Parks
Parc de l'Orangerie is a charming park located in Strasbourg, dating back to the 17th century. Situated near the European Parliament and the Court of Human Rights, it boasts a rich history that dates back to the French Revolution. Originally home to 140 orange trees confiscated from Chateau de Bouxwiller, only three of these trees remain today and can be seen in the park's greenhouses on certain days.
A lovely park and formal gardens. Great to wander about and do bird spotting. Check out the huge nests on the building's chimneys! Just a short walk from EU parliament which makes it a great stopping point before walking down road to catch no.2 bus back towards the central station.
Andrew R — Google review
The park is beautiful and peaceful. There is a nice lake with ducks and a small white temple that looks very pretty. The grass is green and there are many trees for shade. It is a great place for a walk, a picnic, or to relax. The atmosphere is calm, and it is perfect for sunny days.
Ashkan — Google review
Sprawling well kept public park at the edge of Strasbugh. Easily accessible by tram, it was the perfect stop for a picnic. Well marked paths made the ponds easy to find and it was a nice quiet place to relax and unwind away from the hubub and touristy areas
Pam R — Google review
A very nice park, beautiful flower arrangements and animals. The stork‘s are impressive and not only around their nest . A nice waterfall and if you have time rent a boat We will come back
Bernd — Google review
we would loved to stay longer if not raining. it was a quiet garden to walk around to the lake and had to make a quick run when the rain starts pouring.
Shalli A — Google review
Big park for all family, some big space for playing and having children play ground. They grow different kinds of flowers at different places. There are free toilets. It is very good to spend relaxing time with family or friends.

Very nice large park with lots of trees, a small lake and nice paths. Great for running, walking or having a picnic. There are ice cream shops in 2 entrances, parking space and playgrounds for children.

The European Parliament in Strasbourg, completed in 1999, is located in the eastern part of France near the German border. As the capital of the Great East region, it boasts a unique blend of German-French cultures. The city's Notre-Dame Cathedral and historic center, designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, are major attractions. Visitors can explore Petite France with its charming half-timbered houses and footbridges before heading to the European District.
Visiting the European Parliament in Strasbourg is generally a smooth and enjoyable experience. Access to the building is straightforward, with clear security procedures such as checking IDs. Once inside, visitors are guided by well-marked signs, making it easy to follow the tour path. The architecture of the building is striking and modern, adding to the overall experience of seeing a key European institution up close. It’s a great opportunity to learn more about how the EU functions and to explore an impressive space.
Yo L — Google review
Wonderful place to visit in Straßbourg. The entrance was very easy with ID-Card. From the rooftop, you can overlook the whole city and all of its important monuments. Inside the building are nice exhibitions focused on the EU, the current council presidency, Louise Weiss, and even seasonal projects like artworks from European youth. You get an audio guide and can play around with many installations to learn more about the EU. There is even a café and many interesting magazines to take home for free. A must on any trip to Straßburg 🇪🇺
Lys — Google review
Great place to visit if you are in any way interested in politics or the European Union. The day we went (mid September) it was not busy and didn’t have to wait anywhere. Don’t forget to bring your passport since there is a hefty security check. Entry is free and you don’t have to book in advance.
Stanly — Google review
Really interesting visit with signs in French and English. Audio guide in multiple languages. Free. Good view of Strasbourg from the roof terrace.
Pauline M — Google review
I didn’t get a chance to get inside the building, so comment is only about its looks. Intentionally left looking unfinished as a sign of openness to new member countries, it could also be interpreted as a future sign of decay with countries leaving it.
Mike Z — Google review
The place is very beautiful and interesting. It tells story about European Union in the best way.🇪🇺
Maciej C — Google review
It made me very happy entering this place. I have found many interesting historical photographs. I made a small break in the cafeteria, then made some more pictures of myself with all 27 flags and I got interesting informations about the upcoming European elections. I have just one small note: The souvenir shop was almost empty. I could barely find any thing to buy. You should pay attention to it. United in diversity! 🇪🇺

