Resort hotel
Nestled on the northeastern tip of Puerto Rico, El Conquistador Resort is a luxurious oceanside retreat offering bright and airy rooms, three pools, a water park, and an impressive selection of over 20 restaurants and bars. The resort spans 500 acres with three intimate 'villages' and a grand hotel perched on 300-foot bluffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea.
El Conquistador is truly a stunning resort! The grounds are beautifully maintained, the pools are incredible, and the views are absolutely breathtaking—something that really sets this property apart. We stayed at the Casitas, which were spacious, comfortable, and offered such a relaxing experience. The only area that could be improved was the pool bar staff, as they weren’t as friendly or engaging as we expected. However, the overall beauty and charm of the resort far outweigh that small detail. If you’re looking for a place that combines relaxation, great amenities, and unforgettable scenery, I highly recommend El Conquistador. We’ll be back!

We had a wonderful time at El Conquistador Resort. The scenery alone is breathtaking: from the golf course to the ocean views, every corner feels like a postcard. The hotel itself was beautiful and it’s clear they’re making great strides in improving the property. A special thank you to Cysmal, who helped us with our reservation, and Miguel, who took care of our luggage and greeted us with such warmth. Their hospitality set the tone for our stay. Our room had a stunning view, and the waterpark, ferry rides to the private island, and cable cars made the entire experience unforgettable. There’s so much to do that we barely had a reason to leave the resort. The only downside was the food service. The quality and attention to detail didn’t match the rest of the experience — one meal even came out burnt, which delayed our plans. For the price point, the meals could definitely use improvement. Overall, despite the hiccup with the food, we truly enjoyed our stay. The resort is beautiful, the staff (especially Cysmal and Miguel) made us feel cared for, and we can’t wait to come back!

This place is absolutely fantastic! From the friendly staff and scenery to the things to do, everything was perfect. The only thing is just be prepared to pay more for the food, drinks, and souvenirs but not having to leave the resort to have a good meal is well worth it. From the time we got there we were treated like we were royalty. Angel, the one who guided us to our room showed us around was awesome. The Palomino Island experience is something you have to experience while you are there. Jorge, our waiter on the island went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The food was great at every restaurant we ate at, including the mofongo at Ventanas. We will definitely be returning to this resort again! If you are thinking about going here....DO IT!!!!! You will not be disappointed!

We booked roughly six months ago for a work conference (extended into a vacation) that would be held at this resort. Upon arriving at the beautiful location, we were checking in with a young man by the name of Jayden. Jayden tried to quickly slip through the detail that our king bedroom had been changed to a double queen. When asked for clarification he was very unconcerned with the fact that they had changed our reservation and given no notice. He offered no solution and no apology. We asked about a paid upgrade to be able to have a king bed and he told us that wasn’t an option. Because we were exhausted from travel and ready to rest we simply accepted the unwanted room change. Outside of our change in accommodations and Jayden’s lack of customer service, we truly enjoyed the resort. The rest of the staff was very kind and accommodating. Raquel (poolside waitress) and Angel (bellman) were two standout employees that went above and beyond. We enjoyed visiting with them both and greatly appreciated their kindness. The room was clean and well decorated. We visited before their peak season started, so there were very few wait times, but I can imagine that in peak season the ferry ride to the island might be tedious, albeit it worth it. Overall, it is a very nice resort. The drive from the airport is about an hour, but the views make it well worth it. Just confirm your desired room is still available and correct before arriving.

The resort is amazing. The view is breathtaking! For that rate, would be nice to have a good breakfast buffet all week, including local dishes. The music is too loud.I was at the lobby and I heard 3 different songs at the same time! Also, I couldn’t have my window open due the music. I would like also to have the option of shuttles to San Juan as an alternative activity. The music is too loud for the parrots they have- small cages for their size?, with the a/c and the music all the time. Rooms are small but comfortable.

