This palace is iconic and a must visit while visiting Paris! This palace is so grand and huge that you start to understand why the French Revolution took off while walking around. This palace is very magnificent and gorgeous. There is so much detail put into the architecture, the paintings, garden, and rooms. You should buy tickets ahead of time while coming here and plan to spend the majority of your day here. Be aware of the massive crowds, they can be really big and you may feel like a packed sardine in some of the rooms here.
We went to see Palace of Versailles as a group. The place is beautiful. The gardens are equally impressive and massive; renting a golf. We rented a golf cart, it was well worth the money to explore comfortably. We made reservations in advance, we waited around 20–30 minutes to get inside. Everything was impressive. The negative part is the crown inside. But once in the garden it was so much better.
This was one of the most impressive places I have seen with my own eyes! I have a landscape engineering degree and the palace gardens were often referred to in books, by teachers and were always a source of inspiration. I’m really glad I got to see them in real life. My partner proposed on a boat on the canal, it was all very romantic (I said yes!). The palace interior and expositions were also quite impressive, I was in awe the whole time.
Absolutely stunning palace with a fascinating history. Highly recommend Stephanie from Paris to versailles. We booked via Viator. She was amazing, amusing and speaks multiple languages. Also recommended getting a golf cart to see the gardens and time it to see a fountain operating. Times are on Versailles site but Stephanie organised it perfectly. The fountains do not operate during colder months due to freezing pipes. Gardens close too. See my photos for golf cart hire location. The gardens would look better in spring but that’s the joy of the first ever formal garden- stunning all year round. Take your license. The most amusing part of our visit was all of the TikTokers and Instagramers. So self indulgent and very very funny.
The castle itself is amazing too, but this time it was the Versailles Opera. Small venue, but that makes it cozy and beautiful. The services in terms of infrastructure, such as the cloakroom and buffet, are minimal, only one of each. Not too good for the crowd; expect lines and queues. The rest is wonderful and beautiful as expected.
This Palace was truely beautiful and I highly recommend. As a group of four we did the tour and saw 12 rooms out of the 2,300 and a bit of history with the tour. They were very good with safety and supportive to English. You could get the tour in several languages and the rooms were amazing. Very beautiful, only downside is its huge populatarity so it was quite overcrowded considering it's Autum/Winter here in France. Good option for a tourist. Very pretty. Merci beaucoup.
We spent about a day and a half exploring Versailles and absolutely loved it. Here are a few tips that might make your visit smoother: The Passport ticket is the best value since it gives you access to everything — the main palace, gardens, and both the Grand and Petit Trianon. I had originally bought tickets just for the Trianons, but discovered you also need Musical Gardens tickets to walk through the gardens to get there. Otherwise, you’d have to walk all the way around the perimeter and hope to find an open gate. Get an audio guide or download one on your phone since the signs are in French. The guided tours start around 9:30 a.m. — just check the language. I mistakenly booked the Private Apartments tour in French but used the Google Translate app to follow along (it worked surprisingly well, though it uses a lot of data). The tour meets in the Ministers’ Building to the right of the main entrance, up the stairs. After our tour, the audio guide line was over 30 minutes long, so get it first thing in the morning. Later in the day, around 4 p.m., the crowds thinned out and there was no line. If you have limited time, start with the Grand Trianon and Petit Trianon. They’re smaller, more personal, and give you a sense of royal life away from the main palace. The Grand Trianon was the king’s retreat; the Petit Trianon, Marie Antoinette’s, is charmingly modest. It’s about a 30–45 minute walk through the gardens, or you can take the tram for a small fee. The gardens are enormous — we walked about 6 to 9 miles. You’ll see manicured trees, fountains, statues, and even a lake with boats. On certain days, the Musical Gardens feature classical music playing from hidden speakers, adding a lovely atmosphere. Bring a hat and water. There are some restaurants and a bathroom, but there can be a very long line. If possible, take a guided tour — it gives you access to areas not open to general visitors, like the King’s private study, reception rooms, and the beautiful royal chapel (where general admission visitors can only peek in from the doorway). Plan for a lot of walking and wear comfortable shoes. There are golf carts you can rent by the hour to cover more of the garden than by foot. Versailles is vast, breathtaking, and full of history — an unforgettable experience well worth taking the time to explore fully.
