Beautiful path around the lake, except for the north side. Parks and picnic Cove. Mostly quiet, well reserved nature with wild Kangaroos

I don’t normally shop here but came here today to do a few things. You can find just about anything you want in the shopping centre or near surrounds. It’s much more convenient than going to the city as it’s air conditioned, plenty of parking, no unsociable people and behaviour. It’s a good place to shop.

Went looking for a Calender Club pop-up store, next week I was told. Again. Coles was friendly and busy and the Lucky Charm Newsagents is under new Management. Biggest surprise was the Coral* pop-up. Selling excellent Leather goods and some Wonderful Lady's Fragrances. Worth a sniff if you see them.

Love this place! You can find almost everything here — from groceries to all the daily essentials and more. The area can get a bit crowded at times, but that just shows how popular it is. Conveniently located near both the bus stop and railway station, it’s easy to reach. Lakeside Joondalup Shopping Centre is one of the largest and most popular shopping destinations in Perth’s northern suburbs. Parking is easily available, and there are plenty of options to dine, shop, and hang out with friends. Overall, it’s a great place to spend your day and get everything done in one go!

Park
Nature & Parks
Neil Hawkins Park is a lovely recreational green space that offers picnic facilities with grills, a playground, and access to the lake. It serves as an ideal starting point for picnics and exploration of Yellagonga Regional Park. The park features beautiful trails around Lake Joondalup and the surrounding bushland where visitors can admire native flora and observe kangaroos, turtles, frogs, and birds.
Wonderful pathway for the walkers or runners, young and old, there's something for everyone. There are BBQ facilities and restrooms with undercover tables with benches. The playground area has recently been upgraded and faces the picturesque lake. It's unfortunate dogs are not allowed - on leash and otherwise (on the spot fines; its to ensure the protection of the flora & fauna).
Mrs W — Google review
Gorgeous little park. I enjoyed watching the birds out on the little dock area. Ice cream van pulled up too, so it's good in the summer for little treats. Nice place to ride your bike, I'd assume, as there were a couple of cyclists there
Emotional B — Google review
Facilities and parking were excellent. The walking track is well maintained and highly accessible for wheelchairs/walkers too. It’s easy to walk a long way while looking at the lake and wildlife so plan ahead for when to turn back. I think a friend said it was 19km (or thereabouts) the whole way around the lake so a long way…

Came on Holiday to visit family and spent the morning with them having a Barque. I was so amazed to see the area so clean and friendly. My husband in a wheelchair we had an amazing time walking around walking down to the dock area to see the seagulls watching us there.

I cycle from Sherrington Road. Lovely park with great cycling and walking path.
Ande L — Google review
A beautiful spot for a quiet, mindful walk, lake views and some bird spotting. Dual walking and cycling tracks surround the lake. Family friendly too with picnic tables, a playground and plenty of room to kick a ball around. The toilets are clean, but don't always have soap, so it pays to bring hand sanitizer or wipes.

