Stopped 2 days visiting the area and enjoyed the local food the towers were closed while the Christmas market was going on I recommend the area any time of the year
Nice town with good restaurants and a tower to climb with view over the city. Parking is a available and walking distance to the town centre.
These two towers are the monument that to me defined Kortrijk It was very nice to see them from both sides of the river and it’s a very nice photo picture for those who like to take pictures. I am not sure if you can go inside the towers, but anyway, it was just nice to admire them from outside.
Iconic towers on bridge over river Leie in centre of Kortrijk. Lovely setting for sitting outside for a drink or meal
Lovely city with these two towers by the river.
Cool towers either side of cobbled bridge besides the river. Steps and seating either side of river and lots of restaurants look like will be open in the evenings. We watched a wedding take place just beside the towers looks like it happens fairly regularly
it's just beautiful there specially when it's sunny and you get a nice view of the canal, they are also well kept historical buildings in pristine conditions. well worth visit if you pass by Kortrijk
Beautiful peacefulness in this place

Mall packed with fashion, housewares, accessory & sports stores, plus a kids' playroom & free Wi-Fi.
Slide 1 of 8
The store boasts stunning architecture and an inviting ambiance, further enhanced by its elegant Christmas decorations. Hosting branches of many renowned brands, it offers a clean and well-maintained environment.
It's not the biggest shopping centre, but it's clean and has a good selection of shops, mainly clothing shops. It's right in the heart of the town centre and complements the existing shops in the town centre nicely. I wouldn't recommend coming to Kortrijk just for this, but it's worth visiting if you're already in the area.
This is a nice little mall in the heart of the town. From the inside it was a little empty, but they have many stores. The restaurant options on the top floor were limited.
kids friendly. they have a corner for baby where you can feed your child or breastfeeding or to change the diaper. they even have microwave to warm your baby food. There is also a small place where you can bring your child to play. and some rides… I wish they could add more kids rides for kids… And especially a grocery shopping.
So many store available inside and also busy during the weekend close to the train station
I´ve been to Kortrijk a lot, never to K. I HAVE gone to a lot of shopping centers, and must say..this is one of the better ones. A big Action downstairs! Toilets are clean and free! I..get the circle lamp things.. but they seem to have been hanging there for some time, so that..could be fixed.
In every part in that mall theres a lot of like same products. Is not clean on first throw the mall and youll find out that theres a lot so dissrespectfull salers in mall. You cant find what you want there. And prices are so much bigger than in the city stores. Dont have for kids playground... Do not reccomend...
Okay mall with the usual big shops similar the Ring. There is a lounge on the top for food and drinks. Please note parking is not free. Christmas decorations were nice though.

Well presented and very interesting history of the counts of Flanders and the battle of the golden spurs. Highly recommended. Allow 1 to 2 hours for all the exhibits. Don’t miss the Oxford panel.
Great experience, both the immersive experience as well as the small but interactive exposition on the battle of 1302. Film starts every thirty minutes, audio in English, Dutch and French. Free entrance, tips for the amazing volunteers of course appreciated ;-)
Interactive, educative and free experience that tells you about earlier days of Flanders. One can watch a 20 min movie, have a look at the paintings or listen for stories in 3 languages.
A really impressive exhibition inside a beautiful medieval church. Was a surprise to find a museum inside a church - but the church itself is well worth visiting. Interactive displays that tell you the story of the battle of the golden spurs in 1302. Especially nice was the animated film, don't miss it (every 30 minutes, in English, French and Flemish)
Clean quite and very beautiful
The movie is absolutely stunning. Highly recommend visiting
Brilliant exhibition, especially as entry is free! Great way to learn about local history in an engaging way.
Rarely been that much impressed by a cultural experience such as 1302. Everything was well explained and interactive. I highly recommend to watch the 18minute visual experience

There are many beautiful and detailed arts and sculptures. Also there's an exhibition which is really worth visiting because of modern technology and animations and stories.
What a historical church! They have all these war of 1302 interactive displays and paintings that explain the Battle of the Golden Spears. I also come here on Sunday to celebrate solemn mass. So if you are a Catholic and looking for a place to pray quietly and a person who loves history, this Church is a must-visit in Kortrijk! :)
This church was such an amazing and unique and unexpected experience. Other than the fact that the interior is very nice, they had a small exhibition on the history of the flemish people and the role of kortrijk in the war of the golden spurs. There was an immersive experience in the room at the right that is simply unmissable
This is one of the oldest building in Kortrijk. It was built in the 12th century. What was interesting for me was the restored chapel with the many paintings of the portraits of the counts of Flanders. It is worth following a guided tour on those chapel and the church as the history and the many unanswered questions about the portraits are highlighted.
A beautiful church that houses a great museum on the Battle of the Golden Spurs (1302) and the Franco-Flemish War (1297-1305).
Good to get to know the story of the golden spurs. Very informative exposition. Feeling is that the church is more of a museum now.
This was an excellent experience. The films they have made about the battle are really effective, especially the one inside the chapel. The interactive information about the Oxford Kist for example is all very informative. I particularly enjoyed the thorough consideration of the battle, including the significance to the founding of Belgium as a country. A must see for anyone visiting this area!