The Versailles Castle is a beautiful building with stunning views but if you only have a little time in Paris this is not a must see. The inside has some stunning rooms with beautiful furniture and paintings. The view of the garden from the second floor is exceptional. The gardens and lakes are a really good choice if you’re visiting with your family. The only downside of the palace are the giant crowds in the rooms and by the toilets, so you have to be patient. The tickets were about 60€ for adults and 0€ for children (Attention! The garden is not free for children, it’s 10€)

Slide 1 of 8
Hall of Mirrors is the most famous and beautiful room of Versailles palace. It runs along the palace main wing on the first floor overlooking the gardens. It is lavishly decorated in mirrors (as the name says), gilded statues and marvelous chandeliers. Beside its beauty the room is known as the place where the peace treaty was signed ending the WWI. We've been lucky being there on a cloudy Jan day just before the closing time with very few people, having it almost to ourselves (see the pics)
An excellent example of art of opulence, and how it's blending of the paintings, frescoes, sculptures, and mirrors makes this a grand section of the palace. Word of advice, go to the far end of the hall to get a better photo opportunity
It was magnificent. I didn't know where to look because each part was breathtaking. It was the most crowded room after the king's chamber.
An absolutely breathtaking masterpiece and one of the highlights of the entire Palace of Versailles. The Galerie des Glaces is even more impressive in person than in photos: the sparkling chandeliers, the endless mirrors, the gilded decorations, and the light pouring in from the gardens create a truly unforgettable atmosphere. Walking through the hall feels like stepping straight into the heart of French royal history. A bit of history & curiosities: • The Hall of Mirrors was completed in 1684 under Louis XIV, the Sun King. • It was designed by architect Jules Hardouin-Mansart and decorated by Charles Le Brun, the king’s favorite artist. • At the time, mirrors were extremely rare and expensive. Filling an entire hall with them was both a political message and a symbol of France’s economic power, proving that French craftsmanship could rival and surpass Venice, the world’s leading mirror producer. • The hall served as the main stage for royal ceremonies, diplomatic receptions, and major court events. • One of the most important events in world history took place here: the signing of the Treaty of Versailles in 1919, which ended World War I. • The hall is 73 meters long and reflects the gardens through its 17 windows, creating a unique play of light that was revolutionary for its time.
Nothing prepares you for the Hall of Mirrors. You step in and it’s pure gold, light, and grandeur — a place so over-the-top it almost feels unreal. The chandeliers catch the daylight pouring in from the arched windows, reflecting across 357 mirrors. And that ceiling? A heavenly opera of painted glory and divine ego. I had seen a million photos of it before visiting, but standing inside it hits different. It’s not just a room, it’s a statement — about wealth, power, ambition, and the sheer audacity of French Baroque.
Nice mirrors, terrible hospitality — they made my buddies (Müller and Bell) sign some papers here...another friend of them with cute mustache didn't like it and joined politics in Germany..!
The Hall of Mirrors has seen so much. It was where the Treaty of Versailles, that ended WWI and arguably started WWII was signed. It was where the German Empire started in 1871. It was where Kim and Kanye hosted their rehearsal dinner here back in 2014, arguably the most important historical event that took place here to date. The thing that stuck with me the most though on the tour here, was when the mob of peasants marched on the Palace of Versailles in 1789 and saw themselves for the first time in these mirrors. Obviously they had seen their reflections in bodies of water here and there, but this had to be the first time they’d really got a good look at themselves. That just completely blew my mind. It sent me into a full existential crisis. It got me thinking about life back then compared to now. What would life be like if we could never see ourselves? Probably much better. We’d never really worry about whether we look good or not. I’d get so much time back in the day. Could be way more productive. But then I realized I’d more than likely be a peasant, getting shafted by the French government left and right. You’d only know what they want you to know. You’d just be busting your ass on the farm all day, giving loot to the government and getting damn near nothing in return. But maybe I’d be happier? Life was so much simpler… and I am happiest in the simple times, when I’m not worried about what I could be doing to push my tech sales career forward. Who knows. I go back and forth all day. I’m eternally grateful to be born at the time I am, but maybe I’d be happier with life being so much simpler? Everything involves some sort of sacrifice. See what the Hall of Mirrors did to me? Sent me down this crazy spiral smh. IG @johnny.novo Tiktok @jnov__ Substack @johnnynovo

My favourite place when visiting the estate of Versailles. I visited the Palace of Versailles the Grand Trianon the Petit Trianon and finally Marie Antoinette’s hamlets. It really brings you into a different world and allows you to get a feeling of the more bucolic life outside of the blinding grandeur of the Palace of Versailles. The aesthetic coherency was so satisfying.
