Awesome place to see the views of the mountain range and the village below. Only has a little bit of the history to read to say how iconic it is. Overall Great place to visit, definitely a must see if not for the view alone.
Expensive but worth the trip! The bus is a little confusing, but you have to take the city (838) bus to the Dokumentation station and then buy a tour bus pass to get to the top. 838 drops you off and picks you up from the same area. Convenient! Costs around 11.50Euro for round trip from the main station to the tour station. Keep your ticket for the return. Can also just buy a one-way ticket. We went middle of October. Snow was VERY slippery (and wet) so bring good shoes or walking poles. Was cold but not super cold. Thumbs up if this review helped you! :)
We were surrounded by clouds going up the mountain, but once we went up the elevator, it was clear skies and beautiful. The house is a restaurant which i did not go to. You can climb a little bit of the mountain and take breathtaking pictures.
Great experience and amazing views!!! If you go when there is snow, expect no treatment on paths could be very treacherous. Would do it again for sure!!! Restaurant was very good also, would eat there again. You need to park then take a bus up to elevator.
This is a very cool place to visit. It’s great that such a historical place has remained largely unchanged since construction. Even if you’re not interested in World War II history, the site offers fantastic views assuming the weather is cooperative. We had a nice lunch in the restaurant and I hope to visit again with clearer weather.
A very good experience. The bus trip up and down is excellent, it makes you appreciate the work involved to create the road in such a short time period. The views from the top are just phenomenal.
Must see and worth the 15 min electrical bus drive up mountain. Spectacular views. Terrible history but worth remembering all of us to have this never happen again. In the sun-gallery there is some information on the site and history.
Amazing….it was even better than I imagined. There’s a restaurant there that also doesn’t gouge you on prices. The trip up on the bus is an event in itself, followed by the short walk up along the original entrance tunnel and into the same original gold coloured lift. Incidentally the lift holds over 30 people! Then when you get out you are above the clouds and it’s epic. If you are near there, I would highly recommend it

Mine
Family-friendly tours of a 1500s salt mine with miners' slides, a salt lake & illuminated grotto.

Good activity to do with kids and you can also explore the salt mine also. Perfect vacation here. However, taking a photo inside is not allowed but it not a problem😊 Tips: No need to wait if you buy a ticket in advance in order to choose the entry time before enter.
The tour starts with a traditional railway into the mountain. Inside the mountain you can see and learn some interesting about the salt mining. The guided tour includes two times very cool slides from one to another level and a short crossing of an underground lake by boat. Recommend to buy you tickets online. Parking means extra costs unfortunately.
The tour of the salt mine was very well organized. Unfortunately, taking photos and videos is not allowed. We went down some sections using slides, and there was also a boat ride on an underground salt lake, accompanied by beautiful light shows and music. It was a very touching experience for me. I highly recommend this program to anyone visiting the area.😊
What a great experience to make this tour in the salt mine. There are timeslot entries and once you are inside you get an overall to put on. Then you board a small train that brings you inside the mine. When you get off you take two wooden slides down to the level where the guided tour starts. That slide was big fun for most of the visitors. With the tour you make a long walk with regular stops at interesting locations where you get information from the guide or via the audio guide in your own language. There is even a small boat ride over a salt lake with a light show when you are crossing. At the end you go up again with a lift, hop on the train and back to the entrance. The salt in the mine was formed over 200 million years ago, during the Triassic period, when a shallow sea as part of the Thetys ocean evaporated and left behind thick layers of concentrated salt. Over millions of years this salt was covered with rocks and with the forming of the Alps moulded and squeezed between rock layers With the tour you can see those layers in the walls and you can taste the salt. The salt is now extracted using wet mining where large quantities of water are pumped in the layers via drill holes. The concentrated salt solution (brine) is then pumped to a processing plant to be turned into salt for all purposes. In the shop you can buy this Alpine salt and more.
We didnt go in. It is a tourist trap. Tickets are expensive 25€ and ~32€ with some combined tickets, 50minutes guided trip. Its beyond me why there has to be amusement parks in saltmines. Torda salt mine was enough, also for a fragment of this price, and you could stay there as long as you wanted. Which is great for lungtherapy. Western countries are so kapitalistic they would even make air as a privilege... Basic human necessities like peeing is already an expensive privilege in most part of germany. No I dont have coins, No I dont want to buy the cupon down in the overpriced shop, tankstation or whatever. It is rare to find free toilet in germany. Their store: (Their tablesalt is slightly cheaper in the nearby stores.) +They have iodized salt with selene in the merch store. - They have iodized salt with extra fluoride. I remember fluoride was the main experimental material in the soviet era, they poisoned the water source of an entire village, it turned out it is causing people to become paranoid and an intense drop in their IQ. For pregnant women it is highly recommended to avoid it. It also causes tyroid problems and the dissolvement of calcium from the bones into the bloodstream. Im strongly against this. It is just a scam that is good for your teeth. It is against your brain. Its not something advised to put in your food, but it is already in the tapwater... Which may explain the behaviour of society nowadays. The fact they still successfully mistyped my name in their answer also just convinces me we did the right decision not going in... Just because the government, the authority, the american FDA approved something as food and somebody got bribed to bend over the lobbying, it wont make things healthy or beneficial for the people or their health. Tobacco, sugar lobby, hidrogenized ultraprocessed plant oils, fluoride..etc.
Interesting history of Salt mining combined with family fun (cart, slides, boating) in 1 hr. You can park the car for 4 euro on the parking on the other side of the river and road. Beware when weather is bad you need an umbrella to get to the entrance
Really good enjoyed it, audio guides for us English people, was good fun really enjoyed it, the slides were nuts lol 😆 really hoped to have picked up a visitor guide book showing the caves and things as photos weren't allowed and I don't recommend even trying it. But they certainly like their salt.
A salt mine located in the middle of a beautiful mountain landscape. The water in the river is crystal blue. The tour in the Salt mine is impressive/fun for old and young. You're driving 600 meters with a little Train inside the mountain.

