Quite melancholic. Previous memories sacrificed for progress. Recollecting former photography endeavor dubbed 'Seasons at the Forks', from approximately 6 or 7 years ago. Regretfully, all was forfeited when my antiquated samsung laptop fell victim to theft, along with the SD cards and external hard drive it contained. (NOT FROM PARK) Appreciate the images, though I haven't yet curated the superior ones.
Wildlife abounds and everyone you see is behaving and just having a good time. The park host keeps it in tip top shape.

I use 2 come here when i young. All through life actually its been a draw 4 me. Its nostalgic almost therapeutic 4 me now. Its changed a lot. Its fee area now & has a host they added a frisbee golf course. Good trails 4 dog walking & the golf i guess.

It is so beautiful here with a lot of places off the trail to get to the river. The water is clear, slow, and shallow enough for kids to enjoy. The trail is well maintained.

Kinda sad. Old memories lost to progress. Remembering old photo project was working on. 'Seasons at the Forks'. That was 6 or 7 years ago. Lost it all when my old samsung laptop was stolen. Had all my SD cards and portable hard drive with it. (NOT FROM PARK) Enjoy pics, not posing the better ones yet.

My favorite river in Oregon. About 45 minutes from home in Grants Pass and every minute of the drive is gorgeous. Clear water and tons of little beaches to relax on.

So beautiful. Bathrooms and 9 holes for disc golf. Plenty of parking for free and closes at 8pm

Just stoped at the picnic area, no visited the park. The picnic area was full of homeless people and crepy people talking to themselves. Not a nice place to stop.

Cave Junction Jubilee Park, located in the heart of Cave Junction, is a multifunctional space that serves as both the Illinois Valley Visitors Center and the Oregon Caves Visitor Center. The park features a great playground, skate park, and dog walking area with ample parking. While homeless individuals may be present at times, they are generally not disruptive. The park offers a peaceful atmosphere and occasionally hosts concerts and festivals. Families can enjoy the playground while kids can have fun at the skate park.
A very nice little park. On Wednesdays they do have a food kitchen if you need food
John A — Google review
It’s a decent park where I feel safe to bring my son despite there being several homeless people who hang out there all the time. I remember a few years ago finding needles in the playground school bus structure but it seems to have been cleaned up. Also there is now a water park newly installed with some pretty neat features and a nice way to cool down in the summer that the kids seem to love. It’s nice that there are several benches, most of which are located in the shade.
Robert R — Google review
It's great that the skate park is here, but it does need improvements and it does need additional add-ons to make it more fun and functional. This winter I'll be working on a spring plan for the skate park for improvements and will bring it to the city council.
Seth S — Google review
Great community and awesome park but the restrooms need soap among other additions
Dustin S — Google review
Very nice, sitting under a cool shade tree listening to a radio with my Tank Girl my dog. Pleasant. Cool cushy green grass to sit on, on a hot summer morning. Lovely
EdreAnna B — Google review
For how small the town is, it was nice small skate park. Seems like you have plenty of flat ground before getting into your next transition. Great for beginners that need to learn how to drop I to a quarter pipe and people that like flat ground. The worst part was the park it self seemed to be where the homeless of the town slept.
Julie H — Google review
The tough trucks during the holiday weekend are fabulous, such goofy fun. Great family entertainment.♥️
June R — Google review
Except for the tweekers, it's a nice park. Just dont Go there after dark, and stay away from the restrooms after hours, and the stage area, and definitely dont let your kids play in the playground area, they find used needles there so, ...yes, be cautious. Sadly.

Oregon Caves National Monument & Preserve is a fascinating destination for those interested in geology and outdoor exploration. The caves are composed of intricate marble formations, which create huge underground caverns that can be explored through guided tours. The tour lasts about an hour and a half, during which visitors can witness unique calcite formations and learn from knowledgeable guides. It's important to bring warm clothing during the tour as the temperature inside the cave is around 44 degrees Fahrenheit.
Such an amazing experience. Specially in the heat of the summer. I went in with just a t-shirt. It felt amazing. I do recommend a long sleeve shirt. But a sweeter or jacket is not necessary. You will get warm just moving through the cave. Me and my queen went with no kids. Nice get away. We will definitely be back with all 4 of the regrets. Also made our way up above the tour and found the cave with a sign in sheet. I suggest having a flash light for that ine. Or phone light. Its about 12' in and takes a right down to the container that has the sign sheet. See the photos.

