One of highest natural places in Denmark. They have removed trees from some slopes to enable nice views towards Silkebork lakes.
High place in Denmark, it was really nice view from there🍃🍃❤️❤️
Very nice place for short trip from Silkeborg.
Super nice! 🤩😍🥰
Simple and easy trek. Signs are posted along the way, so zero chance of getting lost. Ry is the closest station with connecting inter-city metro/tram/bus. But the frequency is not so good, so plan your trek well. The view from the top of Himmel Mountain is beautiful.
Mountain where gods lived as Danish legend... Worth to visit beautiful place.. beautiful view.. beautiful hiking trails and lots of crowded.
Tallest mountain of Denmark and a really beautiful place to go for a weekend trip!
Nice view and surroundings. Easy to park, and also accessible by wheelchair

Ejer Bavnehøj is the third-highest natural point in Denmark (170.35 m). At its summit is a 13 m tall tower, built in 1924, commemorating the reunion of the south of Jutland with the rest of Denmark after the First World War. Historically Ejer Bavnehøj was mostly known as a site for a beacon where signal-fires were lit in order to warn the military and local population if the enemy were on the way. Entry tricket for the tower costs 10 DKK paid by MobilPay.
Ejer Bavnehøj is really a visit worth. The best is thus Møllehøj Denmarks higest naturally point just ~ 500 meter walk over a field
Not much to see, but if you’re driving past then it’s worth the stop.
Beautiful sight in the evening.
(Translated by Google) At 170.35m it is the third highest natural elevation in Denmark. The monument to the reunification of North Schleswig with Denmark is easily accessible in a quiet environment near Skanderborg. It can be visited free of charge in the early season. There are enough parking spaces available. There is a kiosk (closed in the low season) and a toilet is also available. A small park with a circular path surrounds the tower. When the weather is good the view is certainly excellent, although it was a bit hazy when we visited.

Historical interesting place with ruins, real skeletons, medicinal and toxic herbs
For me as someone who is very curious about the history of the smaller unknown places this speck on the the map we found only as a ruin symbol on out travel map. This was a great surprise. They have had extensive excavations over the years. And many things they found have been preserved in a small museum building on site also the first hand evidence of runes still being used so late in the middle ages is an interesting thing to be able to witness. And the old herb garden (with some herbs that were actually the plants thet they found growing in the wild after so many hundred years!) Is a very cool fact. Overall the area is beautiful to visit and hike in anyway dont forget to visit the museum when you're here.
Cool little museum. As I arrived on Saturday 10.30 nobody was there and the museum was shut as apparently someone has forgotten to come. Luckily the super friendly gardener could let those wanting to visit into the park and the exhibition! I liked the museum, it's a small place (at least comparatively to other places in Europe), but for someone trying to understand Danish history better actually holds some significance. The park is nice to walk through and the exhibition quite well done. It is a pre, but not a must to be able to read Danish.
Small museum located on the site of a monastery ruin. Informative posters in the main building. Otherwise you walk around in what used to be the church imagining how the church and houses were situated and looked. On this day of our visit there was the annual festival about knights and armours. With very friendly informers and interactive as the armours and some weapons was available to touch and you could be dressed as a knight.
Quite interesting, even if it's only the outlines of the monastery left. The museum bit was brilliant and very informative
A ruin of a monetary. Only parts of the foundations remain. Skeletons and medical herbs on display. The guided tour is good but not all ways available.
A very clear illustration of how important this part of Denmark was
Dull, if you are not a ruin nerd. 50kr to see that..

Been there when it was already closed, so I cannot really say anything about the church itself. But the view is great and gardens are beautiful.

Very interesting and scenic place. An old paper factory on the grounds of a monastery. Lot of info signs, bird watch tower and beautiful nature. When I was there it was around dusk and a bit foggy. I really thought of Loch Ness and a monster out there is the mystic waters.
Nice place with interesting history, good starting point for a walk as well
The drying shed in Klostermølle is Denmark's longest wooden building. In the drying shed, you can still see how cardboard and paper have been hung to dry. A bird tower has been built at the north end of the 100 meter long drying barn with a view over Klosterkær and Mossø. There had been some flooding recently so the area was very wet.
Smooth process from start to finish. Thanks, Urban Village Homes!
A historic place and beautiful nature around 🤩