Loads of Erie history on the area, audio self walking tour filled with photos, models, artifacts, and stories of the era. At the end of the tour you walk through 5% of the bunkers used.
enter for free after purchasing bus ticket. get the audio guide in your favourite language (40 min guide is enough) and start your time journey and learn the connection of the black era to the local village. after finishing the floor, head to the bunker and witness a glimpse of ww2 as you follow the tunnels. very educational in this thematic.
Why are the staff so unfriendly and hostile? It was the 29th August, 2025. We had done the Eagle's Nest and the tour operator allowed time for us to visit the Documentation Centre. Now, naively, it was our assumption that the centre was INCLUDED in the Munich to Eagles Nest trip but we were mistaken, as we soon found out. So we sauntered in - no queues in sight, no price list anywhere. We approached an entrance to the right before being accosted by a very rude woman. Now, there's a way to deal with people and there's a way not to. Had she been more polite, we would have apologised and simply paid the entrance fee, whatever it was - but because she was so hostile we simply left. That's 4 entrance fees you cost the museum lady! It costs nothing to be nice, but it does cost to be otherwise. Reading some of the other negative reviews, staff rudeness seems to be a common theme. At the very least have a visible price list on display or a sign at the tour entrance "No entry without tickets".
Ticket to Kehlsteinhaus includes free entrance to this center, so it’s best to visit the house first and then come here afterward. Unfortunately, you can’t buy a combined ticket for both at this location. The place is easy to find from the bus stop. A free audio guide is available in multiple languages. If you follow the guide strictly, you might miss some of the wall displays, so take your time to explore on your own as well. The entire facility is wheelchair accessible, and retractable chairs are available at the entrance for those who need them. At the end of the tour, you’ll also have the chance to visit the bunkers.
A must see. A very well organised and planned out museum, telling the story of the area and the importance of enjoying the peaceful landscape while respecting the history. You get free entry with your ticket to Eagles Nest, alternatively it is €3 per adult. There are free audio guides: you can either choose to listen as you go by entering exhibition codes, do a 40 minute guide, or an 80 minute guide. The temporary exhibition, Portraits by Stefan Hanke was exceptional to see also. Although I had studied WW2 and other wars in school and university, I was still moved and felt it for the rest of my time in Berchtesgaden.
Seeing this bunker in person is a interesting experience, but I really enjoyed going through and reading all the history in the museum and seeing all the artifacts related to World War Two. In my opinion the most interesting thing there was the map used to plan attacks in World War Two.
This is among the best history museums I have ever been to. It put the region's role in World War II and actions of the Nazis and historical artifacts of the time in context. It was thorough and included personal stories. We surveyed the entire exhibit and used the audio guide, as well. It was not over done, but it was well done with an extreme amount of detail. All history museums could learn from this center. Thank you.
Very insightful information on the history of Nazi Occupation. The 80mims tour was worthwhile.

