Zoo
Outdoor Activities
Bioparc Fuengirola is a zoo that offers visitors the chance to see animals and birds in naturalistic enclosures. The park also features a recreated jungle clearing and a play area for kids. It's one of the many popular attractions in the area, offering a unique experience for nature lovers. In addition to exploring the wildlife, visitors can also enjoy local culture, dining options, and budget-friendly accommodations nearby.
What a lovely place this is. The most picturesque zoo I've ever been to. The design and the architecture is beautiful and the animals all look relaxed, even in the heat. It is a small place but we visited late afternoon on a Monday and it was really quiet. Lots of time and space to take in the atmosphere and see the animals. The historical "lab" type building in the middle is superb and adds a great layer to the experience. Kids loved it. Staff throughout the park really seemed to love their jobs. Friendly extremely knowledgeable and keen for us to see animals we may have otherwise missed. If you take your time, and don't rush round it's really good value for money.

This is a hidden gem. We have been in Fuengirola for several months and have not prioritized checking this out. Having seen a number of the best rated zoos in the world, we did not expect much. Of course, as a bioparc, they are not trying to compete with the big zoos. The park is nicely laid out and is much larger than we had expected with a good range of animals. Like most zoos/bioparcs this was laid out in geographic regions. We are older/retired and went as a couple. It was easy to stroll through the park which was busy but not crowded. It was clear that the kids we saw were having a good time. Part of this is the habitats are not huge so it is easy to see the animals and there are some areas where you are ‘in’ the cage allowing very close viewing of the animals. The real gem for us was the very educative exhibit on the mapping of the world and Spain’s role in doing so. All-in-all the park was a treat. At the end of the visit, we were able to upgrade to an annual pass with our entry fee credited to the purchase.

Lovely zoo... had my dad in a wheelchair and its very accessible. Found it can be a bit confusing which way to go but absolutely beautiful parc.. Tigers were snoozing so didnt see them. The mini aquarium is beautiful and air conditioned which was ideal as it was roasting outside. Cafe food not great quality at all.. but facilities clean and tidy
Dawn H — Google review
The zoo is excellent! I recommend visiting. Interesting documentation with historical decorations, the animals' enclosures are clean and comfortable. I also liked the playground and the cafe after the end of the tour of the zoo. There are benches in the shade where you can rest. Both the child (8 years old) and the adult (33 years old) were very interested. Yes, the tickets may be a bit expensive, but every euro is worth it.

Amazing day out. We went as a family of 4 and we all saw animals that we’d never seen. Very well set up and designed and the animals look well taken care of. Very friendly and helpful staff. We spent about 3 1/2 hours in there including a stop in the cafe for a drinks which were reasonably priced. It is well shaded and the aquarium is quite cool to get out of the heat. Also a note if you park in the large underground parking lot 2 streets over you can ask for a parking coupon that gives you 50% off parking.

We had an amazing day at Bioparc Fuengirola with our children. It’s an experience we will never forget! - Highlights: • The setting is beautiful and immersive, with lush vegetation that makes you feel like you’re walking through a real jungle. • The animals are very close to visitors, with no visible cages, which allows for a unique and respectful observation. • The park is clean, well-maintained, and easy to navigate, even with young children. • The educational activities and keeper presentations are well-designed and engaging for kids. • We especially loved the free-roaming lemurs, the majestic gorillas, and the impressive giant baobab. • The African group’s night show was fantastic – lively, festive, and a great surprise for the whole family! • We also had the chance to enjoy the night tour, which was a magical experience and gave us a different perspective on the animals. • Thanks to our special ticket, we were allowed to exit and return after 7:30 PM to enjoy the evening shows — a real bonus! - Point to consider: • The entrance fee may seem a bit high, but the quality of the experience makes it well worth it. In short, it’s a perfect family activity — fun, educational, and respectful of wildlife. My kids are still talking about it! The African performance and night visit made it even more special. I highly recommend this park to anyone visiting the Costa del Sol.

One of the best places I've ever been. It felt like walking through the jungle. The animals habitats were so well designed. Each area of the parc was clean and well thought out. Fantastic place for both adults and kids. There was so much to see and go around. Not too crowded which was lovely. Truly magical.
Chelsey F — Google review
Really good setup. Loads to see and the facility itself was in great condition. Most importantly, the animals all looked healthy and well cared for. We stayed for around 5 hours so while it's not the cheapest, value for money is great.