Historical landmark
The Palais Rohan, located on the Grande Ile in Strasbourg, is a historic monument that was originally a princely residence for the Rohan family. Today, it houses three museums: an art museum, an archeology museum, and a decorative arts museum. Even if you don't plan to visit the museums, it's worth visiting to admire the stunning architecture and facade of the palace.
A beautiful building and art. A lot of religious art in the Beaux Arts museum section but a good variety of later art genres. The archaeology museum in its basement is small but well put together with a few reconstructed Roman rooms which work well. The decorative arts museum has the bedrooms of Napoléon and Marie Antoinette in it. Worth a visit, opposite the cathedral. You can buy a 24 hr pass that lets you into all three museums in the palace.
Lydia — Google review
A large and beautiful palace, located near the cathedral. It houses three museums: the Archaeological Museum, the Museum of Fine Arts and the Museum of Decorative Arts. The most interesting is the last one, because here there are a lot of rooms/halls furnished and arranged as in the years when the palace was built.
Paul C — Google review
This is basically 3 museums, on 3 different floors. The day pass would be best if you want to see more than 2 museums. There was also a temporary exhibition. It was amazing to see, but I wish there was an audio guide or a guided tour. There was a written guide which was nice, but it would be much better if you could walk and listen. Also the layout of the museums were a bit confusing. In some rooms there was only French descriptions. There is a locker room that does not need coins.
Tara E — Google review
Must-see museum in Strasbourg. From the permanent exhibition in the basement with a nice history. And the ground level with the official ballroom, meeting rooms. The first level has an impressive collection of paintings well over hundreds of years old. The advantage would be to visit the museum on a cloudy day. The sunlight reflects on the paintings too much and in a professional way the lights need to be adjusted.
Alexander K — Google review
The museum is definitely worth a visit! We visited the museum on the first Sunday of the month, so the entrance was free. Not only can you walk trough the furnished old palace rooms, but there also is an exhibition with artefacts from times up to the Stone Age! Really impressive! And on top, the staff was really friendly.
Lucie B — Google review
Has 3 museums which you can visit individually or on a combined ticket. Worth a visit for an hour or two, especially on a rainy day in Strasbourg!
Gary07734 — Google review
Once again, very happy that my press card grants free entry bc it is quite expensive to enter for all 3 (or 2 as the Fine Arts was randomly closed) museums. I decided to go to the Decorative Arts section with the palace rooms and furniture. I’ve seen more impressive rooms in many palaces and houses but these were still lovely enough to wander. Also very helpful to have full English placards in each room describing the furniture, furnishings and objects d’art. Photos allowed. Definitely great to visit on a bad weather day like I had. Warning there is a lunch break around 1 or 2 when the museums are closed, with ZERO signage anywhere about this. Typically European 🤦🏽‍♀️

Palais Rohan is a Baroque palace completed in 1742 for Cardinal Rohan, the Prince‑Bishop of Strasbourg. Situated beside Strasbourg Cathedral and overlooking the Ill River, its façades emulate grand Parisian townhouses. The palace represented the reinstatement of French and Catholic authority in Alsace, in contrast to the Germanic architecture of its adjacent buildings. Today, the palace houses three municipal museums.