a very beautiful church from 1697. baroque style, 2 onions dome and red domed roof. only can be reach by the boat or after a long hike through mountains. the view at the shore of Königssee is worth it, the surrounding green fields are superb.
We visited the stunning Königssee and were amazed by the picturesque Pilgrimage Church of St. Bartholomew. Nestled at the foot of the Alps, its red domes and serene lakeside setting made it feel like a scene from a postcard. Peaceful, historic, and absolutely breathtaking—a must-see when in Bavaria!
Absolute beauty! Can be reached after a few minutes boat ride from Seelände. The church itself is small with impressive interior. The surrounding area is also worth a few minutes walk. Tranquility at its best.
A small beautiful church located next to the lake. You can not get here simply by hiking, better buy ticket. However the interior is not really spectacular impressive compared to other churches at the same era. Great for visiting!
A beautiful church sitting peacefully by the lake. I came here in late September during the low season — no crowds, no lines, just pure tranquility. Absolutely worth the trip!
Built in 1134, expanded, and rebuilt in the Baroque style in the 17th century, surrounded by mountains, a lake, and green meadows, it seems like something straight out of a Brothers Grimm fairy tale. Fantastic.
Great scenery, you can rent a rowing boat for 25 euro if you want to row to this church
Beautiful place, that’s true, but the church itself is seen in 2-3 minutes. The surroundings are much more appealing. However, the return system of the boats should be revised and have either booked return times to control how much people are waiting in line or have much more boats going from here to Königssee Seelände. We waited for more than 1h to be able to get back to the boat and return to the parking lot!…

Wonderful location. Beautiful stay and with great nature around. However, many cigarette butts were found around that contain plastic and toxins. Nobart2 and kk_korrekturfee took part in The Trash Traveler face challenge here. Bin your cigarettes, leave no trace - the ocean starts with our acts far away from the beach! Thank you! :-)
Modern state of the art information centre with excellent displays and infographics about the surrounding area. Had previously spent hours trying to work out where the best hiking trails for our ability would be. The lady in the centre gave me all the necessary information in under 5 minutes. We followed her recommendations for three hikes which turned out to be spot on. May thanks! Would highly recommend a visit!
We really loved this small natural history museum. Its beautifully made, great sound immersion, bits of Interactive exhibts that the kids loved. Design is all very natural and befitting for the area. Definitely recommend. And tickets are also very affordable!
Simple but entertaining and interactive permanent exhibit about the plant and wildlife of Berchtesgadenerland as well as some local history and folk culture. Some parts of the exhibit offer English translation, but the majority of it is only in German. This is a good place for elementary-aged kids as well as older kids and adults. The exhibit makes good use of multimedia technology and interactive displays.
This is like an educational center but not like a national park office.
Very interesting museum with bright, modern, innovative exhibition. Excellent skyline, good restaurant, very innovative storage boxes ) Amazing national park at all.
Sadly we could not check out the outdoor area due to the rain, but the indoor was amazing. We and our 1-year old loved it and we are for sure coming back one day. Everything is stroller friendly, the pries are very reasonable and the staff is very friendly.
Very interactive museum. Enjoyed every bit. We loved the usage of light, sounds and information. The ‘cinema’ is beautiful with an amazing surprise in the end. When you visit Berchtesgaden you cannot skip this museum.

A wonderful winding road leads both up and down through the clouds. 😍 Absolutely stunning! The road can be reached by bike, car, or bus. However, there is an entrance fee for this section, depending on the mode of transport. For a car it was €9.50.
The view from the top is amazing! There's a small cafe and restroom at the top of the pass. Around €9.5 entry fee for the pass!
Driving along the Rossfeld Panorama Street was absolutely unforgettable! The road is smooth and well-maintained, offering breathtaking views of the Alps at every turn. It’s a perfect mix of adventure and relaxation, with plenty of photo spots to capture the stunning landscapes. Whether you go in summer or winter, the scenery is magical and worth every moment. Truly a must-see experience for nature lovers and road trip fans!
Magnificent view. In my opinion might be better than Eagles Nest. Eagles Nest is probably too high with too much clouds blocking the view. Took the public bus up instead of hiring a car. Interval is 2 to 3 hours but we managed to spend the time just walking around viewpoints. Along the way uphill, able to see the mountainous view gradually. Bus ride on 19 Oct 2025 costs only €2 to and fro trip. Well worth the $.
Wonderful drive, it's really a toll road that brings you up the mountain and down again in a loop. The views from the road are absolutely gorgeous! Head up early to watch the sunrise, shoot timelapse photos of the clouds etc. It's also the location for many scenes from The Sound of Music.
We stumbled across this on the way back to Salzburg from Eagles Nest. A must do if you have a car. Great drive and fantastic views. Opening scenes of the Sound of Music filmed up here.
The views from here are the best in all of Germany. An amazing and unforgettable experience, and because of the small entry fee, there wasn't much traffic
It's a beautiful drive for a small fee with a couple of photogenic stops, a small café, and can be comfortably combined in a day with a trip to the Eagle's Nest. The loop can be done in an hour or a bit longer. Most seem to drive clockwise, as we did. It's not the Alps' most stunning drive but very pretty.