This place is run down, the furniture is old looking and the carpets are faded. There were amenities that were promised like robes that were not there. And the food was iffy. We ate in the main dining room and my date had tacos which I tried and the chicken was hard and overcooked. I got the salmon. The citrus glaze was very sweet and overwhelmed the flavor of everything. I watched my waiter Stand around and chat with the other waiters and cooks while I waited an unreasonable amount of time for the food, considering the quality. There could’ve been a lot more creativity and effort gone into this food for the price and It was certainly not worthy of a quality resort. I could’ve gotten a lot better dinner in town. I gave the room three stars only because the front desk personnel were very helpful, the room was clean and the bed comfortable. We paid $330 for a king size bed with a view and didn’t mind spending the money but not for this kind of poor quality.
Janet H — Google review
Our stay at this resort fell short of expectations, especially for the price and its advertised 4-star rating. The check-in experience was the first letdown — the front desk staff handed us a resort map but offered no guidance or information about the property. We ended up relying on the bellboy Gabriel and Xavier who dropped us off at our room for the basics. To make matters worse, check-in staff did not mention that our booking included complimentary breakfast. We only found out on our last night of a 3-night stay, and when we asked for compensation, the staff offered only a minor amount of 1 day resort fees that didn’t make up for the oversight. Checkout also came with confusion. The promised resort fee reimbursement didn’t appear correctly at first, and there was a mix-up with the complimentary breakfast. Even though the breakfast was only given to us for the last day of our stay, they still attempted to charge us for it. They even called the restaurant to verify our use of the breakfast coupons while we were standing there, which felt uncomfortable. At a 4-star resort, breakfast should always be clearly included and communicated — even most basic hotels provide this service as complimentary without confusion. The rooms themselves were also underwhelming. They were quite average for the price point and definitely didn’t feel like 4-star accommodations. We dealt with a noticeable ant issue throughout our stay — surprising and frustrating, especially while being on the 4th floor. The biggest positive is the beautiful ocean views, which truly are lovely and probably the main highlight of the property. That said, several practical aspects were disappointing. Parking is very far from the main building, and both valet and self-parking are pricey. The resort is located far from the city as well, which means you’ll likely end up dining at one of the on-site restaurants — unfortunately, the food is mediocre given the high prices. Rooms also do not have microwaves, so you can’t reheat leftovers if you bring food back. Overall, the views are wonderful, but the service, lack of communication, room quality, and added costs make it hard to justify the 4-star rating or the price. Not a resort I would return to.
Surabhi C — Google review
Uninterested staff at front desk. The guy who checked us in was least interested and didn’t tell anything about the resort and we had to figure out everything on our own wasting a lot of our time. He didn’t even tell that we had complimentary breakfast and we got to know about that on the third & last day of our stay and the rude front desk supervisor refused to fairly compensate us for that saying it’s a complimentary thing and they are not obliged to reimburse/compensate for that even though it was clearly their staffs fault. They even refused to tell the name of the person who checked us in to report him. Some bathroom towels were a bit torn and had stain marks on them. Lot of ants in room even though we were on fourth floor. No microwave in room. Wi-Fi doesn’t work properly in most common areas. Restaurants are overpriced with really average food. All in all really bad experience for a hotel you are paying over $500 a night for. Would not return here and will let others know to stay afar as well.

Located in the charming village of Las Croabas just a short drive north of Fajardo, Parque Pasivo Las Croabas offers a serene escape. The park provides a peaceful setting for picnics under the shade of trees while enjoying refreshing ocean breezes. It's an ideal spot for families, with opportunities for kids to ride bikes and play on swing sets with slides. Visitors can also take leisurely walks along the shore to observe crabs and birds.
Located by the beach. Visited with kid. He loved to play in the park. The wind and evening vibes in the beach across was amazing.Has some photo spots too. Also has great restaurants around to eat. Nice place to spend an evening wjth family.

decent area for photos. nice to be right next to the water. lots of boats were out. even one was sunken in the water halfway sticking out.

I am giving 5 stars ⭐ after this visit since it was a weekday during our "Winter" when the place was deserted. During the Summer it would be a different experience, very crowded and noisy. Great place to bring the kids to spend a few hours, perhaps riding their bikes 🚲 . Many spots to have picnics under the 🌞 or a tree 🌴 enjoying the ocean 🌊 breeze. A couple of nice swing sets with slides. Excellent to walk along the shore looking at crabs 🦀, birds 🕊️ and more. There's plenty of parking. In the morning most businesses were closed, in the afternoon some of them opened.

