f you are a war history enthusiast like me, you will be enthralled by the sheer amount and variety, of military memorabilia, on show here. Displays are carefully presented over multiple levels and cover a number of military conflicts and campaigns that we Aussies were involved in over many years and theaters. The staff were full of useful knowledge and welcoming energy, too.

Drove from Brisbane just to see the museum and was not disappointed. Very knowledgeable volunteers. The displays were all well set out and definitely worth the trip. Toilets are available and very clean, overall the museum was well presented.

We visited the Maryborough Military & Colonial Museum on the weekend and were pleasantly surprised to find it almost empty. It appears to be run by volunteers, including a lovely old lady and a man who provided us with a wealth of information about the war exhibits. The museum is definitely worth a visit for history enthusiasts. The volunteers' dedication and the informative experience made our visit memorable and enjoyable.

What a fantastic place to go it's one of the best war memorial places I have seen. So much to see. There is a lady who plays the piano while you walk around she is a volunteer and makes the experience even better. All the volunteers have a huge amount of knowledge ask them a question and they will have the answer 👍🏼

Nice small museam dedicated to the military. Not many people there so you get the museum pretty much to yourself. It doesn't take long to browse through so it is worthwhile to drop by if you're just passing through.

Great place to spend a few hours. Plenty to see and read about. Staff were very helpful.

This is a great place to visit with the local pass of the three town attractions for $20 each (adults) the port tastings are great and the easy walk from the military museum and Mary Poppins (both apart of the town pass) makes this a must. Don’t forget to go next door and enjoy a wonderful meal for lunch.

Such a fantastic place with a invaluable step back in time highlighting the history of not only Maryborough but Australia as a fledgling colony. Definitely worth the small entry fee and backed up by the friendly and knowledgeable staff!

Lovely park with separate rustic picnic tables. Food purchase choices limited, a little pricey and of varied cooked outcome.

Stopped in Maryborough randomly on a drive. We stopped at the shop to get some food and then found this park to sit and eat. Kids ran around, seemed well maintained. Right on the river. Like the musical features there too. Kids loved it. Nice spot.

Fantastic park with a huge open grassland space, several walking tracks and lots of statues commemorating those who fought in the war. Very well maintained area and a beautiful war memorial towards the main road. Lovely views over the river too and beautiful for walking. Dogs are allowed on leash and there were plenty of shaded areas under the trees too. Would highly recommend visiting here for a picnic or a short walk.

This is a must see war memorial. So many details covered with a local flavour.

Beautiful park along the Mary River

Must visit stop and along the Mary River Brilliant and well maintained park. Nice place to sit and enjoy the peacefulness. The War Memorial is really nicely done. Well done Maryorough. A few odd charachters about so recommend you watch out for your family but mostly cler of the park crazies.

I always enjoy a stroll through Queen's Park. Very well maintained. Beautiful historic buildings.

Wonderful walk through and local produce

It was not as big as it was years ago, not a lot of veggies stalls.

Great produce and vendors from fruit and veg, German hotdogs to clothing and trinkets etc The town crier is around, the locals, train rides... great fun for young and old Worth the visit so if around on Thursday mornings, pop around

Very poor turnout hardly any shops or stalls, being the lead up to Xmas I thought it would be busy and full of items. Will go back in middle of the month and try again. Lively,Lovely lil town.

Best $5 You will ever spend, great staff/ volunteers at the museum. Just frozen in time as the last owner/ operator intended, good to see many older well know brands on show. Memories of childhood and beyond for older visitors, fascination for any youngster to explore a bygone era store.

Great place to spend an easy hour, very knowledgeable volunteers. You will enjoy this shopping experience frozen in time.

Fantastic ribs nice and juicy, and the slaw on top was to die for 🙂 ill definitely be back for round 2. To top it off was serviced by great staff who provided a welcoming atmosphere. Also tried the pork belly and it was a great dish that definitely had you wanting more

Our waitress, Ellen, was marvellous. She went over and above to make sure we had a beautiful meal and a pleasant evening. Thanks to the chef for cooking up a fresh batch of sticky date pudding which was sensational. Would highly recommend dining here.