I stayed there a few times back when Frau Sharfenburg was still alive. Was like stepping 80 years into the past. Some of the most memorable experiences of my life. I hope they open the hotel again one day.
This hotel survived WW2 and has the entrance to a 42 kilometer long series of bunkers Hitler built around the Eagles Nest. Amazing historical experience $5.50 to get in. This is only one section of the tunnels that would have connected to the rest of the bunker system by then Eagles Nest. This section also contains the closed off part that is labelled as Hitlers private bunker area. More bunkers are visible at the nearby museum.
Spent 1 night in July 2005. We were the only people staying there. Frau Scharfenberg provided a tour and shared with us the history of the facility and shared private pictures from the late 1930’s and 1940’s with us. Was given access to a much more vast expanse of the entire obersalzburg bunker complex, that is not for public view. Amazing evening at the Turken and oh the stories Frau Scharfenberg shared with us. Our rooms were converted WSS holding rooms. Sad to say Frau Scharfenberg has passed and the Turken is closed for now. A wonderful woman. An amazing stay and hospitality, and the views and history you just can’t pay for!
We had a wonderful stay at this historic hotel. We had initially only reserved one of the smaller rooms, but decided to upgrade to one of the larger rooms in the original section of the hotel with a balcony overlooking Berchtesgaden. Unfortunately we brought rainy weather with us when we showed up, but still caught some beautiful views of the town below. The upgrade was still well worth it as it also gave us in room "facilities", which isn't always a given in older European hotels. This was one of my favorite hotels during our 3 week stay in Europe. The access to the bunker system underneath the hotel is an added bonus. Not often you get a chance to explore part of a WWII bunker system for a few Euro.... When we make it back to this part of Germany we'll be staying here again. Great experience!
Beautiful interior, breathtaking view and included in and surrounded by history. No TV, no wifi to dilute the experience. The hotel offers a breakfast bar including bacon and eggs, and lunch or an early dinner is just a short walk away near the dokumentation center. Grab a drink at the honor bar, take it to your balcony and enjoy the view of the Bavarian Alps in peace. Monika and the caretakers are top notch and I can't wait to visit again!
my wife and i stayed here for an evening and were very very satisfied. given the history of this hotel, you feel like you have one foot in the past and one in the present. the staff are great as well. be sure to check out the private bar at night and the tunnels during the daytime. amazing experience all around. thank you for the hospitality.
Don't expect a luxury hotel, but expect an original hotel who will take you back in time. The hotel owner will make you feel at home, the true German breakfast is very good. For those who want to feel the history of the Obersalzberg this is the place to stay!
Stunning alpine hotel on the olbersalzberg It has the Main entrance to the underground bunker system on mountain straight outside the door Stepping back in time to 1940s this place is remote but taxis are nearby in berchtesgaden 24hs a day and a bus service nearby .If your going for the history its must. its not a hotel more Bed & breakfast with self service bar. your staying in the owners family home for the last 100years a unique place the only place on the olbersaltzberg which survived the bombing 1945 A fantastic base for the eagles nest , berchesgarden and lake konigsee