Pizza restaurant
Uptown Pizza, located in Joondalup, is a popular spot known for its delicious New York Style pizzas. The restaurant's unique cut-out pizza boxes add to the experience. Visitors can expect a warm welcome and enjoy their meal in a nostalgic atmosphere with retro gaming consoles from Nintendo and Sega. Customers rave about the exceptional quality of the pizzas and describe it as an unforgettable dining experience.
Recently went to uptown and it really did not disappoint. I’ve lived in NYC and this pizza really did bring back memories of my NY days. The cheesy garlic bread was so yummy!! We made our own pizza, we had olives, chillies, pineapples mushroom, charred corn & red onion. The retro theme atmosphere was awesome! Oh and the music playlist was amazing. I can’t wait to go back.
Mansi P — Google review
We absolutely love this place! The atmosphere is warm and friendly and the staff are always incredibly welcoming and attentive. Their vegan options are delicious and clearly made with care — honestly some of the best we’ve had. Prices are fair, portions are generous, and overall it’s just a wonderful spot to enjoy a relaxed evening. We will definitely come back :)
Carina M — Google review
The pizzas are surprisingly big (large pictured) and the toppings tasted fresh and delicious. The girl who was working at the front was delightfully friendly. The pizza dough however was super chewy and didn't tear well. Having had pizza in New York, this was a bit too tough for me.
Dave S — Google review
Pizza is really nice, delicious actually. I used to go here often. I thought I'd treat myself and order a pizza it's been a while. I ordered an XL pepperoni with 2 dips. But $68.00 for 1 pizza?!? That's insane. I can get 3 pizza's for that price at many other places. $68.... 68
Nik O — Google review
After reading about Uptown Pizza in the Perth Pizza Hunters FB group, my girlfriend and I ventured out there on a rainy evening for an early dinner tonight. The restaurant had only just opened for the evening, so whilst my photos make it look empty, it soon had a few other couples, and did a reasonable takeaway trade whilst we were there. Service was inviting, the choice in music was great and the booths were great to sit in. They allow BYO for $2 a person, and it felt very civilised after a week of lockdown to eat out. The lockdown doesn’t seem to be inviting for use of the share tables, however I’m sure in normal times, they get full. We tried two [pizzas, the Whitehouse and the Williamsburg. We were willing to try the Whitehouse now that the crazy millionaire is no longer residing, and Williamsburg was an interesting neighbourhood I explored when I stayed in Brooklyn a decade or so ago. Anyway, onto the food. The Whitehouse consists of fior di latte, ricotta, evoo, caramelised onion and parsley with a sesame seed crust. I thought the sesame seed was just a gimmick, but it was amazing how the taste came through. I’m fairly sure I’ve never noticed sesame seed rolls before, this was fascinating. With a super thin base, and this tasty big crust, this was by far my favourite. The caramelised onion added a flavour that just put it into one of my favourites immediately. Next up, we also shared the Williamsburg, another good pizza, topped with mozzarella, parmesan, mushrooms and spinach. Once again, a thin base and a nicely chewy crust that stood out. Overall, my eating partner and I both preferred the Whitehouse. I was very surprised with the sesame seed and the caramelised onion. I’ll be back to have this again, and work through other offerings on their very American influenced menu,.
Miles B — Google review
The girl on the front counter was more interested in her phone than providing any service. Really unprofessional. Pizza wasn't great and overpriced. would never dine in here again
Luke M — Google review
This is our favourite pizza place to go to and do delivery but tonight we’re not happy and disappointed. The store closing time is 9pm, we arrived 8:17 and the door is closed and locked. There are 3 female and 1 male staff inside, they informed us that the kitchen is already closed. How come they closed so early with 4 staff inside? They might be just lazy and want to go home early that’s why don’t want to accommodate customers.
CIndy B — Google review
Hidden gem in Joondalup! Best New York style pizza that I have had outside New York. Great service, awesome pizza and super clean venue. Will certainly be recommending to my friends and look forward to visiting again soon! Visited twice in one week and the pizza was even better the second time… need a sixth star ⭐️

Botanical garden
Wanneroo Botanic Gardens is a popular destination in Western Australia, featuring one of the largest mini golf courses in the country. The 36-hole course is set amidst beautiful privately-owned gardens and offers varying levels of difficulty with its obstacles. Additionally, there's a unique Billiard Golf course that adds an exciting twist to the game. The gardens themselves are a sight to behold, making it an ideal spot for a family outing or a lighthearted date.
What a beautiful crazy/mini golf course, the gardens are stunning and the holes are so good. The billard course is a great idea and is a tricky little number. Feeding the koi is also a must, set amongst the lily pads they are some stunning looking fish who appreciate a feed.
Robbie G — Google review
Perfect Christmas activity for the kids! Lots of beautiful Christmas lights and set ups all around the gardens. Booked tickets in advance for a specific timed entry. I should imagine A lot of work goes in to setting this all up. Best to go as late as possible so it’s dark and can appreciate lights. Had pizza and drinks in the garden before going to see the lights. Would say the pizzas were fairly expensive especially if feeding a family but they tasted good. Only other comment would be that the kids were keen to see the ‘snow flakes’ but they only happened every half an hour which if you missed them, it’s a long wait to see them again and would be helpful if they were more frequent.
Liz J — Google review
We went for a walk in the gardens this morning, they are beautiful. All the staff were very welcoming. We'll definitely come back to play putt putt soon!
Sandy G — Google review
This has been on the list of things to do on our perth holiday every since I found out about it. It definitely didn't disappoint. It's so well laid out, so well lit and a gorgeous place to be. I'd love to come back and see it in the day time as it looks like a gorgeous garden. I was worried if it would be dark enough to see the balls, and if it was, how it would be light enough to be able to see the course. But it was perfect. My son's ball wasn't lighting up properly but we took it back and they happily swapped for a new one. This would be the perfect outing for literally anyone who wants to play mini golf. And indeed the night we were there there were people of all ages, family groups, friends, couples. Everyone having a ball and everyone waiting patiently for their turn. The bonus of having a lit up ball is that you can actually find it when it ends up on the bushes🤭🤭
Frances — Google review
As a family of four including two teens, we headed out for some evening GLOW golf. The 18 holes took approximately an hour total. At $25 odd a head, I feel the activity was overpriced for an evening session. I felt this sort of activity was more in the $15 a head range. Had it of been a day session, I would have agreed at $25 as you could properly take in the botanical park. A glowing golf ball just wasn't enough for me to go 'yeah $25 evening session is justified' because that is ALL that glows.
Jody E — Google review
A very cute place. Loved reading about the history and its Dutch founder. Amazing trees and very nicely done. Entry by a modest ticket price or buying something in the excellent cafe - all on trust! The mini golf keeps the kids happy as the trees provide shade. Must be a stunning wedding venue.
Erwin L — Google review
The best mini golf in Perth. Crazy busy during Christmas time but it's definitely always a really great time here especially at night with the glow in the dark balls. The restaurant is good as well, they also have icecream available as well.
Consumed — Google review
A yearly routine, really. Around Xmas the Botanic gardens have the Xmas lights show. Well done and a lot of work put into this yearly event. Very noticeable is the increase of the number of visitors. Tickets for entree at a certain timeslot is compulsary. You can also book a meal at the restaurant with a free entree to the lightshow included.