My friend and I originally went to the Versailles gardens with no intention to go tour the Trianon. However, when she said she loved Marie Antoinette I immediately searched how far it was and realized it was just a walk away. We only intended to see Marie Antoinette’s Cottage but instead we got a wonderful tour of the Trianon and don’t regret it at all. It was wonderful!
This place was beautiful! If you are going to Versailles you should definitely check this place out as well. The gardens are well kept and lovely. It's a quaint picture of farm living filled with hidden gems.
This was one of my favorite stops on the bike tour we took of Versailles. Marie Antoinette's little play village. It reminds me a lot of Disney. A pretend-land.
This is not a hoax and it does exist (see my photos). Most likely it is a constructed cave and the museum has one light in there so you can see what it looks like. It is hard find but you can do it using Google Maps. You will see some primitive paths where GPS has taken others to find it. There is a more formal trail built by the museum but it is hard to find the entrance for it. After all of that, there really isn't much to see. The most interesting thing to me is that Marie A. was interested in grotto's at all.
This is very out of the way but 1,000% worth it. I walked around to avoid paying the stupid garden ticket. The garden was barren. Why would I pay to look at a large under construction garden?
Worth a short walk from the Versailles castle or even the Hop on Hop off Bus out to visit this place.
better take some bicycle or rented car available in the palace to go yo this grotto..after walking in gardens till the end you wont have patience or interest to visit this grotto or maries estate

What a magnificent garden !!! wish we had more time to explore it and enjoy the view . There was quite a long queue for the golf cart rentals, and a driver’s license was required. The cost wasn’t cheap either: €42 per vehicle per hour, plus €10.50 for every additional 15 minutes. Instead, we opted for two tickets on the hop-on, hop-off mini train, which turned out to be a great choice. The ride took about 50 minutes for a full lap around the garden and was a wonderful way to see the grounds. It’s definitely worth coming back just to spend more time in the gardens and at the Grand Trianon.
Beautiful gardens with a very easy to understand map to get around! We were disappointed to see most fountains were off, aside from the 3 that are part of the Musical Gardens display, but the beauty of the well-kempt grounds made up for that! A nice plus was being able to being our supplies to have a picnic spread in a designated area.
Visiting the Gardens of Versailles and the Grand Canal was an amazing experience. The scale and beauty of the gardens are truly stunning. Designed by André Le Nôtre in the 17th century for Louis XIV, they show the king’s wish for order, balance, and perfection. Every path, tree, and fountain is carefully planned, making the entire space look 1st-class and top-class amazing from every angle. Walking through the gardens, you can really feel their history. This is where kings, queens, and courtiers once strolled, surrounded by sculptures, flowerbeds, and water features. The fountains, some of which still use the original water system, are breath-taking when they are running. The symmetry and precision of the layout make the gardens one of the most impressive examples of classical French design ever created. The Grand Canal, stretching more than a kilometer, is one of the most superb parts of Versailles. It was used for boating and royal events, and even now, you can rent a small boat to enjoy the calm water and perfect views of the palace. Standing there, looking back toward the palace, you understand why the Gardens of Versailles are part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The combination of the gardens and the Grand Canal makes Versailles not only one of the most beautiful palaces in the world but also home to one of the most remarkable landscapes ever designed. It’s a place of harmony, history, and elegance—truly breath-taking to visit. Mame sure you have a suitablr footwear on as there is a lot of walking around through the grounds.