Highly recommend to visit such a nice palace! Rich in art, architecture variety and so many nice decorative pieces presented there. The guide schedule is online, foreign languages are on printouts, even better: you have time to discover details while others were just listening to the guide speaker:) Shame, that photos are not permitted inside, so many great things to remember.
It looked nice. Unfortunately, we missed the tour by a matter of minutes. I hope there will be a next time. I still recommend visiting the square and the surroundings, it's beautiful.
Beautiful little castle home to the remaining former Bavarian Royal family. It is situated in the town square of Berchtesgaden. There are tours but they are a limited times so please check carefully and arrive early. The tour is only in German but there is a paper guide in England. No photos allowed inside
We did really enjoy this beautiful and quiet small town during our tour to this place.
Very nice castle with lots of interesting details, but the guided tour moves on way too fast, with guide filling the airspace and instantly proceeding to the next step. This despite of the request to give more time to look around. Because of this hurry a couple of nice experiences were left seriously lacking. There's so much to see inside the castle that it's very annoying if you are forced to just run through. I guess she was just obeying the Orders. A disappointment because of the haste.
Schloos is a great small city. I recently visited and was impressed by the beautiful city center, the close proximity to The Eagle Nest, and the great variety of restaurants. The locals were also incredibly friendly and helpful. It's a great place to visit if you want to get away from it all and relax!
Interesting place. Plus tip. They have paid WC. Ideal when si ending all day visiting.
Nice and neat southern German town in the beautiful Alpine setting. Dozen od coffee shops, restaurants and stores with local products, semi precious stones (belief in the power od crystals that reaches to pre-christian times is obviously still alive here among some members od local community) and Schnaps (sort of brandy) infused with berries, pine needles od apricot aromas. Some terrific examples of late middle-ages "buerger" architecture as well as picture perfect small town castle placed at the outskirts of town. A bit enigmatic frescoes at the gallery opposite to the castle commemorate soldiers fallen in two twentieth century wars. Town has certain sinister reputation, but instead of trying to decipher it I would rather suggest spending some time on the magnificent Koenigslake some 6-7 km away.

Very interesting tour of the Salt caves
(Translated by Google) We booked online the day before. It worked without a hitch. We wanted to do something for our soul and health by visiting the healing tunnel and escape the rain. And we succeeded. The staff were pleasantly friendly and attentive. We felt very comfortable during those two hours. Thank you. We give it a full 5 stars and a clear recommendation.
It was our first time to experience this to enter deep to the tunnel and listen to a concert with someone playing different kind of instruments. We been there on sunday afternoon and the Heilstollen have different schedules of musical concert every week. Its a nice feeling to lie down on a bed and also they assist us to cover ourselves with warm blankets and warm hot bag. The blankets and warm hot bag are free and you can get there the moment you are inside the tunnel. Also when you go to the tunnel we ride to a small train that you will sit like you are falling on a line. The tunnel is so narrow but its cool to be there in our destination. The man who did a concert with his traditional musical instruments were very cool and friendly. And also its so relaxing while you were closing your eyes and listening to the relaxing sounds. If you come there you need to book a ticket online and choose a time you want to go. Its good that the lady on the phone is approachable when we were bot able to come in sunday morning schedule. If i remember correctly the total session is 3 hours including the travel inside the tunnel and a small tour going to the heilstotellen session because we need to walk a little bit further before we reach the destination. i will visit again in berchtesgaden i will definitely go and visit again this place. I would recommend this to my friends who love pure relaxation and integrate to nature and with traditional musical instruments
(Translated by Google) We participated in an afternoon tour. Two very friendly salt fairies looked after us and accompanied us. We took the train into the tunnel. The atmosphere was breathtaking. Since the temperature in the tunnel is 12 degrees Celsius, warm clothing is essential. A comfortable lounger was provided for everyone. In addition, everyone received a wool blanket and a hot water bottle. And then the dream journey could begin. Anja Meise accompanied us with her singing bowls and energetic chanting. It was a shame, though, that the woman had such a bad cold that she was coughing constantly (for 20 minutes straight, without a break). An activity with such a high health benefit is actually highly touted for people with weak immune systems. They allow employees to be highly infectious, even allowing meditation with chanting. This woman should have been in bed that day. Even after the meditation session, not a word of apology or a question about how we all enjoyed it. Maybe a CD of relaxing music would have been better. Addendum: Five days later, my husband and I are completely out of bed. Sure, you can get infected somewhere else. But this was unavoidable. We won't be coming back.
(Translated by Google) We come to the healing cave every two years; it's always worth the trip. The air and relaxation are unparalleled in Europe. It's chilly, but with the blankets and hot water bottle, it's bearable. Until next time.
(Translated by Google) A sound journey in the healing tunnel is quite an experience. Even though I was warmly dressed and there were hot water bottles and thick blankets, I emerged from the tunnel frozen. It would have been wonderful to have a hot tea after the concert, but there was only cold brine water. Overall, the whole afternoon was enriching. The only thing that bothered me was the waiting, both at the entrance and at the exit.
(Translated by Google) Absolutely fantastic experience! Very pleasant, friendly staff, clean air, and relaxation! We'll be back! (Original) Absolut tolles Erlebnis! Sehr angenehmes freundliches Personal, klare Luft und Entspannung! Wir kommen wieder!
(Translated by Google) We made the morning entrance on a weekday. After entering, there's a very short walk to the healing tunnel. Once there, you take off your shoes and can leave your backpacks and other belongings behind – you can either bring slippers with you or they'll provide you with slippers on site. It's recommended to bring a small towel for your pillow, but we hadn't seen that on the website beforehand. We probably overlooked it. You have the option to use the restroom there. If you don't have one, you'll be given a disposable one. You can choose your lounger, and you'll also receive a hot water bottle and an extra blanket. If you get cold easily, you should really dress warmly. The two ladies who accompanied us were really nice. It was very quiet the whole hour, but we were probably a small group, because there were still plenty of free loungers. I couldn't sleep, but the peace and quiet is very relaxing. At the end, you receive a glass of saline water and can take photos. It's worth the experience if you're on vacation looking for things you've never done before!

