back. Also, the staff was very laid back, friendly and very well trained.

To be honest this is the first time I have ever had to write a review for anything . My son had his birthday party last night there and it was a nice experience . We did a small party and was 4 friends , my daughter and my husband was planning on climbing with them . My husband had hurt his foot earlier a day before and did not feel Comfortable climbing . When I explained this to the staff they were very nice and said to call and that they would be able to work something out for him to come back another time with my son . Not a big deal they said and enjoy the party ! We did and the kids had a nice time . I called and left a message today . When I received a call back was told in a very rude voice you were misinformed no refunds are ever issues that is our policy. She kept speaking over me when I told her that’s what I was told and to look at the website . At this point i I asked to speak to a Manager and she said they weren’t there . I then her her name as the way she was speaking to me was more than inappropriate and she hung up on me ! I have never experienced this type of customer service and definitely not after spending a few hundred dollars on a birthday party at a local establishment . I do hope I hear back from the owner or management and can edit this review but I was blown away at how this was handled.

My boyfriend and I went here one afternoon (we are in our 60's). This was something I've been wanting to do since I turned 50. We are in good health and moderately physically fit. We did 3 courses (2 green, 1 blue) which were medium difficulty and we were challenged and exhausted after 3 hours! At first I was nervous, but after I got the hang of it, it was fun. It's just as much mental as it is physical. It really builds confidence, teamwork and problem solving. Chris, the manager, is a hands-on guy and it is obvious that he loves his job. He was always available to talk to in between courses and was genuinely interested in making our experience a memorable one. Overall, we had a wonderful time! Thanks to all the staff!

Brought my 9 year old daughter and her friend for our first visit. The Adventure Park is extremely organized, patient with new climbers, safe and SO much fun. My daughter was nervous at first, but the instructors were so amazing and she gained confidence and didn't want to leave after 3 hours. We will definitely be back!

I recently took my daughter to adventure park for a birthday party, and we encountered some disappointing issues. While my daughter was excited to join in the fun, she struggled with the zip line, which made her feel a little scared but more uncomfortable because of the rude staff. Unfortunately, the staff member was not very helpful or reassuring. Instead of providing support, they scolded her and gave her an attitude for “not following instructions”, which only added to her anxiety. My daughter was so upset by the poor treatment from the staff that she asked the mother hosting the party to call me to pick her up. Not only did this mother pay for her to attend, but my daughter left feeling very disappointed, which is heartbreaking considering she was looking forward to this celebration. As a parent, I understand that working with kids can be challenging, but it's crucial for staff to be patient and encouraging, especially in delicate situations involving safety. Discouraging a nervous 9-year-old in mid-air by saying she isn’t listening when she was just looking for reassurance to do it correctly is not acceptable. Now if it were my son, I might have second-guessed the situation since he's hyper and sometimes doesn’t focus, but my daughter is typically independent and a good listener. Seeing her feel discouraged because the lack of support and patience of the staff was disheartening. I hope the staff can be more mindful in the future and approach situations with kindness and understanding. (You know who you are and I won’t use names) This experience impacted not just my daughter's enjoyment but the overall celebration for a friend. Do better, Adventure Park Staff…

What an amazing adventure park. 5 different courses of varying difficulty and all are so much fun. The elements are creative and challenging, but rewarding. Super impressed with the length and quality of the courses. My 15 year old daughter and I spent almost 4 hours here and completed all the courses. The best part was the team members though. Each person was kind, helpful, and genuine. We've been to about 15 different adventure parks around the US and this was by far our favorite.

The museum's ornate structure is a sight to behold and has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Visitors can explore circus-themed exhibitions and learn about P.T. Barnum's life through guided tours featuring original items and rich history.
If I could give more stars I would! What an amazing place with wonderful people! Closed for renovations but were just so very sweet to our daughter for her birthday! Adrienne, you are a beautifully kind soul and so appreciated!! We cannot wait until this museum opens and we will be there when it does!!! Thank you

A lesser-known jewel of Bridgeport, CT; yet, a must-see location. Only open 11-3 on Thursday & Friday. A sweet & knowledgeable Marion, the docent, will give you a first-class tour of the exhibits. Unfortunately, the main building suffered storm damage during their 200-year anniversary of P.T. Barnum's birthday in 2010. Yet, this is a quality museum featuring an important person of local CT history.