Amusement park
Water & Amusement Parks
Sould Park Fuengirola is a vibrant outdoor amusement venue designed for younger children, offering a range of simple rides and games. Situated along the beach promenade, this colorful park features inflatable castles, trampolines, carousels, and train rides to keep kids entertained. Open daily (weather permitting), it ensures endless fun and entertainment for little ones visiting Fuengirola.
Lovely amusement park , it's off season now so it's open from 5pm. There are a lot of activities for kids , and if you plan to visit it multiple times during your stay ,it's a good idea to buy more credits , so for example spend 30€ on the card and you will get a lot of free € credits. So it's better than spending 10€ every day. Thank me later. Toilets present there and food facilities too. Overall a great place , and will make your kids happy. All machines take visa cards or Their card with € top up , and displays remaining balance. It's a bit small but perfect for a quick 30-60min play.

Brilliant entertainment for the child lots to go on not too busy but a good few people around and the place was well able for it, staff lovely and friendly , all the facility’s you could need. Make sure child wearing socks or if you forget you can purchase for €1

We had a great time at Sould Park Fuengirola. My 6-year-old loved every ride! Staff was friendly and everything felt safe and well maintained.
Erika B — Google review
A very nice place to visit with children of different ages. There’s something for everyone to do. Most of the attractions are geared toward younger kids, but even our teenager found it interesting. The staff was absolutely fantastic. I highly praise and recommend this place!
Teele T — Google review
Smart concept (not from point of view for parents though :p) where you buy credit and kids kan play or take rides. There is possibility for drinks and food but i would take that a few streets further. Staff is friendly and really nice they provide toilets as the excitement for the kids can be too much
Lars C — Google review
Perfect fairground for our little one who is 2years 10months, well managed, very clean and staff were very very kind, attentive and understanding. It was a treat for all of us to visit and see the happiness all the different attractions brought her, especially as she's so used to being told she's too small for most things we visit at the moment. Would recommend to anyone with children under 6 or 7 for an evening visit, 10/10, thank you for lovely memories of our holiday!
Marie O — Google review
Nice for families with little children (3-8y). Not many rides and not exactly cheap, but at least the rides themselves are fairly long. An easy hour or two to spend.

Super fun place for kids. My daughter is 5 1/2 and went on all the rides. She loved this park. I can say for kids 3 to 7 years old. A few rides for 2 years old.

Beach
Playa de los Boliches is a vibrant and expansive beach located just east of Fuengirola Beach, renowned for its fine golden sands and crystal-clear waters. This Blue Flag beach is a family favorite, offering an array of amenities such as children's play areas, beach volleyball courts, and water sports rentals. The lively promenade that runs alongside the beach is lined with charming chiringuitos (beach bars), restaurants, and shops where visitors can indulge in fresh seafood and traditional Spanish cuisine.
Nice beach, pretty long shallow beach which is good. Sand is ok typical spanish quality. Nice enviroment, close to restaurants. Water is pretty clear when its calm and have small striped fish sometimes. Maybe possible to snorkel and see more fish.
Masar H — Google review
A beautiful beach in the Fuengirola area. I was able to rent a sunbed and parasol for €7, for one person or €14 for 2 people. The beach is clean with soft dark sand. There is a lifeguard on the beach on some days and possibly daily in high season. The sea is a little steep and it can get a bit ruff on windy days. But still a good beach. ❤️🏖️
Carl K — Google review
The beach is quite good — very large and wide. It has private areas where you can rent sunbeds, but also plenty of free space where you can set up your own umbrella and blanket. There are lifeguard stations along the beach. One thing I found really interesting is that they use drones for beach safety. For the first few days, I kept wondering who was flying drones over the beach and whether they were taking videos or photos. In reality, they were lifeguards monitoring the area from about 100 meters away. There are designated spots for trash disposal and for rinsing your feet, which is convenient. There are also public restrooms on the beach, but as with most public toilets, they are probably very dirty — I didn’t go inside to check. Compared to the beach in Fuengirola, this one has finer sand and feels cleaner. The water entry is very gradual, and the seabed is soft sand with no shells or rocks, making it perfect for families and small children. The atmosphere is calm and relaxed. We didn’t encounter any issues with illegal activities or feel unsafe at any point. Police patrols are quite frequent in the nearby streets, though not necessarily on the beach itself. Overall, it feels safe and pleasant — probably one of the best beaches we’ve visited in Spain so far.
Satirical T — Google review
For us it was an evening beach so there were no crowds and the walk on the soft sand was pleasant. A good place for a long walk or a moment of relaxation with the sound of waves.
Lukasz T — Google review
We enjoyed the beach. It was directly in front of our hotel (Angela). They tirelessly cleaned the beach morning and night. Sun loungers were probably the most comfortable we've used on holiday, they come with a mattress. They cost £7 per lounger for the whole day. Seems like a standard price across the whole beach. The only thing is that they are reservable. So despite us going for 9am when they were absolutely empty we would be kicked off by the attendants for people who had reserved sun loungers. So just keep that in mind. The attendants do also serve you drinks and snacks if you ask. The sand is quite dark and does make your feet quite dirty, it also gets so so so hot! The sea is also quite shallow, so it's waist high right the way out, which I would prefer to be a bit deeper (not that you can do anything about that!). The locals all pile in at the front with their own chairs and parasols, gets pretty busy.