Perfect rainy day activity in Berchtesgaden. The history behind how these mountain herbs & roots are distilled are fascinating. The "bartender" was a wealth of information & made the experience by providing us not only with samples of whatever we wanted to try but also great commentary.
Very cool and historic distillery. They have a large selection of liquors that you can look through and sample. Definitely a cool place to pick up a souvenir for the region.
A trip down memory lane - i love being there. Beautiful location, shop and distillery, very friendly and helpful staff, a wide range of alcoholic beverages of all kinds. Unique flavours you can sample and try. (Don't do to many shots when driving please ;) ). My favourite is their gin, both types! Always worth a visit!
Great distillery with a fascinating history. That us surrounded by gorgeous country. Well worth a visit, especially if you can get a tour and free tasting!
Wonderfull place the product is fantastic and the tour of the place was good especially as they have a hut from yhe mountains and the other artifacts on display is absolutely great . The staff are very knowledgable and are so interesting to talk to.
Nice place. Seems like quality Was disappointing because it seems like there is any attraction but this is very minor and all in German
Very nice people, although they are eager to make you buy some stuff in their shop at the end of your visit.

One of lovely holy place at the city
the main church built around 15 th century but additional parts were added in the 18th century. it has some late gothic architecture inside.
Liked my visit. Lit a candle for my friends. Nice place
There were a few churches within the town and this one is the best by far.
(Translated by Google) Beautiful church, located right next to the old cemetery, which is still busy. You wouldn't expect the inside of the church from the outside. A 2-nave hall church with decorated cross vaults; beautiful galleries, large organ and apparently a candle seller. Rarely have I seen so many candles anywhere. Selten irgendwo so viele Kerzen Devotionalien gesehen.

Lake Königssee, with its clear, emerald-green waters, is particularly impressive. The area also has a lot to offer culturally, such as the famous Kehlsteinhaus (Eagle's Nest). Impressively beautiful and informative exhibition about the life of the people in Berchtesgaden. We were the only visitors, could see everything undisturbed and our questions, the lady at the front desk answered the best. Highly recommended.
Lovely small museum for history and artifacts from the local area and explanation of regional history. Well worth 2 hours or more. Some English explanations on upper floors.
(Translated by Google) Great museum, partially redesigned! The lady at the checkout was very friendly! A visit is always worth it! (Original) Klasse Museum, in Teilen neu gestaltet! Die Dame an der Kasse sehr freundlich! Ein Besuch lohnt sich immer!
(Translated by Google) The exhibits primarily feature folk art. The rest of Berchtesgaden's history, especially the Nazi era, is ignored. Much more could be done with the beautiful house and the neglected garden in front of it. The staff are rude.
(Translated by Google) Beautiful castle. Nice exhibition about the area. Friendly and informative lady at the ticket desk. (Original) Mooi slot. Leuke expositie van de omgeving. Vriendelijk dame aan de kassa, informatief.
(Translated by Google) Very cute local museum. It was astonishing to learn how skilled the Berchtesgaden craftsmen were and how they worked precise patterns into wood, etc., some of which were only one and a half millimeters high, despite their life being so deprived at the time. At the beginning we recommend watching the informative film in the room next to reception; it only lasts a few minutes. Very friendly staff, small shop with local handicrafts.
(Translated by Google) Not much going on in the old little castle, but really interesting - great insights into the history of Berchtesgaden and life in earlier times (for example, they have a mousetrap collection that documents how annoying the creatures were when the food supply was by no means considered secure) . I was impressed by the carving craft with numerous exhibits that show how important it once was here and what incredible products can be carved from bones! The entrance fee is completely okay. I can recommend the museum on a rainy day!