Absolutely wonderful. It is a guided tour through P.T. Barnum's life. Amazing original items and rich history. The actual museum is still under construction, but the woman who gave the tour made us feel like we weren't missing out. She was hilarious and very knowledgable. Not the best place to bring little ones that are easily bored or distracted, although there is a lovely coloring and play area for children if you need it! Can't wait to come back!!

We read the museum would be accepting visitors from 11 - 3 on certain days and decided to drop by. We are so glad that we did! An excellent and entertaining source of Bridgeport lore. Ms O' Keefe was an awesome tour guide. A++

The tour girl has so much knowledge and I had such an amazing time learning some of the real stories behind the Greatest showman movie.
Yaima L — Google review
I had a great time learning about Barnum. The tour guide is excellent! She is very knowledgeable and humorous. She answered all of our questions and kept us all engaged. The artifacts are interesting and it was nice to know the history behind everything. The museum itself is actually closed due to damage from a tornado a few years ago. The items on display are in a temporary location behind the museum, and only a small portion of their collection. I'd love to be able to visit again once the museum is restored to see the full collection.
Abby L — Google review
Fantastic! And also free to visit! The actual full museum is currently closed, but they had a wonderful staff that were very well informed and a few exhibits that were very interesting! Definitely recommend visiting, especially after watching The Greatest Showman. Not everything in the movie was accurate, but was interesting to see how most if it was! The museum is currently accepting donations for repairs due to the tornado, and every cent will be helpful to restore this historical and entertaining sensation!

The Housatonic Museum of Art, situated within the Housatonic Community College, boasts an impressive and diverse collection of art. Visitors can explore permanent and temporary exhibitions, including a sculpture garden. The museum showcases works from various periods and mediums, featuring pieces by significant artists. Its permanent collections encompass art from the 18th to 20th centuries, as well as ethnographic pieces from regions such as the Americas, Oceania, and Africa.
What an awesome idea make the whole college the museum. There is a separate room that holds some of the artwork. However, most of it is around the building. I am pretty sure I did not see everything, but what I saw was interesting and worth the trip.

The Housatonic Museum of Art is a fantastic resource both for college students and the entire community. In the few times I've visited, I've seen everything from photography and sculptures created by students to real Warhol and Picasso paintings. The location is easily accessible in downtown Bridgeport with plenty of parking in the garage and the train station just a few blocks away.
Sam W — Google review
Nice, small exhibit that's free to enter. Their website says you need to request a ticket in advance, but I was able to walk in. There's a lot more art on the upper floor, though you should be respectful to the students and staff while you're there. The location on Google Maps is misleading. On Sat, I could only enter from the Lafayette Blvd side. The museum is in Lafayette Hall.

Pizza restaurant
Brewport Brewing Co is a modern-industrial brewpub housed in a renovated old industrial building, offering craft beer, pizza, and salads in a spacious setting. The menu features gourmet pizzas like the Korean BBQ pulled pork and kimchi-topped 'The Barrett' or the white clam pizza with freshly-shucked bivalves. With beers on tap seven days a week, including options like the Old News Double IPA and South End Pale Ale, Brewport offers something for every beer enthusiast.
Brewport Brewing Company is a great venue to accommodate large parties. The menu consists of beer, pizza & salad - if you are looking for something else - don’t bother stopping here! The pizza is skinny and huge with a variety of toppings if you would like to design your own pizza. The salads are huge and shareable amongst the table. First come first serve. No reservations accepted.
Katie A — Google review
For years I've driven past Brewport and wondered what it was like, and today, we finally made it in! Cool industrial vibe with a simple menu of pizzas, salad, and drinks. Our server was super friendly and attentive, and we appreciated that she informed us the individual sized antipasto would be plenty for the four of us to share. Our pizzas arrived, and we were impressed at the thin, crispy crust with just the right amount of char. However, we all agreed that the sauce was pretty lacking in flavor, and we just really wanted more from it. They weren't bad pizzas by any means, but they could've been excellent had they just been more flavorful. The toppings definitely helped, but if I were to come back, I probably wouldn't order a standard cheese, or maybe I would add garlic on. Glad we finally checked it out and definitely a cool spot to hang out while in Bridgeport.

Got a large cheese pie half hot cherry peppers . To- go order on my way to ferry . Also bought a 6 pack Of the homemade brewed rootbeer . The place is awesome. Staff extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Bartender gave great suggestions The pizza is paper thin , crispy and with a slight char , cut New Haven style. You might get a paper cut from the crispy crust. Will go back as many times as possible. Please open one on the Port Jefferson side of the ferry. We have lousy Breweries and lousy pizza here . There’s even a large location available…pretty please?

