A great eco developed walk through this magnificent melaluca and palm forest. All up on boardwalk or stepping stones as to not disturb any further the fragile system which is wetland undisturbed dominated by 10 meters plus grand old paper barks. Thoroughly enjoyed this small 45 minute walk

400m of a flat walk along boardwalks, sandy trails, and fun round cement steps. The paperbark trees are mature and confident in their place. Lots of ferns cover the forest floor and hug the base of trees. The light shifts constantly here with the wind allowing rays of sun to cast through to the lower forest below, an ever changing natural lightshow. Highly enjoyable easy walk.

So enjoyed this little gem! Was a great little family experience. It has a variety of walking ground to not disturb natural growth. Like partial two slate wide board walks and stepping stones through at times water. So it would be wise to be with young ones that are confident walkers the same with elderly. My only negative is, I wish it was longer, I was enjoying it so much! The town itself has many things to offer like cafes and other many natural beauties. A must visit!

Absolutely wonderful place to visit! Grade 3 walking track. 10 minute loop including time to stop and soak up your surroundings while grabbing a few photos.

Good short little walk, very nice Paperbark and Maidenhair fern forest. The stepping stones and boardwalk are great to keep your feet dry and to lessen the impact to the delicate environment. Well worth a visit.

Beautiful walk, albeit very short. It took about 10 minutes. You can even do the loop twice. I loved the paperbark trees and the informative signs about the plants.

This really has a small town museum feel about it highlighting the history of the town and surrounding areas especially the importance of Captain Cook to the area. It isn’t very large and the staff were very friendly and helpful with any questions you may have. There is even a quirky 100 year old orange in their collection. There isn’t a lot to see in Agnes Water so add this to your list if visiting.

What a great museum. $5 entry fee well worth it. Lots of history on Captain Cook & many artefacts to see & read. Wonderful tribute to the six young men who lost their lives in the sinking of the FV Dianne trawler off 1770 in 2017. Highly recommend.

Had a lovely experience, exploring the Agnes Water museum. The staff are so lovely and welcoming. Highly recommend checking it out.

Small but pleasant museum, which was free to enter and contained lots of information on the local history. Staff were very friendly, and it was a nice way to spend 30 minutes.

Don’t miss this fabulous museum if your in town! There’s so much to see and read about the history and Capt Cooks landing here! There is a $5 entry fee for adults only and it’s a wonderful contribution to keep the history alive! Volunteer there today was full of info and lovely to chat too, Thankyou!!

Really good museum, definitely don't miss this cheap gem when in Agnes waters. Easily spent an hour here investigating the history and reading the historic books.

Beach is beautiful, but the area around Agnes has been built up with residential housing & so it's hard to access the beach unless you go to the caravan park where there is limited parking.

The last surf beach before the reef..and what a magnificent pristine stretch of coastline. Dazzling clear azure water. Walk for miles on the soft sand. Sections are dog friendly too (just pick up after both your dog and yourself).

Such a beautiful beach. Not too crowded in the winter. Just the way I like it.

This is definitely a beach for the longboards with a right hand point break that is great for beginners and intermediate surfers. The signs say that stingers may be around from Nov to April but the lifeguards and locals said not to worry about them. It would be a good idea to take some vinegar with you just in case. There are a few parks in the main Carpark but you may need to park a bit further away on a busy day. We visited on a day when the creek broke through one of the sand dunes and sent a wall of water gushing into the ocean. Quite a fascinating thing to see.

Beautiful! Great views, flagged area. If you're not staying right on the beach and need to drive there, you may need to get in early to park as the parking is not great

It's a beautiful beach but disappointed to not be met with stunning blue-green waters. Don't expect what you see in pictures.

This beach is a fairly quiet place. Clean and picturesque. Great surfing beach from around the headland. This is also where you start the Red Rock Trail Hike along the coast line.

Beautiful beach where turtles are nesting. There were nobody there besides two surfers. It's very peaceful place accessable by the Paper Bark boardwalk.

entrance is just opposite the paperbark forest walk and really need a 4-wheel drive to navigate the track to the parking area unless your vehicle has a high wheel base. You might spot native wildlife such as 'roos and kookaburras. There's a boardwalk pathway taking you down to the beach and it's well worth the walk - the beach is pristine and stunning and has shaded areas. Take what you need with you though - water, snacks etc but make sure to bring everything back with you.

Great Walk. Track to the beach is ok going down, coming up is a little strenuous. Walk to Red Rock is a 3 out of 5. Medium. Lots of kangaroos and Goannas. Site are very Aussie Coastal.