Water & Amusement Parks
Nestled within the El Conquistador Resort in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, Coquí Water Park is a must-visit family-friendly attraction. Accessible via quirky funiculars offering stunning views of the marina and Isleta Marina, this 2.4-acre water park features four thrilling water slides, a large main pool, and ocean vistas. Visitors can also enjoy activities like climbing the Torre De Yocahu Tower or relaxing on the Lazy River.
So much fun. It’s free if your staying at the resort. They have 3 slides and a lazy river. The pool is very relaxing. They had plenty of lounge chairs with umbrellas for shade. They provide towels. Food was very good too. Bathrooms are spotless. The only thing I didn’t like was that they don’t let you bring snacks in.
Alex D — Google review
Small water park best suited for families with kids. The slides are great and so is the lazy river along with the kiddie pool that turns into infinity pool.

Coqui water park is one of many aquatic experiences at el Conquistador resort. No tickets needed just be a guest. 9am to 6 pm, three water slides named "Huracan," "Gigante Dormido," and "Marohu." We really enjoyed this attraction.

Sooo fun! Three big waterslides including one with a free fall start. Lazy river and little kid waterslides too. At 4pm on a Sunday afternoon, very uncrowded and no lines. Also has dressing rooms, showers, etc plus food. Gorgeous views in the Caribbean too. Tip: have your friends take photos of you on the highest plunge slide from the bridge just in front of it. We visited in March 2022 and admission was included in the hotel stay - no additional charges as some reviews below indicate.
Daniel D — Google review
Enjoyed the place and staff working at the pool. Food service is pretty bad, long lines, wait and average options. Would be nice to have waiters around since being part of the hotel one might spend half day consuming.

Do not bother coming here at all if your children are not over ‘48 inches tall. They will be allowed to use 1 small slide. That is all. No exceptions. Doesn’t matter if you have a life vest or you are accompanied by an adult or know how to swim. Not worth it. Not worth the drive. Only 3 other slides anyway. Disappointing to say the least.

Barbecue restaurant
La Estación is a unique dining spot located in an old gas station outside the Conquistador Resort in Fajardo, Puerto Rico. The restaurant is the brainchild of two New Yorkers with extensive restaurant experience who have brought their expertise to create a culinary haven dedicated to Nuyorican BBQ. This innovative style combines American barbecue techniques with Caribbean flavors and spices, resulting in mouthwatering dishes that are not to be missed.
Great spot all around! The pulled pork sandwich I got was enough for two people. Luckily I came hungry. The views and the staff was amazing! I would be back when I’m on that side of the island. I however would have loved to see a couple more options on the menu. Like a brisket sandwich and that sorta stuff. Still 5 stars!
Brandon S — Google review
The food was simply fantastic. We appreciated all the options with the daily specials. Their BBQ Sampler is a must try - the brisket & pulled pork is fantastic. Additionally, the pulled pork poppers with tomatillo sauce were a favorite of ours. Friendly service & great atmosphere. We will never stop recommending this place to people!

We had an amazing dinner here near Fajardo. We had a 6pm Kayak tour and made 4pm reservations. We were seated right away and made our reservation at the bay no problem! The food was great! I had the brisket which was juicy and flavorful, while my wife had the pulled pork Mac and cheese which she loved! The rustic atmosphere was relaxing and there were a few cats walking by. Definitely worth stopping by!!!!

We were really excited to try La Estacion during our visit and had high expectations based on all the glaring reviews, however, it was overhyped. The food was good, but nothing to rave home about. I would put this in the average to slightly above average BBQ category. We tried the BBQ sampler (brisket, ribs and pulled park) along with a shrimp seafood special. The brisket was on the dryer side which was disappointing considering this is one of their signature dishes. The service was good and the ambience is nice. It’s certainly worth going to if you are in the area, however I think the reviews oversell the place.
Michael B — Google review
Good food, but not worth the price. It took a while for our food to come out, which is fine, they were busy. The food was good but not remarkable. The brisket had way too much fat on it and the rice and beans needed a little more flavor. The matahambre sandwich was excellent however.