This is an awesome find and I highly recommend going. You'll probably won't see anything like it in your life and it's a very humbling experience to go through, I'm very grateful it's even a tour, and the kids liked it also! It was a mile hike underground but they did awesome and it wasn't really too cold like we expected
Levi W — Google review
We have a great time here. The cave tour is really cool and worth the money. The guide for our tour was friendly, knowledgeable and did a great job. The tour group was small enough that everyone could easily see and hear the guide. The tour is 90 minutes and has a lot of walking on uneven surfaces and up quite a few stairs. This is not for small children or anyone with walking difficulties. The different formations and features are awesome to see up close. I would recommend an appointment but they also save quite a few spots for same day walk in. We will definitely go back some time.
Jeremy — Google review
Absolutely amazing experience! The caves are surreal with twisting marble formations, hidden chambers, and fascinating geology. The park rangers were incredibly knowledgeable and brought the whole underground journey to life with their passion and storytelling. The drive to the monument is stunning, winding through lush forested hills. It’s a bit of a trek to get there, but 100% worth it even if you're coming from hours away. Pro tip: Arrive early! The visitor center opens at 8:30 AM, but you’ll want to be there by 7:45 AM to get in line for tour tickets. Tours are limited and often sell out fast, especially in summer. If you’re in southern Oregon, don’t skip this. It’s a true hidden gem and a perfect mix of nature, science, and awe.
Justin W — Google review
Aug 2025 My 3rd time here 1st time for my wife. I told her it was a nice level walk! I guess my memory sucks (it had been 25 years since the last tour). There are plenty of stairs and steps! She still loved the tour, and still loves me though. Awesome cave. Our guide showed us a device for recording bats flying through. Therefore the Bat Phone really does exist! The cool colors in some of the photos are a trick the phone did. There is a combinations of LED and incandescent lights that plays hell with the white balance. Actual colors are cave gray as in the other images.
Dan C — Google review
We had the best time on our guided tour through the caves. Our tour guide was very pleasant and gave usany fun facts about the caves. The drive up to the caves is windy but not too long. Make sure to pack a sweater as the caves are very cold even though it was 90° outside of them.
Tiffany G — Google review
One of the best cave tours I’ve done in a long time. The park Rangers were very knowledgeable and the hike was really fun. You do walk up a lot of steps and you have to duck under some rock formations, but it’s a really great experience.

me and my partner decided to stop here on a whim after our trip to another nearby animal sanctuary. and wow we were blown away, the staff here was knowledgeable- and answered any questions we had on the cats. and the animals all looked super healthy and well cared for. this was honestly the highlight of our trip.
Rebecca D — Google review
This was a fantastic experience! Super informative, the cats were all very active and the tour guides were very fun, knowledgeable and you knew they loved their work. Also great because you can jump in and out of the tours at any time. We stop at most attractions we see on the road and this was a 10/10 for us. Our boys are 6 and 4. They both enjoyed it ,too!
Michelle S — Google review
Remarkable and one of a kind place. Staff are friendly and respectful. Staff are knowledgeable and admission comes with a free guided tour! As you are guided, they throw treats and the animals usually become more active and you can see them feet away from you and its crazy. Some of these animals only exist in captivity now or are severely endangered. Come see them and support! Gift shop is also awesome and this place is super kid friendly for the family!
Louis V — Google review
Didn’t realize there are tours- there was a note on website about getting to park a few hours before close and the tour is the reason why. The tour was great taking you through the park providing information and taking any questions on each cat that is on exhibit. By taking the tour you should be able to view each animal up and walking because they are provided food. Without the tour most cats would be sleeping in their favorite shade spot. No added cost for tour. My only concern is the larger cats may not have the amount of room a zoo would provide. All the animals appear to be healthy. Plenty of shade and water misters provided for both animal and tourist. Plenty of parking and a large gift shop.
Paul P — Google review
Decided to visit Cat world. Staff was very friendly. Very clean. Cats looked healthy and had plenty of room. Well maintained grounds. Small gift shop. We did self guided tours. Also available is tours with no extra cost. Tour length is 1.5 hours. Definitely would recommend if you are in the area. Not a bad price. Great for kids.