Museum
Finca del Secretario - Centro de Interpretación de las Termas Romanas is a significant archaeological site in Fuengirola, discovered in 1987. The 5,000 square meters area holds remnants of a fish salting factory, pottery workshop, and thermal bath complex from ancient times. Visitors can learn about the historical value of the site and explore Roman ruins with friendly staff providing detailed explanations.
I agree with other posts. If you have any interest in history then well worth a visit. Gate was open as was the cafe (very friendly). Different opening times if you want to catch the Roman Bath information centre (see photo). With imagination you can clearly see the Romans moving about the well explained baths, with different heated rooms and pools. Mosaic courtyard floor still intact. Beside the remains of a fish factory and pottery with kilns visible. Notice boards in Spanish & English + QR code. Small gardens very relaxing.

Amazing place where you can see how they maked garum centuries ago. We have enjoyed this place very much. The museum was free. Its closed at 14.00h. The friendly lady helped us with many information about the Yacimiento. Parking space is really difficult. Its 10 minutes by walking the next street.

The lady in the interpretation center, Jauni, was very informative and friendly. She also spoke English well. Very worthwhile going to the Interpretation center to understand the Roman ruins better.

Fascinating wander around. It's probably open 24/7 as access gate failed. Little cafe on site although shut when we attended. Audio tour a little quiet on the app. But worked.

(Translated by Google) The Finca del Secretario is a small archaeological site that preserves the remains of Roman baths and an industrial villa from the imperial era. The small interpretation center offers information panels and models explaining how the baths, ovens, and garum production worked, along with replicas of pieces found during the excavations. It is a peaceful place where you can appreciate restored mosaics, floors, and walls outdoors, surrounded by well-kept gardens. The visit is quick but informative, ideal for history lovers and a way to complete a cultural tour of Fuengirola. I recommend stopping in the center and then strolling along the nearby seafront promenade. Spanish restaurant
Restaurante Bodega Charolais is a charming culinary gem located in Fuengirola, known for its refined Basque and Andalusian classics. The restaurant offers a cozy space lined with wine shelves as well as a delightful patio for outdoor dining. It is the only restaurant in town listed in the Michelin Guide, making it a must-visit for food enthusiasts. The large sun-trap terrace and cheerful staff add to the joyous atmosphere of this establishment.
The only thing I regret is that we found out just this year about Charolais! Amazing food, great wine list and a team that takes care of the guests in every way!! We went 2x this holiday and took a lot of the daily specials. From the regular menu the Russian salad is the best we had in Fuengirola. We will be back here more often for sure.
WB88 — Google review
We came for my boyfriend’s birthday celebration but we were a bit disappointed. We came here because it was on the Michelin guide. The starters and the drinks were good but the main courses were a bit sad. I ordered the salmon and it was a bit dry and definitely needed something more. My bf ordered a steak and asked for it to be medium rare. First time it came out rare and when he asked to change it, they burnt it. If you go here, maybe don’t order the salmon or the steak. The staff were a bit rude too. I usually don’t give any restaurant 2 star but this one doesn’t deserve any more star. The couple sitting next to us also said they didn’t enjoy thier dinner!
Subhalakshmi D — Google review
We had dinner at Charolais with mixed results. The setting is pleasant and the staff were friendly, but the food was hit or miss. We started with a salad with burrata and the fried aubergines, both quite tasty. The Russian salad was just okay, nothing memorable. Unfortunately, the biggest letdown was the chicken pastela, which we couldn’t even eat. The flavor was unpleasant and completely threw off the meal. Overall, there were some enjoyable bites, but considering the reputation and price point, it fell short of expectations. Worth a visit if you’re curious, but we likely won’t return.
Naomi S — Google review
Came here twice. The first experience was great. Definitely try the millefoies for starter, the salads are very good too. Meat is their speciality. The second time around I wanted to try other things, and I was a bit disappointed. Do not get the pasta: as an Italian I can say that's not pasta. The sauce was very liquid and extremely heavy. Overall good if you pick a quiet night and you know what to select from the menu, otherwise you might end up disappointed.