Waited an 1 hour and 40 min, not worth it at all. Got here at 7:34, it’s now 9:19. Received my food at 9:00. The food came out cold, the corn bread is DRY. The steak could be better, the rib taste was good but the meat itself wasn’t. The empanada wasn’t the best either. The kids got mac and cheese, it came out cold as well. Didn’t get drink refills. Bad service, not worth the wait or food.
Victoria C — Google review
Fajardo, PR Open air restaurant. They open at 4 pm. People are waiting in line before opening. We were the first. I’m a vegetarian so all they can suggest are sides. I ordered the salad with goat cheese. That was just OK not crazy about the vinaigrette. I didn’t finish it. I ordered potato salad, which was terrible. It was lacking flavor. I also ordered the mac & cheese, which normally would come with some kind of meat or fish, but they gave it to me without and that was OK. I didn’t quite finish it because it was just too much for me. It was suggested that I order these little coconut rounds. They did not taste like coconut at all. It was a little round bread like things, and they were a bit hard and lacked any sort of flavor. The vegetarian rice and beans was a good choice. My husband ordered the brisket which was way overpriced. And he didn’t quite finish it and french fries that came with. Fries were very overdone and he didn’t even touch them. I told the server but he was just like OK and that was it. So I guess they could really care less whether you eat it or like it , it doesn’t really seem to matter. I asked for a strong drink and asked them to suggest a cocktail and I was told about this one with tequila and guava juice and I ordered that, that was a poor choice because it was very bland and it wasn’t strong at all ….it was so blah. I can’t quite tell you why I didn’t like it … it just lacked flavor. I didn’t taste any kind of guava juice, although it was an orange color. And it appeared to have a dried slice of orange probably a blood orange but that gave it no flavor. It was mainly for decoration, which was completely useless to me. After tasting so many side dishes I really had no desire for dessert and we just paid the bill and left. This was recommended by a friend and they absolutely loved it. They had a huge lobster that seemed to be stuffed with some things and they just love this place so we tried it on their recommendation. Our server told us that the truck didn’t come in with the lobsters on it so that wasn’t available. Even though I don’t eat lobster but perhaps my husband wanted to try it and yeah, so that wasn’t available. This is a meat and seafood lovers restaurant. I’m sure that other people enjoy it. It’s apparent by the way that people lineup outside for it. I don’t think I’d come here again because they don’t have much for me even though they do have these sides that I can order but I feel that at least one entrée should be for vegetarians instead of me having to order so many sides. So I’m disappointed with that. There’s parking in the front I don’t know how much is available because we only saw a few parking spaces in the front. I don’t know about handicap parking or a handicap access because there are a few steps that you have to go through but there might be another entrance for handicap wheelchair access. It’s kid friendly. The place is clean. I can’t really complain about that. I do recommend trying it, my food opinion is just mine as a vegetarian. My husband is a meat eater and he said that he probably wouldn’t come here again. He doesn’t think that there’s anything special about it. There was a New York strip steak on the menu and that was hugely overpriced. His brisket was I believe about $70 which was way way way overpriced. Reservations are strongly recommended. They will take the people that have reservations first.
Lola — Google review
The environment was great felt very tropical. Drove an hour and a half for the food and was worth it. Got the BBQ sampler and it was more than enough food for 2 people. The Mac and cheese was great and probably the best out of everything. Came here a year later and the food is excellent, prices have been raised for the bbq smaller but it was worth it.

Pasion por el Fogon is a popular upscale restaurant located near Playa Sardinera in Fajardo, Puerto Rico. Known for its diverse menu, the restaurant offers a variety of dishes including gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, contemporary, Spanish, international, seafood, Latin, Caribbean and Puerto Rican cuisine. The elegant atmosphere makes it an ideal choice for a romantic dinner or a relaxing night out.
I ordered the stuffed fish. It was one of the best fish dishes I’ve ever had in my life. The service was incredible. The staff were super friendly. One of the waiters even gave me a ride back to my hotel. Amazing experience!