We spent nearly two hours strolling through the garden, and it was a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of Paris. Despite the summer heat, the shade from the trees, the coolness of the water features, and the lush greenery made the experience thoroughly enjoyable. The fountains, each uniquely designed, added unparalleled elegance, while intricately carved marble statues dotted the landscape. Some sections of the garden feature patterned lawns that create breathtaking views from the tops of wide staircases. As you walk along the path, the distant view of the palace adds to the grandeur. Overall, it was a lovely and leisurely walk through an opulent garden, beautifully maintained and rich in detail.
These Gardens are absolutely spectacular, but make sure you wear comfy shoes as they literally go on for miles. Thankfully, we took the train that took us around and dropped us off at different places. Otherwise I can’t even imagine. I will say we spent a whole day here at the palace in the gardens and I would definitely come back to explore the gardens anymore because I feel like we didn’t see half of it.
Gorgeous manicured gardens, with sprawling mazes and beautiful fountains and statuary. You can blissfully wander for hours, finding new alcoves and statuary. It can get very hot with limited shade in some areas. I recommend bringing a hat or umbrella for shade. The fountains only run on the weekends, and the crowds were about the same when we were there on a Thursday and then the following Saturday.
Here's the deal: If you are doing the ride all the way to Versailles, just pay to see the gardens as well. The palace is gorgeous, but it is only made more impressive thanks to it's MASSIVE gardens. Take into consideration that if you do see the gardens, Versailles will basically be a full day trip for you, so if you really are running around trying to see everything in Paris and are dying to see Versailles, I would say to skip Versailles entirely and just come on a second trip, since the gardens are actually worth it. Think this: if you do both the palace and the gardens, your time will go up to 3-4 hours total in Versailles, maybe more if you walk all the way to Marie Antoinette's residence. Considering the ride there and back, you will end up using around 6 hours, instead of 3, if you only did the castle. Long story short: the ride there alone makes the gardens worth it.
The Gardens of Versailles are an expansive masterpiece of formal French landscaping, designed by André Le Nôtre in the 17th century. Their geometric lawns, grand fountains, and ornamental groves were intended to reflect the power and order of Louis XIV’s reign

Beautiful chapel that is open to view during the public tour. Rich in history and architecture, it was a real beauty to see.
It's the first hall ones you start the tour inside the palace. It was breathtaking. Everywhere is decorated with gold. The ceiling had amazing paintings. I loved it but it was as crowded.
Amazing!!! HELLO from Florida! Can't wait to visit some day - till then, we hope you all the best! Cheers!!!!
One of the most divine spaces I’ve ever stepped into — and I don’t say that lightly. The Royal Chapel inside Versailles makes you pause the second you enter. It’s like standing inside a painting. The towering white columns, the golden organ, and that absolutely insane ceiling fresco — your neck will hurt from staring up, but it’s worth every second. Even in a palace as overwhelming as Versailles, this chapel holds its own. It somehow feels both monumental and serene, echoing with a sense of power, pageantry, and sacredness. I imagined the kings attending Mass here, under a ceiling that literally opens to heaven. Pure drama, pure beauty.
Royal chapel is indeed the most epic interior in the entire castle of versailles. Truly amazed by this architectural excellence
The Royal Chapel is the third thing we liked best in the palace of Versailles, just after the Hall of Mirrors and the Battle room. The Chapel is pretty big, made on two levels and it strongly reminds me on the Paris' Saint Chapel, although it does not have such amazing stained glass. You cannot enter it, just observe it from the entrance.
Nice to see when visiting Versailles. You cannot get in, just see it from the entrance.
The royal palace chapel is an outstanding example of French baroque architecture. It is the last of the five chapels of the Versailles Palace and the last major building project by King Louis XIV. It was completed in 1710 and is now mainly used as a concert hall.

Beautiful area and temple.
Ig: @oursceneos A spectacular classical-style sculpture rises gracefully, evoking the allure of an ancient circular temple. Set in a beautifully bucolic scene near the Petit Trianon and the Queen's Hamlet, this artwork captures the timeless elegance of these historic landscapes. The sculpture’s harmonious lines blend seamlessly with the serene surroundings, inviting onlookers to step back in time and experience the tranquility of this picturesque haven.
