The Govindaraja Swamy Temple, situated just 20 km away from the renowned Venkateshwara Temple, is a significant pilgrimage site for Vaishnavites in Tirupati. This architectural marvel showcases stunning Dravidian architecture and hosts elaborate rituals daily, attracting numerous devotees. Visitors often describe the temple's serene ambiance and intricate carvings as awe-inspiring.
Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple in Tirupati is truly a divine and peaceful place that I highly recommend every devotee or visitor to experience at least once. Located within a walkable distance from Tirupati Railway Station, this temple is easily accessible and ideal for those arriving by train. Dedicated to Lord Govindaraja, who is believed to be the elder brother of Lord Venkateswara, the temple holds immense spiritual significance. The atmosphere inside is calm and serene, providing a perfect setting for peaceful prayer and reflection. The architecture of the temple is impressive, with towering gopurams and intricate carvings that tell stories from ancient scriptures. One of the best aspects is that mobile phones are not allowed inside, which really enhances the spiritual experience. A free and secure mobile deposit counter is available near the entrance, so you can focus fully on your darshan without distractions. As soon as you enter the temple street, it feels like a festival – with plenty of shops selling flowers, prasadam, fruits, toys, and devotional items. It’s a vibrant, colorful area full of energy and devotion. The darshan of Lord Govindaraja is absolutely mesmerizing – His majestic idol captivates your heart and mind instantly. Don't miss the free anadhanam (meal service) offered at around 1 PM – it’s well-organized and serves tasty food to hundreds of devotees daily. Overall, Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple is a must-visit – not just for its religious importance, but for the unique blend of spiritual bliss, culture, and tradition it offers. A highly recommended experience in Tirupati!

Sri Govindharaja Swamy Temple in Tirupati is a breathtaking 12th-century marvel, renowned for its grand Dravidian-style gopuram and vibrant spiritual atmosphere. Founded by the legendary saint Ramanujacharya, this temple’s rich history as a guardian of sacred traditions and its impressive architecture make it a must-visit in Tirupati. The serene deity of Lord Govindharaja Swamy, believed to bring prosperity and peace, welcomes all with an aura of divine grace, while annual festivals and daily rituals bathe the temple in devotion, color, and celebration—making every visit a truly enchanting experience. This grand temple is home to many other revered deities, making it a must-visit spiritual haven. Visitors are also blessed by the temple’s friendly elephant stationed at the entrance, which is considered very auspicious and adds a unique, memorable touch to the experience

It's an devine place for Hindu's. We have visited around 8.40. The temple entry was closed. Only ekantha seva was about to start. It will be from 9pm to 9.30pm. it was really a super56 and awasome experience. We have waited for almost 30 min. But kind of darshan was really thrilled us. It's an different experience. Thanks to TTD. @ttd you can maintain this place even better than what it is. You are named for clean and hygiene. Thanks you

Temple timings aren't know to all, found one board near the ticket counter sharing the same here, it was closed when we visited around 6 pm . There was a nice devine procession in the premises, took few pictures, staff at the ticket counter and mobile collection counter are brutally arrogant as many ask same questions because there are no clarity on information on darshan timings as well as counter opearting hrs. Like many other temples in North they should open few authorized mobil phone collecting shops to ease the crowds at the single counter managed by the temple.

5/5 – A Peaceful and Historical Temple in the Heart of Tirupati Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple is a must-visit if you are in or around Tirupati. It is one of the oldest temples in the city, built in the 12th century and beautifully maintained by TTD. The temple has a calm and divine atmosphere, perfect for peaceful darshan without heavy crowds like in Tirumala. The architecture is stunning, with detailed carvings and a majestic gopuram. Early morning darshan (around 6 AM) is the best time to visit for a peaceful experience. The temple is very close to Tirupati Railway Station, making it easy to access. The place is clean, staff is helpful, and the entire visit feels spiritually uplifting. You also get tasty Laddu Prasadam after darshan. If you’re starting your journey to Tirumala, visiting this temple first is highly recommended. ✅ Peaceful vibes ✅ Beautiful architecture ✅ Easy to reach ✅ Less crowded ✅ Spiritually fulfilling Highly recommended for all devotees and tourists! 🙏

One of the prominent temple in tirupati town , a must go place Please be mind full of the crowde. Temple is clean but crowde management is not upto the mark. You can opt for quick darshana which will cost 20 rupees which is available near the temple if you are in a hurry.