Cafe
Nestled in a charming corner, Moments Cafe invites you to savor a delightful array of classic breakfast dishes, mouthwatering burgers, and indulgent desserts. The cafe's eclectic decor creates a warm and inviting atmosphere where the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee fills the air. Whether you're stopping by for a quick lunch or enjoying a leisurely meal, you'll find an impressive selection that includes daily specials and unique fusion creations.
I first came to Moments Cafe just after we had our firstborn son, in the summer of 2013. He warmed immediately to the place and so did I! Sunday breakfasts were always hard to get a table, but that's understandable when the food and the service are as good as they are! Over the months when we lived nearby it became a key place to make memories, have great coffee and be served with class by Linda, Richard, and the rest of the team at Moments Cafe. I came back here today because I had a an appointment nearby and was so heartened to again see Linda and Richard all these years later. Today, I had the bruschetta (incredible) and a cloudy apple juice. It was quiet when I got here (which had me nervous) but I needn't have worried as things were notably busy by the time I finished my lunch. I really can't recommend this place. It's unassuming and understated. Beneath that humility is a welome respite from quite Joondy streets and a place built and nurtured with love, care and enthusiasm. Great spot.

This is the smallest “big breakfast” I’ve had, both my eggs which I requested to be poached were both hard in the middle. My mushroom lacked seasoning but apart from that everything else tasted good, the hash brown was crispy and not oily, the sausage was tasty but I only got 1 and it was small. One thing I really did enjoy was the particular bread they use for this meal it was eatable with everything in the meal.

Moments Cafe is a jem of joonjulup.! My partner and I went there a few days ago with our toddler for lunch, and one of the super lovely staff members even offered my son a plate and fork. 🍽 When we finished, we asked for a takeaway cup 🥤 and it came with a personal note! I absolutely love this cafe 15/10 for sure! We ordered French toast 🍞 bacon cream cheese bagel ( add egg ) 🥯 doubble smash burger / beef burger 🍔 strawberry milkshake 🍓 🥛 and a matcha latte ☕️

I recently indulged in a delightful brunch experience at Moments Cafe, and it was simply wonderful! The cozy atmosphere set the perfect backdrop for my morning meal. I savored every bite of their Moments Big Breakfast, which was impeccably prepared and left me feeling fully satisfied. Paired with a superbly crafted flat white coffee, it was the quintessential brunch combo that left me feeling ready to take on the day. The attentive and friendly staff further enhanced my dining experience, making it one to remember. This place is great value and the food is spectacular. I'm already looking forward to my next brunch outing at Moments Cafe!
Jonathan A — Google review
Food was great, service was superb 👌 There were no kid meals on the menu but they were super happy to adapt any meal into one! My toddler got pancakes, with plastic kids cutlery and it even had sprinkles. It was a huge hit! Even had raving reviews from my teenagers!
Victoria P — Google review
The coffee is really good, and the food is always delicious and warm. The only thing to keep in mind is that it's usually a very busy place, so sometimes it takes a while for food and drinks to come out. If you don't have a time limit, I'd definitely recommend this place.
Jessie — Google review
Finally had a chance to try this cafe! We were not disappointed at all! Great coffee, hot chocolate! We had french toast, eggs Florentine, omelette on toast, dishes were well cooked and tasty! Would go back again soon!
Emilie Y — Google review
A pleasant cafe offering typical breakfast and lunch cafe food, but the additional daily specials and fusion food make it more exciting. Combined you can get everything from your bacon and eggs, cakes and coffee, and some balanced flavour well-presented Asian treats. Service is friendly and the whole experience is casual and comfortable for a meal or relaxed coffee. Dining is indoors on tables or a long communal bar table, parking is available at nearby public street and carpark parking.