A beautifully romantic spot inside the gardens of the Petit Trianon. The Temple de l’Amour is one of the prettiest and most peaceful corners of Versailles—delicate, elegant, and surrounded by greenery and water. It’s a lovely place to pause, take photos, or simply enjoy the calm atmosphere away from the crowds of the main palace. The white marble columns and the central statue give it a timeless charm, and the setting feels almost like a scene from a painting. A bit of history & curiosities: • The Temple de l’Amour was built in 1778 for Marie Antoinette, as part of her private gardens at the Petit Trianon. • It was designed by the architect Richard Mique, who created many of the queen’s favorite retreats. • At its center stands a statue representing Cupid carving his bow from the club of Hercules, symbolizing the triumph of love. • The structure was meant to embody the refined, intimate style that Marie Antoinette loved—far from the rigid ceremonial life of the main palace.
A place fit for Marie Antoinette. The view is just superb from inside the temple sitting on an island, surrounded by the English river. It must have been quite eye-catching back in the day. It still is preserved very well.
In love with Versailles and everything that has to offer. This classical statue is semi-hidden ...but you'll notice it as soon as you try to reach Queen's Hamlet
Beautiful and peaceful temple next to Petit Trianon. Don’t forget to give your love a kiss here, it will be a moment to remember.
This place is so beautiful. Make sure to rent a bike if you can afford to so you can explore everything in one day. Best place to rent a bike is at the tourist office of versailles. Don't underestimate how massive this whole place is, walking from the Chateau to the Grand Trianon takes like 30 minutes if you walk it. Reserve one full day if you want to visit everything here.

Not sure if the Opera de Versailles is free to visit on Sundays or free everyday, and even if it isn't, the Opera House is definitely worth a visit. Unlike the Paris Opera, you can visit the entire ring(colossus?) and walk in front of the stage. Or you can just sit in the Opera, with the staff's commentary, you can feel the chambers of the king of French and nobles. You can take your kids to listen to the popular science of the staff. But remember to keep quiet when passing by the actor's rehearsal room🤫
Amazing experience and such an iconic opera!
We were lucky on our Versailles tour, to have an opportunity to see the Royal Opera house. I never thought it was so big, but still very beautiful.
Amazing performance but the building in itself is already worth visiting. It always feels like a mini holiday coming here
One of the most beautiful Opera in the world. The Opera is very different from others because it was built for the King Louis XIV and his closest friends : there is only 600 places and should be compared to Palais Garnier (1979) or Bastille (2745).
Amazingly picturesque place. I could have spent hours in there, and having just found out that shows are run at the Opera House in Versailles, it makes me want to plan a trip around watching something in that beautiful hall. Absolutely breathtaking.
This is the eighteenth-century opera house in the north wing of the château, past the Chapel Royal. A true 'jewel-box' theatre, this is as beautiful a venue as you would expect here. Château de Versailles Spectacles runs an excellent programme here, including concerts and staged operas - see the website for more details!
Fantastic place to enjoy Operas and plays (in French though). You feel as if you were sitting with the King 300 years ago. Look at the program and do not hesitate the buy a seat. It is well worth it.

Ornate gallery of statues & huge paintings tracing 15 centuries of French military exploits.
Slide 1 of 8
An amazing and interesting gallery within the Palace of Versailles, with sculptures and huge paintings aligning the walls that honor and commemorate France's military history, one of the best places in the palace.
The most famous interior of the Grand Palace of Versailles. Well, what can I say and the most beautiful. Built on the site of an open terrace. The gallery is 73 meters long, 10.5 meters wide and 12.3 meters high to the vault lock. On one side of the gallery there are 17 huge windows, and on the other side there are mirror arches of the same shape. Each of the seventeen arches contains twenty-one mirrors, a total of 357 mirrors. Impressive.
Th is is a really cool art gallery that shows some of the history of the famous French battles. We notice it the first time we visit Versailles in 2012, but this was an awesome and a must see gallery!!
It is a spacious hallway which depicts the battles in French history by artistic drawings that are hung on the wall. The outside passage consists of sculptures which are related to French history. It is yet another section not to be missed at the Versailles Palace.
One of the most impressive things about this room is not just the gigantic size of the paintings, but that they all have almost the same height, making it appear well-fitted on the walls. It was designed by Louise-Philippe and depicts 15 centuries of battles from the entire French history. So much history.