We decided to go here before seeing a show at the Bijou theater downtown. It’s been a very long time since my last visit. We ordered a large pizza with sausage and mushroom. It had very good flavor, but it was also very strange looking. I’ve never seen this anywhere else and I would’ve remembered this from the last time I was there. The cheese was placed on the crust before the sauce and when the pizza came out it almost looked like there was no cheese on it. It had good flavor but there was no caramelization on the cheese.

I never write reviews - usually my friends handle that for us — but this experience at Brewport in Bridgeport, CT was so frustrating that I felt I had to share. Three of us stopped by around 7:30 p.m. after work to relax with a beer and some pizza. We ordered a white mozzarella pizza with buffalo chicken, but were brought a tomato pie with buffalo chicken instead. We politely told the server and asked for the right pizza. A few minutes later, another server brought back the same wrong pizza. Hungry and assuming they were offering it, we started eating. When the check came, we were shocked to see we were charged for two pizzas — plus extra garlic we never ordered. When we asked why, the server said, “because you ate it,” completely ignoring that it was their mistake. No accountability, just an offer to “bring the manager” to explain. We’ve been regulars here after Total Mortgage Arena events, but after this pushy, disappointing experience, we’re done. We’ll gladly drive a little farther to Two Roads instead. I’m also attaching the receipt so others can see exactly what happened.
Artur S — Google review
Pizza and beer selection is excellent. The space is huge and comfortable. (Although no stools at the bar because there was a concert at the amphitheater is weird) The 90 minute table rule is understandable, but what is quite annoying about it is they beat you over the head with it. There is a notice on the door, the hostess tells you about it as soon as you walk in, it’s on stickers on the tables at every single seating position, the waiter says it as soon as he/she greets you, then again when the food arrives. Two seconds after I paid the bill I again got reminded our time was up even though it was clear we were leaving. (Overall our server and the service was excellent, top notch really. Super quick with drink and beer refills. The kid was a pleasure. We joked about the 90 minute reminders and it’s clear they are instructed to say it over and over) We get it guys. 90 minutes.

The pizza is amazing. The crust is thin, cooked to perfection. We had the mashed potato pizza that has bits of bacon and a regular cheese pizza. Delicious. The atmosphere is urban/industrial style to make it look like a brewery.

Breakfast restaurant
The Tasty Yolk has garnered a strong reputation for its high-quality and delicious food, earning a spot on the list of the top 100 food trucks in the country. Chef Felitto's expertise brings a unique twist to classic egg sandwiches, which have left customers impressed. The clean environment and friendly staff add to the positive experience, despite the limited seating options. Customers rave about the exquisite breakfast burritos, sandwiches, and pancakes offered at this grab-and-go spot.
I live in Stamford, but was in the area, so a friend recommended I stop into tasty yolk for a quick breakfast. The banker which has two eggs spicy aïoli, and brisket was unbelievable. The brisket was so tender and flavorful and it was the perfect breakfast sandwich it hit the spot! Christina was such a sweetheart at the register and gave me a lot of great recommendations. She’s super knowledgeable and very friendly. She those the menu inside and out. I wanted a low sugar drink and they carry spindrifts so she recommended that as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our freshly made breakfast sandwiches and cucumber lemonade nestled in the front window counter-top-nook while listening to upbeat, club tunes. The egg was perfectly cooked with just the right amount of moisture and piles of crispy bacon. Driving through Connecticut this was a choice local spot for grabbing a quality meal.

The storefront offers so much more than the sandwiches. I'm making my way through the menu on a weekly (sometimes, twice! 🤫) My favorites so far is the Berry Tasty for breakfast and the steak and cheese for lunch. Quick and friendly service. Ordering online is so clutch! It tells you and estimated pickup time and then follows up when your order is ready.

A unique breakfast spot with satellite booths all over town. They have fantastic varied options. Sometimes the service is cold, probably due to the staff being busy. I would recommend to anyone, just be sure to ask for the eggs to be cooked to preference!

Absolutely phenomenal breakfast sandwiches. Ordered The Tasty and was pleasantly surprised by the portion size, with a delicious sandwich and the rest of our party enjoyed. This was further enhanced by the vibrancy of the establishment when we went, full of locals, all enjoying the space and surrounding area while grabbing a bite to eat. Only issue, was a bit of a long wait time, but an understandable one.