Flax doesn’t sound that interesting, but on a cold day in January we thought it could be a good way to keep warm. It was in fact one of the most interesting and well thought out museums I’ve been too and I learnt a great deal. The signs are in several languages, there are interactive screens, and the flow from ground floor (touch, feel, understand the product and how it’s used), first floor history and top floor treasures (examples), is very good indeed. You could spend many hours here and it’s great for kids as well as adults.
This museum is well detailed and informative across all floors. Our family really enjoyed this museum and we learned so much. We highly recommend.
I bought a ticket for Triënnale Kortrijk only: it gives you access to only the top floor of Texture, (and to other locations in town). To see a video about underwater life... Yes, you have to climb up to look underwater.😄 But I passed the shop, where they have an amazing collection of books on flax and fabric.👌 Creative, wonderful presents are also on sale.🥰 In the workshop, teenagers were busy, creating their own tapestry. Showing me through the glass wall the work they were proud of.🥰👌👍
The middle floor with the detailed explanations in English / French / Dutch was fascinating insight into the history of this area as a powerhouse of flax / linen production. Really enjoyed our visit!
Well This was nice (in spite of the small children screaming like the place was on fire) . Learnt a lot around the production of linen ( and about the lingerie of catholic priests - first photo)
Wasn’t expecting much of a flax museum to be honest, but the museum provides a surprisingly interesting look at the rise and fall of the flax industry in the “Texas of Flanders”. You could read everything in English as well as Dutch and French.
Do you know why the Leie river has been so important for Kortrijk ? Because its flow connects the city thru its history around textile industry: One of Vlaanderen most important export products, #Courtrai flax ..and here in Texture Museum over Leie you can learn about this interesting fact ...and beyond with workshops and exhibits such "Textiel in Verzet"
Some of show room devices were not working.

Nice friendly staff.
I am only reviewing two of their beers. The Omer blonde is without doubt my favourite blonde beer, slightly sweet and very easy drinking. I make sure I buy a case each time I go to Belgium. The Le Fort is a superb chocolatey, caramelly dark beer that tastes more complex the more you drink.
Omer is a real good beer. If you like the moste of the belgian beers. This is a real good taste.
apparently they don’t sell beers (lady at the counter told me)
Great sour ale. Toured as part of red-brown sour ale day.

Beautiful architecture, the ceremonial room is absolutely stunning, both the interior and exterior have been well looked after over the years. It is an especial place for you to host all kinds of events, even a wedding. It has an incredible aura, it's a must if you visit Kortrijk.
The department you need never answers. The People who originally answer the phone don't speak English so you have to wait to find somebody who does. Then they tried to trains4u to the proper department after you tell them what you need but those departments never answer. I have been there many x in person they are all mostly very nice today I had a lady who was very rude
English service is available on most specialised desks. Drivers licence and marriage related were a bit tricky, but feedback has been listened.
If you follow the rules everything go smoothly. They are friendly. wish them the best
It was fine, but to make an appointment sometimes takes 1 month
Very polite staff, they speak English. Everything is organized very well.
Good, parking around could be bigger and for bigger car's but ok

We love to visit the churches, you can always sit there for a while and think about yourself. The church is huge, very nice, full of interesting paintings and sculptures. But what we love the most is the silence...
This is really worth visiting. They even have a free ticket to go up to the church. And the paintings inside are really delicate. Must visit!

Pretty garden and you are able to look into some of the houses to see what they would have been like. There was an art installation that was quite interesting too.
Great little garden for a peaceful respite if you're walking in the area. I enjoyed this on a Tuesday afternoon with no one else around. It is well maintained and a lovely spot to visit.
Intimate cosy place, worth a visit, gives an idea how live was 2 centuries ago. Huge herbs garden well maintained.