A very highly recommended seafood place in Fajardo. Good options and a wide variety in the menu. Passion fruit sangria is a nice drink you should try. Calamari was good, but could have been more crispier. Do ask for the hot sauce along with the passion fruit sauce they give you. Red snapper ceviche was refreshing. We asked for the grilled swordfish but they had to replace it with red snapper, which was still good. We also tried their very popular fried stuffed fish with shrimp. Order this if you have a big appetite. It's an entire red snapper fish fried and stuffed with a seafood of your choosing. It was large!

I’ve been to Pasión por el Fogón before and had a wonderful experience, which is why I was so excited to return this time with my family. I wanted to share a place that meant something to me, that I had spoken highly of, and that I thought would be a special memory for all of us. Unfortunately, that’s not how the night went. We had a reservation, were seated on time, and waited patiently. But after more than an hour and a half, we still hadn’t received our food. We watched multiple tables who arrived after us get served and leave, while we sat waiting with no explanation, no updates, and no one checking in. Our kids grew restless and hungry. We ended up leaving and going to Chick-fil-A just to feed them. I was honestly embarrassed. I felt like I let my family down by bringing them here. I don’t know what happened whether the kitchen was overwhelmed or something got missed but what hurt most was the silence. No one acknowledged us or offered to make it right. I know this restaurant is capable of excellence. I’ve experienced it myself. And maybe that’s why this experience stung more than if it had been my first time. I’m leaving this review not out of anger, but because I hope future guests get the attention and care they deserve. I still believe in this place but something went really wrong that night, and I hope it gets addressed.

THIS PLACE IS A MUST GO!!!! I was licking every last crumb from everything we ordered. We were even in a rush to eat our food but it was SO DANG GOOD!! We ordered the fried fish stuffed with lobster with a cream of garlic sauce (as per the server’s recommendations). This took a while to come out, almost a whole hour but they also had a large party that they were working on. It was definitely worth the wait though- seasoned and fried to perfection. We also started off with fried cheese which was delicious as well- would definitely recommend, especially if you love cheese! Come Again? YES! If I visit Puerto Rico again, I’m definitely coming back here.

Our recent visit to La Pasión por el fogón left us with mixed feelings. While I had high hopes for an exceptional culinary experience, the food fell short of my expectations. The flavors lacked the depth and creativity I had anticipated, and to make matters worse, the prices were quite steep. It's disappointing when the quality of the food doesn't align with the cost, and unfortunately, that was the case here. To add to the disappointment, my daughter experienced stomach discomfort after the meal. This made the overall experience even more unsatisfactory. It's unfortunate when a dining experience not only fails to meet expectations but also leaves a negative physical impact. All in all, it was a rather underwhelming and regrettable visit, characterized by both overpriced fare and subsequent discomfort. I don’t think we will go back.

They are usually very busy and would need a reservation, but due to rain we were able to get in from a cancellation! We had such a wonderful time here. Gladys is such a beautiful lady! Asked us our names, then sat us down and proceeded to give us first class service. The staff were amazing as well. The food is made by order and with love, so enjoy the view while you wait. The food is 100% worth the wait! The pancakes…chef’s kiss! The Benedict was also delicious! And at the end, a hug from Gladys! Wonderful experience. I would highly recommend this place. We had an excellent time at Las Vistas. Gladys is a wonderful host and makes you feel like family while visiting. The food is fantastic and the views are wonderful. It is a great way to start your day! While we were able to get in right at 8AM, it is recommended to call in advance for reservations. My 17 y/o son loved the mixed seafood arepas and he is not easy to please. My husband had the stuffed snapper and loved it. I highly recommend this place!

Had dinner here our first night in town. Everything was delicious, the ribeye was perfectly marbled and cooked exactly how I ordered it. The drinks were unique and delicious with their own special spin. Service was great. Was a very enjoyable meal.

