Sights & Landmarks
Split Point Lighthouse Tours offer a chance to explore the iconic Split Point Lighthouse, perched on a headland along the magnificent coast. The lighthouse was erected in the 1890s above the cliffs of Aireys Inlet to prevent shipwrecks, and since then, there have been no incidents in this area. Visitors can take a grand tour of this marine masterpiece and climb its coiling cast iron staircase to savor breathtaking views from the top.
What a terrific experience not only for the adults but also for the kids! The staff at the bottom and the top of the lighthouse were full of information, and we were really impressed how they included and engaged with the kids. We had terrific weather, so the view from the top was breathtaking! It's definitely worth the 130+ stair climb! Back down on the ground, there are a couple of lookouts that are again worth the walk. We were lucky enough to see a seal enjoying the water while we were there. If you're on the great ocean road, this is a must to add to your list!

Just incredible ocean and land views. Well worth the small fee to go up the lighthouse - it is stunning and interesting to learn about its history. A lighthouse that still works! Kind staff and just overall a great experience.
Fiona L — Google review
The lighthouse and the surrounding ocean are such a beautiful sight to see! • A short, easy hike to explore the area • Well-maintained paths leading to scenic viewpoints • Benches available on the viewing deck • Relaxing, peaceful, and wonderfully picturesque!

Visiting Split Point Lighthouse was a fantastic experience, especially for fans of the classic TV show *Round the Twist*. Seeing the iconic lighthouse in person brought back a wave of nostalgia, and it’s even more impressive up close than it appears on screen. The structure is beautifully maintained and stands proudly against the stunning coastal backdrop of Aireys Inlet. One of the highlights of our visit was the guided tour. The volunteers on duty were incredibly friendly, approachable, and full of fascinating information about the lighthouse’s history and operation. They were more than happy to answer questions and shared many interesting stories about how the lighthouse functioned in the past. Their passion and knowledge made the visit even more engaging. The cost of the tour is very reasonable — $12.50 for adults and $11 for kids — and well worth it for the experience. Climbing to the top is a bit of a workout, but completely manageable, and the reward is absolutely worth it. The panoramic views from the top are breathtaking, offering sweeping vistas of the rugged coastline and sparkling ocean below. It’s a perfect spot for photos and a moment to take in the natural beauty of the Great Ocean Road. Split Point Lighthouse is more than just a historic site — it’s a fun and educational outing for families, couples, and history buffs alike. Highly recommended for anyone passing through the area. We’ll definitely be returning next time we’re nearby.

Childhood nostalgia unlocked. Those who remember the old Australian TV show Around The Twist, know exactly what this lighthouse is. Pay the money, climb the stairs and you'll do yourself a great favour. The views are amazing and honestly the best. Parking is pretty easy. Just make sure you park not in someone's driveway and a nude my local parking laws.
Ray — Google review
It was an amazing experience, especially if you haven't been inside a lighthouse before. The view was spectacular and it is a must see if you stop by in aireys inlet. However, it is a paid experience.

This is our favourite beach in summer when conditions are favourable sunny, with low wind. Amazing views with great parking on side of the road and easy beach access. On epic summer days a great time with friends and family

This is 6 km long Beach and is the longest beach on the Great Ocean Road. It's a popular surf beach and It offers golden sands, crystal-clear waters, and a picturesque landscape, making it a favorite spot for beachgoers. Be very careful with the fish rods and there wires while you are walking on beach, very hazardous and can cause injury, not all people have common sense.

Perhaps, in the intetests of the artists, avoid talking with the owner. Mansplaining the Problem with Retail, and when i took a breath to respond literally holding up a finger and saying "I know what you are going to say." wasn't remotely respectful. As a woman of 63, I've lived throuhh this stuff since the 1970s. Not having it on a holiday weekend.

Pretty little creek to canoe along. Allow a few hours if you want to do the whole thing up and back, or, just paddle in the inlet. We saw roos, and lots of birds. Distant view of the lighthouse. The creek appeared popular with fishermen, but what they caught, if any, is a mystery.