(Translated by Google) The story behind Ry church Ry Kirke was consecrated on the last Sunday in 1909, and could therefore celebrate its 100th birthday on Sunday 31 October 2009. The initiators were the then newly established women's association, which later became the Danish Women's Association. Ry Kirke therefore stayed in initially called "the women's church". The church was designed by architect S.F. Kühnel and was primarily built by local craftsmen. Poul Steffensen, who is buried at Ry Kirkegård, executed and donated the altarpiece to the church. About Ry, the women and the church 1869 was an important year for the creation of the town of Ry. In that year, DSB decided that they wanted to build a cross-rail that would go from Skanderborg to Silkeborg, and they wanted to acquire a plot of land near Rye Mølle on the Siim heath, where a station building was to be built. An enterprising man in Svejstrup, Søren Sørensen, saw the chance for a new livelihood and built a grocery store and an inn near the station grounds. Now the development was fast: 2/5-1871 the new railway was inaugurated, more houses were added, so that in 1884 there were 10 houses in Ry. A gymnasium had been built the year before, and in 1886 a private school was established under primitive conditions on Fredensvej. In 1888 the school had 24 pupils, which was too many for the room; they therefore bought a plot of land on Klostervej and built the town's first schoolhouse.

If you enjoy the spirit of old castle, worth it! Looking for morden stuff and expensive luxury better choose another destination. I loved it a lot and mid of November landed in Christmas Wonderland!!! Never been there before. And the dinner was very delicious.Thank u!
Rooms are very cozy and charming in the perfect castle spirit, but didn't have e.g. any water boiling device or mini bar, nor was there any obvious place to grab a cup of coffee or tea after restaurant had closed in the evening. Arrived at a time with very few guests. While the food is what you'd expect from a place with few visitors (nice enough), the chef did a wonderful job of cooking the meat for the dishes, and especially the meat seemed a nice quality. For me personally, there was too much modern music noise from the kitchen, while the restaurant had nice classical music playing. Atmosphere of the castle was very intriguing, and the rooms worth exploring.
The atmosphere was nice, the buildings were picturesque and semi-well-kept, and the evening's waitress was well informed and polite. Here is where the compliments stop. The overall price for an overnight stay is way above what should be charged considering the following. The first thing we met on the way into the reception was a food safety report issued by the government, giving the restaurant a "sad smile", meaning the lowest standard of hygiene.... The evening meal was standard, it lacked self-esteem. In other words boring. The room itself was nice enough though the heating was down so low on arrival it was freezing. [ winter ] There are no tea or coffee facilities in the rooms, and two wine glasses were all that were on offer. [ and need to be wadhed] All in all, way to pricey for what you receive. Give it a miss.
Awful hotel: inclusive breakfast costs extra and is simply bread and badly cooked eggs, requested a room with a bath, what I got was a rusty old tub which was so small that even a child would have trouble fitting in. Overall the place was worn down and uninspired. Definitely not worth the money.
Excellet service plus healthy and tasteful dinner at the evening. The staff also helped me with an early breakfast.
I would almost call this place faulty towers. . . Very worn down Place is run by very young teenagers, only one adult seen Wires hanging out of plug sockets Very average food, served by an un-trained teenager Constant humming from noisy generator in my room Torn furniture and not cheap. . . Needs some serious management. I also wrote to them, no reply.
Lived in a beautiful romantic styled suite. The service personal was very friendly and the restaurant dilevered an amazing 5 course meal, with a free appetiser, making it a 6 course meal.

Very interesting 2nd world war bunker museum. Can easily spend a few hours exploring this place that is made up of two parts; one about the Germans and the purpose of the bunkers and another part about the freedom fighter movement in the area.
Although relatively small, there are 2 bunkers to visit, one focused on the Germans and another on the Danish. The Danish Bunker has some things in english, the German hasn't. There are also guided tours around October. 50 dkk entry. It's surprisingly packed with many guns, machines, equipment, uniforms, etc, including the Enigma machine. I didn't spend much time but will probably return with more time. Check the opening times and dates before going, it's not always open.
A little to less to see but it's located in a beautiful place by the lake. It is possible to take a swim as a combination. They only take cash or mobile pay ,just a heads up.
Two bunkers are renovated and available for the visit. A lot about the history of Luftwaffe, and a lot of the items from the war. Super friendly staff. Definitely worth a look. The only "bad thing" is that unfortunately a lot of information is in Danish, especially about the Danish residence which from the pictures looks astonishing

We came for lunch. Very traditional fair. I had the Christmas plate and everything was delicious, roast pork, ham, Christmas herring, shrimp. My plate also included cheese and walnuts with honey, cookies and chocolate cake. My husband had a hamburger with the best fries in Skanderborg. We also ordered hot chocolate. The waitstaff was very knowledgeable and kind. The ambiance is nice and cozy located in a farm. It is next to a farm museum. I highly recommend this restaurant. They have a weekend brunch that would probably be amazing. Enjoy.
Based upon a private event, the food and drinks was very delicious, and the staff was very accomodating. Yet the wooden logs going from ground to roof were an annoying obstacle to avoid.
Good food, good service. If you bring your own food there are tables with benches scattered around the area. Also has a clean public bathroom.