The best gallery that i have ever been in my life. Trough this huge room the France histary is narrated by huge paints from 500 B.C. until the 1800 B.C. It is more large than the mirror gallery and according to me it is more beatifull and well made!
This gallery of battle is a historical hall for glorifying the battle of France military in the old days.
Amazing galleries of battles! If each picture had a description of how the battle went, that would be perfect! Beautiful :)

Louis XIV-designed buildings built as a more human-scale counterpoint to Versailles palace.
Slide 1 of 8
Grand Trianon was absolutely stunning. Love the pink facade and all the marble. It is very grand and would be an attraction on its own. Don't forget to walk out the back to see the gardens and the lake. It's a lot less crowded here and you can really breathe and enjoy the scenery.
Very much worth visiting. It is much less crowded than the main palace, you can actually breathe here. Also it is really beautiful and has an interesting history. I definitely recommend visiting the grand Trianon! Also the treaty of Trianon which partitioned Hungary after WW1 was signed here!
Definitely suggest coming out to see the Grand Trianon. The gardens were beautiful, especially the flower garden that was blooming like crazy still in October. The interior is also very pretty and since it’s on such a much smaller scale, it’s easier to get to really look at everything.
A truly elegant and serene part of the Versailles estate. Le Grand Trianon feels like a completely different world compared to the main palace—quieter, lighter, and wonderfully refined. The pink marble colonnades, the long terraces, and the perfectly aligned gardens create a beautiful and calming atmosphere. Walking through the rooms is a pleasure: everything is airy, harmonious, and designed with a sense of intimacy that contrasts with the grandeur of the main château. A bit of history & curiosities: • Le Grand Trianon was built in 1687 by Louis XIV as a private retreat away from the strict etiquette of Versailles. • It is often called the “Marble Trianon” because of its pink marble columns and decorative stonework. • Unlike the main palace, this residence was meant for peace, privacy, and smaller gatherings. • Later, Napoleon Bonaparte restored and used it, and many of the interiors today reflect his taste and period. • The architecture by Jules Hardouin-Mansart is considered one of the purest examples of French classicism—balanced, elegant, and beautifully proportioned. A wonderful place to visit if you want to enjoy the quieter, more intimate side of Versailles. Absolutely worth seeing.
The Grand Trianon is a smaller palace located inside the Versailles estate, to the right of Grand Canal. It was built in 1687 by architect Jules Hardouin-Mansart for King Louis XIV, who wanted a quiet place away from the main court. The building is known for its pink marble columns, elegant design, and large windows that look out onto the gardens. Inside, you can visit several restored rooms, including the Mirror Room, Louis XIV’s bedroom, the Empress’s Apartment, and Napoleon’s rooms from the early 1800s. The furniture and decorations reflect both the 17th-century royal style and the later Empire style used by Napoleon. The gardens around the palace are beautiful and peaceful, with symmetrical flowerbeds and views over the Grand Canal. It’s much less crowded than the main Château, so you can take your time walking through. It takes about 20-30 minutes to walk from the main Versailles Palace, or you can take the petit train that runs through the park. The visit usually takes 30–45 minutes. It’s a great place to learn about how French kings and later Napoleon used Versailles not only for ceremony but also for private life.
IMPORTANT NOTE: AUDIO GUIDE ON APP WORKS HERE AS WELL. The pink marble goes crazy, such a pretty villa. A lot smaller than the Palace but still boasts a pretty garden. Definitely worth visiting, considering the nearby Petite Trianon as well, plus the villa has a much more homely feel compared to the main palace. It is also a lot less crowded, though the walk over can take more than half an hour.
Napoleon lived here (and did many others). It is will preserved and maintained. I highly recommend walking around the grounds as well.