Pizza restaurant
The Captain of Aireys is a charming restaurant located in Aireys Inlet, offering wood-fired pizza and other Italian specialties. The eatery is named after Carl J. Carlgren, a beloved sea captain from the village's history. Visitors can enjoy delicious pizzas such as Pork and Pear or Chorizo and Prawns with well-thought-out toppings and excellent bases. The staff are known for their wonderful service, adding to the delightful dining experience.
Dec 24: Good reviews on Google and it didn’t disappoint. Staff were all smiles and the pizzas was lovely. But we won’t be back as we live in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 highly recommend ❤️
Martin — Google review
Just wow. Probably the best pizza dough I have ever had. The Captain only does pizzas, which is a stroke of genius because they do them incredibly well. We ordered the Veggies patch, Lemon and Garlic prawn and the Captain. They were all divine. Very fresh ingredients, prawns were large and cooked well. The ham was not overly salty and processed. The garlic and parmesan loaf was also delicious. Staff are just wonderful.
Olga S — Google review
Had a lovely dinner at The Captain of Aireys during our Great Ocean Road getaway. The atmosphere was warm and relaxed, perfect for an evening by the coast. We were amazed by their Woodifred pizza — perfectly crisp base, smoky wood-fired flavor, and just the right balance of toppings. Simple, fresh, and absolutely delicious. A must-visit spot in Aireys Inlet for good food and great vibes! Follow our adventures at @aussie.indian.adventures for more local finds.

Fantastic pizza. Fresh, tasty and well seasoned. Great chew to the dough, sauce was excellent, great ingredients. Salad was also spot on. Lots of veggo options as well. Service was excellent and vibe in the restaurant was very nice. Highly recommended if you are passing through.

I tried the Sweet Tate pizza and it was absolutely delicious – perfectly balanced flavors and cooked just right! The highlight of my visit, though, was the service. The lady who looked after us was amazing – friendly, welcoming, and made the whole experience even better. Great food and even better hospitality. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Probably the best wood fire pizza we've ever had. Ingredients were fresh and tastful while keeping the true traditional style of real Italian pizza alive. Lovely service by owners and great atmosphere. Our kids inhaled theirs and my wife and I wanted more. Well done and compliments to the chef. Will return and highly recommend.

One of the best pizza places we’ve tried ! The wood fired pizzas were just perfectly charred, they tasted smoky and the toppings complemented the overall taste. Pub
Aireys Pub is a charming bistro offering classic meals in a cozy, rustic setting complete with fireplaces, stone walls, and deck seating. Established in 1904, this iconic pub was so beloved by locals that nine of them pooled resources to purchase it when it closed in 2011. Recently renovated with a beer garden boasting ocean views, the pub hosts live music every Friday and Saturday during the summer.
The Aireys Pub is a great spot for lunch, dinner and drinks and offer an outdoor alfresco so you can bring your pets along. The service was very efficient and the food was what you’d expect from a good pub with reasonable prices. The atmosphere is great and in the winter lovely fireplaces to huddle by. In a great location walking distance from the Aireys Inlet Big4 caravan park where we stayed. Would visit and enjoy a meal again. Our Chow Chow was also posted on Instagram as ‘Customer of the Week”.😊🥘🍝🥩

Have been comming here for years. This venue is amazing and always kept in great condition. With the addition of pool table, fire place with guitar hanging on wall, kids area and a large outdoor space for running around or kicking the ball with your kids is sensational. The food and drink selection is second to none and plenty of inside and outside options to be seated. Also dogs are welcome! One of my favorite spots to venture to on a weekend!

Our first time here and what a great place to eat. 5 stars is not enough to rate them they should get 10 stars. The food was great and very fresh the service was fantastic. maybe they should get Michelin ratings instead oh and we went back 2 nights ago for some desert because we couldn't fit it the first night at dinner. Great job to all at this wonderful pub and keep it up.