In the space behind the entrance you will see a chapel, a water pump, a beautiful medicinal herb garden and more than 10 tiny houses. Poor widows used to live there. They were not Beguines. One of lives pleasures is sitting having a coffee and listening to the bells here.
Nice town centre with historic buildings. The cathedral and surrounding buildings are very well kept. Nice bars and restaurants to enjoy too.
To my knowledge, you cannot get into the tower, but it’s still a very beautiful monument in the square and kind of dissemble of the city. I enjoyed looking at it and reading the information that was written on the history of the tower.
A medieval belfry on the city's main square, dated to have been built in early 14th century. Is on the Unesco world heritage list (as one of "Belfries in Belgium and France"). It was originally part of the long since demolished Cloth hall, in fact also the belfry was planned to be torn down in late 19th century, but heavy protests from the local population saved it. Supposedly you can get inside, it did seem closed when I visited, so not totally sure if you can enter it or not.
Nice surrounding, just sit down and enjoy a Belgian beer and listen to the " beiaard "
In this busy student city, the market place offers a peaceful place to enjoy a coffee or meal in one of the many taverns. Statues, art, children's playground, lots of nice shops, something for everyone to enjoy
I believe this is St Martins Church adjacent to the Grote Market. Kortrijk is quite a pleasant place and easy to walk around. There is a lot of interesting architecture to admire in the area of the Grote Market and lots of places to eat and snack and watch the world go by. I believe that the area has frequent antiques markets outdoors also. The square also hosts live music and performances. Worth checking beforehand whats on.
You have just about everything around there. Stores, restaurants, bars, burger shops, hemp shop, hotels, ATMs, banks, sight seeing locations... Most times a very busy place. It's a good place to go relax outside in the sun at one of the local bars/taverns/restaurants.

Beautiful historical gate
(Translated by Google) Less impressive than I first thought! "Groeningepoort". Natural stone gate, in keeping with the early Gothic style with pointed arch, battlements and trumpets. Shield with Flemish Lion and inscription "1302 GROENINGHEVELD". Built in 1908 according to a design by Jozef Viérin (Kortrijk). So-called "Groening Monument" and "park". Groeningepark, located between Groeningelaan and Plein. The park includes an avenue of tulip trees, maples, plane trees and shrubs from the Groeningepoort to the round park with the Groeninge monument. The monument also contains plane trees, a Himalayan cedar and a weeping willow. On the side of the Groeningelaan in 1906, the romantic-realistic Groeninge monument by G. Devreese was erected. The bronze whole is gold-plated and was cast in the "Fonderie Nationale des Bronzes" in Sint-Gillis near Brussels. At the top is a young woman, the allegorical Virgin of Flanders. She waves the scythe in her left hand, often mistaken for Good Day around 1900. With her right hand she holds the symbolic Flemish Lion in check by the mane; the lion has broken his slave bonds and is roaring menacingly towards France. The pedestal represents three episodes from the Battle of the Golden Spurs of 1302: in particular the farewell of a warrior on the left, the victory and Robert d'Artois killed next to his horse Morel. On the pedestal the coats of arms of Flanders and Kortrijk and the inscription: "KORTRIJK - BATTLE OF THE GOLDEN SPOREN XI JULY MCCCII". Connecting road built between the Plein and the Groeningelaan in 1900. From 1902 to 1968 "Antoon Goethalslaan", from 1968 to 1981 "Burgemeester Goethalslaan". In 1981 "Groeningepoort" after the so-called "Groeningepoort" founded in 1908. To the west, the St. Joseph's Institute and the Hospital of the Holy Family border the street. (Original) Minder indrukwekkend dan ik vooraf dacht! "Groeningepoort".

Great place for shopping food and a whole day out. Plenty of parking and accessible via the freeway.
Mall is nice and new, a lot of choices to buy. Only ashamed think it is to they charge public toilets of 60 cents even for kids. And guy at table is rude to need to be paid because of costs.
The ambiance and architecture of this store are beautiful, and it was wonderfully decorated for Christmas. Many reputable brands have branches here, everything is clean, and there are plenty of comfortable seating areas available for convenience.
One of my favorite shopping centers in Kortrijk. You will find everything you need. It has become a very well maintained and clean shopping center since the renovations
There's always something new to see. Great place for shopping even if it rains. They have a huge FREE parking lot.
My favourite mall in kortrijk. They have a bubble tea shop, hunkemoller, Albert Heijn, zeeman, kruidvat and a Burger King very nearby.
If you need to get to the toilet prepare to go trough the whole shopping center because there's only one in the whole bulding. Also it's closed at 18:55 so pee your pants or run to the other side of the gallery to visit toilet at KFC for 50 cents. For sure my first and the last visit here.
Massive shopping mall with an assortment of restaurants and shops. Alot of free parking which is a plus. Downside is the bathrooms are not free considering the amount of restaurants here. It costs €0.6 but they give you a coupon and in select stores you can use the €0.6 if you purchased something

created to commemorate the battle of the gulden spurs. In which a small pre-Belgian local army (mostly militia) were able to hold a much larger french army by using the environment.
