Vladivostok

Vladivostok is a major Pacific port city in Russia overlooking Golden Horn Bay, near the borders with China and North Korea. It's known as a terminus of the Trans-Siberian Railway, which links the city to Moscow in a 7-day journey. In the city center is Central Square, where a towering memorial pays tribute to local soldiers who fought Japanese forces in the early 20th century.

Sights & Landmarks
The Vladivostok Fortress Museum is a sprawling complex with guided tours and military history exhibits. Construction began in 1878 as a defense against potential Japanese attacks, although it was never completed. The museum showcases old cannons, weaponry, maps, photographs, and documents that narrate the city's history. It offers insight into the city's defense perspective through dioramas and artifacts. While some signage needs repair and not everything is in English, it remains an intriguing visit for history enthusiasts.
Breathtaking view, our kids loved cannons there, lots of interesting military stuff.
Lela D — Google review
It tells the history of the city from the perspective of defending this part of Russia from attack. There are dioramas and artifacts as well as weapons. Not everything is in English but enough of it is to get the most important information. Some signage is in need of repair. It's definitely worth seeing if you're a fan of history

Eagle's Nest Hill, located in Vladivostok, is easily accessible from the city center by walking along Svetlanskaya Street and passing under Golden Bridge. The hill offers panoramic views of the city, including the bridge and a monument dedicated to the creators of the Slavic alphabet. This iconic landmark sits atop an extinct volcano and was named after Russian troops who fought in the Russo-Turkish war.
Easy to get to this iconic landmark with nice views over Vladivostok. In fact it is an extinct volcano and was named after Russian troops who fought during the Russo-Turkish war. But the views are panoramic especially the bridge and monunment dedicated to the creators of the Slaviic alphabet
Ross D — Google review
To get there from the city centre, walk along Svetlanskaya Street. After passing under Golden Bridge, continue to walk about 300- 400ms until you see a red bricked complex on your left, take the steps beside the red bricked complex as picture, till you see the bottom Funicular station as picture, which is opposite the Engineering School. Walk up stairs beside the Funicular tracks till you reach the upper Funicular station. You will see the Eagle's Nest hill just on the other side of the road. Take the underground pedestrian crossing to cross the road and follow the steps to go uphill. You are there!

History Museums
Ships
Gvardeyskaya Krasnoznamonnaya Podvodnaya Lodka S-56, Muzey is a significant part of Russian naval history and played a crucial role in World War II. It is now open to the public as part of the Naval Memorial Museum in Vladivostok. The museum has two parts: one dedicated to the history of the Russian Navy and the other showcasing the submarine itself. Visitors can explore its interior, which features original machinery and equipment.
Well this was about the fifth submarine we have visited on various holidays. S-56 is pretty special as it has a long history and is a real U-boat. During the war it moved from Vladivostok to Murmansk across Alaska, Panama Canal, Great Britain, and Iceland. The U-Boat was decorated with medals and was the best one at times of the Soviet Union during the war. Then it came back to Vladivostok. Now, half of the U-Boat is a museum and the other half has been new decorated with war items. There are also memorials for the sailors who died during the fights of past times. Inside the U-Boat, you can also see the sleeping places for the crew, living room and also navigation rooms,
Ross D — Google review
A land-based WW2 submarine that you can walk through. Try to get there before the tour busses deliver the crowds of tourists also you have to " go with the flow" through the vessel and outside dodge the selfie sticks. Take time to see the other attractions on the Korebelnaya embankment and adjoining Admiralsky and Theatrical park
Vincent O — Google review
Interesting to see inside of the submarine. However, if you're going alone without a guide you won't learn much. Everything is only in russian, but still you get to see how the submarine looked like on the inside.
Ivana R — Google review
It is quite good to look around because it is a special experience to watch a submarine with just 100 rubles. It was huge.
송재헌 — Google review
Probably one of the only times you’ll get to get inside a submarine, so do it if you pass by. Worth the entrance fee