We came here in recommendation, I must say it was a pleasant surprise. As any nice restaurant they focus on a semi short menu narrow choices but that’s when you can deliver quality. There is something for everyone from meat to fish. The food was seasoned well and had amazing spectra of flavour. We tried a bit of everything. The service staff were attentive and very kind.

You get the freshest and widest range of seafood here, also a very attentive and friendly service. However, when you pay 50-60 euros for dinner, i would expect a better presentation, a bit more vibrant and appetising look. But unfortunately my dinner plate came with a sad looking lonely sole with no real marination other than salt, no dressings, or any souce 😕 . Same story with the octopus starter dish.

Great food. Good service. Over priced. We ate in same dishes in top end restaurants in Malaga city for 40% less. If money isn't an issue go for it. Most of our bills on the trip were 250 to 280. This was 450. Same amount of food and wine.

Mediterranean restaurant
Nestled in a charming corner of a narrow street close to the main church square, Restaurante Bodega La Solera is a delightful culinary haven that showcases the best of local cuisine. With dishes like braised artichokes with ham and shrimp, cured sausage tartare, and eggplant drizzled with sugar cane syrup, it promises an authentic taste experience. The restaurant offers an enticing three-course daily menu paired with half a bottle of wine at an attractive price point.
I am almost speechless! I had high expectations for the place, but they were still exceeded 🥰💪🙏. Really super friendly and expert service. The food was really tasty and the portions were big! Even the tapas portions are big and really good! A strong recommendation to come here to enjoy a party or everyday life!

Great typical Spanish restaurant, mainly visited by local people which is a very good sign. Excellent food and the service is out of this world. Nothing is too much trouble and they take their time to explain the dishes or any questions you may have. Thank you for this wonderful experience.

Don't go here if you have kids, they're not welcome. We booked for four plus a baby, walked in and they gave us the most ridiculous stool with nothing to keep the baby secure. We had to leave and they were smiling and waving as we were leaving like "good riddance". Disappointing to be made to feel so unwelcome after seeking this place out and booking it based on reviews.

Scam restaurant! They brought us bread and butter at the beginning of the meal even though we didn’t ask for it. Then they tried to charge us for it. Never had that happen at a restaurant. Don Julian is a hidden gem in Fuengirola, with fantastic food and service. Pablo is a great asset and very friendly, providing good recommendations - it's a must to visit while staying in Fuengirola!
We had a beautiful family meal at this restaurant while on holiday in Fuengirola. I pre booked the table before the holiday, as there was 12 of us. The chef spoke great English and took time to communicate with me about the table and where would like to sit. The waiting staff were so attentive and helpful. The food was delicious. They also brought my mum some cake for her birthday and sung to her. It was a wonderful meal to end our holiday. Definitely worth a visit if you are in fuengirola.

Had a really lovely meal here after having to leave another restaurant where children obviously weren't welcome. Here they were couldn't have been nicer and have highchairs. Food was lovely, solid cooking, don't miss the unusual patatas bravas and the croquetas. Wines are mass market like most restaurants here, but there's lovely Fino, and service was really fantastic.

