Very cool museum experience, an incredible archive of automotive legends laid out very thoughtfully. We pre purchased tickets and went on a weekday afternoon and it was very quiet and enjoyable. You can appreciate all the decades of racing as you walk through the displays. Free parking across the street, the walk of the track you can probably live without unless you are a hardcore enthusiast, the museum is very cool.
There is a temporary display of 10 cars ONLY. The ticket costs 8 Euros for 10 min temporary museum. They said they are working on a renovation during the summer, but of course they still charge the same exact amount as a normal day ticket. So save yourself the driving experience and just watch the photos here. THAT'S ALL. The receptionist were friendly and told us it would take 30 min. But honestly everything could be seen in 5-10 min only.
We visited the museum during an especially long red flag at the 24 hours of Le Mans race (at around midnight). An excellent decision given the rich history within the museum. It covers historical fact about some of the great names in the sport (Ford, Ferrari, Bugatti, Ickx). Shows antique cars/vehicles with some history of the development of automobiles in Europe, and then of course, decades of actual cars and championship cars from the races themselves. We could have spent more time just gazing into the vehicles and enjoying the atmosphere, but the race was restarting. This would be an awesome place to visit on a non race day just to wander and look.
While I don't typically follow sports cars or the Le Mans tour, this museum's uniqueness is undeniable. It's packed with incredible sporting cars, showcasing vehicles from the 24h Le Mans and other races. I found it truly amazing and well worth the visit.
At the moto GP 24 h circuit we visited the museum. Big ques as the racing was on and record numbers attended. The museum is brilliant we loved the whole experience. Very well run with such big numbers. Facilities are good and accessible The gift shop has some lovely gift ideas and memorabilia bring your credit card it's pricey...
Small temporary exhibition, but with some incredible cars over two floors. Access to the track is a must when you visit - try finding a day with a track day so you have something to watch.
Lovely and fascinating museum. Homage is given to the founding family, of the motor car industry in France and motoring hero’s over the years. Well worth a visit.
A dream come true for any motorsport fan! The museum is a treasure trove of Le Mans history, showcasing legendary cars and the evolution of the iconic 24-hour race. However, I’d recommend contacting the museum beforehand—sometimes there are track days, and general visitors may not be allowed on the track, only in the museum. Plan ahead to make the most of your visit!

Absolutely amazing light display, cannot state how fantastic it is, many cathedrals in France have similar. A must see If you are near. Stunning
La Nuit des Chimères is famous for its mesmerizing nighttime light projections, but visiting during the day offers a different experience. Without the illuminated displays, you can explore the historic streets of Le Mans' Cité Plantagenêt at your own pace, appreciating the medieval architecture and ambiance in natural daylight. While the magic of the night is missing, the charm of the old town still makes it a worthwhile visit.
La Nuit des Lumières turns the old city into a stage walls glow, statues whisper, and suddenly history has better lighting than you do. A stroll becomes theatre, and you’re in it.
Truly amazing presentation, our first night was rained off, second night some rain and and cold. But third attempt was perfect clear sky and not too busy. The faces in the trees really are worth the visit alone, when you climb the steps and look right to see the face staring back is amazing experience. Can not praise it enough saw it in one of its first years and coming back it looses nothing.
Living in Le Mans, we have the chance to see the this event every year. They have changed many things in 2025 and it's really beautiful. You must see that everywhere in the old city (in summer time up to September)
Amazing experience and well worth a visit. We went with our 2 children (9&13) whilst staying nearby. The display at the back of the cathedral was amazing. Worth a late night !
Beautiful experience, the monk in the elevator at point B was the best in our opinion really nice. Only feedback : more boxes, the music really makes the experience, but it was really hard to hear.
This was so cool. I think many towns should do something like this. It made the journey of old town Lyon so enjoyable even on a rainy evening.