Art center
Museums
Zarya, which means "dawn" in Russian, is a contemporary art center located in Vladivostok. It was established in 2013 within an old Soviet garment factory and has since become the first Far Eastern loft and art cluster in the city. The center offers a unique urban space with remarkable architecture and design, hosting various exhibitions, film screenings, lectures, and fostering an unconventional free atmosphere.
I visited this place as a tourist on the way going back to Vladivostok International Airport to see art works as I had a little time. I was able to see art works but not as much as I expected since I thought this place was an art museum. It seemed like it was sort of working place. What I really liked about this place was “Cafe Tree” which is inside of the building. Great dishes and beverages in reasonable price served by kind and nice staffs. Strongly recommend if you want to have a meal before leaving Vladivostok.
Hyeonsu L — Google review
The gallery has a very nice atmosphere and aesthetics. Exhibitions were alright and there is a cozy reading place, coffee shop on the first floor, and toilets available. Would recommend if you're looking for some quiet space.

The modern art gallery. The art works are wondeful and the cafe is also super great! But theres no sign for gallery so we took 30minutes to find it. In addition the explanation in english is not that good so we could not understand the artworks well. Some had explanation but not mant.

Restaurant
Zuma is a renowned restaurant in Vladivostok, offering a sophisticated dining experience with its stylish Asian-inspired decor and innovative Pan-Asian cuisine. The menu features an array of fusion dishes, including the Geisha soup and tamaki tuna salad. Guests can indulge in sushi, sashimi, and various meat, salad, and seafood options. Additionally, Zuma boasts a lively atmosphere with karaoke available daily in a communal setting.
Really nice asian food restaurant in the centre of Vladivostok. We were attended by Alex, a young and helpful waiter that recommended us very nice dishes. We tried a bit of sushi, a warm salad, two soups and fish with apple sauce, they were awesome. We enjoyed the place to much as the decoration and the architecture of the building is just perfect.

Pan Asian restaurant ..i find the dishes taste bland. Decor wise is romantic and attentive svc.

I have no doubt for chef and cook in the restaurant. And also live whole crab will be awesome. Ramp meat was so good. And the beer was good too. But crab lag was disappointing. I visited here this morning. There's no freshness, no fullness in the crab shell. I suggested to manager to think about the quality for their reputation. I don't any more person disappointed at the crab with saying holy crab after me. And I hope success of this restaurant. I hope to taste something better at the next visit.
Dongheon L — Google review
Great cocktails, amazing seafood, the cod is the best in the world. Wasabi prawns and wok fried scallops were so fresh and delicious. Even if you're vegetarian as I am, the options are top notch: burrata and mango (surprisingly excellent combination), eggplant tempura and mixed Chinese salad. Service was perfect too!
Rett P — Google review
it's pretty valuable restaurant.I think July we visited was not the King crab season. All the other menus were great, but the King crab was almost empty. Especially, there was no torso at all. Still, the reason I recommend Zuma is because it has excellent cuisine, a luxurious atmosphere, and a very nice staff.
Mimi Y — Google review
This restaurant is really amazing. Everything we ordered was delicious, food and cocktails. The decor is very beautiful, service is good. Prices are high, we were two and we paid 8500rb = 120usd with only one main course. The only one problem which is common in russia is the english Menu and the english speaking waiters, they found me an English menu with wrong prices and there was no English speaking waiter. Overall, I recommend it
Moad T — Google review
It deserved as the best seafood restaurant in the Vladivostok. They all were kind ,smiling and served good foods I ordered , the king crab was quite small under 1kg though. Now, there is the King crab festival. I could get a king crab with a special price 1400RB/kg.
Seohyun L — Google review
Quality food and drinks. Recommend the seafood cream soup and crab tempura. This is a high end restaurant so price high compared to local places

Korea House, also known as "Корейский Дом," has gained a strong reputation for its diverse and delicious Lenten menu, offering a wide selection of meatless and fishless entrees. The restaurant provides an exceptional dining experience with the option to have drink orders brought earlier than the food, allowing guests to relax as they are served an array of appetizers.
Amazing food and skilled staff, great experience overall. A lot of dishes could be made vegetarian or vegan, and the staff was very helpful about that. Totally recommend!