We liked our lunch at this restaurant. The tapas selection was extensive and we tried the gazpacho (cold tomato soup) which was amazing. My husband tried the Don Julian burger and that came with grilled goats cheese inside - yum. My grilled dorada with prawns was slightly too oily for my taste, but the fish was fresh. GnTs come with a variety of alco options and the (lager) beer was nice. They also serve olives as a welcome food. Patatas bravas from the tapas selection are nice & garlicky. Staff is friendly and expedient. Overall, a pleasant experience and we’d recommend and come here again. P.s. Most original use of Marilyn on the wc door. Lol.

Not sure why this restaurant has such good reviews. We went there yesterday, local is outdated, waiter was stressed and kept scratching his back and nose while serving food, the hamburger was overcooked and had a strange taste. We left it entire on the plate. Also we specifically said twice no goat cheese on burger - but got served goat cheese anyway. Most strange thing was when we asked for ketchup, they brought us a very old and worn out bottle, and the ketchup came out almost black.

Seafood restaurant
Restaurante la Langosta, a Mediterranean eatery, specializes in delicious seafood and fresh fish meals. The ambiance is warm and unpretentious, adorned with colorful stained glass dating back to the 1960s and a majestic palm tree at the heart of the dining area. The standout dishes include Lobster Thermidor, rice infused with succulent lobster, and an appetizing fried fish platter.
A rare find in Fuengirola, atmosphere, fantastic service and exquisite food. The interior is intriguing and bigger than it looks in the photos, warm light from copper mirrors and stained glass artworks. The music was perfect, 60s classic playing softly in the background setting the scene from when they first opened. The menu is well balanced, each dish the perfect size (enough to enjoy but not too much that you can’t finish the five courses) and every mouthful savoured. We particularly loved the saffron sauce, although everything was delicious and also very reasonable for such a special experience. We will be back the next time we visit!

La Langosta in Fuengirola is a true gem. From the moment you walk in, you feel that classic charm that transports you directly to the golden age of the Costa del Sol. Elegant yet unpretentious, with a cozy atmosphere and warm, attentive service that makes you feel right at home. The food is simply spectacular. The lobster was incredible: fresh and cooked to perfection. Everything was full of flavor and had that traditional touch that's hard to find these days. A must-visit if you're in Fuengirola; you'll want to come back again and again.

Amazing restaurant! Cosy, romantic, fancy... We enjoyed the music and the service. Our server was especially good, very proper. We had the Shrimp with Garlic for a starter and the Grilled Lobster with Hot Butter for our main course; it was absolutely fantastic. Price was around €45 for a lobster (as in the picture) and our total was around €133, for a wine bottle, lobster, and prawns. It was the first time having lobster for one of us, so we asked how we were supposed to cut it and so on - we got great help. The wine was delicious with the lobster. You really can't get away from the fantastic smell of the shrimp and lobster. This restaurant really knows their sea food! Thank you for the excellent service and food!

This was absolutely the best meal we have had in our 3 week holiday, wish we’d come sooner so we could visit again! I had the lobster bisque, which was divine, and the pork fillet in Pedro Jimenez sauce, also divine, the pork was melt in the mouth and SO tasty. Hubbie had scallops gratin, and John Dory with lobster which he very much enjoyed (I tasted a scallop and it was delicious!) As someone else pointed out, the food service is slow, which I think is down to the fact they do not have a large kitchen, but, who’s in a hurry on holiday? This is cooking as it should be done, and it’s definitely worth a little wait😋 We can’t wait to return In fact, we couldn’t resist booking again for tonight, as it’s our last night and the food was SO good I will update review again tomorrow 😊

What a find ... beautiful small restaurant .. Great lobster and service .About 45 Euro for full lobster .. so ££££ but worth the treat .. Also provide an economy set menu under 20 euro which looked great value .. Booking essential ... We will return.

Can’t recommend this place enough, excellent service. Food was amazing. My steak was cooked to perfection. My partner had chicken, huge portion size. Quaint little side street restaurant, cosy, loved the old style music. Fantastic. Five stars