The cozy accommodations at the charming seasonal hotel, nestled in the beautiful Oregon Caves, offer warm and inviting rooms with picturesque mountain vistas. The staff provides exceptional service, and the historic Chateau impresses with its age and preservation of original features. As new owners are set to take over after this season, it is hoped that they will maintain much of the old-world charm while making essential updates to modern facilities such as plumbing and heating systems.
On our last visit there over 10 years ago, we ended up staying at the Chateau. I got a kick out of our son asking why there was no tv in the room. Dinner was great, I chose the Buffalo, and my wife went with the salmon. Both were good, and while there really isn't any other hotel, motel, or restaurant anywhere close by, we were on vacation and splurged. On our Cave Tour the next day, because one of the guides made a joke regarding our vehicle (Search & Rescue all over it). They took my wife and son up front and asked me to take the rear to make sure nobody got lost. This was just perfect for me, as I video taped and took pictures without anyone bothering me. The guides were absolutely great fun, and everyone at the Chateau treated us to a good time while we were there. I really like the remote area and the story of President Theodore Roosevelt establishing the Oregon Caves National Monument in 1909 to protect the caves from vandalism. After living in many different States and lots of time passed, we find it comforting the we ended up living within driving range of the Caves now. We will treasure our visit and upcoming visits, as there are many hiking trails around the mountain too.

We heard a rumor that the Chateau would be shutting down for a couple of years for needed renovations and decided to visit before it closed. We booked with other friends and made reservations for dinner. What a pleasant evening. The service was over the top. Even made a fire in the fireplace for us. We entertained ourselves (and probably everyone else in the lobby) playing Pictionary. It was great to be unchained from technology for the weekend. I was told the current leaseholder for the Chateau will not run the hotel when it reopens in two years, it will be taken over by a corporation. I hope the new company will keep up the exemplary customer service. On a slightly negative note...the mattresses were horrible, and the couple in the room next door never turned their light out, so light leaked out into our room. My husband and I kept falling into the center of the mattress. The room was very cold and under the blankets I was very warm. I could not get the temperature just right. Slept horrible, but the whole experience was amazing.
S G — Google review
It is being renovated but is still a cool building.
Wyatt P — Google review
It's truly a unique place. It's kind of like an old hotel sitting in a really isolated, but beautiful place. Our room wasn't what we really needed (very few power outlets, no AC, limited space in bathroom, creaky floors, and a queen bed...needed a king). The food in the restaurant was pretty good, and the waitresses were attentive. The evening "entertainment" was a local poet...I'd probably have to give him 1 star. It's not an inexpensive place, but I could see how it's charm could win you over.
Louis D — Google review
Like taking a step back in time, walking into this beautiful historic hotel is an absolute treat. We learned many people come to visit the Chateau without ever taking the few extra steps to tour the caves next door. We can understand why, as everything is so beautiful and the people so friendly at this property. Be forewarned - this property is closing for 2 years at the end of September 2018. We can only hope and pray that the renovations don't take away any of the historic charm this property has to offer. We can't wait to go back!
Chris — Google review
The staff was amazing! The Chateau is very old and historic. We love how they've kept so much original over the years. New owners are coming in at the end of this season and we really hope they keep most of the old charm while making the necessary upgrades to things like plumbing and heat.
Kristen S — Google review
Our main purpose in visiting the Oregon caves monument was primarily to visit the caves themselves, however we did visit the chateau while we were there. The chateau is definitely a historic landmark with a lot of classic charm. The building was old, but quite well updated in general and very cozy. The in house restaurant was classy and offered a great view looking down the gorge next to the chateau. There was a coffee shop and a gift shop there as well. The main room was quite picturesque and enchanting. There was a giant wood fireplace that was surrounded by comfortable seating. It would be a perfect seeing for a winter escape sitting by the fire reading a book curled up checking out the view as the snow feel outside.
Luke C — Google review
This is a neat place to stay, and way better than driving back down that road in the dark! The restaurant was good (a bit expensive) and our only complaint was the paper thin walls in the top-floor cheap rooms. We opened the window and let the sound of the waterfall drown out the noise. Overall lovely and very fun experience!