Versailles DO THIS - go to the market, buy cheese, wine, pastries or whatever you love and do a picnic by Grand Canal. You will need to rent bikes or a golf carts or better yet do a bike tour. A great experience, much better to see all of Versailles than just the palace
Love the market, great, fresh produce. But walk around, as there are really large price gaps between stands, for similar products. So whenever you come to Versailles, visit the market, but try to be early
Visited on a Sunday morning. Lively market, highly recommended especially for the grilled chicken, pies, and macchiato from the mobile coffee shop. The Notre-Dame Market in Versailles (Marché Notre-Dame) is one of the most vibrant and historic markets in the Île-de-France region. Located just a short walk from the Palace of Versailles, it dates back to the time of King Louis XIV, who established it in the late 17th century to serve the growing population of the new royal city. Today, it continues to be a beloved local hub for fresh produce, artisanal products, and a taste of authentic French market culture. Set in a charming square with arcaded buildings, the market consists of both indoor and outdoor sections. Inside the covered halls, you'll find a wide range of goods—from fresh cheeses, meats, seafood, and baked goods to fine wines and prepared dishes. Outside, colorful stalls are filled with fruits, vegetables, flowers, and local specialties. The market is busiest on Tuesdays, Fridays, and especially Sundays, when it becomes a lively gathering place for locals and tourists alike. Beyond shopping, the Notre-Dame Market offers a cultural experience. The friendly vendors, the smell of fresh bread and herbs, and the bustle of people create a true French atmosphere. It's also a great place to pick up picnic supplies before visiting the Palace gardens or simply to enjoy a leisurely morning exploring Versailles like a local. Whether you're looking to try regional delicacies, buy high-quality ingredients, or just soak in the charm of a historic French market, the Notre-Dame Market is a must-visit spot in Versailles.
Oh my goodness! This market is a dream for anyone. Whether you are a tourist, a chef, or anyone just passing by, the market is crazy to visit. They have many shops selling meats, cheeses, vegetables, desserts, and fish. The indoor stalls are arranged around a ring of buildings, so it's easy to walk around. I, especially, thought the dessert shop was mouthwatering. It's a shame I didn't get a chance to try the desserts. Next time...
First stop before you go to The Palace of Versailles. Get some cheese, bread, dip, fruit and wines for picnic in the garden or by the lakes. Wonderful experience.
Great selection of cheese, fruit, vegetables, and already prepared foods. All vendors we encountered were very kind and could speak either English or Spanish. Great stop after visiting the palace… highly recommend.
Huge selection of fruits, vegetables, nuts, cheese and more. Loud of options and a very lovely atmosphere. A must visit!
Had fresh yummy crepes here in the inside shops. Fresh ingredients from other stores, like smoked salmon.... Stall owner does not speak English but has English menu for ordering. Friendly and recommended to try it.

Showcase of ornate, historic horse-drawn coaches across from the Palace of Versailles.
Slide 1 of 8
This museum has an excellent collection of horse drawn carriages, visited during the weekend and I got to see and learn about the old methods of transport that were used by the powers of both royal, imperial and presidential rule. A complete enjoyable visit to this place, and glad we came at the right time after our visit to the Palace of Versailles.
A great little "bonus" that came with our tickets to Versailles. It's just across the road and only takes 10-15 minutes to walk through. Very cool to see various carriages, coaches and sleds that were used and had such history to them!
Interesting and for free! The stables and carriages of the Kings are very impressive. They have sledges and baby carriages, too. Also a funeral carrige is on display. A carriage with eight horses shows ow impressive and big the carriages were. Most of the cars were produced for the wedding of Napoleon. They really travelled in style. When you look to the luxurious interior of the carriges. Really great that no entrance is charged. #parisforfree
Cool place, especially if you are a big fan of history of transports. An amazing place where to come to see the most iconic and beautiful French coaches (where the coaches born apparently) and where there is the beautiful Napoleon coache. Have a look, you can buy it togheter with the Versailles ticket for a few euro extra. On my opinion, a curious visit to do
I liked the fact that this gallery is located in a different building than the palace itself. That means that it doesn't attract many visitors, just the ones that are really interested in this exhibition. I also liked the fact that for every coach there was info on the occassion and the date it was used. If you beleive this review has been helpful for you, please don’t forget to press the 👍 button. Thank you.
This is a free gallery that I believe is open only in the weekend. It's great! I've never seen such beautiful coaches before. Definitely worth a visit after the palace.
If you are visiting paris and versailles palace precisely you must not miss on paasing by the gallery of coaches it’s a very fun experience looking at the huge carriages wwith their detailed decorations and stories download the guide to the palace from the app provided on the website and you will find a chapter explaining all about the gallery, because it’s a bit far from the palace you’re not gonna be allowed with the audio guide provided from the palace there because you technically are going to go out from the palace.