Outstanding Experience at The Old Sydney Hotel, Maryborough Had an absolutely fantastic time at The Old Sydney Hotel in Maryborough. The steak was nothing short of perfection – cooked exactly how I like it and full of flavour. Easily one of the best meals I’ve had in town. The service was exceptional from the moment we walked in – friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. You can tell the staff take pride in what they do. The dining room has a lovely, relaxed family atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. Whether you’re there for a casual dinner or a special occasion, it’s the perfect spot. Highly recommend – we’ll definitely be back!

Just wanted to say a special thank you, had over 60 people celebrating pops 80th and we couldn’t have asked for a better lunch. The facility as a whole was nothing less than great. Good was fast and tasted great, especially considering the amount of people that needed accommodating for.

Had a very nice and reasonably priced meal here last night. Very friendly and helpful staff, couldn't fault them. Chef came out personally to describe the Rolly Polly dessert which was absolutely delicious.

We have been chosen to eat here three times in the last month. Two times the lady staff member serving was rude nasty and downright unpleasant to deal with. She get our meals wrong no apology just blames the chef ( dragon in the kitchen) her words. The second time the new lady was lovely our meals were great . This staff member should not be in customer service. Due to this experience we could not enjoy our meals. Thankyou to the owner that made contact with me regarding staff member, and the apology for our terrible service it was really appreciated. I was not complaining about the lady in the bar as I don't drink so had no interactions with her.

They sent our food to the wrong table, then were going to give it to us after the other customers had touched the food. The attendant serving at the bistro was very rude, like she was overworked. The quality of the food was poor considering the cost. Chips were ice cold. Fish was definitely not barramundi it didn't taste very nice. The salad was dry and stale. The ribs were very dry and hard. I ordered the steak medium, it was well done. They probably just swapped the plates and put it in the microwave. The only positive experience was from the blonde woman at the bar, she is always happy and has the best customer service.

Very nicely refurbished. We chose lunch from the specials board. Works Steak Sandwich and chips. Lamb stroganov and rice.

Had dinner and lunch over the last couple of weeks and happy with both, good prices, large meals, friendly staff, no complaints about any of the meals.

The pub itself here is great, feels like a good old qld pub, has a jukebox, pool tables and huge amount of seating. Unfortunately the kitchen was out of action on this occasion. Has a more than ample kids play area also.

Will never eat there again first of all wated for almost 2 hours for our food and its not that they were flat out there was a max of 15 people there atleast 10 have eaten and left and we will still waiting for our food and when we at last receive our food half were burn Curry chicken and rice was cold ,sheff have to heat chicken in Microwave after my wife asked them to heat it up for 30 seconds ,No the girl at counter went and put it in for atleast 4 to 5 minutes,when my wife told her i asked you if you can please put it in for 30 seconds she have the cheek to tel my wife i put it in that long because you would still have complaind is was to cold ,so just a quick question to management do you cook your food and when customers order it you just heat it up??? And still waiting for a phone call from owner,i was there when the bar manager called him . And i am happy to share photos with any one that would like to see it

Make sure you come hungry because the meals are huge!! We were all very happy with our meals, with my favourite being the entree calamari and parmie. Delicious. Great outdoor seating area with comfortable seating, cool breeze and kids playground. Seems popular with the locals as it was busy but the service was still quick.

Pretty average menu, not flexible to suit requests. Ordered something, paid, and 5 minutes later was told it’s not available. Re-ordered something else and only later realized there was quite a price difference so I had to go back up and ask about it. They did refund me. “Chicken tenders” came out as deep fried chicken pieces which were unfortunately way over cooked, on a big stack of chips. I asked for veg and got salad. Just a series of issues that made for a less than desirable experience.

Unexpectedly good. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside is so big and open plan. A really welcoming pub.

Came for a special birthday. Was a busy night but the meals were out in a reasonable time. The meal selection were a mix of modern Australian and Mexican. So enough choice for everyone. Very nice service and meal.