Mexican restaurant
Carlos Restaurante has become a popular pit stop on HWY 199, offering delicious Mexican cuisine. Customers have noticed an improvement in the food lately, suggesting a change of chefs or the return of someone's skilled Grandma. The rice and beans, as well as the carnitas and al pastor dishes, are bursting with flavor. The portions are generous, easily providing two meals for the price. Additionally, prices at Carlos Restaurante are quite reasonable compared to other establishments these days.
Great food. Nice atmosphere and really good service!
Yasmin R — Google review
Food was okay, salsa needs to be a little bit more spicier. Shrimp cocktail was tasteless. Service was okay in the atmosphere. Was good. Just your typical gringo Oregon Mexican food.
Joe M — Google review
Good food. This is our stop often on our way back from Grant's Pass or Medford
Tracie B — Google review
Tame Mexican cuisine but with a distinct lack of cheese on some dishes. Also not super flavorful. However it's not bad food and my family members enjoyed most of their dishes. They refill your complimentary chips and salsa as well.
Yash P — Google review
Overall would have given a 3, servers were nice but slow overall, the food was Americanized Mexican, large portions favoring quantity over quality. 1 star because 2 of the people in our group ended up with mild food poisoning, both ordered taco salads.
Ira F — Google review
A really good location right on the highway in Cave Junction. They have plenty of parking. It is nice inside. They have a vegetarian section on their menu. I had the Cactus Burrito and my wife one with zucchini and other vegetables. They were short staffed when we were there.

This place was so so busy when I went. I still got great customer service but was unable to sit on the patio like I hoped. Next time! Wild River Brewing & Pizza Co is a laid-back brewery and eatery that serves a variety of small-batch beers alongside handcrafted dishes, with a focus on their delectable pizzas. Visitors rave about the vegan pizza options, praising the customizable toppings and the use of Daiya cheese. The establishment's commitment to using fresh ingredients, such as avocados, has garnered high praise from loyal patrons.
Great buffet .Very good salad. Very good except for the chicken bites ,my friend said those were really dry.came in a group of 13 for the buffet. Employees did a great job of getting more pizza ready quickly. Definitely worth stopping in.

Not really impressed and was expecting more after reading all the rave reviews. After ordering we weren’t told about silverware, paper plates or napkins. The person who waited on us acted like she had something better to do. We had a Stromboli and a Blue Moon pizza. The pizza was okay except for the crazy amount of onions on it. That’s all we tasted until I scooped most of them off. And we love onions. The Stromboli was okay. For the price of these items I think it should have been better than just okay. Local beer was good.
Yorkiemom4052 — Google review
We stopped in to try the place, but we had to order to go and didn't really eat there to check out the establishment better. I wasn't expecting such a thin crust or thar it wasn't cut in the traditional way we expected. It's cut in little bite size pizzas, and the Pizza was okay, tasted good, just different than what we are normally used to having such a thin crust. Looks like they do their own craft beer making there, but we didn't get to taste any as we were on the road as soon as pizza was ready. Maybe next time we'll ask if the offer a thicker crust?
Teresa E — Google review
This used to be a great stop on the way back from the coast, but now they have Ashland prices and tiny portions. Not a repeatable experience. Next time I'll stop at Taylor's sausage (the beer is better there) or just wait till I get to Grants Pass. It's too bad. They got greedy! Never again!

Unpretentious, delicious, memorable. Whole family agreed on 5 star rating. Possibly best white sauce ever. (We had the Blue Moon pizza. And loaded fries- so good!)

After a 9 hour drive, this place was PERFECT! I feel super fortunate that I found this gem within walking distance of our vacation rental. We order wings, a half margherita and half pesto primavera. Cider, beer, and soda. $60 well spent with no complaints. Fresh basil and tomatoes 🤌 loaded with mushrooms 🤌 juicy wings 🤌 and ice cold beer, cider, and house-made root beer 🍻 I am so grateful I found a place to relax while my child was welcomed to be a child with other kids in the restaurant, running back and forth playing the little arcade games while I could enjoy listening wonderful live music. I also really liked the large picnic table style seating; it forces you to be welcoming of the company of others and offers the opportunity to have some great conversations with the locals. My son loved it so much, he's decided it's gonna be our go-to dinner place this week while in town and I don't see any reason to argue with him. Thanks for the experience and we'll see ya again tonight!

So my wife has been coming to this location since she was a kid and now as a couple we come to this particular Wild River Pizza because they are the 1st to open and they are the best. Their ingredients are fresh (especially Avocados), their staff has always been fast, friendly and hospitable. Now there are other locations for Wild River Pizza, but honestly, those locations have a lot to learn from this place to be at their level of quality and freshness. We both have never had a bad experience here but sadly, the other locations we do have stories to tell.

Taylor's Sausage Country Store in Cave Junction is a popular stop for travelers looking to try something different. The store offers a wide variety of deli meats, meat snacks, and country store items, as well as hot food that can be enjoyed on-site or taken away. Visitors recommend trying the hot dogs, French fries, and potato salad (with olives), and also praise the local honey available in different flavors.
If you're looking for authentic tasting sausage, then this is the spot for you. When I pass through Cave Junction I stock up on British bangers, Cajun andouilles sausage and more. Making Bangers and mashed that tastes like right out of a London pub is easy with these.