The Shri Govindaraja Swami 🙏Temple 🛕is a spiritually significant temple located in the heart of Tirupati city. Just a walkable distance from the railway station🛤️, making it easily accessible for all. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu , here as govind Raja Swami. The main Deity is in a unique reclining Yoga Nidhra posture, facing east with his right hand under his head and his left hand, resting straight over his body. At his feet, sit his divine consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi. Interestingly, some texts mention Govindarajaswamy as the elder brother of Lord Venkateswara, whose main temple is also located in Tirupati. 🔑 for a smoother and faster, Darshan visitors can option for a ₹50 tickets which offers quicker Darshanam. 🔑Please note that mobile phones are not allowed inside the temple. However, deposit counters are conveniently located at the entrance to safely store your devices before entering.

The ISKCON Temple in Tirupati is a stunning Krishna temple adorned with an elaborate, gilded facade and towering entrance gate. It provides a peaceful haven for meditation and spiritual practices, offering dedicated spaces for inner reflection and guided meditation sessions. The temple is part of the global network of ISKCON temples, aiming to promote Bhakti Yoga and the teachings of Lord Krishna.
🛕 ISKCON Temple, Tirupati – A Peaceful Spiritual Experience The ISKCON Temple in Tirupati, also known as Sri Sri Radha Govinda Mandir, is a serene and beautiful spiritual destination located on the way to Alipiri (the starting point of the Tirumala Hills). Peaceful, well-maintained, and spiritual environments with beautiful architecture and devotional singing. Visitors often praise the temple's cleanliness. The vegetarian food served there.
Manas S — Google review
I recently visited the ISKCON Temple in Tirupati and honestly, I left with mixed feelings leaning more towards disappointment. While the temple itself is beautiful in architecture and grandeur, the overall atmosphere felt more commercial than spiritual. From the moment you enter, you are constantly nudged towards donation counters, book stalls, and prasad shops rather than being allowed to quietly connect with the divine. The focus seems heavily tilted towards generating revenue, with too much emphasis on selling products and promoting programs. The peace and meditative environment I expected was often interrupted by announcements and sales-like approaches, which took away from the serenity of worship. Even darshan felt rushed, as though it was part of a transaction, not a soulful experience. The temple staff appeared more concerned with managing the flow of money and visitors rather than guiding them spiritually. For a place meant to uplift the soul, the commercialization was a big letdown. Though ISKCON has done great work globally, this particular branch in Tirupati felt more like a spiritual marketplace than a sanctuary. If you’re seeking a deep, divine connection, this may not fulfill your expectations.

The ISKCON Temple in Tirupati, also known as Sri Sri Radha Govinda Mandir, is a peaceful and spiritually vibrant place located near Alipiri, the foothill of Tirumala. Managed by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, this temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna and Radha. The calm surroundings, divine chants of the Hare Krishna mantra, and melodious bhajans create a soothing atmosphere for visitors. HARE KRISHNA ❤️🙏🏽 The ISKCON temple in Tirupati may be small, but it is incredibly beautiful and serene. The idols of Lord Krishna and Radha, along with other gopikas, are exquisitely crafted and so captivating that two eyes aren’t enough to take in their divine beauty. Visiting at night adds to the peaceful and spiritual ambiance. The sambar rice prasadam served here is delicious and a must-try for every visitor. Fortress

