The walk up to the castle offered fabulous views of the city and Castello Grande. The path from the cental city square is made of stone and some steps (maybe 15 minutes). There are railings most of the way. An alternate way down we took the road from the oarking lot out of the castle through the draw bridge.

The castle was closed when I went there in November, (it's only open during the summer). However, I was still able to walk along the ramparts and see the city below, and some great views of castle grande.
