Italian restaurant
Capri By Mayamex Restaurant is a long-standing Italian steakhouse that also offers seafood, pasta, pizzas, and an extensive wine list. The restaurant is housed in a one-story, windowless building resembling a medieval fort and has been serving hearty Italian-American fare since 1958. The menu features tasty pastas, salads, meat dishes, and fish dishes with generous portions. Guests have praised the excellent service and cozy ambiance of the restaurant.
Excellent Service from Erick Erick took care of us today, and his service was absolutely outstanding! He was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. His positive attitude and professionalism truly made our dining experience special. Thank you, Erick, for your excellent service — we’ll definitely be coming back! 👏✨

I had the linguine with clams. It was delicious! My only suggestion would be to have some of the clams not in the shells. I always expect to deshell several, but not all. The wait staff was friendly, pleasant, and attentive. It had a mom & pop restaurant feel. Also a thank you to the staff member who walked me to my car since it was dark when I left.

White linen table clothes illustrated to high quality of service & food in a surprising location of South Homested. A full parking lot was a good sign for an Esrly Bird menu to 6:30pm. We had eggplant parm which was big enough for 2 and the chicken parm which wrtr very well prepared.

If you even edible “Italian” food, just go up the road to Olive Garden. This place truly sucked. You enter the building and it’s extremely dark. You’re in a large dining room with out of date seating. Our waitress was rude and not enthusiastic in any way. I got the shrimp scampi and it was the worst $26 I’ve spent while being down here. The noodles tasted super watery like they had been left in a pot all day. The shrimp had no flavor. There was hardly any sauce in the dish. Which is a shame because I was hoping to dip my rock hard garlic roll that was purchased from Walmart in the sauce. The caesar salad also was bad. Super wilted and didn’t even have a caesar dressing taste. I paid $120 for a group of five of us tonight and it should’ve been about $20. The local Fazoli’s at home is better than this garbage on a plate.

Excellent service, awesome waiter. Well light cozy restaurant. The portions are huge like any Italian joint. Not the best clams casino but Ive also had worse. The Shrimp Dia Frivolo* sp was more spice then I could handle so I loaded it up with cheese the favor was great just caught my a little. The loaded potato soup didn’t disappoint, their house made blue cheese was also super delish. Unfortunately we were sooooo stuff we had to leave with out dessert.

5/28/21 Wife and I went back to Capri and I had Sausage, meatballs and peppers over spaghetti while wife once again went eith chicken cordone blue. This is by far the best Italian food I've ever eaten, hands down. Original review below. I Would go back in a second. Meals were excellent. Fettuccine with shrimp and Chicken Cordone Blue, servings were good sized. The rolls, salads and sides were great. Will recommend to my friends.

Best place in town. Walking threw dooor you realize every body knows who everyone is and they treat you, who they don't know, the same. The people, the food and most the parking lot. With an older lady hitting on me at the entry way and seeing the waiter bring a forgotten card to some customers. This place has all the feel of home with service that gives you a smile and feelings of being appreciated. Our waiter was so awesome he was the first server on our vacation to ask if we needed drinks as soon as we sat down. Confidently I would say that I have never had better Italian anywhere in the lower 48 states.
CREED'S C — Google review
Very nice food, but struggled with service. The waitress we had was overwhelmed so it took her 40 minutes to get us drinks and take the food ordered. We had several tables lap us, always an indicator that things aren't so great. My first glass came with a lipstick-ladened rim. Requested salad dressing on the side. It was piled on top and drowned the vegetables. Seafood fra Diablo was nicely prepared and ample. So we're pizzas. Plenty of leftovers.

Mexican restaurant
Restaurant
Rosita's Mexican Restaurant offers homestyle Mexican cuisine for dine-in or takeout, with breakfast available all day. The restaurant is adorned with vibrant murals on the outside, creating a sense of community and artistry. The care put into their Mexican basics sets this place apart, as recommended by locals and visitors alike.
My 2nd time coming here. Food is delicious, atmosphere is chilling with music. I highly recommend this place to anyone. Service is really good and the ladies are really nice. I had Bistec A la Mexicana and my husband had The Fajita dish.
Zuleika S — Google review
Was introduced to this restaurant 1/2 a lifetime ago when I would dive the Keys and we would come here with our dive mentors. Was in the neighborhood now and in the mood for Mexican; glad I was able to jog my memory with help of google! Food was great then and still is. 🤤 Portions plentiful, everything was flavorful, seasoned well (even the tortillas) and service by the young lady was prompt and friendly. My husband‘s first time here and he loved it! Will come back again when in area. Happy and bellies full. 🥰

It's rare to find a place where you can taste the passion in every bite, but this restaurant does exactly that. A beautiful blend of authentic Mexican flavors, friendly service, and true family pride. heartwarming If you're craving Mexican food - this is the spot.
Neha B — Google review
We were on our way to Robert is Here and we wanted to get some authentic Mexican food. We looked up a restaurant near and unfortunately was closed. So we went to the next available one which was Rosita’s. Best decision we made. The atmosphere was very welcoming and you immediately heard classic Spanish music. Afterwards we got some menus and looked at many options. We mainly got tacos and menudo. Simply delicious! If you want great authentic Mexican food, this restaurant is a must!