Cathedral
Sights & Landmarks
The Cathédrale Notre-Dame-de-Strasbourg is a stunning Gothic edifice that dates back to the 1200s and features a remarkable 16th-century astronomical clock and a beautiful rose window. Its iconic 142-meter spire can be seen towering over the city's rooftops, making it an unmissable landmark.
I visited the cathedral on a schools trip and it was amazing. The fog on that day made the spire disappear into the clouds which was very cool. The inside was also beautiful, and the large clock was meant to have an animated show happen at 2:00 but it was a little disappointing, with the bell just ringing twice, and that was it. But everything else was spectacular. 👍
Frederik — Google review
Strasbourg Cathedral is an awe-inspiring masterpiece of Gothic art. Its soaring spire and intricate facade leave you speechless before you even step inside. The stained glass glows with breathtaking color and detail. The atmosphere inside is both grand and deeply spiritual. A visit here is unforgettable—a true jewel of Europe.
Roberto S — Google review
Architectural wonders. I really surprised and wondered on this cathedral architecture. It amazing and look very nice. There is no entrance fee. But there is security and he will check your bags. Inside of the cathedral is also great. You will enjoy it. Everything about this cathedral is displayed on the screen inside the cathedral that really valuable. Not too crowded if you have patience you may get nice photos of the cathedral. In side there is clock and its make bell on specific time.
Jolly J — Google review
The overall experience is good but was busy. So many people always in the way. The history of it being built was very interesting. It's amazing that structures can remain in the same location basically untouched for such a long time. The clock in the back is a highlight that you don't see in any other churches.
Eric S — Google review
The Strasbourg Cathedral is an absolute masterpiece of Gothic architecture and one of the most stunning landmarks in Europe. Its intricate stone façade, towering spire, and detailed sculptures leave you in awe from the moment you see it. Inside, the soaring nave, beautiful stained-glass windows, and the famous astronomical clock are simply breathtaking. You can climb to the top for a panoramic view of Strasbourg and the surrounding Alsace region — the climb is worth it, though there are sometimes long queues, especially on weekends and holidays. The cathedral is surrounded by charming squares and streets, making it a perfect spot to explore, take photos, and enjoy the city’s historic atmosphere. A must-visit for anyone in Strasbourg — whether you’re a history buff, architecture lover, or just looking for a spectacular view!
Niroshan — Google review
On a foggy morning in November we o pop aid a visit to the Notre Dame Cathedral in Strasbourg. We missed the morning opening time so we made sure we were standing in line for the afternoon opening hours. The queue, although long, moved quickly, and once inside we could see all of the stained glass windows and the mechanical clock in the far corner. We were there when the clock struck one o’clock - so not much movement on the animated figures at the top of the clock! The cathedral is worth a visit - even in winter!
Annette K — Google review
Strasbourg’s iconic cathedral is truly breathtaking. From the outside, you can admire the magnificence of Gothic architecture in every detail. The massive towers and finely carved stone decorations are mesmerizing. Once inside, the peaceful atmosphere immediately surrounds you; the colorful light filtering through the stained-glass windows gives the cathedral a mystical feeling. Climbing up the tower is a bit challenging, but the view makes it absolutely worth it. You can see the rooftops of the city, the Rhine River, and the Alsace landscape stretching far into the distance. The astronomical clock inside the cathedral is also a must-see – both historically and technically fascinating. Whether during the day or illuminated at night, the cathedral offers a unique beauty in every moment. It’s not only a religious site but also a cultural and historical treasure. Anyone visiting Strasbourg should definitely make time to see it
Erdi S — Google review
We came for the Luminous exhibition in the evening. It was very beautiful, colorful and joyful with the show and the music in the background also was so beautiful. If you come for the show better come at least 20 minutes early to pick up the good seat. Totally recommend the show !

French restaurant
La Corde à Linge is a popular restaurant located in the heart of La Petite France in Strasbourg. Despite its touristy appearance, locals appreciate its large waterfront terrace and traditional Alsatian dishes such as spatzle. The restaurant offers a solid menu featuring Alsatian, French, and Continental cuisine. With a charming setting and the option to dine al fresco by the river Ill, it's an ideal spot for lunch or dinner while exploring Strasbourg.
I just had a great lunch experience here. The Alsatian pasta, Picon beer and the dessert were just delicious! What made my experience better is the really friendly waiter, Jerome. French waiters aren't known to be really friendly with great service, but Jerome changed that typical 'reputation' of French restaurant service. 😊 He's awesome!