This is a Cave Junction delicacy with outstanding food. I love their Taylor Dogs and other variations such as the Cheddar dog. But this visit I decided to order the French Dip sandwich and it was only ok but maybe it’s because I just don’t like French Dip sandwiches because I never had one I liked before. My wife got the ribs and they were fantastic and the fries were out of this world crunchy and delicious!! A little disappointed by the kids Mac and cheese as it seemed like Kraft out of a box but I guess that’s to be expected for kids meals. My son loved it anyway! And during the lunch rush we waited nearly 30 minutes for our order which was a bit of a long wait but it was worth it. The atmosphere of the country store was awesome and we even got some gifts to bring back home with us. Their house made cookies were excellent too and only $1.50 each!!!

We stumbled upon Taylor's Sausage Country Store and were absolutely blown away. The breakfast was fantastic, delicious, hearty, and incredibly affordable. It's especially great if you're feeding a large group. You won’t leave hungry. But let’s talk about the real showstopper: the jerky. We spent nearly $100 just on jerky alone, and it was worth every penny. The variety and flavor are unmatched. Everything from the meats to the fish was top-tier. You can tell this place takes serious pride in what they offer. If you’re passing through the area, this is an absolute must-stop. Stock up, eat well, and enjoy one of the best country store experiences around.

Stopped in for a quick lunch after exploring the cave, before heading north. The line moved quickly, but there was a wait for your food. Really appreciated the convenience store selection of beverages as we were on the road and could easily take them to go, post lunch. Ordered the polish and cheese dog, they didn’t come out very hot, preferred the cheese dog. My partner ordered the French dip lunch basket and enjoyed it. The au jus was delicious. The fresh cookies were soft and affordable. We’d recommend and return.

Absolutely the best stop on our way to the coast! We bought lots of Jerky (you can sample first), a seasoned roast, honey, & BBQ shredded beef sandwich for lunch. All employees are super helpful & attentive & it was super busy. THE best prices I've seen in a long time! Fun family spot to stop. They also ship their meats & cheeses to you if you want! We can't wait to go back.

We have always stopped here for the last 20 years going to the coast and sometimes on the weekends just for a drive from the Rogue Valley just to grab some sausages and have a quick lunch. Stopped in when they were standing room only this July weekend and they had more than enough staff on hand to make it a quick experience and this time we tried their sandwiches, AMAZING for under $10!
Dan B — Google review
Great meats available to buy in their store. Pappy T’s is their pub and the food is great with a good selection of beers and ales. We ate there twice and enjoyed our food both times. The waitress was friendly and we got great service. Taylor’s makes a great selection of sausage and the best ground beef I have ever had.
Gale S — Google review
We mostly stopped by Taylor’s for breakfast but didn’t make it in time. I got a bowl of mashed potatoes with gravy, the potatoes had no flavor whatsoever and the gravy was like water not thick plus lacking flavor as well. My wife had a sandwich with soup, the sandwich was decent but the soup like my mash potatoes and gravy lacked flavor. Minus the actual food part the other reason for stopping what for the Meat sticks/Jerky they provided. I got 1/2 pound of the Dry Cowboy Rub, 1/4 pound of the Dry Pepper Rub Jerky, my wife got the Trail Blazer Jerky which all are amazing. We should have got a few pounds of what we got, the best things you are able to try everything if you wish to find the one that is your favorite. We will definitely be stopping by again to get more of that Jerky in the future, as well get the menu another try. The Meatloaf and ribs seemed to be the most popular items. I do recommend stopping by for a quick bite or to grab some snacks you can’t go wrong with a great quality jerky on the road.

Was traveling through the area and stopped for breakfast. It was excellent. We had the two egg breakfast with home fries, sourdough toast and home made corned beef hash. It did not disappoint! Also had the combination omelet with hash browns and pancakes. The portions were huge. As if we hadn’t ordered enough potatoes, 😂 we decided not to pass up the homemade chips. Everything was fresh and delicious. The service staff were so friendly, frequently checking on you and refilling your coffee to keep it hot. They worked so hard and were smiling the whole time! The place was clean, including the bathrooms. It was a great experience!

Great place for breakfast in Cave Junction, Oregon. The breakfast menu is good. We have eaten there every time we are here to see family. I have had waffles, corn beef hash, and the combos.