Chandragiri Fort, a historic 11th-century stronghold located in the Chittoor district, offers visitors a glimpse into the region's rich past. The fort served as a refuge for Vijayanagar royalty and later became part of British governance. Today, it houses an archaeological museum and hosts an evening light and sound show that vividly portrays the royal lifestyle through 3D holography effects.
Located in a remote village from tirupati, no bus stops ,railway station Or auto stand near by.. You better go by a cab or auto as round trip and ask the driver to wait to pick you up. One small tea shop is there opposite to fort, no other hotels or canteens near by., closing time is 5.00 pm you may stay up to 5.30 or 6.00 pm in some days. Raja fort is converted to museum and rani fort is empty . Rainwater harvesting pond from mountain is a very beautiful place and some remnants of statues and old buildings also there. Apart from fort • Temple outside the fort •The fort entrance • The hill •The scaffold at the top of the hill Can be viewed. Overall a must visit place for history lovers.

Entry fee - 30rs...it is such a historical place dates back to 1000 AD built by Vijayanagara dynasty king Immadi Narasimha Yadava Rayala... This fort consists of two Mahals ( buildings) named Raja Mahal & Rani Mahal. Raja Mahal is now using as Museum consisting lot of historical exhibits related to that period from various places. Management are not allowing to go top of the hill which have remains of historical elements due to security purposes.

Nothing much to see here! There is a small museum with a few sculptures of some deities, and there is a small pond. Other than these nothing else. Ticket cost is ₹30 per head. If you are travelling from a faraway place, then keep in mind that there is nothing to see of much importance! Not allowed to climb the hill also for security reasons.

A wonderful place to explore Andhra Pradesh’s rich history. The fort is well-maintained, and the Raja Mahal turned museum is impressive with artifacts and sculptures from the Vijayanagara period. You can feel the grandeur of the empire here. Peaceful atmosphere, great for a half-day visit. Entry fee is minimal. Highly recommend if you’re in or around Tirupati.

Such a cool spot to check out near Tirupati! This was King Sri Krishnadevaraya's fort, and the old palace looks amazing. It was the perfect way to spend this holiday afternoon. But for real, the best part is the little stalls outside. You HAVE to grab some of the local fruits they're selling so fresh and tasty! It was a great snack after walking around. Totally recommend it for a quick trip back in time!

Wildlife and safari park
Sri Venkateswara Zoological Park, located in the lush Yadadri hill ranges outside Tirupati, is a sprawling 5,533-acre zoo that offers an exciting experience for families and wildlife enthusiasts. Modeled after Nehru Zoological Park, it features a diverse range of exotic animals such as white tigers and offers a unique lion safari experience.
One of the most worthwhile zoological parks to visit. Entry Fee: ₹70 per person Car Entry Fee: ₹700 The best way to explore the park is by car. They also offer safari drives at ₹70 per person, where a van takes you close to lions. It’s recommended to visit in the morning hours and plan to spend at least half a day to enjoy the full experience.