Great food and great service! There are many authentic dishes to choose from at good prices. The inside and outside of the building are very pretty and there is fun music playing.
Benjamin — Google review
First of all, I was shocked with how expensive this place was for a Mexican place. But then when I actually ate the food, it didn't matter. Because the food was top-notch. This is true authentic Mexican food. Extremely fresh, very delicious, and of course it's all the way in Florida City You get what you pay for though, this is not a Tex-Mex Restaurant this is an authentic Mexican restaurant. I had the enchiladas which were $15. Enchiladas rojos. Two big enchiladas with Mexican yellow rice and pinto beans. Superb ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The service was very good too

I had a wonderful experience at **Rosita’s Restaurante** in Florida City! The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Every dish we tried had that authentic homemade taste that’s hard to find. What really stood out, though, was the excellent service from Rosi. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. Her warm hospitality added so much to the overall experience. You can tell she truly cares about her customers and takes pride in what she does. If you’re in the area and looking for great food with even better service, Rosita’s Restaurante is a must-visit. Highly recommended. 🩷

I have visited Rosita’s Restaurant several times and never left a review. But it’s about time. They deserve it. I love this place. The atmosphere is simple, not fancy, and it’s very clean. The food is very good and waitress Stephanie is super nice. I live about two minutes south of Broward County, and don’t travel often to Florida City, but when I do, I take advantage of the opportunity to enjoy genuine Mexican food and Rosita’s is the real deal.

American restaurant
Nestled within the charming farmers' market on the outskirts of town, Farmer's Market Restaurant is a delightful spot for those craving classic American comfort food. This cozy eatery opens its doors bright and early at 5:30 am, making it a perfect destination for hearty breakfasts that include fluffy pancakes and flavorful omelets served with home fries or grits. Run by a family of anglers, the restaurant prides itself on offering fresh seafood options that are just hours away from the ocean.
Great attention to us making sure we were treated well and fed well too. Loved the Chicken n dumplings. Spaghetti and meatball were as good. Service top of the line. I always say, you don’t need white table cloths to be a five star restaurant. Thank you for a great meal.

Found this place by accident but knew what to look for when I saw it as a friend who lives down there mentioned it. We love the local food atmosphere and experience, this one did not disappoint. Great service. Great food. Great time!
MIKE E — Google review
Absolutely delicious! We had an incredible breakfast at Restaurant Farmers Market. The omelets were amazing—perfectly cooked, flavorful, and packed with fresh ingredients. The French toast was next level—crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy inside, with just the right amount of sweetness. Highly recommend going for the full breakfast experience—you won’t be disappointed. Great service and a cozy atmosphere made it even better. Definitely coming back!

Old school country kitchen. Great food at a decent price. We’ve been here a few times in the past for breakfast. The portions are always fulfilling. They offer a delicious southern breakfast that hits the spot. The grits were a great consistency and buttery. My eggs were scrambled well and the corned beef hash was excellent. The overall breakfast experience was satisfactory and the service was great.
Roberts L — Google review
I had read an article about this “local gem” and decided to try this morning. It is a good no nonsense breakfast with fast & friendly service. The staff were welcoming & friendly, there were a couple large parties but our server was still attentive. All three meals were tasty.
Julie K — Google review
Great local spot, right down the street from our hotel. The food was excellent and so was our waitress. I love the fact they are BYOB as well. I highly recomend getting the country fried steak dinnner.

The bacon cheese omelet with home fried potatoes and white toast with sweat tea was amazing. The servers are very friendly and do an awesome job. The atmosphere is very welcoming and friendly. Give the Farmers Market Restaurant a try. You won't be disappointed.👍✌️

Restaurant
Claudie B's Restaurant is a beloved soul food spot in Homestead, known for its real good home cooking and friendly staff. Despite its small size and humble appearance, the food is phenomenal, with delicious breakfast, lunch, and dinner options served in a Southern grandma style. The chicken salad and corned beef hash are particularly recommended dishes. While the interior may not be impressive, the excellent food and welcoming service make it a worthwhile dining experience.
Mrs. Claudie B is the nicest lady ever. The food is phenomenal! This is definitely a hole in the wall restaurant...Not really room to sit down, but the price and food are worth it! The chef is great, and he is sure to cook food that will make your mouth water!
Jonathan H — Google review
This place is no longer Claudie B's. Fries were the only thing good. The pork chop sandwich was mostly a pork chop bone. It is a whole in the wall place, which sometimes can be good but not this time. I think the place is called lihe Ran's Place or something like that. Limited menu but prices were good. To bad food wasn't.