Restaurant
A La Grecque is a vibrant restaurant with a verandah and an open fireplace, offering inventive Greek cuisine. The menu includes mouth-watering options like grilled rack of lamb and spring greens, accompanied by local Pinot. The restaurant provides a spacious and welcoming atmosphere with attentive service and farm-to-table cuisine, making it ideal for special occasions. Guests can savor classic Greek dishes such as Kefa cheese with sweet fig, along with the freshest seafood.
Oh, how I love A La Grecque! From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, I knew our family would be well taken care of. It’s rare to have such a perfect dining experience, especially on a 3hr+ road trip. Every dish was just to my liking, beautifully cooked and perfectly seasoned. The grilled kefalogravieria was outstanding, and we definitely could have ordered more of the basmati rice (I couldn’t find it on the online menu and forgot its exact name!). Even the asparagus was cooked perfectly. To the team at A La Grecque, you truly deserve the highest compliments. Thank you for an amazing meal!
Josy N — Google review
Fantastic Greek restaurant you must try! The restaurant itself is beautiful inside with that Mediterranean vibe. There is ample seating outside. The staff were friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. The dishes themselves were packed with that delicious, fresh, quality ingredients. The cocktail menu has some very nice choices, mixed and infused with iconic Greek flavours. While the food and ambiance are top-notch, the prices are steep. The lamb with pita would also benefit from a nice scoop of tsatziki sauce. 👌🏼
Stan V — Google review
Not the best Greek I’ve had. Menu didn’t say the chicken was deep fried/crumbed. Atmosphere was weird because there was a wedding on. Spanakopita was a bit greasy and pumpkin dish was nothing special. Great wine.
Ellie M — Google review
Perfect lunch on a cold day. Great portions and sharing sizes. Kids loved it. Best steak and salads I have had in a long while. Well priced and fantastic customer service. Well done team!
Otis P — Google review
Loved the Greek evidence, blue & white china, white wash, boss man talking loudly on the phone with hand gestures, tzatziki, baklava & ouzo, and all generations enjoying lunch. A colder day had the fire place lit. A menu of traditional offerings plus more, many suited to sharing. Spanakopita with labneh, had crisp filo and creamy filling. Slow cooked lamb on pita, ticked the box for really tasty. The fried local calamari was the awesomeness of the day. Thin strips including tentacles was so fresh & full flavoured, matched perfectly with tzatziki. Best I’ve eaten in a very long time. A dish that dictates a return visit, and sharing needs a rethink. Affogato finished off a wonderful meal, great service at what was evidently a local favorite. Make a booking & let your taste buds do a happy dance.

What a great place! We were only in Airey's Inlet for one night, and are pleased we chose A La Grecque. The food was sensational, the staff were friendly, funny, and helpful, and the atmosphere buzzing. I would love to return for a long lunch on that terrific deck.

Cafe
The Onda Food House is a fantastic brunch spot with a diverse menu that caters to vegans. The dishes, such as the Cajun tofu scramble and Mexi bowl, are generously portioned, so much so that some patrons need to take leftovers home. The highlight of the experience is the mocha, which is perfectly smooth in texture. Additionally, there is a tempting display of vegan desserts available for next time.
We walked from the parking area and found the cafe entrance at the end of the building. It was a dog-friendly place, and there were many dogs sitting outside. My coffee was just okay, but my sons' soy chais were excellent – really flavorful with lots of spice.
Asano ( — Google review
God, what a super healthy and awful tasting food! We ordered the Cajun tofu super bowl, which was bland to the max, and the other greens with sourdough bread, which was also extremely heathy, and superbly bland. The fresh juices are really good and delicious. Coffee was great. Staff can't handle pressure- it was Melbourne cup holiday and they were busy. A request to wipe the table, which some other patrons left in a dire state, resulted in a terse response, " we're busy". Ugh! Not a good look folks! You're in a service business.
Raj M — Google review
Great breakfast option in Aireys Inlet, good came quickly and I loved my yogurt bowl with buckwheat granola and fruit. My husband enjoyed his eggs Benedict and almond croissant too. The chai latte was ok, not sweet enough though, wouldn’t order it again and rather go with a coffee. Otherwise really good and would recommend.

Onda Cafe is my absolute favourite coffee spot on the coast...it's always on point. The relaxed vibe, gorgeous views of the river and grass reserve, and its prime location just steps from the beach and lighthouse make it a go-to. Great food, great coffee, great energy. Love this place.
Angie J — Google review
Brunch here was fantastic. They have a decent menu with a nice variety of dishes catering for vegans as well. We had the Cajun tofu scramble and Mexi bowl. Portions were very generous, i had to opt for takeaway of the half I couldn't finish (was still good by lunch time). We also had the mocha, which to me was the highlight! It was perfect and so smooth in texture. They also have a lovely selection of vegan desserts in the display section and would certainly try next time we're in town.