Great attraction. The park is preserved and maintained well. The staff are friendly. The kids enjoyed the lion safari. There were 3 lions inside the enclosure and 2 lionesses outside. The driver took us up close to the animals for viewing. The tigers and elephants were majestic as well. Overall spent like 3 hrs inside the park.
Ravi K — Google review
Visited Sri Venkateswara Zoological Park in Tirupati — it’s spacious and surrounded by greenery. The zoo has a decent collection of lions, tigers, deer, and birds, and the safari ride is enjoyable. However, it’s spread across a large area, so walking without a battery car can be tiring. Some enclosures look poorly maintained and a few zones feel empty. Food and refreshment options are very limited inside. Tickets are reasonably priced, but extra charges apply for safari and vehicles. Overall, a peaceful place for families and nature lovers, but needs better upkeep.
My N — Google review
Sri Venkateswara Zoological Park was established in 1987 and was officially opened to the public on April 30, 1993. The park is situated within the larger area of the Sri Venkateswara Wildlife Sanctuary. While the zoo is not within UNESCO Seshachalam Hills Biosphere Reserve it shares the ecological context of the Seshachalam Hills. The biggest Zoological Park in Asia in terms of area, it was officially recognised by Central Zoo authority in 2017 as ‘Large Category Zoo’. It houses 1029 animals -31 species of mammals, 46 species of birds and 7 species of reptiles. There is open butterfly park, reptile’s enclosures, aviary as well as Water birds’ enclosure. For a large park of this size the visitor amenities are very good. Well maintained and clean Toilets, drinking water facilities, Canteens, Benches and Sitting areas make visit hassle free. The roads are well maintained too as are the pathways around the enclosures. Wheel chairs are also available near the main entrance. Entry ticket costs Rs.70 for adults and Rs.30 for children. Four wheelers are allowed inside and entry ticket is Rs.750. Video Camera charge is Rs.200. Battery vehicle for 90 minutes is Rs.70. Lion Safari is Rs. 50 for adults for 30 minutes. E Cycle is Rs.50 per hour. Bicycle can be hired for Rs.25 per hour. There is ample parking space for visitors
Vikas S — Google review
We recently visited the place with our kids, the day after having darshan of Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy. It turned out to be a pleasant experience, especially for children. This is quite large and easy to explore. You can walk, ride a bicycle, use an electric or battery vehicle, or even drive your own car inside. This makes it very convenient for families with kids. Entry Fees: Adults: ₹70 Kids: ₹30 Car entry (includes 1 adult): ₹750 Lion Safari: ₹50 per adult, ₹30 per child Other transport options are available inside and are charged based on vehicle type. Animals and Attractions: This is not a typical zoo with many animals. There are only a few birds and animals, so if you are expecting a wide variety, you might be disappointed. But if you are looking for a enjoyable place for your kids, this place is a good choice. You can spend 2–3 hours here, and children will enjoy the open space and the animals they get to see. Best Time to Visit: It is best to visit early in the morning or in the evening when animals are more active. During hot afternoons, most animals rest in the shade and may not be visible. Food and Snacks: There are food stalls inside, but it is better to carry your own snacks and water, especially if you prefer cleaner or healthier options for your kids. Final Thoughts: The highlight of the visit was seeing our kids smile and get excited. Their happiness made the trip totally worth it. Namaste & Jai Hind.

One of the best zoo out of 3 places that I have visited. Firstly it was covered with lot of greenery and animals looks healthy. They maintained it really well and supportive staff. 5 Stars for below options a. Option to use own car inside l, if reqd driver will be available (ofcourse you have to pay ) b. Option to leverage battery car 🚗 c. Option to opt for Battery two wheeler, this is brilliant move from team bcoz it gives us very special time and can enjoy every bit. KUDOS TO ZOO TEAM. Overall its the best zoo in my view, although it has little less species its still fine 🙂

Venkateswara Zoological Park offers a peaceful escape, with the main highlight being the safari ride. There seen lioness, lion, leapord, few peacocks, birds(liked mostly)sloth bear, hippopotamus, python, elephants (liked mostly),bisons, several variants of deers, wild dog, some of monkeys etc.... The safari is the most exciting part, giving you a close-up view of lions, deers, bisions and other wild animals in a more natural setting. However, the rest of the zoo has very few animals, which might leave some visitors wanting more. Great for a one-time visit, especially if you're interested in the safari experience

Delicious food and awesome ambience makes it a great place to hangout..! Loved the chicken dum Biryani, chaats, malabar fish curry and many more..! Wanted to try this giving a pass to Mayura ( my all time fav in Tirupati), but, Zodiac didn’t disappoint, if you are game to try all sorts of dishes, go for the buffet..! Buffet is not worth at all. The taste , quality and the variety of the food doesn't justify paying 1300₹ per person. We went after seeing so many good reviews on trip advisor. Would never do same mistake again.