We stumbled upon this museum after seeing the line outside Versailles....crazy long! This is a treat to see. If you have children, this is a great place to introduce them to art of engineering and skills of artistry. These coaches are elegant and real eye pleasers. It's free to get in, quick to get through and filled with wonder.

This Westfield was probably the most clean and well organised one that I’ve been to in France so far. The Christmas Decorations were absolutely gorgeous, better than in Galleries Lafayette.
It's a very nice mall. There were som many brands with different price ranges so it's suitable for everyone. You'll also find many restaurants and cafés. I found a shop for Lindt chocolate where you can make your own selection. I also bought some stuff from Decathlon and took my cappuccino at Paul so my visit was perfect.
Westfield Parly 2 is hands down one of the best shopping malls in Île-de-France! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a clean, modern, and beautifully designed space that makes shopping feel like a true luxury experience. The mall offers a wide variety of high-end boutiques, international brands, and popular fashion retailers, making it a dream destination for fashion lovers like myself. Whether you’re hunting for the latest trends or timeless pieces, this place has it all. Clean restrooms, ample parking, and seamless access via public transport make visiting even more convenient. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, Westfield Parly 2 is a must-visit shopping destination near Paris.
Very nice mall, cute shops
Fantastic place for shopping, clean, neat, most of brands such as Zara home , kiabi, BHS &Fnac Hemi - many other shops are available. I recommande it to everyone . Really I enjoyed it.
Love this shopping centre! It had the perfect mix of high street and high end. Beautifully presented in a modern and chic design. The options for restaurant are lacking as it was all cafe's! Very secure with a guard checking every bag upon entrance. Would defiantly go again!
Great place clean and you can find all you need. It is up there in level same or even better than La Défense
I love this shopping center so easy to get around and many choices

Beautiful 17th century cathedral in the center of Versailles. A must see either before or after you visit to Chateau de Versailles and the gardens of Versailles. A very calming, historic and religious experience.
Very historic and worth a visit if you are around. Don't expect too large or complex architecture.
Received communion here! Fantastic welcoming church! Incredible ceremony! This is holy ground. Shook hands with the clergy after the ceremony! Very friendly and welcoming church!
My husband and I were strolling around and found this neoclassical church. It's so exquisite and peaceful and beautiful. The presence is very calming. There were a few local parishioners in prayer. I highly recommend it.
There was a service inside so unfortunate we were not able to visit.
It's a beautiful chapel that should be visited when you're visiting the city. It has great paintings and colorful windows. It truly reflect the city's heritage.
It’s a very beautiful church

It is incredible that you can find a place in the park that serves their quality of food. It is not cheap by any standard and the menu doesnt often change, but what they do, they do well and all that with an amazing view of Paris nearby
Everything was really amazing! So nice place for lunch!
A cosy restaurant located right inside Parc Saint Cloud that makes you feel like you are right in the middle of the forest. It boast a huge al fresco dining area and also a small indoor dining area making it very good for large parties or events. Not easy to access unless you have a car or you can always take a walk. The food is mediocre nothing much to rave about. I ordered the ceviche, it’s french but was too heavy on the vinegar. Chicken was dry and rough although the sauce was creamy and flavourful. Overall, it’s a nice place to chill and enjoy the space with a group. Food : ⭐️⭐️ Service : ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Ambiance : ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Value for money : ⭐️⭐️⭐️
This resonates al fresco and the outdoors to a new level. The steak was juicy and divine. The fish was fresh and salad.
This place is worth coming out of your way for. The service was unbelievable and the vibe is beautiful. True Parisian style. Love it!
This is a quaint restaurant in the middle of St. Cloud Park. They have a wonderful selection of crepes. We had the banana, chocolate, coconut and it was amazing. A nice beverage selection too. Priced reasonably.
Calm and relaxing place, for brunches and lunches. An alternative to picnicking in the parc or to complete your promenade with a nice and refreshing drink or coffee. The surroundings are wonderful, the terrace very cosy if the weather allows. Service is variable, from typical “Parisian”, to professional and kind. Strongly recommended if you are visiting Saint Cloud.
What a beautiful location! Loved the setting and the people. Food was decent too.