We walked 20 mins from Las Croabas uphill to the restaurant because the reviews looked good and I wanted authentic PR food. It was 100% worth the hike because the food was very authentic and oh so delicious! I will definitely recommend to friends who are traveling to this area. We had the grilled octopus and red snapper filet with arroz mamposteado.

Decent Puerto Rican dinner place. My family had high expectations going in after reading all the reviews. In our experience, food was flavorful, service was exceptionally slow (apparently our server forgot about our table and we had to prompt a couple of times to be served) and cocktails could have been better.

On our last day on the island, we were excited to find a great spot, and this place did not disappoint. One of our starters arrived as a main dish, which turned out to be a fantastic surprise—yuca with octopus, absolutely delicious but we could barely catch our breath after eating in all. For our main courses, we had fried red snapper and shrimp mofongo, both bursting with flavor. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful, making the experience even better. The place was clean, and the overall atmosphere was delightful. 🇵🇷❤️

Staying at the Calizo Guest House next door and walked over for dinner and drinks after checking in. Ordered a mojito acerola which was strong and delicious, then I got shrimp salad w/ rice and beans (ensalada de camarones y arroz con gandules) and my mom got the mahi mahi fillet with the house (kalizo) sauce and a side of vegetables. It was incredible. This was a week into our trip and we were super excited for all the veggies!

This is an absolute must-visit destination! The food was nothing short of spectacular. I ordered the red snapper filet, and it was cooked to perfection, bursting with flavor and wonderfully tender. Additionally, the stuffed arepa with octopus was divine—each bite was a delightful blend of textures and savory tastes. I can't recommend this place enough!

Seafood restaurant
Rest. El Pescador & Tapas is a seafood restaurant located in the Fajardo marina, offering stunning views and a variety of fresh seafood dishes with a Caribbean touch. The eatery is known for its fresh lobster and steak options, as well as its casual atmosphere and Caribbean vibe. While reservations are not accepted, the wait is worth it to enjoy the delicious food and outstanding cocktails in front of the ocean.
Delicious food! And really good drinks! Service was also wonderful. We sat outside, and atmosphere was nice.

Excellent food. Like most places in Puerto Rico speed of service operates at a very relaxed pace which makes for an experience not just a meal. Prices are as expected with local dishes being slightly less and things that are more common stateside reflecting the cost of getting it here.

The best dining experience I had in Puerto Rico. The food was perfect—I highly recommend the steak mofongo. The drink had a lighter alcohol content, which allowed the fruit flavors to shine through and felt gentler on the stomach.

This was our favorite restaurant on the little strip on the beach. We could walk to it from our lodging. Kisha was our waitress. Her recommendations were spot on. I had crab cakes and the fried fish with creole with rice and beans. It was yummy! It does take a while to cook from scratch and it’s island time & not the rush through food most stateside people are use to, so we sat back, enjoyed the view, had a drink and enjoyed our dinner. Thanks again Kisha for your recommendations!!

We tried just about every restaurant on the loop and this was by far our favorite. It had more options for my wife who does not eat seafood, and the grilled lobster I had was to die for. Good prices and incredible sangria.

Absolutely love this restaurant and we did come twice in a row. The food is reasonably priced and the fried fish is the best among all I have tried (stayed for a week on this island)! The vegetables comes with mango and vinegar blended flavor which taste delightful and fresh. One thing you might need to watch out - mosquitoes! That is the only caveat.

This is fresh food, the owner himself is the fisherman, you will not get fresher and the prices are very affordable. He took care of our table, we all eat lobster. I recommend this place and will definitely return. Be aware that they cook at the order, so enjoy some drinks and appetizers before.

The following is a real review for the Rest. El Pescador & Tapas located at Carr 987 km 7.2 Parque Pasivo, Las Croabas , the restaurant left much to be desired. Despite arriving well before closing time, most menu items were unavailable by 8 PM, which was disappointing. To make matters worse, the service was extremely slow, and the food took far too long to arrive. When it finally did, the lobster was dry and overcooked, lacking the quality one would expect. Overall, it was an underwhelming experience that didn’t justify the wait or the hype.