We went to Zodiac just like that hungry at around 10.30pm at night. We were 9 people so I guess that's the reason they allowed us a table so late. We were amazed to see the courteous service by the staffs who were very warm and up to their task. We loved the North Indian food so much that we went again to have lunch a day later. But this time the service was nothing compared to the last time. The food was good enough though the service is something they need to look into. They set a benchmark last time and let us disappointed the other. The restaurant is poolside so you can have food alongside the swimming pool or inside in the AC. Food definitely recommended.

I visited here for my breakfast. I ordered Ghee dosa and filter coffee. The food is good. I also ordered a take away Butter Masala Dosa for my father. When I returned to my hotel, there was no masala, no chutney, etc. I don't know what kind of circus they are running. The staff are just pretending to work hard but in reality, they are not. They are polite but don't understand how to take instructions and provide basic services. I feel the management should audit their own hotel and restaurant to see if the staff is actually working or just pretending to be busy and pushing their tasks to others.

The decor was modern and sleek, with comfortable seating arrangements. *Food* The buffet spread was vast and impressive, with a wide variety of dishes to suit every palate. The highlights for me were: - The BBQ starters, which were cooked to perfection and served hot off the grill. - The vegetarian and non-vegetarian main courses, which offered a range of flavors and textures. - The desserts, which were decadent and delicious. *Service* The service was top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who ensured that our glasses were always full and our plates were never empty. *Value for Money* Considering the quality and quantity of food, I found the prices to be very reasonable. *Overall Experience* BBQ Nation is a must-visit for anyone who loves good food, great ambiance, and excellent service. Reservation - After reservation also we have waited 30min to get table. Then what is the purpose of RESERVING? Table - You will find mostly 4 seater tables, wherever staff will allocate need to sit there, if we ask other tables staff will tell silly reasons like Cleaning so NO CHOICE Menu - List of Food items and Cocktiles in the table with Tissues and Water bottle ready unfortunately you can’t taste all items Barbeque - Only on Sundays and only night time on Weekdays, so BN restaurant mentioned afternoons as BigBuffet Lunch around 30 items Cocktails - I have not tried drinks, it will be charged extra Serving - First they serve with Starters then you need to get what you want from Buffet. Hygiene - Only 2 sinks are available for Hand wash for all (Men, Women, Children) need to wait again and Dustbin is always full, you will not find tissues for using Food - They starts with serving one piece of starters like chicken wings, joints, Fish fingers, Cajun potato, Panner pieces, Gobi, crispy corn but very limited quantity like 1 or 2 piece to everyone again same procedure they follow. Soup - 2 soups are available chicken creamy soup is good and another one is some veg soup Biryani - Rice is Good but very pieces are not tasty. Roti/Naan - If you ask they will provide Butter Naan/Roti taste wise Good Sweets - Always Gulab Jamun balls, Samya Payasam available but health wise we can’t eat more Ice Creams - Only Strawberry and Vanilla will be available if luck favours both you will get, sometimes they will not fill the ice immediately once get over. We need to wait for Ice creams. Cakes - If you celebrate B’day they will arrange 250gms cake and they wishes with claps and small music which I don’t like. Who are not celebrating for them NO Cake Brownie - I don’t know why they stopped Brownie from Menu that is the only thing chocolate lovers will get from BN, so SAD Other Items - Sometimes they will serve 1 piece of Pav bhaji, 6 pieces of Pani Puri, Sprouts, Salads, Pickles, Dips, Onion slices, White rice, Noodles, Tomato Dal, Curd are the items which are totally for NUMBER purpose of Food items, which I don’t prefer to taste in Restaurants Payment - Only good thing you can pay the bill through Mobile Feedback - Manager will ask the feedback while eating and next day you will get call from BN team. If you provide any good things also totally waste because how many times you will give also they will not implement anything Value for Money/Experience - My kids are disappointed because if we will go casually in any afternoon with family they will not get Barbeque, Mutton, Prawns (Only Sunday & Nights), Cake (Only occasion), Brownie & Tamato Saus (Not available), Kulfi (Only Dinner time) and Cool drinks (Extra Price)….. after paying nearly 2,000/- for 2 Adults and 2 Kids you will get normal restaurant service NOT WORTHY and losing LOT of TIME One time we ordered home delivery Very Disappointed with Quantity. Price - For 1 person 529/- plus 5% GST totally ₹ 555/- for kids you can save 100/-. 3 months before they are charging 503/- including GST - - In Tirupati we don’t have any big FMCG or software companies to get High salaries here average salary is around 25k based on that for 1 meal 555/- is TOO MUCH and Management need to Re-Work on Pricing, Improving service, Taste of Food items and need to include Kids favourite chocolate items in Menu. We will expect something different from other restaurants but in reality NOT happening.