Breakfast is a must here!! Small indoor seating and outdoor seating. The potato bowl is filling, the sandwiches (i like a wrap) are amazing, and the pancakes are tasty! If you are here for lunch or dinner get the Nashville hot chicken sandwich!!! Perfect crunch, Juicy and not too hot (not pictured because it was too good).

Steak house
Restaurant
Joseph's Steakhouse, located on Fairfield Avenue in downtown Bridgeport, is a classic and elegant white-tablecloth steakhouse and bar. Since its establishment in 2000, this restaurant has garnered positive reviews from various magazines across America. Owned by Joseph Kustra, whose culinary expertise spans Croatia, France, and the United States, the menu boasts high-quality offerings such as stone-crab claws and USDA prime dry-aged beef with their signature steak sauce.
Food was amazing! Service was amazing (thank you Michael)! I would highly recommend the porterhouse, creamed spinach, Joseph’s special salad was out of this world and the pecan pie. I cannot believe I lived in Bridgeport for so many years and never tried this place. Absolutely worth every penny.

I made a reservation for eight at Joseph’s Steakhouse to celebrate my birthday, expecting a memorable evening, but unfortunately, it was far from that. While most of the food was decent, the mac and cheese lacked flavor. Our server, Paul, was inattentive and made several mistakes throughout the evening. I specifically ordered a French 75 and was instead brought a bottle of Prosecco with no explanation. He forgot my sister’s salad entirely, and she ended up being the last one served. He also failed to bring out the glass of Bonanza wine I requested to accompany my lamb chops—something I had asked for clearly and ahead of time. To top it all off, despite this being a birthday celebration (clearly noted on the reservation), I was not acknowledged, wished a happy birthday, or offered a simple gesture like a complimentary dessert or glass of champagne—something that even modest establishments usually provide. For the price paid, the overall experience fell embarrassingly short. To the management: I strongly urge you to revisit your customer service and training protocols. Attention to detail matters, especially on special occasions. Your team missed several basic service expectations, which poorly reflects your establishment. Please take this feedback seriously. No guest celebrating a special moment should leave feeling overlooked, disappointed, and frustrated. I would if I could leave a negative star rating for customer service and experience. I hope this helps future guests avoid the same experience, and I sincerely hope Joseph’s can rise to the standard it claims to uphold.

Underwhelming. Absolutely a disappointment. This is the first place we went to in Connecticut that we just really did not enjoy. It was a shame because this was an anniversary dinner, and was mentioned in the reservation and not one person said a thing. The server was there, did not do anything to enhance the meal or make us feel welcomed or celebrated. The food… so underseasoned on everything! I’m sorry but when you have to add salt and pepper and even then u need the steak sauce it’s not good. Dry age was not tasted at all. The bone in steak was presented whole and not offered to be sliced, and this place would benefit greatly from some maldon salt. The asparagus boring, the Mac was ok but nothing special, served cold butter for bread, and the crème brûlée was some of the worst we have had. So runny and sweet it was not good. The steak itself was just not the best quality and maybe I’m picky because I work in a steakhouse but I was very underwhelmed. The atmosphere was cool, like an old school New York steak house, but the energy from the staff was ehh.

We had an amazing time here! The food was so delicious and beyond. For the main course, we both had surf and turf and their special salad. After that, we had Both meat and lobster were delicious, fresh, and juicy. After we had pecan pie for the dessert - which we both tried for the first time and loved it. We loved the atmosphere, service, food, and wine selection. If you are a foodie - we recommend.

From drinks to dessert everything was excellent. Our steaks were perfectly cooked and very tasty. Our waiter, Paul, was very good. Would definitely return. Also, convenient parking.

Was told to check this place out when I’m down here covering AHL Providence Bruins road games and definitely glad I made it over for the total steal experience. Shoutout to my new friend and bartender Frank as he was amazing and entertaining.

Best streakhouse experience in Connecticut. Cozy, old world, white tablecloth atmosphere. Start with drinks and the thickcut candied bacon and add the seafood sampler. Get the porterhouse for two. Crusty outside, meat candy inside, sliced into sections and sizzling on the plate. Finish with coffee and cheesecake and you've had a true fine dining steakhouse experience.