There was no way I could leave a 2 star rating even though lower ratings get ready more, I then realised the lower ratings would effect their overall score so I had to fix it up. this place 100% deserves 5 stars. Loved our lunch today, everything about it deserves five stars including our server Corey who was so helpful. Thank you for the best lunch experience.

We had an amazing night with our family in this beautiful restaurant. The food was 5 star and so was the friendly service. The seafood platters were absolutely delicious as were the entrees and deserts. We will be back! Thank you.

First time in, orders are very promptly taken at your leisure and received in good time. Plenty of seating, toilets available, menu is easy and prices shown are reasonable. Wind blinds are at every area on outside setting. However in some case you may find the suns postion a little annoying at different times, just be aware and staff may help in the case of. Portside may be popular so be prepared for bookings at100% if you just pop in as we did we got lucky as we were early birds for our worm.

Food here is amazing and the position is excellent. The staff seemed to be rushing us a little but otherwise everything was good.

The waiter was super cool and friendly. And the food was amazing. It's definitely a place I will return to and try out something different from the menu 😋 👌

An incrdible little spot to stop in at with so much to see around it. Absolutely incredible food and service from the staff. We got the chili eggs only wanting someone simple and not really expecting much but they really outdid themselves! Beats any brisbane cafe by far. i can’t wait to stop in again!

Louise and Shane the managers were the perfect hosts and they did everything possible to make our stay a pleasant and enjoyable experience. I was greeted by Louise when I went into reception upon our arrival and what a lovely, warm women she is. The rooms were spotless, very spacious and the location is great and very quiet. I would not hesitate to stay there again.

Room was clean but lack of bedside reading lamp was disappointing. We emailed prior to travelling to ask for the best way to get to the motel from the railway station - no response was sent. Reception was mostly unstaffed in advertised hours so that was problematic. Location was good. Will look elsewhere on my next visit.

Great room overlooking the pool area. Comfortable bed and pillows gave a good night's rest. Restaurant and Cafe provided great meals thanks to the chefs. Our hosts were very warm and welcoming with terrific service.

Had a wonderful experience at McNevins Maryborough Hotel. The rooms were spacious, comfortable bed and a mini bar. The grounds were also beautiful and well kept. Would recommend.

Great, friendly place to stay. The best in Maryborough. If you are looking for a quality meal, Sails the onsite restaurant has great food and service. If you are looking for breakfast you can't go past the Cafe for a lovely start to the day. We will definitely be back.

Good quality hotel. Rooms are clean and spacious with good storage space. Staff were friendly. Glassware and cutlery available in the kitchenette. Easy parking in front of your room. Good location.

Stayed here many times over the years. Always welcomed and a pleasure. Good location with the white lion hotel across the road for a decent pub feed.

This place never fails!! Seriously good food, it’s an explosion of flavours!! We got the massaman and the red curry with entrees as well!! Those cheese puffs are exquisite!! Love this place!! New faces today which scared me as I thought it had changed hands but the food was perfect as usual!!

Had 3 dishes so far & they’ve all been tasty & clean - not overly oily nor heavy. Harry’s very friendly & is clearly a pro when it comes to Thai cuisine! Hope I’m in the area for a bit longer - there are too many dishes on the menu I want to try!

Got the beef Laksa with a roti. Sooo sweet, the curry had a layer of oil on the top, the roti bread was not a roti, it was more of an Indian naan than a roti, tasted a little like a pretzel. The Laksa was so sweet, definitely won’t be going back.

Since there is a new management i have become a regular customer and the food and service never disappointed till now, i’ll keep this restaurant in my daily routine as it’s hard to find such taste and service. keep it up for the good customer service 👍

Ordered 4 dishes tonight, expecting the usual Thai food standard, but I was very disappointed. I ordered dim sum (8pcs) — 7 had to be thrown away as they were undercooked, soggy, and tasteless. Singapore noodles also had to be thrown out; they smelled and tasted spoiled, definitely not fresh. The Panang curry and Pad See Ew were okay, but far below expectations. Sadly, I’ll never order from this store again. Ended up driving hungry to KFC just to get something decent to eat.