This is a truly stunning building and absolutely has to be visited to admire the amazing achievements of all concerned in its construction dating from the 4th to 15 centuries. As you enter the building then coldness hits you , I assume due to the thickness of the walls and not so much glass also it was close to winter when I visited . I walked around the building in complete awe of the impressiveness of such a building , the organ is just unbelievable , the alter is so impressive as is all the structural pillars lining the building . Entry and exit doors are massive . Simple wooden chair seating throughout the church . The stained glass windows are so impressive especially when the daylight radiates through them . Definitely worth a long visit .
La Nuit des Chimères is known for its stunning nighttime light projections, but visiting during the day offers a different perspective. Without the illuminated spectacle, you can appreciate the historic beauty of Le Mans' Cité Plantagenêt in its natural state. The medieval architecture and charming streets still make for an enjoyable visit, even if the magic of the night is missing
Beautiful cathedral with the outside spectacular on the side of the large square and a bit dull on the other side. Construction began in the 11th century in the Romanesque style, of which the nave and some stained glass windows remain. In the 13th century, large Gothic extensions were made. There are many beautiful stained glass windows. Most striking is the 13th century Lady Chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary.. It was built by Queen Berengaria, widow of Richard the Lionheart, for which she got permission to break through the outer wall. On the ceiling is a concert of angel musicians, and there are beautiful stained glass windows with sometimes funny details (look good)
Breathtaking in both its size and beauty. We only had a quick visit here but you could spend hours looking at all the architecture and details it has. The area around the Cathedral is also very charming. Just remember this is France so pick your day if you want shops etc to be open.
Nice cathedral, especially watching it from the bottom with a very special perspective.
Truly a stunning looking Cathedral, especially the massive flying buttresses. We walked around to get views from every angle, but did not enter. In addition to the buttresses which I found to be its most distinguishing feature, this cathedral has rich carvings around the main entranceway, which are seem in the film De Bergerac with Girard Depardieu (where he had a fight scene). We also found two roman menhirs propped up against the walls in a hidden corner off to the side.
It's huge! No one shaking a 'tin', no shop just a moment of quiet contemplation in a room with amazing glass stained windows. Added bonus, when it's warm, it's a cool building in all meanings of the word. We had an amazing lunch in Cafe du Jet D'Eau.
Amazing place to visit, beautiful windows and architecture. Be respectful in the vicinity of the Cathedral, but enjoy the place. There are written guides in several different languages available to help you understand the history of the building. There is also an exhibition explaining the history and development of the Cathedral. This place has important history and is very much part of the history of Nomandy France and Britain.

Wonderful little amusement park with many attractions. The biggest plus is that there are not many people! No need to wait to ride the attraction
When we pay €21.50 we may say that we expect something from this park, sadly there are very bad and slow operations, it was a busy day so pump up the speed from loading and unloading the attractions.. staff (mostly children) does not look interested in their job. Many parts from the park look like they can use a lot of love from the owner, go for it! To the owner after his professional reaction: we understand that the core business are children and families, but as coaster, themepark and funfair lover we are visiting (little) parks all over the world, and we had this feeling like I explained. But hey, thanks for the reaction 👍 and we only place this comments to make your park better! See you in a few years when (or if) you have more rides like Cyclone! Have a nice day! Kim.
Lovely place for families and plenty to do. Circus was an added bonus too. Really recommend this theme park
A great day out for the entire family. This little park has 4 Roller Coasters, and a diverse selection of other rides.
Good park for younger children - age 6-10/11. Park was quite busy on a Monday in August, waiting around 20minutes for the busy rides. Food and drink very expensive but that is always the case. It is quite expensive in my op opinion but I think if you aim to spend the full day there then it may be worth it. Has a swimming pool/slides so don’t forget costumes if you want to do this. Also has the slowest train ride I’ve ever seen.
Excellent fun park for our 9 and 3-year olds. Quality rides, friendly and attentive staff, with a 30min big tent show as well. Tired our children out, and us.
Love this place. Ideal rides for 4 year old, queues never too long (other than stupid system for food!), lovely and clean and always welcoming.