This is the original Korean restaurant in post-Soviet Vladivostok. The food is very good but pricey (for my pocketbook) - like most Korean places. Still, a great setting to enjoy a fine meal with friends.

Nestled along a charming walkway, "Five o'clock" is a delightful café that exudes a cozy British vibe. This quaint tea room offers an inviting atmosphere where you can enjoy reasonably priced food and drinks. Guests rave about the delicious broccoli quiche and scrumptious red velvet cake, complemented by their decent Americano coffee. While the service is friendly and staff are attentive, it's worth noting that food is served cold as they do not heat it up for customers.
A cute, lovely, British-vibe tea place with friendly staffs. We'd figured that it gets quite crowded later in the day so we went there early in the morning and things worked perfectly fine for us.

It's small, but it has a cute interior. There are many Koreans, so there is a Korean menu. The staff is kind. It's a little noisy and complicated because there are always many customers in it. Coffee is delicious, but cake is just fine.

Situated on a lovely walkway. Cozy cafe and very reasonably priced. Had their broccoli quiche, blueberry muffin, and americano coffee. The quiche was delicious and the coffee wasn’t bad although the serving was on the small side I think. Good service and English was well understood.

Nestled in a prime location, Sherwood Lounge offers breathtaking views that are sure to impress. While the service may have its hiccups during busy times, the ambiance makes up for it. The menu features delightful dishes and an impressive selection of hookah, although some diners noted that the ventilation could be improved. Service was terrible. Last time visiting we were company of 9 folks and wanted to enjoy the view in terrace. Till the end of the night that exact table on terrace remained available but reserved nobody showed up. Beside the awfull service place is still good.

(Translated by Google) We came here in not very good weather, the waiter had to wait for some time until he got off the phone, as well as the administrator, so that at least someone would take the order. The hood is lame; it didn’t seem to work well enough under heavy workload. There is somewhere to park in the dark. I think you should go here during the day and to the terrace in the summer.

(Translated by Google) A wonderful place with a beautiful view, but we were surprised when when booking they did not inform us that they had problems with the hot shop, although we went with the purpose of having dinner, but we could not even order a salad, as the waiter said "yes, our deep frying is not very good", in the end we took a salad, one of them was Caesar with shrimp, the shrimp was tasteless, and there was so much cheese in the salad that it interrupted the taste of everything, we also took bruschetta, with salmon it was delicious, with pate - visually it was not desirable to eat it, as if it is worth working on the presentation, with shrimp - too much cream cheese, dill is clearly unnecessary, in my opinion shrimp and dill do not go together, the shrimp itself was very dry, we also ordered blueberry lemonade, well, not lemonade - water with ice and sugar. At the end of the evening, the waiter asked us how the evening went, we gave him our feedback, to which he replied “good”, but I don’t see anything good in this, the service is poor, I don’t think this is the right approach to negative feedback… I would also like to note that the table is quite high, the sofa is low, not very comfortable (Original)

(Translated by Google) Great view, great location. The cuisine is good, but there are many better things in Vladivostok. The abundance of hookah somewhat spoils the appetite (there’s probably something wrong with the hood). But there is a veranda - again with an excellent view: but that is if there is no rain and it is not cold.

The building is beautiful, a must see. But the food is not worth the price and the service was not great.
Jacqui K — Google review
I add my 50 cents, but rarely write reviews. The food menu is great, there are dishes which you won't find at a regular place (like bear meat, etc.). It is expensive. However, the service was the worse I've ever had. I've ordered a beer and a server told me to wait 3 minutes because they are changing a keg. I waited 20 minutes and went to search for a waiter. He brought a food which I didn't order. Also, we waited for a dish that ordered, but he didn't bring it until we actually asked for it. I would understand if the place have been busy, but it was totally empty and a waiter had only us as his customers. So, it might be that my wife and I were so unlucky to get this waiter, but for the price we paid service should be much, MUCH better than we had. I think my 2 stars is just a credit to this place.