Recently went there on my vacation in Strasbourg. No complains whatsoever. The service is entertaining and puts effort into learning different languages for the tourists. Food is perfect, I wish I could eat there weekly. I recommend going there at around 9-10 pm. It won’t be full like in the afternoon. It will be a comfortable atmosphere with a view on the river, nice service and really delicious food. Definitely recommend the Spaetzle, which basically everyone had on their plate, and definitely recommend the restaurant.
Laura K — Google review
A cool restaurant with seats outside with magnificent view of the Le Petit France. I was there at sunset and the scene was magical. The food is good with big portion, I cannot finish by myself so if you go by two and you can share. I paid 30€ for 1 main dish and a glass of wine, which I think is fair for the location. The staff is friendly and acommodating.
Nam V — Google review
The location is excellent, and the staff are very friendly and genuinely helpful. The place has a great atmosphere and beautiful views, which make it worth a visit. However, the food we tried was quite average and didn’t really match the overall setting. Considering the prices, the value for money could be better. I’d still recommend stopping by for a drink or to enjoy the view, but for a proper meal, you might find better options nearby.

Lucky enough to be passing on a Tuesday 13.30 pm . Straight on a lovely table in the shade of a large tree. Food was very good, pork with seasonal vegetables in sauce..see picture. Staff super friendly and helpful. Very good value for such a delicious meal. We tried to return that same evening but the wait to be seated queue was very long..though probably wish we had joined it :)

It’s restaurant that has delicious food near the cute streets and the tourism place. Enjoy your meal with wine and watch the culture. I ate duck with patato and it was very good. People work for this place is very fast with smiling faces. Thank them again :)

Le Tire-Bouchon is a renowned restaurant in Strasbourg, known for its charming exterior adorned with teddy bears, colorful ornaments, and pine garlands. This relaxed eatery offers a generous fixed-price and a la carte menu options, as well as a terrace for outdoor dining. Situated near the cathedral of Strasbourg, it has been recognized with a Bib Gourmand by the Michelin Guide for its excellent value.
We went here for lunch today. The food was delicious and the service was good. We tried the snails, the pork cheeks, the braised Ham, and Smoked salmon with potatoes. For dessert we tried the creme bruillet. Everything was super delicious.

Today we visited Strasbourg France. After our canal boat cruise, and walking tour, and upon recommendation from our tour guide, Connie, Dan, Kathy & I had a fabulous Lunch at Le Tire-Bouchon. We had Chicken Cordon Bleu, Filet Mignon au Pork Tenderloin, Viennese Veal Escalope. Sides were, Fried Potatoes, Fries & Spaetzle. Everything was absolutely delicious and prepared perfectly! Our great servers were Nassar Hichan & Edward. They took great care of us. We're saving room for Dessert, to enjoy one of the great Gelato Shoppe's in Strasbourg......

One of the best places my husband and I have ever eaten at! First of all, the food from the "grandmother's menu" is simply top notch! We came to Strasbourg for a mini-vacation and as soon as we had dinner at this place on the first day, we went back there every day for the next few days! We loved it so much, and not a single dish disappointed us. Secondly, the service was really pleasant, the waiters were friendly, spoke English, and the dishes were brought out fairly quickly and were hot. We liked the beef stewed in beer and the pork cheeks stewed in wine the most ✨️😄 So I 100% recommend this place and will recommend it to all my friends ❤️

Such a nice and lovely place close to the cathedral. The staff were supernice as well Be sure to try snails as starter. Theyre incredible. Thank you💓

The food is basic level, it's very close to the cathedral which I guess that make it popular but I'd rather go to another area 3 minutes walk to get better quality

We had a great time! The food was delicious, the staff very friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was very pleasant. Best of all their homemade profiterole & the red wine 💯❤️

Every dish was delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful in recommending dishes. If you're looking for a local French restaurant, I recommend this one.

Wonderful meal and service. Escargots were perfect, my wife had the schnitzel and loved it (and I enjoyed my bite of it too), and the sauerkraut and meat platter was to die for. Great service too. My only complaint was finding out the 1L bottle of still water was 7.50, which is exhorbitant...but everything else was perfect and we would definitely eat here again.