Put on your walking shoes, the board walk to the beach - just take a little longer if your not as sure footed as you once were. But so worth it. It's beautiful and wild, and probably have it to your self. Go early if you want to go on the longer walks

Worth the visit as it's a bit of a random spot. Plenty of car spots at the main car park though not as easily accessible for non AWD/SUV/4WD

We didn‘t stay at the campground but came for the feeding. The owner is lovely and can tell you a lot about the kangaroos🦘 with 10$ pp you support him to keep the feeding going on. The kangaroos roam around completely free here and the campground also seemed very lovely with an amazing garden! We got to see the kangaroos in the garden before the feeding. Highly recommend coming here❤️

Outstanding!! Such a lovely and peaceful place. Super clean bathrooms and hot showers. The kitchen is well-equipped and the outdoor area is cozy, with beautiful art. Garry is amazing – so passionate about the kangaroos and full of knowledge about Australia’s history. We got to feed and pet the kangaroos, which was a truly special experience. Highly recommend this unique and heartwarming stay!

Amazing experience. Garry and his wife devote their lives to the care of orphaned and injured kangaroos which is incredibly inspiring. As they grow up/get better, the kangaroos come and go as they please knowing they always have a home at the sanctuary. Because of this interaction, they are not afraid of humans although of course they remain wild animals and are in no way trained for human entertainment, harmed or imprisoned for such purposes. All camp ground fees go to the care of the kangaroos and extra donations are very appreciated. Garry is very knowledgeable about kangaroos and although he has a harsh view on humanity, he's correct on many points. The facilities are excellent and all kitchenware is provided. It's also situated remotely so beautiful views onto both the mountains and the ocean + you can see the stars very well. We highly recommend paying them a visit, best to call before to book a spot!

This was one of the most unique campgrounds we’ve been to so far on our Roadtrip of Australia. We’ve never been so close to so many kangaroos and hearing Gary’s passion for them was lovely. There are powered hookups for campgrounds and stunning views of the surrounding area. Definitely worth visiting and showing some support, thank you horizon kangaroo sanctuary!

I can’t comment on the campsite as I only went in the evening to see the kangaroos being fed. Gary may be a little eccentric but what he doesn’t know about kangaroos isn’t worth knowing. The kangaroos are all free roaming from the area and come right up to the house for food. There are a number of chairs to sit on and under Gary’s guidance you can feed and stroke the kangaroos. They are really amazing creatures and it was a wonderful experience. A bonus were the four peacocks on site! Well worth a visit.

Such a lovely place, highly recommend for a visit Me and my mom found Garrys place asking on chat gpt where we could see some kangaroo in Agnes water and we couldn’t be more happy with our experience. The place is huge, full of kangaroos and peacocks and the sunset was so beautiful

Excellent place! The waitress was very friendly, the atmosphere was super nice, and best of all—the food! We tried three of the tacos, and each one was better than the last. Very generous portions. The fries and the burger were also excellent. 100% recommended.

Decided to come for lunch as we were after a yummy cocktail and something light. Husband and I had the fish tacos and jalepeno poppers. Both were very tasty. We also had a passion fruit margarita and a lychee margarita. The cocktails were great! It is counter service so need to order inside. Overall great experience and dog friendly.

Always enjoy grabbing a bite from here. The pizza options are great! The staff are friendly and accommodating and the range of live music is a blast! I like their surf vibe setup.

It was around 11am so almost no customers in dining area - not a busy time. Ordered eggs benedict. I was disappointed as the eggs were hard poached. Hollandaise sauce was ok. I conveyed my disappointment and was advised that I should have mentioned how I wanted my eggs cooked. I said that I wasn't asked how I wanted my eggs cooked when I placed my order. Staff member said that because I hadn't stated how I wanted the eggs cooked the chef defaults to the hard eggs. Really? Are eggs benedict not meant to be soft poached as the 'default'.... google it. Dear Codie's, Thank you for your reply. You must be mistaking me for another customer as a refund was not offered to me. It was only my hubby and I there, not my entire family. I'm glad that the issue has been rectified for future patrons. Interesting that other customers also complained.

We were at Codies this October. When we arrived my husband ordered drinks. He asked the older lady staff member for a lemon, lime & bitters and the lady rudely pointed at the fridge saying in there. He asked do they make them and she said no. While we were waiting for our food we witnessed another staff member making two customers large lemon, lime & bitters. This one lady staff member who appeared to be in charge was extremely rude to everyone. The other lady with longer dark brown hair was polite, working hard serving everyone. Our food was quite nice but we would never recommend going to such a negative place due to this one ladies rudeness 😢

Grabbed a few pizzas from here recently and overall, pretty happy with it. The vegetarian pizza was seriously good – loads of fresh toppings like cherry tomatoes, grilled peppers, olives, and a nice pile of rocket on top. Super tasty and felt fresh. The garlic bread was also a winner – cheesy, garlicky, and full of flavor. The meat lovers pizza, though, was just alright. Nothing wrong with it, but it didn’t stand out like the others. Kinda basic compared to how good the veggie one was.

Ordered online for pickup, service was friendly and swift. Atmosphere looked great for dine in. We got the Supreme and Potato pizzas, while not the best we've ever had they were pretty bloody good and decent value 👌 Would definitely go back again.