Absolutely loved my experience at Onda. Stopped in on my road trip down the Great Ocean road. Food, service and atmosphere were great. I got the halloumi stack and the immunity juice which were both delicious. Will be back!
THAT L — Google review
Good hidden away gem. You can easily view Onda Food House on the bend on Great Ocean road when heading towards Melbourne as you come into Aireys Inlet. If you are heading away from Melbourne you will find Onda on the exit of Aireys Inlet (Lower group of Shops), though it is more tucked away around the corner in the group of shops in its location. Park in the carpark, you won't see Onda, until you walk (30meters) around the corner, there are signs given directions. Layout is good with inside outside seating. Was not very busy mid morning when we arrived on a quietish weekend, but could see it fill quickly in summer time or busy weekend periods. Three rounds of breakfast, Avo on toast, Eggs Benedict with extra cooked tomatoes, poached eggs with bacon. (Sorry no pics of poached eggs) All presented, well and good size meals. All three eaten in a timely manner for how good the meals were. The results clean plates - sign of good meals. See attached images. On the side, and important to compliment the meals - flat white coffee in a mug, Cafe Latte coffee in a mug and Ice chocolate drink. Nothing worse in my opinion if coffee is not good, it's like you are having half a meal. The person that made our coffee on this morning was right on point. Coffees were not too hot or not too cold. Just right that you could drink the coffee and taste it. So good, ordered a second Caffe Latte in a mug and was made by the same lady. The second was as good as the first. Good coffee technique. Well done Ice Chocolate drink, also on point. You want it to be chocolately and tasty, which it was. Yep recommend Onda if you are in Aireys Inlet or passing through. It's a small town, good to support local businesses. Worth our time for the meals and would stop by again.

Nestled along the picturesque Great Ocean Road in Aireys Inlet, Little Feast is a culinary gem that promises an unforgettable dining experience. This charming eatery offers a diverse menu featuring an array of small plates and sides, perfect for sharing or indulging solo. Guests rave about the grilled prawns and tender beef ribs, while the cauliflower salad impresses with its delightful textures and flavors. love it, from the decor and the feel of the place to the service and menu. It's not an extensive dinner menu but it has enough. great share food in a really casual environment but with real service. not fussy but fast and attentive, something that is hard to find in some beach side establishments. The food is fresh and uncomplicated. A real winner for me, has become my restaurant of choice in the area. Great job guys, please keep it up, i will be back...lots.

Food was incredible! Loved all the sharing food that came out. Highlight dishes, lamb ribs, beef carpaccio and calamari. Unfortunately needs something to control the noise as it is very difficult to hear the other people on your table once the restaurant got busy. Nice art on the wall for purchase too! Would return in the future for sure!

Sensational food! We tried a variety of small meals and sides and all were exceptional. The grilled prawns were my favourite, the dumplings and saganaki were delicious and my partner loved the beef ribs - the most tender meat ever! The cauliflower salad had great texture and flavours and the dessert especially the charcoal ice cream was die for! We will be back for sure, so many things to try yet. Staff also lovely...there if you needed them, but not pushing you or your meals through. Very relaxed atmosphere, sensational food and great decor.

Thank-you Little Feast for hosting the wedding on 12 December at your room upstairs. We felt welcome and looked after from the moment we arrived. The entree was plentiful and of great taste, the main meal was served within a great timeframe and we could not have asked for a more flavoursome meal, enjoyed by all. The two young ladies, working in the bar added to the success of the night with their helpfulness, great manners and product knowledge. Once again thank you and we will be back, from the father of the bride.

Quality chef-owned restaurant with a wide variety of meals. Enjoyed subtle curry of the day, Mexican bowl and baclava. Best coffee and you can trust the ingredients are top notch. Good value and spacious setting. Support this restaurant unless you want inferior offerings or just boring poached eggs etc to be your only options. I rate this place close to my favourite, Al a Grece.