Really interesting. We had a guided tour in French and the guide gave interesting facts about the Abbey. There are lovely gardens to explore and a cafe that serves delicious, well presented meals. There are also the Candlelight concerts on certain evenings.
A beautiful peaceful place to visit just on the edge of the city. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The information panels all have an English translation on them and the kitchen garden is interesting. Look out for their special events, unfortunately I hadn't and consequently have missed out on one I would have loved to go to there. Plenty of, shady, parking and thoughtful layout for the less mobile of us!
The Royal Abbey of Épau, located near Le Mans, is a stunning example of Cistercian architecture, founded in 1229 by Queen Berengaria of Navarre. The abbey features impressive Gothic design with soaring vaults and delicate details, reflecting the grandeur of its time. Visitors can explore its well-preserved cloisters, chapter house, and refectory, providing a glimpse into monastic life. The tranquil gardens add to the peaceful atmosphere. With its historical significance and architectural beauty, the abbey is a must-visit for history and architecture enthusiasts.
A beautiful old abbey where many interesting events take place. During Berengeria's time it was a church, but now people can visit the place anytime.
A very underwhelming visit. The building is nice but it is a bit lacking in things to see. A lot of the rooms and the exhibits were closed when we were there. Expensive for what it is.
Nice place, But entry fees I felt quite high for the place.
The construction of the abbey was ordered by the wife of Richard Lionheart, yet nowadays little is left of the beauty this should have inspired. The abbey is a nice tranquil place outside of the business of le Mans, but a real abbey it is not. It was completely emptied during the French Revolution and never reinstated as an abbey. Nowadays everything is empty and to see an abbey here one will need some imagination. Luckily the information folder helps a bit with this, but it cannot fill the physical hole of missing things.
This is such an amazing but very tranquil place to visit. The simplicity of the architecture is breathtaking....you really should visit

The most fascinating aspect of Enceinte Romaine is the history. Instead of centuries, millennium are visible from the old original roman walls, up through the centuries, the wall and, towers and some of the houses have been built on top of old foundations and still stand today. Also, the very rare red brick found in only a few medieval cities in Europe. To think of living in one of the houses that were standing/started 2000 years ago.
Old place but beautiful close with the river.

Really interesting museum of Le mans. Free entrance but really good museum.
It was half empty due to arrangement of upcoming exhibitons. The history of le mans part has fine. Also free to enter.
Always worth a visit. Always a new twist on their displays.
Entry was free. Had guided devices however only in french. However still very interesting.
A nice charming museum with some history of Le Mans and the surrounding Maine region. However, it would be better if the displays were also translated to English for international visitors.
Nice museum, much larger than it appears from the front. Free entry.
I went to this museum specifically to learn about the Plantagenets. Despite the name "Carré Plantagenet" there is surprisingly little about them. I did enjoy the exhibits on the Roman period in France. Pet peeve: cultural institutions that receive financial support from EU taxpayers should make an effort to provide language support in languages other than French and English.

It was free to enter and has lots of good art pieces. Recommended :)
Our trip did not afford us the time to enter so we only saw this museum from the outside.
Musée de Tessé is a charming and well curated museum that offers a peaceful and enriching visit. The building itself is beautiful and gives the experience a refined atmosphere from the moment you step inside. The layout is clear and easy to follow and the rooms are bright enough to make each collection stand out. The staff is welcoming and helpful and they are happy to answer questions or offer information about the exhibits. Their presence adds a nice touch and makes the visit smoother and more enjoyable. The permanent collections are interesting and cover a good range of periods, with several pieces that capture your attention for their detail and historical value. The Egyptian section is a pleasant surprise and is presented with care. Temporary exhibitions are varied and often very well put together which makes the museum worth revisiting. If I had to mention one thing, some explanations could be more detailed for visitors who enjoy deeper context, especially in the older sections. Overall Musée de Tessé is a calm and rewarding place to explore whether you are spending a few hours in Le Mans or you live nearby. A solid cultural stop that I would gladly recommend.
Very nice staff at the front desk free admission the Egyptian exhibit is quite interesting free audio guide, which helps temporary exhibit has nothing in English, so really couldn’t get much out of it if you’re in the area it’s definitely worth a stop since there’s no charge and they have some interesting paintings I’m sure there’s something for everyone.
Awesome collection of painting and sculptures. The entrance was free. There are Egyptian artifacts in the basement. It's a multi level museum. The entrance is free.

Very nice museum, audio guide is very interesting. Had a great time. Great little park around too.
I freely admit we ended up in this museum by mistake (confusing it with the archaeological museum) but I loved it! We went on a Sunday, so it only cost 2.50 to get it and we had the place to ourselves. I enjoyed the paintings in the galleries but the highlight were the Egyptian 'tombs' in the basement.