Excellent futari wagyu steak with a perfectly cooked potatoes side dish. Scallops were lovely and fresh too. The staff were attentive and friendly. Highly impressed with the overall experience The buffet breakfast was nice also

We recently celebrated my birthday at Alcove and had a truly lovely evening. The food was absolutely amazing — every dish beautifully presented and full of flavour. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, perfect for a special occasion. One small disappointment was that our note about the birthday celebration was missed, and it was only acknowledged as we were leaving. The staff were very apologetic once we mentioned it, and it was clear they felt genuinely sorry for the oversight. Despite that, we thoroughly enjoyed our time and would definitely return. A beautiful spot with exceptional food and kind staff.

Alcove at Joondalup Resort Tucked away inside the serene Joondalup Resort, Alcove offers a refined dining experience with a relaxed, welcoming vibe. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere sets the tone—elegant yet unpretentious, with beautiful seating options both indoors and outdoors. The cocktail menu is well-curated with a great selection to suit all palates, and the staff go above and beyond to make the experience enjoyable. Friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, they add warmth to the overall setting. Food-wise, the gnocchi and steak are absolute standouts—cooked to perfection and plated with care. Each bite reflects attention to detail and quality produce. If you’re looking for a great spot for date night, a relaxed weekend lunch, or a special dinner, Alcove is a top pick in the Joondalup area. Highly recommended.

Delicious food, the waitress was attentive and caring. The entre of char grilled sourdough bread, hummus and olives were amazing. My youngest son loved how the steak tasted and presented. Thanks

Our first time here and definitely not our last. We were there to enjoy a birthday dinner and was surprised by the extra gesture of a sparkler in the dessert with our waitress singing happy birthday and a personalised Happy birthday chocolate decoration. It Was very unexpected but much appreciated for the thoughtfulness, thank you. Our waitress was fantastic, the staff were great, we were never left waiting with empty plates on our table, they were very efficient in bringing out our meals, drinks and also taking all our empty glasses and finished plates away. The food was a strong 9/10. The pork belly was soft and tender and to die for, especially the pumpkin velvet with hints of mint and the jus, I couldn’t get enough! The best pork belly I’ve had to date. followed by Padbury cafe and Pullman bunker bay Resort. I have never been a fan of Tiramisu,EVER! I was hesitant to try my partners dessert, but after his insistence, I tried it and I regretted not getting one for myself. So light and airy and not overly sickly dense. I have been converted to eat their Tiramisu. The foam was absolutely delicious! The Restaurant and atmosphere was classy, warm, cosy and comfortable. It reminded me of the Epicurean at Burswood Casino, even when walking down the staircase towards the pool. The food and service I rate it even better than the current C Restaurant. Prices were reasonable. We were very satisfied for what we paid to what we got. We had some left overs which they gave us takeaway containers. Was still delicious the next day. If this is their consistency throughout, we will happily be returning guests. Thank you to the chefs, barman, our waitress and staff for the good work and service. LGingles

One of the best atmospheres for inside the restaurant and outside that I have experienced. The entree was delicious, juicy olives and homemade ripped ricotta to have over our chargrilled sourdough bread was… divine if I do say so myself. The main I decided on was the Kimberley Barramundi fish. The fish was tasty and not overly fishy, the skin was crunchy and the sauce complimented the fish well but I can’t say the same for the ancient grains. Also gave the lemon lime bitters a go as I do this at every restaurant I go to and this one was good, more on the lemon side and not watered down at all.
Porcupine — Google review
The staff were friendly, and provided us with great service. The food was very tasty - we would especially recommend our entrees which included the sourdough with a creamy ricotta and the beautifully presented octopus. The ambience was nice - not too busy, which made it easy to chat and the view over the alfresco area was perfect. However, my dining chair upholstery did need replacing or a good clean, as it was stained and a bit frayed - not a good look for a beautiful restaurant. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our evening at the Alcove.