Yes love the food, the last time I ate at a soul food restaurant, was back in 1998, 99 on US1 across from Cutler Ridge Mall. Thank God Claudie B's Restaurant opens there doors, with real good home cooking, you just can't go wrong, when you come to eat at Claudie B's Restaurant. Keep up the good work/cooking 👍 4 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Claudine is a cornerstone in Homestead. What is Homestead without Claudine B’s? The food is great and the family owned/ operated business is always pleasantly staffed. I enjoy the friendly banter from anyone manning the counter. Take a moment and enjoy their chicken salad. You will not be disappointed.

Barbecue restaurant
Sonny's BBQ is a well-established chain known for its oak-smoked meats and a variety of sides and salads. Visitors rave about the tender and smoky ribs, flavorful brisket, perfect garlic bread, amazing sauces, and delicious beans. Some suggest swapping coleslaw for mac & cheese. The restaurant is popular among locals and law enforcement officers, often seen dining there. Guests recommend trying the pork egg rolls and praise the attentive service provided by staff like Danielle.
I had an amazing experience at Sonny’s BBQ thanks to Tracy! She was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. Her positive attitude and great service really stood out and made my visit enjoyable. You can tell she truly cares about her customers. Thank you, Tracy, for making my meal even better — I’ll definitely be back!
Roberto M — Google review
Tried this place for the first time and ordered the baby back ribs with baked beans and coleslaw. The food was absolutely delicious, ribs were tender and flavorful, and the sides complemented them well. However, the service was disappointingly slow, which took away from the overall experience. If they can improve on that, this would be a top-notch spot. Would definitely come back for the food, but hoping for better service next time!
Abel — Google review
This place used to be really good, but the quality and prices are just crazy lately. $27 for a “lean” brisket dinner to get 3 small slices of brisket that were 75% fat. $7 for two bites of banana pudding and 5 nilla wafers . Unacceptable. Only for the 2* is my kids’ chicken tenders were decent.
Lazaro C — Google review
This review could have been easily been 5 stars. My official review is 4.5. Firstly, customer service was on point. Michelle is a rockstar - very nice and suggestive. The place itself is very well decorated. Suitable for a family setting or just to grab a beer and some BBQ. Food: I highly recommend the BBQ chicken, beans, st Louis ribs, and the fries were awesome. The garden salad also tasted very fresh, which anyone can appreciate. The brisket - wish it was more tender and the beef burger was average. Overall, I would go back and maybe try their wings and a cold brew. Maybe catch a game. Lastly, and very important - the prices seem very reasonable unlike many other places these days.

Casual place for various types of meat. Everything was good, no complaints. Not necessarily anything unique as compared to similar bbq style restaurants. They have a list of allergens if you ask for it, which explains each item on the menu and if it has dairy, gluten, etc.
Adam Y — Google review
The main restaurant had a fire so currently they serve from their food truck outside. Food was still good. Recommend the chopped brisket. Baked bean were good, need a bit more of a brown sugar maple taste. Tasted a bit tomato-y. Don't recommend the mac n cheese though. Was a great option for a food stop coming from Miami airport on the way to The Keys.

“Ribs, Roads, and Ridiculous Deliciousness – 2015 Never Tasted So Good!” We stopped at Sonny's BBQ back in 2015, and let me tell you — it’s still one of the most glorious, smoky, sauce-covered food memories we’ve ever had. We still talk about it. Sometimes we dream about it. Sometimes we wake up craving ribs at 2 a.m. and whisper, “Sonny’s…” into the void. First off: Location, location, location. Right off S Dixie Highway, practically begging you to pull in. Whether you’re heading to the Keys, escaping Miami, or just pretending to be on a road trip to justify eating BBQ at 3 PM — this place is perfectly placed. We didn’t even need to think about it. Blink, and boom: Ribs. Now, the food. Sweet, smoky heaven. We ordered the ribs. (Obviously.) And they were the kind of ribs that make you pause mid-bite just to process what’s happening in your mouth. Fall-off-the-bone tender, beautifully charred on the outside, and slathered in that glorious BBQ sauce that makes your fingers sticky and your soul happy. We may have stopped talking altogether during the meal — just a table full of people making “mmm” sounds and staring lovingly at smoked meat. The sides were also great (mac and cheese, cornbread, baked beans — all the classics, all on point), but let’s be honest: we came for the ribs, and the ribs delivered like a smoky punch to the tastebuds. Service was fast, friendly, and totally chill. Classic BBQ joint vibes — no fuss, no pretense, just meat and happiness. Pro tip: Wear something loose. You’ll want the extra space. Trust us. If you're in Homestead and your GPS says you're anywhere near Sonny's, turn in. Don’t argue. Just follow the smoke and the joy. Five stars. Ten napkins. Zero regrets. (Visited in 2015, still recovering in the best way.)

SOOO GOOD!! I’ve never been to this place before although, I grew up here…ummmm delicious. The atmosphere is so nice and cozy, very quiet. Molly was a great server and made sure we were well taken care of! The portion sizes here are insane for the price, the drinks were huge and the amount of food you get for the price is a deal. Not only that but the food came out so quick and it was fresh. Loved it!!! Would 100% recommend