Pizzas are okay. Everything has a mild flavor. Sauce is lacking in tomato flavor, sour, or sweet. Means are nice and crispy but once again there isnt much flavor to them. Good when you need a late eat since they're open the latest. But not much for quality.

Good pizzas. We tried 4 different flavours and the pizzas were cooked well, nice and thin and a good amount of toppings. However, they lacked the flavour you expect from a premium pizza at those prices (salami and sausage pizzas you could barely taste the meat on the pizza and the garlic pizza was a bit dry). Ambience of the restaurant is super cool with heaps of different seating arrangements. Service was also great.

Terrific pizza in Agnes Water! The pizzas here are delicious - super thin crusts topped with quality ingredients. The service is friendly and even though it's busy, you don't have to wait long for your food. BYO for no charge is a plus! No wonder it's so popular!!

Service was excellent and a duo playing was the entertainment. They were pretty busy. Give it a try for yourself but if your a 'foodie' like us, you may find it underwhelming.

If you want elegant food, Drift and Wood is the place to go. Well set out, staff were very pleasant. The food was absolutely superb. I had the steak, it was cooked perfectly, the veges were seasoned really nicely. Definitely be visiting again! 10/10.

Drift & Wood Restaurant is totally one of my favorite eating place in Agnes Water! Chef and proprietor Gracie Sharwood offers a wide range of deliciously prepared, traditional, as well as innovative dishes. The serving sizes are always generous and very satisfying for both food and drinks. The service is exceptional and always with a smile. Fantastic place, where you can still have full service for a very reasonable price. Most recent favorite: Pizza! Gracie has chosen his staff with much care to match his personality, hard work and generosity of spirit, of note, Maddy. Love this place, quiet on days when there is no live music and where you can still have a conversation in a pleasant environment. Very highly recommended!

YOU NEED THE SUNDAY YUMCHA! I am an Asian food fanatic and this was probably the best Asian food I’ve ever had. It’s flavourful, fresh and just perfection. The tea has fresh ginger, the Thai chicken wontons were out of this world with authentic flavour, the steamed pork and red bean buns are the best steamed buns I’ve ever had and I am more satisfied than I’ve been from a meal out in a long time. It was $101 and we got a beer, tea for two and nine Yumcha options. Don’t sleep on this restaurant, everything was divine. The chef took our orders, was friendly and didn’t even write it down, he just remembered. The serving dish’s were super cute as well. I don’t have a bad thing to say. Best experience ever!

This is our favourite place to dine in Agnes! Consistently great and generous servings. Gracie is a fabulous chef and his home made jams and relishes always come home with us! Exceptional service by Maddy....cant wait to go back next week!

We had an excellent dining experience last night, my wife said her vegetarian pasta was one of the best that she's ever had . I had the chorizo and prawn pasta washed down with a local tap beer also Delicious...We highly recommend dining there and are going back tonight for the live music 🎶 thankyou to all the staff.

We had the most amazing time last Saturday night for my 50th at the Tavern. The managers and staff were amazing. Before the event they made sure we were situated in the perfect spot. And even emailed me other people that may help with my event. And during the night they made sure everything ran smoothly. It was the best night. Thank you guys.

Large dining area. Indoor & outside. Wide range ofvdishes on menu. Casual place, main bar has a large number of screens. Displaying all kinds of sporting events, & access to betting & gambling , Food was excellent. Speedy service. We visited on a Tuesday l, & benefitted from 'cheap Tuesday'.

We have been going to the tavern for 4 years and always shared a meal as the portion sizes were too big for one person and the amount of food wasted would be so depressing for the chef. On Sunday night we ordered the grilled barramundi which was much smaller than previously ordered but still the same price. The barramundi was dry, the tiny salad had a brown sauce that resembled diarrhoea on it, the chips were overcooked and yet you still had the audacity to charge $34. Happy you've stopped wasting so much food but you can't halve the portions and charge the same price that's called ripping people off. There's plenty of other places to eat and drink in Agnes where the staff don't look miserable and the food is great and priced accordingly. Get your act together Agnes Water Tavern you're embarrassing us and making the town look bad.

We tried the Tuesday night steak special and it was spot on – perfectly cooked, great portion size, and only $20. The place was nearly full, and our meals came out in about 40 minutes, which seemed pretty reasonable.

Absolutely delicious and freshest seafood, I got a dozen oysters, 1kg prawns and some fish. Highly recommend, The lady who served me was lovely also.

Best tasting and freshest seafood we have had in a long time. We are harsh seafood critics and this place ticks every box. Customer service so friendly, seafood so fresh, packaged in cryovac bags for travel and priced well. Do yourself a favour and try them for awesome flavour.

The fish was fresh and tasted good, however it needs a proper price board as not all prices are indicated. My only negative comment was about the price, which was very high, even considering the freshness and that it's mostly locally sourced. RESPONSE TO THE OWNER: you might have the pricing on the boards now, but you didn't have them more than one year ago when I wrote the review!