The rustic half-timbered house offers a cozy and inviting atmosphere, complete with traditional regional furniture and painted ceilings. The a la carte menu boasts a wide selection of Alsatian dishes, including foie gras, escargots, sausages, and sauerkraut served generously.

Finkstuebel in Strasbourg is a gem for traditional Alsatian food. The cozy, rustic vibe adds to the charm, making it feel like a true local experience. The food was excellent—authentic, flavorful, and well-prepared. The staff was friendly, though a bit confusing at times, but it didn’t take away from the experience. Perfect spot if you’re looking to enjoy local cuisine in a welcoming atmosphere!

Incredible food with generous portions. The roasted potatoes were absolutely incredible. Staff was friendly and accommodating for my very limited French :)

Excellent dinner! We had appetizers, main courses and dessert, plus wine! The best dish was the chicken and veal in puff pastry- a MUST order! We were unfamiliar with many of the dishes so the waitress was kind and explained them to us in English. Service was quick, helpful and kind. Easy walk from town and a great way to see a little more of the area. We had made reservations well in advance and they were able to accommodate a slight time change due to train scheduling, so we appreciated that. Clean bathrooms too! Highly recommend!

Fine dining restaurant
Au Crocodile is a renowned restaurant located in an elegant 19th-century venue, offering innovative fine dining with a touch of old Alsace and a modern twist. The grand salon features skylights and a magnificent 19th-century painting by Adolphe Grison, setting the tone for an exquisite dining experience. Chef Romain Brillat leads the team in presenting dazzling dishes that showcase Alsatian-French haute cuisine with a nouvelle spin.
Incredible meal, really nice atmosphere and amazing history around this restaurant. The staff were incredible, knowledgeable and spoke several languages. The food was exceptional and worth the price, overall experience was great. It was our honeymoon and they even brought out a beautiful additional dessert dish for us to celebrate at no extra cost
Sean M — Google review
This place is overpriced and overrated. We were there for Christmas lunch and gosh they ripped us of. A pour of champagne was charged 20 euros. Three slices of truffle was 25 euros. I have been to twenty or so Michelin star places across four continents and none come close to the price gouging of this place.😱😱😱 Overall in France Michelin Star is not reliable and highly biased. Some of the dishes were great and some were quite awful. Also the service is good but some of the dishes were served in chipped utensils. :/ Coming to food, the chef lacks balance or I have a poor palate. The key lime with the fish sent a shock to my bones. The olive oil on the ice cream was unnecessary. I have not seen someone ruining a great caviar with strange wrap around like this place before. 😫 The lobster and the pastry with the poultry dish were memorable . The small bites were good too.
Sayantan M — Google review
Wonderful meal. Beautiful room. Hospitable and knowledgeable staff. Blossoms filled with fish were slightly sweet and creamy like ricotta. Smoked arctic char with cherry’s was a masterful match. Nice add-ons from amuse bouche, to brioche, bread, and after dinner sweets. Will return….

A great dining experience for us and the food highlight of our Alsace trip. Everything from start to finish was worthy of its fine dining Michelin rating. We opted for the tasting menu that included all dishes on the a la carte menu. Every dish tasted wonderful with portions being perfect. Flawless service enhanced the evening. Don't miss this one!