Noodle shop
Mecha Noodle Bar offers a unique and stylish setting to enjoy a variety of Pan-Asian noodle dishes, including ramen and pho, along with cocktails. The restaurant is praised for its vibrant atmosphere, flavorful dishes, and creative cocktail program. Customers rave about the delicious Pho sizzle with added shrimp, red oil dumplings, and spiked bubble tea. The attentive service receives high praise as well, particularly in accommodating food allergies.
Since my college days, Mecha has been one of my all-time favorite spots in CT. You really can’t go wrong with any of their menu items. I recently stopped in to try some of their new dishes which I was very impressed by! Creative choices like the Japanese curry poutine and curry latksa were great, and I liked the new super pho sizzle with the beef on the side more than their typical phos. Without getting cooked more in the broth, the beef stayed rare and was flavorful with the chimichurri on top. Their spicy tan tan seasonal special is always a must for me - I don’t usually like spicy food but I’m always addicted to this one! Food always arrives to the table in a timely manner. They have a good system here! In my opinion, Fairfield is the best of the Mecha locations.

Amazing experience. Super friendly staff who asked about allergies before we ordered and anime playing on TV while serving the best ramen I've had in a long time. The spicy broth paired perfectly with melt in your mouth tendon and tripe. Great restaurant, great food

ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING EXPERIENCE at Mecha Fairfield! From the moment we walked in, the energy was incredible — warm, welcoming, and full of flavor (literally and emotionally 😂). Our server Jay V deserves a standing ovation! Not only did he check up on us constantly to make sure everything was perfect, but he also took the time to walk us through the menu like a true ramen connoisseur. The ramen? Out of this world. The broth hugged my soul, the noodles were perfection, and the vibes made me want to move in permanently. If you ever come here, ASK FOR JAY V — he’ll turn your meal into an unforgettable experience. No complaints, just pure satisfaction and joy! citrus IPA (another version of a blue moon ) is good forgot the name but it’s similar

This place seems more for the younger crowd. Arrived on a Monday around 2pm...6-8ppl(adults) total inside. Cannot hear our convo due to internal music to LOUD. Had few drinks which was tasty, but size of drink is deceiving due to the 4"sq ice cube. Had the general tso shrimp was slightly over cooked on top of sticky rice. The dish wasnt plentiful. And...The customer service was amazing.

The noodles are always great, the space is a little tight but it doesn’t take away from the heat service you get. I got the spicy beef ramen which always tastes great!

They were packed tonight and a line out the door for takeout but somehow got seated immediately. The parking situation here was much better than I expected. We had the sweet and sour spare ribs, crab hand roll and ground pork egg rolls as appetizers. Simply delicious. Then for cocktails we had the Japanese Gin and lemon with lavender bitters and a Sifu Lee (best cocktail on the menu). And for the main course we had the classic 24-hour ramen bowl which is amazing as-is but with an little Sriracha sauce it really comes to life. Would absolutely come to this part of Connecticut again for a great date night!!

This place was is incredible.Owed and managed by woman and all vegans. The food was incredible and the vibe of the place was very cozy. A lovely, homey, welcoming spot. Delicious vegetarian/ vegan food. Very unique and deserves another visit when I have time to check out the bookshop.

Delicious vegan dining in a very comforting, friendly, relaxing atmosphere. Order at the desk upon entry, choose a table, browse the adjacent bookstore with its comfortable, cozy seating & pick up at window when your order is ready. Celebrating 47 years, this feminist bookstore restaurant collective has evolved from pescatarian to vegetarian, and now 100% vegan. Ample portions. Menu varies based on seasonal local produce. Daily specials posted. Limited hours are why it has taken me years to enjoy the Bloodroot experience.

The food has been excellent every time I've been in the past few years. I put an average score for service because there is no table service, you pick up your food at the kitchen window. The staff have always been friendly. The tables are various old style wooden tables, very homey feel which I appreciate a lot. Highly recommended.

Everything is vegan and has such amazing flavor. I was pleasantly surprised when I tried the jerk tofu and seitan and it was actually spicy. I would recommend this place to anyone. They have a wide range of different flavored foods, something for everyone.

From even before you walk in, this place feels comfortable, and continues to feel as such long after. From the cheerful woven fabric (there's a loom in the space!), to the people working there, to the unflappable kitty lounging at the register, to of course its food, this place is excellent. NB: despite the old signs (and the current Google Maps category), the place is (wonderfully) entirely vegan, not merely vegetarian.

A really nice vegan place to eat in that whole area. The food is freshly cooked in front of you and is delicious. It’s more like a home made food than restaurant food. The owner were really friendly.