The only reason why the rating is not 5 is bcoz at the start when other's were getting their starters I was completely ignored they made up for it and brought it later but that initial service still soured my experience throughout from beginning to end

The staff is very busy seeing reels in phone. The service is poor and the hotel bathroom is horrible 😞. No clean tables and floors and bathroom. The Soup was good and all other items are very average but not meet the price and quality and quantity. So better avoid to go there.

I had a very bad experience at this restaurant.A lady staff behaved me very rudely.I was sitting on the sofa in front of the hotel reception with heavy luggage, waiting for my friends who were coming hoping that we could order something once they arrived. An arrogant woman came and angrily said that I couldn’t sit there and asked me to go outside. At that time, there was no one else sitting there. They don’t know how to deal with customers. A good establishment needs good staff. I had a very bad experience here. First learn how to interact with customers, then run a restaurant. Horrible restaurant in Tirupati

I ordered fry piece boneless chicken biriyani at Swiggy, when i received the order I shocked, the food was very worst. There is no spicy in chicken, they simply mixed the the chicken with turmeric powder, they didn’t aad red chilly powder. I ordered boneless chicken but they sent bone chicken, even I don’t feel it is not as a chicken, I hope it is something different.

Average food, the service tops the table, restrooms stink like hell, the lady at the cash counter behaves shockingly rude to everyone that talks to her. The restaurant is located on the main road. The AC throw in the restaurant is bad. The climate is hot so they should consider working on to improve the ACs performance. Location is close to Tirupati railway station and bus stand. Will I visit this restaurant again? NO! Do I recommend them? NO!

Worst service, They didn’t give the menu for second person, the busboy bought us main course than the starters, when asked for soft drinks they arrived after we finished the meal, other table order was brought to us, no proper management look at the onion salad they served us

We have ordered 7 biryanis but they gave it only 6 but they had taken the whole amount of all the 7 biryanis. After arguments they had edited the CCTV footage by showing that they had served 7 biryanis.. They were such a fraud .. Taste wise everything Good but their behaviors were very cruial and bad.

Literally been some every week here for like 6 years while I did my undergrad here, never faced a problem in food and service but now after coming here for a work tried eating food this time, the service is pathetic ,now I got to know how they treat locals who are their repeat customers and pilgrims here differently,They even talk behind our back while we can hear everything, you can call that basic civic sense or something, stayed calm and got away to write this review,if u still wanna go and listen those who talk behind u it's up to you,if the restaurant takes this constructively I suggest improving service and ask them to be little more polite and respectful

The place is nice and the ambience was good. This is popular for biryani. It has a wide range of food items and especially in non veg. They are offering a special biryani everyday. Give it a try. It's a restaurant or chef's special biryani. The starters are also good. Vegetarian starters are too good. Baby corn 🌽 65 is a must try item from veg side. We tried mushroom 🍄 biryani. It was too good 😋. I think it's better than non veg biryani 😜. Overall it's a good one. We ordered via food apps earlier. Egg fried rice was good.

Really useless hotel, they took almost 35-40 min to prepare my take away order. Veg Manchurian waa too much spicy we can't even eat it. Food was costly but I thought I will get quality but worst experience.