We had a wonderful lunch at Au Crocodile in Strasbourg last Saturday and opted for the Discovery Menu. Every course was beautifully crafted, but the highlights for us were the perfectly cooked red snapper and the outstanding cheese selection. What truly elevated the experience, though, was the service. From the moment we arrived, the whole team took exceptional care of us, making us feel both welcomed and special. A heartfelt thank you in particular to Loan and the entire service team for their attentiveness, warmth, and professionalism. An excellent balance of fine dining, creativity, and hospitality. We can only highly recommend Au Crocodile to anyone visiting Strasbourg.
Jaime — Google review
We booked it here because no other restaurants were available and this is the only place that is free for us and it’s the best decision we have ever made. From the beginning you enter, you receive very warmest and the most politeness of the welcomes from the staffs. We were seated and the upper floor. You feel that it’s luxurious but still cozy and won’t make you feel uncomfortable. They started serving you the warm towel and then serve us an appetizer which good but some of them are quite strong taste. After that, we ordered the chef menu which include 6 dish in total but at the end you will receive more. We were quite worried that we might not be full but due to they were taking time serving each small dish then we felt really full after leaving the restaurant. Each time they serve the dish, they will explain what are they and what products are they from. We really like the idea of using the local products to made each dish. We enjoy every moment we were there from food to services. Really worth for your experiences.
KN I — Google review
An incredibly sophisticated yet still cozy place. Food was an absolute delight. Our server also really knew his wines! To top off our fabulous evening we even got to peak into an original Michelin guide book from 1968.
G. L — Google review
Edited after education and feedback: Michelin 1 Star approaching the experience of a 2 star. The food is forgettable. It's well crafted, but not expressive. High quality products, but nothing you want to revisit. You might even just want McDonald's afterward. And no chocolates or gift to finish. (even if it's just the printed menu, candy or something used in the food to remember them by). Wine list is decent, but prices are near 3-4x retail for bottles, and the by the glass menu is very poor (only 1 crand cru). They are pushy to buy wine - to the point it's obvious they need to because they don't naturally sell enough. Their confirmation of this tells me they would benefit from restructuring their wine menu. There are many affordable and excellent Alsacian wines that would _greatly_ enhance the diner's experience AND net more profit. I.e. marvel deiss Pinot noir is around €50. I would pay €125 and probably order a second bottle. Pierre Frick costs half that, but could charge the same. Albert Seltz, Boeckel, Karcher grand crus are very affordable and excellent quality. By improving quality and not ripping people off of the markup, diners will buy more. You'll actually make more money! (And have happier diners). I, for example, refused to pay over 3x retail for wine and chose water instead. The dining room is lovely, but the servers' shirts are 'nude' and the same color as the carpet, so everything blends in and it's very Eyes Wide Shut.

Chez Yvonne is a historic and charming restaurant located in Strasbourg, with a legacy dating back to 1873. Originally known as S'Burjerstuewel, it has been frequented by notable figures such as Johnny Hallyday, Jacques Chirac, and Nicolas Sarkozy. The cozy and rustic ambiance of the venue offers a traditional Alsatian Winstub style experience with wood-paneled dining rooms and classic decor reminiscent of an old-fashioned Alsace parlor.
Old world class, exceptional cuisine, fantastic wine pairings, and perfect service. Had the Foie gras, escargot, tete de veau, choucroute garnie, creme brulee along with local alsace wines and were thoroughly satisfied!

Absolutely wonderful experience! Chez Yvonne is an authentic gem in the heart of Strasbourg. The atmosphere is cozy and full of character — you can really feel the Alsatian spirit in every detail. The staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout the evening. The food was simply fantastic: traditional dishes prepared to perfection, full of flavor and beautifully presented. The choucroute garnie and tarte flambée were outstanding, and the local wines paired perfectly. It’s the kind of place where you instantly feel at home and want to come back again. A must-visit when in Strasbourg — highly recommended!

It is a very popular restaurant and it gets very crowded so reservation will be a better choice. The food here is traditional and with reasonable prices and potion. I like the snails and foie gras here very much! It is a little bit pity that the waiter didn’t show me the speciality menu. In general it is worth to try!

You want traditional Alsacian food? This is where you go. Don't take my word for it, take Michelin's. The food is incredible. Every single bite is an entire event. And the service, while almost exclusively in French, is beyond friendly. Feel free to completely reply on the servers for recommendations on food, as well as wine. They will Not disappoint. And as one last perk: for two people, two apps, two mains, two dessert, 4 glasses of wine, and a bottle of sparkling water - €130 (which is very very good btw) Definitely make a reso. This place fills!

Great place. All the dishes are typical for the region, but really well executed. The service was really good. The whole place has a very traditional look.
